4 out of 5 eggsFan Headers

Pros: I want to first mention that I did not buy this motherboard from NewEgg.
-Color Scheme
-Cpu over clock ability
-PLX Chip
-Awesome features

Feels like the 329.99 I paid was worth every penny besides the flaws in the cons.

Cons: This motherboard is questionable. The first one that I got from the computer store did not work. I installed it to my system the computer turned on for 2 seconds then died and the motherboard was totally gone.
I RMA'D it (Gigabytes customer service was 8/10)
When the new board arrived I installed it and it turned on. But I noticed two of my fans were spinning terribly slow. the LEDs were barely even lit. They were plugged into the two bottom fan headers. I tried to switch them around the different headers but no luck. I plugged them into the PSU molex connector and it was perfect. Also one of the USB 2.0 headers didn't work.
I almost feel like the motherboard isn't getting enough power through it overall. My GPU is getting okay FPS but not like the benchmarks online. I even tried a new PSU and no luck.
Besides that this is a good motherboard and I will RMA again and hopefully receive a perfect one.

5 out of 5 eggs7 Months and Going Strong!

Pros: - Dual Ethernet controllers, with teaming!
- x16/x16 or x8/x8/x8/x8 PCIe 3 lanes for SLI and Crossfire!
- PCIe lanes divide separately for each x16 slot. Allowing x16/x8/x8.
- Entire I/O panel is USB 3.
- Two USB 3 headers.
- PS2 mouse/keyboard Compatibility.
- Overclocks like a champ.
- sata power adapter for extra stability in SLI and Crossfire.
- Post code reader.
- PCI slot.
- Comes with a great WiFi/Bluetooth card.

Cons: - More current drivers are not available on website.
- UEFI Bios completely inverts my Razer Death Adder 3.5G.
- Provided drivers can be unstable or dysfunctional.
- Colors of LEDs do not match the actual board's color scheme.
- Has not received BIOS updates in many months.
- First x16 PCIe slot is too close to the CPU to fit a PH-TC14PE with a Graphics Card.
- Only 2 USB 2 headers, which isn't much.
- Odd inclusion of 2 extra 1394 headers, a con since there's only two USB 2 headers.

Other Thoughts: This board's biggest problem for me is the completely inverted mouse in the BIOS screen. Otherwise, it's as close to the perfect Z77 board as you can get. It's clearly labelled, well laid out, bursting with incredible features, and has proven to be a solid and stable overclocking platform. This really is an excellent product.

My biggest complaint, however, is the difficulty of acquiring drivers for this beast. To put it simply, you'll need to scour the web for the newest drivers, Gigabyte doesn't have them. Right now there's an updated USB 3 driver available through Intel's website which fixed several device compatibility issues I was having. One of them in particular was an issue with properly identifying my Xbox 360 controller on USB 3 ports. There's a new rapid storage controller driver available as well, in addition to other drivers I'm sure I haven't stumbled across yet.

Also, while the Gigabyte website claims teaming in unavailable on the Ethernet ports, the newest Intel drivers (18.4 as of this review) fully support it. I'm using a load balancing team to write this very review. That's not all either, Gigabyte's e2200 driver for Windows 7 x64 is woefully out of date, and has many stability issues. Much newer drivers are available for this device on Killer's website, and are almost certainly a requirement just to stop BSODs and other connectivity problems.

However, once you figure out where to look for drivers this board really is something incredible to behold. It is easily one of the best boards of the Z77 lineup, and arguably one of the best boards for the 1155 socket. If Gigabyte's website would update to include the better drivers that are available, and if they ironed out the few kinks in the UEFI BIOS, the experience of owning this board would be much more enjoyable. As it stands though, Gigabyte has one thoroughly satisfied customer!

5 out of 5 eggsWifi/BlueTooth card

Pros: Great motherboard, has all the features you need, no need to purchase any additional cards like sound, wifi, or even bluetooth dongles.

Cons: doesn't make cofee

Other Thoughts: Great board overall, very well priced.

People that have reported you miss one USB 2.0 port when using the Bluetooth card, look closer. On the card there is a passthrough for your missing USB2.0 port, that is where you will plug your card readers- front USB2.0 headers. You do not use it, you have it on the bluetooth card.

1 out of 5 eggsTerrible Board

Pros: When It worked it was awesome......

Cons: Well I RMA'd this board about two times for an audio issue (keeps cutting in and out every few minutes) and each time Gigabyte has shipped it back without a word of what they did to supposedly fix it. My usb and analog headsets cut in and out which is very annoying while watching movies/videos/gaming.

1 out of 5 eggsGood Motherboard, when it worked.

Pros: Tons of features
Easy to use bios
Best bang for the money

Cons: Had it for about two weeks and motherboard failed to boot and post. Spent extensive amount of time troubleshooting first by removing the other components and swapping it with known good ones. Still had the same issue. Computer would boot for a few seconds and then shut off. Then it would turn on, then shut off. This repeats until I turned off the power supply. If I remove all of the components and wait a few days, would work for about a week and then the same problem.
Kind of tired of this. I had a Gigabyte mobo in one of my previous builds and had nothing but trouble either. Should have gotten an ASUS ROG motherboard instead.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,

Thank you for your comments. Honest and constructive opinions are always welcome. We apologize for your difficulty with your Gigabyte product.

Your described issue may be caused by:

1. Your LGA socket is damaged. Please carefully remove your processor, and inspect the pins. If no pins appear to be bent/damaged, reinstall following the Intel LGA socket guidelines.

2, Your BIOS settings are overly aggressive. You mention that your system would work for about a week, and then have the same problem. Try using the Optimized Default BIOS settings as a test. Run your system normally with these settings, and verify if this happens again.

3. Your power supply is failing. Your 3-way SLI configured system will put a heavy load on your power supply. Use a power supply tester, or use a spare power supply unit as a test.

If you require further assistance, please contact us at newegg-support@gigabyte-usa.com with the case number 2013052401 in the subject line. We will provide personalized service and analysis to help solve your issue as soon as possible.

5 out of 5 eggsTo all the nay sayers

Pros: Ok I just wanna start out by saying I did a lot of research before buying this board and I'm glad I don't often follow the local reviews. This board is the best bang for your buck in my opinion. There are things that have to be done in process to get everything to work the way you expect it like flash BIOS and if you are like me have to have 2666 RAM you will need some 1333 to start it up with at the beginning. That may sound like cons to you but I found it relatively simple due to the research I did before hand. Also the BIOS is definitely one of the most adjustable user friendly setup's I've ever used. There were other 1 egg reviews about running SLI and its true you should first boot the internal graphics and then I did one card added at a time after windows install and driver installs. I currently am running 2 GTX 660's in SLI with no issues. So like I said do good research and thanks for the 1 egg reviews that helped me piece together what I needed to know to make my system WIN!!!!

System
MB-Gigabyte G1 Sniper3 Z77 LGA 1155
CPU-Intel core i7 3770k
Cooler-Zalman LQ-320 Liquid Cooler
Graphics-x2 Gigabyte GV-N660OC-2GD GTX 660
PSU-ROSEWILL 1300W LIGHTNING 1300
SSD-120GB SAMSUNG MZ-7TD120BW as MBR
HDD-x2 500GB WD5000HHTZ 10K in RAID 0
MEM-x2 GSKILL F32666C11D-8GTXD
OS-WINDOW 7 X64

Cons: Just takes a little more research than one would expect but when you are getting to the top of the line rigs you cant expect there not to be glitches.

1 out of 5 eggsAvoid: Fails to deliver

Pros: When it worked, it was ok. The BIOS could use some additional options (where are all the PCI-e options?)

Cons: DOES NOT work with 4 or more GPU's properly. The motherboard expects you to place 4 GPU's on the board itself, and they are about 1cm apart. When you run these under load, this creates a heat nightmare. My 7950's run at 5000RPM to stay at 85C while on the board, and I have a giant box fan pointing down at all of the cards! Thinking of using PCI-e 16x or 1x->16x risers? Think again! I tried all of the following combinations, ONE of which got the board to recognize all 4 GPU's (Sapphire 7950's, very good and solid cards). Oftentimes the board would hard lock as well. The only configuration that got all 4 cards recognized was having them all mounted on the board itself (but read on, this stopped working).

Tried:
-4x "normal" PCI-e 16x risers: don't even think about this working. Hard lock city, if it ever boots, only 1-3 cards recognized.
-2x "normal" PCI-e 16x risers with other 2 GPU's on the board: Max. 3 GPU's recognized, lots of hard locks, unreliable boots
-2x "powered" PCI-e 16x risers (molex connector) with other 2 GPU's on the board: Max. 3 GPU's recognized
-1x "powered" PCI-e 16x riser, 1x "normal" PCI-e 1x->16x riser, other 2 GPU's on the board: Success! ... for about 12 hours. This is a bitcoin mining computer, obviously. The computer locked up after about 12 hours. Rebooted and only 3 GPU's were present. In frustration, I put all 4 GPU's back on the board where they HAD originally worked. From here I no longer can detect 4 GPU's, it's just stuck at 3.

This board has been a nightmare. If you are a heavy gamer that wants 4 GPU's or a bitcoin miner, AVOID AVOID AVOID this board. It's too expensive and DOES NOT WORK AS ADVERTISED. I had to put pressure on Newegg to take back this piece of junk and get a refund and not a replacement. They need to stop selling it. It has wasted a lot of hours of my life that I can't get back.

Other Thoughts: If you're a bitcoin miner, get an MSI board. I've read good things about them after my troubles with this board.

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you for your comments. Honest and constructive opinions are always welcome. We apologize for your difficulty with your Gigabyte product.

This product model has been validated for 4-way SLI or 4-way CrossfireX. I believe your problem was a failure to cool your entire system temperature thus causing your lockups. Please keep in mind that installing multiple graphics cards will generate additional heat to your overal system. You must provide adequate active cooling for your entire system. In addition, you must also provide enough power for your 4 graphics cards and entire system, which may also cause lockups. If you require further assistance, please contact us at newegg-support@gigabyte-usa.com with the case number 2013051002 in the subject line. We will provide personalized service and analysis to help solve your issue as soon as possible.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Nice

Pros: Loads of features for the price. I am glad that I was able to get one after it was discontinued for a while on Newegg.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I am still working with the many features on the board.

4 out of 5 eggsFantastic board, but UPDATE BIOS

Pros: - UEFI bios is very nice looking and very functional.
- Dual PCI-e x16
- Best crossfire / SLI solution around
- Very solid and well built
- Dual NIC's
- Debug LED is good for troubleshooting
- On-board power switch for testing

Cons: - stock bios cannot see most pci-e 3.0 cards
- PC speaker is obnoxiously irritating (nitpicking)

Other Thoughts: Could not get video cards to display anything on first boot. Debug LED gave me the direction to go in, but the manual was so poorly written / translated that it almost didn't help at all.
If you're having trouble getting video from your PCI-e 3.0 cards, boot into windows using integrated graphics, and get the latest BIOS update. Most of the time, this will make the board be able to see the cards and boot normally off them.
Also, the PC speaker sounds like an obnoxious crow. it's nice to hear the post beep, but why does it need to sound to piercing? I'm nitpicking now... Overall the board is great.
Lost one egg for bios issues and making me think the video cards were dead.

Final build:
