1 out of 5 eggsEar Plugs Required

Pros: They work.

Cons: These are hands down the noisiest drives I have ever used in over 20 years.

Other Thoughts: I have two of these drives in a raid 1, and it is LOUD!

4 out of 5 eggsGood Drive

Pros: Has worked since I got it. What a bargain of a price.

Cons: None so far. How long it will last based on reviews remains to be seen.

Other Thoughts: I bought this drive for a new build that was based off of one I pulled from Toms Hardware. As with a few of the other parts listed in that build the reviews on this item were average to poor. When reviews are poor on an item made by a generally reliable manufacturer it drives the price down. If you are one of the lucky ones or if the manufacturer fixes known issues the customer gets the benefit (good item low price). For me thus far this has proved a sweet deal and I will be purchasing two more drives to make a raid system.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Raid Drive

Pros: Purchased 4 on sale for 59.99, set up Raid 5 array with and Adaptec 6405 and WHS 2011, Ran Anvilpro in endurance test mode for 3 weeks straight, writing over 150TB of data in 16.5m files at +/-100mb/s with zero errors.
Very low power consumption every @ 100% duty cycle in a Raid 5 array, minimal heat dissapation. Couldn't be happer with the choice, costs, speed and overall results.
Look foward to many years of great service.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Raid arrays with the +1TB drives have too many write errors as time goes by and data is written, erased, moved and untilized. Setting up GPT drives over 2TB fragment to quickly and the performance degrades very fast. These 750MB, 668MB formatted, make a perfect enterprise quality four drive, 2TB NTFS Dynamic Raid 5 Drive for less than $250.00

4 out of 5 eggsVery Solid MFG RMA process

Pros: 2nd one works as advertised

Cons: 1st one died within days

Other Thoughts: Every manufacturer will have bad drives, I am so happy with Seagate's RMA process that I doubt I will ever buy another brand until they disappoint me there. Very quick turn around. NewEgg would have taken care of it for me, but I kept putting it off till it was too late, so my bad there.

1 out of 5 eggsHorrible

Pros: Free shipping to me.

Cons: Dead on arrival. Return shipping is costing me over 12 dollars, non-reimbursable. Now the drive is similar cost as going to a retail outlet, and from start to finish 19 days to get a hard drive that may or may not work.

Other Thoughts: Do not buy seagate unless you have an extra 12 dollars and 3 weeks of time you are willing to waste.

1 out of 5 eggsDon't waste your time...

Pros: Good stats and price, if it works.

Cons: Drive was recognized by BIOS, most of the time. Wouldn't format, would lock up after being partitioned. Replaced with a different drive in this new system and everything worked fine.

5 out of 5 eggsnice fan

Pros: Quiet comes with adapter. Original connection is 2 hole female, adapter changes it to a 3 hole female fit.

Cons: Doesn't show me the rpm the fan spins without wire. No screws.

Other Thoughts: Cable w/o adapter aprox 3 inches long. With adapter it adds aprox another 3 inches.
