5 out of 5 eggsEPIC GAMING DEVICE!!!!!!!

Pros: Perfection no other keyboard can match it. I was looking for a gamepad like the G13 but I wanted an illuminated keyboard too and this keyboard satifies both my needs. Three colors red, purple, and blue with 4 modes of control off, low, med, and high brightness, also every key is programmable. Add 2 usb 2.0 ports and headset hook ups makes this the best gaming keyboard to spend your money on.

Cons: none

5 out of 5 eggsLove It

Pros: Price/Value
Well Lighted
Highly Customizable
2 USB Ports

Cons: USB Ports may not fully power some devices or allow them to function properly.

Other Thoughts: Doesn't take long to get used to the key placement and once you do it's highly efficient and customizable. I loved my Razor Anansi but wanted more customizable options so I took a shot at this unit and don't regret it.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing board, bad lights

Pros: Ergonomic game pad is pretty much the best on the market. The keys are nice and easy to press- non mechanical (i don't like mechanical keys personally)
Lighting for me didn't work at first but now looks sweet (see cons) Software isn't provided but you can just download from the SS website and it's a breeze to use
keys and keyboard are solid- there are also two heights on the back-props for the board

Cons: My lights would go from an orangeish to light-pink to red

The problem? I opened up the board and found that the LED on the bottom of the board by the "jump" button had the red and blue contacts bridged by solder. Would be nicer to see better QC on these remans but it's not a big deal. Broke the solder off and the lights are now working as they should and I've got a lovable board once more

Other Thoughts: LEDs aren't TERRIBLY bright on max, so if you're in a heavily sunlit room you won't see them much

Also, White LEDS would also make this keyboard look super bad---. I might mod some in later, but for now I'll just enjoy the soft blue glow.

Also, no dedicated delete key. It's #1 on the numpad. But who cares right?

5 out of 5 eggsGreat keyboard

Pros: *Adjustable led, Dedicated game pad, keyboard mods for games, media keys, no function buttons
I'm moving from a conventional keyboard that was on its last leg decided to go for a board with a dedicated gamepad and i am not disappointed it made my FPS experience alot easier versus the regular layout it feels natural

Very sturdy build quality.. worth every penny especially refurbished... will buy from this brand again

Cons: If you're changing from a conventional keyboard this will take some getting use to although this is not a con it takes some getting use to the whole new layout of the keyboard

Other Thoughts: The scroll lock key enables the double function delete key on the num pad

5 out of 5 eggsTo get a dedicated delete key read

Pros: Key lighting and color options
customized design that includes extremely useful and ergonomic gaming pad
media keys dedicated (no function button required)
good size despite the dedicated keypad (not too large)
usb hub (can only really power my mouse but that's all I need)
key quality (doesn't get dirty and can be cleaned easily)
keyboard tilt ability
audio extender built in
rubberized keys on gamepad that are most commonly used
application shortcut keys
case sticker

Cons: The only problem that I have ever had with this keyboard (and I have had it for almost 3 years) is that it lacks a dedicated delete key other than the one on the numberpad. Because I like to use the numberpad for numbers, this obviously does not work for me. I fixed this problem easily by key binding the function of the delete key to the F12 key, located directly above the backspace key. This is an identical position to my laptop's delete key so it was very convenient for me to pick up. To do this I downloaded a program called SharpKeys and simply binded the function of the delete key to the F12 button. Now control-alt-delete is control-alt-F12. While I understand that this is not the ideal solution, this has worked very, very well for me and I have never needed to specifically use the F12 key for F12.

Other Thoughts: This con was not nearly enough to make me take away an egg because it was so easily rectifiable and I knew that this may be an inconvenience going into the purchase. There have been no other keyboards that I have found that provide the dedicated gaming keypad that this one has and it is SUCH an awesome feature. I originally purchased this at around $90 and I still thought that that was an excellent deal but seeing this refurbished one at $25 was too good to pass up and I actually purchased another. Buy this while it lasts! You won't regret it.

The video is to show the lighting of the keyboard. The dark part of the video is showing the 3 colors at the highest illumination mode in a mostly dark room in front of 3 very bright monitors next to a Razer Naga Molten Edition (quite bright, I would also recommend). The bright shot is intended to show the height of the keyboard.

Pros: Great functionality for gamers.
Comfortable.
Fairly Noiseless keystrokes.

Cons: Seems to very rarely have Power issues.

Other Thoughts: Overall a very nice product and I don't regret one bit making this purchase. It has served me well over the past year.

4 out of 5 eggsSteel Series Merc Stealth

Pros: very programmable once you get to understand the software, 3 color/3 brightness levels and off very comfortable on the gaming side

Cons: loud leys, like the 80's type of click keyboard, the USB "hub" is worthless it can draw ONLY .5MA, thats about enough to run my USB powered X12 Turtle Beach headsets, OR a flash drive, it wont even see my Droid Razr, and oddly enough i have a steel series cata mouse, it will not even light up, because it overpowers the MA limit

i do not understand this issue as it takes very little engineering for USB hub to make it functional

the other thing, its an annoyance, is 3 colors, 3 intensity levels?? the steel series mouse has infinite colors, infinite intensities, you can easily add that to make matching colors at night, that's really odd because the cata mouse i have, is infinite colors and levels

i expected much more with this caliber of gaming keyboard, those 2 issues, USB hub and the lack of complete color mixing is an fail Steel Series on a flawless design of a rocking keyboard, you cheaped out on 2 things, thats one egg off

Other Thoughts: macros can be frustrating with the software, there are no premade templates for several MMORPGS, so i took a default template and made my own, it works flawlessly with the steel series cata mouse
