5 out of 5 eggsCool

This review is from: COOLER MASTER Elite 110 RC-110-KKN2 Midnight Black Steel / Plastic Mini-ITX Tower Computer Case with Standard Size ATX PSU and 120mm Radiator Support

Pros: Nice price
Sleek look
Love the light up Cooler Master powerbutton on the front.
Plenty of spare screws and ties.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: My first Mini ITX cube build and I like this cool little box. I have spare parts lying around and picked up a foxconn mini ATX board and it fit inside no problem. I put in a 430 Watt Corsair PS with my old corei3 and a radeon r7 240 8 gigs of gskills and I have a nice little machine the relatives visting can mess around on. Be warned tho if your building a mini gamer I would get a modular PS then as not much area to pack extra cables in unless you want to seriously block airflow and you do not want to this in this case.

5 out of 5 eggsSmall ITX case worth a little effort.

This review is from: COOLER MASTER Elite 110 RC-110-KKN2 Midnight Black Steel / Plastic Mini-ITX Tower Computer Case with Standard Size ATX PSU and 120mm Radiator Support

Pros: Room for front 140mm RAD, full size ATX PSU. Wide open space to work in, with solid construction throughout. Even space for Push/Pull configuration.

Cons: Almost fit a GTX660, it is in fact the exact same length, there is a perfectly positioned cutout in the case but it is about 1 inch too small for GPU heatsink to fit into, dremel fixed that. Fans/HDD are oddly positioned.

Other Thoughts: With a little creative thought this case turned into a wonder. I popped off the rivets and put the HDDs on the opposite side panel from the GPU this leaves the GPU free to get sufficient airflow. Also I jammed a Cooler Master 200mm fan in the top, it just fit.

5 out of 5 eggsElite 110 Mini-ITX Case

This review is from: COOLER MASTER Elite 110 RC-110-KKN2 Midnight Black Steel / Plastic Mini-ITX Tower Computer Case with Standard Size ATX PSU and 120mm Radiator Support

Pros: The easiest Mini-ITX build I've done. This case is very easy to work with. Easy access for my large fingers. Ventilation is very good and, if you need it, there is room to mount a 120 mm radiator.

I really like the HD mounting options. The documentation was excellent, and there is room for a real power supply.

Cons: Not really a con, but be advised that there is no way to mount an internal optical drive.

The darned power switch is lighted and blinks when the computer is in sleep mode.

Other Thoughts: I didn't, but I would recommend buying a modular power supply. It is, after all, a small case.

3 out of 5 eggsElite 110 review

This review is from: COOLER MASTER Elite 110 RC-110-KKN2 Midnight Black Steel / Plastic Mini-ITX Tower Computer Case with Standard Size ATX PSU and 120mm Radiator Support

Pros: Small
Good airflow
3.0usb in front panel
Reset button

Cons: Power button

Other Thoughts: Make sure you know what your doing first time installing your components. If your build doesn't boot first try prepare for an awful experience dismantling each component. In my case, my power button on the front panel was doa so I had to switch the front panel power switch cable with reset switch cable in order to boot my system. So now I'm using the reset button as my power button to boot up. Which in my opinion is better but was a not so fun experience troubleshooting to find the issue.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi Gopats,

We sincerely apologize for the trouble you had with our case. We can definitely help make this right by replacing that front panel. Would you be able to contact us so we can make this right?

Respectfully,

CMUSA Support.

1 out of 5 eggsDOA

This review is from: COOLER MASTER Elite 110 RC-110-KKN2 Midnight Black Steel / Plastic Mini-ITX Tower Computer Case with Standard Size ATX PSU and 120mm Radiator Support

Pros: A nice looking mini-ITX case with good ventilation.

Cons: Ordered this with a bunch of other parts to build a mini-ITX rig but when put together the whole thing wouldn't turn on, tried narrowing it down and thought it might be the mobo or the PSU and had it checked by the local computer store which cost me $75, turns out the case has faulty wire for the power switch and now I have to send it back for an RMA and the shipping fees are gonna be another expense. Seriously didn't expect the case to be the one thing that'd give me problems.

Other Thoughts: It seems someone else had a similar problem as mine and it would have cost them $20 to send it in. Does CM offer any solutions to these faulty front panel wires? I really don't want to waste any more money and risk getting another faulty case.

Manufacturer Response:

Good Afternoon Valued Customer,

I apologize your Elite 110 computer case is not working correctly for you as you can apply for a Parts Request for a replacement IO Panel/PCB and accessories through our CM Fanzone along with your purchase invoice and serial number at the following links below.

Please let me know for further questions.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat little Case!

This review is from: COOLER MASTER Elite 110 RC-110-KKN2 Midnight Black Steel / Plastic Mini-ITX Tower Computer Case with Standard Size ATX PSU and 120mm Radiator Support

Pros: Small: perfect size for a desktop case.

Good Internal Layout: Case is small, but not so small that you can't get your hand in there and work.

Ventilation: Good ventilation holes on the top and sides of the case - allows for mounting the PSU with fan facing up or down.

Hardware: Included plenty of screws and zip ties.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: When building in this case, component order is key.

I highly recommend installing the mother board, cpu, GPU, front panel connectors, HDDs, SSDs, SATA cables, and then mounting the PSU and supporting cables (all in that order).

Even with a semi-modular PSU (Corsair CX 430M) I still had some difficulties working the cable management piece (but I am also really picky and particular about cable management).

I swapped out the front 120mm fan for a 140mm fan with a shroud for more air flow directed at the stock CPU cooler and everything fit well.

Once cables were managed and out of the way of the front intake fan I was getting CPU temps of 34°C using the stock CPU cooler (Intel) and 28°C on motherboard temps [ambient temp is 19°C].

Very happy with the airflow of this case.

I had a little bit of trouble getting a 3.5 HDD to mount on the side with a GPU (GTX 750ti) in the PCI-E slot but managed to make it work with an approx. 1.5mm gap between the two. GPU temps are in the high 30's to low 40's (average of 40°C) so all in all I think the case is great.

5 out of 5 eggsLove it!

This review is from: COOLER MASTER Elite 110 RC-110-KKN2 Midnight Black Steel / Plastic Mini-ITX Tower Computer Case with Standard Size ATX PSU and 120mm Radiator Support

Pros: Solid riveted chassis, no sharp edges, plenty of hardware. Included fan is only 3 pin but quiet at 1250 RPM. Onboard graphics and SSD drive means the interior of my case is mostly PSU and air. Entire front face is covered with a foam dust filter.

Mislabeled power-reset wires was not an issue.

Cons: Front USB sockets slightly misaligned. Front LED very bright and very blue.

Other Thoughts: Perfect for a $500 build, this case is simple, cheap and good looking. ITX is just cool.

4 out of 5 eggsexcellent case, slow customer service

This review is from: COOLER MASTER Elite 110 RC-110-KKN2 Midnight Black Steel / Plastic Mini-ITX Tower Computer Case with Standard Size ATX PSU and 120mm Radiator Support

Pros: Good looking case. Small, but not impossible to work with.

Cons: Slow customer service. My case didn't have all the screws that the instructions said it should include. Most notably it was missing the motherboard screws. I called Cooler Master customer service. They redirected me to their website to enter a parts request. Even with me requesting that they escalate/expedite, it took more than a week to receive the new screws. By then I had given up and bought my own replacement screws.

Other Thoughts: This case makes for a nice compact system. Some components can be a tight fit.

Here's my system:
Cooler Master Elite 110 case
Asus Z97i motherboard
Intel I7-4790K CPU
Silverstone SFX 450W power supply
G.Skill Ripjaws memory 16GB
Corsair H80i liquid cooler
Seagate SSHD 1TB
EVGA 750Ti SC graphics card

I had to use a narrow headed (7mm) HDMI cable to fit into the HDMI port on the back of the case. I also had to leave one fan screw off to allow clearance for the internal USB 3.0 connector just below the fan.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks as expected

This review is from: COOLER MASTER Elite 110 RC-110-KKN2 Midnight Black Steel / Plastic Mini-ITX Tower Computer Case with Standard Size ATX PSU and 120mm Radiator Support

Pros: Small case, room for a standard size atx psu, adequate cooling through front mesh.

Cons: I'm using a non-modular psu and it's a little challenging to fit all the cables into this case....but I expected that. I'd definitely recommend going modular and also avoiding 3.5" hard drives if you can. If you use modular psus and only ssds, you should have ample space and plenty of airflow.

Even with my big bundle of PSU cables, I'm getting good temperatures (low 30s) on my haswell core i3 using a stock cooler.

4 out of 5 eggsSTILL TOO BIG!!!

This review is from: COOLER MASTER Elite 110 RC-110-KKN2 Midnight Black Steel / Plastic Mini-ITX Tower Computer Case with Standard Size ATX PSU and 120mm Radiator Support

Pros: As chassis go, it's admittedly fairly small. "Okay" looking; not great. Yeah, you can add a bunch of drives on there, and a pretty big video card.

Cons: It's STILL WAAY TOO BIG!!! Why are "gamers" considered to be the only market for SFF?!? Even with a discrete video card, probably 50% of the internal volume is wasted. I ABSOLUTELY do NOT need an optical drive, and if I did, I'd be okay with EITHER a thin/laptop formfactor drive (easy to source) or USB. So why all this extra space? The issue is the standard ATX formfactor P/S, which is a poor choice; you want to go with a 1U/"server"-style, which are much more dense, but otherwise power/energy comparable.

Other Thoughts: NOBODY HAS YET gotten this chassis formfactor right! The Lian-Li LI PC-TU200B is only slightly larger, and much, much nicer/lighter (though admittedly much more expensive).

Please, Lian-Li -- or anybody -- MAKE A SMALLEST-POSSIBLE MINI-ITX CHASSIS. You'd sell a ton of 'em.
