5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Case Fan

Pros: It's 2015 now and I bought these in 2013 to replace some failing stock case fans (my system was starting to overheat and power off on its own). I have noticed a few things:

-They can be loud but the speed is adjustable to your level of noise comfort.
-They do an excellent job of cooling your system.
-I haven't really had to think about case fans for almost two years, which is maybe the best thing I could say about this particular piece of hardware.

Cons: They can be somewhat loud if you have them running at full blast, but that can be mitigated by adjusting the speed.

Other Thoughts: Highly recommended.

5 out of 5 eggsTop notch quality

Pros: I can't believe how long these fans last. Cranking lots of air since
10/14/2006. WOW!

I have bought other fans that didn't last a year that start clicking and clacking that cost $9.00

You get what you pay for. Expensive, but they last over a decade...

Cons: Can be a bit loud, but that is because it is pushing LOTS of air.
Just get a fan controller.

Recommend getting "NZXT SEN-MIX2 Sentry Mix 2 Fan Controller"

Pros: Works well, moves air, fairly quiet. Workmanship is nice and won't be an eyesore if you've got a big window.

3 out of 5 eggsOver a year later ...

Pros: I bought 2 Silverstone FM121 120mm case fans over a year ago from New Egg. I spent the extra dollars because I was hoping to re-use the case fans in future builds. When I attempted to re-use the fans I ran into a fragility around the attachment of the variable control wire to the fan. Over the course of a month, both variable control wires have come loose. Now, the fans are running full blast all the time. The fans are a little too loud to run at 100% all the time. Outside of the wire fragility, the fans were very good. I plan to replace these Silverstone fans with another brand in order to avoid this particular issue in the future.

Cons: The wire connecting the variable control interface to the fan is a point of failure to be aware of.

3 out of 5 eggsBatting .500

Pros: Fan #1 - Quiet, moves air well, includes a steel grill. Comes with it's own speed controller.

Cons: Fan #2 - Continuously revs up and down. Could be either the fan itself or the speed controller, but I simply disconnected it rather than investigate it. A little difficult finding a good place to mount the speed controller.

Other Thoughts: 5 Eggs had both worked ok. I debated giving 4 eggs, knowing that I always get the one bad one in a bunch...
The second one sounded like a teenager revving his engine at a stop light. The first one is nice and quiet at a fairly low speed, and is quieted than I would have expected at higher RPM's.

The steel grill is nice for a fan mounted in the bottom of the case to help supply air. Make it just a touch harder for anything to drop into the blades. The white plastic is just a touch off-white.

Long lead wires.

Since it's extremely unlikely that 50% of their products have issues, this would still be a good choice as an additional case fan.

5 out of 5 eggsI love these fans! (But they are a bit loud)

Pros: These are great case cooling fans at 100+ CFM, but they are a bit loud. They can be slowed down with a trim-pot to make them more quiet but that also reduces the CFM. All in all, a first choice for me from now on for 120mm case cooling fans. I've installed four of them on one case and will likely use another four to upgrade another case I have. Excellent fans.

Cons: Loud. Noisy. But that's to be expected at the high RPM you need in a 120mm fan to push out 100+ CFM. I'm used to it but not everyone can tolerate it.

Other Thoughts: The fact that they include a trim-pot to dial down the RPM's and thus quiet the noise is a very thoughtful decision on the part of the manufacturer. These are now a first choice for me for 120mm case cooling fans or for any high CFM application. I've even rigged one of these up to cool my DSL modem for my internet connection. The modem tends to run hot. I just added an old power supply and jumpered the 24-pin connector with a bent paper-clip. The P/S has an on/off switch for when I'm trying to sleep since the modem is in my bedroom.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing CFM, loud

Pros: Amazing fan, with excellent CFM. This fan can move air and cool a PC well!

Cons: Loud :D

Other Thoughts: I don't use the included fan controller that came with this fan. I use an aftermarket one I have installed in my case. At lower RPM these fans work well and similar to cheap case fans, quiet too. When doing intensive work, or BTC mining :D, rev these fans up and watch them scream! But they will cool even the hottest video cards.
