2 out of 5 eggsDead

Pros: When it worked, it worked great. The auto OC feature was awesome and dual video cards worked great.

Cons: It's dead after 4 years usage. I expected to get at least 6.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Great motherboard, well written manual, easy to set up, connectors on the motherboard for just about anything you could imagine.

Cons: For some reason cannot ever get it to do a warm boot, I have a ticket in to ASRock tech support so they can tell me if I knocked something loose.

Pros: Great options for the price, Crossfire ready, tons of functions in a great package.

Cons: Could never get it to pass POST. Tried every memory configuration the manual suggested and anything I could think of, still just a black screen. Have tested every other component in a different system so the only thing left is the board - DOA. Will post a second review as soon as I get my replacement.

Other Thoughts: NEWEGG is making the whole process of exchange very painless. Thank you NewEgg!!!

5 out of 5 eggsSo far, soooo good!

Pros: Worked perfectly at 1800mhz and 7-7-7-20. I have pushed two sticks to 6-6-6-20, and have been stable under load for a few days now (temperatures only went up a few degrees Celsius). 6-6-6-20 at 1800mhz! It's what friggin dreams are made of!

Cons: None at all! Could be free, and the heatsinks certainly don't have to be _that_ tall.

Other Thoughts: I work as a sysadmin, and have used Cray supercomputers, crazy 16 core xeon systems, and clients cool RAID10 servers... I have never used a system _nearly_ as quick as this:

Mobo: SRock M3A780GXH/128M
Proc: AMD Phenom II X3 720 2.8GHz (clocked at 3.3 - cool and stable (200x15))
PSU : COOLMAX CUG-950B 950W
GFX: EVGA GTS 250 (GDDR3!)
And this awesome memory.

Buy it! Patriot rocks, so far they've never let me down what I cheep out and buy a bargan (like this deal). They're the Asrock of memory!

Pros: Solid board great BIOS for overclocking

Cons: Unlocking my 550 BE didn't work, had to underclock to 1.6 Ghz to POST and still bluescreened at windows loading screen.

5 out of 5 eggs1st one was DOA, 2nd works great!

Pros: Tons of sata ports, great on board video (if you use it). All and all, great purchase for the price.

Over clocking is a breeze with the software it comes with.

Cons: First one was DOA. Spent a good 12 frustrating hours trying to figure out if I was missing something. But, that happens. Newegg has made the replacement process painless.

1 out of 5 eggsRMA

Pros: Came with all components

Cons: DOA. Now I have to wait forever to get a replacement, oh, the downsides to purchasing online. ;(
Oh yeah and I have to pay out of pocket to ship back junk!

Other Thoughts: Should be a great mobo, when it works that is. We'll see if the new one works.

4 out of 5 eggsVery nice board, a few gotchas

Pros: Great price, all the ports you'll need. Even has a 1394 in the back panel and pins for one on the board for cases with a front panel firewire port. Multiple 3 pin fan connectors for case / power supply fans. Well designed with nothing in the way of longer video cards in any of the PCI-Express x16 slots.

Cons: ATI video built in (doh!) but I bought it with the intention of running an nVidia PCI-Express 16 card. Floppy connector all the way at the bottom of the board. None of the fan connectors were near my fans and my fans had short cables so I ended up using drive power cords for them. Running SLI would limit the airflow to the first card if it's using a two-slot footprint. The IDE connector is practically underneath the video card.

The PCI-Express x1 slot is practically useless due to a huge heatsink just behind the card. Any x1 card used must not extend more than an inch behind the slot or the heatsink will be in the way. For instance every single Intel PCI-Express network card Newegg carries right now would not work in the x1 slot on this board because they are too long.

Other Thoughts: Definitely not designed for smaller cases, but if you're building a gamer rig, most video cards and heatsinks won't fit in a smaller case anyway. I installed it in one of the better Antec cases and had plenty of room to spare. As another reviewer mentioned, four of the six SATA point forward, but again if you're using more than two SATA devices, likely your case is larger anyway, but be aware that you don't want to cram this into one of the smaller cheap cases.

Also, please, please get a large enough power supply. This motherboard has the 24 pin ATX power connector (20+4) AND the 8 pin ATX 12V connector, and STILL has a 4 pin HD molex connector for when your video card needs more power. Even if you get a 95 watt or lower CPU you'll want a 500 watt or larger power supply - probably on the larger side, especially if you're adding a video card.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent board

Pros: Reasonbably priced. Has the features I needed, including Firewire header for front port on the case.

Cons: I don't like that 4 of the 6 SATA ports point forward. There's not much room between them and the hard drive trays in my case. Also, when using the auto-overclock feature, it disabled Cool'n'Quiet. To overclock and keep Cool'n'Quiet, you need to manually adjust the speeds.

Other Thoughts: Can't complain too much, It's given me no problems so far. It does what I needed, and at a good price.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Board!!!

Pros: Does everything as advertised and does it well!

Cons: The only con I ran into is that when you install a PCI/E Video Card it'll disable onboard video. If you tell the BIOS to use onboard video, it'll disable the PCI Video. At least this has been my experienced after messing around in the BIOS. Not a big deal.

Other Thoughts: Great board for the price. Very cheap and got this and the processor in a Combo deal. Saved 15 bucks!
