4 out of 5 eggsGood Deal

Pros: Good Price, especially for what you get. I use this to store a lot of DVD's and then stream them on my network. It works very well and I have not had much of a big problem with it.

Cons: Sometimes it does take some time to respond and load from the drive.

Other Thoughts: Good Buy

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Great storage device, used to store my games

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Wish it was free shipping, it's fat32 *<=4gb so you have to format it to ntfs >4gb

5 out of 5 eggsGreat drive

Pros: A lot of space. The case looks nice and provides a lot of ventilation. Transfer speeds were alright (more below). It comes with a lot of software that could be useful, though not to me. It was formatted to fat32, so it worked immediately with my PS3. I've been using it for hours now, it's still not hot.

Cons: none yet

Other Thoughts: The transfer speeds using a usb extension cable were pretty bad, 5-6mb/s. It's a pain getting behind my PC, but it was worth it. The speeds jumped to over 25mb/s.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: High capacity, fast transfer speed, durable. Case design seems to keep them cool... or they handle high temperatures well.

I bought two of these 25 months ago, and they're still working great, despite being used constantly in a poorly ventilated and hot area.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I bought mine new (from newegg), not re-certified. A couple years ago, they were $150 each, and it was a good deal at that price.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I took the 1TB out, It was good as new and I slapped it as an internal drive in my computer. I then replaced the 1TB with a 500g In the external container.

PROS: The design of the external drive is amazing, best so far.It works flawlessly and is quiet

Cons: CONS: If you do not know what your doing, do not try to get inside the case to replace the hard-drive. WD was clever enough to make it hard to get into.

A simple googling will suffice though!

Other Thoughts: It was an amazing deal, I Got it for 40 bucks on a shell shocker

5 out of 5 eggsFormat it first!!!

Pros: A lot of storage space for a very good price. I purchased my first a little over a year ago and currently have 7. Love WD HDs, they're the only ones I have.

Cons: It comes formatted as FAT32.

Other Thoughts: I didn't realize it was FAT32 and had the 4GB file size limit until I had a lot of data on it. It was my own fault. I format all the rest since the first to NTFS first thing.

4 out of 5 eggsGood deal

Pros: Has it's own power supply, plus it's a 1TB Hard drive with enclosure for $50

Cons: Case gets hot, poor ventilation. Also it's a pain to take apart if you want to replace the hard drive.

4 out of 5 eggs$49.99 is like stealth

Pros: I got this last week for $49.99 with shipping included when the WD deal still lasted. Cheapest one you can find in the market.
The enclosure for hard drive looks cool, while the heat from inside can still be dissipated very well.
1TB can last very long for my data storage need.

Cons: Writing speed is kinda low- even for a usb 2.0 device - only like 25mb/s, so I would not recommend this to those who's looking forward to placing their HD media data in their external hard drive.
No switch on the device, have to plug in the power cord first every time I tried to use the device.
