Amazing Product
- Pros: * Great product
* Delivers on what it advertises * Works with no notable performance loss for me (see system specs in cons) * New drivers released on a monthly bases from NVIDIA at the time of this post. * Awesome in 1920x1080 * For anyone that plays FFXI, 3D Vision works with it. I spent hours trying to find out if it did or not, but seems no one else has tried it. Works surprisingly well, too. Only bad thing is that using it with the windower does not allow you to take off the Compatibility Overlay in the bottom right corner of the screen. No problems with Vanilla FFXI.
- Cons: While I think 3D Vision is a great product, there are a few minor and one major issue I have experienced with it. For reference, I am running with a GTX 295, 8GB RAM, QX9650 OC'd to 3.6GHZ, using the 3D Vision Full Installation CD Package v1.18A downloaded directly from NVIDIA, with Vista x64 as my OS.
* When playing Aion, the glasses seem to go out of sync after playing for a while. The image slowly begins the split, then there is a flash, followed by the image becoming one again. It loops in faster or slower intervals at random. So far, this has only affected Aion. Most likely it is a driver issue, as this is the only game that does that for me.
* Some games have an "after image" effect in them. It seems kind of random, though. You can sometimes see it when the camera turns in a certain direction, or a facing certain textures. I can't really consider this a major con as most of the time you do not notice. It's usually only apparent when your character is standing idle.
- Other Thoughts: Definitely delivers on the 3D. Admittedly, I was very skeptical at first. Then I saw my first 3D film, Avatar. While the movie was good, what really left an impression on me was the use of 3D. As a skeptic, it showed me the technology could work quite well. I bought an Alienware 1920x1080 120hz display and these glasses once the monitor was available and can't say I regret it.
Some games do work better than others. I will list the things that make certain games not work in cons. Most of the time, however, I see no real problems. 3D effect works and can be adjusted to get more out of it. Each game allows for a custom profile system that is auto loaded for that game once the changes are saved through a hot key. Works with DirectX 8 and up games.
good 3d glasses
- Pros: They look about as cool as they can while still providing sufficient functionality and viewing space. They work awesome with my 60" DLP. Needless to say it adds a whole new dimension to games, old and new.
The battery lasts a long time between charges. I just vegged out almost all weekend and they havent even given the low battery warning. They stop when you look away from the IR emitter and shut themselves off after so long of not being used. They come with a really nice nvidia green microfiber cloth and carrying pouch and differently shaped nose-pieces.
- Cons: Not the most comfortable glasses ever, especially behind the ears. I thought it was just my big head but my short friend tried them on and even he thought they were too tight behind the ears. I find myself sitting the arms higher up on my head so they arent pinching behind my ears so bad, but that kinda angles them weird.
I wish they would have included a hardshell case for the glasses instead of the pouch...
- Other Thoughts: Those who knock points off because of the ghosting effect seen on 3D LCDs need to realize that the issue is exclusive to those monitors and isn't due to the glasses. If this item was the monitor-glasses bundle i could see knocking off points, but these are just the glasses. And regardless of the quality of your display, these things are top notch.
I'd love to see a more comfortable version come out in the near future though, maybe with adjustable length and some softer material around the ears, since I'll probably want to get more glasses for other people to use anyways,.
Very nice quality!
- Pros: Excellent image quality! The effect is amazing and there is no ghosting! I am running it on my Mitsubishi 60 inch DLP TV and the effect is beyond belief! It really immerses you into the game and soon will do the same for 3D Blu Ray when I buy the new 3D Blu Rays that are coming out (plus the Cyberlink PowerDVD 10 Ultra Software and the new Acer GD245HQ monitor)! I cannot wait for that experience!
- Cons: There currently is no support for windowed mode 3D, but that is coming in a future driver this year! Therefore, it is no big deal to be honest!
- Other Thoughts: I highly recommend this product as it appears to have the most games playable in 3D! The other 3D solutions are great, but there are major issues with them!
