Pros: Its a working cd drive, that can burn cds, dvds aswell as play them.

Cons: Pretty Dang noisy. this thing makes more noise than my 5 computer fans.(only when a disc is in it.) It isnt all that fast. although some of the other reviews will say otherwise.

Last but not least. the E-green or ehammer software that comes with it DOES NOT WORK for this model! why the hell would you waste money on burning this disc and sending them with this drive if it doesnt even support it!

Other Thoughts: My final score. 3/5 eggs. Its not a bad drive, IF you want something basic. Hense my title "You get what you pay for"

I will more than likely get another drive through ASUS because I have their sabertooth board and i love it to death. But i will be getting a faster. quieter drive.

Pros: Successful and fast for about 200 burns for me.

Cons: I've gone through 3 of these in a matter of months. They all seem to start failing every other burn or so after about 200 burns. I'm not really sure what to do at this point. I don't want to keep spending $20 after every 200 burns, and from what I've read no one else really had any problems so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

Other Thoughts: As I said, I'm really not too sure what I'm doing here in order for this to happen. I've tried switching up software and obviously I've replaced the burner with the same model numerous times. Either way I still love these burners at $20 a pop even if they fail pretty quick for me. That's the only reason I gave them 4 stars.

Pros: This drive is great. Zero problems with it. Burns CDs lighting fast and burns DVDs very quickly too. Plug and play. Simple and cheap, just the way I like it

Cons: No cons for this baby. Asus makes great stuff

Pros: the dvd drive functions amazingly well for the low price of $17 it was a great deal the drive opens and closes fairly well and install is simple and easy

Cons: the dvd drive is slightly loud when booting and inserting a disk looks fairly ugly

Pros: Still works, you just need to open it with a paper clip. I'm sure if this didn't happen this would have been an awesome product based on the other reviews I've read.

Cons: The eject mechanism broke after a couple weeks.

Other Thoughts: Bought because of high reviews and to replace a external USB optical drive I had been using. Do not want to bother with RMA. Not worth taking apart my machine again and dealing with Newegg's customer service. I was unlucky to get a dud.

Pros: Good drive.
Read/writes at good speeds, Have had no problems with it.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Buy it, seriously. Everything I have bought from ASUS is in great!

Cons: My case has tool-less locks, and it can sometimes be a touch loud; but not enough to knock an egg off. If it bothers you too much, just screw it in

Pros: -Very Quiet (quietest I've ever seen)
-Tray opens and closes quickly
-Seems to read and burn fine

Cons: -First 3 or so burns were coasters, but the it started working...
-A bit loud at power-on as the seek mechanism recalibrates
-Can't force speeds higher than listed by the medium
