2nd DOA in a row
- Pros: None yet
- Cons: The first board was dead on arrival. The second board was dead on arrival. How many times am I going to have to receive a replacement? Never will I buy or recommend another ECS product.
Works decently
- Pros: Worked out of the box with my Athlon II X2 240, 4GB Corsair RAM (2x2GB), DVD burner, HDD, Radeon 5770. Looks nice. Feels solidly built. Nice features for the price (it is priced well, really). Overall just feels like a solid motherboard to build with, ASSUMING you don't want to OC your CPU...
- Cons: The BIOS really suck. It's lacking a lot of options and seems to be more complicated to use than others. Isn't 100% fully compatible with Athlon II (or maybe any AM3 CPU). I can't OC the CPU at all, and I know it's an issue with the motherboard. It's disappointing, but not a big deal. Also, some DDR2 RAM won't run at the full 1066 speed due to compatibility issues.
- Other Thoughts: I wish I wasn't on such a low budget, otherwise I'd probably have spend a bit extra for something like a Gigabyte motherboard. Still, it's a solid motherboard if you're not looking to do tinker much with it.
Love it
- Pros: Dropped a X2 4450e I had laying around and the board is rock solid. Like the ejiffy feature but can't see myself using it that much. 7 64bit installed like a dream. Integrated ATI 3200HD handles most of what I can throw at it and has no problems with any HD content so far. Board is AM3 so when I can pick up a cheap AM3 I will. Did some low end overclocking and hit only 1 bsod when I threw the clock to 245. I put it back to stock it is just rock solid for stability and power consumption. Very satisfied.
- Cons: If you don't have a floppy hooked up the bios default is enabled and I couldn't get 7 to install until I disabled the floppy. Weird.
Ejiffy only works on single drives and not arrays but you can install ejiffy on a seperate drive and it still works!
