wow and more wow
- Pros: ok i now have 3 of them. 90 fps on codwaw temp never get above 45c. i have one computer set up with sli. not real happy with sli right now but might be some of my fault. cpu might not be good enough for it. for the price and what you are getting nothing out there comes close.
- Cons: just one sli not what i was hoping, but might be on my end.
- Other Thoughts: i just wish i had a better cpu. using a amd 7750BE and that seems to be the problem for sli. but more homework needs to be done for that. using an asus m4n72-e i get 60 to 90 fps in sli and single i get 90 plus. might be mobo or cpu who know. i did get the cpu OCed 3.1 and a same change in the fps so might need to get a new cpu.
Mr
- Pros: Unbelievable power for the price - definitely the best price to performance ratio currently (July 09). Incredible customer support 24/7 and based in the great USA. Fantastic build quality. As long as you register your product within 30 days, you get an awesome warranty. You overclock the living s^%t out of this card. I easily reached 725 core memory. The "Precision" tool that EVGA rocks. You don't use the SLI bridge with the new NVIDIA drivers or it will crash your system.
- Cons: The card runs HOT and is really LONG. I think it is about 12 1/2 inches. Mercifully, the PCIe 6 pin connectors are on the top like the reference design. Also, you really need a solid powerful for this card.
- Other Thoughts: I bought one of these in Feb 09. Never had a problem and it runs like a dream. I decided to build an SLI test system. I am using an EVGA 750i board and I purchased another 260 GTX for $150 after rebate from NewEgg. I needed a better PSU, so I went with an Antec EarthWatts 750 which has also performed amazingly well. You do NOT need a 1000W PSU for SLI. An 80+ quality PSU from Antec, Cooler Master, Corsair, Seasonic, etc., should be just fine. Check the amperage on the specs before you buy. You need a solid 40A on each 12V rail.
Nice card
- Pros: This is a powerful card. So far it has run both Company of Heroes and Crysis with a higher fps than my old Asus 4850. It's also a very beautiful card.
- Cons: The pictures shown are slightly different than what arrived at my door. Nothing big though. Also it was supposed to come with a case sticker and mine did not. It's not really a big deal but I would be much more happy if I had the sticker.
- Other Thoughts: I was expecting a little more out of this card but I'm still very impressed. I plan on getting another to SLI.
