3 out of 5 eggsGood drive when it works

Pros: Slide out usb port keeps its size compact.

Cons: I've had this thing for a couple years and it works fine most of the time. The problem is I do a lot of pc repair work and I've had several older systems running XP sp3 that wouldn't recognize this drive no matter what I tried. When I tried my other flash drives on the same systems they worked fine.

Other Thoughts: Would give it 4 stars but I can't trust this thing to work in every PC, so I end up using my other flash drives that I know will work.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Flash Drive

Pros: Worked instantly. Great price. I liked that the USB connector retracted into the unit, protecting it while not in use. No more losing caps.

Cons: Plastic feels a bit thin, but hasn't been an issue.

Other Thoughts: Great memory for the price!! I remember when 1GB flash cost $50.

1 out of 5 eggslasted 6 months

Pros: Low cost

Cons: Lasted about 6 months with almost no use. It is not 1st flash that I owe. Usually 1-2 years is expected.
Retractable socket is not as useful as a cap.

5 out of 5 eggsCan't beat the price

Pros: Very large for a very low price
Transfer rate is good
Connector slides in, no need for a cover

Cons: Could use an attachment to a key ring (has a plastic loop only)... really not an issue

Other Thoughts: Recommended

3 out of 5 eggsFlimsy Construction, Simply "Ok"

Pros: The mechanism on the device is nice, no cap to lose etc. Good price for 4gigs of storage.

Cons: The outer shell is flimsy, it feels like I may break it soon. I wish the plastic was either thicker and more sturdy, or a different material entirely.

There was no keychain attachment, string, etc. I had to make my own... minor nuisance at best.

Other Thoughts: For under $10, I can't complain...good value, works... but I am a bit more abusive on the device since it is attached to my keychain and should have spent an extra $5 for an aluminum model, or something more durable.

5 out of 5 eggsSo far so good.

Pros: Great sale price plus free shipping. Good performance speed from this name brand. No issues with desktop and laptop files, MAC or PC.

Cons: Not a con as far as performance goes but the label sticker isn't great quality, looks like it will peel off.

Other Thoughts: Just got it, will update in future.

2 out of 5 eggsWorked great, until it didn't

Pros: Good capacity for the price (when I bought it)

Cons: Failed after a few months, not very fast

Other Thoughts: Used for about 20-25 reads/writes. Now when I plug it in, Windows recognizes it and assigns it a drive letter, attempting to access it triggers a "Please insert a disk into Removable Disk (G:)" error message. Tested on other PCs and game consoles to make sure it was the drive and not my PC.

I guess you get what you pay for with cheap flash drives. Perhaps I could get Kingston to replace it, but for a cheap drive it is simply not worth the effort and postage. I'll probably buy another cheap one (of a different type/brand) to replace it.
