The Fantom G-Force drives provide a lot of storage at a reasonable price. Plus they offer both USB 2.0 and eSATA connectivity for high speed data transfers. The eSATA connection transfers data at a blazing fast 300MB/s so data will move on and off the drive as soon as you click "save".
The drive will work on PCs with Windows 2000 and newer and Macs with OS X 10.2 or higher.
Pros: Vista recognized it right away and I was able to format it quickly. Works as advertised. It has a nice casing, looks good.
Cons: doesn't come with an eSATA cable, but I suppose that keeps the price down.
Other Thoughts: Once formatted the drive has 931GB of available space.

Pros: --No fan (should be a con? NO): It runs quieter than my computer. In fact, the only way I know it is on is because of the blue light. --The blue light: It looks cool and is not as bright as everyone says. If it really does bother you then just turn it around. --Very cool: It runs at a very low temperature. Despite having no fan, it cools itself just fine. Even moving 120 gigs of stuff onto it right after reformatting didn't get it running hot. --Did I mention quiet?: Yes. --Not too bulky: It's lightweight and pretty easy to carry around and I've definitely seen bigger (of course, I've also seen smaller for about $150 more though). --Fast: For some reason it transfers files faster onto this drive than any of my other drives do via usb. Throw in the fact that you can use the eSata and you're made in the shade. --Cheap: When I purchased mine it was a bit more than it is now and it was still very much worth it. --The design: It looks cool and fits pretty much anywhere.
Cons: --Rebate: If you're one of those people who send them in, then good for you and hope you don't end up needing to return it. It's still a great value without the rebate but I would have preferred to simply have that price discounted. --Takes forever to format: Have you ever tried formatting 1TB? --Doesn't come with the eSata cable (then again, what does?). --It's quiet: It does actually take a little bit of getting used to; that's how quiet it is. For the first few days I really couldn't tell when my stuff was done being transferred (with most drives you can just wait for the clinking to stop). After about a week you get used to it. This con really only applies to people who have purchased and used many other external drives. --The stand: The stand is the only part that is plastic and while it grips and works perfectly, it feels a little bit cheesy compared to the rest of the drive.
Other Thoughts: I waited a while to give a review on this after hearing mixed reviews. I've had it for a good couple of months and this is WELL worth it. Often the rebate doesn't get sent and while this was one of those cases, this drive was one of the best buys that i've ever made (with regards to external drives) even without the rebate (then again, sending it in clears liability). Overall; an incredible buy and probably the best drive that I've ever had.

Pros: Fast transfer. I've had this a few months and it's been running well. Since there are no fans in the case, it is fairly quiet. The case itself is very study, being of all metal construction.
Cons: The detachable base that it comes with is of plastic construction, but still seems pretty sturdy. I usually have the drive sitting on it's side anyways.
Other Thoughts: Like others have said, no eSATA cable, though I did not mind since it would just add to the cost and I just needed USB.
