- Pros: Small, portable, seemingly decently built. It is a nice webcam. It works with both Gentoo Linux (kernel 2.6.30) and Windows XP. Works well with Skype for Windows 4.x and Skype for Linux 2.x despite what other reviews have said.
- Cons: Would be nice to to have a physical lens cover
- Other Thoughts: I didn't test some of higher resolutions since I only plan on using this for video conferencing.
didn't work with skype on ubuntu 9.04
- Pros: works fine with windows xp pro. solid mike and the video is good quality, although delayed, but i guess all cameras are that way.
- Cons: didn't work with skype beta on ubuntu 9.04. it did work once with skype in the test mode, but then wouldn't show video after that. didn't work with ekiga either.
the mike didn't work at all in ubuntu 9.04. it has something to do with the device not wanting to work with pulse audio. i found workarounds on the internet, but none of them worked.
- Other Thoughts: this camera was on the hardware list to work with linux. maybe with another distro, but not with ubuntu 9.04
Does not work in Linux
- Pros: Works in Windows XP, Vista. Acceptable light balancing. Built-in mic cancels feedback well on a notebook. Works in Skype.
Webcam has an intrinsic clicking noise, which is filtered by Windows drivers.
- Cons: Although video works in Linux, the audio is not filtered and the clicking noise appears. Logitech does not support Linux for this webcam. Do not buy it if you are a Linux user.
