Developed by Amsterdam-based Guerrilla, Killzone PS3 is a military first-person shooter that builds upon the 2004 PlayStation title. A non-linear and intensely cinematic gameplay experience that combines elements from multiple genres, Killzone thrusts players even deeper into the conflict between the ISA and Helghast. Set in a rich and highly interactive world, the game aims to set the benchmark for facial and character animation, advanced physics, destructible environments, sound and special FX. Combining on-foot and vehicle combat across air, land, and sea, with both off-line play and a customizable on-line portion, Killzone should be one of the premier shooters of the next-generation.

Best Console FPS.
- Pros: Graphical Quality: 5/5. This is IT folks. Not CG, but the closest any game has come so far. Silky smooth movement, hit response, death animations, and physics effects. The explosions are something to behold in this game, and the grenades are absolutely invaluable. Character models interact with the environment, and react realistically to being shot. There is no better FPS experience than this on a console. The lighting is eerily good.
AI: 5/5. In a word, scary. Enemies use cover, and actually flank you if give the chance. You feel like you always need to watch your back because they will sneak up on you, and not because they spawn behind you; they don't. Your team mates' AI might be quacky at times, but nothing's perfect.
Control: 4/5. The aiming is sluggish, but you can easily get used to it. It's more realistic than CoD. It helps immerse you in the game play. You feel like you're actually turning.
Sound: 5/5. I don't have a surround sound setup, but it sounds g
- Cons: None. It looks the developers hit their point of aim with this game.
- Other Thoughts: I usually feel like I'm getting robbed when I pay ~$60 for a game, but not this time.
If you own a PS3, BUY THIS GAME!
Play this game in HD and you feel like you're in a war zone, more so than while playing CoD 4, and probably just as much as in CoD: World at War. This is a strategic war game that forces you to use cover, grenades, and your wit. The game play is silky smooth except when loading a new area, but that's to be expected in any game on any system that doesn't have unlimited resources. The action is flawless.
I notice how most people rate their Tech Knowledge as "Somewhat High" or "High." The moment I see thoughtless typos, poor grammar, and biased reviews, I ignore their reviews.
Do you need another reason to buy a PS3?
- Pros: --Perhaps the best console graphics ever--rivaled only by MGS4.
--Supreme attention to detail--from character details, to level artwork and overall complexity in the environments, to feel of gameplay, to controls--everything feels extremely realistic. --Excellent sound and use of sound effects to create immersion in a warzone environment. --Excellent AI considering this is perhaps one of the most difficult aspects in gaming to program. --Extremely addictive online play. You WILL have days of nothing but KILLZONE2!
- Cons: --Online system could have slightly more depth. Perhaps more upgrades will come with time, but the last three achievable ranks give you nothing extra, and there are no ranks beyond those.
--Rockets do get annoying, but as a previous reviewers stated, there are NO ROCKET games created by real gamers who hate rockets. --Storyline leaves you hanging--but it leaves you ready for KILLZONE 3!!
- Other Thoughts: Those of you out there who truly appreciate quality gaming at its best, NEED to have this game in your arsenal. It is a true measure of what the future holds for gaming and I was impressed from start to finish.

Great Shooter
- Pros: Great story mode/Great controls/Great on-line play/ and it looks fantastic. I have played both Borderlands, and cod/mwf2 . They are both are great fps titles, but I still find myself playing kz2 on-line.
- Cons: none
killer
- Pros: One of the best console games I have ever played. The single-player campaign is intense and worth the money alone. Amazing graphics, makes call of duty look dated.
- Cons: I didn't get this game sooner. I also wish it had co-op.
- Other Thoughts: Working on veteran mode now, intense!
one of the best ps3 titles
- Pros: great graphics. great FPS.
- Cons: wish the enemies varied a bit more.
- Other Thoughts: This is a great game to own for the PS3. Got mine off of newegg for a GREAT price! Thanks Newegg!!!
