Rating + 3 Stable but inadequate

Pros: Worked without a hitch for over a year. Easy to flash the bios.

Cons: The x16 slot is not compatible with an 8800GT (Tested and confirmed with newest bios). There is only one SATA II (3.0) slot which can't be used as a boot partition, the rest are SATA I (1.5). Also, the floppy connector is at the very bottom of the board, making it a difficult reach.

Other Thoughts: The board may be stable, but due to bad design it simply isn't worth your money. Do some research before you buy.

Rating + 4 Great for Windows Home Server

Pros: Installs easy. GB ethernet seems fast. Good HD access. Great Windows Home Server board.

Cons: No integrated video. No on-board FireWire. Integrated video would be great for Windows Home Server. Used an old video card instead. Installed my own FW card.

Other Thoughts: Used this for a Windows Home Server. Removed all the drives from my old Terastation and installed them on this board. Much better experience - faster than old Teratstation.

Rating + 5 Good, medium priced board

Pros: Dual P-ATA connectors (becoming more uncommon these days in lower end boards).
Good built in audio, good built in LAN.
eSATA connector
Good, simple bios with overclocking features (as with all Asus boards).
Asus O-connector (makes it super easy to connect front panel switches and LEDs).

Cons: VIA chipset isnt' the fastest out there (compared to nforce).
Board layout has some problems... see other thought section.

Other Thoughts: The 24-pin power connector is southwest of the CPU socket, which means your power supply cables get pretty close to your fan, and they cover your CPU tunnel in the side of most cases. Also, the floppy connector is at the very bottom of the board, pretty dumb place to put it. There are only three fan connectors, and two of them are right next to one another (other Asus boards have them scattered, allowing for cleaner wire installation).

Overall, this board is a good buy, especially because it holds up to Asus's reputation for making stable boards.

Rating + 5 NICE!

Pros: Great board for the price. Like the PCI and the Dual IDE. 4 DIMM Slots. Good.

Cons: Fan connectors are WAY on the other side...no way for a rear fan to connect unless you have a long cable.

Other Thoughts: Got this thing working with an AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200+ and an ATi Radeon HD 2600XT so not bad at all.
The only thing is SATA II is nonbootable and the fan connectors.
except for that Great Board.

Rating + 4 Good Stable Board

Pros: Good stability. I liked this board enough to buy a second one to replace a nVxxxa board. I noticed there is no other circuitry within close proximity of the sound chip on the board, so the sound is clear without interference.

Cons: Doesn't have as many overclocking features as some other boards, limited to FSB. No options for memory overclocking, just the option to change voltages.

Rating + 5 Great Board for Cheap

Pros: Great features for an inexpensive board. Room to spare with Cooler Master 64 and large video card.

Cons: Color could have been better (brown?), and only 2 sata ports are available for RAID, although there are more sata ports on the board. Ports for mobo power in a stupid location far from PS.

Other Thoughts: Got up and running in no time, after figuring out how to access the RAID menu (trust your monitor, not what the manual says, it is a typo). Running X2 5200, Sapphire x1900xtx, 2gb Corsair XMS, 2x Raptor 10,000 RPM 74gb in RAID 0, 550w Antec HE PS, everything works fine.

Rating + 2 Full featured but Poor Execution

Pros: Certified for and runs Vista. No problems installing and running XP Pro or Vista Ultimate 32; drivers are fine. VIA chipsets still work well. Full complement of PCI, PATA, etcetera connectors, all of which I needed.

Cons: Miserable board layout. The worst part is placing the PCI-E x16 slot right next to the PCI slots. The second worst is the orientation of the PATA connectors. Floppy connector is a stretch in a larger case. Serial port dead, after finding a connector/bracket for the COM header. Weak USB - neither a flash drive nor a small external drive would work, even though recognized. Lots of annoying background system noise in the sound system, at least until I found that it seemed to be feedback through the microphone input and muted it.

Other Thoughts: This was my second attempt to get a satisfactory XP/Vista dual boot system running. (First was a Biostar NF4UAM2G.) I thought I could live with the poor layout after I managed packing all my components and cabling into the tight slot and connector area (couldn't have done done it if I wasn't water-cooling my 8800), but the dead serial port and nonfunctional USB ports doomed this board for me. I've always been satisfied with ASUS, but this thing is an ill-conceived dud.

Rating + 4 Good But With A Couple Issues

Pros: I give it a four. Lots a features. 4 IDE channel. Gigabyte LAN. 4 DIMM Slots.

Cons: I had to return becuase of a compatability issue with ANTEC power supplys. I was able to use but couldn't get the CPU fan to run. See Google for more information.

A little crowded around the expansion slots. Board components could be arranged better.

If you run Linux you need to download the network driver from Via.

Documentation and website a little weak but not terrible.

Rating + 5 Good, Stable Motherboard

Pros: This is a good MB for the price. There is no system static with the onboard sound. The Atansic Gigabyte ethernet works great.
I have this MB paired with a X2 4200 CPU. This MB is really quick and stable. I will definitely use this board again.

Cons: This MB would become unstable if FSB was over 210Mhz. Does not overclock as well as some. I think the chipset gets too hot when you try to overclock it too far, but not really a con. A slight overclock is fine for me.

Other Thoughts: I've liked all VIA chipset systems I've built in the past. Seems to be more stable and reliable than the NVidia.

Rating + 5 lovin it

Pros: this board worked right out of the box... have not had any issues with it at all... only once have i had to open the case to reset the bios, but that was because i was messing around with overclocking

Cons: none. it does what i want it to do and handles newer games quite well with a AMD Athlon 64 3800+ and a sapphire x1600xt

Other Thoughts: it was slightly more expensive when i bought it... but i must have got one of the good batches based on some of the other reviews i read
