Extra header pin
Pros: Installed in XP using XP drivers. All worked as planned.
Cons: Internal USB header had 10 pins not 9 (unusual). I had to clip one of the extra ground pins to plug it in. A quick look at the back of the card revealed ground pins.
Worked well and XP install for the card reader (power by the header pins). All is well.

Great solution
Pros: It's at a great price. USB 2.0 and Firewire both work well... both the onboard, and internal jacks. I even have my case's USB ports plugged into the 9-pin USB header on the card, and they work fine.
Cons: As another reviewer said, the documentation included is sparse.
Other Thoughts: I've owned theis card for almost 2 years. None of the ports have ever failed.

Pros: -Installed without a hitch. -Worked fine with default Microsoft drivers under Windows Server 2003 R2
Cons: -documentation included was very brief. -prevous reviews commented about the inability to use the onboard and external USB/Firewire ports simultaneously (but I wont be doing that... if I was it might be an issue).
Other Thoughts: Shipping was fine as usual with newegg. I bought this card partially based on the picture from the newegg site. It was installed in a IBM x305 1U rack mount server with a PCI-X riser card and I needed a card that would work in that slot with two notches in the PCI connector. The card worked perfectly. I was having trouble locating the correct type of card online and without the picture it would have been more difficult and probably more expensive to find the right card. So far I'm happy... I havent tried the firewire ports yet and probably wont use them. I really just wanted the USB2.0 ports since my server only had USB1.0 built in.

Just Plain Junk
Pros: I can't say one single good thing about this card, and Syba's technical support and customer service were no better.
Cons: Most of the cards wouldn't even fit into the PCI slots correctly without tweaking the mounting bracket. Those cards that even came on would only work for weeks or months before failing. Several BSOD's and one damaged motherboard.
Other Thoughts: I bought, sold and installed dozens of these cards as either stand alone cards or in conjunction with front panel card readers. After 2 years I have now had to replace EVERY SINGLE CARD. Some worked for days, weeks or months and some never worked at all. Try the PPA card or the Rosewill, and if you don't mind the price tag the Belkin is still the strongest add-on card of this style. Avoid this card AT ALL COSTS!

Works with Ubuntu 7.10
Pros: this card just works with Ubuntu 7.10. lspci and the results are comforting. Tried the USB (iPod) and Firewire (video capture), both work. I am doing the marketing job for them.
Cons: none.

Works Great
Pros: Does exactly what it promises. The USB 2.0 works and the firewire. Did not install any drivers from the disk, just let Windows do it.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: The card works fine on Windows XP sp2.

This little oufit works perfectly on my XP Machine
Pros: No real complaints, Wanted to upgrade to USB 2.0 for my Ipod Nano. This baby is the ticket when combined with the " USB 2.0 + IEEE 1394 Firwire, Combo Bay Hub" installed in my 3.5" empty drive slot.
Cons: Notta !!
Other Thoughts: Works perfect. Good Job again Newegg.com Thanks

Hit or miss
Pros: No problem setting up in XP SP2, just plug it in and your done. Lots of ports for very short money. Does not require any additional power, gets it all from the PCI bus.
Cons: USB 2.0 absolutely would not work in one machine. The driver disk appears to have nothing to do with the card so it is utterly worthless. 4 stars because it works flawlessly in some machines and is dirt cheap.
Other Thoughts: I toiled for days to try to get USB 2.0 to work in a Dell C/Dock II docking station for my laptop (the dock can be opened up and and accepts 2 PCI cards). The drivers were all loaded fine (though I tried many replacements), but a USB device 2.0 would be identified and mounted, but then XP Pro would throw an error immediately after saying the device had malfunctioned and needed to be replaced. Same story with AC-powered devices, flash drives, bus-powered, etc. None worked. The best I could do was to disable the Enhanced controller and then all devices worked as USB 1.1 devices. Firewire 1394a was no problem and worked fine right out of the box. Moved the card to an old Compaq Presario desktop running XP home and the card worked great for USB 2.0 and Firewire. Instead of trying another PCI card in my notebook's docking station, I bought a Combo Cardbus PC Card for the notebook itself and now I finally have USB 2.0 and Firewire working there too.
