The Best
Pros: Had for a while, worked beautifully in all games-until I got NFS Shift. Horrible crackling, distortion, like major hardware failure-but it worked fine in all other aspects. Emailed HT Omega, got an answer within hours, with suggestions and a new driver not listed on their website. Did the driver thing, and whammo, crystal clear multi channel sound. The best response from a consumer base company I've ever seen. On top of a great card, what more could one ask for?
Cons: Bestest driver not on website-yet.
Other Thoughts: CYA Creative. ;-)

Very proven card
Pros: clear audio, slight gain in performance when gaming, optical input and output, supplied optical cable, did i mention CRYSTAL CLEAR audio!
Cons: software seems a bit dated... hasn't been an update for a while... i guess thats just cause its a very proven reliable card
Other Thoughts: waaaaay better than my onboard realtek sound. would constantly hear a distorsion in the background when accessing the hard drive. the optical cable included is HUGE! a lot of footage.. too bad pci is dying slowly. almost all are being blocked by our huge dual slot video cards.

Bob
Pros: This is an addendum to my previous glowing review. I recently purchased a new speaker system and had some questions about connections. I sent HT Omega an e-mail on the Sunday before Labor Day, not expecting to hear back until sometime during the following week. To my surprise, I received a response from Tech Support within 2 hours, asking for some additional information. I sent back a reply and then received a second response within two hours that fully answered my questions. I was blown away by the high standard of service and professionalism.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: HT Omega is a small company making a quality product in a niche market. They are clearly putting in a tremendous effort to do it well. At a time like this, when poor manufacturing and even poorer customer service are the rule, you've gotta love these guys.

Good Card, terrible drivers
Pros: Sounds great when everything is working correctly. Pleanty of I/Os for desktop DJs.
Cons: Simply, the drivers are junk. From the installer to the application that controls the card itself, they all stink. I had the card installed for 6 months, and removed it to rummage around in my case. Once i put it back, it was reading conflicts. I uninstalled the drivers, and ATTEMPTED to reinstall. The installer would endlessly repeats the progress bar and would never finish. Also, something on the card would showup as "generic gameport" even when the card was installed and working. Drivers haven't been updated since Jan2009, i think they're definitly due to fix these problems. Also, fix the interface for the application, it looks like some kinda bubblegum 80s attempt at style.
Other Thoughts: I would gladly reinstall the card if the driver problems were fixed. For now, the card sits lonely and cold in my closet. Great product but bad software support.

HT Omega
Pros: Very clean, low noise. Has lots of different encoders available, and they DO work well. I am hooked through a TOSLINK cable to a Onkyo A/V recieiver, and to my HDTV. And, Video from computer via HDMI to Onkyo to TV. Good speakers, and you get a GREAT system, that uses the audio card for the HEART of the computer input portion of that system.
Cons: DRIVERS-since HT CANNOT by law write their own drivers, (Cmedia or their parent co. will NOT allow it). SO, since the company that makes the audio processor does a VERY poor job of keeping updated and high quality drivers out, WE are the injured parties. That, we can only suffer with. But, maybe if we bother HT enough via email, they can get ENOUGH lawyers on the job, and "TALK" Cmedia into releasing the rights to allow the buyers of their audio processors, to write their own drivers.
Other Thoughts: Overall, WELL worth the money, and, it does NOT have all the idiosyncracies of the WORLD owning "SB" cards. NO snap crackle pop. OH, I HOPE everybody can get their questions answered via email. They do NOT give a phone number ANYWHERE. And, to ME, SOMETIMES, a voice contact is NECESSARY.

Nice card
Pros: Great card with lots of nice features such as real-time DTS and Dolby encoding. Noticed an improvement in audio quality over my onboard audio especially in high bitrate mp3's and in watching movies. Have this card in my HTPC connected to Logitech Z-5500's. I like the equalizer profiles in the manager software. Good price for the features.
Cons: There's an issue with the Win7 x64 drivers for this card where it launches both the 32-bit and 64-bit processes for the sound manager. I couldn't open the sound manager app to select S/PDIF as the output until I killed the 32-bit sound manager process.
Other Thoughts: A great card with just a minor issue using the 64-bit edition of Win7. Since Win7 is still just RTM and the retail hasn't been released yet hopefully this will be fixed.

not bad
Pros: I got this card for the digital out for my home theater, upgrading from onboard analog. Setup was easy and the best part I didn't have to configure the codecs; the drivers did it all and the its easy to configure.
Cons: The DTS Interactive and DDlive was disappointing; the stereo surround, was just that, stereo sound in surround. It's actually good for music-it gives a good enveloped sound stage, but for movies, it just sounded ok. I played with the setting alot and the configuration menu locked up and I had to reinstall the drivers
Other Thoughts: Stereo can include ac3/prologic surround and the card will not process that, it will just do the stereo left/right in surround. So I just have digital PCM out to process the surround on my receiver, which any other digital card can do, but at least I didn't have to mess with the codecs.

The best of all Sound Cards
Pros: This card is easy to setup even in Vista. The negative reviews are unwarranted. Sound is crisp and clear and even the microphone levels are spot on. The tuning application allows for equalizer type settings and 'magic voice' for disguising your voice in online games and chat rooms. All audio comes through crystal clear and does not slow down the system i n the least.
Cons: You might consider the price to be a little high, but it really is worth it compared to bloatware cards and audio that loads processing onto the CPU like the popular one does.
Other Thoughts: This card is worth every penny!
