Rating + 5 Excellent choice

Pros: Easy to set up, easy to forward ports with, fast speeds. Was able to connect to my laptop which has a wireless G card, as well as my netbook which has a wireless N card. (Wireless N speeds were noticably faster than G). Have also connected by Blackberry wirelessly, and my desktop remains plugged directly into the router.

I can't really comment on the range as my apartment isn't that big (1 bedroom with concrete walls) but I get full bars anywhere within it.

Was able to set up printer sharing relatively easily, have not tried streaming video or audio from one PC to another yet, but will get to it eventually.

Running this bad boy on Windows 7 64 Home and no issues to speak of. Laptop and Netbook are both running Vista Home.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Received it in less than 24 hours.

I updated the firmware immediatly after purchasing.

Rating + 4 Double edge

Pros: Its 2x-3x quicker than Link WRT310. External & Removable antennas. Has an adjustable power output (antenna) from low, med, high. Its not a linksys

Cons: It doesn't have the distance of the 54. Can't seem to boost the signal with a signal booster. Mite be somthing D-Link does in the build, don't know. The advanced setup takes a lil bit of getting use to cus its different than the way Linksys does theres, that & i never had to use a dang CD to setup the router with XP or Vista. The set up takes at least 20-30mins. Also call support to make sure you get the right update and not jack your router up. Power adapter is not a wall hugger, it sticks straight out.

Other Thoughts: Tha best part is that the download ripps linksys a new 1; there's no competition. My old speed test was 10mb down & 5-6up (linksys). now with just the router its like 20-30mb but the upload is 1-2mb (D-Link). The other bit of info would be if u have 2 routers and ones the linksys, the linksys DCHP is off the speed is limiting like 10-15mb. Thats my setup now.

Rating + 4 Solid Router

Pros: Once the router is set up on one computer, it was very easy to set up the rest. This is a huge improvement over my old Linksys WR-54G in range and speed. I also upgraded the internal wireless cards in my laptops and am running the wireless network as N only. Haven't tried the USB port yet, but am looking forward to some network storage.

Cons: Initially would not be recognized by my Dell Inspiron 9300 when plugged directly in. Had to set up the network on a different computer and then connect wirelessly with the Dell (which had no problems connecting to my Linksys router when via Ethernet cable). The router started dropping connection on all our laptops randomly. When I finally found where to change the channel, the network stopped dropping connections. The default is "auto" which supposedly finds the channel with the least interference. However, that feature obviously does not work. I manually set the channel to a frequency that most differs from my cordless phone - problem solved.

Other Thoughts: The interface is also not as easy to navigate as the Linksys interface.

Rating + 4 2 Years and Few Issues

Pros: Fast and FAST! Fast while gaming on hard wired desk top and almost as fast wireless. Easy wireless connection. Never drops wireless. Has great range. Best I have ever owned out of several other brands. It simply works.

Cons: Needs an occasional reboot about once a week with internet connection loss (not sure why), which is a small price to pay considering its outstanding performance and other Pros. A little on expensive side.

Other Thoughts: I have owned the wireless router since it was first put on the shelves. I had just bought a new "N" card laptop and wanted the speed.

The reason I went with N was the distance I wanted, rather then just the speed. With several G routers, I couldn't get wireless by my pool in the backyard.

So I bought this without knowing how well it would work (no reviews). It has exceeded every need. I game on it (hard wired) and my laptop (wireless) is as fast as any wired connection. I stream my Slingbox in "HD" to my laptop wireless. Runs flawless. I watch Hulu in HD. Again perfect.

The range of wireless is almost full stregth form backyard at my pool and the router is upstairs in a bedroom on far side of house. A stucco house BTW. This includes "B" wireless range.

Every wireless divice that I have Iphone, Netbook, Laptop has been easy to setup and once done, never has a problem "automatically" connecting and staying connected.

Minus 1 egg for the occasional reboot needed.

Rating + 4 Almost perfect

Pros: I love the Dlink router setup interface. I have used almost every brand of router out there, and DLinks interface tends to be in depth and easy to use.
I bought two of these to be used in conjunction with each other. They work seamlessly. I have one set up as the main DHCP server, the other is hardlined and acts as an access point.
Both were shipped with the latest firmware. I bought these in November 09.
At home I use the DIR-655 which I find has a little bit better throughput, but not by much. Probably because of all the clients I have on these two.

Cons: Every once in a while, my second router will drop connection to some of the clients. But rarely. I never have to reboot, just a reconnect. I definitely don't have some of the problems that others have had. These two things run 24 hours a day, with up to 60 clients connected at any one time. So far so good, but couldn't give a 5 egg rating because of the sporadic loss of connection on only some clients. I think it may be because of their network chips, but haven't truly put enough time investigating it.

Other Thoughts: I have used and set up, every kind of router of every brand. The past few years I have found DLink on top. Could always change as time goes on but, I don't think you can go wrong with the DIR-625, 655, or the 825. I have these set up with a cable connection and a static ip. I notice many of the newest routers have trouble with the new DSL modem setups or fiber. If I had to I would buy these again.

Pros: D-Link makes great network components. They have been making quality products for years. I bought a D-Link router 3 years ago and works great. So I bought same router again. Its works just as good as the other.

Rating + 5 Solid wireless router

Pros: Stability and range are 2 reasons you should purchase this router. The router is rock solid stable. I've had it running for almost a year and there hasn't been a single issue. The range on the router is very decent for the price you pay, I've positioned the router at various locations around the house (even extreme corners) and never had a problem with signal reception even through walls.

Speeds seems to be decent, I've had wireless G and N laptops connect at the same time with no noticeable decrease in performance. It supports all the usual encryption protocols, WEP, WPA, WPA2 (AES and TKIP). It also supports hybrid mode for maximum compatibility. I've had it running with the wireless adapter on the Xbox 360 and PS3 with no problems.

You can do the usual port forwarding to various different ports. The web management interface is easy to understand and provides plenty of security options to configure your router. The device runs cool and doesn't have any overheating problems.

Cons: The only slight con I have is, I did have a problem connecting a very old laptop with a very old Dlink 802.11b wireless card. But it was most likely the cards fault as it didn't even support WPA or WPA 2. Not a huge deal as it has worked with everything else.

Other Thoughts: I usually don't post reviews of products until I've had "plenty" of time to play with the product. Since I've owned this product for over a year and haven't had a single problem with it, I'm sure there are others that would love to know this. This is a great no frills home wireless router. Just be sure to upgrade the firmware to the latest version before you start using it.

Rating + 2 Skanty Transfer

Pros: It is adaptable with other network devices, easy to configure, cheap, works and lasts.

Cons: After trying a updates and several network configurations I am unable to get more than an actual 1.25MB/s or 10Mb/s transfer between a win2k with netgear N wireless at 300Mb/s strong connection to a vista with a belkin wireless g at 54Mb/s stong connection. I've seen this before browsing works great because most web connections are way slower than a wireless connection. And then try a file transfer and it's like your downloading it off the internet from the other room. I mean come on 10Mb/s is no where near the even 54 advertised and considering 1000Mb/s and 10000Mb/s is out there this is ridiculous.

Other Thoughts: The best transfer I had was on 2 wired cat5 rj45 showing 100Mb/s connection got almost avg. 10MB/s or 80Mb/s 80% of possible. Second best was 100Mb/s wired to 300Mb/s wireless at 4MB/s. 54Mb/s to 100Mb/s wired posted about 2Mb/s. And finally N card at 54Mb/s and G at 54Mb/s still posted about 1MB/s. Give me 300Mb/s actual transfer or give me a wired connection or death.
