Rating + 5 Great

Pros: Very Solid Build, Awesome Colors. It works great so far and comes with every wire you could ever need to hook up your fans!

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Google some reviews about this product, it checks out! I will buy another one of these when the time comes

Rating + 5 Can't find anything wrong with it.

Pros: Looks great, color can be changed to match your scheme, looks great in my CoolerMaster Cosmos S case.

Cons: It isn't free, doesn't set itself up, and doesn't control 10 fans. :)

Other Thoughts: Would be nice if the audio section could be used for something else, I'm never going to hook it up.

Rating + 3 nice but not still looking for better

Pros: Very well build unit. Solid and impressive. Liked the ability to change display color to match my system.

Cons: Unfortunately, the alarms values are fixed (temp and RPM) and not adjustable and the temp values are way to high to be useful. Alarm shuts off too early, don't miss it.

Other Thoughts: I liked the construction but didn't like to fixed alarm values and ended up sending it back.

Rating + 4 Looks great, Solid build, Working well so far

Pros: I've tried attaching several different types of fans and so far they have all worked. I currently have this controlling three 68CFM Scythe Slipstream Fans.

The unit is well built and feels solid. The choice of colors for the LCD makes it easy to match to your case and the screen is bright, clear, and easy to read.

Cons: The sound volume controller seems kind of useless.

I haven't tried the temperature probles as there really isn't anything I'd want to attach them to other than the GPU and CPU. From what I've read, these probes don't seem to be made to be attached to these parts without breaking.

Other Thoughts: I am mainly got this for the looks and for some basic fan speed control. If that is what you are looking for then this is a great product.

Rating + 5 great readings

Pros: all the sensors work and read within a few degreas of the bios h/w monitor

Cons: if you damage a sensor they are almost inposible to replace and if you don't replace them the unit will beep because it thinks it's too cold to run a computer and if you short it it will think its over 120 degreas C and beep

Rating + 4 KAMA METER

Pros: Pretty, lots of colors, changeable face plates, works as intended.

Cons: not all of the fans in my case are 3 pin connectors and therefore can not be used with this controller, i knew that going into it though.

Other Thoughts: If you want a fairly accurate (within 2 degrees C) temperature monitor that can also control case fans and the volume of you speakers this is the one to go for.

Rating + 2 my wasn’t good

Pros: Solid build. No cheap plastic parts. It offers interchangeable front panel in silver, beige and black color to match the case. Nice display, and background color selection is awesome.

Cons: Temperature probes attachment system is inadequate – I used sticking tapes provided with the product to install probes in my PC. After ~ hr of PC operation, all probes simply detached. This should be communicated to manufacturer as It poses serious shorting problem if stripped probes touch the board.
Fan control defective – connected four fans to each channel. All fans within spec for maximum power draw and device is unable to regulate speed; it stays locked in minimum speed

Other Thoughts: I have been using TT for all my past builds, but I decided to try something new. This product turned out to be nothing more but pretty front light. Concerning split amount of very bad and very good comments about this product, leads me to believe that manufacturer probably has a bad quality assurance, which allows for some bad parts to go on the market. Whatever the case may be, my wasn’t good and I am not intending to try it again. RMAed for refund.

Rating + 5 I love this little guy!

Pros: I recently built a QX9650 system with 3xSLI and it runs fairly hot. I was getting rare lockups and I thought they might be due to overheating so I wanted a standalone temperature monitor which would still be running after a lockup. I'm using the temperature monitors on my 8800GTX's (1,2,3) plus the CPU (4). The fan speed is useful for some Antec fans I'm using, less so for the Scythe S-Flexes because they're almost silent anyway. The display on this is great and looks really nice in my Coolermaster Stacker case.

Cons: 1) Does introduce yet more wires to worry about. In my 3xSLI case with 7 fans, it is a cable management nightmare even in a big case like the CM Stacker.

2) I'm not using the volume control, it seems a bit pointless to have that on the front of the case like that, but it's not really in the way. If you don't want it you can leave the wires off (they're all modular).

3) The analog-style gauges for temperature only go to 100 so they're only useful if you set it to deg C, not F, unless you're water-cooling (I'm not). But they do look cool.

Other Thoughts: 1) Some reviewers said the instructions were inadequate, but I think they may have been improved now. I found adequate. It's impossible to connect anything wrong due to the connector size & gender, but the button functions require some guesswork if you don't read the instructions.

2) I stuck the GPU thermocouples just off-centre from the back of each 8800GTX chip. They indicate about 3 C below the temperature I get from the onboard sensors (e.g. through Everest software).

3) This is a great bargain. I'd buy two if I could think what to use the second one for.

4) The lockups on my system were due to a too-low VCore, not the heat, but I wouldn't want to be without this now.

5) Oh yeah, NewEgg rocks :)

Rating + 5 Surprisingly well made

Pros: The thing that really amazed me about this unit - no plastic! Genuine metal case, face plates and mounting tabs. It seems very well made and looks great installed. The changeable face plates and LCD colors make it fit right in with just about any style. Generous wire leads, including fan power extensions, make it easy to install. With a 12w rating it'll handle almost any fan you want.

Cons: While I like having the ability to adjust sound volume from this panel the way it is done (jumper from your rear audio jack to a PCI slot jack) looks sloppy and isn't very versatile. If you don't use that function then 1/3 of your display is rendered useless. The temp display gauge is nice, but using it in fahrenheit mode on anything over 100f (37.7c) pins it (digital is still readable though) since the scale is 0-100. Kind of alarming until you either shift to centigrade or do the math in your head.

Other Thoughts: The temp sensors ARE very fragile, and I wonder why they chose to use this particular type. I've seen others that are epoxy encapsulated, and much more durable. For the price I'd like to see them include at least one spare, and a few more tape strips for when you change your mind about where you want the sensors. Does NewEgg sell either of these as replacements?

There's also an alarm function built into this unit, but it's preset for 90c (194f) and non-adjustable. Personally, I'd like to know a lot sooner if stuff is getting hot. At 90c you won't need the alarm, the smell will get your attention.

Pros: Looks awesome. Different faceplate options. Different display colors if you have a "theme" going with your case. All Pros are purely asthetic.

Cons: Hard to install heat sensors. I can't control the speed of my fans (which is 50% of the reason for buying this). The RPM knob does nothing. Hard to understand instructions.

Other Thoughts: Would I buy this product again? Probably not.

Pros: This Fan Control Unit looks great and the quality seems good too. Love being able to change the color of the LCD Screen!

Cons: At First had a problem, couldnt get the LCD screen to change colors. After Playing with it for awhile it seems that u must press the button to change the color kinda hard in order for it to make contact.

Rating + 5 Great Looking Meter

Pros: Looks great in the Antec Solo case. Works great. Appears to be acurate. Good customer service. Broke one of the temp probes and Scythe sent me four new probes for four bucks plus shipping.

Cons: Used "drive rails" from antec to mount. Not sure Kama Meter could be mounted with out these. Not a real CON but probes are very fragile..becareful.

Other Thoughts: I removed heatsinks from GA-EP35C-DS3R CPU NB SB and ATI 1950 GPU and placed probe as close to chip as possible. Not useing the rear panel audio/volume option. MAX 12 WATTS PER FAN!!!! 12VDC fan must use less than 1 AMP. If you hang more than one fan on a fan controller circuit it will smoke this meter!

Pros: This unit looks very cool. It also has three different colored faceplates to match most case colors. Screen color is also adjustable - blue/red/green/etc.

Cons: Nothing works very well. Temp sensors vary by as much as 20 degrees F, fan speed adjustment doesn't work past the first few mintues beyond post, alarms for no apparent reason that I can find and alarms cannot be manually overridden, audio passed through is flat and the pot crackles when the volume is adjusted. After 10 days in operation, the only thing I'm happy with is the button that changes the display color. But it looks cool.

Other Thoughts: I generally don't write bad product reviews but this one has some serious firmware flaws. You will need time to work with it (because the documentation only covers installation, not operation) or be willing to return it. I have been trying to make it work for about 10 days but just can't seem to get it to behave as expected.

Rating + 4 Read the Specs First!!

Pros: Sturdy build, nice display, works as advertised.

Cons: Sound display doesn't display active decibel pressure. Temperature range could be better.

Other Thoughts: This controller comes with 4 channels NOT capable of exceeding 12W PER channel.

That means Amperage draw is limited to 1.0 or under because case fans run at 12V.

Watts = Volts x Amps

Don't listen to these bad reviews by kids who don't seem to have a grasp of basic math and physics. They broke their units all by themselves.

DO NOT use fans that draw more than 1.0A or you'll fry this thing.

Rating + 5 Coolest panel I've ever seen

Pros: Don't know what everyone's complaining about. It's exactly what a panel should be for: showing off. And it didn't disappoint. It's extremely cool with 7 different backlights (green is best for me) and looks great behind the dim door of my Apollo NZXT. I couldn't care less about rerouting speaker volume, temperature control, and fan rpms to a panel that's made mainly to look good, and you shouldn't either. I can see how it can be useful if you don't have any other temp. monitor, but this one is good either way. Looks good and not complicated wiring like the others, which don't even manage looking good, let alone working right.

Cons: The only con will come to the people who actually want 4 fans, 4 temps., and speaker control going to one lousy panel that's supposed to be for making your PC look cooler.

Other Thoughts: Reads correct fan rpm just like the software that came with my motherboard.

Rating + 4 hmm

Pros: Color variety, nice features, doesn't take up too much space.

Cons: Instructions are bleak and first one was DOA! Audio part produces an ugly buzz only while in games but worked fine in desktop/iTunes

Other Thoughts: RMA'd for another one and the second one works fine. The green screen is a nice addition to my case. Temp sensors are super fragile use ease in applying them. Haven't tried the fans yet b/c I don't have any 3 pin fans.

Rating + 1 Run 4 fans at your own risk!!!

Pros: Looks awesome, easy to use, easy to install, 3 different face plates, 7 different back light colors to choose from. Long wires give lots of flexibility for cable management.

Cons: Hooking up 4th fan killed mine after about an hour or so. What's up with that? Adhesive tape doesn't stick well at all, all 4 of my probes had come undone within 12hrs. Wires aren't sleeved.

Other Thoughts: I hooked it up Saturday with 2 120mm fans and one 90mm fan, worked fine for 24hrs. Sunday I hooked up another 120mm fan and next thing I know it was like a Cheech and Chong movie "Up in Smoke". None of my fans drew over 3W, none of my wires were shorted out, I don't know why it blew up on me. It looks great and worked fine when only running 3 fans, so when I get my replacement I definitely won't be running 4 fans on it again.

Rating + 4 Looker and has temp monitoring

Pros: Has 4 temp probes. That was the main reason I went for this. Thing is also a decent looker, and metal is of decent quality. Comes with three faceplates and can illuminate different colors.

Cons: Fan control seems limited. Brings my yate loons down to about 800rpm only. No way to have it cycle through the different temps / fan speeds automatically. Sound control isn't really a worthy feature. It just adds another point of control, and when you have something set to an extreme, you'll have to go checking all over the place for which volume knob to change. Also, only good for 2 channel. Loudness display is slow too, and pretty pointless.

Other Thoughts: This unit comes at a decent price, but if your main concern is fan control, this may not be the one for you. It is indeed a looker though, and temp probes are great for monitoring ram, mosfets, water temp, etc. I definitely don't regret it as a buy, especially since I usually end up 7volting my fans and leaving them be anyway. Rather than buy 4 of those individual temp monitors and somehow rigging them up, this comes prebuilt and looks quite good.

Cons: Couldn't Handle 2 Vantec Tornado Fans. Very dissapointing. Hadn't even had them hooked up for 5 minutes......

Pros: absolutely none

Cons: This unit was assembled completely upside down at the factory which tells me a little something about the companys quality control. Not only that the volume rheostat does not work out of the box i replaced it with one from radio shack. The temp probes were never meant to be used for one the stickers do not stick to anything and two the wires break very very very easily right next to the probes.

Pros: Choice of faceplate color & looks amazing.

Cons: Thermal Tape doesn't stick / always comes off & is useless.
Wiring makes spaghetti in your case.
Sound Control doesn't work.
Customer support is non-existent.

Other Thoughts: Black faceplate did not set well like the others (not wide enough).
One set of wires had short in it and didn't work. Don't hook a Zalman CNFS9500 to it unless you have pliers handy for removal. Scythe customer support never replied to my emails.

Pros: Installation is very easy, although it may not fit flush with some cases. Very nice looking unit. The differnet colors on the read out are great. Choice of face plates also adds to the unit's looks.

Cons: I read the reviews prior to ordering. Should have listened to them. This unit is a fire waiting to happen. Installation went fine, however, after powering up it nearly fried my CPU. The fans in my case did not work while connected to this unit and at one point the computer wouldn't boot up.

Other Thoughts: I've contacted Scythe about my problem. In the mean time I would discourage anyone from purchasing the unit for safety reasons, especially if you leave your computer on all the time.

Rating + 2 Beware of low wattage per channel!!

Pros: The build quality and finish are excellent. Three metal face plates to match case color and several back-light colors to choose from make this unit attractive anywhere. Comes with 4 temperature probes and 4 fan wire extensions.

Cons: The maximum wattage per channel is not noted anywhere on the package or the instruction manual. My unit burned out yesterday, with the largest load being two 120mm LED fans on any one channel. This is cripplingly weak in my opinion. Avoid this unit if you need to control more than ~7W per channel. What REALLY gets me is that no retailer/reviewer that I've found actually knows the max wattage/channel, and it's not in the user manual!

Other Thoughts: Others here have complained about having the unit burn out, which doesn't surprise me. Considering the apparent quality of the rest of the unit, I assumed that it would support more than 7W per channel. I cannot understand how such an otherwise very versatile unit could be designed such that it can only handle one 120mm fan per channel - a $xx SB rheobus does better. The aesthetic versatility of this unit is useless without the ability to cope with a variety of fan configurations.

Rating + 4 A Very Attractive, Useful Feature

Pros: Looks great. Can tell the temp on four different items within the case, and monitor four different fan speeds. Also controls speaker volume.

Cons: The temp meter is on the left side of the display, while the channel selector for the temp meter is on the right. Conversely, the fan speed meter is just to the right of the temp meter, while the channel selector for the fan meter is on the left of the display. All very counterintuitive. Also, the tape they give to secure the temp sensors to their sensed items is no good. I just went to the hardware store and bought some all-weather adhesive tape.

Rating + 4 Great looking fan controller

Pros: Excellent build quality--aluminum faceplates, sturdy control dials. Sharp display--looks flashy, LCD not blindingly bright.

Cons: Effective speed reduction of only ~35% max RPM, regardless of fan. Fahrenheit reading worthless--LCD won't display temperatures higher than 100 deg.

Other Thoughts: For me, the Kama Meter was a compromise between utility and aesthetics. The lack of RPM controllability is my biggest gripe, but is only really an issue for smaller, high RPM fans. I have NOT heard any strange sounds coming from either the controller or the attached fans due to pulse-width modulation of RPM. Added some spice to an otherwise boring case.

Pros: I have owned for 2 days now, hope it doesn't burn out like below.

It's very very well built. Controls fans well. Looks and screen clarity (even at angle) are awesome. Doesn't blink.

Cons: You know... as stated below the dial to screen layouts are a bit funny, no big deal though. The sound control, I didnt even attempt, seems superfluous. I have never owned a fan controller and really all you do need is a switch, that being said you can really dial the fan speed (and thus sound) in. Temps's bounce a bit in the tenths decimel spot.

Other Thoughts: Degree to which you can control fan speed is based purely on the type of fan. Medium 120mm Panaflo I have goes from 900-1900rpm, while Coolermaster 120mm case fan up front does 600-1100rpm.

THIS THING WOULD BE PERFECT IF IT CONTROLLED CCFL's

Rating + 3 Lasted two weeks

Pros: Looks cool, but argonomically, the displays are backwards. The fan switch is on the left and the fan display is center. The temp switch is on the right and the temp display is on the left. The volume control should be set up to override the front panal sound but is not, and takes a bay slot. I never connected it.

Cons: This unit worked for less than two weeks before burning out. I only had 3 X 120 mm fans on it and it either will not take the load or was defective to begin with.

Other Thoughts: Replaced it with a simple 4 fan controller at 1/2 the price. Simpler and works better.

Pros: Solid finish, well made, works well controlling all my fans, 7 choices of fan display color, thermosensors seem accurate

Cons: price, you do have to toggle between temperature displays

Other Thoughts: I chose this product based on a good review from another site. I had looked at other products but wasn't crazy about what I saw. It is expensive for a fan controller but it works.

Rating + 5 Very slick piece of electronics

Pros: This looks very nice, presentable, as well as very functional

Cons: It would be nice if they got rid of the thrmostats and rather used information from the MB regarding the temperatures that the MB is noticing. Instead you have to tape thermostats at critical areas, but it at least gives you an idea of the temp. I placed one right on my 8800 gtx, this thing can cook an egg!
