Pros: None to speak of.
Cons: Arrived DOA.
Other Thoughts: Computer turns on, but with no video. Swap a few parts out, see that everything works fine so I'm now returning the mobo. Trying something different this time.

Pros: This is my second one of these and it was just as good a decision as it was last year. Recommend this board for "power users"... Intel's newer chipset boards are beginning to look more sexy than this... but I wanted to know what I was getting this time around. Last year at this time, this was the top-of-the-line board, from what I can remember...
Cons: Installing XP can be a bit of a PITA, but it's worth it. Google and intel.com are your friends

Pros: Fast MB with a lot of options and features. I like that it still has PS/2 connectors since I still use a PS/2 keyboard (I know, time to update).
Cons: The BIOS screens are not as easy to navigate and understand as previous Intel MBs I've worked with. Also, the BIOS docs are not detailed enough, there are entire screens in the BIOS which are not covered in the manual.
Other Thoughts: The BIOS ships with RAID enabled (which I'm not running) so I would get a warning every boot about missing RAID drives. Eventually I found how to disable RAID in the BIOS and prevent this warning.

INTEL
Pros: The 975xbx2 intel board has great audio. It can take all kinds of abuse and not blow out. The circuit board is high quality. It supports a floppy drive and that can come in handy. Intel supports it.
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: Certain motherboards are great and this is one of them. If you like to build computers then you should try this one, you will really enjoy it.

Oh what a difference the board makes!
Pros: Fast, I didn't need to upgrade my processor once I swapped out the board. I'm running a P4 3GB single core EMT64 with Vista x64 using an Ultra 32 SCCI drive for the OS with no complaints, what a breeze this install was...
Cons: The fan detection had to be turned off in the BIOS for the board to come-up. I have heavy duty fans running from the power suppy that do not hook into the system board so it flagged a cooling problem and shut the board down.
Other Thoughts: Once I turned off the fan detection, the board came-up without a problem and amazed me by installing Vista Ultimate just about instantanously. I booted the system, turned around to work on another system and it was done. It took the old board (Intel 915)about 2 hours to do the same install with the same processor.

Audio Hell
Pros: Great board, Fast runs cool enough with stock cpu fan and a couple rear fans.
Cons: I have had many problems with audio even after removing sound card and reloading drivers and OS. Now everywhere but windows media. A huge PITA.

Great board
Pros: Fast, easy to install, I love the BIOS configuration. Easy to overclock.
Cons: Drivers are kinda annoying to install...it autoreboots after each one...i know, not a big deal
Other Thoughts: Completly my fault for not researching enough, but the board does not support SLI. If you want to run more than one Nvidia card buy a dif. board.

WORTH THE MONEY
Pros: Solid performer. Worked right out of the box. Raid setting is simple IF you read the manual. PLEASE go to the INTEL site and read all the informations and downpoad the updates and the applications. I recommend it to any first builder.
Cons: Mine had a keyboard reading problem. I called Intel and got excellent support from the technician who decided the board was RMA. I returned it to INTEL as advised and got a new one within the week. This one works 100%
Other Thoughts: One little thing: The temp reading you get for the processor is a MARGIN from the acceptable max, in other words it will decrease when you load the processor . Mine runs with a Q6600 Kentsfield, 4G GORSAIR, 8600GT, 320 GB RAID 1, Creative Ultra gamer, Hauppaugue TV PCIE board.

Can't Say Good Or Bad
Pros: I'm sure this motherboard will work fine on the CPUs that it actually supports.
Cons: I ordered this on the strength of generally positive reviews and the statement on the Newegg product page, "An Intel board that runs (naturally!) their Core 2 Extreme and Core 2 Duo processors (along with Pentium EE and Pentium)."
What I did not realize is that this sentence really means, "supports SOME Core 2 Extreme and Core2 Duo processors."
It was only after I received it that I found a list of supported CPUs which indicated this board does not support the Intel E6750 that I also bought at the same time.
Other Thoughts: Bad news/good news: when I filled out the RMA request, Newegg was going to charge me an approx. $27 restocking fee. I called customer service and explained I thought the catalog listing was misleading, and they waived the restocking fee immediately.
I think the product description should be clearer, but have no complaints at all about customer service.

Good Product, Bad Shipping
Pros: Great motherboard both in price and performance.
Cons: Newegg really dropped the ball when they shipped this, everything was just thrown in a UPS box with total disregard for the delicate nature of this product.
Other Thoughts: I have never had an issue like this before with Newegg. Overall very good service

Good enough.
Pros: So far it seems a solid product. The only way to really find out is performance over time.
Cons: The raid bios check on boot can't be turned off. The raid ports can't be used. So it is truly limited to 4 SATA drives. Considering that there is no graphics support it is a bit overpriced.
Other Thoughts: Be sure you understand that there are no graphics on board.

Pros: none so far.
Cons: For this motherboard, I connected all the adapter according to the MB manual, but i hear no boot when i turn on power. Nothing show on the monitor also... And there are two red lights shining when i turn on power on the first time.
Other Thoughts: I'm using (XFX GeForce 8600GTS 256MB 128-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16, 80GB SATA 3.0Gb HD, Intel LGA 775 Intel 975X ATX Intel Motherboard, Intel Core 2 Duo Conroe 2.33GHz LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor, G.SKILL 2GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800, SAMSUNG 920NW 19 Widescreen LCD Monitor.

Solid, By Intel
Pros: Solid is a good word for this board. I have owned now 2 Intel boards and of the 2, this one is far more superior. I have been down that road of "overclocking" and to tell you the truth, I dont need to anymore. I have now the Core 2 Quad 6600 cpu on this board and it is a real gem. Yes you can overclock with this, and have. But I went back to default levels to make sure all is well and stable. I have owned Asus, which arent bad but they seem to have plenty of glitches. To much for my taste. If you deside to invest Intel, this is the one to do so with.
Cons: None

marvell works 25%
Pros: Very stable board. I'm running Debian Linux (Lenny, kernel 2.6.22). I like the board a lot, except see "cons" below.
Cons: After *much* effort, I have determined that even with NCQ off, I can only get 5 SATA ports to work reliably. The Marvell pseudo-RAID chipset yields tons of errors if it is supporting more than one drive and there is heavy I/O. (Yes, NCQ is turned off.) This is very disappointing. I'm not very happy with Intel's support, either; I can't even find a place to send a message detailing my troubles with the product. INTEL: PAY ATTENTION! 2 things others have already said but bear repeating: Apparently because there's only 1 PATA channel, simultaneous multiple CD drive I/O doesn't work efficiently. And the BIOS originally supplied was quite obviously broken.
Other Thoughts: Believe it or not, I'd probably buy this same board again, because it's so reliable and stable. I need that, and I hate surprises. I also have one of the earlier versions (D975XBX without the 2). I like the earlier version better because all 8 SATA ports work simultaneously, even though the speed is not as good for 4 of the ports. 4 working ports are better than 1 working port.

Works great, but...
Pros: Okay, this thing is a really nice mobo, and offers a lot more for the tweakers than one would normally expect from Intel. Performance is great and setup was a breeze. Installed Windows on first try, and runs solid with a Q6600.
Cons: Okay, we've got to talk about the RAID controller. It's a Marvell, which can kinda be an issue for some folks during initial setup (here's a hint, streamline the drivers onto a Windows CD, OR... use an internal floppy drive; works fine either way). That said, there are much better controllers out there, so it's a shame that you're somewhat stuck with this one. That said, unless you're on the bleeding edge, you'll most likely never notice the difference.
This thing also ships with woefully outdated drivers and BIOS, so snag those from Intel's website as soon as you get the OS installed. It'll make life a lot easier for you.
Other Thoughts: Overall this is a good board. Only the lack of performance from the RAID controller dinged the marking for me and even then it's more of a nitpick as the thing rocks solid for me.

minor audio problems
Pros: Very easy to understand Clearly states that this board is ATi not GeForce/Nvidia... like i read in some reviews... had it for XP at first then went went to Vista no problem for me besides sound. (see con) Very stable, very fast.
Cons: The Audio software that came with it was not compadable with Vista, at the time.I spent hours trying to find a reason from Sigmatel and Microsoft to find the problem. Sigmatel didn't say anything about not beeing compatable with Vista but when going to microsofts web site, about 3 hours latter, i find it... there instructions say one thing but didn't work for me still had no sound or a very high pitch sound. after formating it keeping vista audio drives on it i had no problems. after waiting 4 months intel put out audio drives from sigmatel that is compatable with vista. so DON'T INSTALL THE AUDIO DRIVES THAT COMES FROM THE DISC IF RUNNING VISTA!!!
Other Thoughts: Q6600 runs great with this board and ATi cards have no problem running on this board. I would like to buy another X1900 GT to cross fire it but can't find them because they don't make it besides the one for mac and those cards are twice as much as what i paid for mine.

First build, great board so far
Pros: Durable during install, fairly good layout, good features. I've heard this is a great board to overclock but haven't tried it yet. Easy BIOS setup.
Cons: The DIMM slot 0 is very close to the graphics card if you have an Nvidia 8600gt or larger, making it a delicate process removing the memory without bending the edge of the graphics card. Helps if you have smaller hands/fingers though.
Other Thoughts: If you're not running RAID it will probably prompt you in bootup with a Marvell 88SE61XX controller scan that you have no arrays defined! no hard drives detected! even though you have your HDD installed. This is fixed when you go into BIOS options and disable secondary HDD's.
With Intel's desktop utilities my board is running at or below 40 degrees C on CPU and zone 1 and 2 under normal load. This is with a Cooler Master case.

super great for linux/freebsd
Pros: 8 sata2 ports, intel gig-E chip, onboard firewire, 3 pci-e slots, large heatsinks, takes ECC correcting memory
Cons: bios isn't great but is 'ok'. requires 8pin cpu power instead of 4pin.
Other Thoughts: I built a linux box to do JUST nas work. I have 8 samsung hd501lj drives (from the egg) in raid5 using software raid on linux ('md' device). I advise you to turn off sata NCQ on all 8 ports if you run RAID, then you will have no problems. this is easily done on linux; not so well done on windows. this is a true server board with ECC memory - don't waste this on a windows box ;)
I have 3 of these boards. just love them for headless servers with the intel gig-e chip (best gig-e chip on the market for consumers).

Rockin
Pros: Well labeled MoBo, easy to read manual (with full color diagrams yet!)
Put together entire system in an evening and none of the smoke escaped when I powered up :)
Cons: RAM Slots are a little close to the PCIex16 slot if you have a longer Video Card (fit RAM first, then video card and it's OK)
The SPDIF Audio only works if you disable the analog audio, so you have to flip between local speakers and remote Dolby Digital decoder. I use the SPDIF to drive whole-house audio, so it's a pain to lose PC speakers when I play music to the rest of the house.
Other Thoughts: 4GB RAM Core 2 Quad Q6600 Kentsfield 2.4GHz eVGA GeForce 8600GT 512MB 128-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Bunch of SATA II drives
Runs great, tho FsimX does not yet fully utilize additional cores, so even at this level, I can't max FSX out to all graphics options or the one core that takes most of the heat gets swamped. Other cores *are* active but mostly for pre-fetching new-to-render scenery.

Great Board
Pros: As a first time builder I was somewhat scared to try this technical of project, but with Intels help and most of all the product reviews I breezed through this build and now have a pretty fast computer and will be building more!!!! totally impressed with the desktop utilities and desktop control center!!! What a stable and Fast machine.
Cons: It says in the MB manual that you have a choice in powering the CPU. I found that you have to plug in the 8 pin connector to the CPU by reading the reviews on New Egg!!! Thats the only problem I had.... DUH
Other Thoughts: Antec Sonata III,Intel Q6600 quad 2.4 GO stepping, samsung 500 g HD,160 g external HD, 400 gb A Data memory, 2 DVD burners. Thanks people for the reviews and help!!!!! Also updated bios

Rock Solid Baby
Pros: Great layout, nice features, crystal clear manual, flawless support. It is nice to buy a motherboard from the guys who make the CPU and the chipset. Most important: rock solid reliability.
Cons: The only issue I have had is that my system suddenly didn't like my extra 2 GB of RAM. It worked great for 7 months and then wouldn't POST. Took it down to 2 GB and it works great. I have read that this is a known issue with the 64 bit version of Vista, so I am not blaming the board.

Fantastic Mother Board
Pros: Very stable well designed board. Supports hottest Intel processors with all the IO I needed.
Cons: BIOS was v2333 which is very old and does not support Q6600 processor. System was too unstable to upgrade BIOS except by Recovery method (see Intel website). Once upgraded this system is rock solid.
Other Thoughts: Q6600 quad processor, 2x Crucial CT12864AA80E 1GB RAM, EVGA 8800GTS 329 MB RAM, Dual Samsung HD321KJ drives (Raid not installed) and Win XP Pro.

doesn't support all Core 2 duo's
Pros: it's a great board, i especialy like the HD audio
Cons: it doesn't support all core 2 duo processors, i had the E6750 and the board only suports up to E6700, just make sure they really are compatible before you buy.

Stable Board
Pros: Robust construction. Very stable board with Hi Def audio and three PCi xpress lots.Board ahs Cross Fire, so you can link Two Video cards for great gaming.
Cons: I used ATI Rad 2900 XT which itself is bulky and leave little room for another card and hence bad air circulation and the second video card also covers one pci slot.
Other Thoughts: If you want to install TWO Video cards, I would suggest looking for another board with more elbow room for PCI Xpress slots. But this board is OK for me for now.

Gotta know your stuff
Pros: Gotta a great price (open box) Fast FSB and 4 memory slots. Maybe the best Core 2 motherboard intel offers
Cons: My first one (sold to high bidder. live and learn) didn't work at all. Open box (from newegg) LAN didn't work. Installed LAN card, and it's fine. You must have the CD to install this MB or the audio won't work.
Other Thoughts: I think i would just pay retail and get the new boxed version, with all the cd's and drivers. Nice MB all in all. Who needs this many SATA drives.....

Real Deal
Pros: This is really nice motherboard. Not only that supports up to 8 GB of RAM but it comes with RAID controller, which I like a lot. Make sure you do your homework and check with Intel as what processor were tested with this MB. Also the owner’s manual provides a lot of good information however go to Intel on line and download the full PDF, there you will find additional very helpful info. When you first bring your system up that Gb NIC will not work until you run CD that comes with the MB and install the drivers, next you should go to Intel online and get rest of the drivers. Make sure you get the Intel application too. It monitors system temperatures and can help you stress test the system as well. Last thing you want to do is burn this beautiful piece of hardware. I hope this helps, good luck. By the way, this MB will not fit in mini ATX case, medium or full.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: I am extremely pleased with this product.

A mainboard for adults
Pros: Reliable. Stable. Efficient. Good overclocking performance. Good Intel online support.
Cons: Written documentation lacks detail.
Other Thoughts: You reach a point in your life when you just want a product to do what it was designed to do. This is that product.
I have been a die hard Asus user over the years, but have grown weary of the many extra "features" they seem intent on tacking on to their products recently, as well as their reliability.
I decided to give the "Bad Ax" a try, and have been extremely pleased. The product just works - reliably.
Sure you can argue it lacks features, but spend an hour with this product and you'll understand how efficient, simple and elegantly designed it is.
With respect to overclocking, if you lean towards the extreme, then this board is probably not for you. But if what your seeking is good, reliable and stable overclocks then you should consider this product.
Using an Intel QX6700 I was able to achieve 3.4 GHz, all on stock V-core, MCH and FSB voltage settings. No fuss, just 15 minutes of my time and I had a reliable stable overclock.

LED Bios Problems
Pros: I purchased this board from newegg sometime ago and the bios must be updated from Intel before the HDD LED works. They have the new 2777 Bios Update out now. I have ran every Express Bios Update they released on this board and it is rock solid. Media Center, Vista, XP Pro, all work well using it.
Cons: Bios Problems unless updated. No External SATA Connector..get the Retail Package which includes this. Also I think Intel held back on the front panel audio, USB goodies in both OEM and Retail Packages.
Other Thoughts: This board also accepts Nvidia Cards. I could not get a Nvidia card to work with the older D975XBX, only Radeon. This one accepts both cards without problems.

I am very happy.
Pros: Very good board. A lot of options. Just about everything you will possibly want.
Cons: Price. It is expansive.
Other Thoughts: I am using this board with Intel E6600, A-Data 2 GB DDR2 kit. It overclocked great.

just a question

AWESOME BOARD!!
Pros: Great Board Overall. Powerful, Stable, Great Music Production and Graphics Board. Make sure you get updated drivers asap! perfect integration with q660 core 2 processor.
Cons: Only 1 IDE channel, Haven't yet gotten it to recognize my dvd Drive! serial ata ports are stuffed in an annoying spot hard to get to, easy to pull out reset and led cables

good stable board
Pros: Offers some good overclocking options, support for Quad-core support and recognition for ddr2 800 with bios update. mature and proven. very good and well thought out layout.
Cons: Not the best overclocker, but stable. if you want support for ddr2 800 you must flash bios (always risky) confused why there are two separate raid controllers
Other Thoughts: I like the blue flame heat sinks they really compliment the layout nicely, Ive been running this board for a couple of months now with no problems to speak. I have a conroe E6600 at a modest OC of 2.8 and 2 gigs of crucial ballistix ddr2 800, fully recognized as such in bios. running a X1800GTO as graphics all very stable. This board has been out long enough to have matured with bios revisions, and has proven itself I recommend highly from experience

Motherboard Woes
Pros: Great board for the 10 minutes it actually worked.
Cons: Generally, the not working part.
Other Thoughts: After three DOA boards, I finally got one that actually ran. Was great except it came with no drivers. Went through the trouble of downloading drivers from another computer and burning them to disk, which worked fine. Then about ten minutes later the motherboard sparked and burst into flames. No overclocking, all factory defaults. Overall, not so happy with this product.

Poof
Pros: Stable, if you can get it to work. A little pricey for a plain jane 975 mb. Has basic features. Basically, a somewhat clockable Intel reference mb on mild steriods...
Cons: Where to start... Regardless of the specs and reviews and forums, it is ONLY a basic overclocker. Do not expect anything more than average. First mb went POOF and quit flat out under nominal load after about a month. Completely fried a E6600 also (E6000 under nominal load also at time of fry running @ stock 2.4gb @ 38c). This board will ONLY run memory @667mhz regardless of (high) quality of your DDR2- do not hope for anything more (save your money on memory). Bios updates have been fast, numerous, and recent trying to fix a myriad of other problems and issues also. Just because a Intel MB (or any other) works adaquetly and basically, does not mean it's stable.
Other Thoughts: Intel CS and Tech Support was decent and informative on the defective board- as long as you do not try and talk to them via voice telephone. They hate end users calling them IF you can find a number you can actually get through to them on. EXTREEMLY rude from pre-sales and CS on any near future compatibality features (upcomming 1330 fsb and E series processors). They will flat out not help you and completely deny and ignore the issue.

Pros: Seats my quad nicely, good amount of SATA connectors, no real complaints. Looks nice too.
Cons: Problems loading drivers to vista. Gonna load XP on another partition see how that works.

LED not working....
Pros: Great M/B for over clocker and for many people.
Cons: LED not working somehow for HDD and Power. I tested it out with several LEDs but none work. But its no prob. as everyother thing works.
One thing is that when I look into the device drivers inside the system, a PCI with an exclamation mark appreas... I haven't enabled the VIIV stuff but if I enable it, one more, total two exclamation mark appears.
Other Thoughts: It works, thats what I should be happy about anyway.

Works for me, RAID is 2x4
Pros: Used it in my new low noise Frankenbox with Intel Quad core. Works straight out of the box. Initial BIOS problems have been solved. I use Intel RAID10 for storage and Marvel SATA for the system disk.
Cons: You cannot do RAID with more than 4 disks.
Other Thoughts: You need to install Intel Audio Studio for good sound.

Great
Pros: Lots of slots, screws in perfectly, etc. Everything I expected from a high end motherboard.
Cons: This may not be a problem for most people, but I had to turn off the option for "Enable CPU fan control". After realizing that my CPU was running hot(E6700) I tried reapplying the thermal paste since I was using an aftermarket, high end HSF combo(Freezer 7 Pro), but my temps were still around 48 idle and 55-58 at load. I checked speedfan and my CPU fan was only at around 960RPM when it was rated for 2660RPM, but after toggling this option off, everything was back to normal, around 40idle, 48-50 load. Also would have preferred more PCI slots, but what can you do.
Other Thoughts: Not Intel's fault, but when installing Vista over SATA, you have to load the drivers over a floppy, except I didn't buy a floppy drive as I saw no real point, so I copied the contents of the floppy on my dad's old pc to a usb drive and used that to load the drivers.

Pros: none
Cons: NOT COPATIBLE WITH D975XBX2: ALL BIOS/FIRMWARE/DRIVERS ARE ALL UP TO DATE. #1 THE ARECA 1230 RAID CARD HAS GOT PROBLEMS AND I WON'T BE ABLE TO USE IT. THE FIRST THING IS THE LENGTH OF THE CARD. IT WON'T FIT IN ONE OF THE PCIE SLOTS BECAUSE IT HITS THE OTHER SATA CONNECTORS ON THE MOTHER BOARD AND IT BARELY FITS IN THE OTHER PCIe SLOT ALSO HITTING MOTHER BOARD CONNECTORS. SO AFTER FINALLY GETTING IT TO SEAT RIGHT I COULD NOT ATTACH A SATA CABLE TO EITHER PORT 1 OR PORT 2 BECAUSE THE THE MOTHER BOARD CONNECTORS ARE IN THE WAY SO I HAD TO USE PORT 3. IT DOES NOT DETECT THE DRIVES ATTACHED. OK SO IT BOOTS INTO WINDOWS XP AND I WAS ABLE TO LOAD DRIVERS FOR THE CARD FROM TH CD SO I KNOW THE SLOT IS OK. THEN I GO LOOK AT DEVICE MANAGER AND THE CARD IS CONFLICTING WITH A PCI BRIDGE RENDERING THE PCI SLOT UNUSABLE. I CANNOT USE THIS CARD. #2 THE PROMISE EX16350: SAME PROBLEM AS ABOVE (PCI CONFLICT). #3 RAID CARD HIGHPOINT ROCKETRAID 2340: SAME PROBLEM AS AS ABOVE (PCI CONFLICT

Pros: Intel makes the best, this mb booted the first time, windows vista 64 loaded most drivers.

Updated 975
Pros: SATA 300 support x8, one for external SATA. The Oem Version did not contain the external SATA adapter for rear of case use.
Cons: Needs a Bios Update right out of the box. Had problems with the HDD LED connector till I updated the bios from Intel. WMCE05 installed and no errors. Just Fantastic.
Other Thoughts: I have the first 975 board from Intel and it was more costly than this one..also not supporting so many processors.

TO: Trigon
Pros: *****
Cons: *****
Other Thoughts: Trigon: This is not an SLI certified board, the chipset doesn't support it. It is a Crossfire board. Do more research and you won't run into problems like that. I'd think if you were so involved in your computer to use two 8800's in SLI, you'd know to get a board with an NVIDIA chipset.

My first build
Pros: My AMD based system suddenly would not post 3 months ago. A new PS did not help. I ended up with a new PS and a good case I could not throw away but a dead computer. So I took the plunge and built a system with the Intel 975, an E6400, 2GB of Corsair, and 1650XT video. The system posted right out of the gate. The only thing I had to do was go into the BIOS and adjust the boot sequence to go to the DVD then to the hard drive. From that point the OS loaded like a champ and the system has been running without a single crash for 2 months now. I love it!
Cons: Pricey but it is a beautiful board. And since it gave me no problem it was worth it! Would like to see a description of BIOS options in the MB book.
Other Thoughts: I like the Intel MB utility for montoring temps and hard drive. It showed that the north and south bridges were running at very reasonable temps below 45C. Setiathome downloaded a multi threaded program that occupied both cores 100% and drove the cpu temp to 55C. That is a bit hot for this chip so I installed a bit larger version of the stock cooler made of pure copper and now it does not exceed 51C no matter with very little noise. I expect to enjoy this system for a lont time.

Pros: This is such a great motherboard. This is only my 2nd build, previous one had an asus, but I am definately on the Intel bandwagon if they keep this up. This thing has my E6600 at 3.2 GHz with a minor coltage change and no temp increase. The black PCB is a nice touch and looks pretty cool, and so are the flame heatsinks, even though I cant see them over my tuniq tower. IDE connection mite be a little tough for smaller cases, but I like it in my full tower case, makes the cable lay flush with the mobo tray.
Cons: the bios it shipped with is the one where the HDD light stays solid if you disable the marvell controller, but its no biggy, my case has a front door that blocks it anyway. Thats about it for here...

Awesome Board!
Pros: Amazing board. Used this board in my gaming rig build. Posted first time no hassles... I was actually suprised. Every time I build a computer at least something goes wrong on the first boot, not this time. The overclocking settings are pretty good. They could have done a little better in the memory section, allowing manual setting of the memory clock and allowing more exoctic latency setting would be great. When I began overclocking this CPU I put numerous stupid settings in and this thing took it in stride and always came back when I jumped the CMOS "reset" jumper. Amazing. 3 PCIe are cool (now if only I could afford the xfire card and a physics card).
Cons: None other than the memory overclock stuff I mentioned above.
Other Thoughts: Awesome board. I would build with this again!

Worth the price
Pros: My first build so I wanted to stick with known quailty both for the main board and processor. Happy to say that the manual was well written and answered any newbe confusion I had in the process.
Cons: Not really a board con, but it took me several hours of troubleshooting to solve an audio problem. It turned out that the software that I loaded for the Logitech wireless keboard and mouse created problems with the onboard audio. Once I removed the SetPoint software the sound was perfect.
Other Thoughts: Posted right out of the gate. OEM package include some nice software extras. Newegg delivered on time and packaged securely. Using 2GB of Wintec PC2 6400 AMPx which seems to be working great.

Reliability and Performance
Pros: Very well tested board IMO. Intel doesn't have all the bells and whistles that an Asus or similar board might, but at least everything that is on the board works before they ship it.
Intel driver updates are frequent and reliable.
Comes with 4 "locking" SATA cables (nice touch).
Cons: Save your manual or download the PDF from Intel. The descriptions for each setting inside the BIOS is non-existant.
The rounded floppy cable is too short for most newer cases (very minor issue).
Other Thoughts: I originally purchased an ASUS P5N32-E SLI board that wouldn't even POST using QVL RAM (Asus has changed their QVL RAM list 4 times since the board was released, often dropping previously supported configurations). The nVidia 680 chipset is horrendously bug laden.
Since I never even bother to OC anymore, I finally broke down and bought an Intel board. Not one glitch. Everything works where as my last 5 Asus boards always had something that never worked quite right (QFan, Temp readings, etc).
This board just works and that's nice as I am done paying Asus to beta test their boards for them. (Stay away from the nVidia 680 boards! Go read the Asus forums first!)

Very nice mobo
Pros: Bad Axe 2 is great. Started up right away, no problems of any kind. BIOS is actually very simple, but has everything needed for serious overclocking.
Cons: Mobo and accesories were shipped completely loose in some UPS box. When I got it,I had some serious doubts mobo will work at all. But it did all right. Newegg must change the way they ship this $220 mobo, it's not a bag of cheap candies.
Other Thoughts: This batch of mobos is rev. 505 with BIOS ver. 2333. It's a good idea to upgrade BIOS to at least 2618 right away. And shipping, Newegg, pleaaasee...don't do it again...

Intel mobo
Pros: Easy install, instruction manual easy to read and for the most part understand.
Cons: Shipping carton left a lot to be desired, was partically open and mobo not in the orginal box. Mobo was doa sent back after hours of problem diagnosis, intel tech support was less than desireable, seemed obvious to me that they didn't have their act together.
Other Thoughts: Newegg great response and helpful on return

Best MB I've ever bought...
Pros: Very stable, handles everything I throw at it, BIOS was easy to update and there was a new version from 2/12. Also coming from the Asus P5N-E (which gave me the BsOD on everything I did), I took all my components to this board, I haven't seen a BsOD yet. Very impressed.
Cons: "Device Manager identifies an "Other Device" a "PCI Device" but never finds a driver." I have this same problem. =\. Maybe a BIOS problem?
Other Thoughts: E6400, XFX 7950gt, 2gb ddr2 800 Kingston, this thing FLYS! I'm looking to upgrade to a DX10 card when it becomes practical.

Very Good Board
Pros: Very simple to install, directions were good, 3 PCIE slots, TONS of SATA plugins, very stable. I have had to do nothing other than install it.
Cons: Price, only 2 PCI slots, BIOS options not spelled out clearly I also have an odd issue were Device Manager identifies an "Other Device" a "PCI Device" but never finds a driver. I have to tell Windows to ignore it and move on. Since I don't have any PCI devices installed at this time it is odd to say the least.
Other Thoughts: Running Core 2 Duo E6600, 2GB G.Skill RAM, and older WD 150GB SATA drive. all off of Coolmax PS

8800 GTX spacing for SLI mode use.
Pros: Supports Intel Dual Core processor.
Cons: Do not try to use with two (2) 8800 GTX's (VGA EVGA768-P2-N837-AR) in SLI configuration in slots 1 & 2 side by side, as there is not enough realistate (spacing)on the board to support the two next to each other. The designers of the board did not account for proper distance between the two slots to accomodate a SLI setup. I will now have to send back one of my 8800 GTX's listed above and will suffer a restocking fee because of this error. I also had one board dead on arrival with the sound port not working and had to return it as well for credit. My luck with this board has not been that great.
Other Thoughts: If you use this board and want to use with two 8800 GTX's, check their profile (thickness) to insure you can put in both slots, or you will be sorely disappointed.

Terrific Motherboard
Pros: Coupled with a new Intel E6600 and a Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 ST3750640AS 750GB on the NON-RAID connection my Vista Experience jumped to 5.3 for Processor and 5.6 for the Hard Drive.
Cons: I used the Intel Integrator Toolkit to create a custom bios boot screen, but the Marvell SCSI-RAID screen pops up with that dumb DOS looking prompt and delays the boot of the system by 5 secs. Not a major thing, but would really like it if that could be hidden or disabled in the BIOS if I am not using the RAID.
Other Thoughts: Pretty Bare Minimum OEM kit. Would have been nice to have the E-SATA adapter come with, but what's another $5?

Great Board
Pros: This board installed very easly and booted up the very first time. Great board very stable. The manule is ideot proof with color pictures and clear descriptions. Overclocking features in bios are very clear, don't know how well they perform I am running stock still.
Cons: Not the boards fault but you have to connect every power connector on the board to boot it up.
Other Thoughts: Buy the OEM over the retail. U lose the round IDE controller cable but that's all. Works great on my new build. Intel 6600 Core 2 Duo, 2 GB Gskill DDR 2 800, ATI X1950 Pro.

TO: Keepitreal
Pros: Great Board, BUT, support for 800Mhz memory, is not native. it's "aquired". O/C IOW.
Cons: The PCIEx16 ports (for keepitreal) The advertised Bandwidth Of 16x 8x and 4x are for GRAPHICS cards. You are probably getting ONE lane to your SCSI card. Do a Full Push, and test the ACTUAL bandwidth you get THROUGH that slot. Betcha not more than 260 Meg/sec. ie: one lane. or x1. Which is what ALL non graphics cards get from the "Older" chipset PCIEx16 slots. SOME new slots will "list" the FEW cards approved, to "GET" more than 1 lane, and with WHAT O/S. Sorry!
Other Thoughts: See above Good board for what it was designed for, and when used within it's paramenters. On this board, STAY AWAY FROM SCSI. Stay with SATA. NO SAS either. Same as SCSI. A lot of people are getting the idea, that SAS drives, are just SATA drives with an attitude.

Pros: its a great board. i have a pentium D 805 and a msi 7600gt nvidia card and it works great . I love it.
Cons: _im just thirteen and i made my own computer but my dad hepled a little and it works fine with this board. i definetly recommend this board.
Other Thoughts: sometimes when i turn it on then i turn on the monitor and it just satys a black screen. i cant figure out what it is thats making it do that. i have to press the resart button or turn it off and back on then it will work. i odnt think its the motherboard. but besises that its a great board!

Great MB!
Pros: Great board. Easy to install and documentation. Upgrade potential. Very stable. Good spacing on component plug- ins. System runs quiet with the other component fans. Intel Desktop Utility (highly recommend downloading it from Intel website)
Cons: The only cons are one ide port (for legacy reasons, it would be nice to have two), and watch our if you don't have a dual core CPU. I had a P4 HT single core, and it wouldn't let me install VIVO software - but it still works great. Downloaded necessary audio and other software directly from Intel website. Will upgrade to Core 2 Duo in a few months for sure.
Other Thoughts: P4 HT 3.0, Corsair XMS2 675 4x512, ATI AIW 2006, Seagate 320 SATA, Antec TruePower 550w. Was on my 3rd MB from another vendor when I decided to just change boards, and after research, felt this would be a good board. It ended up being a great choice. No problems what so ever. It's worth the price.

Pros: easy install and upgrade. three pci express ports. great for overclocking. crossfire ready.
Cons: none yet but Iam still working out bugs. Im experiencing a lot of lag. should be a lot faster than what it is. takes a lot of time to install programs. Im guessing its a memory issue. any suggestions.
Other Thoughts: running with 2.8 dual core cpu, 1gb of memory, 256mb nvidia video card, 3x 148 gb scsi hard drives at 10000rpm

New User Review
Pros: First off it supports, of course, the Core 2 Duo's and the new Quad Core's. This board as plenty of SATA plugs and more than enough PCI Express slots. Has headers for front audio, usb and firewire connections. Powered right up and has an easy to understand bios.
Cons: I don't know if it's just my board, but the automatic fan control doesn't work properly. When turned on, the max my cpu fan gets is 600rpm at full load! CPU hits 53C easily and the fans wont spin up! The other thing is that the Marvel Bios tries to load a RAID Array even though i dont have one, it's just an annoyance to have to see that screen say i don't have an array.
Other Thoughts: This board is my first real build. I have it coupled with a Core 2 Duo E6600 and i must say it's blazing fast. I have 2.5 gigs of OCZ High Performance DDR2 with a HIPER 580W Type R PSU and it's awesome. Great board for overclocking. Even though I don't OC, it still has all the bells and whistles i might use one day.

Simple and Fast
Pros: sysboard documentation is great, clean speed, plug and play.
Cons: marvelle 66xx adapter is not certified by microsoft...but it will still install and work.
Other Thoughts: do not use usb keyboard during os install or it will turn off usb port...use ps2 key/mouse only

Pros: great features & chipset, good ram support, plug & play running @ 800, core 2 duo e6400, runs perfect

Wow
Pros: Built about 30 custom PCs now. This board has excellent physical tolerances - no 'fudging' the edge of the motherboard to get holes to line up, it drops in. Performance is great. BIOS setup is pretty well laid out - though I don't overclock so I can't speak to that. Excellent documentation and quick reference card.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: I've used quite a few other brands of motherboards. This is my first Intel one and I'm impressed. Oh yeah, if you know what you're doing, get the OEM version rather than the retail. According to the pictures the only difference is a fair bit of money and a round IDE cable rather than a flat one.

Easiest Board I've ever setup
Pros: Everything, Stable. No random reboots or shutdown hangups.
Cons: Only one IDE slot (for two drives). Pricey
Other Thoughts: I've been building systems (mostly AMD) since 1994. This was by far the easiest setup I've ever done. The system also doesn't seem to be plagued with the "doesn't want to shut down" problems that I've had with pretty much all of my AMD systems

Great board, Stable, Fast
Pros: Out of the box, was able to overclock my E6600 from 2.4 to 3ghz without temps even rising 5 degrees! Ram selection important for this board, as you can really push the speed and voltages VERY high - make sure your ram can keep up. Only issue is the dang intel splash screen and difficult to reach cmos clear (ends up almost under your video card). A great board.
Cons: Some bios options are unclear (what the heck does 'advanced debug' in the maintenance mode do? cant find anything about it anywhere. Cmos jumper in bad spot.
Other Thoughts: A great board for easy, stable overclocking.
