I had to call the Fire Dept.
Pros: Everything was in the box, Booted up fine.... see cons
Cons: Worked fine for a week, then I started up a rendering program to render an object for my design class.... Decided i would go out to eat with a friend while it ran it's course... should be fine i thought...
Came back with the fire department at my house telling me that my computer caught fire and took out most of my room upstairs. Luckily my sister came over and saw that my room was smoking. Luckily it was covered under my homeowners insurance so everything got replaced... yes even the mobo, although i went with asus for the replacement. The fire marshal concluded that it started from my computer, although the exact cause could not be found, the reports of Flaming Northbridge is the likely suspect.... see other thoughts.
Other Thoughts: tl;dr THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CALLED BECAUSE THE BOARD CAUGHT FIRE AND NEARLY BURNT DOWN MY HOUSE!!!!

Good price, bad producers...
Pros: this mobo supported everything in which i was looking for and i believe that if it functioned properly it would have been a good board.
Cons: I recieved this mobo with a crooked DB9 soldered on and then soon found out it was defective. From all the other reports i have read i would agree that Gigabyte doesn't take pride in their work and just throws things together...
Other Thoughts: Wish i wouldn't of had to gone through this uneccessary aggrivation and put down...

Bad Warranty AGAIN !!!!!!
Pros: It is a full featured board. Lots of connectors and ports.
Cons: Another problem with Gigabyte. They refused to RMA my board. They claimed there was damage to it and that "damage" voided the warranty.
Gigabyte seems to be a rip off outfit when it comes to quality or honoring their warranty.
Other Thoughts: This happened to me just a month ago on another Gigabyte mobo that was within 1 year old. I do not overclock, I did not damage the board. One week everything was fine...then some odd crashes, lock ups, and then trouble booting, then no BIOS.
I was running a AMD 5200+ in this board. This computer was basicly for small, dumb things...email, burning discs, running MS Office. No gaming. No OCing. It was cool and had no heat issues. The board gave out. Upon receiving the board, they quickly shipped it back to me, no email notice...nothing...just a note inside claiming the board was "physically damaged" and they were not responsible and my warranty was voided.
THERE IS NO PHYSICAL DAMAGE!!!! This is the 2nd time they did this to me. From here on, Gigabyte is off my list of options. I will tell everyone whenever I can to avoid them like the plague. MSI and ASUS have never rejected me even with minor physical dings on the boards! GROW UP GIGABYTE!

Nice and all but....
Pros: My freind has this board from a build 3 months ago becuase he heard that it was going to support phenom II. The board has 2 PCIe 2.0 @ x16 and goes well with his case and his 2 4870's no problems there. (SEE CONS)
Cons: The day the Phenom II came out he went to go get it and installed it in. (I was helping him) So everything goes well and we flash the bios so the mobo would recognize the new CPU. I bring my Computer to play COD World at War and 4 hours into the game and a kushhhhhhhhhh sound came out of his case we heard tssssssssssss.... and smelled smoke we saw inside and his north bridge cooler was on fire like the heat sink was literally on fire we didnt want to throw water so we unplugged it until it died down. The wierd thing was that even though the north bridge went on fire the game was still playing which shows how good Gigabytes motherboards and amd's CPU's are built. Long Story short: IT CATCHES ON FIRE!
Other Thoughts: My freind called gigabyte and i think they will rma it (Not Sure). But gigabyte should post something on this motherboard that would say: **WARNING** Could Catch on fire Play at your own risk. Even all that i love gigabyte my x58 mobo is from them they build good mobo's but this chipset just isn't good enough or overheats? So buy gigabyte but buy this mobo at your own risk =)

I don't believe this board has such a High rating.
Pros: Board Layout for having a PCIx1, and running 2 4870's.
Cons: I'm going on my 3rd board within 6 months. First was exchanged with Newegg the 2nd is awaiting RMA from gigabyte.. I've never dealt with GB RMA process so we will see what happens.
Other Thoughts: I still don't believe that this board has so many positive reviews. I've never had a mobo that has gone south so many times. There are a lot of people who have had the same problem but this board keeps getting great reviews. I would say those who are checking out the reviews comments to take that this board has a high fail rate. I'm running 9850be, 4 x 1gb PC28500 OCZ reapers, 2 x 4870 in crossfire and X-Fi Titanium. I'm looking at other mobo's right now but I can't find one with the same configuration. Either one of the 4870 blocks the PCIx1 slot or the PCIx16 configuration only one is running at 16x while the other one is at 8x.

FIRE
Pros: nothing, didnt even get to a point for that
Cons: IT CAUGHT ON FIRE!!! When I got this board I set it up and on first boot, the whole north bridge caught in a massive fire ball, completely destroyed my cpu and heatsink. Go somewhere else with your money. At least you know those wont catch your house on fire.
Other Thoughts: Ive seen smoke and sparks before on computer builds but never once have I seen a full fire, never going gigabyte again.

Bad Board
Pros: When it works... it is... ok...
Cons: First board I got from Newegg would only POST about 20% of the time. I read all the forums and flashed the BIOS and reset the board and got a new CMOS battery etc etc, no luck. RMA'd the board and got a new one. New one POSTed about 98% of the time... acceptable.
After about 8 or 9 months I started having RAM problems. At first, I figured the RAM was failing. After some further swapping of sticks I found that 1 slot on the mobo had died. A month later a 2nd slot died. Now, a couple months later, it appears that a 3rd slot is now dead. Very disappointing board.
Also, the "built in" RAID controller is basically unusable. I fiddled with this thing forever too getting new drivers and and 3rd party drivers. I could never even get a RAID 1 operating.
Don't buy this board.

failed
Pros: has the newest AMD chipset. worked out of the box
Cons: this board failed on me within one year. i bought it the day it came out on newegg, along with the newly released Phenom 9500. also, the 790X is a needlessly downgraded 790FX chipset. it just has 2 PCIe X16 slots. im buying an Asus board with the 790FX and the SB750. this is my first Gigabyte board, and i am not impressed.

Failed
Pros: Multiple PCI 16x slots
Cons: Had to flash bios with a lesser chip. DO NOT BUY IF YOU ARE GOING TO BUY FOR A PHENOM UNLESS YOU HAVE AN AM2 CHIP TO PLUG IN AND FLASH BIOS FIRST.
Failed in less than a month.
