Pros: Very good board, have been running in two computers for several mounths, no issues

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I have used several Gigabyte MoBo the past few years and have had no problems with them, but I buy them for what I intend using the computer for.

Rating + 4 Good for HTPC..

Pros: Don't ding this for the onboard video or sound or lack of ability to unlock your Phenom II cores. Buy another board if you want that. I can say I'm happy when Phenom II 550 stock on this board for an HTPC build. The onboard video at 3250 is ok, and will play Blu-Ray back at 1080p but you won't get the best sound if you direct audio thru the on-board HDMI.

So I picked up a 4550 card on the cheap, and got sound up to my likeness. Can't knock the board for this; you ought to know better.

Layout is good, but a little weird on the SATA and floppy placements. But I only (and would think you only) would use 2-3 SATA ports, so it's not a big deal. And I don't floppy at all, so I flipped floppy off in BIOS.

BIOS is detailed and you can boot from USB if floppy is off and it finds A:... that's your USB stick with (hopefully) your F3A bios on it.

Board is quiet, low power, Realtek sound is groovy in Win7 no issues.

Cons: Nada.

Other Thoughts: Win 7 RC 7100 X64
Cooler Master Case (cheap on, $30)
Trio of Rosewill fans (80x2 + 120)
Plextor Blu-Ray player
WD 750 GB HD (green)
This mobo
Radeon 4550 low prof w/ HDMI video
Hauppauge 2250
Elgato Hybrid (comes in as Hauppauge 950)
AMD Phenom II 550 (yawns in an HTPC, but ready to graduate to gamer one day)

Rating + 5 Great board

Pros: Well built, stable, good BIOS and utilities. Plenty of fan headers. Just works with no surprises.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I've recently purchased three similar AMD motherboards from three different vendors and the Gigabyte is by far my favorite. Very good BIOS for simple performance tuning. I'm not interested in overclocking, but it looks like it would support that well.

Rating + 5 Very nice upgrade

Pros: Really great layout...coming from a no good cheap ECS Nforce6m-a v2.0 this motherboard was a giant upgrade! All the options to overclock are there. 2 pci express 2.0 slots for 2 graphics cards. Supports up to 140w processors. Comes with a program to overclock processor, memory,an graphics card from the desktop. Comes with an application to upgrade your bios from the internet, nice an simple. With that simple bios upgrade from the internet the motherboard can support AM3 processors..meaning Phenom 2s. Extra ports that i might never use lol

Cons: The onboard sound is the biggest problem..it's not good, mine cracks an pops. Buy a sound card if you get this mobo..not really a big problem cause they're cheap now but you should. When I put in my original processor an AMD Athlon X2 4000 the whole system seemed to be going slow for some reason, gaming performance was no good at all so I had to replace the processor and upgrade to something higher than a dual core X2 at 2.5 ghz

Other Thoughts: This motherboard went into my system with some parts I already had..I just also had to buy a new processor.

This motherboard
An AMD X2 7750 Kuma Black Edition At 2.9ghz(stock=2.7)
4 Gigs of Kingston Ram
And a Sapphire ATI 4870 w/1 gig of DDR5
500 watt Thermaltake Toughpower supply

Rating + 5 great mobo

Pros: Overall great board. very easy to install. runs 6000+ 125w at a cool 30c (80f) at normal clock gaming. box has the AM3 cpu ready tag on it. so that's a plus

Cons: none!

Other Thoughts: the bios has an option to auto select either a 4pin or 3pin cpu fan which did not pick mine up correctly and gave me a annoying beeping till i figured it out. but it may have been fixed with bios updates.
its also works great with windows 7 and seems to be full compatible although the software its bundled with does not work yet.
i would definitely recommended this board to others great value.

Rating + 5 Eggxellent Board

Pros: My first build. AMD Ph II x3 720. Easy to follow instructions.
Got everything put together and had a boot issue. Called Gigabyte Tech and Eddie walked me right through it. Love the board, love the tech support from Gigabyte and love the service from Newegg.

Cons: NONE

Other Thoughts: I have read some negative comments about Gigabyte Tech Support here. Not only do I disagree, but Eddie was on top of my problem and had me up and running in no time. A tip of the cap to him and their Tech Support area. Thanks Eddie.

Pros: a) Supports phenom II AM3 cpus
b) Uses DDR2 memory (less expensive)
c) Plethora of overclocking features in bios
d) Less expensive than most AM3 motherboards
e) Overall quality of motherboard

Cons: a) Only supports DDR2 memory (slower)
b) Not an AM3 motherboard
c) No E-sata port
d) No AMD ACC feature to unlock cores
e) Bios bootup screen only stays visible for a couple seconds, not long enough to read it. Crazy annoying!
f) Price for motherboard currently too high

Other Thoughts: The colors are perttty looking.

Rating + 5 Another good board from Gigabyte

Pros: HDMI/SPDIF output make this board ideal for a HTPC. Four memory slots, 3PCIe 1x, two 16x (one runs a slower speed.) Four USB headers (plus four ports on the I/O panel.) Gigabit network, decent onboard video. PCI slots, PATA, FDD, LPT and COM port headers if you still need any of them for legacy hardware.

Cons: Full size ATX board limits your case options. Would gladly sacrifice the PCI slots of they'd put this many PCIe slots on a mATX board.
One of the 1x PCIe slots is right behind the rather large northbridge heatsink - some cards might have problems using this slot.
Only one system fan header on the board.

Other Thoughts: I don't overclock, but this board appears to have a lot of options for tweaking those settings.
The driver install disk has a "browser configuration utility" that, to quote the install program "sets your browser search engine to Google!" Not sure why this worthy of an exclamation mark, what this has to do with getting the motherboard components working in Windows, or why they needed to 2MB file to do this.

Rating + 5 There's a Reason I Buy Gigabyte First

Pros: Great Mobo. Easy setup, no hassling with settings or timings. It just works right out of the box. I bought this for a HTPC build and the integrated ATI 3200HD (HDMI) and optical audio out are perfect for this purpose. Using a full-ATX board gives me more expansion options, would I need them. As always, it is well-built and well laid-out. It has plenty of SATA 3.0 ports and more USB ports and headers than I'll ever use. Installation of Windows 7 was easy and all on-board devices work as they should.

All-in-all, I'm VERY happy with this board and would recommend it to anyone.

Cons: None at all. It has more than I need, feature-wise and works flawlessly in my applications. Perfect execution my Gigabyte.

Pros: Worked right out of the box. Mounted AMD 7750 CPU and it booted right up no problems. BIOS allows custom adjustments. On board video and audio good enough for budget system. Has plenty of slots for upgrade.

Cons: A little disapointed in the onboard video. But very close to what I expected.

Pros: Easy layout, Q-flash BIOs update for Linux users, plenty of headers and reasonable price.

Cons: Plastic bezel for SATA headers not as tight as I want em' to be. Switched to headers 2/3 to get better fit. No big deal in that 6 to work with.

Other Thoughts: Install RAM b4 CPU cooler!

Pros: Most of the board worked. Would have been 5 stars if all of the board worked.

Cons: 2 SATA ports bad... RMA'ed the board, waiting for a replacement. It's a very expensive waste of time to have to pull and replace a motherboard... but i have 6 SATA devices, and I need all the ports to work.

Pros: great board, everything i was looking for.

Cons: for some reason i can't get both the d-sub and the dvi to work. it doesn't really matter because i have a video card and am running 3 lcd monitors. but when i figure it out i'll be running it to my 32" tv so i can have all 4 screens running at the same time

Other Thoughts: the floppy drive connection is at the bottom? not that big of a deal if your not going to use raid but the connection ran kind of funny through the case.

Cons: none really...if it had worked...sata0 connector was not soldered properly and was very loose, spdif optical output did not work....random flashing horizontal lines from the video

Other Thoughts: called customer service and they were great..painless RMA and it's on its way back...as soon as my refund has been issued I'll order another board from NewEgg...truly stunning/excellent customer service...

Pros: Overall a good board. Easy to set up, almost no problems.

Cons: Agree with other reviewer--disappointed about video vertical jitteriness--absolutely made me install a video card. Manageable after that, though.

Other Thoughts: Don't rely on this board for pristine graphics by itself. Just assume you will need a card.

Pros: Works with phenom x3 720.

Cons: The vga signal jitters up and down on the screen. I tried 2 mobos, several monitors, and all the latest drivers. Can't get a stable image, so I'm adding a graphics card to solve the problem. The on-board graphics are fast if they only worked.

Other Thoughts: My first Gigabyte Mobo.

Rating + 5 Gigabyte does it again!

Pros: The board looked very nice right out of the box. I didn't see any little wires where they tried to patch the board up. I put a AMD Athlon 64 X2 7750 Kuma processor in this and it worked great. I didn't have to update the bios or anything. The board recognized the processor and I had 0 problems out of this board. Gigabyte makes good boards. I have bought 3 of them for different builds and they all worked fine.

Cons: The "power saving" software that comes with the board is pointless/useless. It saved about .001 watts! lol. Still a nice board though. You don't have to have the power saving software installed.

Other Thoughts: Please don't mark a good board down because you lack an understanding/don't know what you are doing. If 3 of the same board DOA in a row...you are doing something wrong or there is other hardware in your system that you should look at before automatically assuming it is the board. Ignore all the bad posts about this board. It runs great with 0 problems. I didn't use the onboard video...I don't know why you would anyways lol.

Rating + 4 GreatBoard, Some Annoying Glitches

Pros: I had the older version without the 2oz copper PCB (GA-MA78G-DS3HP). both of them share the exact same board layout and components. Overall, its a stable board, with fair overclocking potential.

Cons: There isn't any significant drawbacks, however, there are some minor & annoying glitches I must point out.

For about 2 months, my board seems to be booting randomly or restarting randomly like crazy. It often freaks me out when it boots up in the middle of the night, or shuts down when I am playing games. I once thought that it might be overheating, or have some damaged CPU, chipset, vid card, ram....

after checking each and every component, I am sure my CPU, ram, vid card are not broken...which leaves me to suspect that the mobo is somewhat broken. This is when i found the "PME event wakeup" in the BIOS power settings. I turned it off, and everything becomes normal!!!

I also turned off things like "USB wakeup from S3", I believe both of those settings are used to startup the computer with a click of a mouse. however, I'd rather have them 'disabled' than to have it boot/shutdown my comp randomly.

Other Thoughts: Also...here's a list of things i didn't like...

included overclocking software is practically useless and unstable. (not a problem if you change parameters in BIOS)

minimum ram voltages start at around 1.95V (somewhere around that)

Realtek Sound chip has some issue receiving input signals from microphone (MUTED MIC)--seems to be a ongoing issue with all realtek sound chips.

Qfan (auto fan control) settings in BIOS dosn't work with case fans (I dont see any varying fan speeds with my 12cm fan)

RESTARTING glitches!!! very annoying. remember to disable "PME event wakeup", unless you really want startup via USB input..

other than those mentioned, its a great & solid board if you can pardon those glitches.

Pros: installed first ever AM2+ system for my wife to play lotro on. Paired this with 4ghz DDR2 and the dual core 3.1 ghz AMD chip with a HIS HD 4670 card. Rating + 5 Solid board, good HDMI

Pros: (1) No build problems (2) runs fast (3) good HDMI out to my new 42" (4) Ubuntu 8.10 installed fine (5) seems solid and reliable with the large amount of copper, solid caps, etc

Cons: (Minor issue) New BIOS (F2D) installed fine but has a corrupted multiboot menu <F12>. Tech support answered my inqiry in a reasonable time, told me this is typical of a BETA BIOS, but I don't see anything on the BIOS page indicating that it's a BETA.

Other Thoughts: Warning: rambling comments ahead. I have some HDMI "jitter" (jumpy image) at times, but the overall technology just might not be all there yet. If I get all the way to the desktop with no jitter, I'm good to go. If not, a reboot or two gets me there. I don't think the MOBO is the culprit in any case. Scanning matches the display perfectly. There could be issues with the TV (first one died on day 30, but did not have any jitter, and was replaced with the same model; not Newegg) or my long cables (10m, no boost) or with the ATI drivers (Ubuntu works better without the Linux version loaded). Sound connectivity is dependent on order of tasks. If I turn off the TV, then come back later and turn it on with the PC still running, I get a Radeon popup stating that the HDMI audio is no longer active. I have the line audio connected along with the HDMI, so this is not a big deal, but you have to reboot to get the HDMI audio back. I think this is an HDMI thing, and not a mobo thing.

Rating + 5 Good MOBO

Pros: I bought MOBO from Newegg, (thank you for the always prompt delivery)
I’ve put together a few systems (anybody remembers 486-DX2 ?), but this mobo takes the prize, very well built, with every thing I could ask for my HTPC and my AMD 7750 CPU.
Good manual, with plenty of info and a DVD with all the XP and Vista drivers that you may need and a great interface that checks for all installed programs and drivers.
I did not care much for the bios Splash screen program since I could not get a good picture to show. (may be I’m doing something wrong)
I’m running Windows Vista Home Premium and I get a 4.0 grade, mainly from the video card which I think is pretty decent for an inboard GPU.
I hooked it up to my Sony 42” LCD TV and got a great picture and sound, although I noticed that if I’m not switched to the HDMI port on my TV when I turn on my computer, then I will not get any sound until I restart Vista and sees the input on the TV selected to that Port., makes no sense to me but may be

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I will recommend it for anybody with a small budget looking to set up a HTPC to stream video, pictures and more.
System:
Windows Vista Premium.
AMD 7750 CPU
Corsair, 4GB DDR2
Roseville mid Case
LG 22X DVD writer.
Maxtor 320 GB PATA.

Rating + 5 GA-MA780G-UD3H Review

Pros: It recognized my AM3 Phenom II X3 720 out of the box and everything came together perfectly.

Dual-BIOS is a very nice feature (one that should be included on every motherboard in my opinion).

Comes with competent integrated graphics, which is a nice thing to have on standby should something happen to my video card. I'm sure the Crossfire potential is nice as well, but I can't comment on that.

Cons: The RAM speed defaulted to 400 MHz, but changing it to 533 MHz (through the BIOS) wasn't a problem.

Rating + 5 Great Board

Pros: Solid Overclocking Features/Performance.
Pretty good on board graphics.
AM3 ready.
Up to 16GB of Ram.
Solid Bios Features.

Cons: Not a True Crossfire Board (limited speed).
No Rear E-Sata Connectors.
Only 4 Rear USB Ports (Already filled up).

Other Thoughts: This board is a better overclocker than the Asus M3A78-EM it replaced. My Phenom 8750 has been bumped up from 2.4 to 3.0, this board handles it with EASE. FSB has been bumped up from 200 to 240 which runs my DDR2 800 ram at 960, again, no problem. I currently have two of these boards, one is used a basic family pc. The onboard video is pretty good for HD and basic game playing. Before these boards I wasn't a huge Gigabyte fan, my faith in them has been restored.

P.S. I recommend downloading Easy Tune 6 from the manufacturers website.

Rating + 5 HTPC Heavan

Pros: Integrated graphics work great for HTPC. I had a Windows Media Center 2005 based system with a Pentium IV, 2.8 Ghz and 6600GT. I used to get stuttering and signal quality issues on HD (QAM) channels pretty consistantly, but was never sure if it was my system or the HDHomerun or the signal. Now I know. I paired this board with an Athlon X2 5050e (45W) and using onboard video, it runs great for HD content. I haven't installed a Blu-Ray drive yet, so I can't comment on that.

Cons: None at all so far. This was my first AMD board/CPU build, and so far, it's all good.

Other Thoughts: I have the HTPC stored in a glass front cabinet that I keep closed. For the old system, I had cut 4 4" diameter holes in the back of the cabinet for air cirulation, because it would get so hot (and the holes didn't help much if at all). The new system stays completely cool. BTW, I'm using a Silverstone Sugo mATX case, so small footprint as well. Finally, I can say the TV is extremely quiet. I am very, very happy. The only changes I plan to make are installing the Blu Ray drive, and changing the operating system. I installed Windows 7 to give it a shot, but it's just quirky enough to be annoying, though I think it will be awesome when they get it finalized. I'll probably go with Windows Vista, so I caninstall the Netflix app.

Rating + 1 Blue Screen of Death - BIOS LOCKED UP - Now no Video Output

Pros: Has many features needed to make a great media PC

Cons: This board worked for about and hour before it just went to a quick blue screen and would just re-start. After this happened the BIOS started to lock up and now there is now video output at all on the VGA or HDMI out. If I had read about other customers having this problem with this I wouldn't have bought this one. I need a new board HOT

Other Thoughts: I hate removing the board after is has ran for a while because you are always worried that you might damage the chip when you have to remove it for a defective board. I would like to replace this board with GIGABYTE GA-MA78G-DS3HP AM2+/AM2 AMD 780G HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard that I bought about a month ago if still availabe because it is still working with no problems

Rating + 5 Great value

Pros: Great value for price. Have it set up with a 2 port video card and running 4 monitors with Crossfire. Automatically set up CPU, memory, hard drives without adjustments on first power. Running Vista home premium 32bit, which boots much faster than XP for me, so very happy with it. Haven't messed with overclocking, so can't review that.

Cons: thinking...thinking...

Rating + 4 MOBO NONO's

Pros: High quality with loads of features. Have always used Asus in the past but all the recent q/c stories led to this, my first Gigabyte board.

Quality, features, and price combine to make this an great value. I'm real pleased with the board, bios, and software. But.....

Cons: Two minor issues have wasted huge amounts of time and energy:
1. There is no digital audio out . No spdif mod/bracket either. It's ridiculous. So I'm now about to make one from scratch because no one sells them and they never have. (Had same problem with Asus in the past).on the board or a bracket. It has HM
2. The manual is as complete as any. But, and this has been really annoying, some of the type is so small I've been using a magnifying glass- and it's still hard to read in places. That's insane. It also fell apart in 2 minutes.

90% of the time and effort on this build is going to 2% of the project. The cost for makers can't be more than one dollar to correct both problems. It's going to cost me about $5 in parts and a whole lot more in time. That's crazy too.

Rating + 3 Gonna try another board

Pros: Great overall features, particularly in the DualBIOS. Lots of SATA/USB ports. In general, Gigabyte has a great reputation, and it's well-deserved.

Cons: I had two these die on me within a few days. First one was RMA'd very quickly (kudos to Newegg!). Unfortunately, the same thing happened to the second board they sent me. Random blue screen errors/auto-reboots, and eventually no POST at all (and no error beeps either). Tested 4 different sticks of memory, I even bought additional RAM (off Gigabyte's Memory Support List) for the replacement board. Was running on a 500W PSU; bought a new one at 650W to test, but had the same result. HDD and Optical drives both check out. Tempted to buy another CPU to test if maybe the CPU was bad instead.

Other Thoughts: I REALLY like this board and really wish i hadn't gotten as unlucky as i had. But having two consecutive boards die on you is pretty frustrating. I'm still a fan of Gigabyte. for now, I'll just take my refund and try a different Gigabyte board.

Here's what I HAD setup:
AMD Phenom X3 8650 @2.3GHz (Triple-Core)
Stock CPU heatsink with Arctic Silver 5 thermal compound
Kingston 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR2 800MHz
Rosewill 500W PSU
WD Caviar Black 640GB SATA

Swap-tested with:
Mushkin 2GB 1066MHz (one stick)
Antec EarthWatts 650PSU

Rating + 3 phenom II 720BE issues

Pros: has on board grafix.

Cons: Stated compatible with phenom II 720 BE. Not really needed to wait till the new bios came out (F2D)

Other Thoughts: Had a rough couple of weeks trying to get this board to work with phenom II 720BE. Tried DDR2 1066 (2X2gb) 2.2v lots and lots of issues. I called Gigabyte tech support and they told me that the lower voltage memory should help, RMAed the DDR 2 1066 and got DDR2 800 (2X2gb) 1.9v still issues. Called again today and they told me a new bios was out. F2D 2009/03/12 Improve Phenom II CPU compatibility
Improve Audio compatibility. Do yourself a favor and make sure you flash the bios to F2D prior to anything if your using a phenom II processor. I will follow up after I get some use out of the F2D bios

Pros: Does what I need it to do. No problems so far. Good BIOS and software for overclocking.

Cons: None.

Rating + 5 Solid, Dependable, Easy Install

Pros: Easy install. Board feels solid and hefty. Found and installed everything without issue. Set my RAM for me which was nice. Runs cool under stress with no hiccups. Good onboard heatsinks. Plenty of room to plug everything in. Alot of SATA connectors which is a big plus. Monitoring/Overclocking software is nice.

Cons: Didn't find any upon install.

Other Thoughts: This is my 5th build and 2nd with Gigabyte. Something feels right about these boards and I think I'll be staying with them in the future. They also look great in open cases : )

Rating + 4 Great board but has shortcomings

Pros: Everything worked on first boot, and I even got an AMD 7750 X2 to boot into Windows at 3.3GHz at stock voltage.

Comes with HDMI, DVI, and RGB ports. You can use dual monitors with just the IGP, awesome.

2 PCI-E x 16 is a great design choice. You can't XFire ATi cards (I think) but if you have an ATi card you can, theorectically, add a cheap 9500GT or something in tandem to do PhysX processing for you. Or you can put a nice RAID controller in there.

Plays nice with Windows XP Pro and AHCI.

Nice big heatsink for the nortbridge.

Attractive blue PCB.

Front Audio Port is thankfully not placed on the bottom left corner of the motherboard like other board makers do. You should have no problems connecting a front audio cable from your chassis to this port.

Cons: Would have preferred 1 less PCI-E x 1 and one more PCI slot.

Not too crazy about the heatsink they used on the southbridge. It's probably not an issue, but it felt like it was loosely fitted.

USB ports and Floppy disk port are in weird spots that aren't great for cable management. (Would prefer if the USB ports are where the Floppy Disk controller is and the floppy next to the IDE port)

An e-SATA port would have been great.

Memory voltage can not be set below 1.9V for some reason. This may pull a fast one on the SPD on the RAM as timings might not be set correctly by default (mine were not, though countless reviewers said that the modules in question booted with correct timings) I sent Gigabyte an email about at and they said that they would forward my complaint to their R&D department

Other Thoughts: This is one of the few boards that play nice with AHCI and Windows XP that I know of. To get AHCI to work first set SATA ports 0-3 to AHCI or RAID mode in the BIOS. Keep ports 4-5 IDE though. Plug your hard drive into either port 4 or 5 and install Windows XP. Install South bridge drivers/RAID drivers and shut down the machine. Then move the SATA plug to any port labeled 0-3 and voila you have AHCI ('course AMD's southbridge could be a lot better, fingers crossed for their next iteration).

This will probably work for Windows Vista if you've having problems as well.

Pros: Excelent board, hybrid crossfire (in 3-way form) stupid features.

Cons: Not a con, but stop putting Nvidia cards on this. It's not hybrid SLI, it's hybrid CROSSFIRE. Your supposed to use the onboard video.

Other Thoughts: It's a Gigabyte. Nuff said.

Rating + 5 A+ for Gigabyte

Pros: Solid design, Lots of room to work, the heatsinks are very well built.

Cons: Low amount of USB ports, but that is a easy fix with a PCI slot.

Other Thoughts: I did not test the on board video, as I bought the GTX 260 with this build. I'll be upgrading to Phenom II 3.0 soon, which should make my benchmarks go up a bit.

Rating + 4 Nice motherboard for the price

Pros: Nice I/O cover for the case included and plenty of USB/SATA/1394 connections, though I only have 1 1394 device that I rarely even use. Nice SATA cables with clips to keep them in place. Build in graphics seem to be nice spec, though I ordered with a 4870, so I didn't test them out.

Cons: No parallel port, though I guess I should have a USB printer by now anyway, right? Did not detect my PC8500 as such, though I believe this is not the motherboards fault as I've read the spec on most 8500 RAM that is read to detect the speed is actually the same as 6400.

Other Thoughts: Nice motherboard for the money. Not a whole lot of features, but had everything I was looking for and more.

Rating + 4 nice board-sinks loose

Pros: crossfire-OC ease-nice all the way around

Cons: only a couple to mention. My previous board (biostar) would recognize my wireless keyboard even before the OS loaded, this one will not (probably my keyboard itself so no loss of egg here) the loss of egg is the heat sinks seem a bit loose, they need to do better on putting those on. but overall, not bad board at all.

Other Thoughts: If you want simple and yet fast, this is the board for you. If your into extreme...then get a board with dual crossfire- btw, if the board only sees memory at 800 instead of 1066, its the CPU's fault..not the boards... none of the boards will see the speed without the correct CPU to recognize it. Rating + 5 Great for HTPC

Pros: Great layout, solid caps, has everything I needed and then some. Just put together a HTPC for my home theater and everything just works!! Using a sapphire hdmi 4550, so I can't comment on onboard video, but this was so smooth I would recommend it for any type of build. Paired it up with an Athlon 64 x2 5050e, and there's nothing but cold air blowing out of the back of the case!

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Finally pulled the trigger on this build and now I'm enjoying flawless HD content on my 110" screen. I don't think I'm ever going to the movies again.

Rating + 4 nice board

Pros: Very nice board, easy to work with! will buy again on another build.

Cons: Gigabyte could have used a little bit better fastening devices to hold down heatsinks on NB and SB. They feel a bit loose but stay on with the plastic pins with springs. Oh well, board seems to work fine so I won't dock them more than one egg for something that I can't say is broken

Other Thoughts: I will also add that I always like how Gigabyte boards seem to be put together better aesthetically. They look like more time was spent designing them, the quality comes with as well, it's not just a bunch of bright plastic pieces.

Rating + 4 Just two small problems

Pros: Great board at a great price.

Cons: The driver for the on-board graphics that came on the CD didn't give full performance. It got a 1 on the Windows performance index. I downloaded the latest driver from ATI, installed and the index jumped to a 4.

Second problem is that although the board supports 1066 ram it defaults to 800 even when 1066 is installed. You have to modify the DRAM settings in the bios manually to do. It should be easy but the setting to do so (as illustrated in the user's manual) isn't on the ram tweaker screen. Hopefully a bios update will fix. In the meantime, if anyone knows how to set for 1066 ram please post.

Other Thoughts: I would still buy again but hopefully this will save some time for those installing

Rating + 5 Great Board

Pros: Great board, Had an Asus M3A780 Pro, Nothing but problems, On board video went out right after I loaded windows. Besides who uses floppy drives anymore. I loaded this gigabyte board and it came right up with no problems. Upgraded from XP to Vista Ultimate and runs great. Started out with 2gig of ram and installed 2 gig more after xp was running. Running F1 bios no issues or upgrades as of yet. running stable with amd 6000 X2. 4gig of corsair 667 that i had laying around. WD 500gig HD, 1 samsung DVD Light scribe, 500w PS, Sigma Phatom csae. Great layout, features, works great with media center, Recorded TV shows. Great features for overclocking. Will up grade to Phenom 2 soon and ram.

Cons: None as of yet,

Other Thoughts: My other 4 home pc,s all running Gigabyte boards and will stay with gigabyte. Have old pc running amd 2200 and still kickin away. Ordered from newegg on wednesday received on friday. awsome. If your looking for a great board to upgrade later to phenom 2 this is the one. Should last for awhile until I do my next build.

Pros: 780G chipset, Firewire, AM3 support, DDR2 1200, HDMI, Dual BIOS

Cons: Only 4 USB onboard, Had some driver difficulty with a dedicated ATI graphics card,

Other Thoughts: Was a little skeptical as this board is relatively new and without reviews, but my concern was unnecessary. Second Gigabyte board I've used, and again happy with it. Board is nice looking (not that it matters), feels well built, and has good features at a good price. Wouldn't hesitate to use Gigabyte again, and probably will.

Pros: Although the price is cheap,....there is nothing cheap about this mobo. Supports DDR2 1200+ and is AM3 ready which is good just in case I want to upgrade my cpu later. Looks good and is very durable. Comes with bundle of utility programs that are very useful. One program gives specs of whole sys along with temps and fan speed that you can tweeak.

Cons: None yet. Board does everything I expected and more for the price.
