Nice board
Pros: Worked out of box, nice features, what more can you ask for?
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: This is my first build and newegg really made this a great experience. I am still learning about computers and i really don't know what this MB is truly capable of but i plan to find out!

Great Board, but...
Pros: Quality construction, looks good, good onboard audio, many sata connections, very thorough manual. BIOS makes OC easy.
Cons: Odd size. Falls short of last set of support posts in ATX mid sized case, so the last 3 or so inches of the board have no back support. While installing RAM, the board flexes...can't be good...so, you need to hold the edge of the MB with one hand while installing RAM with your other hand. Not ideal.
Other Thoughts: My MB came with the most recent version of BIOS, F9. However, I was getting 3 random BSOD errors per day. After a clean install of my OS and reinstalling programs/drivers, the random BSOD problem remained. I tested my RAM & HDD...all good.
I ended up moving my HDD SATA cable from the GSATA2_0 slot on the MB to the SATA2_0 slot...and, no more BSOD. I have no RAID arrays set up, but for whatever reason, the extra RAID capabilities of the GSATA connectors were causing errors.

Works Great
Pros: Great motherboard with plenty of options on board and in the BIOS. Perfect for the price! Runs cool and stable.
Cons: This motherboard does not play nicely with the (G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F2-8500CL5D-4GBPK.) I have read a bunch in regards to this memory and this MB. Check the G.Skill forums and there are many many people who have issues with this memory and motherboard combination. I have gotten the memory to run semi-stable at 1066 (using the G.Skill technical support settings for this specific motherboard) but it still crashes after about an hour of use. I have changed the settings to every setting configurable but this memory is not stable at 1066 with this board. I have clocked the memory down to 800 MHz and it seems to run fine. I also updated the MB firmware to the latest F9.
Other Thoughts: Still a great motherboard for the price, everything is in perfect position.

Excellent Board
Pros: Everything about this board is excellent. Strong, deep bios. Perfect placement & quantity of SATA ports. Solid sinks for the bridges. Great arrangement of the RAM in relation to other components. All of the plugs were placed in great fashion as well. Oh, and they include a ton of cables.
Cons: None.

Pros: Great motherboard! Love the way the heat sink & fan are mounted to the CPU -- almost to easy. The BIOS is also easy to setup. I have not had any problems thus far -- thanks Gigabyte for a super product and Newegg for a good price!
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: I wish it had a LPT1 port; however, it was time for me to move on to other advanced connections. This really was not a big deal for me - I needed this excuse to rid myself of a dinosaur laser printer.

Great Board
Pros: Very solid board for any build, tons of features and great for OCing. One of the best MB manuals I've ever seen. 8 sata connectors, the rear sata connector expansion was actually a selling point for me and it's as great as I hoped it would be (I repair/upgrade Xbox HDs). Works perfect.
Cons: The board is actually slightly smaller than a standard ATX board and it doesn't line up with the three forward screws in the case, gigabyte or themaltake(my case) didn't include those little plastic standoffs either but I found some in my screw bin.
Other Thoughts: This board rocks, easy to install and setup and the manual is great for novice builders. It's fast and stable with tons of features and alot less than some enthusiast boards while still capable of high end applications. I'd recomend it to anyone that want's a decent AMD based system but is cost consious.

Pros: Worked great right out of the box, good documentation, easy installation, and nice bios features. Turning out to be a great board for the 1st time overclocker thanks to idiot-proof type features like dual bios. Compared to my old intel board it seems very sturdy. Zalman CNPS 9500 AM2 snapped right on and is keeping my conservatively overclocked phenomII x3 720 nice and cool.
Cons: Personally I don't care for some of the bundled software like et6 and the "green" power conservation app (ended up removing that one). Also gigabytes @bios in-windows bios updater didn't pull the newest bios version (f9) from their update server so had to do that manually. A few areas in the documentation & on the giga site have unclear "engrish" that left me scratching my head. Overall very minor cons.
Other Thoughts: 4gb A-data DDR2 800, EVGA GTX 260 core 216 superclock, Antec 650 earthwatt, the Zalman cooler mentioned above, Arctic 5 cpu goo, WD caviar black HD, win7 64. I'm an OCing newbie just learning the ropes. Running right now at - Clock Speed: 3314.9 MHz (2800 stock rated Phenom II x3 720) - Bus xMulti: 200.9 x 16.5 - RAM Speed: 800 MHz - Vcore: 1.312v
These settings have passed a 4hr Prime95 stress test with 33c core temps, measured by Everest. As my experience grows I'll push further but as of right now I'm happy with stock voltage running stable at 3.3ghz ice cold. Cheers to gigabyte & amd!

Great mobo!
Pros: Many many features Overclocks great Dual bios with reset jumper (wish it was a button, but meh) Easy setup and pretty good documentation. Works with Phenom II BE out of the box, no bios flashing needed. Has manual OC and auto OC features :) Very durable, with the 2 oz board, this board doesnt flex much, and is very heavy, i had no problems attaching the heatsink and not sweating if i was gonna snap the board. :)
Cons: The MOFSET heatpipe/heatsinks are HOT! I want to get a aftermarket cooler for them... they're almost searing hot. The SATA bank faces sideways so depending on the case you may have one hell of a time trying to get the cables to fit without breaking the connectors. There are 2 Power LED headers... I'm not sure which to use, apparently after reading the manual the one alone (about a inch above the normal bank of front panel/led/button header) will allow the power LED to bink when the computer is in standby but the one in the main bank won't? *shrug* Wish they could slightly move the CPU towards the back of the board... my cooler (freezer pro 7 blocks the 1st ram slot from my ram, i have the OCZ reaper (with the heatpipes)) One little gripe: the case badge is HUGE! O.o
Other Thoughts: Great board otherwise, paired with the right case, installation is a breeze.

DDR 1066 Yeah Right
Pros: Good Price; Good for internet use or average everyday use.
Cons: I got this board and had trouble right off the bat. The NIC - lan would not work and after days of changing timings and voltages, as well as 3 different types of memory, I have found this board will not remain stable with DDR 1066 at any voltage or timing set . It will only work at 800.
Other Thoughts: Don't waste your money on DDR 1066. Get the 800 instead. I don't advise getting this board for gaming.

Runs like a dream
Pros: Low running temp, Handles AM3, AM2 and AM2+ cores. Picked this board after having a problem with an ASUS board and ever since I haven't had a single issue yet. Computers been up and running now for 4 months and I have yet to experience any sort of problem at all.
Cons: Personally I don't have any but some might not like the 8 pin 12v power connector for the CPU.
Other Thoughts: I needed to buy a whole new power supply to support the motherboard but I was building a whole new rig so that wasn't a downside to me. But if you are upgrading an existing machine then you might want to make sure your current power supply has the proper connections.

<RE: Memory Supported?>
Pros: DDR2 1333 OC means that if you were OCing...it *could* handle speeds of 1333MHz, *could* So it WILL handle all standard forms of DDR2 (667/800/1000/1066).
Cons: Most users don't intend to take it past the 1066 speeds. But if you were so inclined...then you have the *support*
Other Thoughts: I'm waiting on a nice combo deal, price drop or something to purchase mine. Have a 940 quad just lying around with 2 spare 3870 Toxics.... =)

great MoBo
Pros: Supports many AMD CPUs, & highly tweakable!
Does it all (almost), and does it well.
Cons: it has yet to do the laundry.

3 1/2 month ownership
Pros: Worked great out of the box. Was used to replace my ASUS M2N 570 sli delux board that went out on me.
Cons: After 3 months of owning this board, it decided to finally give me issues. Out of the blue, the system shuts off. And when trying to start it up, nothing. I have to flip the switch to cut off all current, then once that is done, i can start it up, but only to have it shut off again when i reach the desktop.

Excellent Buy
Pros: -stable, overclocks well -versatile bios, dual bios feature is a lifesaver -e-sata, lots of sata connectors -very happy with the build quality, have had ZERO problems with this motherboard, very pleased with GIGABYTE -support for AM2, AM2+, AM3 cpu's
Cons: -none its exceeded my expecations
Other Thoughts: I'd recommend this board for a standard pc or for a gaming pc, it has integrated video (as well as hdmi support and excellent integrated sound) I currently use it for gaming with a n-vidia 9800 GTX and everything runs fantastic at max settings. Also very pleased with bios/driver updates from gigabyte.

Get the moste recent F9 bios update for stability
Pros: IF you plan on OC'ing with this motherboard, then I would recommend going to the Gigabyte site and downloading the newest bios which is F-9. Also get the Face Wizard on their site which will allow you to update your bios in Windows.
Cons: I was having BSOD problems while OC'ing with the F-5 bios and found out that the AMD 955 & 965 chips were having issues with the bios especially when over clocking.
After installing the F-9 bios.....my 955 is stable at 3.957Ghz and my memory now can run OC'ed at 1066 as advertised.
Other Thoughts: Good factory support and great bios updates make me one happy Gigabyte and NewEgg customer.
AMD 955 oc'd to 3.957 Gskill PC8500 DDR2 ram at 1066 finally! Corsair H-50 water cooling NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GSO video card WD 640GB black HD

Awesome, for the most part.
Pros: This is my 2nd review of this board. Overall, it's awesome! great features all the way around. I love it.
Performance is great, that's not the concern. See below if you use Linux.
Cons: Gigabyte says on their site for this board: ""Due to different Linux support condition provided by chipset vendors, please download Linux driver from chipset vendors' website or 3rd party website.""
This statement isn't accurate IMO. - Chipset is made by AMD, not gigabyte; but gigabyte modifies the chipset, which makes an OS install look for drivers other than the standard AMD chipset drivers that ship with Linux.
This board, and almost ALL other AMD based chipset motherboards are well supported in Linux; but gigabyte modifies the chipset; in what way, I don't know.
In Linux, this board runs awesome, however, the following will NOT work:
1. CPU Temp monitoring 2. CPU fan speed 3. Fan speed of case/system fans 4. chipset temp monitoring
This is a concern since I dual-boot w/Vista 64 and Ubuntu 910 x64. I run BOINC to do tasks for SETI@Home and others. When I do, all 4 cores of the CPU run at 100%.
If you use Linux, and require hardware monitoring, choose another b
Other Thoughts: I submitted an updated review specifically to address chipset support in Linux.
I took off one star from my previous review because Gigabyte makes small modifications to the AMD chipset, and says to download chipset drivers from the chipset vendor or 3rd party; which in this case, is in fact Gigabyte.
Overall, they make great motherboards, but if you want hardware monitoring in Linux, pick a different brand where they don't modify the chipset.

Just bought from F r y s electronics
Pros: Great connections on the inside of the board. I liek the esata card that came with it (for External Sata drives). I installed it along with a new graphics card and a AMD Phenom 955 (and an old geforce). As you probably read it comes with like 4 sata and 2 esata to sata cables and one ide.
WARNING:"While using this board do not remove the processor without unplugging the power supply first." This was in the user guide lol.
Cons: Limited standard pci connections (3), im already maxed out but no prob.
Other Thoughts: I bought for $10 more and saved a shipping fee, woot! Had to get it for xmas, everyone deserves a present. If you have any ?'s here's my temp email. help@temp-mail.tk

Great Motherboard.
Pros: Great motherboard. Works wonderfully. Flawless AM3 Support. Plenty of extra features. Very sturdy.
Cons: Audio header in a strange spot. But it still works fine for me.
Other Thoughts: We will eventually be moving up to DDR3 and so on, but for us still using our DDR2 memory sticks this helps keep us in the running for a little longer.

Fantastic board
Pros: The user manual is very thorough, I read it but hardly needed it because the BIOS started without a hitch. I selected optimal settings, and that was it. This is my first build, and the board itself is very well labeled and easy to work with. Can handle almost every AMD cpu ever. Also, there are SATA and USB ports up the wazoo, plus others. And I love the colors 8)
Cons: zip
Other Thoughts: My first build : This Board AMD Phenom 720 2.8 WD 500 GB HDD 550W power (some retail brand) ATI 3850 card (couple years old) in a APEVIA case Way to go Newegg!

Solid
Pros: Everything about this board is good. I have used 3 so far and by far the best motherboard I have ever used, and I have used many brands and dozens of boards. Very stable.
Cons: I have nothing to complain about with this. The North and South bridge cooling works.
Other Thoughts: This board has great overclock settings. It is rock solid. It Will run the latest cpu's+ the older Am2. Ram support has never been a problem. I use 1066 Ram. I have used Corsair, Kingston,Mushkin, and PNY. I usually downclock the ram to 800MHz when I overclock the cpu which in turn will overclock the Ram. Works! Quality.

Gigabyte magic
Pros: Fast, stable, configurable for overclocking. Consistent quality throughout the board. The extended cooler for the Northbridge was a welcome addition. SATA connectors are in a good spot on edge of board.
Cons: Only con would be the placement of the 8-pin power connector and the connector for front audio.
Other Thoughts: Gigabyte makes a very consistent build. I have bought and used many Gigabyte boards and it is very easy to replace a board with little or no problems

Great Board
Pros: Great driver support for win 7 64. Of all the boards I have purchased this is the best. I think I will stick to gigabyte from now on. Everything is arranged well.
Cons: The only con I have is that it didn't come with a speaker and my case didn't have one. Luckily I had the ability to liberate one from another build but not a big deal.
Other Thoughts: I would have made this purchase over again no question.

Um...
Pros: Putting together my first AMD build by myself and thought I was doing something wrong. Turns out the board was bad. The CPU, fans and lights/LEDs all turned on, but the HDD, USBs and CD drives wouldn't. Tech support was great and had me go through quick 1-2-3 steps that proved the board was bad in a little under 30 minutes. Newegg was great on the RMA. Another one is being overnighted to me as we speak.
Cons: Obviously, a bad board... Though, not too dissapointed. These things tend to happened and I know Gigabyte is a quality manufacturer, and because the tech support was so great I decided to stick with them and try another one. Will post an update upon recieving a working unit.
Other Thoughts: Just FYI though I couldn't give this 5 stars. I gave it 3 because Newegg sent me a board that I believe was used. The box looked intact and put away perfectly but the board was not placed in the anti-static bag, I have a feeling I got a return or something. First time this has happened to me but it happened with the CPU I bought from them too (Different review).
Again, Newegg was great in offering timely RMA, let's just hope this doesn't happened again. Would hate to have to change who I buy products from. Been a Newegg customer for years and having 2 used items ship to me in the same package was quite frankly shocking and dissapointing.

DOA
Pros: High ratings from others, everything I needed.
Cons: Unfortunately it arrived DOA, and since I was an idiot and waited to install it, Newegg's return policy does not apply. I suggest if you are going to build your own system, you don't wait until you get back from your honeymoon. As soon as you are invoiced, the newegg return clock is ticking.

Good Board
Pros: Easy to install, Put a AMD Phem x2 550 in it, using the newest BIOS unlocked the cores to make it a x4, very stable board
Cons: Didn't morph into a X105-A Strike or anything...
Other Thoughts: Secret Bios menu! Alt-F1 (or Ctrl)

Great Board for the Money
Pros: This board has everything you could want, its easy to OC, and have gotten my Phenom 2.3ghz up to 3.1 with standard air cooling. It is nice and roomy for those big Graphics cards, and it looks good to boot. I would recommend this MoBo to anyone, weather it be a first time build, or your 3rd or 4th.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: The packaged esata bracket, has done me wonders, and let data transfer be a breeze. No more sticking in hdd's just for a quick tranfer from one computer to another.

Good board, Bad (gigabyte) customer service
Pros: Solid board, lots of options, stable. Newegg is still the best, no matter what anyone says! :)
Cons: I needed the board immediately (work from home frequently) - my previous board's southbridge died (5+ year old Asus A8N-E obtained through the AMD tech tour, with an S939 Opteron 165) rendering it non-bootable.
I had this MA790X-UD4P board, a new 720BE retail, and some Patriot ram overnighted to me, which Newegg delivered perfectly!
The new Gigabyte board came with a blank driver disc. I did not have access to other methods of internet access (restricted at work) for a couple of days (very, very busy schedule).
I called Gigabyte, they said they would *OVERNIGHT* a new disc. When I didn't receive it the very next day, nor the following day, I called back, and two supervisors there claimed they _never_ overnight replacement discs - they only send standard mail. Huge PITA.
Thanks Gigabyte! I know to never buy another one of your products again because, when I needed it most, your customer service utterly failed me, a first-time customer of yours. Way to go!
Other Thoughts: Newegg, as always, was perfect. Since Gigabyte didn't assist me at all, I called to ask Newegg to refund the overnight shipping and just charge normal shipping, because I could not use any of the products I purchased without those drivers (XP Pro SP2 disc). Newegg promptly refunded all shipping charges, which was more than I had asked for! Thanks alot, Newegg! I've been a loyal customer from the beginning, and will continue to be with this kind of service!

Great Reliable Mobo
Pros: The motherboard is feature rich, loads of USB and sata ports, and i like that it has good capacitors and cooling for the regulators. its compatibility is fabulous ( i am still running an older fx-62 till i get more money). its accessories are nice (clipped sata cables, nice e-sata bracket). I really like the optical and SPDIF out on the mobo for the onboard audio. runs cool, though i don't overclock. it has a nice bios on it, and have had no compatibility issues with it.
Cons: RAM a hair too close to the RAM slots for my Arctic cooling cooler (traded for a zalman instead). SATA ports are labeled backwards, my SATA2 5 is labeled SATA2 0, but once i figured that out it wasn't a big deal. I personally can't stand the realtek software for their onboard audio, though most people probably don't use the utility that much.
Other Thoughts: i kinda wish it still had a serial port, since a lot of my simple projects and labs from school still use one, but I can understand why it is gone, this board is marketed to enthusiasts who don't need one anymore. i also wish for more PCI slots, but again, they are a dying standard. strange placement for the front audio header (its on the back of the mobo, so most cases won't have long enough cables to reach it), and the fan headers are in strange locations too, almost like they were trying to put them away from the standard fan locations. overall though, this was bought as a replacement for a slightly older flamethrower NF590 board which was always overheating the chipset despite adding a fan to it and redoing the thermal paste, and it has performed very admirably. benchmarks would be kind of pointless, since the rest of the machine is incredibly antiquated (FX-62, 8800GT graphics, 200GB PATA HDD), but the system is very stable and hasn't given me any trouble whatsoever.

Pros: My first Gigabyte. The last mobo I bought was an Asus and I could swear by them. Did very extensive research before buying this one and I got hooked by Gigabyte. Seems to be a great mobo with tons of expension and possibilities. Also looks "attractive". I am not a gamer and not yet O.C'er, so I paired it up with Athlon II X2 245 and 4GB 1066, which is plentiful for my current needs. As many before me mentioned, not all the holes line up with the case, but it is not such a big deal.
Cons: When installing GPU in the first PCI Express slot (as should be), a very high-pitch noise is produced from somewhere, which both driving me nuts and giving me (literally) a headache. I tried another GPU with exact same results. I then moved the GPU to the second PCI slot and the noise is gone, so obviously something is up with that PCIEX16_1, but I don't like working off the PCIEX8_1 with only one GPU.
Other Thoughts: Like many others, I had hard time configuring the memory at 1066. When set to Auto the BIOS will only recognize it as 800. Had many BSOD before I run into some support pages of G.Skill tech support web site and that solved the problem (manual configuration).

Reliable and very configurable
Pros: I am not an overclocker, but this board provides many configuration options and settings that appeals to both a computer building novice or an expert. I configured the board for RAID 1 and there have been no problems after a couple months of operation. The price was also excellent for the amount of features. I especially like the eSATA.
Cons: Absolutely none!

AWESOME MOBO
Pros: Excellent audio, looks visually very cool, great number of slots and lay out is very well engineered.
Cons: None so far
Other Thoughts: I was a bit iffy about this brand but now that my friends and I have been using Gigabyte I recommend them to everyone!

Performs flawlessly
Pros: Using a Phenom II X3 720 retail CPU I had no problem enabling all 4 cores running at 1.350 volts at a 17X multiplier on a 200 MHz front side bus resulting in a 3.415 GHz rating. This mobo exhibits outstanding build quality. This is my first build using a Gigabyte mobo and I've been building gaming PCs since 1990.
Cons: Absolutely none.
Other Thoughts: The BIOS is very extensive and complete. At 112 pages the English language manual is the best I've run accross to date and I've been building gaming boxes for almost 20 years. I definitely will buy more mobos manufactured by Gigabyte. Way to go guys!.

Awesome Board
Pros: Motherboard is awesome, unlocked 2mb cache on Phenom 805 and additional core on 720Be. Also external sata bracket and 8 sata ports.
Cons: Does not really like 1066 memory takes extra steps to get it to work.
Other Thoughts: Good solid board if you need every type of input and multiple drives. Works great with win7 ultimate 64bit

SOLID motherboard
Pros: 8 rear USB ports PLUS 4 for headers on your case is AWESOME, no need for a hub here unless you're a maniac. Attractive colors, integrated audio is good and the software to control it has some good functionality. Stable, can take up to PC 1333 RAM, lots of SATA ports and still a floppy and IDE port, good price, liked the BIOS setup.
Cons: The 8-pin power receptacle for the CPU is located near the top left corner of the board. In order for the PSU cord to make it, it must be stretched almost all the way out. Not a huge neg but when you're working in the case it can get in the way because there is nowhere to move it without temporarily disconnecting it.
Other Thoughts: I would have liked to have seen more PCI card slots, maybe even just 1. I think these companies want to push you out of old standards even though a lot of cards are still fine for PCI such as ethernet and tuner cards. The USB ports make up for this in part I suppose.

Pros: WOOO_HOOO.... worked perfectly on the first try. Unlocked my Phenom 2 550 X2 all four cores running. Has 8+2front USB ports. Has 6 SATA ports and 2 rear esata. WOW!!! Used this on a total new build...fired up
Cons: Didn't get here on Tuesday
Other Thoughts: I had a real hard time deciding on this board. Read alot of forums and reviews--all said this board was good. Took me a week to decide...they were right, this is a good board. Ordered it on a Monday and got it on Wednesday. Can't beat this board.

Solid Board
Pros: Worked right out of the box, has great BIOS options, comes with nice cables and accessories, sturdy PCB, good performer.
Cons: Cooling. The southbridge heatsink is very small, and the position of the chip behind the top PCI Express slot limits upgrade options (capacitors on my graphics card almost touch the stock heatsink). Likewise, the northbridge and MOSFET heatsink(s) are small and are dependent on CPU cooler airflow. If you water cool your CPU, you may have to create some airflow to keep your temps down. Also, the blue caps on the heatsinks (one says "GIGABYTE" the other says "Ultra Durable") restrict airflow. Removing them dropped my temps a few degrees.
Other Thoughts: I can find no MOSFET waterblocks that fit, and the wide spacing of the NB heatsink mounting holes limits the selection of securely mouted waterblocks.
If you don't plan to water cool, this board is a great choice. If you do (northbridge included) you may want to look elsewhere.

Budda Bing/Budda Boom
Pros: Worked right out of the box, no problems. Hooked up everything, went into the bios, with lots of options to tweek your heart away. the manual has a lot of information to pick-away in the bios. The SATA connectors are in a perfect spot, facing away from the board. A long video card doesn't interfere with SATA cables, and two more connectors near the bottom of the board.
Cons: NO cons.
Other Thoughts: The board isn't dark looking like some with all dark colors. This mobo looks great. I love the bright blue heat spreaders with the shiny tubes. There were lots of goodies that came as accessories. You won't go wrong buying this mobo. Looks great with lots of options and power.

Great Mobo
Pros: Very heavy sturdy mobo, plenty of onboard SATA, 7.1 onboard sound, plenty of USB ports. What more could you ask for? All for a cheap price.
Cons: Only goes up to DDR2 1333 so will have to upgrade in some time. Still great mobo.
Other Thoughts: Includes a eSATA dongle you put on one of your PCI slots and attach internally to the onboard SATA.

Great Board
Pros: Built a new computer from scratch useing this board 6 mths ago. Best choice I made. Paired it w/ AMD Phenom X4 processor which works GREAT. I found it best to chose your own video card, since only you know what it'll be used for. It has a thermal sensor for case & processor temp. & lots of extras. I recommend desk speakers. The direct output power is set up for Theater Surround Sound, low watts. External ports for drives w/ power and everything. Install disk has an energy saving program that 'throttles' CPU to useage needs. Very impressed. I'd recommend this to my friends and family.
Cons: NONE
Other Thoughts: I think the Energy Saver program conflicts with XP, always have to start it manually after computer boots. Hope W7 fixes that.

Great mobo so far
Pros: Dual PCI-E, Crossfire, 6+2 SATA, optical and coax digital audio, lots of expansion possibilities, RAID, really is an overclockers dream. Unlocked my Phenom II 550 Black Edition no problem and still overclocked to 3.7ghz. Freakin' sweet! Mobo runs around 40c with ample cooling for my case as the same with my processor. No cr@ppy built in video I wouldn't use anyway.
Cons: Can't get the extra 2 SATA's to work. Not sure W T F's going on there. Haven't contacted Gigabyte yet. I plugged the external SATA bracket into normal SATAs and it works fine. No biggy because I don't have enough devices to fill all the slots. Can't get RAID to work without blue screening on an install of Vista where I hadn't loaded the driver during the initial install. Enabled RAID after installing windows and it doesn't like that I guess. My last board had Nvidia RAID and it was recognized without drivers. So using windows software RAID function because I don't want to reinstall.
If any of you guys have a problem with popping or glitching audio just turn off cool and quiet in the BIOS and problem goes away. I had popping on ALL audio cards I tried, even an external USB audio device AND the built in digital. Lots of research later I found that the cool and quiet causes it on a lot of mobos each time the motherboard changes the multiplier. Newegg won't let me put B*TT in my post!
Other Thoughts: Couldn't bring myself to lower my rating based on my cons. This is a really great mobo. I have so many cooling fans in my case I really don't give a cr@p if another fan runs at full speed with no cool and quiet. It's no louder than all the other fans. I always have the music jamming anyway. :-D Don't know why people have a problem with this mobo. It's just like every manufacturer. Problem products slip by in every industry and the computer industry is no exception. I have had only one Gigabyte mobo be a pain in the rear and had to send it back and that's been years. Gotta love newegg. They take this stuff back no questions asked. Buy it already, stop reading my post!

Good Board
Pros: So far so good. I like the bios, lots of features compared to my old msi micro atx. Very easy to install, emphasis on very. I am in the process of upgrading my first build, and it took me all of 30 mins to swap board and i was up and running! Seems very well built and sturdy.
Cons: The holes on the side with the 24 pin power connector do not line up with the standoff's, just like everyone else said. What is up with this gigabyte? I don't get it.
I was somewhat disappointed in this board overclocking abilities. It only overclocks my amd 550 xII as much as my other 50 buck msi micro board. I was expecting a bit more. But, I have to say, I do have the ability to changes voltages, whereas i didnt with my msi. I will play around with that.
Other Thoughts: Overall great board, fix the hole issue and it would be pretty much perfect in my book.

Works!
Pros: Turned on first try. Heat pipe keeps things cool. and looks cool. Lots of toys to tweak in the bios! Not a nvidia chipset!
Cons: Southbridge heatsink springloaded and not very snug. May want to reinforce.

First Build
Pros: High quality heavy duty board electrical plug-in's laid out well support for crossfire ATI cards very user friendly bios good labeling and colors on board help to easily id correct plug-in's
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: This is my first build, it all went together easily in a evening with the help of this boards excellent instruction book. I highly recommend this board for anyone thinking of building there first PC, Just make sure to order the correct ram etc by checking the specifications tab. My budget build was about $600. Highly Impressed
Pros: Very nice board. I was a little hesitant to go away from ASUS and MSI for this build, but it was the only 790x chipset that had the feature set that I needed and that would support the AMD Phenom X4 II 940 Socket AM2+ that I had previously purchased. I'm blown away with how everything just works. I installed Windows 7 64bit edition with ZERO problems. I've built around 50 machines in the past 2 years and was pleasantly surprised by how nicely the board was laid out, the abundance of USB interfaces. A nice surprise was the abundance of flat mounted SATA 3GB connectors. This is a very simple but great innovation which makes it easy to hide the flat sata cables behind the drive cage and have a clean build. Aesthetically speaking, the board simply looks sweet!...the Pictures don't do it justice. I highly recommend it and will be more inclined to consider Gigabyte for future builds.
Cons: The BIOS is plain vanilla, but it does everything you need it to do.
Other Thoughts: Snag this one up...you won't be sorry

ran good but shorted out in a month
Pros: i had it installed and it worked very well till it shorted out.
Cons: very high on shorting out on the first month of ownership. tryed to rma the nobo and tryed to get anouther they didnt do any thing. this is a third month waiting a month to hear any thing frome them tryed to call or get an anser from gigabyte got a cold sholder this is a third month of nothing wth. i thsught all companys products that were sold here were profecinal. i geuss gigabyte is not that type to help there custimers. new egg should stop caring them for that reason they are giving newegg a bad name and rep
Other Thoughts: should have gone with a msi board or a asus two boardes i have used in the past and still reliable got them from newegg and never had a problem with the mobo i got here in the past till now. newegg get rid of them there going to hurt the good rep that you have

Crazy cool!
Pros: Excellent build quality; booted right up with no pre-config required; well arranged; plenty of expansion space; easily overclocked AMD X3 720 to 3.6 GHz (more possible) and unlocked 4th core (via ACC) effortlessly.
Cons: Not free

Excellent Motherboard
Pros: Heat pipes and heatsinks give this motherboard a quality look and feel. The motherboard is heavier that most as a result of the added copper. There are considerable amount of options ranging from the novice to the gamer to the overclocker - Giga-byte covers this very well with this board. The onboard sound is of very good quality. Dual raid with different chipsets (Graid and Amd) along with multiple choices of configurations. This board is very well layed out.
Cons: One problem that I had when installing the operating system in raid 0 on either chipset, I had to disconnect my sata hard drives (that were not part of the raid array) before I could install my operating system. I tried different drivers as well as operating systems - XP64, Vista 64, Win 7, and Fedora 11 - none would install. Once I disconnected the hard drives that were not part of the raid array, I could install any operating system. I did reconnect the other drives after the OS install and they worked perfectly. This is the only issue that I have found with this motherboard.
Other Thoughts: I have been using Giga-byte motherboards for years now and haven't had any motherboard related failures. The only problems that I have had is from my own ignorance or greedy performance tweaking. I decided to go with a Giga-Byte HD5770 Ati video card to see if the quality matches their motherboards.

Network Card dies 4 months later
Pros: no opinion, everything except the NIC seems fine
Cons: The onboard Realtek network interface died.
Other Thoughts: Network interfaces/cards can be so precarious, why do they build them into the motherboard?

Great Mobo
Pros: Sturdy cheap Mobo. lots of options, handles a lot of different CPUs, good quality
Cons: 1 month, none so far. Seems like a great, well made Mobo.
Other Thoughts: Running with a Phenom X4 2.3ghz, 4G DDR2 1066, XFX HD4850

Pretty Good Board
Pros: Stable, Easy Bios configuration, good component layout.
Cons: Picky with memory, make sure you use memory on the compatibility list
Other Thoughts: I use several sets of memory testing it with Dual Channel. I found that using the same model of memory sticks with different version numbers will not post in dual channel.

Awesome
Pros: Very fast, easy to install, awesome BIOS, Gigabyte efficiency and quality.
Cons: Never really liked the Gigabyte Color schemes. Oh well lol.
Other Thoughts: USB and SATA transfers drastically improved from the 690G I had installed before. The USB controller actually works on this chipset! The BIOS is chock full of features, which I love, including the dual-bios which I also love, just in case a BIOS update goes south.

I'm lovin' it!
Pros: Loaded with features, sweet spot pricing (compared to INTC), good construction and pretty! 3 & 4 pin system fans near lower front corner lends to neat cabling for front intake fans (details, details...)
Cons: One concern is that mounting screw (to stanoffs) holes may be non standard for front most row. Antec case did NOT have holes. Caused the front edge of board, from 24 pin power thru 6 x orange SATAs, to be unsupported. When seating 24pin power, board flexed, but it's beefy construction prevented problems. Should not be an issue now that build is complete.
Other Thoughts: I still question the placement of the HD audio connector. I know it's near the rear panel for bridging ease, but most case cables come from front, thus requiring effort to neatly run from from of case to rear of board, w/out hanging up on dual video (and other) cards.
Lastly, to all who claim dead boards, I question what else may be happening, as I have built many systems based on this board without a single (knocks on wood) issue. These systems have come together flawlessly every time, but I'm not pushing OC function / limits.
Just an observation...

Great board ruined by flaws
Pros: Plenty of SATA and USB ports. Supports Firewire and SPDIF (coax and optical) without a PCI slot bracket. Long PCIe cards don't block the SATA ports. Northbridge and southbridge stay reasonably cool. Able to unlock 3rd/4th core of Phenom processors. Detects EPP memory SPD profiles. Supports RAID 0/1/5 for boot drives. Can install extra tall DRAM modules in DIMM sockets 3 and 4. Handles my Zalman CPS9700 CPU cooler without making the ATX+8 power connector difficult to reach.
Cons: Gigabyte technical support is atrocious. I've dealt with tech support from all the major brands, and these guys are the worst I've encountered. Five days for a response in broken English, and I can't tell if the guy was asking a question or making a statement.
AMD RAID BIOS is broken, won't support 3+ drive stripes. System often fails to resume properly from S3 suspend mode, either booting cold or giving a BIOS corrupt error.
The Realtek chipset will only open the SPDIF output when a sound is being played. This will cause a pop or click when the output ceases, like after every system beep or chime.
When unlocking cores, it is all or nothing. Fine if you have an X3, but if you have an X2, one bad core can ruin the deal.
In the manual DRAM speed menu of the BIOS, they don't include the abbreviations for items like tRCD, tRP, tRAS, tRC or the like. The long names don't always match up with other documentation, so manually setting can be risky.
The color scheme is horr
Other Thoughts: I bought this board because I wanted a Phenom II X2, but my last motherboard maker didn't support AM2+ or AM3 chips in their AM2 boards. Gigabyte appeared to do a better job of giving their older AMD boards updated CPU support.

Great board!
Pros: Awesome board. It feels quite sturdy, and has some good weight to it. I am not all hip on the North/South bridge tech these days, but everything looked good. Board worked perfectly out of the box with no issues. Was looking to replace an old Gigabyte M61P, as I suspected its PCI-E 1.0a slot was causing my new (to me :P) 9800GTX+ to not work.
Cons: Missed the 3 farthest stand-offs in my COOLER MASTER HAF932, but not a big deal.
Other Thoughts: I would highly reccomend. Anyone who got a board DOA has bad luck (obviously). I've had nothing but good luck from Gigabyte, and would get them over most other manufacturers.
Computer (work in progress :P): GA-MA790X AMD Phenom II X3 720 G.Skill DDR2 800 (2gb) BFG 9800GTX+ OC Sunbeam 750w PSU COOLER MASTER HAF932

Great Motherboard!
Pros: This is a great motherboard, fit perfectly inside my Antec Skeleton! Installed and booted up, it installed the drivers flawlessly, the audio drivers are pretty good and the sound is great, no breakups. The bios was easy to navigate through and the manual was in depth. I had no problem changing my timings for my gskill ram to 5 5 5 15.
Cons: None as of yet.
Other Thoughts: None.

Nice board
Pros: Board has nice colors and installs easily, directions are really good if your a noob. Installed a large video card (9 1/2 inches long) and had no problems with the sata connectors like some others have written.
Cons: Bios setup is ok but not the best I have used. If you have 5.1 surround sound you may have a problem getting the rear speakers to work. to fix this you need to switch the rear speakers from the rear output to the side output.
Other Thoughts: All in all this is a great board with the exception of the sound not working properly at first it was my easiest build. I used this board Amd phenom 2 triple core am3 processor, ATI gigabyte 4890 video card, 4x2gb G-skill ddr 2 memory and 2 western digiatal 160 gb hard drives running in Raid 0

well this sucks
Pros: looks nice, comes with alot of accesories
Cons: came with a capacitor not even on its leads on the motherboard, so dead, ive rma'd it and im going back to asus, where i never had this issue, seems a build quality problem that gigabyte needs to address.
Other Thoughts: if it hadnt been for the hardware problems this board would have been fine. gigabyte, work on your build quality will ya?

Good board
Pros: Well documented, installed easily, audio works well, booted first try. I like the bundled software with it that displays the CPU power usage. The northbridge cooling is well thought out, as it uses the waste air from the CPU for cooling
Cons: For some reason, a couple of the mounting holes did not line up with the mounting panel of the Cooler Master Centurion 5 CAC. Could be the case's fault, too.
Other Thoughts: Has lots of room for expansion, looks nice through the window, if that counts for anything.

BEST AM3, DDR2 Board!
Pros: A real solid dual BIOS board. Has many features. Runs great with the x4 955 BE. Well laid out board. It has floppy disks. It comes with an external SATA bracket that is so cool, i don't have to open my system to use an added internal HDD. With it's cooling pipes, it's made to OC . A well presented blue board which is so pleasing to the eyes. Thumbs up for Gigabyte. Thanks Newegg!
Cons: No much problems. Wanted the DDR3 board, but was press for cash. Not dual LAN but that's okay. No wireless.
Other Thoughts: My first gigabyte board and the first with NO problems starting up due to compatibility issues. Works great with my first Quad Core. It's huge jump from am2 5600+ dual core. I see much improvements with FSX being a great fan. FPS probably could have been better with a faster HDD. It took the systems ratings down to 5.5 on Windows 7. Although not a DDR3 board the difference seen with DD2 should be marginal

Best motherboard ever?
Pros: It's a solid board with connectors for just about everything you could possibly try to connect to a PC! I have 2 hdd's in RAID-0 on the AMD SB750 southbridge and that's working out very well. I use RAIDXpert software from AMD which is nice. I also use the included Gigabyte dual e-SATA bracket connected to the Gigabyte SATA chip (actually it's a Jmicron JMB36x). I have the Phenom II x4 3Ghz 945 chip and it runs fast and very cool as well.
I got this board because I had 4gigs of DDR2 that I didn't want to go to waste.
Cons: RAID-0 only allows 64k and 128k stripe size. Maybe the Gigabyte/Jmicron has smaller sizes, I didn't check.
Mounting holes just barely too short to reach 3rd row of standoffs.
SATA ports point to the side, which is great if you never switch cables, but if you do, this could be a pain.
I still give this board 5 stars.
Other Thoughts: This motherboard feels very strong and dense. Is it the extra copper? I don't know, but it feels stronger than my previous boards. I've been a BIOSTAR fan for years, and have had several boards which only 1 failed. I think I'm switching to Gigabyte now. I've always known they were high end. I wish I switched sooner because this board really is sweet.
It also came with 2 e-sata cables, though for some reason they are E-SATA on one end and SATA on the other.

GIGABYTE GA-MA790X-UD4P
Pros: AWESOME board!! great layout. 3 onboard fan connections. 8 onboard SATAII connections. 8 rear panel USB 2.0. No onboard graphics(could be a con if that what you want) And the price and quality are just unsurpassed. THE FIRST OPTION IN THE BIOS IS FOR OVERCLOCKING.... need i say more
Cons: none as of this point. if any do arise then i will post another review.. but as of yet...none. boots up faster that my Asus M2N-SLI
Other Thoughts: to sum things up....Great for overclocking, TONS of USB and SATA connections and at $109 with these options and quality....you just cant beat it. There is ALWAYS something bigger and better...but to what point do you need to draw the line of price vs performance

Solid board, nice features, usb speed falls short.
Pros: Solid speed, number of usb ports, good cooling. Lots of options
Cons: - Although this system has many usb ports, they run at pretty slow speeds. I ran a usb install of Win7 and it took just as long as running it via dvd. I did the very same install in an intel and the intall was finished in 10min! - The 2nd pcie slot turns down to x4 instead of running at least at x8 when a video card is present in the 1st pcie slot. I have a SAS controller that runs at x8 and installed it in the 2nd slot but cant get the full bandwidth.
Other Thoughts: Its an overall solid board. The slow usb is what kept it from 5 stars.

Pros: Perfect!! Great for overclocking.Lots of USB's.Great layout. Good voltage settings. Great support.Unlocks to Quad.Stable.
Cons: I can not come up with any.
Other Thoughts: I have used 2 of these and plan on getting more. Can't beat the CPU choices.I have not had a single issue. Runs 1066 Mushkin,EVGA 285,AMD tripple core overclocked to 3.6 just fine. Best board I have used in years!!

Great board
Pros: Where do I begin? Affordable, stable, feels solid and well-made. I plugged everything in and it fired right up, no problems whatsoever. It's been 6 months since I put it together, running like a champ. BIOS is easy to understand, though I haven't overclocked yet, so I can't comment on that. It's compatible with seemingly every AMD chip on the market, which makes it extremely versatile. Passive cooling is another plus. If you've never had to replace a northbridge fan, you won't have an appreciation for passive cooling, but trust me...it's great.
Cons: No support for DDR3, which from all the benchmarks I've seen, does make a noticeable difference in gaming performance when paired with an AM3 CPU. Does support DDR2 1333, though. Crossfire is x16/x8, not the end of the world. I'm only running a single card anyway, so doesn't affect me.
Other Thoughts: I blew my wad too soon and bought a first gen Phenom 9600 quad-core. Stupid. I'm not taking full advantage of what this board has to offer, will soon be rectifying the problem with a Phenom II. Gaming performance is extremely limited for me based on my poor choice of CPU, but pair this with the appropriate Phenom II, and you'll be just fine. Unless you must have DDR3 support, I recommend you buy this board.

Good Board for the price (and maybe period)
Pros: LOTS of expansion; 8-sata, gobs of USB ports. PCI slots, PCI-e, everything you need. Nice layout. Price was just far enough outside budget to go ahead and splurge. NO ONBOARD VIDEO!!!
Cons: as another reviewer said, some mounting holes aren't on any PC case I have worked on. would be nice to add a little support (in the front of the mobo, where the power connection/ram slots are). pins for HD/pwr leds and reset/power buttons could be more clearly labeled. to resolve this, I usually print off the pinouts, and tape them to the side panel of the case.
Other Thoughts: great bang for the buck. Kinda wish I had could have gotten the ddr-3 version of this board (GA-MA790XT-UD4P).

very nice
Pros: install was pretty painless... even has some mounting holes for an aftermarket bridge proc. cooler
everything works right off the bat (even the drivers on the CD)
i like the porting layout alot... (no1 uses a floppy anymore so i could care less where they burried that)
all the tower pin ports seem to work great right out of the box unlike my last biostar
slick looking heatsink panels
came with more then enough SATA cables
been wanting a gigabyte board for years, but pulled the trigger on some other manufacturers instead... hopefully i made the right move this time (Gigabyte seems like a hot choice so researching was a breeze with all the feedback avaliable)
BIOS is really easy to read & navagate... not sure how deep ill be diggin into it, but once i get a quad core phenom it should get more use
Cons: have it had it long enough to try everything out (BIOS)... but thats not really a con
Other Thoughts: hoping it lasts for years... i certainly dont plan on abusing it

Primo
Pros: Solid capacitors. Easy to overclock and unlock cores with black edition CPUs. Virtualization in 64 bit Windows 7 XP Mode is flawless. No fans that fail. Does exactly what it states in the specs.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: I noticed that someone complained about the location of the flopply cable connection and that an 18” cable is needed. I have three Raptors in my box. I installed XP on one, Vista another and Windows 7 on the third with this MB and none needed a driver installed. For those 5 ¼” floppy owners, a 24” cable is needed to connect to one of those in my case. That 24” cable should be found in the spare parts box from the 80’s. If you don’t have the spare parts box from your 8088, I suggest you try a flash drive.

Awesome Board!
Pros: Great features on the board with lots of room for add-ons and luxury items. The GIGAGBYTE setup, bios and software makes it very easy to configure, even if this is your first build. Excellent documentation and support available online as well. I highly recommend it!
Cons: not a thing I can think of.

Good Motherboard
Pros: Lots of features in the Bios. AM3/Am2+ board. Layout is good. Lots of usb ports. The gigabit lan is working nicely.
Cons: You need a 18 inch floppy drive cable. As thefloppy cable is all the way on the other side of the board. If you have a computer already use it to install the sata drives onto two different floppy disks. The drivers are on a cd disk not on a floppy disk. Useless unless you have a computer already or a friends house you can run to.
Other Thoughts: Phenom II 955 works great and was recongnized right away. My other Nividia board 680i did not recognize my 1066 ram no matter what I did. I just set it manually to speed in the bios and to the voltage on the package and it worked like a charm. No need for DDR3.

Solid Mother board
Pros: Solid mobo. Easy to overclock, and using EasyTune 6 even tweak some settings while in the OS and see results in real time. Good cooling around board, nice not to have active fans making noise.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: I came from a DFI Lanparty and really loved the saved settings in the bios where you can save a couple of different bios settings to switch between. This one you change it, that's it. Not bad, just could have been the icing on the cake.

BUY IT
Pros: I could go on and on about his board but ill just say what it doesnt say in the specs. This board is a dream for overclocking. The drivers work well with vista. Gigabyte has a great easy way of updating the bios right from the operating system. Ive also heard this can unlock the phenom ii x2 and x3's to be x4's
Cons: FSB is 2000mhz instead of 2400, but not a big deal to me.
Other Thoughts: BUY THIS BOARD! you wont find a better one for the money

Awesome.
Pros: heavy, feels durable, lots of USB ports, easy to work on, can unlock cpus
Cons: it wasn't free
Other Thoughts: I have a 92mm cpu fan, with the heatsink its ALMOST to big to use with the closest RAM slot. not a con, but watch your fan size, or how many RAM cards you put in, your choice.

Very unstable board
Pros: Seemed like a good board and a good buy. Lookes like all I needed with the 790x and SB750 chipsets. Features suggested it was a good buy and so did many of the reviews.
Cons: DDR2 1066 is seen in bios (all versions of bios). as DDR2 800. Yet on other AMD boards it is seen at DDR2 1066. Can't manually change the clock speed, as all that comes up is the "BSOD" screens. Also could not use raid even after buying a floppy and pre-installing the drivers. Running with DDR2 800 setting and everything stock, since I can't make any changes with overclocking, due to stability. All these components were on a Biostar AMD 785 board and they worked flawlessly. They don't work with this board. I believe it's the chipset, but it may just be the way the board is built.
Other Thoughts: I built this board around a Callisto 545 two core processor, 2 gig of G.Skill DDR2 1066 memory (approved on Gigabyte list), a 320gig SATAII HDD and an EVGA 9600GT card. Even with the bios selecting the memory at DDR2 800, I had to up the voltage to 2.0V from the 1.8V that the bios set. (G.Skill calls for 2.0-2.1V). It's still very buggy and crashes a lot. I'm going to have to send it back and try something else....... I'm really tired of buying Chinese products.

Pros: Nice color.
Cons: The speed of this board was not up to par for my applications. I replaced it with the ASUS P6T.
