long time fan of asus
Pros: I bought this motherboad from another company and I used it for my mom new pc that I built. Its a great board with problems. I like the fact that it is an 775 processor and it does work I was able to pop that in and wham it works. I just finally put vista 32 on it with 2 gigs of ram and its faster then xp!!
Cons: The ethernet and sound card sucks. I disabled both of them and put in pci cards and they work much better and faster. I have an IDE hard drive that is making noise on it so I know its time get another one. It does not like xp for some stupid reason. I loaded Vista on it and its fine.
Other Thoughts: This board actually runs Vista 32 with no problems it read all of the drivers on it. I have to upgrade my video card and sound card but other then thats its nice. It will probally fly once I put a sata drive on it:) I would probally get another asus board since I only use Asus anyway

Defective Motherboard
Pros: Micro-ATX, Quad-core compatible.
Cons: Terrible. ASUS has literally gone down hill. I received this system board and tried three different CPU's and three different types of RAM. The motherboard will not post. This is the LAST time I purchase ASUS.
Other Thoughts: The RMA process is a joke. I purchased an Open Item and, since it does not work, I STILL have to pay a restocking fee and return shipping. I love NewEgg but I am disappointed with their policy towards opened items.

2 Beeps
Pros: No comment
Cons: Wouldn't pass post. Just 2 beeps. Tried various combinations of RAM modules, all off the ASUS recommended list (OVL). CPU was on the supported list as well.
Other Thoughts: I see this problem listed by a few reviewers. The anti-static bag was open when I got it. I don't deal with ASUS much but I've found most manufacturers put tape on the bag to seal it and to prove whether its been opened.

Asus Service
Pros: Asus is known for quality. This product despite the fact it is made in China seems to work fine.
Cons: While the web site states that "This motherboard supports the latest Intel® Core™2 processors in LGA775 package." this is not true. After calling tech support to find out how to support the latest E7200 Core 2 Duo Processor everyone at the company stated that this processor is not supported. I asked them to ship me a board that would work as I used their site to influence my buying decision. Asus reps all stated that they do not stand behind their site and I should have dug very deep to find the cpu compatibility chart. I am sorry I believe when a company makes a statement like this, there is no reason to dig deeper.
Other Thoughts: I will make sure if I ever buy an Asus product again I am 150% certain that it will work before trying out anything new. The first time I called tech support in 10 years of buying their products has taught me an important lesson.

Pros: Great motherboard on the small side but overall very good
Cons: Seems as if the internet is running slow, not a problem of Newegg though, I am sure this is just a minor issue.

Great budget + expansion board
Pros: Good price, expandable
Cons: none for me
Other Thoughts: These are great boards for expansion later on. All the feature's needed to build a solid machine.

Mostly issues on startup
Pros: The ethernet port works great, especially for LAN gaming. Overall, it's a decent product.
Cons: The USB ports don't seem to boot up with the rest of the MB. At least, for some peripherals. It only recognizes my keyboard about half of the time, until I log into Windows.
Sometimes I get a "USB Device Over Current Status Detected!!" message and the system shuts off after a few seconds, even when I didn't have any USB devices plugged in. It seemed to go away after a couple of hours though.
If you connect a graphics card to it, expect to lose one of your PCI slots since it will get in the way. There's only 2 other slots and an Express x1, so you'll only get one other PCI device (I'm using a network card) and something for that x1.
Other Thoughts: It takes a while to warm up, so it's better for people who prefer to leave their computer on all the time (on low power use for the energy people), rather than those who prefer to turn it off every night.

Sensitive
Pros: Not many pro's small and nice foot print as stated...
Cons: First this mobo runs hot and searched info on this puppy at asus website . they said their pc-probe program value limit set at5 40c ... and this mobo runs at bout 54c+- ... so the spec guy at asus said set the pc probe prgram to 60c.. and you'll be fine... /cough! ... anyways some words the mobo hea sensor bit misplaced. umm... but anyway it died on me after 3 days
Other Thoughts: I used to love asus... but this one really zapped my ego. It's possible I got a bad one... but really things not right over-all. Bought this to run a 800fbs cpu and box on it said 1066fbs mobo... so maybe that is where problem came in but specs showed it culd handle 800fbs... and i did have proper memory 667 standard... oh yeh one more thing... the asus mobo book states must have power supply over 400watts and of the 2.0 standard... so - be careful if you buy this product

Good Motherboard
Pros: - Low cost. Has all the features I wanted on a higher end MB. I put an Intel Core 2 Duo 2.2GHz processor on this and it works great. - Realtek onboard sound is really good! I was surprised at the quality. I didn't get a sound card for this.
Cons: - Not really a con, this is a micro ATX MB. Be aware that it's smaller. It only has one PCIe video slot and 2 PCI slots. The slots are really close together. The video card I bought has a big heat sink which covers up one of the PCI slots. Fortunately, I only needed to add one wireless NIC, so I was OK. But if you need both, choose your video card carefully so it fits.
Other Thoughts: This MB has a FSB of 800MHz, but the memory is 667. I double checked to make sure I got the right RAM for this.

Stay away from this board if you have a choice
Pros: Nice small footprint and on-board hardware.
Cons: This board would not post. Swapped CPU, Memory, Power Supply and the motherboard twice. It seems from other reviewers this issue is not an isolated event. I returned for refund. I recommend staying away. There are alternatives out there.

Pros: Nice clean Motherboard works well once I flashed the BIOS.
Cons: Had to Flash BIO to update the CPU List so I would stop getting an error

@ JSKI250...LEARN TO READ SPECS!!!
Pros: It works as spec'd by the manufacturer!
Cons: People who can't read the specs right!
Other Thoughts: Newegg got the specs wrong, and so did a previous reviewer, JSKI250, who thought it would support 1333mhz bus CPUs, which it doesn't...no wonder it wouldn't boot! D'OH!
This board supports virtually all 533mhz and 1066mhz bus CPU...but not 1333mhz bus CPUs!

Pros: There probably was some pros, just couldn't get to them.
Cons: I went through 2 Core 2 6550s, 2 different types of Memory (800 and 1066) and 2 P5b-MX boards...Never booted. Never even got to bios. Bought the newer P5KPL-VM, Processor and both types of memory worked. Guess I had incompatable memory?? URRRG!
Other Thoughts: Newegg is Awsome, just wish I could send the board back...been over 30 days. I can still send for replacement...Maybe I just got 2 dead boards?

Good Replacement
Pros: Worked right out of the box. I was pleasently surprised at how easy it was to make changes in the setup - almost all defaults. With the 4 Gig memomory (part of the package deal), my applicatons open much faster.
Cons: It does have a slight complaint about about an Intel CPU uCode loading error, but F1 steps right through. Probably needs a bios upgrade.
Other Thoughts: Diagrams were very clear and informative.

Pretty good, for the money
Pros: Mounts up quick and easy. Nascent video pretty good,(for an Intel) lots of SATAs ,and a 1 PATA a floppy connector too, tho I don't know why.
Cons: Connector positioning could be better but the cables fixed that. Video is meh. The Motherboard box wasn't in the best condition, it had been dropped on one corner causing concern. Nothing was sealed, not the box, or the board bag, leaving me to wonder if I got an open box by mistake. It could just be ASUS's deal tho.
Other Thoughts: The media box build went quick, and it works very good. The board is ideal for this, add a good video card and you're smoking. The board is as limitless as any ATX boards out there and the price was good.

Excellent Product
Pros: Excellent choice for a home office or casual gaming computer.
Cons: No cons.
Other Thoughts: Onboard video is sufficient for home office use; add a PCI express video card if you want to play games.

Nice but...
Pros: Stable, decent sound, price, great for a budget gaming PC under $500(See spec's below). If it wasnt for the minor yet annoying cons it would easily be a 5.
Cons: Won’t recognize my USB keyboard at boot have to wait till Windows loads, Can’t install Vista, I get a boot up error after installing Vista on my third partition.(XP, XP, Vista).
Other Thoughts: Case: COOLER MASTER Centurion 541 RC-541 Mobo: duh! CPU: P4 630 Prescott 3.0Ghz CPU Fan: ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro 92mm CPU Cooler Memory: 4Gb Kingston PC2 5300 Video Card: ASUS GeForce 8500GT 256MB

Nice
Pros: Works right out of the box. Along with a dual core 2.4 and 2gb of memory on XP Pro, it runs stable and very quick.
Cons: N/A
Other Thoughts: A great board for building an inexpensive workstation. Has all of the functions and features needed to do just about anything

Core-2-Quad Ready!
Pros: Well made and stable board from a reliable supplier. i946GZ chipset has decent onboard video for non-gamers. The current shipping bios works with Q6600 CPUs. NO OVERCLOCKING NEEDED FOR 1066 MHZ BUS CPUS!!! (Newegg's specs are wrong in that regard)
Cons: No Firewire, but its a budget board without extra bells & whistles.
Other Thoughts: I currently have two of these boards running Q6600 CPUs, one is a B3 stepping and the other is a G0. I used the included Asus Update to flash the bios from within Windows without any problems. These boards will work with ANY of the newest 1066 mhz bus CPUs without any overclocking required. Just drop in the CPU and off it goes.
So far both have been rock-solid as Folding@Home workstations running 24/7 at 100% CPU usage.

2160 does work
Pros: Works well so far in a small business environment - no heavy graphics use. I'm using the E2160 processor in it with no problem, running cool and fast.
Cons: No cons so far
Other Thoughts: mostly responding to the review claiming it does not work with the 2160 processor - it certainly does work. I put it on an ASUS P5B-MX LGA 775 Intel 946GZ motherboard using WINTEC AMPO 1GB (2 x 512MB) DDR2 800 RAM. All parts from Newegg.

Worked beautifully w/E2160
Pros: about 2/3 the size of the mATX board it replaced, plenty of SATA and USB connections
Cons: no DVI output
Other Thoughts: I'm using a pretty small case so I'm running at stock speed but the overclocking controls seemed pretty straightforward. Great board for the price

Not too good
Pros: Works with a P4 just fine.
Cons: Does not boot with an E2160 CPU. Does not boot with an E6300 CPU. Works fine with a Pentium D processor.
Other Thoughts: BIOS flashed to current 0301. Refuses to run either dual core CPU's I own. They both work fine on other boards. What good is that?
