Worth every penny.
Pros: Bought it to replace my cheap foxconn motherboard, and couldn't be happier.
Cons: Could use a few more USB ports.
Other Thoughts: 6 SATA ports makes this board ideal for anybody with multiple optical/hard drives.

Good stable board
Pros: I have 5 of these boards in computers at work. All drivers including the network card works great with Windows Vista and 7. Having so many feature packed on to such a small board is awesome.
Cons: None.

BAD after a year
Pros: Worked Okay for the first year. Had some trouble but nothing too major.
Cons: Okay, this is an issue i really hate. Bought 1/30/08. ISSUE #1, computer hanging. It turns out this mobo is picky about PSU's. After buying a Roswell PSU, it turned out to be incompatible. Bought a Corsair PSU and it solved the problem. ASUS PLEASE LIST COMPATIBILITY ISSUES WITH PSU's. It took them 3 months to finally tell me that the PSU was causing the problem(probably made them compatible with an updated BIOS, I don't know nor do I care). ISSUE #2: 1 and a half years of barely any use since this is my father's computer, it will not POST, no video(onboard or pci-e), no audio(onboard), fans keep spinning. CPU is fine, PCI-e videocard is fine, PSU is fine, HDD is fine. Problem is the Motherboard. Issue #3, at the time i bought it, it costed me 115 dollars for a problematic motherboard that ASUS tech support told me it was my drivers/parts fault, which said were incompatible. HOWEVER, they never mentioned any hardware incompatibilities!
Other Thoughts: I'm sick and tired. I had an asus Mobo that lasted me 6yrs with good old P4HT through my high school and first years of college. In 2008, i bought this mobo and decided to make a nice gift for my dad's 65th birthday and what do you know? I shouldve listened to the overwhelming bad reviews as to NOT get this mobo but i trusted ASUS. Now that it's out of warranty, i just have a $115 brick sitting in my father's computer room. THANKS ALOT ASUS! Tech specs: ASUS P5E-VM DO Intel C2D 2.66Ghz Patriot PC2-6400 2GB WD 500 HDD

Asus China Operation
Pros: Asus is supposed to be a top of the line producer of motherboards. After this experience, there is doubt about their China operation and quality control.
Cons: I first received this motherboard late last year. It has been sent back to Asus three times for basically the same faults. Under Windows XP, the board will not shut itself down. The on-board LAN has been defective. On all instances they stated board fully tested and returned. We still have the same problems and faults.
Other Thoughts: I believe a change may be made.... soon?
Manufacturer Response:Dear Valued Customer, We apologize for this inconvenience. Please double check the device manager and make sure all drivers are installed. We recommend doing a clean install of windows and reinstalling the motherboard drivers to see if your issues are resolved. Problems
Pros: This item is a "Corporate Stable Model (CSM) for long-term availability" which is the reason I purchased it.
Cons: I purchased 3 of these and 1 was DOA, 1 has dead HDD controller, and the other seems to be working. I don't trust a motherboard if 2 out of 3 are defective.
Manufacturer Response:Dear Valued Customer, We are sorry for this inconvenience. Good,Did What I Wanted
Pros: Prompt delivery.Installation went well, no surprises. BIOS functioning. This is a replacement for a Gateway Schroeder Town MOBO of great expecations but poor results. I don't overclock or do anything extrordinary. This seems to be a good solid board and I'm glad for the warranty and hope it lasts. These comments were a great help in deciding on a board, I recommend this board for anyone thinking about it.
Cons: There was a concern over the CPU heatsink but it was more of a Gateway issue. I had to reuse the bracket mount.

Pros: GREAT BOARD, WITH RIGHT EQUIPMENT, FAST FOR IT'S PRICE.
Cons: FRONT USB DON'T WORK. REPLACED BOARD, SAME PROBLEM. TECH DEPT SAYS REPLACE USB CONNECTORS, WORKED BEFORE I REPLACED BOARD. BOUGHT AN EXTERNAL USB, PLUG IN BACK, OK @ THIS POINT. STILL LIKE THE BOARD.
Other Thoughts: CONSIDER THIS PROBLEM IF YOU PURCHASE THIS BOARD.

p5e-VM HDMI
Pros: Works like a charm. very solid feel W/R both soft & hadware. A fast and painless build! the Intel 10/100/1000 lan seems like a valuable upgrade, even tho I don't really know what my ISP offers for speed. It's nice to have a MOBO graphics unit where the cable just clicks in there! Did I say I hate VGA?? I got this Q35 because it would run my Cedar Mill 631 as well as having an upgrade path to 45 nM wolfdales. Also no $$ for vid cards. Hooray Asus! Good space around Proc. for heatsinks-- think 110 by 110 mm. square footprint. You MUST have a good heatsink! You cannot have a heatpipe setup that needs go over the northbridge, tho. There is a good selection of two-bank-pipe sinks available-- I used the all copper BTF 90. S'very cool. VERY useful to have 4 memory slots. Some mem is fussier about voltage and the like if it's a 2 Gig stick-- 1 gig sticks run pretty well, as well as, in Mushkin, costing less.
Cons: 1 PCI slot? How do i use my rosewill wireless card? There is ample Pcie howevr, and without a pcie-16 video card, you can actually get at them. Tuner cards everywhere?
Other Thoughts: Have not deciphered the OC abilities yet. The 631 single core was rather hot (89W) anyway. 631's have been overclocked to 30 gig BTW--not for me (!) I shoud be able to run the Mushkin Ram at 1000 to 1050 with ease, tho. Most of this setup is good and silent. With a few Silen-x fans thrown around I should be able to get to around 10-15 dB, total! That's good for a bargain basement build.

Best mATX mobo I've ever owned.
Pros: TPM TPM TPM! It's so hard to find a motherboard with a TPM, but this has it! Also it supports VPRO, so I should be able to remote reboot it if it freezes when I'm away and trying to remote desktop in. I just need to figure out how to set it up.
Cons: Lack of DVI-OUT, minimal volt control on RAM.
Other Thoughts: I bought some rated at 1333 but it wouldn't run at the speed, could be the ram but since I can't set the volts I blame the mobo... I own two of these, and will probably buy a few more! Bitlocker needs a TPM to run correctly and if your dealing with people who know how to operate a password reset disc then this is the only way to protect the machine, without a hired guard.

Problems at ASUS
Pros: This board should do everything a person would want in an "internet browsing" system... if it worked.
Cons: This board had nothing but problems: The ATA support has serious issues. Loading XP-sp 2.0 was a nightmare. I finally had to hook up a SATA CDROM just to get the operating system loaded... this just isn't right! After it was running (after a fashion) there was no end of trouble loading drivers. The CD provided was completely useless... everything had to be downloaded. And all this grief was encountered with a pretty basic system (E5200 processor and Kingston ValueRAM). And don't get me started about Mordac and the rest of the deniers at ASUS support(?). I took the board back to the retailer and got most of my money back (no, it wasn't Newegg... big mistake there).
Other Thoughts: Save yourself a rash of money and headaches... buy an Intel board from Newegg. For a faily basic board, this product should have far fewer headaches than it does. Judging by the other feedback, it seems that ASUS may be having a serious QC problem. I, for one, will never be their guinea pig again!

Unstable board
Pros: Great board layout Spacious for a microATX board Lots of connections, incl. firewire
Cons: BIOS issues mean that even when disabled the on-board sound is ID'd by OS IDE controller not fully inegrated, running slow for DVDRW
Other Thoughts: This mobo proved to be unstable when running Vista x64. The on-board sound was disabled yet still visible to Vista, which tried running it alongside the sound card I installed. This board has too many features geared toward business and disabling them all in BIOS is difficult. There are better values out there, just watch for board layout.

problems, then dead
Pros: it is a motherboard, never had issues in the past with asus boards (many of them)
Cons: i had problems with this board as soon as i got it. my computer would not shut down properly, linux was freezing on me. a bios update seemed to help, but still had a few minor issues. finally, after several problems i realized the board was bad.
Other Thoughts: i have owned at least 10 asus motherboards, NEVER had a problem. when buying this board, i was reading some comments on how asus has been having problems with their boards (read this more than once), but i decided to ignore it, since i have NEVER had problems. well, after this i think i will not be going back to asus. dealing with motherboard issues is quite frustrating. depending on the problems, it could be other devices... its just a real pain to get a board that has issues. sadly, this is the last asus board i will purchase...

Careful with this one
Pros: For Micro-ATX, this board has a lot of features, and it ASUS' passive cooling keeps it quiet.
Cons: I bought this board because of the RAID capability, but I had a hard time setting up the RAID. The board has 6 SATA ports but if you turn the SATA config to RAID it no longer recognizes CD/DVD devices plugged into the SATA ports because they are all associated with the RAID controller. Called tech support and they said you need to use a PATA device for CD/DVD if you plan to use RAID.
Other Thoughts: Solved this problem by buying a PCI-express SATA controller. Do that or buy a PATA DVD device if you plan to use this board.

Not an overclocker
Pros: Good feature set, stable, broad processor support (including 45nm), SATA RAID support, Intel VT-d support.
Cons: Cannot overclock at all.
Other Thoughts: As soon as I flip the BIOS settings over to "manual" the board develops boot-up problems. It appears that I have ZERO overclock capability as a result. It's fantastic otherwise. I have none of the power-off/on issues that others describe.

NOTHING BUT A DEAD BOARD
Pros: This board has all the bells and whistles. That is the only thing I can say about this board.
Cons: ISSUE: 1. Unable to shutdown. OS shutdown, but all device still running after 1 hour.
2. System takes too long to reboot. Estimate time is 25 minutes.
NOTE: I have tested and upgraded to the latest BIOS and the issue still remains. Please look at those other posting and see the similar issue.
Other Thoughts: Staying away from ASUS.

Pros: So far, its a great motherboard. There are more than enough SATA and USB for my needs, proved an easy install, and had clear instructions. NO BOOT PROBLEMS whatsoever. All cables were long enough (used SATA for the optical) and had no issues with anything (surprising since this is my first time building a compy)
Cons: Would have liked more PCI for further expansion but thats my fault for changing my mind after the purchase.
Other Thoughts: I used this motherboard for my first compy construction. I had no help and I didn't manage to mess anything up. Good stuff

Good for a lower end motherboard
Pros: This motherboard is pretty good for the price. I have had no problems with it.

options
Pros: For what I was looking for, I thought the features ont his board were perfect. Integrated graphics, SATA II, RAID, 1066 Dual Channel RAMs, PCI 16x. It offers a nice blend of high end features and low end sensibility. This board completely suited my needs without moving towards excess and still staying low budget.
Cons: The first board I used was glitchy. It has all of those boot-up problems I read about on the other reviews. It also didn't play 1066 ram, which I thought was weird because i tried using both Kingston and Corsair, the two brands supported on the QVL. But once I got the new board both problems were fixed.
Now, the only problem is the placement of the IDE channel. Most of my old IDE cables don't reach all the way up to the cd drives. , Otherwise I feel that everything is pretty sensibly placed.
Other Thoughts: I would probably give this board the full five if it wasn't for the trouble with the first board, But I am mostly glad it is working. Generally though, it seems there is a board out there that will suit everyone's needs. There is no real reason to settle for one board or another if it is not exactly what you want. ASUS alone has a wide enough range of products that you don't need to 'settle' or go over a reasonable budget. And there are sooo many other boards out there Abit, Gigabyte, MSI, ect. All you really need to do is put in the legwork and you should be able to easily find what you are looking for.

Pros: I bought this board for a multi media and gaming rig on a mATX size. I was in no way disapointed. The over clocking in the bios is easy to use and offers a lot of flexability. The layout also offers plenty of room for a full sized video card without blocking any ports. Asus's Q connectors make the instalation a lot faster for those of us who like to mod cases. And make our own pannels. This has been one of the easiest installs that I've done. Every thing booted up the first time. With out any problems. What was listed in the stats was what came in the box.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: The IDE bus is in an odd place. If a larger case is used a longer cable than the one that came with would be helpfull. I've had no problems with the power on this board (as others mayhave) when it is run with the stock settings. It will have a poroblem booting when overclocked too aggresively. It continues to reboot, because it's supposed to. If the settings aren't within reason it will try to reboot to keep from trashing the rest of the system. When this happens it is very easy to re-enter bios to make any corrections.

Installing the OS was an issue
Pros: Built this box for a friend who does model rocketry. Needed a COM port for some telemetry stuff and enough horsepower to make/edit video of launches. Seemed to fit the bill alng with the on board video. E7200, (2)500Gb in a SATA RAID 1, 4mg DDR2-800 and a SATA DVD burner.
Cons: Not really a CON per se. Loading the OS (XP Media Center) gives a BSOD just where it should be going to the EULA. Asus tech support tells me that if setting the board for RAID, you need to use an IDE optical drive to load the OS. Once the SATA channel is configured for RAID, because it's a single Intel controller chip, all the ports are expected to be RAID. Doesn't make sense, but using an IDE drive stopped the BSOD.
Other Thoughts: Who has floppies anymore? But, when using Makedisk to create the drivers for the F6 - install 3rd party drivers, use the 4th driver off the list, not the first one. The 1st will cause a "windows cannot find a hard disk drive' error. The other 2 are for Mobile patforms.

Works great with OpenSolaris, Nexenta, and Ubuntu Hardy
Pros: Using the P5E-VM DO for the guts of a RAID file server.
OpenSolaris 2008.5, Nexenta Core 1.0.1, and Ubuntu Hardy 8.04 all recognize the 6 ICH9 SATA ports in AHCI mode, the onboard JMicron PATA controller, and the onboard Intel gigabit ethernet. Haven't tested onboard video or audio since this will not be a desktop machine.
Cons: PATA port placement is odd and makes for painful cable routing in standard server cases.
The uATX form factor does not include supports sandwiching the SATA ports and the last PCIe slot, so there's a bit of flex during installation - be careful.

Decent Mobo
Pros: I never encountered the power/boot issues to which other reviewers are referring. The board, from a functionality standpoint, works fine. Running a 2.4GHz Core 2 Quad 6600 (Kentsfield) at stock settings with 4GB Kingston HyperX DDR2800, 2 500GB WD SATA drives in RAID 0, XFX GeForce 8800GT 512MB, and an LG 22X DVD±R DVD Burner. Powering it all is an Antec NeoPower 650.
Cons: I have two real weird issues that I cannot resolve. The first is that the motherboard likes to fluctuate the FSB multiplier from 6 to 9 seemingly haphazardly. I'm not sure if that's a quirk with the motherboard or the processor and I'm not really sure how to resolve it. I've never come across that kind of thing before. The other is that the memory wants to run at DDR2-667, not DDR2-800. I've searched all over the BIOS for something and am at a loss. I feel like these issues shouldn't exist, hence the drop from 5 to 4 stars.
Other Thoughts: Easy install, good motherboard with only slight performance quirks that I'm sure can be resolved with further tweaking of the BIOS. I'm wondering if those experiencing startup/boot issues have inadequate power supplies. I'm not running much (see above) and the 650W unit that I have is just about right for the setup. I could be totally out in left field on that, but I figured I'd mention it.

Works great
Pros: I bought this knowing it had boot problems (because of the fact that every reviewer mentioned it), but i did not experience any problems. I use it for my home server... so i am only booting once anyway. Bought cause it has onboard video and 6 sata ports.
Cons: none really
Other Thoughts: Using this for a Home server; 2.0ghz allendale dual core, 4gb ram, 750gb hdd space. When i first plug into powersupply, it powers up then shuts down shortly there after. But if i power on normally it works fine (could see how this could develop into a bad booting problem under the right circumstances)

Do Not Buy
Pros: None! Zip! Nada!
Cons: Power up problems, DOA's and zero customer service from Asus.
Other Thoughts: Ordered three of these to build systems for an important customer and the mobos have power up issues where they turn on and off on their own and now they're failing. The latest BIOS didn't fix the boot probs, they're dying after a week or two and replacements have been arriving DOA. It's definitely not NewEgg's fault as they've been great about replacing them quickly. We've been trying to take this up with Asus directly and can't get through to their customer service or US website at all.
I should also mention the reason why this board was ordered. The P5K-VM board was originally purchased but it turned out that this $100 mobo doesn't include RAID?! So we replaced them with this mobo losing money on the job due to restocking and return shipping for replacements as well as labor and shipping fixes to the customer. Our customer is growing impatient. Pick up your phone Asus!

Power/Bootup Flaws Render Board Unusable
Pros: Once it boots, it's a great board.
Cons: Getting the board to boot is difficult. Like others, I experience the power issue where the board powers itself on/off repeatedly, sometimes up to 20 or 30 times, before the system actually boots.
Once the system boots, intermittently the system freezes up on the initial splash screen, at which point I have to power it off again and let it do its on/off trick another 30 times, until the system boots normally.
It can take me up to 15 minutes of this to get the system to boot. I upgraded the BIOS to the newest version, and it did not help one bit, all the problems remain. It seems as if this problem is growing more severe with time, and I've only had the board a week. I get the feeling that after a while, this board will be incapable of booting at all.
This board is going back. This is a big disappointment to me, this is my first ASUS board, and quite possibly my last.

The weirdest one I've seen
Pros: It's relativelly good for all it's features...the PC is promising, better Q-Fan management.
Cons: Erm...first off...I shut down the PC with the power button, and then, the thing lights itself on again, then shuts down. I kill the power, and then put the power back on (Using the PSU) and it turns on by itself. If I press the reset button, it literally turns off and then back on. I'm very disappointed with ASUS's set of new boards, as they all did that. I remember the first generations of P5KC.
Like the P%KC, the IDE is still badly placed.
Other Thoughts: It's paired with an E8400, 8500GT, 2GB KVR-800, and I'm in the project of testing the voltages...in case if it's a volt issue, but I doubt it.
It's not the board I'm keeping...I'm grabbing the EVGA 123 750i board.

well
Pros: Well I used to love ASUS but realize they dont make the same product they used to. This board has some nice features like the ability to overclock the entire bus which comes in handy with chips that lock the multiplyer down. The raid works like a charm and is pretty versitale. The overclock protection was a great idea too! One of the only boards in a micro atx that supports this bus, quad mem slot, dual pci w/ raid.
Cons: My mother board does a wierd thing where it likes to power on and off 3 times before it powers up the first time I hook power too it. It does it some other times when I just hit the power button. I tried replacing powersupplys to no avail. Now I am in Africa and its too difficult to get a warranty swap. Also a lot of times on boot up the overclock fails and the overclock protection clicks in and I just reboot with a ctrl-alt-del and it comes up overclocked without issue, strange.
Other Thoughts: I think that if you get a board without gremlins its a pretty sweet board.

Pros: Set this up as a Budget Server for a small company using Win2003 Srv Standard. Simple and straight forward installation. When working it runs great.
Cons: Issue with Power. Would power cycle itself before the POST even starts. Sometimes would take a few manual manipulations of turning the PWR switch on/off. Confirmed not the PSU or the CPU/RAM.
Other Thoughts: Regarding Yuri's resolution: Defenatly need to upgrade BIOS to 0606. Recomend noone buy this MB. First issue I have had with ASUS out of the box.

Review 3 by Yuri
Pros: I forgot to mention, I downloaded bios 0606 from asus site, copied it to usb drive, shutdown mobo and removed memory stick A1. Powered back on, hit ALT+F2 and upgraded bios - very quick. This has corrected my intermittant power issues with reboot/reset.
Cons: thinking about getting another mobo...
Other Thoughts: buying more than one of the same item should be discounted by free shipping or $15 off price :) c'mon Newegg keep pleasing us

Review 2 by Yuri
Pros: Cdrom that comes with mobo does not recognise Server 2003 (by design). In order to get Server 2003 to work a) create diskette from cd, b) boot with server 2003 install, F6 and choose ICH8R/ICH9R, complete install but do not add any roles yet, load the cdrom and manually go into chipset directory and run setup. Install Audio and other drivers. If you see PCI Serial connector has no drivers copy HECI dir to drive and in HECI\HECI dir modify the inf file so that NTX86.5.2 has same values as ntx86.5.1. Point driver update to this directory and you are set. There might be other items still showing as no drivers, point them to the drivers dir on cd and each dir within that. For onboard vga, go into xp directory and install those drivers. If you using raid, go into chipset dir and run setupsm.......good luck
Cons: Intel does not want us to use their mobos as server mobos, but where there is a will, there is Yuri :)
Other Thoughts: Awesome mobo and gr8 shipping from Newegg.

very good with some minor irritations
Pros: RAID onboard, 4 x ddr2 slots, onboard video. I put in Q6600 cpu with 4GB of ram plus 2x200GB sata drives in raid (mirroring). For Server 2003 to see the raid chip, create the diskette from cd and when in Server installation choose ICH8r/9r... I like the extra height of easy pin connections. Their manual has improved. I have used many Asus boards and am pleased with this one. fanless chipsets.
Cons: ALL new P35, Q35 etc have that power off thing going, even for just a reset...very irritating. Using bios 0403...looking at asus site, bios page says you need to jumper a service set of pins ???? what?where ? I'm hesitant to upgrade bios. As mentioned below, placement of pata connector is a PITA, even for a mid tower case, you cannot have too long pata cables.
Other Thoughts: Overall I am satisfied with my new purchase to be used as a server 2003 box for mail and web hosting.

Perfect so far!
Pros: This MB has all the features I was looking for: on board audio, video, and lan. And it still has floppy support, and IDE, ps/2 keyboard and mouse when many MB's have scrapped those. I have not had the power on and off problems mentioned by some of the other reviews but I leave my system ON all the time anyway.
Cons: Be careful when loading drivers from the Installation CD that comes with the board-if you leave it in the drive during reboots, it boots to a DOS program that hangs! (YMMV) So I just removed the CD between reboots during the driver installations and that solved the problem for me.
Other Thoughts: I also bought Corsair TWIN2X4096-6400C4DHX and a Q6600 CPU and they all work great. (mild OC to 3.0 by changing the CPU from stock 266 to 333 in the bios-you have to change the main category from "standard" to "manual" to access the changes)

Stay away
Pros: Lots of USB and SATA connections, great size, nice price. EZ to flash.
Cons: Does not power down corrrectly: sometimes will turn off just the front panel, even when "off" fans and front panel will remain on, have to hit the reset button to resume for sleep or hibernate Had to find just the right bios version to be able to install windows
Other Thoughts: Stay way. Get something other than ASUS. It is always hit or miss with their hardware.

Do not buy this board
Pros: Was the only card with the specs I wanted
Cons: It was a pain to install becuase the IDE slot is so close to the bottom of the board if you have a medium or large case the IDE cable won't reach. Only 1 IDE slot so I had to dump my DVD reader so I could use the secondary IDE HD that I already had.
I'm also having the same shutdown issue that many other people are having where the fans don't turn off.
I bought this board becuase I wanted to save some heat generation and get onboard video, this was my only option. Had I known then what I know now I would have bought a different MB and bought a seperate videocard.
Other Thoughts: I used to love Asus MBs, but the last several I've bought have been substandard, and I've heard that from a few other people. I will not be buying anymore Asus MBs if I can help it.

Awesome MicroATX
Pros: I built a Vista system on this motherboard. I build several per year and this motherboard resulted in the fastest most problem-free build I have ever had. I used an E6750 and 4GB of PC6400. I actually built two systems built on this motherboard at the same time and I am planning a third.
Cons: I would have liked Asus to have placed a Pizo speaker on this motherboard because I like to be able to hear the POST test when I build.
Other Thoughts: The placement of the PCI-X1 slot away from the X16 slot was PERFECT since I put a Hauppauge 1800 TV card in the X1 and the spacing was much appreciated for cooling. Another plus was this is the first recent case where the front panel audio connectors worked at the same time as the ATX rear panel audio connectors. Good job ASUS!

Great Motherboard
Pros: Integrated graphics, no fans, Quad Core capable. Very fast
Cons: Driver issues with Windows 2003 Server. The sound is not possible to get working.
Other Thoughts: This is a great board for a smaller server. The required components to make this work in an office environment is all on the motherboard, buy RAM, CPU and HD you are done. Printer Port, Com Port and regular PS/2 to interface with existing. I bought these boards for a complete motherboard, CPU and RAM upgrade an replacement for 2 older server. No issues at all Windows 2003 worked on the hardware and only minor driver installs. Now the servers (Terminal Server and RAID 5 Data storage server) should be ready for 5 more years with quadcore performance and 4 GB of RAM.

Darn it anyway
Pros: Plenty of options for future expansion. Ran nie and cool when it worked.
Cons: Like the previous reviewer stated, this motherboard has issues with startup and shutdown. I have troubleshot all hardware components in the PC and all are working. I even tried the On/Off button to see if it was catching. It will not start or when it does (reportedly after sitting with the fans running waiting to POST for 30 minutes or more) it does not want to shut down properly. This is a bit of a letdown as I have used ASUS boards for several builds without problems. Perhaps we get what we pay for ... but for over a hundred we shouldn't have problems.

Pretty nice so far!
Pros: Eveything went smooth! Core 2 Duo 2.66ghz E6750, Nvidia PNY 7900GS, wireless WLAN PCI card, WD 160GB HD working flawlessly. Easy installation!
Cons: Sometimes, it takes abit long to reboot but i think that's a PSU problem giving extra residual power. Have yet to update the bios. 2 PCI slots

Use this board for Hyper-V
Pros: I bought this board to experiment with Microsoft Windows Server 2008 with Hyper-V. With careful setting of the BIOS, this board works with Hyper-V! You will want to search the web for ASUS P5E-VM and Hyper-V to get the correct BIOS settings.
Cons: The connectors on the back of the board are a bit of a dissapointment -- Parallel? Serial? PS/2? You would think that they would have dropped these. I really could have used an eSATA for an external drive.

Versitle Motherboard
Pros: I validated that it worked with both Pentium 4 and Quad-core Kentsfield Q6600 processors. Smaller board keeps the case cleaner.
Cons: Only 1 PCI E slot, but if you aren't going to use them it is no big deal.
Other Thoughts: Overall, the motherboard was easy to install and works well.

Very nice motherboard
Pros: Very strong motherboard, with support for a good quantity of CPU's. Plenty of room to grow. 6 ports for 6 SATA devices.
Don't let my CON's discourage you from getting this motherboard. It really is a very good board and I am not sending it back over these issues.
Cons: Only 2 PCI slots On board Video is junk. On board Audio would not install and ultimately was discovered to be dead.

nice motherboard
Pros: Nice motherboard and works well. I haven't had any of the video problems other mentioned. Other than RAID problem, this motherboard works perfectly for Linux - sound, video, etc it all just works (at least with Kubuntu 7.10)
Cons: -The RAID it claims to do is fakeRAID (in other words, not hardware RAID) I was unable to get it to work with Linux RAID-wise.

Reliable Board
Pros: System setup fairly easy. No major issues. This was my first time using SATA and this board made it easy. System Boots very quickly. To the buyer who purchased before me, I was having a similar issue then I noticed that the Boot sequence in the BIOS was set to floppy first (I don't have a floppy drive) I disabled it and now don't really have any other problems with the board.
Cons: Large video cards WILL block the memory slots, meaning you'll have to remove the card to add/remove RAM, not a huge issue for a board that's probably not meant to be used with an ATI 2900pro anyway ;)
Other Thoughts: pickle

ASUS ! ......... !!! NEVER AGAIN !!!
Pros: Onboard video. High FSB. The "ASUS" Brand.
Cons: Onboard Video. The "ASUS" Bran.
1) Video would not work 50% of the time when you boot up. You have to keep rebooting until it does. It got so bad at one point I had to clear the BIOS so I could get a picture.
2) It keeps "auto-rebooting" endlessly until you pull the plug. This calmed down after the OS was installed but reappeared again later.
I even updated the bios but same problem.
Other Thoughts: I owned an ASUS years ago (P4T Mobo). I had 3 of them and they all did the same thing as this one untill the OS was installed then it resolved permenantly. I am begining to think that its just an ASUS "signature glitch".
I have owned many MOBOs in my time and built many systems. I find some of the ones that are supposedly "lower quality" outperform the "name brands" both in ease of set up & reliability. Save your money keep away from this board.
