Elmo
Pros: It is a big leap from computer bords pre 2004. The memory and Front Side Bus. fsb, are far faster than say, "PC100". This is 400.
Cons: "Not really a con",... Upgrade to FX 72,+, board now. This technology change(s)(d) so fast that this is, after two years, "old hat"!
Other Thoughts: Okay. "Chipset Fan Fail" is what a tiny computer animated voice says on the Tech. information screen at start. How much do people trust the foolproof advice of professionals!,?,! NO, the chipset fail did not actualy fail. It is only a sensitive glitch in the onboard system, the fan works just fine after the "westworld" like voice tells you otherwise. I know, I have heard the little voice tell me it too, and yes, the fan was performing very well! It may have someting to do with "Saint Elmo's Fire",or as they say in *Taiwan where this was made,"Glow In The Dark BooDuh". Get it?.!. *Inventors of "fogging aliasing" in computer graphics. Yes. :)

great board
Pros: I thought that this board was great. I am running it with a AMD dual core and for what I use it for its perfect. When I first got it I was running 2 6600gt but I now have money for a 8600. Perfect for the money.
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: Every problem that I have had was from other bad products.

A8N-SLi......
Pros: When the board worked, it worked great. I had my 3500+ overclocked from 2.2 to 2.42. The PC ran fine and I had absolutely no issues.
Cons: THE ONE MAJOR PROBLEM, and this just went out on me is the chipset fan. I have read online elsewhere that other people are experiencing the same problem as me. Apparently it stops working so now i have to replace it, and if thats not possible to do, then i will have to replace the entire mobo :/.
Other Thoughts: If that chipset fan didn't go out like it did, the motherboard would get a strong 8.5/10. Its not the best out there, but for its time, its definitely a good choice.

Good board - limited OC'ing
Pros: Great board with absolutely no performance problems. Next month will be two years I've owned the board.
Cons: BIOS contains zero options for overclocking the RAM - which obviously limits how much CPU can be overclocked. Did not realize this when I bought it.
Other Thoughts: Board works great with no problems but overclocking options are far too limited.

Over a year and waiting for 3rd replacement
Pros: Great when works
Cons: Had to send the board back 3 times now. 1st one had for 4 months before it would no longer post. Sent board back ASUS gave me the exact same board back with the exact same problem. Sent that one in and they took 2 months to send me a replacement. Received that one and it died after another 4 months with the exact same problem. This time when I went to troubleshoot the problem it wiped out my psu. Asked ASUS for an advanced RMA and they keep claiming that they are not receiving my forms. I have faxed them and e-mailed them 6 times now and every time they say they have not received them. To hell with ASUS.
Other Thoughts: When it worked I had no beefs with the board other than some of the add-ons are crammed in there. I would give anything for a board that worked longer than 4 months. By the time I get a replacement I will have upgraded my socket.

happy it has returned :-knowledgeable 1
Pros: this board is absolutely a sweet board. I have build a # of systems with this board and never had a problem...except for the oem ones. and as one reviewer put it, if you have great memory, you can get a high, stable overclock.
Cons: 'not the boards fault' :- newegg was out of this board for months; what took you so long newegg to get this board hehehehhe. just the same though, i have no cons regarding this board.
Other Thoughts: i have and fx57 default 2.8ghz clocked @ 3.1 ghz with this board. i have tried the a8n32 and the a8n premium with very little success. in fact, the a8n32 was a total waste of time not to mention the heat it generates. the a8n-sli deluxe has proven to be a no hassle, easy overclockable, minimal heat motherboard. i highly reccommend this board.

Good Board
Pros: Good, stable board. Overclocking is easy and fairly straight forward. Pretty good item placement.
Cons: PCI-E is set at 8x when in SLI. Can't get quite as high an overclock as some boards.
Other Thoughts: The biggest reason I gave it 4 eggs instead of 5 was that you cant get a high overclock without it being stable. With good memory it will be a little better. As far as the pci-e being 8x in sli, don't no if that is really a con since it is in the board specifications. If you are not running sli and only are interested in minor oc'ing, this is the board for you. As always, New Egg was awsome, and ASUS is the best.

Great Board and Support
Pros: Very good bored. Comes fully loaded with all the stuff that you could possibly need. Have had very little problems with it. That and asus support is some of the best support I have ever experienced. Short waiting times and operators that know what they are doing
Cons: When upgrading to dual core I experienced a corrupted bios chip and the chipset fan also broke. I called asus support and got both of the parts with in 2 days and now the system works awesome.
Other Thoughts: 5 for asus. 5 for new egg. Both have awesome products, support, and shipping

gameing board
Pros: This board is sweet,no problems what so ever and comes with newest bios installed.super board for the money, great sound built in, plenty of extra tweak settings.....just awesome. !!ROCK SOLID!!
Cons: very few here...i have heard that the gpu cooler goes bad, wouldn't know replaced it first thing with a thermal take crystal orb.
my main negative thing about this board is its not true pci-e x16 when running sli..its only x8....but its clearly advertised,i just forgot to look :)...sweet board
Other Thoughts: after installing to vid card there is a slight room issue for the other pci slots really not a big deal for me.

ASUS Quality Problems
Pros: The first board I bought is 15 months old and I couldn't be happier. Easy setup and installation. Inexpensive entry into SLI technology.
Cons: The second board I bought was an out-of-box failure. The chipset fan sounded like a WWII fighter plane taking off.
Other Thoughts: I've have two out-of-box mobo failures and one out-of-box dvd burner failure from ASUS, all within two weeks. Beware - ASUS QC is not what it was in the past.

It's allright
Pros: Good overclocker, not the best, but still, got my 3200+ running 2.7GHz stable, 3GHz post, but not stable. with proper chipset cooling can run HTT stable @320.
Cons: This board was released before it was ready and abandoned, the fixes were made and then re-released as the premium(imho). Asus would never admit that.
Other Thoughts: There were apparently compatabillity issues with the Antec Neo PSU's, however I've used a Neo480 for over a year, when that went out Antec replaced it with a NeoHE500, they assured me the issue was fixed, 2 months now and no issues, this is still a great board ASUS should call it back and replace with the Premium for all of us.

Pros: None
Cons: Two boards none of them worked if you enjoy sending things back then this would be a pro. Chipset fans rub on each of the cages around the fans, no video on first one, second one had a broken part the little white end on the video card or pci slot that holds the card. Over all disappointing to have to wonder where is there quality control
Other Thoughts: Still playing catch with the company on the boards.

Not a happy camper!
Pros: When it is working it is ok.
Cons: I have already had to replace the Southbridge fan once and it suxored. Now the replacement fan has gone bad...AGAIN!
Other Thoughts: I am in constant fear that I will wake up with a case full of melted goo since the first fan failure. The second failure has it where I have to turn it off when I leave the room...bleh! I will never purchase another Asus motherboard in my lifetime. I have had several problems with the Asus mobos lately.

This MOBO is awesome !!
Pros: Lots of features for the money. This board runs smooth and fast. I love it!!
Cons: The picture from newegg shows 4 x 1.5 Mbps sata Raid ports and 4 x sata 3.0 Mbps ports !! actually those 1.5 Mbps ports(Red) is only the "silicon image raid confing" that I couldn’t make to work at all!!
Don’t even waist time trying to use those ports!!
pop yours SATA HDs on the black port. Set up your bios for raid. Make a floppy disk with the raid and mass storage software!!! you can dl from when you boot windows press F6 to add scsi...everything else follow the MOBO user manual !!
Other Thoughts: I got a very good system for very good $ I love newegg!! always deliver fast with no headache

Works, pleased with Asus
Pros: Great board. Great Company.
Cons: None other than a failure the board had but read below about how Asus is AWESOME!
Other Thoughts: My board started having issues. I had to go through the RMA process but I must say that Asus makes the process stringently straight forward and they fulfilled their warranty by replacing my mother board. The process only took about two and a half weeks.

good board for the money
Pros: good board overall, fast, sli is great, plenty of connections on board.
Cons: Had board 11 months and it quit working. of course new egg was there for me and board is being rma without hassle.
Other Thoughts: i've been hearing that asus quality control has lowered but in this price range i see no more of there boards quitting than other vendors. I would buy this board again.

Terrible Motherboard
Pros: Sli Relatively good Options Big spacing between the two PCI-# bridges
Cons: Doesnt overclock at all Terrible audio(SPDIF doesnt work) Audio Drivers suck Bad Voltage readings causing confused CPU. In Sli its only 8x, 8x
Rma'd twice and it still doesnt work.
Other Thoughts: Dont buy this motherboard... save yourselves.

Great Overclocker & Stable
Pros: Got this in June of 2004. Has been a great stable motherboard for my 3200+ A64. Very stable, great overclock (max of 2600, a good stable 2500 mhz)
Cons: People claim the fan on the southbridge is bad. Sometimes I'll get a "low fan speed" warning but the temps never go > 41 celcius (within normal for this cpu)
Other Thoughts: No complaints at all. Never attempted to use the SLI option but I hear it can be loose and needs some support, but for me this has been a fantastic board

Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe
Pros: Easy install, nice quality.
Cons: With any Nvidia chipset NF4 MB, you will likely have a problem with downloads from the internet being corrupted. The problem can be eliminated by uninstalling the Nvidia ForceWare Network Access Manager from the Control Panel(Add or remove programs). My install came from the chipset support CD rev. 159.04 included with the motherboard. There is a later version of the Network Access Manager (firewall) on the Nvidia website.

Great Board
Pros: Not the newest stuff out there, but it does exactly what I needed it to do. Plenty of options. nTune and NOS are great utils.
Cons: For the first week and a half after I built the system, I kept getting hard drive errors. I had installed all the necessary drivers, and updated to the most current BIOS. I had a 10k Raptor on one channel, then a 500GB RAID1 setup on two others using the SiL3114 Controller. The RAID kept dropping offline. I figured it was the controller, so I tried again using the NVIDIA controller... this time it lasted a bit longer but got the same results. After a LOT of testing (hard drives came out fine), I eventually found out it was a bad SATA cable. What are the odds?? I swapped the cable out (the board comes with plenty) and it worked fine. It was either the cable's connectors or the cable itself.
Other Thoughts: I wish it had more rear USB connectors. Having a USB mouse and keyboard, a USB printer, and a USB scanner, they're all full.

Kickin' Mobo!!
Pros: Easy setup, beautiful mobo, excellent features, excellent buy.
Cons: Only x8 in SLI mode. Has difficulties with high-end Antec Power supplies, I would suggest an oh-cee-zee(OCZ) PSU. Also, it would randomly reboot before BOIS update, but just go to: http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us and look for A8N-SLI Deluxe BIOS. On the install CD there is a Program called FLASHBOIS or something. Just use that and no more random restarts! YAY! Its not as scary as it seems. Great Mobo.
Other Thoughts: Used this for my first build and this thing is Smokin'. My specs are: ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe AMD Athlon 64 4000+ 2x1gb Corsair ddr400 RAM PNY Geforce 7600GT PCIe Seagate 160gb ATA HDD Cooler Master Ammo 533 Case OCZ 600w PSU Samsung Lightscribe DVD/CD Drive

Pros: great board, haven't had any problems with it for eight months. SLI and good overclocking options
Cons: I've had this mobo for almost a year now and just last week the chip set fan decided to go out of control. I have no idea what happened but it suddenly sounds like a vacuum cleaner, I'm working on fixing it but I have no idea what to do, I can't change its speed either.
Other Thoughts: i liked it but i really can't stand the fan.

Aweful Montherboard
Pros: It started off working ok...
Cons: This is a terrible board. If you go to ASUS's forums you'll see all the problems with it. 1. Frequent fan problems. I have to leave the door off my case and push start the chipset fan usually. 2. PATA controllers die. I had two perfectly good Maxtor 250GB drives in there and one day... they stopped working. Now I have 2 250GB SATA drives. 3. It will no longer POST for me. About 4 months after buying it, it sometimes would require about 10 mins after being plugged in to start; now nothing will start it
Other Thoughts: If you have SATA drives, a spare chipset fan, and tons of luck hoping that the board won't die after a short run... then this board is for you.

Great mobo
Pros: Pretty dang stable. No issues whatsoever over multiple OS installs and RAID arrays. Plentiful option for updating the BIOS, and it has the Crashfree feature, which has saved me a few times. It's fast and awesome for overclocking (see below for an improvement).
Cons: Uh...hmmm.
It has RAID built into the chipset and a separate chip. Use the Silicon Image chip, I've had better results with it.
Doesn't come with support for changing chipset/HT voltages? But that can be fixed.
Other Thoughts: This board can be used with the BIOS for the Premium edition (shh, don't tell Asus). It unlocks the HT and Chipset voltages, making it an overclocking machine! You can find the specifics online, just search for it.

Perfecto
Pros: Great mobo for gaming. SLI is easy to setup. ample room for most needs for mid-high end pc.
Cons: i personally dont like to flip the little card around just to enable SLI mode, but thats just me. not really a con. but worth noting for sausage finger people. lol
Other Thoughts: i'd say this board is great. no issues with it.... id buy another to sell and not think twice.

Not Disappointed
Pros: A sweet, overclockable socket 939 board with (almost) everything I need onboard. This board was in the MaximumPC lean machine this year. The layout is excellent and things are easy to reach even inside the case.
Cons: The USB 'cut-out' that people are experiencing is from the NOS (temporary overclocking). Changing the frequency of the whole board messes with the USB controllers, even at modest (3%)settings. Turn off NOS and overclock the old-fashioned way. The onboard sound is not great. With nothing plugged in I still got -32dB of noise on the mic in port.
Other Thoughts: Socket 939 processors are getting less expensive every day. Choosing 939 will give you excellent short-term and miserable long-term upgrade options.

Why not to choose this Board!
Pros: If the Board worked I would have a Pro.
Cons: Got this board in the mail and it was DOA with a Bios Check Sum error. Sent it to ASUS for them to check it out. They sent me a replacement Board. Board seemed to be working then had the same Bios check Sum error.
Other Thoughts: I have 2 Gforce 7900, Physica Acc card, Killer NIC, 2 gb Ram, Big Typhoon fan, and AMD Ath 64 FX 4800. Why the board doesn't work? Don't know.

Lots of problems
Pros: None past what any motherboard should be expected to do.
Cons: USB FREQUENTLY cuts out. Always lose my mouse for 10+ seconds. My phone disconnected as I was writing code, corrupted the memory in that. I've had the computer freeze a few times on me and it loves to continually restart if I enable RAID.
Other Thoughts: This motherboard is not worth what I paid for it. I am EXTREMELY disappointed with it. And for those doing SLI, remember this board only does 2x8x not 2x16x like true SLI boards. I'm going to try chipset/bios updates to see if that fixes the problems. Hopefully it will.

Good board for a Good price
Pros: Excellent SLi board for the price, you really cant beat it. Lots of USB support for front and back.
Cons: Had to RMA this puppy for a dead PCI-x 16 slot after spending about 3 days trying to troubleshoot why it wasnt receiving my second card to run SLi. Was delighted to receive a new board that they had marked "NTF" about 2 weeks after it had been received by ASUS RMA section. Have also been tip off that the chipset fan dies in about 3mo.
Other Thoughts: Do your homework on this one folks! SLi has come a long ways but its a great board for the price, however keep the small things in mind that will ruin it if let go.

Awsome!
Pros: All, everything runs Great! I ordered my first one from Newegg in 2005 with some parts from my old system and considering my RAM was blown it still Ran Well, will all new parts It's Flawless.
Cons: None! I've overclocked the &%#* out of this thing (only for a short time, 2 weeks) with no ill effects.
Other Thoughts: Ive had 6 years of experience. If your looking for a Stable, STABLE! board, Stop searching this is the one!

Awsome ASUS
Pros: Everything worked great right out of the box. I've loaded OS on both RAID controllers (RAID-0)and it blazes along nicely either way. Intuitive bios with some really cool features.
Cons: None, it's awsome, however ASUS customer service is, well,,, nearest i can tell nonexistant. Fortunately with ASUS you probably will never need it.
Other Thoughts: Um...basically, i'm impressed. It's pretty slick. RAID setup is super easy once you figure out that you have to load the OS to make the disk to RE-load the OS RAID mode. No-biggie tho.

Pros: Nice layout. chip set fan is quiet. SLI. includes a lot of goodies. on board sound is pretty good
Cons: The game port connector is too close to the led and power connectors, and I had to shave a little bit off the connector to make it fit. Not a big problem.
Other Thoughts: Compatible with the AMD Athlon 64X2 series of processcors, as opposed to what the box says.

awesome and reliable mobo
Pros: Not much to say that hasn't been said already. Just wanted to point out that this mobo now ships with the new, much improved northbridge fan so there is no need to replace it.
Cons: none

Great so far!
Pros: 4xSATA II ports, 2 IDE ports, great BIOS for overclocking.. so much better than my MSI motherboard!
Cons: I installed the nvidia firewall software, but I've heard bad things about it. I may disable it in the future. It doesn't work with utorrent.
Other Thoughts: Got for $xx at a local computer store.

Niiiiiiiiiice!
Pros: More features than you can shake vern troyer at! I think I counted 10 or 12 SATA connections possible with the expansion cards and slots on the board. Still supports floppy drive and layout is fairly good for airflow with IDE Cables.
Cons: Very picky about RAM used...I had 2GB of Ballistix but they were bought at 2 different times and as such were from different batches and this board would not let me run them together.
Other Thoughts: AMD X2 4200+ @ 2.4ghz 1GB DDR400 Ballistix 2 - evga7900gs Rosewill 600W PSU 3dMark03 - 28190 3dMark05 - 12670

I got da gold
Pros: Reliability - Over the years I've had many boards from ASUS. Most of which had nForce chipsets on them. I'm happy to say that all of those machines are still running to this day! Price/Features Balance - I got this board back when SLI was brand new and the board cost well...I'll just say an arm and a leg :P. But for the price it has the features. Dual gigabit LAN, 8x SATA (<<rofl...I'm only using 3 of them), 7.1 onboard (and the onboard soundcard is quite good), of course..dual PCI-E, and it goes on and on. All I can say is that it has a load of features. Compatibility - I've had this board through so many revisions and upgrades it makes my mind boggle. Every piece of hardware I've thrown at this thing has worked flawlessly.
Cons: The almighty chipset fan...yes... This is the one caveat of this board. If you buy this board make sure you are CONSTANTLY checking your chipset fan to make sure it is running. I had heard about this problem before I got the board and sure enough.. 3 months later my fan failed. I got a nice big replacement for it though instead of another stock from ASUS. Heat - The nForce 4 is a freakin powerhouse. Even with the size of the heatsink I put on it it still gets to about 37-40C (considering my CPU w/ its huge Tuniq Tower 120 only hits around 35C). ASUS fixed it in the A8N-SLI Premium w/ the addition of the slim heatpipe cooler, but unfortunately you can't just go down to the nearest computer store and buy one (of the heatpipe coolers that is).
Other Thoughts: Why do I praise it so much and give it a 4 out of a 5? Well...the whole fan thing. Because of the chipsets location anything besides the stock heatsink hinders a video card with a after-market cooler. I have an X800 w/ a ATI Silencer on it and I have to run it in the second PCI-E slot (yes it does work at 16x if your wondering) because my chipset cooler keeps me from using the slot below the first PCI-E slot. Why is this a problem? I run 3 hard drives inside of a TT Tsunami Dream (great case...but kinda small) and I literally have 2mm of space between my video card's cooler and my hard drives. Got this board two years ago and it's still going strong! Thanks Newegg!

warranty service rudimentary
Pros: 1. very good performance of working board 2. good placement of components 3. very good build-in components
Cons: 1. out of 4 boards purchased 2 were broken within 2 - 4 months 2. Asus warranty (RMA) service is focused on delay tactics to get rid of warranty requesting customers
Other Thoughts: 1. first warranty repair took 4 weeks 2. the same board was returned to me without fixing it 3. second warranty requests (RMA) for the same board took 4 weeks just to get RMA# 4. level 1 and 2 technician ask for the same information that is required to be filled up on RMA request forms 5. delays, delays, delays

Running Wild
Pros: A great motherboard from Asus. Paired with an Opteron 165, Hyper X memory and an X850-XT video card. Easily overclocked, Currently running 2.43 ghz. Planning to upgrade memory and video in the near future.
Cons: None at this time. Just keeping an eye on the northbridge chip set fan. I have read these seem to be a point of concern.
Other Thoughts: Take time to go through the manual in order to gain maximum performance from the bios settings.

Solid, Good Board
Pros: Everything about this board is nice. Good features, better than normal documentation. Comes with some good software too. Runs my X2 3800 at 2.5 without a hitch. Haven't found anything buggy yet.
Cons: Sadly, there was a short somewhere on the board after 2 months or so. Luckily I RMA'ed and it is dandy now. With water cooling on both my gpu and cpu, the northbridge fan is actually the loudest thing in my case, gonna replace it soon.
Other Thoughts: Well worth the money.

Over 1 1/2 years, NO PROBLEM
Pros: Rock solid for me. Took a little fudging to get my raid to work, but that was my lack of knowledge, not the board. Once I got used to all the features the board rocks.
Cons: The built in LAN ports do configure properly for me. Again, back then, not alot of knowlege. Just disabled them in BIOS and used a spare LAN card I knew how to configure. Again, back then, probably my lack of knowledge.
Other Thoughts: Be wary of other's negative reviews. Take into consideration a person's exprience & knowledge. In addition, poor choice of power supplies (I ONLY use PC Power & Cooling. Three lightning strikes can't be wrong) and other components can lead to problems that SEEM to be the motherboard.

Started Great but then went downhill
Pros: Great price and tons of additional peripherals, lots of bios options and overclocking abilities.
Cons: Right out of the box I couldn't use the number one and two sata nvidia slots, then one of my memory slots went bad, now it won't even recognize my other 7600GT, so no sli, which is the whole point of this board.
Other Thoughts: Not sure if I'd get this board again, seems that a lot of people have problems with it.

Excellent Socket 939 Choice
Pros: Got this board in March of 2005 and it has performed flawless for me. A ton of extra software features (some good, some dubious), extensive BIOS control, good layout, and SLI ready. Make sure you're getting a socket939 processor, of course.
Cons: The nForce chipset fan becamepainfully whiny. Asus sent poopy relpacement. Eventually installed chipset hink sink and superglued a fan on top. No more problems!
Other Thoughts: Seriously, I want to meet the person who shops for online computer stuff at another site. Newegg is the ONLY way to go!

Very disappointed
Pros: Great layout and features. Looks good cosmetically.
Cons: On my second RMA. The first board didn't POST, or have video. Second board doesn't post, have video, and doesn't detect memory and cpu, or lack of.
Other Thoughts: ASUS is a solid company, and I am not sure why 2/2 so far have been majorly defective. I hope the third puts my trust in this company back.

A8N-SLI Deluxe MoBo
Pros: Fast, stable, fantastic levels of overclocking control. An idiot can install this board....just follow the too simplistic instructions to the letter and don't install the firewall software.
Cons: 1) Temp sensors report falsely high temps. Ignor them. Just use a case with LOTS of airflow. 2) Meticulously go thru the setup menu so that you have the stupid stuff correct such as having the correct bootup drive at the top of the list, etc. Occasionally seems to freeze-up during the setup and during the early reboots. Remember: Ai. It is learning and correcting. Unlike me, be patient and it will setup like a champ and give you flawless performance and speed with stability. This board is a ROCK. 3) Fan cools the chipset....its failure eventually is inevitable. Just keep an eye on the fan speed monitors.
Other Thoughts: A great board. Tremendous over-clocking ability with ease for the inexperienced. Can do it incrementally to avoid board/CPU catastrophe. The price per performance unit unbeatable. Less money: you give up critically necessary features. More money: additional features hard to justify for the price.

Lots in the box.
Pros: If you like getting a lot of extra stuff when you buy something then this is the board for you. It has pretty much everything you will need as far as on-board stuff, cables, etc. Really, really easy build with this motherboard... worked great on first boot with my X2 4800+, GSKILL RAM and Gigabyte Feforece 7300GT. PCI Express is a big plus.
Cons: BIOS features may be a little sparse for some.
Other Thoughts: I like the Nvidia firewall... it catches pretty much everything. Of course it can always be disabled if you want something else.

Great Board
Pros: This is my third board A8N-SLI. These boards are great! They overclock really well. Plenty of space for upgrades. North Bridge with stock fan stays good and cool. I would suggest this to anyone for a good quality build. This board you can keep for a long time. It is really upgradeable.
Cons: ASUS has gotten me addicted to buying their boards... =(
Other Thoughts: NEWEGG. And no other.

Great Mobo for 939 - Not all RAM Compatible
Pros: 2- PCI-E x16 slots. Included USB and Firewire port wires. Great spacing for CPU fan Zalman CNPS7700-Cu.
Cons: NVIDA firewall software is a nusiance, but it can be disabled. My 512mb (256x2) Kingston Value RAM (KVR400x64C3AK2/512) would not work with this board. Be careful if you have this RAM.
Other Thoughts: Overal a decent board but the incompatibility with my RAM set me back another $xxx for a replacement 1GB kit

First went bad and second one DOA
Pros: I havent had one that worked 100% yet
Cons: No testing before shipping No Quality assurance
Other Thoughts: This is my second A8N deluxe. The first one would always hang up on windows boot up and sometimes wouldn't recognize it had a harddrive at all. I thought the new computer was running pretty good until it crashed when i went back to my old on i noticed it ran so much better and it's going on 3 years old. Second one didn't post i swapped the parts back out to the old motherboard (to old to get RMA'd) and it got past the post, but of course still locked up on the windows boot up....i'm trying again..

...Bad-in-the-box !!!
Pros: Looks real nice, great packaging, lots of cables and extra's, box weighs a ton
Cons: After getting the board, discovered there was a "Qualified Vendors List" that specified the RAM you are to use. Naturally it didn't like the RAM that I got, so had to do the "return thing" then it wouldn't boot at all... Bios was JUNK right out of the box! NEWEGG was great as usual, took it back and gave me a tissue :)
Other Thoughts: Called the manufacturer about the board and spent the DAY trying to get some help. Finally I was told that the BIOS is bad, and they have to send me a new one and I get to install it, AND I get to pay for shipping. After I stopped laffing, I called NEWEGG and they said if it's defective, send it back. NEWEGG ROCKS!! The manufacturer was for the most part not at all concerned about their products or public relations

dude... it's an ASUS
Pros: dude, it's an ASUS, you can't get anything better, except a more expensive ASUS board. and apperantly you can flash this thing's BIOS to the premium's BIOS and get a few new settings, haven't tried.
Cons: okay the BIGGEST cons that i had where the following: if you want to OC the board thru the BIOS, look under "jumperfree configuration" and why it was called that, i will never know. also, i think you HAVE to set the settings in there to something like A.I. N.O.S. or something if you want to OC it in windows.
Other Thoughts: dude.... it's an ASUS, it's going to last past a nuclear war, where only the roachs and ASUS boards exsit, and if it dies, ever, you most likely can just let ASUS know and they'll RMA it, i've had great response from them with older stuff that died, they RMA-ed no problem.

Great so far, but make sure you set the video card selector!!!
Pros: From what I've seen so far, this is a great quality board that comes with excellent documentation in the manual.
Cons: Make sure you set the video card selector to "Single Card" if you are using a single video card!!! It says in the manual it should be on this setting by default, but mine was set to the dual video cards setting out of the box.

Great board, horrible chipset fan
Pros: - Good board layout - Great overclocking, versatile features for overclocking - Lots of Serial ATA ports - Built in Firewire and multiple USB headers - Uses the tested and true Socket 939 platform - Plenty of fan headers
Cons: - Voltage selection limited upwards to 1.55V - Chipset fan is horrible
Other Thoughts: I have had this board for a little over a week, and everything in my system is designed to be quiet. All the fans are running at low speed in my system, except the chipset fan which runs at over 6000rpm. It vibrates, and makes a loud hum. I'll be replacing the chipset fan with a Zalman, but that is going to be a pain and an unnecessary one at that. I wish the chipset heatsink was larger and fanless. Also the board does not support higher than 1.55V for the CPU - which limits overclocking potential somewhat, but not so much for me and my San Diego core FX chip.

Would be a 5, but...
Pros: When I got a working board, it was a fast setup and runs stable. The AI OC utility is simple, and works well for mild OC. Comes with an astonishingly large number of accesories. Replacement board had newer BIOSthan on Asus site.
Cons: First board was DOA.
Other Thoughts: Wish the RMA could have gone through Newegg instead of the manufacturer.

Nice Board
Pros: Great board for the money. Lots of features. Stable so far.
Cons: Position of ATX power, if you are using a front facing HSF, this may block the fan...
Other Thoughts: Some of the connectors are in strange places, but overall if you want to build a mid range SLI box, this board is the way to go.

Great Mobo
Pros: Very easy to install, manual is easy to read, everything works well. Sound is great. Everything is built sturdy was not worried about snapping it in half. Good board for the price.Looks cool in case.
Cons: Ive had problems with sound card. But after isntalling the drivers a bunch of times i think it finally works correctly. Only other problem is its hard to mount my arctic cooling CPU fan.

Default SLI Problem
Pros: This is an excellent motherboard with tons of features that allow for multiple configurations as well as upgradability.
Cons: The main issue that I have with this motherboard is based on the manufacturers motherboard owners manual. The owners manual states that the default setting for the SLI video card is "One" video card and in fact it is set for "Two" video cards. After 4 hours and finally figuring that one out, the motherboard works just fine.

Two years of problems
Pros: Loads of features, SLI and PCI-express support. Decent onboard sound.
Cons: Power issues, memory issues, IDE and SATA problems. Also, the chipset fan ended up dying within the first year. Basically everything that can go wrong with a board has gone wrong.
Other Thoughts: Avoid this board at all costs

decent MoBo
Pros: It's a decent MoBo for the price. I haven't messed with the OC'ing capabilities of the board yet, but from start to finish I only had one problem getting it to boot up.
Cons: With this MoBo I was basically building a whole new system. All of the components (listed in Other Thoughts section) worked just fine except for some Corsair TWINX1024-3200C2PT memory. Initially with those two chips I could not get the system to even post (or hit BIOS!). So I put in some different mem chips that I had, rebooted, and the system started up, and from there I was able to get windows installed. After getting windows installed I was able to get the system to boot with the Corsair mem chips, but I have no idea why!
Other Thoughts: 1) Corsair TWINX1024-3200C2PT 2) Antec TRUEPOWERII TPII-550 3) AMD Athlon 64 3700+ San Diego 2.2GHz 4) Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD3200KS 320GB 5) ZALMAN CNPS9500 LED 92mm

Pros: ASUS SLI DELUXE, NForce4 Sli Chipset. Havent had any problems with it yet.
Cons: ASUS SLI DELUXE, NForce4 Sli Chipset. My board was clearly used before.
Other Thoughts: Looks like ASUS just stopped making this Mobo and just sent out the ones laying around or the ones that have been repaired. I payed for RETAIL so I expect to be getting a NEW product. there were fingerprints on the heatsinks, which really ticked me off, but I have already put my comp together when I noticed.

Pros: As I am on the 4th board in 10 months, I don't have anyhing good to say, but stay away from ALL ASUS products. I am a system builder and can't get these boards to last over 2 months, if they even work at all.
Cons: Save your money. I invested in high dollar Video, Ram, and Hard Drives, only to have them on the shelf for the last 10 months trying to get the mainboard to work or last. I have spent more time assembling and disassembling this machine, than I have using the computer.I doubt if I could ever get my investment back. I HATE ASUS. I am considering leaving New Egg as a customer and finding another vendor that has more reliable products (Am I getting RMAed parts as new?).

SLI beware
Pros: Very easy to work with considering the amount of ports it supports.
Cons: Had a dead secondary VGA slot on delivery. Had to RMA it to company for repairs... too bad they dont pay for that mess.
Other Thoughts: Price per pound vs other mobos out there... its good. Not the greatest of course but you get your money's worth... even if you have to have it repaired.

No one beats Newegg
Pros: Great layout and 4 dimm slots makes it perfect for what I need. I just replaced an AGP skt 939 board and got another because Asus never fails me. It works flawlessly with my four 512mb Geil pc4000 sticks.
Cons: Nada.
Other Thoughts: I don't know why I ever order from anywhere but Newegg. I tried to save $2 by going with another popular online site and the GROUND shipped Newegg got to me 2 days before the free 2 day air shipment that zipzoom did.. took 2 additional days to process. If you want something in a hurry, the rush processing newegg has is just unbeatable. I'll never order from another company again to save a buck.

unpredictable quality
Pros: very good setup options and configuration; very good performace while board works
Cons: unreliable quality: 2 out of 3 boards were send for warranty repairs within 2-3 months since purchased
Other Thoughts: board quality is a problem, warranty repairs were completed within 1-2 weeks

Find something else
Pros: When it works right, it's quick and quiet.
Cons: This has to be one of the worst mobos Asus has ever created. When I first put my system together, I was having random reboots, dead key board, no video, etc. Had to keep reseting the BIOS to get it to work. Eneded up having to flash the BIOS with a beta upgrade, because ASUS doesn't like supporting their products. Now 8 months later, I woke up this morning and guess what? It's doing this same stuff again this morning, so I'm dumping this piece of junk mobo and finding something else. Stay away from this series of motherboards and make sure if you have one and are experiencing random problems to let ASUS know ASAP. If enough people complain, maybe they'll start supporting their products a little better.

WOW
Pros: The grandfather of SLI. Great stable board. Easy to set up and lots of extra's
Cons: There arn't any. This board rocks. No memory weirdness like Abit or others.
Other Thoughts: If you want SLI for 939 this is the board to get. The expanded PCI board is nice also but expensive!

18 months and counting
Pros: Stable overclocking, alot of features, if you OC too much it automatically resets to last good configuration
Cons: only 1.55 vcore (hinders your max overclock), Resets the memory divider automaticaly (even if you specify your divider)
Other Thoughts: My computer is run almost 24/7, and I do alot of video, audio encoding/recoding/decoding. I also play alot of games. This motherboard has done well by me so far (18 months and counting) I get a good stable overclock of my Athlon 64 3200+ from stock 2000 mhz to 2500 mhz, can run a max of 2600 mhz

AWESOME
Pros: There is nothing bad about this mother board in any aspect.Who cares about a fan, go get one from computer stoe or online and give it a bigger better faster fan. I have successfully overclocked my amd athlon 480 dual core 2mb cache 939 to 3.8 ghz stable with windows xp home/pro/corp/vista <beta> and linux. The best thing about it is is has absolutely no noticable difference what so ever between a8nsli32-deluxe and this a8nsli-deluxe i have 2 7900 gtx video cards sli'd and overclocked processor with a venus 12 cpu fan and 4 gig of ddr and 9 hdd with 14 fans to cool it and i have NO complaints about this board but will rag on the a8nsli32-deluxe because of the cost and effectiveness. I wish they would have gotten rid of the single to dual graphics chip between the pci-e slots
Cons: hmmmmmmmmm, nothing because it is a nice board for newer games and it can even handle the fx+ cpu from AMD mmm fx60 , actually it is no better than the 4800 dc amd 939, which by the way is one of the only amd cpus that has 2mb cache all the others range from 1x2 to 614x2, this one is BLAMMM!!!!!! 2mb cache no noticeable differnce between the fx and 939 dc 4800+ still
Other Thoughts: if you are thinking of overclocking but dont want water cooling and can handle 45db sound go with venus 12 from thermaltake.... they freaking rock m k. and for a perfect build computer at a nice cost these are some good items/products that match this board perfect
..3200+ athlon or higher (up to fx60) ..fish tank case (only because of the fan capacity and room it has) ..80 gig sata2 hdd or higher ..9 fans in total (4 case fans / 2 fans in the power supply 450 + watts / venus 12 by thermaltake / pci fans ( wont use those all that you need is intigrated) / and 2 front fans whee the cd roms would go ( i have 2 fans in front because i have 2 dvd burners/readers up front, could fit another if you only have one) / and of course i have a modified fan mount under my hdd area blowing on the hard drive

Cons: this board is untouchable
Other Thoughts: worth the $$$

Pros: This is a casaul gamers dream motherboard. Enough options to keep you satisfied, and simple installation.
Cons: None - If you're not looking for extensive overclocking options.
Other Thoughts: After having previously owned one of these before (and then ESDing it), I'm glad to see that my new one had the BIOS flashed to the latest revision, and that the northbridge fan issue has been fixed.

Taking Any Suggestions
Pros: Great board with many features. Great overclocking ability. Runs very stable. Came with a ton of extras.
Cons: Computer fails to read the First SATA Device after any restarting or exiting the BIOS. Must turn computer off completely to get board to recognise First SATA Devise. Had to place the Hard Drive on the Second SATA Device to keep this problem from happening. I am at lost with this problem. Not enough of a problem though to tear the board out for a replacement.
Other Thoughts: Any suggestions on my problem with the First SATA Device are very welcome.

Nice Board
Pros: For the person who is on a low budget and who needs to make the upgrade from AGP to PCI Express, this is a nice baord. Lots of upgrades, like 4 SATA drives, at a nice price but still supports IDE!
Cons: This is the second ASUS board in the last year that did not ship with the correct BIOS for the processor I bought. I purchased an AMD Dual Core 4200+ processor socket AM2. I needed to send it back to be flashed to the latest BIOS before it would boot.
Other Thoughts: This is a nice board. I am a die hard ASUS buyer. I've owned 5 of these boards in the last 5 years. But the last two ASUS boards have really let me down. I've had to have both BIOS chips sent back to ASUS and flashed before they would boot. Also a word of warning to newbies...don't buy any other RAM for this board except that on the qualified vendor's list (QVL). I tried Geil RAM with this board and no go! Had to buy Corsair XMS-2. A little more expensive but well worth it. My system smokes now. This board is worth the money!

No problems
Pros: Plenty of room between the PCI-E slots. Three PCI slots allow you to block one with your second video card and still have two to work with.
Cons: I've heard the fan will die, although mine hasn't.
Other Thoughts: You *can not* pull your XP install out of one machine and in to another. It will require you to reactivate (if you are lucky enough to boot), I'm pretty sure it violates the EULA and it appears as though they make it intentionally difficult to do... (since you are breaking the rules, it almost makes sense).

i hate it.
Pros: who would want a mobo that has great stability, overclocking options, sli compatability, and a free trial of Norton AntiVirus. Who would want an amazingly functional board with a wonderful ammount of features.
Cons: none.
Other Thoughts: totally amazing board, newegg rocks.

Never again
Pros: New Egg
Cons: BIOS update doesn't work via internet or being downloaded to file (floppy or HD). All software that used to run on Shuttle moved to this Asus setup and many incompatibility issues.. Fine, but not being able to update bios and drivers with ASUS site is a pain. Bought ASUS years ago when I first started building home systems, I'll stick with SHUTTLE in the future. The name of the game is product quality and after sale SUPPORT.

Love it
Pros: This board is a rider. No heating problems. Packing an AMD 3200+ 64 bit, 3 gb of 400 mem, 7900 GT, two 320GB HDDs in a Raid0 and this thing keeps going no problems.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: Thanks Newegg.

excellent board
Pros: this board is great, as long as only 1 gpu. I have a 3700 san diego, 3gb ocz cas2 gold, 2/250 wd s2 in raid 0, with evga 7900gt and this system plays pretty much any game sweet, set-up was not to bad, considering the raid, otherwise a VERY EASY board to tweak and, to quote "the j. geils band", MADE LOUD TO PLAY LOUD. and play loud it does, quietly of course.
Cons: ????????????
Other Thoughts: if you are going to only run 1 gpu this is the board for you, if goint to run 2 then get the a8n32, otherwise this is all that you need to have a smokin' system. think about it now, 8 sata and ide, for those you like it slow, LOL, and you can run sli too. that sounds like you can have your cake and eat it too. SWEEEET !!!!

Simple as it gets
Pros: I think this is one of the easiest and cleanest mobo out on the market. Super easy BIOS, evenly spaced out pci-x and pci slots, over all awsome board. Came with the new chipset fan compared the earlier models.
Cons: Non.
Other Thoughts: Had to quickly update the drivers and was set.

ASUS A8N-SLI
Pros: Fast boot, plethera of SATA ports, IDE and SATA RAID, more BIOS options than I can shake a stick at, Phoenix BIOS for those who can't get it right the first time; need I say more?
Cons: First one was DOA.
Other Thoughts: My setup
AMD 64 X2 3800+, 2 GB Kingston RAM, BFG 7900 GTX, 74 GB Raptor ADFD, 2x Caviar SE 250 GB, Creative Audigy 4, ATI HDTV tuner, PC Power & Cooling 510 watt PSU.
