Pros: Easy to find everything, most jumpers come set to be flexible for those who don't know a lot. Generally good board

Cons: Ordered two, one came DOA, replacement came with the heat sink for the bridge unscrewed and screws rattling in the box. Has me a little nervous.

Other Thoughts: If the replacment had come fully put together, and hadn't gotten a board doa would have been a 5 egg purchase.

Rating + 5 Good Board

Pros: This boards BIOS is vary easy to set up with some internet searching. I found that if you get the BIOS wrong it will shut down and not harm anything. This was my first build and I am vary happy with my final out come. I am running my Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Kentsfield 2.4 GHz LGA 775 Quad -Core at 3.2GHz no heat problems at all. I am running 9 fans in my tower.

Cons: I put in 2 XFX GeForce 8600 256MB 128-bit GDDR3 PCI Express X16 SLI Supported Video Cards in and was not able to use both cards because there is no bridge with this board. I was told that I have to use ATI video cards that comes with a bridge.

Rating + 5 C1 errors?

Pros: A lot

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I bought this board Dec 07 and have never really had a problem with it. Only time I ever get C1 errors is when I was tweaking and got my ram settings incorrect. I have had Crucial DDR2 800, Crucial DDR2 1066 installed and even had 2GB of the 800 paired with 2GB 1066 and ran perfectly @ 800. Had the cpu running at 4GB no prob, ran 3.8GB Crucial 1066 @ 1141 24/7 for almost 1 year, not 1 prob. Currently have cpu running at 3GB with OCZ DDR2 1200 (9600) @ 1142, runs flawless.

C1 errors are usually RAM voltage or RAM timings set incorrectly.

Rating + 2 Good Luck Getting Support

Pros: Easy overclock, nice layout, no problems with build

Cons: Have had to re-install OS 3x for disk corruption using (3) new drives Either bad controller or memory error (see above)

I have e-mailed TECH SUPPORT at DFI TWICE in the past 10days with ABSOLUTELY NO RESPONSE.. THIS IS INEXCUSABLE. There is no support phone number I can see to call (if someone does know, let me know please).. So I have a useless desktop (fortunately a back up system is running)

Other Thoughts: BASED ON EXTREMELY POOR SUPPORT, I would never buy DFI again (I have built over a dozen systems w/ASUS, Gigabyte, Supermicro, INtel MB's)

Rating + 4 update to c1 errors

Pros: 45nm support, 3 pci-e slots {read con on this}, nice layout, nice green uv colors, awesome bios options.

Cons: the 3 pci slots are x16,then x4 and finally x1 from top to bottom. but i knew this before i ordered it. fsb jumpers {yes jumpers} have to be get past c1 errors {unless its an OC c1 error}transpiper is useless on cases that mount PSU on bottom...

Other Thoughts: other than the FSB jumpers so far im pleased with this board {which is why it got a 4 out of 5}

Rating + 5 Fantastic

Pros: Everything and anything, it got my Q6600 to 3.6 gHz in about 4 mins and about 3-4 adjustments, the layout is great and it is a beautiful board in a UV friendly case!!! Top notch quality and assembly and more accessories then I've ever gotten with any mobo

Cons: Not a single one, I would have been more then happy dishing out an extra $100 for this board

Other Thoughts: The reviews that say it is pure rubbish and crud are more then likely just Asus fanboys that hate to see a better product then they own, this is a top notch product that should only be purchased by those with high knowledge since the BIOS settings are endless

Rating + 2 Works but VERY buggy

Pros: None

Cons: Constant C1 errors right out of the box. Many attempts to contact DFI support were ignored. I finally found out via my own research and google that the C1 error is ram related and is an apparent bug/flaw with these mobos. I thought loading fail safe settings would get it to boot, nope. Takes many retries until it would POST, I guess fail-safe settings are NOT fail safe. Once it would run, it's not a bad mobo but that's only if you want to put up with their special quirks.

Other Thoughts: I'll never buy another DFI after this one, it was a nightmare.

Rating + 1 Stay Away

Pros: None.

Cons: Was defective -- not DOA -- out of the box. Would not post without multiple re-starts, on-board poser and re-set switches would not work. RMA's to DFI who kept it for 10 days, flashed the BIOS, and ignored on-board switch problems. When returned to me and re-installed, had low-voltage electrical short to the motherboard tray. Removed all accessories until only PSU and MB in chassis, short still there. Installed different MB, no short. Definitely this board.

Other Thoughts: And the on-board power and re-set swwitches still don't work...

Pros: Not many...

Cons: First board was DOA. Second board was not stable. Had to finally flash BIOS to (hopefully) fix stability issues and got post code 88. WOULD NOT BOOT. I am done with DFI and have just ordered a EVGA 132-CK-NF78-A1 LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 780i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard. Hopefully this one will work better.

Other Thoughts: See cons.

Rating + 4 Update on ergonomics

Pros: Once you get it installed, this thing let's you do just about anything you can dream up to tweak, tune and overclock a system. At this point, I'd give it 5 stars if the physical design was better.

Cons: Fonally got the screw in that's blocked by the NB heat pipe; as others have mentioned, it required loosening the NB. When you're taking a wrench to a motherboard just to be able to secure it, that's a mighty serious design flaw.

DFI Support says there's no way to replace the Transpiper monster with something smaller and less in the way. If anyone knows of a substitute, I'd be happy to hear about it.

Other Thoughts: Had a memory probelm - one of 4 sticks was bad, although it passes MEMTEST. This did not affect the GIGABYTE board this DFI replaced, but it stopped this board from even starting to POST. Still having a minor glitch when a floppy drive is installed - making it hard to set up RAID, and am waiting on answer from Tech Support. DFI Technical Support, BTW, is excellent.

Pros: Overclocked to 3.6 ghz right after I installed. Q6600 GO will do that with almost any board. Waiting for arctic silver to cure before I go higher. I think it will do 3.8 with air.

Cons: First motherboard arrived DOA. Had to RMA. Newegg was great with the RMA, and the second one arrived in about a week. Installed it and it wouldn't post. Removed 1 stick of ram, rebooted, and it started.

Other Thoughts: This is a great motherboard with a lot of options. Iv'e been overclocking for about five years, but I have never seen a bios with this many options. This board might take three or four weeks to tune. I like 'em when there tough to understand. Buy It!!

Rating + 3 Worst ergonomics EVER

Pros: I will update this as I gain experience with the board. Right now, it has very little going for it.

Cons: Engineers worship "elegance". It's what we strive for: elegance in design, elegance in construction, elegance in use. This is the most UN-elegant piece of computing equipment I have ever seen. As other point-out: the NB heat pipe covers a mounting hole; the "Transpiper" heat sink is nothing but a way to torture assemblers; in a mid-tower case (Lian Li), the side-faqcing SATA ports take a lot (a lot of a lot) of thought to be able to get the HDD back in, they do not lock lockable sata cables; there are not enough fan connectors. Overall, the designeer was a sadist, or ignorant.

Other Thoughts: There is nthing worse than trying to put together a system in a shiny new aluminum case, and having to wear surgical gloves for the six or eight hours this mother takes to fit, remove, refit, re-remove, re-refit, and so on. I've used ASUS and GIGABYTE boards, and while less capable for O/C-ing, at least everthing had a place and the bottom of the case didn't get to looking like a rat's nest. Mybe if you've worked with DFI boards before, this is not a challenge, but even for the expereinced builder, this is not a board for the faint-at-heart.

Why would a board this expensive not offer alternative to the mostly worthess "Transpiper"? Why not a set of fins that can be bolted to the NB similar to how you bolt-on this monster?

Overall, this si the worst layout and design I have ever had to work with! What is typically a 60 - 90 minute build is in it's sixth hour, and I ahve to break it down one more time to be happy with the cable routing.

Phooey, I sday!

Rating + 5 Excellent board

Pros: This thing just works. No drama with pushing processors and memory to their limits. The board layout is, for the most part, well thought out. Connectors do not interfere with each other and cables can be routed to block a minimum of airflow. The flash

Cons: The bios does not have a boot option to select the boot device on the fly; e.g. the "Press F12" option that other vendors offer. You need to edit the setup to change a the boot order if you wish to temporarily boot from CD or USB stick.

Other Thoughts: Do yourself a favor and flash the MB with the latest DFI bios *before* you install the operating system. The board allows automatically flashing from a floppy with nothing else connected. Incorporating the relevant DFI, Intel, and JMicron drivers into your XP or Vista (use nLite or vLite) greatly reduces the pain of o/s installation.

Rating + 5 Let me clarify...

Pros: See below.

Cons: This goes with my post below. I could not, no matter what I tried get my board to POST. That C1 issue with the RAM is a killer. Thisn't a warning, but be very careful with the RAM you put with it. If it's not what the board wants at default it will not boot. I had 667 and 1066 RAM and it wouldn't boot, just hung at C1. You need to have some 800 RAM handy to boot it and set your settings for the RAM in the BIOS. If you don't good luck getting this board to work. DFI makes amazing products, but they aren't for people who expect to get parts and put whatever they have laying around in it and expect it to work out of the box. Not putting the board down, but it's very very picky about it's peripherals, so be warned. Once you get it working it's still a handful but you have an arsenal of options in the BIOS that beat out any other board you compare it to.

Rating + 5 DFI is great

Pros: The ability to clear the CMOS bu holding the reset and power switch is really nice! Also, the diagnostic screen on the motherboard is very very handy when there is a problem. The board is absolutely amazing. Everything is built very well. The transpiper thing is pointless to me. If you have it off the back it either sticks out in front of the exhaust fan on the back of the case or out into nowhere and it's kind of obtrusive inside the case, but it's a neat idea. The audio card with the bernstein is a great thing too, so it's not a huge card in my way. Probably not the best card if you need really high quality audio but it's not bad. Jumper to manually select FSB speed is cool, and oprions everywhere all over the board. Will take your C2D or C2Q and take it to the sky. The SB/NB/MOFSET heatsink keeps it cool. Absolutely nothing near the socket except the NB which is awesome so you don't mess up a capacitor.

Cons: My board would not POST because of my RAM. It gave me a "C1' code on the diagnostic led thing on the board. If you have RAM that isn't at default 1.8 volts the board might no POST until you get RAM into it that will and change the RAM volt settings in the BIOS, then your RAM will work no problem, but this seems to be a reoccurring problem. Hard to find info on the error codes by the way. FSB wall around 480 though, but that's still really high. The NB heatsink is kind of in the way for bigger heatsinks but if you watercool it's fine.

Other Thoughts: Have this with a Q6600 and 1066 RAM and it's great. Definitely a solid overclocking board!

Pros: GREAT OC OPTIONS! This is one amazing P35 board.

The Ram OC on this board is the most amazing thing I have ever seen.

Provides a stable OC on everything, and the Transpiper is a great addition, and the sound is good.

The color Scheme is great

Cons: Just died unexpectedly one day. No reason. No surges in my area, no new hardware, nothing, not even a usb flash drive.

It just died on me.

Other Thoughts: Too expensive to last only 8 months. It died over X-Mas, and it was so blasted expensive that I just could not throw it away...

Rating + 5 BaddAss MoBo

Pros: Ok I don't do reviews but this MOBO has compelled me to do so. If you want a MOBO that has legs this is the one for you. I started out with a Q6600 and 2Gigs of Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel, ie so you know, and a VGA 8800GTS,I have moved up to Intel Xeon E3110 Wolfdale 3.0GHz 6MB L2 Cache LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor - Retail. All had to to do was drop it in and off it went!!! A first for me. And this is about my 15th or so build. NEWEGG rocks, had it here in 2da's. You go NEWEGG

Rating + 5 DFI is motherboard goodness.

Pros: Where to start. You can tell this is a quality motherboard just by picking it up and looking at it. Good PCB, good capacitors, you name it. Chunky chipset / NB stock heatsinks. Fired up first shot, never had a BSOD or BIOS problem what so ever. EZ-Clear feature allows quick reboots if something goes wrong. The BIOS is great for all of your overclocking needs. Slightly difficult to understand unless you are quite familiar with OC'ing but hey, that's probably why you are looking at this board. There really isn't a whole lot you can't like about this board. Sure it's expensive, but if you don't want to spend the money, don't get an enthusiast board.

Cons: There is only _one_ thing I can say was a silly over sight on DFI's part. They put one of the heat pipes directly over top of a screw hole in the middle of the board. They give you 10 holes in this board, but this one is rather important due to its middle location near the cards you push down on, I didn't want any flex by removing a standoff and placing it at the other screw hole so I had to loosten the NB heat sink considerably to get the screw in. Come on DFI! That's just silly.

Other Thoughts: Minus the screw hole placement, which is easily fixed, this motherboard is great. DFI continues to make quality product with their LanParty boards.

Rating + 5 Solid Board

Pros: No BSOD's, no crashes. CPU OC'd and it is still stable. The drivers work good too.

Cons: I've got the transpiper on the outside of the case, but heat transfer doesn't work like water being pumped though a line. So, the transpiper heatsink is cold and the rest (NB, SB) are still hot. The number 1 PCI-E slot is too close to the DIMMs. My 8800GT is rubbing up against my Dominator Fan, not cool. The SATA ports are pointed sideways at the bay-side edge of the board and depending on how your bays are filled, the SATA cables might hit something when installing. They should be pointed out.

Other Thoughts: Overall it still gets a 5/5 from me for being a solid board with good drivers (even though it did take some initial tweaking to get it to work properly). I guess my biggest gripe with it is the layout, but that is no big deal if I can get everything in there and I did.

Rating + 5 First DFI and best MB I've owned.

Pros: First DFI and best MB I've owned. Easily pushed my Q6600 to 3.6 GHz with a 480 Watt PSU on the first day of owning it. Hit a limit of 3.95 GHz due to PSU and thermal limits. BIOS updates monthly. Good OC forum support. BIOS Memory and voltage tuning options galore. It will extract maximum performance from the Core 2 Duo CPU. You'll be thermal or voltage limited before the MB throws the towel in.

Cons: The Heat Transpipe concept is useless. It sits in the output airflow of the PSU, it gets very hot. Luckily my transpipe bracket sits in the flow of two good case fans below the PSU, this helps greatly. No SLI or true CrossFire support. One IDE connector on board.

Other Thoughts: Pushed my FSX to maximum settings (20fps @ 1280x1024) video card limited (7900GT) Running with G.SKILL 1GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) no problems reported. Finally hit 3.95 GHz and crashed when power demand hit 400 Watts. With a decent thermal solution (Water), hefty PSU (1000W) and fast memory, I'm sure it will push a Q6600 upwards of 4.0GHz with some patience.

Rating + 5 Love it

Pros: Easy to Overclock. A dream to work with. The BIOS Rocks. I've managed to push a Q6600, b3 step, to 3.3GHz on a stock cooler. I could go higher, but I dont want to tempt myself. Perfect for anyone who wants to build a new system Sub 2000 with all the bells and whistles.

Cons: None really. The first was DOA. But as I said on the Q6600 review, I think it was a fluke. As always, Newegg took care of me and made sure I got everything I needed.

Other Thoughts: Systems running with an Intel Q6600, overclocked to 2.9GHz (stopped myself from going above 3.3GHz), 4gb (2x2) OCZ ReaperX HPC. Asus 3870 video card and a Silverstone ST85F. Main HDD, Hitachi Deskstar 320GB Sata 3gb/s.

Rating + 5 Tech Support a high point

Pros: Lots of features and pretty well laid out. I had a BSOD problem after rebuilding a raid 5 array. Found the number for tech support in Taiwan (!) and had two very helpful conversations and several emails with English speaking tech support there. Eventually they handed me over to tech support in CA who called me on the phone the next day. Anyway, problem was with a bad IDE CD drive and not MOBO! Just impressed with their support. Board has otherwise worked well.

Cons: I hate the SATA connectors being on edge. This was the same with an ASUS board I had. Very hard to get connections made. I would rather the cables plug square into the board.

Other Thoughts: E-6850, Noctua 120mm fan cooler (works great 35C under load), Raid 5, 8 Gigs GEIL DDR2-800 works well. WindXP 64-bit. Tech support also recommended bumping DRAM voltage up from default 1.903 to 2.0 for stability when running this much ram.

Rating + 5 nice oc

Pros: this is my second, my first was doa. i've had it a month or so with an e8400 and it is a great stable board. better overclocker than my old ip35 pro. it overclocked my q6600 300mhz higher than the ip35 pro, all other components the same. has .5 multipliers on the 45nm cpus. monitoring software works in vista64. has 5 or 6 fan points.

Cons: expensive, the same or more than dfi's x38 boards. transpiper thingie worthless. the sata ports dont let my sata2 cables with latches be inserted all the way. cpu socket a little too close to top of board, so if you have a case with upsidedown mainboard, dont expect to use a true or tuniq. also top pcie slot way to close to dimm slots.

Other Thoughts: the several cons still dont take away from 5 stars. an excellent running board. great bios. i am a huge proponent of big volts, and you can overvolt everything on this board, and by a lot. nice black pcb but chartreuse and yellow plastic slots and sockets? next gen of dfi boards has the cmos reset from the i/o plate, a big plus when you oc a dfi board. this has a way to clear cmos using the on-board power and reset micro-switches, but you still need to open case.

Rating + 5 DFI Motherboard

Pros: Has all the bells you will ever need on a motherboard. Alot of BIOS setting so you can get alot out of it.

Cons: Well lets see, first off. DO NOT, I say again, DO NOT get a retail processor for this board. You will end up not using the heatsink that came with it if you plan to use the transpiper. I had to find this out the hard way. You need to purchase a heatsink with a retention bracket. The push-pin style heatsinks will not work on this board. I went and bought a ASUS 92MM Vapo Bearing heatsink and it went on easily. Others like the TUNIQ will probably work for you as well. That was really the only CON that I have had. BUY A HEATSINK WITH A RETENTION BRACKET!!!!

Other Thoughts: I've had other issues but they are not in relation to this board. RAM overheating, I will solve this issue with some active air cooling. Another tip, on this board, you can plug a FDD power connector into the board to help solve failing power issues if you are planning to run SLI. I only have one card at the moment. Check your RAM voltage, make sure you have it up to par. Update your BIOS. The revision of this board I bought was old and needed to be updated. Other than that, I am really pleased with this board. DFI tech-support replied to me very quickly. Make sure you contact their North America branch and not the one in Taiwan. Good board overall, well worth it.

Pros: Still a very good OCing motherboard with all options wanted.

Cons: Setting NB voltage to high will yield many unwanted side effects like the PCI Express Link Width changing to 1x instead of the MAX Link Width of 16x. There is also the problem with the system not properly booting up when a USB hub is attached.

Other Thoughts: DFI support is really responsive so far with awesome third party support also.

Pros: If you are into fiddling around in BIOS and trying to eek out another mhz of performance this is the P35 of choice. Pushed three different g0 Q6600 to 4 ghz on LC.

Cons: Not enamored with the DFI RMA policy. DFI will only replace the board for 90 days...after that they only will repair it. DO you really want a repaired motherboard?

Other Thoughts: Price is now within reason and in line with many other premium P35 boards. Fantastic looking under UV. Runs very cool. Not always stable at default or auto settings...must master the BIOS young padawan.

Rating + 5 Awesome OCer

Pros: Will have all the options that you will need to OC. Provides stable power for good OC.

Cons: MOSFET by the PWM heatsink gets really hot. Thermalright HR-09U Type 2 will easily fix the problem. The Transpiper doesn't work to well maybe with some thermal interface between it and the heatpipes will help.

Other Thoughts: Good manual that explains pretty well what things are or how to setup the motherboard. RAID 0 seems to be iffy sometimes not working and requires a CMOS reset before it works again.

Rating + 5 A great 775 board

Pros: Works like a champ and was really easy to set up. The external heat pipe option took some thinking to work out but it sure does work.

Cons: About the only think I can think of is one that others have mentioned that the SATA connection face forward making them hard to get to once installed but clearance could be an problem other wise installing hard drives depending on how the case arranges the cage.

Other Thoughts: We did not tweak the bios much nor did we see much need so can't really comment on how hard or easy it is to set up.

Pros: Moved the on board jumpers to 1333 on a Q6600 that i did not get from newegg. and BAM post @ 3ghz. then i went into the bios and cranked up voltages and fsb. so far all i have to say is WOW, i wanted to get the most out of my Transcend aXeRam 2GB DDR2 1200 from newegg and i did 1400mhz 5-5-5-10 @ 2.3v processor is flying at 3.87ghz and thanks to my scythe infinity it doesn't tough 60c at MAX load!!!!

Rating + 5 DFI Board update

Pros: This board is rock solid, stable-stable-stable....OC E6750 2.66Ghz up to 3.8Ghz with adjusted voltage settings. Currently running at 3.5Ghz 2000Mhz Fsb DDR2 800 running at 1001 (5-5-5-15)...this thing is flying. Runs all my games on high with the help of an EVGA 8800 GTS SSC 640...OC also.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: This boards sweet spot with E6750 and Crucial Ballistic DDR2 800 seems to be 3.5Ghz 7 x 500. You can go to Andtech's website and read the article on this board. They cover the complete bios and provide optimal settings examples.

Rating + 5 Great Baord

Pros: This board is great. Easy set up. Great performance. I like the colors of the parts. The heat pipe cooling is nice (no noise). The Transpiper thing is cool and adds more cooling capability for the chipset.

Cons: The right-angle SATA connectors are advertised as being a good feature since they keep the SATA cables out of the way of the plug-in boards. I found them to be a little extra trouble to get the SATA cables plugged up once I had the board installed in the case.

Other Thoughts: Will start the over clocking soon. I have a Core2Duo E6750. It will be interesting to see how high it will go.

Pros: NewEgg Customer Support rocks as usual.... wouldn't expect anything less from NewEgg

Cons: DOA. I should have bee concerened when I opened the box and found the Mobo not in an ESD bag. But i was still excited so I decided to build the new system. Long story short... wouldn't boot, found the board speaker jumper in the off position (supposedly Default is On), secondly found the CMOS jump in the reset position (Mobo's are never shipped this way). Third time being burned my DFI. Heard good things about them, IF you can get their products to work. Called DFI Customer Support, left numerous messages never called back, 0 support online.... very dissapointed.

Other Thoughts: I asked the NewEgg Customer Support if I was accidently shipped an already RMA'ed board do to the condition that i recieved the board in. I was told that it would have been impossible and that the board was Shipped from the manufacture in that condition. Ohh well... I should have stayed with EVGA... new EVGA board on the way :)

Pros: Lots of features from what I've read.

Cons: DFI's website states that this board will support an intel QX9560. I've tried installing two of these chips with no luck. System will not even POST. I even took it to a computer store where they flashed the latest bios onto the board and still no good. I'm now RMA'ing my second QX9650 and going with a 6600.

Other Thoughts: DFI's tech support is absolute garbage. I could not find a way to email them, no forums to discuss the problem. Only thing they have is their standard spreadsheets which says this processor should've worked.

Pros: Everything is great on this board once you update from the DFI website with the newest BIOS. the raid of 6 satas works great once the Bios is updated to the newest version. the other brige supports the other 2 droves used for ops system or other in a single or raid configuation

Cons: Board has to be updated to the latest BIOS for full functionality. easy to do from the DFI.com website.

Rating + 5 Nice!

Pros: DFI, need I say more! Fun board, Had Crossfire and SlI working on it! With hackeed SLI drivers it worked, have CF running now with 2 3870's! Nice board, normal for DFI, lots of Bios and tweaks!

Cons: Price, and the second PCI-e slot is only 1x/4x, and if you run 4x to run CF then you loose a one LAN! Dont know why it just is gone when you change the PCI-e slot to 4x! Want the x38 board they will at least run 8x/8x

Other Thoughts: DFI makes some of the best overclocking gamming bopards out! they can be picky so watch what you buy to go with it. Also they can be a pain to get up and runniong, setting the Ram timmings and volts manualy will resolve any boot up problems. but once your in, your in!

Rating + 5 Great Board

Pros: Easy Installation with Vista 64. I flashed the bios using a floppy when I recieved it because it came with a 1 revistion old bios and that went smoothly. Nice space on the board between slots and good clearance around all the parts.
Overclocking dream. Is taking voltage and clock increases like a pro.
Good Onboard Audio
Nice dual Ethernet and many USB ports.

Cons: If you have a small case, the SATA ports face foward and not up off the board, could be a problem. The Transpiper might work great, but I installed the CPU cooler first then realized I had to place the transpiper in BEFORE the CPU cooler. Didn't feel like going back, but with a Zalman I'm idling at 32c so who cares. The transpiper is also a HUGE pain with a one piece case to place on the southbridge so I just left it off.
Onboard Audio is an awsome chipset for Vista, but is lacking an optical port and the daughter card solution takes up more space in your PCI slot area.

Other Thoughts: In todays Motherboards, I hadn't been used to jumpers ON the motherboard itself in a long time. Took me a while to go through them all and check for their settings I needed to use. Not all of them where on the "default" as stated in the manual BTW. The board has more Clocking options than I know what to do with, but some quick googling of setting definitions has my rig running more stable than I have ever gotten it before thanks to these crazy OC options. Very nice board overall, I wish I had waited for their UT X38 board (dec 20th), but I talked myself into not upgrading much just yet, just needed a replacement motherboard for my fried gigabyte 965-dq6.
Oh, I would suggest a small active cooling solution for the NB if you have one. Although my processor stays at under 50c under load, the NB gets pretty toasty. Nothing dangerously high, but warmer than I would like it. Might help if that transpiper was installed too. Oh well.

Pros: Unbelievable Clocking

Cons: Congratulations to me for buying it.

Other Thoughts: After reading the anandtech article on tweaking this I now have a stable 3.7 GHZ clock on my 2.66 E6700. The kicker is that the northbridge voltage is even lower than factory preset. The DRAM volatge runs at a cool 2.15v so my DRAM coolers were really a waste of money. WHEN I SAY STABLE I MEAN ROCK STEADY. NO GLITCHES WHATSOEVER!

Pros: Not very helpful, but my E2140 is running at 3.2 GHz...Don't laugh. This thing is supposed to be somewhat future proof. I'm saving up for a quad core.

Voltage options are absolutely insane. Who needs 3 volts to the RAM? Who needs 2 volts to the processor? This board is built for the most extreme enthusiasts out there. That's why :p

Cons: there are even more options in BIOS with an update to the 9/23 BIOS.

Other Thoughts: The FSB selection jumpers don't seem to do much, other than make it not POST with certain RAM ratios...leave them all set to auto (pins 1-2) and all will be good.

Also: Update the BIOS. Mine came with a beta BIOS.

Pros: This board is great, easy to overclock -- got my e6320 Duo stock 1.86 running cool @ 3.2 Ghz (31, 32 C). I had the foxconn 680i board; complete junk... couldnt get it to oc past 2.5, but this thing runs stable and the voltages are stable. LOTS of option, lots of bios options... not a board for noobs.

Cons: nada, this board seems to be great... no problems or issues that ive run into yet.

Other Thoughts: a bit pricey, but you gotta spend cash on nice stuff -- 250$ might deter some, but its a good board.

Rating + 5 Outstanding motherboard

Pros: tons of options, overclocks very well. Very little vdroop compared to my old Asus board.

I have been using Asus boards for several years now, and decided to try this board out based on recommendations here and elsewhere. Honestly I don't think I will go back to Asus in the future if there is a comparable DFI board available. This is by far the best motherboard I have ever owned.

Cons: Did not include any USB or Firewire slot expansions to pug into the USB and firewire headers on the motherboard. I did not need one anyways, so it is not a huge issue.

One other issue I experienced is when loading Everest Ultimate Edition - the computer will instantly reboot. Don't know how to fix this yet, so I just use the included utility to monitor temps and voltage.

Other Thoughts: The green color scheme and cables look very cool in my case with a couple of UV lighted fans.

I was also barely able to fit my Thermalright Ultra120 Extreme on my CPU. It barely clears the northbridge heatsink, but it fits fine. The included transpiper worked better for me attached to the PWM chips rather than anywhere else. Dropped the temps there a good 4C - not too bad.

-We pushed our E6750's from 2.6 to 4.02 for a bit! What Fun!
-Currently cruising @ 3.6 w/8800 and Ballistix significantly OC'd as well. This has all been done with air cooling thanks to the antec 900 case and zalman!
2. Good design. Love the uv colors.
3. Good price. Newegg of course!
-prompt shipping and phenomenal customer service! Save your money up and go with a solid board. It does make a difference in the long run.

Cons: Wish AMD would have come out with their quad, so DFI could pop out a board just in time for Unreal Tournament III, but oh well.

Cons: Some may find the number of settings on this board intimidating. Might be over-kill for those who don't look under the hood and want to performance tweak.

Rating + 5 No need for initial modding - if you mod it'll be for extreme OC fun

Pros: Painless OCing even for less-than-average experience OCer like myself; instant 35% OC of 65mm dual core at all auto. 50% stable OC to 450mhz next day gently bumping a few voltages and disabling the VDroop - via BIOS, a rare feature - almost boring in how easy it was to reach. This on air. On-board heat pipes actually work. All of the P35 peripherals (12 usb ports, a serial port, etc) and options user-accessable. Endlessly tweakable BIOS. Enough room in the CPU mounting area to build carports on both sides of a huge aircooler (eg, Ultra 120 extreme). Stunning attention to detail. Knowledgeable and active community at dficlub.org and xtremesystems.org. Numerous 500mhz+ FSB on air

Cons: Overkill for stock users for price. Doesn't come with a zillion accessories. Power FET heat sink could be finished a bit smoother for mating with the Transpiper. Spoils buyer from other vendors.

Other Thoughts: The realized cost isn't as large as it appears since the effective on-board heat pipes don't need to be pulled, saving ~$100 on coolers add-on coolers and heatsinks.

Rating + 5 Monster Board!

Pros: The most stable and adaptable P35 board I could find.
Uses the very best of components.
Unheard of air cooling flexability.
Even better than my DFI Venus board (also bought from Newegg).
Newegg service.

Cons: Not for the timid nubie or lazy.
Requires a bit of work to get the very best from your components - but get the best out of them it will! (This is a "con"?)
The board name - I feel it should have been called "Franken-Board", as it's Green and Black, Bolted Together and just can't be stopped!

Other Thoughts: If you are serious about building the BEST PC you can, this is the P35 motherboard to buy.
You may also want to stop by the DFI Club Global Support Forum () as it's supported by DFI and has tons of priceless "How-To"s on this and other DFI boards.
Doing it all yourself is tough without that resource, even if you've built other DFI based PCs.

Pros: awsome board, easy to clock my E6700 and it is loaded with features in the bios. I wanted to add this review to my other one to iterate that this DOES NOT have a toggle for clearing the bios . I just realized the last review I wrote my have been misleading. I was trying to say that it should have a toggle on the board or some switch to clear the bios so one doesnt have to fumble with jumpers. They do give you extra jumpers that have long grab handles for easier removal. They dont come installed but are in a plastic bag with the screws.

Cons: Buy this board and some recommended gskil memory and clock your 6700 to the moon.

Other Thoughts: DFI is simply the most reliable board for overclocking. The onboard components have tighter tolerances and better thermal stability characteristics. Cheaper boards compromise by using loser tolerance onboard components which is ok if your not pushing the limits of your board

Cons: It would be nice if all of the bios features were documented in more detail so I didnt have to go googling.
Even the diagnostics display on the motherboard isnt documented. RIDICULOUS. How can I diagnose the thing if I dont even have the codes pffft

Other Thoughts: Dont understand why memtest wasnt in the bios. Also nice to have the bios jumper as a switch so I dont have to fumble with a little tiny jumper. For the money I think they could afford it. Or why not just reboot automatically back to the last good bios setting???

Pros: No-nonsense: Seriously well made and solid. It almost feels crafted, rather than assembled. Don't have to play with the jumper to reset. Bios does *exactly* what you tell it to - No guessing required. Overclocked my Q6600 to 3Ghz on less than stock voltage!

Cons: Lime Green!?!? Meh - I'll just keep the case door shut. :p

Other Thoughts: I thought the trans-piper thingy seemed kind of gimmick~ey. But went ahead and installed it on the CPU anyways. It works: Same case, same CPU, same CPU cooler, yet 3~5 degrees cooler. (31~34 @ idle, 55~ish after 4 hours of Prime 95 test 1. nice!) You will *not* be able to use the heat pipe on your CPU with a stock fan though: You must have an aftermarket one that installs via screws.

Rating + 4 Recommended, but research first

Pros: Packed with the latest features and nice P35 chipset. Can do 8 SATA devices. Nice cables provided. Detailed manual. Plenty of USB ports.

Cons: The mounting of the additional heat sink is slighly challenging. I think it is ugly if mounted outside, and consumes 1.5 slots inside (I went inside). Driver CD-ROM didn't work (tried more than 1 computer) - but was easy to download them from the manufacturer website and install via pen-drive. The area between the CPU and RAM does not have a mounting screw slot, so the motherboard has to flex slightly when installing the RAM and CPU. Would have been nicer if the audio was onboard instead of using an expansion slot.

Other Thoughts: This is my third DFI motherboard. I am happy with this brand overall. I bought this pricey model because of my past experience wiht this brand. The installation of this motherboard is for experienced users only.

Rating + 5 awesome

Pros: beautiful and wonderful at the same time.
this thing performs like a champ
easy bios setup and simple installation got the transpiper installed externally and cools wonderfully.

Cons: none what so ever.

Other Thoughts: had to get aftermarket cooler to accomidate transpiper in the position desired and new hard drive to utilize sata but that is OK. this board is awsome and so is NEWEGG. great shipping and quick.

Rating + 5 BEST MONEY CAN BUY

Pros: This motherboard is incredible. It has neirly no Vdroop (if you set it to 2.1volts on your memory, the voltage you get to your memory is 2.1volts) I overclocked my Q6600 to 3.5ghz and my ram to DDR975 with no issues what so ever.

Cons: NONE!! THIS THING IS SO EASY!

Other Thoughts: did I say how easy this was? I have only over clocked 939 CPU's, it only took me a little while to get this puppy crankin.

Rating + 5 Best P35 Overclocker

Pros: All the BIOS options you expect from a DFI Lanparty. Overclocks like a champ. V-dimm , V-core as high as you want. Dividers everywhere.... Great overclocking board period. The color combo is a love it or hate it and i love how it looks. It can go well with the right case.

Cons: More expensive than many Great P35 boards. Installation of Heatpipe cooler.

Other Thoughts: This is the best P35 overclocking board hands down. It will be your best friend with a 1333 fsb chip and some Crucial Ballistix.

If you buy this board please don't put value RAM in it, cmon guys!

If your buying this board your either rich and ignorant or know what your doing ;)

Rating + 5 Absolutly the best

Pros: it doesnt get better then DFI Lanparty for overclocking. I love the cmos reloaded feature. you can save up to 4 configs, so if you tweak too far, just reload one of your save points.

Cons: Alot to tweak. Not a board for newbies.

Rating + 5 Best P35 mobo hands down

Pros: I have 3 P35 mobos now and this one is easily the best one..tons of BIOS options and great performance with excellent stability. Very low vdroop (has BIOS option to control droop as well)

Cons: None!

Other Thoughts: Transpiper module helped lower temps even further...use it on PWM (will help there more)
