Rating + 5 Great board

Pros: Very nice board over all.
HD 3000 is no power house but packs enough power to do almost anything you need.
Bios is pretty simple and strait forward and has plenty of options.
AM2+ Got a Athlon II 250 in it and it's running amazingly.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Took me a few looks at the bios to figure out how to overclock but after I figured it out it's easy.

Rating + 5 Excellent Server Board

Pros: Supports ECC memory. If you email Biostar, they will say that this board does not support ECC. However, there are ECC options in the motherboard (you can see them in the downloadable manual); likewise, memtest86 detects the ECC capabilities. There are fairly detailed threads about this board on SilentPCReview and HardForum that explore the ECC situation.

This board also has very low power consumption. Note the simple VRM area: that means the board will not support high-wattage CPUs, but I consider that a positive. Pair this board with a low-wattage CPU, and you have an excellent platform for a very low power fileserver/NAS box. Again on SilentPCReview, there is a thread that details a configuration that uses less than 30 watts AC.

A final major win for me is that the PCIe x16 slot can be used for more than just video. Some boards, e.g. the Gigabyte GA-MA74GM-S2, only support video cards in the x16 slot.

Cons: For the price, I don't think there are any real cons. It would be nice if Biostar "officially" supported ECC. Other minor points/nice-to-haves: a bigger northbridge/GPU heatsink (although I haven't had any problems at all); all solid capacitors. These are extremely minor quibbles in an otherwise very high value motherboard.

Other Thoughts: No problems/works great with Linux. The CentOS 5.x driver for the LAN chipset (Realtek 8111C) is too old, but you can download the newer driver from Realtek. Newer distributions probably include this driver by default.

For about six months, I've been running a fileserver built on this motherboard, AMD 5050e CPU, 2x2GB ECC RAM, and 4x1TB RAID5 (using Linux's excellent "md" software RAID). The system has been running 24/7 with zero problems.

I bought this board "open box" on a whim, and am now considering buying a second just because I believe it's such a great value. The low-power features plus ECC options make it an extremely rare find at this price point (even at 2x the price it would be a good value).

Rating + 5 Always a good brand

Pros: This was the 5th Biostar board I have bought over the last 2 years. I have never had a problem with this board. Install in case/put in CPU connect power and extras/turn on, and away you go.

Cons: 24port and 4 port power needed on board. That's it. that's the only thing I can say bad about the board.

Other Thoughts: Biostar has a loyal customer in me for a long long time :D
Extremely satisfied.

Rating + 4 Bought for Dad

Pros: I needed to get dad out of the stoneage and into the future. This mobo did just that.
I paired with AMD x2 brisbane 5200+ 2.7 GHz
2gb OCZ platnum
his old hard drive and dvd
585 watt power unit
the onboard graphics were fine for him
(can you believe the GPU ran mercinaries 2 on low and 768x1024 I couldnt.
For $200 and his old part's he was out of the stoneage.

Cons: not really for gaming but if you add 4gb ram, a dual core cpu, and decent graphic card, it will shock you.

For my app there's no con's

Other Thoughts: Biostar makes decent boards as of late and I'v started giving them a chance. I wile back I got the TF-8200 heat pipe edition for me and paired with 2.7 brisbane x2, 4 GB OCZ sli RAM, and a XFX 9800GT 256bit GDDR3 512mb
and hybrid SLI'd it to run every game i threw at it.

Rating + 5 Superb yet Dissapointed

Pros: The board it's self was a breeze to install. Over the past month I bought all needed from NewEgg here, as I always do. AMD Processor ,Nvidia ChipSet Video Card ,Western Didital SATA H.D.'s ,Rosewill Case & Heatsink w/Fan & a few other odds & ends. The new Rig is for my wife, to replace her old one. She dosn't stress her system like I do with games..soo its a nice tidy ,fairly up to date piece of work. the install went without a hitch.. smooth as glass (aquired all the drivers & Bios upgrade ahead of time from Biostar's site.) The wife loves it & I was thrilled that it went together so smoothly. with one exception.

Cons: This board wasn't listed when I bought mine.. same model & all.. but mine was what's called >Open Box<. If this one HAD been listed I would have bought this one for sure. I paid shipping for starters. That point alone negates the savings of $10. Now I CAN live with missing a thing or 2 from the box.. when its an <Open Box> purchase.. but Guys.. Pleeeease. The unit lists that it comes with : the board itself (of course) ,HDD Cable ,SATA Cable, Rear, I/O Panel ,Install Guide ,Driver CD ,USB cable ,SPDIF cable & SATA power cable. a general list that comes with most all motherboards. I recieved The Motherboard.. Thats it Fini.. Done.. AND I wouldnt have been all that un-happy IF I had recieved the rear I/O panel along with it. The rest I have or can get quick enough. Now the wife is unhappy as well.. because if (which I DID DO BTW) Installed all into the box & set it up to run. (If & when I actually GET the I/O panel from Biostar.. which so far has been >Not forthcomming ).

Other Thoughts: In the end. It's built . And any puter builder knows what I will have to go thru when (If I even get the I/O panel) it arrives. Talk about a nightmare made & delivered. Sooo.. my dissapointment is not with Biostar (least not yet) I'm not allowed to mention any names. So I'll leave it to your own intell to figure out. I feel that even tho It was The purchase as stated. It should have at Least included the I/O Panel.. Otherwise you end up like myself. Building the Box TWICE.. & having an Un-Happy spouse in the Intrum.

Rating + 5 BIOSTAR A760G

Pros: So far, after reading the reviews extensively my expectations were right. This MoBo would give the least amount of trouble. Being a first time builder my tech understanding is not quite savvy as other builders. This MoBo is simple, inexpensive, and a good upgrade for my old systems.

Cons: No IEEE 1394 port ! and the PCI 1.0 and 2.0 expansion slots are mounted too close. For my system, I needed all the expansion slots available. When installed my xfx video card I found out, other expansion card could be blocking the cooling fan. So, not good for air circulation.

Other Thoughts: For now, I'm quite please with this system performance for the programs I'm trying to run. In regards to the PCI slots, I can look for other alternatives that works for me.

Rating + 5 Works Great with 125W CPU

Pros: No Problems with the AMD Athalon 64 X2 125W 6000+ at 3.0Ghz. I was able to fit an Arctic Freezer Pro 64 on top the cpu and had plenty of room. Bios has some OC options, but I had limited sucess with getting the system OC and stable, but I also don't need it OC'd so it wasn't a problem. I had no trouble during installation and the Bios was already up to date.

Cons: no firewire connection, but I don't need one...just kept looking for where to hook up the wire from the external port on the case :)

Other Thoughts: Biostar A760G mobo with on board ATI 3000 video, AMD X2 64 6000+ at 3.0Ghz, 4GB OCZ DDR2 800, WD 250GB HDD, Sony DVDRW, Arctic Cooler Freezer Pro 64, and Antec 550W case. Running OEM Windows Vista 64 Home Premium with Asus VH226H monitor

Rating + 5 I want another one

Pros: A beautiful, clean, low-power board that booted up the first time, I am extremely satisfied and considering getting another one. I used this in combination with the 45W AMD Athlon 64 X2 5050e (which apparently NewEgg doesn't sell anymore) and Mushkin 1.8V RAM, and the temperature remains in the low-to-mid-30's under all but the most stressful conditions. Stays in the mid 20's with the case fan on medium.

Cons: I waited to write my review, but after several months, I have absolutely nothing negative to say.

Other Thoughts: I chose this board for my first build, and could not be happier with the results. I understand that, as others have indicated, this is not the absolute top-of-the-line when it comes to performance, but it does provide a great balance all around: speed, price, features, ease-of-use, and documentation. I think it could function equally well in a server or workstation, so I am seriously considering another one for my next build.

Rating + 2 Avoid the Tech Support

Pros: Cheap Combo price and solid motherboard.

Cons: Their Tech Support department is not very punctual on replying to emails and the BIOS had to be updated straight out of the box for Windows Vista Pro to be installed without crashing. I had the problem already fixed by the time tech support replied with a one sentance suggestion that was of no use.

Not too impressed on their support or having to update the BIOS before the product works but it seems to be running fine now.

Other Thoughts: Be sure to update your BIOS to the latest first thing because if it isn't, you are going to run into some crashes and a lot of cursing this board.

Rating + 4 BioStar A760GM2 motherboard

Pros: very good price with the combo package (mobo+CPU+memory)

Cons: I wish the PCI 16/ex on the farther side from PCI since my NVdia 9800GT take up 2 slot in which it takes away my PCi slot

Other Thoughts: not sure about Biostar tech support. They are not very helpful. My DVDRW stop working after I switch the motherboard and they claim mine probably broken. I have to put in a new one to see who is right.

Rating + 4 The Price is Right

Pros: Excelent mid-range board for the price.

Easy install, only took about 20 min from opening box to closing tower.

Smaller size leaves a little more room for wiring around the board.

All the included software and drivers worked with no issues.

Cons: RAM is a little close to the CPU so you are sort of limited on the cooler size.

Not going to run the state of the art games.

Other Thoughts: For anyone out there that is whining about the 125w processor that is bundled with this. Alot of new MOBO's don't come with the up to date BIOS installed. If you dont know that and don't know how to flash new BIOS in you probably shouldnt be building a computer.

Rating + 4 Bang for your Buck!

Pros: I bought this mb because it was partof a bundled deal. I was looking to revive a 4 year old pc I had at my office. So far I am really happy with my purchase. It started right out the box. No Bios update needed. Perhaps it only works with the CPU of the bundle but price/value relationship is great! THis is not a top of the lines system but it gets the job done!

Cons: Cannot complaint of anything yet. So far so good. Just keep in mind that this system was not built for gaming or anything extreme.

Rating + 5 So far so good

Pros: It's only been a few hours. So far it is running all of the IDE/SATA drives, video and usb/mouse/keyboard connections with no issue. Its running at normal temperature and installing Windows right now with no bios update for the 125w CPU.

Cons: The RAM sits pressed against the heat sink. Shouldn't be an issue though, as the RAM has an aluminum cover anyways.

Rating + 5 How to bypass the shutdown

Pros: this isn't really a review, more of a way for the people who are complaining about the newegg deal. if the warning shows up saying that the cpu is over 95w and it is going to shut down, press f10, this will stop the automatic shutdown and allow you to update the bios through a flash drive or a floppy drisk. hope this helps the people hating on the board, it really is perfect for a cheap system for home or office, low-end gaming only for the built in graphics, but still a great board with the bios update.

Cons: took awhile for me to find the fix on their website for the bios, so if your having trouble finding it, i recommend emailing biostar, they usually get back to withing the hour during the week.

Other Thoughts: just a side note out of the three i bought, only one needed the bios update, so apparently some of the boards have the update already.

Pros: I will also confirm that the mobo worked out of the box with the combo'd AMD 6000 125W CPU. Haven't had any problems and the onboard video plays css and tf2 at 80fps everything on high.

Cons: With combo'd cpu and ram the heatsink will slightly touch the ram. I don't really care but thought I would mention. No parallel port. Not a problem, just didn't notice this when purchasing.

Other Thoughts: Alot of bang for your buck in this combo.

Rating + 4 Good Budget Board

Pros: Used in a build for a new office computer. Installed Vista Business with no problems. Board is small, yet has just enough slots for basic upgrades. Bios utility provided by biostar website made for a painless windows based bios update.

Cons: Needs a bios update to support the cpu I got from newegg's combo deal. Memory is so close to the heatsink it appears to be barely touching.

Other Thoughts: This board does work with processors above 95w, but you have to flash the bios first using a <=95w processor, then swap out the cpus. I used my Kuma 7750 from home, and the install was very easy. Once I had Vista Business installed and updated, I flashed the bios, reset the bios to default settings, swapped out the Kuma for the Windsor 6000 and it started up fine. Vista popped up the info tab showing the new processor was recognized, and I went on installing the rest of the business software.

Rating + 1 Confirming Incompatible Combo

Pros: I have built a dozen systems with Biostar motherboards. I particularly like those with Nvidia graphics because of the troublefree Linux support.

Cons: I bought a different Motherboard -- the Biostar MCP6P-M2 -- to go with this
same Athlon X2 AM2 processor. And it is ALSO incompatible, because the MoBo
only supports 95W and under processors. I write this in hopes that other customers will not get bitten by this flat our error on Newegg's part.

Rating + 5 2nd Review

Pros: Still working great after a week using an AMD ATHLON x2 6000+ (125Watt) Windsor
Worked right out of the box as supplied with a combo package.
No Bios upgrade required.
Newegg has the combo specs OK

Cons: Would like to buy more combos as the CPU is very cheap.
I am skeptical due to some negative reviews on the compatibility of the combo deal. Other people may have had a different version than I have??
Not too keen on the bios manufacturer.

Other Thoughts: On checking the CPU support for this board. It clearly supports JUST THIS ONE 125Watt CPU and no others.
As far as a bios update, it is only good to accept SPD on hardware devices to provide auto settings for a supported device. It can also provide additional settings for overclocking/underclocking and voltages etc etc.
I would not attempt to OC using this processor as it may well exceed the 125Watt max setting for this board.
This combo is for average computer users, don't expect it to provide top of the line gaming.
After all, you only get what you pay for.

Rating + 5 One thing to remember

Pros: Great board for the price. I bought in combo with AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ Windsor 3.0GHz, and OCZ 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR2 1066. So the combo discount made it all the better board fro the price. I bought 3 for my office, so I wasn't seeking performance, just something good enough that I won't hear complaints about how slow the computers are 6 months from now.

Cons: You will read on these forums that this board will not handle a 125W CPU. I'm not the smartest guy in the world when it comes to this, but I can tell you for a fact that they can because I am running it in 3 machines. Why do I write this as a con you say? Because I was sold the combo from newegg with a 125W CPU and that won't make this work out of the box. You have to flash a bios update. Luckily I had another AMD machine in the office and I borrowed the CPU from that to get it to boot just long enough to flash the bios. It was a long and painful process of swapping chips, but i will work for at least one 125W CPU mentioned earlier.

Other Thoughts: The bios update was really annoying, and in truth, it is probably Biostars fault that they put out a board that advertises in the quickstart guide that it will work with 125W Athlon (but not w/ Phenom i guess) when it won't without a bios update. Wait until it actually does what you say it does before you put it in a package and force your customers to do your work for you! Fortunately Biostar saved themselves with the fastest turnaround for service I have ever seen. They offered to ship me a bios chip within 10 minutes of my request for support. I think that if I hadn't received that kind of turnaround for support, I would have thrashed this board in the review.

Rating + 3 Decent board, needs bios upgrade

Pros: Functional board, good deal for its price.

Cons: As shipped, the board is *not* compatible with the 125W Athlon 64 X2 processor. If you purchase the combo pack, make sure you have a <= 95W processor available, so you can plug that in and flash the bios to support 125W processors.

Other Thoughts: A warning would be nice, there was a moment of panic when I assembled my combo kit and it said "**** you, this processor doesn't make me happy shiny!"

Rating + 1 combo is not compatible

Pros: Good deal offered by newegg, normally magnificent deals.

Cons: Board is not compatible with the CPU newegg, seems like you would at least check your specs before assembling a combo set. The board will not support a cpu over 95w. The 6000+ is a 145w cpu. So now I have a board that cannot fire up the cpu. Great job guys. Might as well bundle xbox 360 console units with ps3 games.

Other Thoughts: Just an obvious bonehead move on all fronts. Newegg should know, board manuf. should list the limitation, and I should have questioned why the deal looked too good to be true.

Pros: Price was right. Bought with processor combo.
Supports AMD 64x2 6000+ 3.0Ghz at 125Watt with no problems.
Ample sata and usb headers

Cons: None for the price

Other Thoughts: Some think that it does not support a 125 Watt processor but the above is listed as per manufacturer's cpu specs.
No one should buy unless checking the manufacturer's specs first as New Egg is good enough to give you the link to check it out yourself.

Rating + 5 This one is for you!

Pros: Straight out of the box this board ROCKS! 3.8 video rating on vista. For onboard video that is great. Don't believe the doom and gloom nay sayers in the other reviews. If you're using this board, as intented, it is ....well Excellent!

Cons: Only 1. Needs 1 more 3 pin power supply for a case fan. But, a molex to 3to4 pin adapter does the same thing for only about $1.50.

Other Thoughts: I looked for 3 weeks to make sure that I bought the right board, the right processor, the right this n that. The reviews scared me. Horror stories about everything I wanted to buy. I have been building my own personal systems for 15 years now. This is my first order from NewEgg, gotta say all the reviews were making me think every product on the site was defective. NOT true! Most of the bad reviews are from people who want to overclock a system to make it do more than it is made to do. I say to thoughs persons - If you want a processor to run at 3.0ghz then don't by the one marked 2.6ghz. Then complain about how your board crashed, you wasted good money, processor is junk. You are just showing your ignorance! Thanks

Rating + 4 Great for the price.

Pros: What can I say. If you're looking at this board then you are probably putting together a low-mid machine and attempting to get as much out of your money as you can. In this respect this is a pretty hot motherboard. It covers all your basics: AMD lot that can support their Phenom processor, Fairly speedy DDR2 ram slots that have pretty good voltage timing capabilities, couple extra PCI slots for whatever random cards you may need and if you aren't huge into gaming a fairly run-of-the-mill onboard graphics chip that will get you through your day.

Cons: That being said, it is a budget board. You are limited to 2 ram slots, the first PCI slot is almost guarenteed to be blocked by whatever video card you happen to install as all new vid cards seem to be huge. There is a lack of 3 pin fan power supplies on the board if you are a fan nut. Finally (and perhaps this boards biggest flaw) there is a voltage restriction on CPUs. Remember to check how much voltage your CPU is rated for (95w is tops for this board) because it might not work with this board even if it is AM2+ compatible.

Other Thoughts: Despite the limitations of this board its a great entry level mobo if you are looking to put together a system that isn't bleeding edge but can handle today's hardware requirements. The only thing that truly sucks is the 95w limitation on the processor as the socket supports chips the board can't run.

Rating + 5 Great Product

Pros: This motherboard has a great low-profile design, and accommodated everything without a hitch. Haven't utilized the overclocking features yet, but the BIOS has an integrated OC-specific menu geared directly to enthusiasts. Paired this with a 7750 Black and it screams. It even comes with a SATA-MOLEX adapter, geared towards people doing budget builds with legacy equipment.

Cons: Biostar could have soldered an extra 3-pin fan slot into this board without a fuss, but most OEM fans come with power options so this doesn't matter.

Other Thoughts: Shipping was ungodly fast, it came within 2-days on the standard 3-day shipping. Retailers should follow Newegg's distribution model. I ordered from them years ago and the service has apparently gotten even better.

Rating + 5 Surprisingly good

Pros: Surprisingly high amount of overclocking features. I've got a 4050e in mine, and it OCed it with ease to 2.8ghz with no extra voltage. You can adjust memory timings and also voltages for the CPU, DDR2, HT-link, and chipset. Another very nice bonus is the ability to overclock the IGP--I'm running mine at 600mhz instead of the stock 350mhz. It makes a significant difference.

Cons: UPS beat the heck out of the box--it was smashed in about 2 inches on one side. Fortunately, the board inside was unharmed. I know people say that's what the box is for, but does it have to look like someone kicked my box all the way to the doorstep?

As for the board, the passively cooled "northbridge" can get scalding hot. I put a fan on mine just to be safe, especially since I'm overclocking.

Only 2 DIMM slots, so plan accordingly!

Other Thoughts: I bought mine from newegg as an Open Box purchase. I only got the board, but the price was hard to beat!

Specs are: A760G-M2+, 2GB DDR2-800 (single channel), 4080e running @ 2.6ghz, SATA2 HDD, and a sad 300W PSU.

Once I overclocked some things (especially the IGP), games play surprisingly well. Portal at 1024 x 768 with medium/high settings manages to hold in the 30-40fps area for most of the time. If it means anything to you, Vista Ultimate SP2 scores: 5.2, 4.9, 3.2, 3.7, 5.9.
Integrated graphics have come a long way!

Pros: Biostar is cheap and relatively reliable. Some webhosting companies use biostar desktop boards for lowend server.

Cons: Rebate is a scam. Neither me nor my friend received our rebate on a higher end Biostar mother board(with HDMI).
Will never buy biostar with rebate.

Pros: Easy to assemble.
Good clear big diagram of parts and connectors on board.
Memory slots not too tight for installing memory like some others. USB connectors for front of case USB. Stable so far. 4 eggs because installed for less than one week. No crashes yet.

Cons: Only one IDE port.
Have not found overclocking settings in bios.
Bios setup more confusing than Award Bios.
No cable or back of case port for old type printer cable. Just USB or find your own cable to mount on motherboard.

Note: processors 95 Watts or less only.

Other Thoughts: Be aware. No available video driver anywhere for on-board video with ms windblows 2000. So in the ms operating system world, only XP or higher with on-board video. Did not try a video card.

For XP, on-board video driver installs with XP.
Biostar USA website very slow and home page has no link to AM2 or AM2+ motherboards. You might not find the page for this MB if you don't luck into it. Try Biostar Taiwan or Europe. Many Biostar home pages, even for Taiwan or Europe, require "Flash" so if Flash is not installed, your browser IE or Firefox will crash. MB drivers are on the CD provided. If you need drivers, search for a page inside the site with driver download . If you need to download drivers, Taiwan or Europe are faster than Biostar Usa.

Cap supposedly protecting CPU socket was not on this new unopened board.

Rating + 5 I really like this board!

Pros: Easy setup. Nice color coded layout. Has most onboard features (LAN, External USB, Video, both VGA and DVI, Sound, and still has PS/2 connectors). Micro ATX (personal preference). Six SATA channels for lots of devices. Has some nice hardware monitor utilities. Documentation is pretty good. Price is great.

Cons: Micro ATX may not have enough expansion slots for some people. Doesn't have firewire or external SATA.

Other Thoughts: I had this board up and running in about 15 minutes. All drivers worked with Server 2008. BIOS is easy to use, but I don't do any overclocking so I can't say anything about that. Also, this seems to apply for most any brand of motherboard now; it has lpt and serial headers, but no cables. I have a serial device that I still use, but I can't find the cables. Had to buy a serial expansion card.

Rating + 5 An update: So far, so good.

Pros: Inexpensive, simple, compact. Worked right out of the box. BIOS upgrades available from Biostar and easy to install. Can run Phenom II x 4 CPUs, but not the 125W ones. Supports SATA 2.

Cons: Layout makes second PCI slot useless. AMI BIOS is poorly designed.

Other Thoughts: Been running two of these boards for a couple months now. Very stable with AMD Athlon 5000+ 65W and AMD BE-2400 45W CPUs. No problems with XP 64-bit OS. (It's better than Vista, IMO) Have updated the BIOS twice from the Biostar website. Current one dated 05/15/09.

Remember that this is a budget mobo. Just two memory slots, 1 IDE connector, etc. Works fine for what it was designed for. Only supports 95W Phenom II's. I have not encountered the memory interleave problem mentioned by other users.

Rating + 1 Bios

Pros: Works quite well right up to Widows Xp, Anything else after that Nope..

Cons: This is not New Eggs Problem but rather Biostar for not having a vista ready bios. For now I will run this machine with XP Pro. Since that is all that can be done with this mother board untill BioStar gets an updated Bios out that is Vista Compliant

Other Thoughts: Low end budget Mother Board. You get what you pay for. This is my first shot at AMD in years, Knew I should have stayed with Intel

Rating + 1 BIOS Error and Known Limits

Pros: Small size, price, solid capacitors where they matter most, power efficient design, gigabit ethernet

Cons: Like others mine displays "Bank Interleave requested but not enabled" even if the bios feature isn't enabled, and it stops without booting displaying the message "Too many cold reset due BIOS POST" which is a show-stopper. Passive northbridge 'sink seems inadequate, runs quite hot. Budgetized CPU VRM subcircuit really does limit the board to low powered processors, not just the bios, it is simply built for low end office machine type uses even though it has the basic o'c options but it doesn't seem stable with a same 40W CPU and DD2-800 memory, same PSU et al parts that work in another motherboard so I would forget about o'c this board. Like others I dislike the AMI bios setup, it's too cluttered with more than one menu for related settings. Only 2 memory slots and CPU socket is up a little too high, makes cable routing difficult with tower heatsinks in some mATX cases. Only 1 PATA channel, but I suppose most people won't need more than one. ATI chipset driver bloated & buggy.

Other Thoughts: For those who get it to work I'm sure it's a good value for a basic system, but I suspect the lack of bios revision support Biostar has shown thus far is an indicator of why people are having problems.

Rating + 5 Great Product

Pros: I love this little board, cheap, tons of SATA, great layout. I bought 3 of them so far to build systems with.

Cons: Well... I really wish Newegg would contact the people that bought this as a combo with the 125W processor. I have built at least 15 systems in the last couple years and I am careful... but I bought one on Newegg's integrity. Now I can't seem to find a microATX that supports the processor.. I have a microATX case for this system. Try to explain that to your customer if you are a system builder.

Other Thoughts: If you need a fast, stable, small board to run UP TO A 95W PROCESSOR this is a great buy. I will buy another while they last and after I sell the spare one I have that won't run a phenom 125W.

Pros: fired up right out of box, good combo with AMD 4850e.

Cons: "windows cannot find network hardware" (no internet). PCI-slots too close together. Video Card will not play BASIC screen savers on vista business (not Direct3D compatible)

Other Thoughts: Not the best experiece. First PC build (mATX case, AMD 4850e, biostar a760g MB, 320 GB HD, 4GB of dual-channel ram, HD monitor). This was only thing bad out of all components.

Rating + 5 Works Reasonably Well

Pros: A motherboard that works without a fuss, inexpensive and meet my needs (except the DVI).

Cons: DVI not work with my Monitor. Found an article in Biostar's website stating that the DVI works with pure DVI device, not DVI-D. (why they didn't mention in the product spec?)

Other Thoughts: I think this Mobo i quite new and my SpeedFan detected the Core Temp -78 Celsius. Still trying to find info how to fix it.

Pros: Good price.

Cons: Combo'd with a CPU that it doesn't support.

Other Thoughts: Ordered as a combo with a Phenom 9850 Black Edition CPU, but can't use them together since the CPU is 125W and the motherboard doesn't support any CPU over 95W, which isn't mentioned in any easily visible place. Make sure to double check these things when ordering combos.

Pros: Works with my Athlon 64 X2 6400 (3.2ghz) processor, in order to make it work you have to press F10 every time the "CPU Power is over 95w" message, and it will work perfectly.

Rating + 3 Bank Interleaving

Pros: low power, low budget, quick shipping

Cons: uses AMI bios, the PCI-E 1x slot is above the X16 slot which means with any graphics card installed you can only access one of the 2 PCI standard slots, not a very good design.

Other Thoughts: Anyone else with this mobo getting "Bank interleaving requested but not enabled" on post? the only solution given on tech forums is to put your ram in slots 1 and 3 or 2 and 4.....but this mobo only has slots 1 and 2 to chose from...so that solution doesn't work....anyone else get this problem?

Rating + 2 You get what you pay for

Pros: Cheap $$$, has the basics covered

Cons: Northbridge is too far down on the board so they swapped the expansion slots putting the VGA PCI Express 16 slot in position 2 which makes basically any card you put in there cover the first PCI slot, which means you only get 1 pci total...pretty lame imo...not really an issue for me seeing as i don't even need a pci slot, just bad design.

also ran into an error on post "Bank interleave requested but not enabled" that wouldn't pass post unless i pulled out my Graphics card and used the onboard video...from what ive gathered the issue is related to the RAM but isn't an issue if i remove the VGA...still working on that... AMI BIOS is terrible, will never buy a mobo with AMI BIOS ever again, AWARD BIOS is win...

Only 1 IDE port, which i guess is standard but i have 2 IDE hard drives and 2 Optical Drives i wanted to use on this build...no dice, had to settle on 1 HDD and 1 DVD drive. would be nice if the floppy port on the bottom was an extra IDE port, floppy was outdated a decade

Other Thoughts: as usual Newegg had my entire build delivered in 2 days with most of the items free shipping. Newegg4Life

Rating + 5 Just Works

Pros: This is a great low-power consumption board that just works. It is small, yet contains all the features I need (Gig-E LAN and basic audio). The on-board video is the best that I've ever experienced (usually, I break down and get a video card, but I don't have to for this system -- I don't have much time to play games so that is not a concern for me).

Cons: Only one system fan header (my case has two system fans). Not worth demoting by an egg since this is a Micro-ATX board.

Pros: Worked flawlessly from the start. Building a WHS. Great features for the price. Got this in a bundle with an AMD 4850 processor. Great deal. Install went perfectly.

Cons: Only con is not limited to Biostar. The danged backplate is so flimsy, but they all are that way

Other Thoughts: I've never purchased a micro ATX with the built in video before. I was very very impressed with the value for the money. Board and processor for a hundred bucks!!!!! Way to go Newegg!!!!

Pros: Decent layout. Everything works. Supports up to 8G memory, which is 5G more than my 32-bit OS will recognize. Easy to install. Inexpensive. BIOSTAR website easy to navigate.

Cons: AMI BIOS not as easy to use as AWARD. Can only use 1 PCI slot due to width of graphics card

Other Thoughts: Board has performed well so far. Will update in future if things go south.

Rating + 4 Most Power-efficient mATX I've tested

Pros: Low power consumption. 31Wt idle with 45Wt x2 & 120wt 80+ PSU & ASUS DVDRW & WD 1TB GP. (for experiment) Now running smooth 45Wt x2 5050 with 330Wt Seasonic 4Gb ddr800 38Wt idle and most surprising can even play 1080P descent. 1080i is perfect @ 30% CPU load and 75Wt (Windows 7). Very good sound from front connected headphone out (and note that I'm spoiled audiofile and do not tolerate noise & distortion).

Cons: No optical/coax sound output.
If you are not trying to build low power PC then pay a little more for 780G with full HD. 780G has digital output but consumes 10Wt more then this one.

Other Thoughts: It is silly to complain that board doesn't hold 95-125Wt CPU. May be it's wrong that they did not put "BIG RED WARNING" about limitations but come on! Give them a break. Especially thouse with high understanding of technology. Plese do your homework! This chipset designed for LOW power & LOW budget PC builds.

Rating + 1 Completely and totally misleading...

Pros: Good layout, plenty of connectors, extremely sturdy PCB.

Cons: The manufacturer maintains that the CPU support list is up to date and accurate, and yet the most important detail, that the board does not support CPU's needing more than 95w is mentioned NOWHERE. Not in the manual, quick install guide, or online. In fact, the quick install guide states that CPU's up to 125w are supported, but they are not.

Other Thoughts: The CPU is question is an AMD Athlon X2 6400+ (3.2ghz, 125 watts)

Rating + 5 Board and Newegg Rocks!

Pros: This board is small and fits right where I need it to be. It is rock solid with no setup issues. It may not overclock but if I need that I would have bought a higher end board.

Cons: Only two memory slots.

Other Thoughts: This is a very good, solid all around motherboard. For light gaming pair it with a higher end cpu and you will have no problems.
