Amazing board
Pros: Installed windows 7 in 25 minutes. Since then it has been rendering video at 100% cpu about 12 hours a day for the last 7 days. No crashes or complaining for a reboot. Truly amazing for the cost. Wish i would have purchased 2 of them.
Cons: Wish it had gigabit nic. Need to get the next model up to get that. My fault and not the boards for not doing the research.

Rock Solid
Pros: Rock solid motherboard, I own three of these and have a great experience from each install. I use this board to do upgrades to our businesses eMachine units (never buy that junk). I deploy each unit with the Q8200 CPU and 2GB memory. The board has great features and runs sound at normal clock speeds.
Cons: Would love more detail on the hardware monitoring.
Other Thoughts: Great board, actually just got my third one, scheduled for delivery today.

HTPC
Pros: This board gave me all I needed at a good price. The board was easy to install and it worked. Video slot does not block SATA connector - problem on many boards.
Cons: None so far.
Other Thoughts: This is my 2nd ASROCK board - and I am becoming a fan. So far they have been good products.

Nearly scared
Pros: Using for a basic folding@home system.
The motherboard wouldn't post, no matter what I tried.
I moved the sole stick of RAM into the second DIMM slot, and it works, now. With 2 sticks, it works. With one stick, it needs to be in slot 2.
Cons: Scared me for a long time, until I figured what was causing it to not post.
Other Thoughts: ASRock could of stated that in the manual.

Solid, Budget Board
Pros: RAM upgradable to 8 GB. No issues at all during build and start-up.
Cons: Outdated Ethernet, but I'm running it wireless anyway.
Other Thoughts: I wanted a tower to attach to the new bedroom TV but I didn't want to blow a lot of cash. This board worked out well. I'm a loyal Gigabyte builder, but I could not pass up 8 GB RAM capability for the price. This is the second of two ASRock boards that I've had success with.

Good board, has fair share of pros and cons
Pros: Price! Great price, with great features to boot for said price. up to 1600 FSB, support for 64 bit, and the 45 nm chips. You can overclock decently with this board, I got a 2.5 ghz e5200 up to 3.5 ghz.
Cons: I have an hd4850 ati radeon card in the pci-e slot, and a soundblaster 7.1 card in the farthest down pci slot, this leaves me with zero available slots because the video card is in the way. You could say this is a drawback of the video card, but I think were the pci-e slot on the bottom, it would have made things easier. Also, no ability to change the Vcore, so overclocking is limited in that aspect. The Instant On software bundled with the board sounds promising (Boot your computer in 10 seconds!) but in reality is just a piece of junk. Yes, technically it boots your computer in 10 seconds, but every time you shut it down it has to a.) Shut down b.) Restart and boot normally c.) Shutdown again. Very annoying.
Other Thoughts: The overclocking / hardware monitoring software bundled isn't bad if you're new to all those aspects.

Good bang for your buck
Pros: I purchased this along with a pentium dual core e5200 and ocz sli 2x2gb ram pc26400 and am very happy. The board worked perfect and had no problems booting up and using jumper overclock running 3.30ghz out the box. Perfect for Windows 7 64bit. Processor is running at 39c so i know i can do more but am happy with this setup.
Cons: Nothing yet i am very satisfied

ASRock G31M-S LGA 775 Intel G31 Micro ATX
Pros: Very stable board . Basic board good for a media center
Cons: Basic features just 100 network card got to watch this , warranty states that any returns go thru vender. I noticed newegg wanted to take out a 1 or 2 years warrenty with them for a extra cost .

Works great!
Pros: lots of ports, good price, seems to work well, works with Celeron dual core CPUs too
Cons: smell out of the box nearly knocks you out, but almost all mobos are like that - no biggie
Other Thoughts: used in a customer computer new build. customer satisfied, so am I.

Finicky BIOS settings, disappointing overall.
Pros: Cheap, above average range of features.
Cons: Using memory on the ASRock qualified vendor list, and an Intel C2D CPU, this board would not properly recognize the memory settings by itself. It ran just fine, but saw the 800FSB as 667FSB, and probably the timings were wrong.
I changed the memory speed and timings manually to their recommended values, and the system would fail to boot/reboot about 2 in 3 times. It would sleep and not wake up, etc. When it booted, it showed the right memory settings, but a diagnostic card showed BIOS codes where it was trying to get out of some sort of power state. Flashing the BIOS had no effect, and I systematically went through the settings until I found a combination of power settings and memory timings that seemed to work. It has been stable for two weeks afterwards, but I can't really trust it now.
All the other system components I've tested and they're working fine, so it's not anything but the motherboard.
ASRock needs to figure this out and release a better BIOS, or something.
Other Thoughts: I build computers as a side job, and ASRock has been a good budget choice up until now, at least for the AMD CPUs. Their parent company, ASUS, has been consistently good to me.
I'm on to other manufacturers now. ASRock was good for three builds for me, but I'm not going to take any more chances on this happening again.

Still going strong after six months
Pros: I reviewed this after getting it about six months back, it still works great. I have a E2200 overclocked to 2.53GHz with 667 HyperX Kingston overclocked to 960MHz! No voltage adjustments but still good for overclocking to an extent.
Cons: finally got some of these. The onboard video is really bad, but I will put a 4670 in there soon. Hopefully that will also fix the problem of how how the northbridge gets! I have burned myself on the heatsink many times after playing STALKER SoC. the southbridge also gets extremely hot, the heatsink on it is pretty pathetic. onboard audio is junk but I have a SB Audigy. expect using custom fans on the northbridge if where you use it is over 80 degrees, or if you game on the onboard graphics.

sweet
Pros: Got this as an open box; it was the cheapest LGA775 motherboard on newegg. Feels pretty sturdy and everything booted up on the first try. Fantastic amount of compatibility and BIOS adjustments compared to my old dell 8400 mobo! The I/O shield was missing, but hey, more airflow! This should be fairly future proof, I'm going to try in the near future to get a celeron dual core or something to replace my hot and slow P4 3.4. For a budget board this has pretty good overclocking features, which I've missed since my good old abit BH6 back in the day. Haven't tried the included software yet but it seems asrock bundled some overclocking tools / monitoring programs in here as well.
Cons: Small stuff: only one chassis fan header, only one PATA connector. No voltage adjustments for vcore, so my oc potential with a P4 is severely limited, but that's really asking a lot out of a budget board. 45nm intels go pretty high on stock volts.
Other Thoughts: I just wanted to get the last vestiges of dell out of my current cobbled-together setup, that being my old motherboard, which had leaking caps to boot :P. I used another case as dell (no surprise) used a proprietary screw layout on theirs. Sheesh. Asrock seems to be the value line of asus motherboards, which have a good rep for quality as well. I'm impressed for under thirty ducats.

A good value
Pros: Nice quality board for this price range. A Q8200, 4GB G.SKILL 1066, and this board make for a very nice system. XP 64 and Windows 7 x64 installed without a hitch and run smooth and stable. 8GB RAM capability a plus- now if only one could get 4GB RAM sticks cheaply.
Cons: None so far
Other Thoughts: Like others, running at stock speeds and everything is perfect.

Great budget mobo
Pros: Basis for HTPC with a Celeron E1400, 2GB of GSkill DDR2-800, and 9600GT. Plugged everything in and fired it up! Worked right away with only minimal BIOS changes. Took less than 30 minute to install XP. Boots fast, almost too fast, had to reset a few times to see whether DEL or a function key to enter BIOS; btw, it's the F2. This is my third ASRock mobo over the past few years and I have no issues with either of them. Great budget board and recommend this mobo!
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: Running everything at stock speeds, no oc'ing. Like other ASRock builds, this is a stable board with more than enough features for an HTPC, office, or general use machine and I expect to get several years use out o this mobo. Can't beat the price, either! Nice job ASRock!

love these boards
Pros: these are fantastic low priced boards. i have used these in over 25 builds and not once had a problem or a bad board yet. honestly anyone with issues with these in not sure how...
durable, great for mild overclocking but they are cheap boards..what do you expect?
nice ram voltages up to just over 2.2v to handle any ram i have used.
so easy to set up...
been using a e5200 in most of my low budget builds and every time it clocks them to 3.33 @ 1066 fsb with only a simple swap of a jumper to the 1066 setting and anything else on auto, i overclock dfi mobo's all the time but this is so easy for low priced builds
Cons: honestly i have not found any in over 25 used. i have not had a single problem anyone has listed including audio issues.
even though i know i said it was cheap a couple more voltage options would be nice for the cpu
Other Thoughts: this is a fantastic low budget board and simply add a decent gpu like a 4850 or better to eliminate the x3100 from the equation and you have a awesome 350$ machine with the right parts..

Good board
Pros: 8GB Max RAM, easy to use full featured BIOS, software control
Cons: Doesn't like the card reader in my case, causes it to hang sometimes. I switched the ports around on the board for the USB and while it works better, it still hangs. Probably the card reader's problem, but not sure why it would cause it to hang. And as others have mentioned, no PCI-E 2.0. Memory slots are kind of compressed together, too. Makes it hard to use sticks with heatsinks attached, but nonetheless possible.

Good for the price
Pros: Works as expected, Easy to use Bios. After figuring out the FSB jumpers, this board overclocks pretty easily! Can't comment on the durability yet, but the flexing it got from installing those stupid 775 cooler pushpins didn't kill it. Overall, seems like a good board for the money.
Cons: Not PCI-E2.0, but I knew that going in, so not really a con.
Other Thoughts: Won't clock my e4300 past 2.8ghz, but as that's been the case even with better mobo/ram combinations, i think I just lost the roll on this cpu, as my other e4300 hits 3.4 on air with slight voltage bump.

Its a microATX...
Pros: Great MicroATX board.
- Overclocks well - Runs at a decent temperature - Boots fast. - Very Stable - Bios has 4 user settings, and a safety reset if you fail to post
Cons: - BIOS may be hard to understand for novice users - Jumpers for FSB are difficult to change if you have large hands and no teasers. (not enough to lose an egg)
Other Thoughts: Some people state that it needs more RAM slots... CMON! its a microATX, its a small form factor, it can only hold 2 slots.
Also for those people complaining about overclocking... I have a 1.8ghz celeron with 800fsb running at 1066 fsb, and 3ghz.
Don't knock a product if you lack the tech knowledge of a poorley educated wildabeast.

Decent Board
Pros: Pretty solid board. Needed one that supported DDR2 800 RAM and had a decent FSB. This was the best one I could find for my price range so I guess it's ok.
Cons: Spent what little money I had on this board to have the integrated sound on it be completely useless. I have had Realtek Audio before, but nothing this bad. I couldn't afford to send it back to newegg for a different one, but newegg did offer me a small rebate on a sound card if I decide to get one.
Other Thoughts: Everything on the board works well except the integrated sound card. So I give this 3/5 eggs

Good cheap board
Pros: Able to do minor overclocking through AMD's overclocking utility. Great price and a solid micro board.
Cons: You can't do much with this bios as toward overclocking. You get what you pay for. I can't complain as 10% overclocking from a cheap board isn't that big a con.
Other Thoughts: I was able to get an Intel core 2 duo e6600 from 2.4 to 2.65mhz stable. Memory has to be set in bios to 2.02 volts if you do not use AMD's OverClocking utility or your memory will come up as 5.6 in Vista score. After raising my 2x2GB GSkill PC2 6400 memory's voltage the Vista score hit the max 5.9 rating.

Good cheap motherboard
Pros: Low price, all the basics are there and working. I used one of these to upgrade my HTPC connecting to a 52 inch LCD TV in my living room, the small board size really worked out well for the HTPC case. With 4GB RAM, a Pentium Dual Core E5200, a Nvidia 9800GT, Vista 64 bit and a Blue Ray drive, I got all my living room entertainment center needs covered.
Cons: Could use more RAM slots, not a tweaker's board
Other Thoughts: Really can't complain for the price of the board, but this board is not really suitable for over clocking or anything like that. For my use as a HTPC, I use stock speed on my CPU, RAM, and all other components, the system is stable and fast.

Pros: Great board. Smooth, fast, and STABLE!
Cons: OC'ing from 800 to 1600 was a bit unclear. Jumpers are named weird.
Other Thoughts: Good board, weird OC'ing, but great support.

Not a very good board
Pros: Worked pretty well out of the box. BIOS is complete **** but I knew that going in. Runs fast.
Cons: Sound card on the board I received was either faulty or the onboard sound card is horribly bad. Same with the Ethernet connection that is on the board, either faulty or just sub par. Either way I can't afford to return it to newegg so I am forced to buy a new Ethernet card and sound card.

Good budget board
Pros: It still works after around a month of usage. Everything is stable, though I'm not over-clocking anything.
Cons: The manual just describes the connections of the motherboard and nothing about BIOS settings. Fortunately, ASRock has a more in-depth manual on their website describing the BIOS options.
"Auto" settings in BIOS don't always select the best settings.
Front-panel audio is not automatically enabled. It can only be enabled with a setting in the audio driver that needs to be installed and a setting in BIOS. The manual describes how to do this on pages 17 and 18.
Other Thoughts: This was my second ASRock micro-ATX motherboard and both have been working well.
The power-on light on my case has a 3-pin socket with the middle empty, while the motherboard has a 2-pin plug. I don't know who to blame for the mismatch. I simply snipped the 3-pin socket in half on the case wire to fit it into the plugs of the motherboard.
This is running a Pentium Dual Core E5200 with 4GB of DDR800 memory and Vista Home Premium 64-bit.

May be Unlucky but be carefull
Pros: Quad Core Support. Easy setup.
And of course, it's NewEgg shopping and shipping satisfaction
Cons: Doesn't shut down. Auto-starts after the shutdown.
No support from Asrock. They just point you to the retailer (Newegg in this case)
Other Thoughts: As it has worked fine for most of the reviewers, I consider myself unlucky. Asrock might be good but lack of support and forum discussions is a concern. I won't buy another piece though, it's risky

Good board for the price
Pros: Budget, good board. It's like any other board out there. My buddy bought one awhile back, and i helped him put it together. This was the motherboard i was planning to get as soon as the price drops, but it never did. Clearly has enough room for those Nvidia 9-series/GTX card or the ATI HDx.
Cons: I don't see how the Instant-Boot is really a factor. If your OS is Vista, it's still laggy once it recovers from it's Hibernation. If it's XP, it runs very smooth and boots up like it's already been warmed up. The BIOS is very weak, not much options, but I already knew what I was in store for. Before you considered buying this motherboard, you can download the .PDF manual for this board straight from the ASRock website so you can see how the layout of the BIOS and see what it has to offer before you buy it. Just a heads up.
Other Thoughts: There was absolutely no problems getting the audio to work with SP3 as another user suggested, though I questioned if he even knows how to get the driver to install correctly given his screen name. I'm dual-booting with both Vista64 & XP. Sound, chipset drivers, LAN, and everything is working accordingly in both OS. Going to try Leopard OSX 10.5 as soon as i get a better processor.

great cheap board
Pros: This board really works great!!! Hooked everything up turned it on then set the memory specs in the bios like the timing and such, 5-5-5-15 and voltage 1.8 for the gskill Im using. Very easy to do, not confusing at all for even a begginer like me. Then downloaded op system then downloaded drivers from the disk that came with it and ran great without any hickups at all. Newegg is the best!!!!
Cons: None for such a low end board, much better than expected
Other Thoughts: I usually dont write reviews but reading everyone elses was a great benefit to me so I felt like returning the favor to let people know that this is the one to get if your looking for a super cheap fast rig with simple functions and just to get you by untill you can build that super computer we all dream about. oc/ed just a little from 2.8 to 3.05 through the bios but havent even tried to go higher yet and havent tried the oc program that comes with the disc either. my system, 4gig gskill ddr2/800, e7400, g31m-s mobo, allied 350w, sata w/d 250gig caviar hard drive and two dvd burners/combo and full atx case hooked up to a 40 inch lcd tv. Price it all at Newegg and I think you will be supprised how cheap you could build a fast system like this. By the way Im not a gammer so I dont have details yet about graphics and stuff on games but would consider getting a graphics card if I played high end games and dont know the compatability with them yet. Hope this info helps in your decisions.

G31M-S
Pros: One review said the onboard sound did not work with XP SP3, I had no problems at all with that. I installed XP Pro with SP3 slipstreamed, then ran the ASRock setup disk, everything went off without a hitch. Fast board, has PCIE2 slot. I put in a GeForce 9800 GT card with room to spare. E8400 is one mean CPU in this board.
Cons: Memory slots are a bit close together.
Other Thoughts: Most people do not need or want 1394 on a gaming board, so no issues there.

A word of caution -- ASRock G31M-S
Pros: Good Board for the money spent, Does Boot fast even without the instant Boot software. BUT see Cons Below Also great Newegg customer support... as usual! They are dealing with my issues in a great and speedy way!
Cons: To me this is a major con... The onboard Sound Does NOT WORK with SP3! After Downloading and trying drivers from both the ASRock site and Realtek (and flashing the BIOS... could not believe a new MB required this), Still no sound. Tried to contact Asrock tech support... they are closed till Feb 1. Finally after jumping thru many hoops I found out just uninstall SP3 and sound will work and it does. ASRock knows about the SP3 issue and it would be nice to post this info in the motherboards description AND would be nice if Newegg would too... Newegg is closed for the weekend so I can not notify them on this bit of info..yet Blame this on the Realtek Audio chip but still a new mb not working with Sp3 ? What gives?
Other Thoughts: Even though ASRock tells you to upgrade the bios to use the 4 sec instant boot software on their website... To me the fact that you are FORCED to flash a BIOS on a new Motherboard to get a included program to work I find this a negative! The Board does boot to windows very fast, so if it wasn't flashed to try and fix the sound issue, I would just say forget the 4 sec boot junk. First and last Asrock MB I will ever use ... ASRock and Asus have really gone down hill... IMHO .... bad taste left with me

ASRock g31
Pros: Using this with a Pentium Dual E2200 and it works great. replaced a Biostar P4M80-M4. It is better in every way.
Cons: No onboard 1394 headers? none really.
Other Thoughts: By default it set my E2200 to 2.93GHz..kinda weird

Cheap and Works
Pros: The motherboard worked perfectly upon assembly. Cheap and Good for the price. Asus quality (considering AsRock is a subsidiary) for cheap I guess. It just works and that's pretty much you should be looking for in this price range.
Cons: None.

Inexpensive, supports wide range of older CPUs, overclockable, but should be better
Pros: - Inexpensive, works OK, and was an easy install. - Easy overclocking. 4 year old 3GHz P4 530J came out of the scrap pile and is now running OCed@4GHz.
Cons: - Onboard video "feels" slow, has shimmers in 2D, and is really slow in DX9 3D. Gets a Vista winsat score of 3.4/3D & 3.7/2D. - No gig ethernet only realtek 10/100. - No SPDIF connector(s). - No firewire. - Only one case fan connector. - Probably a fluke, but would not boot with some older G-Skill DDR2-667 memory. Seems to have a preference for DD2-800 or better. - Shoved in a better PCIe videocard and it works, but without any of the reasurances of being able to disable the onboard video via bios or jumper.
Other Thoughts: My bad, should have done more homework; was just looking for something quick & cheap to recover some scrapped parts... Got exactly what I paid for but regreet not looking for something with at least a SPDIF connector and 10/100/1000 nic.

Good MicroATX Board for the $$
Pros: Bios is very easy to use. Supports Quad-Core without any Bios flashing. Accepts a variety of processors, so this board can last you a while. Simple design. The PCIe x16 slot dosn't interfere with the PCIe x1 if you're using a graphics card that requires 2 slots.
Cons: None for this price range. It's what you'd expect.
Other Thoughts: Using a Q8200 4GB of ADATA gaming memory 8600GT MSI graphics card
This was to update my current desktop with something that I could game with as well. I swapped the guts within 1 hour and had it running with just a little Bios tweaking for the DDR2 800 memory that I used. With the RAM and Q8200, total was $300 for a system that can get 5.6 on Vista's rating.

ASRock, rocks!
Pros: Wanted a quick replacement motherboard for an old Soyo that croaked. This one I took a chance on. I've owned ASUS boards so decided the 'budget' one might be a good bet. I was right. Picked up some DDR2-800 AData memory to go with it and popped on my used Core2Duo 6600 processor. Booted right up. Ran the included driver CD to install everything that's onboard and it's been humming away with no problems 24/7 since install. I'm very pleased with a simple solution and a simple install. It really couldn't have been any easier.
Cons: The included manual. It's small and the text is a bit tiny to read. You will need it to install your power/reset/HDD connectors to the case though, and to make overclocking changes. But it is accurate and if you have a magnifying glass.. not a problem. If you don't mind waiting for it to boot, takes about 20 seconds from the Power-on to HDD activity for the boot process. Not sure why, but it's been stated in other threads I've read that it's probably the setting of Master/Slave. If it's set to Cable Select, it boots a little faster. Not an issue really as I keep this on 24/7.
Other Thoughts: Installed an EIDE HDD and a DVD burner. It does support SATA and will even boot from a USB device, settable in the BIOS or from the boot screen. A very stable little board. It is little. I can barely find it in the ATX case!
