Great for what it is
Pros: For what it does and was bought for, this little card has worked great! It did wonders for kicking another year of life into my aging eMachine and letting me play the games and run the programs that I have not been able to run for the last 4 years.
Cons: It is only a temporary fix until I build a computer and definitely shows its age. For the price with the rebate, however, it was fully worth the money.
Other Thoughts: I have not seen hide nor hair of the rebate yet and I sent it in in the beginning of August, but I checked the online rebate site and it says approved so I should be seeing it around mid-October to Early November. Will write again if I don't see anything. Other than that the rebate form was a bit too detailed and it is easy to see how someone could miss something on it.

Good, but...
Pros: Good and cheap replacement card for an older AGP system
Cons: This replaced a slower 9600 AIW that died. In MCE 2005, this new card did not keep up with the HD Wonder, but did fine with the 550 Theater Pro card. I ended up using an ATI 9800 pro which worked well with both cards.
Other Thoughts: This card was choppy for HDTV, otherwise worked well.

Great Card
Pros: Everything. This card gives you a huge boost of graphics and fps in most games. This is a great card if you have a old computer.
Cons: Crashes computer while playing games. BUT, the solution to this is simply after installing, go to your catallist control center. After, look for AGP -Off-1x-2x-4x-8x. Change the 8x to a 4x and you should be good.
Btw: Make sure you didnt update the control center to the latest.
Other Thoughts: Its great.

Very Good Card
Pros: I purchased this board for my backup PC to replace a 128K Radeon 9200 as I plan to move to Vista Home Premium on the backup. It works fine under XP Pro and the Vista Upgrade Advisor test was satisfactory for Aero whereas it was not with the 9200.
Cons: The rebate form was the most convoluted I have ever experienced.
Other Thoughts: I am very pleased with Vista Home Premium and I will get it installed soon on the backup. Just watching the retirement budget.

Cons: none
Other Thoughts: Oh and did I mention its cheap! and has DVI out!

Pros: Great card for the money. It has worked flawlessly since the day of installation. It was a snap to install. IMHO can't go wrong here for the money
Cons: None

Pros: With this video card, I doubled the amount of video RAM I have, and it didn't increase the temperature of my computer at all.
Cons: See "other thoughts"
Other Thoughts: I didn't want to put this under "cons" because the problem described here might have been because of my computer and not the video card itself. I had a really difficult time installing the driver for this. First, I tried the driver from Sapphire's website (which was a little more recent than the one on the CD), and it would start to install but then would hang and not complete installation. The same thing would happen when I tried to install from the CD. After about an hour of trying different things out, I finally got it to install when I tried installing while in Safe Mode. But, like I said, I have some programms running in normal mode that don't run in Safe Mode, so that might have been the problem and not the card itself. In any event, I would recommend installing the driver from Safe Mode just to be safe...no pun intended.

Radeon 9600XT
Pros: Had a 9600 previously with 128 Meg memory and this one is much smoother when displaying dense graphics. Probably due to the higher speed bus speed and the 256 Meg memory.
Cons: trilinear not fully supported in a couple of games
Other Thoughts: A great price from Newegg on this card (as usual)

A beast
Pros: Got this card when it was still $200 and has been a champ for me ever since. Plays most games on medium settings, newer ones like Oblivion it doesn't fare so well on but if you do some light gaming it's a nice card.
Cons: I have to replace it. You have served me well.
RIP 9600XT 2004-2007

Great Card!!
Pros: Very good card for the money can run doom 3 without any slowdowns once the game gets running, always runs wolfenstein 3d very well too on high settings.
Doom 3 on medium settings.
Cons: None at this time!!
Other Thoughts: Very good card for older cpu, it sucks to know that everything is going to pci exspress now.
lousy updating.

OK Card
Pros: It's an affordable card and pretty much performance is as expected. If you need a basic card or a cheap stand in while you wait to save for a more expensive it's OK.
Cons: Only gets 20frames on WOW medium settings. Definitely not a solid gaming card. My fan started making horrible noises after about a week. I pulled it off and put real (and quiet) cooling on it.
Other Thoughts: The Catalyst software provided is pretty nice to tweak some of the finer settings.

Nice card
Pros: Installed it just fine on an XP machine. Everything ran faster from onboard graphics. Fixed all my crashing problems from the onboard card. Allowed me to play all the newer games I have on near highest settings at 1280X1024 and made everything look much smoother.
Cons: Tried to install one in a windows 2000 pro machine, and after the inital reboot, the hard disk went bad. Had to re-format and reinstall windows!!
Other Thoughts: All in all, an awesome video card for the price. Freshly installed I saw a huge difference in clarity. Can run dual moniters just fine. One playing a game, the other watching a movie and no slow downs. Awesome budget card that when placed in any machine that supports it, gives it some extra power... Thank you NewEgg for the awesome product!

It's not bad
Pros: Excellent graphics on mid-level games, easy driver installation, easy driver update from internet.
Cons: The fan is a bit loud but it's acceptable. However, the thing that annoys me is when I am playing Warcraft, once massive graphic load pops out (such as magic effect or considerably number of unit appear together on the screen), a message pops out and says the card is no longer responding to driver's control. Eventually, I have to restart my computer. It happens very often (about 70% of the time, driver is already updated to the newest version).

So I finally bit
Pros: Quality card, gives my aging P4 some spunk, allows it to play what I have well and new games OK
Cons: Package only has a small composite-svideo plug extra so product offering is mis-stated. Agree with others, rebate seems to be positioned to fail, it got me to buy and I'm no longer particularly hopeful it will happen.
Other Thoughts: Though the product itself is looking good so far (still way early to give it a big thumbs up) not including what is stated hurts future purchases here, and if the rebate falls through that will seal the 'no further' deal.

A pretty decent card
Pros: Considering the price and technology level of this card, it does a good job. The graphics are sharp and it runs pretty well. I followed others advice and downloaded drivers from the manufacturer which worked fine. I bought this to upgrade an old PC to play World of Warcraft and it is good. Can't do bleeding edge graphics levels, but it does handle mid-range level well.
Cons: Occasionally, the card locks up the computer while playing WOW. Sometimes it comes back after 10-20 seconds of waiting, other times i have to hard restart. I think this may be a driver issue, though not sure.
Other Thoughts: Overall a good card for what it is.

Vista drivers work. WooHoo!
Pros: Drivers seem to work well for Media Center with high def etc. Got 3.6 performance rating in Vista Home Premium. Pretty quiet. Slight whirring in my very quiet DVR setup.
Cons: Drivers provide jittery picture with BeyondTV and Fusion HDTV but am still experimenting.
Other Thoughts: Replaced xfx nvidia 6200 after trying to get working vista drivers for two months. AMD/ATI seem ahead at this time. Your experience may vary.

Best card for the price
Pros: Still keeps kicking, i played Doom3 on this on High settings on 1280x1024 and was still getting >30fps on all but the most graphiclly intense areas, played Oblivion on about moderate settings (no shadows, no AA, etc) and was getting about 25-30 at 1280x1024
Cons: Getting a bit dated, its a great card, but for todays market where most monitors and games run native 1280x1024 or above, its not the best.
Other Thoughts: If you have a CRT monitor and dont care about the eye candy HDR or H.264 stuff like that, then get this card. IT draws very little power, run cool and quiet, and has a 500mhz GPU clock.

Decent card with a bad fan
Pros: Brought my Vista performance base score from 1.0 to 3.4 on a Dell Dimension 8300 with 250W power supply.
Cons: Unfortunately the fan quickly developed a loud buzz, so I returned it and bought something else.
Other Thoughts: Not the best match with a Dimension 8300 with a Vista processor subscore of 4.3. Replaced it with an Nvidia 7600 GS with no fan. Good match.

Works fine
Pros: quick install Operates as expected Much better performance than the 32 MB Nvidia it replaced! (which shouldn't be a surprise)
Cons: Drivers on CD not good for XP Sapphire website seems to be designed like a casino; lots of flashing lights and no way out.
Other Thoughts: Horrible fps on drivers that were on disk, took some time to find the driver on the sapphire website, but the card worked just fine after new driver. I don't really game too much, but the card renders movies just fine

Things Look Better
Pros: 256mb card, it's Ati so the software upgrade available for it is good, quiet in my assembly and I'm filtered so I don't worry much about fan failure yet
Cons: slower cheap-o ram, should be less expensive for the age of this thing, where's my DVI adapter??
Other Thoughts: I have yet to test this thing on any software with heavy graphical demands, but I'm in the midst of an operating system reinstall.

Pros: Definately budget performance, not the greatest, but yeh good

good card
Pros: own 2 of these cards, one pro and one XT. They both work well and I know they arent gaming cards, but they will do thru-view desktop mode with my ATI tv wonder pro.. which is nice.
Cons: ati doesnt have very user friendly support in kubuntu linux compared to nvidia.
Other Thoughts: I dont regret buying these cards, but I will probably stick to Nvidia in the future.

Works
Pros: Card was an upgrade from my Radeon 9200. Bought it just to play WOW. It works fine, but still noticeable lag when it rains in the game.
Cons: I think there were some previous reviews about the card locking up and freezing the computer, which I have run into quite a few times. It would just freeze randomly while in gameplay, still haven't figured out why, but it hasn't happened as often as it did the first few days I installed it.

Not bad for lower end...
Pros: It does what you would expect. For those of us in need of an AGP card it's a really good choice.
Cons: Well, the box came with an S-Video to composite adapter and a driver disk. Unfortunately that's it. No S video cable, composite cable or DVI to VGA/D-sub Adapter. Contacted NewEgg but they said I would need to RMA the whole thing. Ugh, not worth a week or more wait for like $15 worth of accessories. Still, little disappointed as I was expecting those extras.
Other Thoughts: Obviously anyone looking at this item isn't looking for a top-end graphics card. If you are, look elsewhere. If you want something to get by with though this will do it. It manages to allow me to use both my 19" Hyundai monitor and 40" Samsung LCD together quite flawlessly.

Good for price
Pros: Great card. Works good for price. Sure, you cant expect 8800GTX performance, but it's still good. Great value. Good shipping on NewEgg's part, except I ordered on a Friday, and it was 5 day shipping when you add in the weekend...my fault though...
Cons: Not the card I ordered *see other thoughts*
Other Thoughts: I ordered this along with 512mb ram to save my computer from a horrible fate of a sledgehammer and a crowbar. I ordered this, and on the box it says 100575l Radeon 9600XT, just like the name. Now, its not such a bad thing. The only difference, is my card is red, has different cooling, and is gddr or gddr2. I wrote a review for the page of the card I ordered, but I can't find that card. In my invoice list, it shows this card. No complaints tho

Pros: Kept up pretty well on most of my older intense games. One of the best "bang for the buck" cards I've seen.

Great card / Great Price
Pros: - 256MB Vid card at an outstanding price - cooling fan built into card - Newegg took care of me
Cons: - AGP... yeah it's not PCI Express but the Motherboard was cheaper because it was AGP
Other Thoughts: I paid extra for delivery by a specific date and the order got delayed. After calling Newegg Customer Service they went ahead and credited the delivery cost. I didn't have to make an issue or anything. As always, Newegg reaffirmed my faith in them and will always recommend them to others.

BIOS Tweaks Fix Problem
Pros: Card is now running stable after below BIOS tweaks. It is fairly quiet and easily handles High Definition TS files.
Cons: For a few months the video was randomly shutting down.
Rebate still has not arrived after four months and three emails.
Other Thoughts: To fix problems I made the following BIOS settings: 1). Change AGP Voltage to 1.7 2). Disable AGP 8X Support 3). Disable AGP Fast Write Capability
Card has not randomly shutdown in several days now! These settings do not appear to degrade performance.

Ehh??? ok i guess
Pros: It's an okay card. Mine was DOA out of the box, RMA's it, waiting for replacement. I've had other 9600XT cards in the past and they're just okay, not mind blowing or anything.
Cons: DOA OOB. Had to wait for replacement. (It was for a low end project anyway.)

Good card for the money
Pros: Good card, big boost from my FX5200. Plays most games fairly well. Fan isn't as loud and annoying as some.
Cons: It's not exactly the latest and the greatest. No HDR.
Other Thoughts: You get what you pay for. This card has good bang for the buck, but I wish now I'd saved up for something better. Still a good card, but don't expect amazing performance.

Pretty awesome
Pros: very nice card for someone who likes to play games but does not consider themselves a gamer. Also, enables me to do thruview desktop with my ATI tv wonder pro card... which is cool (watch tv transparently through all open windows on your desktop)... and its pretty inexpensive.
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: I bought the 9600pro for one computer, then the 9600xt to upgrade another... both are great. Sapphire makes a good card.

Pros: Excellent card for the $'s.Plays Il-2 Pacific Fighters as well as my 9800pro 128mb.The 256mb of memory and the high clock speeds get the job done.
Cons: None, for this price range you can't go wrong.

Great upgrade for ancient pc
Pros: I had old AGP 2x/4x slot with a GeForce Ti200. This 8x is compatible with the 2x/4x slot on my Asus A7V with no issues. It is not too loud either, but I have loud case fans too. I am able to run COD2 at 800x600 DX7 on a SocketA 1.1GHz with 768MB RAM at ~35-45 FPS. This is medium goodies.
Cons: Had to disable Fast Writes to get it to work correctly with Medal Of Honor Spearhead, but I believe this is an issue with my motherboard rather than the card.
Other Thoughts: Good cheap upgrade for older AGP systems. My power supply is 300W Antec - nothing special.

Great Card
Pros: I bought this card back when it was almost new technology. It still plays all of my new games decently.
Cons: When I first got it, the fan got unbalanced and was really noisy. After reseating it and tweaking it, it runs perfect and silent now. I wish sapphire put a better fan on it to begin with though. I have pretty good air flow in my case so I've never had any problems with overheating.
Other Thoughts: I got it as a card to hold out my agp system, but they're still making agp cards that are almost keeping up with pci-e. So I think i'll get another...

Pros: When I originally bought the card, it was well worth the price. It held it's own when playing DOOM3 and several UT games.
Cons: It runs hot. The card just burned out on me despite buying a rather large heatsink and fan for it.
Other Thoughts: Rather than upgrade my system to a PCI-E mobo, I'll just replace the card and reuse the heatsink. It's cheaper right now considering the overwhelming changes in the computer industry.

Pros: Nice Box...
Cons: The card I received will only run in VGA mode. I tried it in two of my systems (one system is a recent Asrock board that runs ATI cards normally). Very disapointed as I've never had a bad Sapphire board previously.

Nice Card
Pros: This card runs HL2 & CS:S just fine and it's just a nice card. I'm going to see how it runs Halo soon. I have a strong feeling that it's gonna run it just fine. Mine came in red & also with a different fan & heatsink.
Cons: I don't know yet.
Other Thoughts: This card is well worth the money. Especially for a budget build.

Pros: Good card but could been better, runs Oblivion on medium settings but still stutters a little. Newegg is the best, fast shipping and on time delivery.
Cons: Needs a better fan.

Awesome budget card
Pros: Very good card for a budget PC. Handles HL2 and CS:S without complaint, but Oblivion and Doom III need to have their settings a bit lower. Heating is not a problem with the stock fan on the card.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: If you're building a budget PC and looking for a card to hold you over, buy this one.

Can't beat it for the price...
Pros: HIGHLY RECOMMEND
Decent Speed, Decent Price, Decent Power, Easy Install...what more could one ask for?! Sapphire Technology also gives you a nice warranty on thier parts...
Cons: I had the fan on mine (9600XT 128MB) break down 2 times...but that problem was because of a design flaw...it has since been resolved. Other than that...can't say anything bad...still plays the new games with no troubles...
Other Thoughts: When My video card fan broke down after a year of use...i talked to Sapphire Technology...and they gave me an RMA and I sent it to them...a little while later...i had a new Radeon 9600XT in the mail...Awesome customer Service...HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Good card
Pros: Great "bang for you buck" card. If you use a variety of graphics intensive programs (video editing, photoshop, gaming) and you don't want to shell out a lot of money, this is the card.
Cons: As much as i like the card, i was a bit disappointed to find that newegg did not have a "silent" version with a heatsink or heatpipe. After i installed the card, however, i could BARELY hear the fan.

great value
Pros: Good performance, great price. Installed flawlessly and work without a problem. I followed the recommendation of using drivercleaner to remove previous nVidia drivers form my old card (cheap insurance )
Cons: None that I can think of
Other Thoughts: Its a great card if you are upgrading from a very old AGP card, and want to squezee some more preformance out of your old PC (lets face its AGP) It seems that Sapphire brought out a new version, mine is red with a different heatsink/fan

Great card for the price
Pros: I bought this card to play Battlefield 2. It plays the game on low with no problems. I'm sure it could also play it on medium settings, but I'm waiting to get more RAM before I try that.
Cons: None yet!
Other Thoughts: Plays BF2 beautifully on low. No stutter at all. This card is fantastic value for money!!! Plus, Newegg's shipping rocks! I received the card in less than 48 hours.
