Disappointing effort for ATI
Pros: Runs 2d games and plays DVD's in an HTPC very well.
Cons: The card came bundled with a free copy of Half Life2 but it can't play it well. Locks up often during game play.
Other Thoughts: Thought I would buy two and do a X-fire set-up. For a few bucks more you can get an HD 3850 that will easily out perform two of these cards. Not going buying second card now. I'm going straight to the HD 3800's.

Problem
Pros: DX 10
Cons: This video card just won't do 75 Hz in 1440x900. Why not? I have tried various drivers, am currently using the newest Omega. Yes, my monitor supports it. I'm running the exact same monitor (Acer AL1916W) on another computer at 1440x900 75 Hz on an 9800 Pro. Here is what I get under list all modes:
List of valid modes 1360 by 768, True Color (32 bit), 60 Hertz 1360 by 768, True Color (32 bit), 75 Hertz 1360 by 768, True color (32 bit), 85 Hertz 1440 by 900, 256 colors 60 Hertz 1440 by 900 High Color (16 bit), 60 Hertz 1440 by 900 true Color (32 bit), 60 Hertz 1600 by 1200, 256 Colors, 60 Hertz 1600 by 1200, 256 Colored 70 Hertz 1690 by 1200, 256 Colors, 75 Hertz
I'm getting a scrolling line on the monitor, 75 Hz might fix that.
Other Thoughts: Was a good card till I found this

Good bang for the buck
Pros: Crossfired these two bad boys together - ran 3Dmark03 - scored relatively high at 1920x1200. Pricing is excellent.
Cons: The only issue with this card is that the Anti-aliasing suffered major drops in performance, when down-sampling textures & pixels. Running F.E.A.R., got only a maximum of 38-42 fps at medium-high settings.
Other Thoughts: If you'd like to have an entry level graphics card then this is your key. There are tot too many issues concerning the frame rate. Not a 256 bit card but one could always use this 2600xt until there is enough money for an upgrade.

An OK midrange card
Pros: Image quality in games and 2D apps is great. I run games at 1280x1024 because that is the maximum my Samsung LCD supports.
Cons: Performance is alright, but I expected better performance with a newer card like this.
Other Thoughts: I'm disappointed in ATI because I'm a fan of their products but their drivers are the major holdup when it comes to the performance of their current line-up. Technically speaking this card should blow away the older cards but it's pretty much on par with them or even slower.

ATI 2600 Series HDMI limitation
Pros: Inexpensive. No extra power required. Great for 1080P HDTV. HDMI native resolution is 1080P.
Cons: All ATI 2600 and possibly the entire 2x00 series adapter using the HDMI adapter or using a DVI to HDMI cable cannot go beyond 1920x1080. This was confirmed by ATI. So if you have a monitor with native resolution 1920x1200 you will have to use the VGA (analog) to get the native resolution of 1920x1200. However, if you use the VGA (analog), you will not be HDCP compliance. NO HD-DVD or BD capability at the highest possible resolution. I recommend using the Nvidia 8600 series, which has comparable pricing as the ATI 2600 series, but without the limitation.
ATI Response:
Solution Solved: (10/17/2007 2:16 PM EDT)
Dear customer,
Thank you for contacting AMD.
The provided information is correct. Even if you use a DVI output from your video card to connect a HDMI device using an adapter the HDMI limitations will be the one valid. It will be the same thing as if you use a real HDMI output directly from the video card.
Other Thoughts: I will only recommend NVidia 8600 series to my customers for use to build HTPC

Pros: great GPU, no problems with vista ultimate x64. be sure to update drivers for best performance. i mostly run photoshop and other graphic programs. I have a 360, so PC gaming isn't a huge thing for me. but it does run half life 2 really well, but don't expect crazy frame rates, or billions of float points...its 130 bucks and works extremely well.
Cons: none, great product

A Bad Card
Pros: It works
Cons: A poor performer. Runs hot. For the money a 7900gs by Foxconn has this card beat! Who cares about Direct X 10, when the card plays them slow!
Other Thoughts: Stay away

Amazing Card
Pros: Good price for the value, excellent price/performance ratio, and I haven't found a game yet that doesn't scream on this with every setting maxed out.
Cons: 128-bit interface with 256MB or memory. I'd have liked to have seen a 256-bit interface to go with the memory.
Other Thoughts: I've never tried crossfire, but I'm anxious to try it on this card and see if it's true that it really doesn't help as much. Still, though, this is a solid DX10 card. Worth every penny and then some.

Another..
Pros: made a big difference with games from 8500gt to this card 2600xt
Cons: not happy this card only has 80 stream processors i checked it with everest and R1vaTuner it shows the same thing
Other Thoughts: my system: p5k3 Deluxe, Kingston HyperX 1gb ddr3, 320gb HD, 2600xt DDR4, Audigy 2ZS PLatinum, C2D e6420 at 3.2ghz, and Vista Ultimate

Cons: is there an acurate program to tell me if this card has 80 or 120 stream proccesses/shaders

Good
Pros: New monthly driver releases continue to improve performance and features of this card. Catalyst 7.9 drivers work great and the upcoming 7.10 drivers will have more performance improvements. Vista compatibility is excellent, this card seems to perform better on vista than on xp.
Cons: The card is longer than you would expect, but still fits snugly in my mid-tower case.
Other Thoughts: A previous reviewer downrated this card due to a reading from Everest so I decided to check it out. I have two of these cards in crossfire and on the second card listed, everest shows: Unified Shaders - 120 (v4.0). And on the first card about half the time I view it the normal 120 reading will display, and other times Everest will display the card as having 80 unified shaders (stream processors). So I can see where this person is getting that confusion from, of why it would list it as 80. Right now I believe this is nothing more than an Everest bug and I'm sure these cards have the full 120 stream processors enabled, so nothing to be concerned about there. By the way, I am running Everest Ultimate Edition v4.10.1128 beta.

Great Card
Pros: Very good price:performance ratio for this card. One of the very few toting GDDR4. I got it right in time for AMD's new RadeonHD drivers for Linux to be released, and the next wave looks to be even better. Everything(games, video, etc) looks beautiful, the card runs quietly, and isn't a power hog like most of the other new cards.
Cons: Usually it would be ATI's poor support for Linux, but AMD seems to be turning that around ever since they took the helm. While things aren't quite where I'd like them to be, at least AMD seems to be moving in the right direction. One of the reasons Linux has poor support for games is the lack of good video drivers, and here's hoping to that being fixed sometime in the near future.

CONFUSED
Pros: not bad at all for games and everything else
Cons: the specification says 120 Stream Processors but when i open everest it says 80 Stream Processors i really really hope thats a mistake if there is another program where you can check how many Stream Processors are there on this video please someone let me know

good
Pros: stepped up from the x850xt not very noticeable in dx 9 games like F.E.A.R. but halo 2 is at max know.
Cons: none works great.
Other Thoughts: Its alot larger then it would appear in the pictures I judged its size off the end of the slot but its longer. get the 512 mb version for 20 more.

correction to previous review
Pros: card is great long as it's not malfunctioning from factory
Cons: my first was fried from factory
Other Thoughts: i wrote a review about 3 guys down... the over hyped one... well, from what i could tell and what i played on it the card is awesome, problem was that my first one had some factory defects, no biggy cause newegg is paying for shipping for it to go back and giving a full refund... I'm going to upgrade to the MSI 512MB OC version i think this time around... that ways if it works right I'll have a lot easier time running some of my games. my recommendation is to get 2 of these if you can crossfire, they aren't that big... ten again i'm running my rig in an Antec 900 case so there is plenty of room anyways.

Purple Hue
Pros: Audio through HDMI (with the active DVI/HDMI connector that is included). No extra power connector.
Cons: Using DVI and setting the resolution to 1360 X 768 made the screen have a purple Hue. Every other resolution looked fine but unfortunately 1360 X 768 is my TV's (Viewsonic N3751w) optimal resolution. Tried older drivers, different cables, and different HDMI/DVI adapter.

Good features and performance
Pros: HDMI out, great multimedia features. Excellent image quality, movies and games look simply stunning. Built-in crossfire support, no external power connector needed, not power hungry at all. Reviews show the GDDR4 gives a definite advantage in gaming, it is worth spending the extra few on this card. DirectX 10 and HDCP support.
Cons: Doesn't achieve sky-high fps numbers.
Other Thoughts: The card may not get a ton of fps, but obviously that is not all this card is about. Considering all the aspects of this card it is a great value. It performs superbly on Vista and especially with crossfire. If you want extra performance, seriously consider adding in another one now or later, any decent power supply can handle it. On Vista, Athlon 64 X2 4800+, 2GB ram, single 2600xt; scores 4740 points on 3Dmark06. Added in another, enabled crossfire, and: 7875 points. That's an overall 66% increase in the machine's gaming capability!

a little overstated
Pros: Just upgraded from a 1600 XT from sapphire, definatly a noticeable upgrade.
Cons: over hyped - some of the older reviews are a little over exadurated, and thats from an ATI lovers' standpoint.
Other Thoughts: it'll run Bioshock on full settings in DX9 on XP with not a problem in the world on 1024x786, but it gets stuck often for long periods of time on 1280x1024... thats with just one card though, if you go Crossfire your good to go. runs C&C3 on full on 1280 flawlessly, runs NFS: most wanted on full on 1024 flawlessly, haven't tested Carbon out yet. And i have found that even some new cards get lagged up a little by Sims 2, so i tested that one out and i believe that with some more onboards memory it would be smooth as a baby's a*s, but it gets cought up a little when you tell it to edit a lot at once.

Great even for mediocre
Pros: Man this card is so cool (literally and figuratively!) anyway I like the so called 24 AA in catalyst. I personally doubt it but for game such as bioshock it does make it look even sweeter.
Cons: not THE best card you can buy but it suffices for light gaming and it does play the latest games so its not all bad really.
Other Thoughts: Think hard whether you want extreme gaming or light gaming otherwise you could end up quite disappointed...

nice card
Pros: nice upgrade fron nvidia 7600gt. I am useing this for a htpc and hi def is sweet. and up convert sdtv to 1280 x 1024 looks sweet on my 41 in plasma.
Cons: length is blocking air flow in my case. I ordered a new case till it gets here i cant put the cover on my case due to heat.

Awesom!
Pros: Well its DX10, its ATI, its a Good Card, looks beautifully designed. I can run Lost Planet on 1280x1024 on all high at 30+ FPS, but my 7800gt struggled on 1024x768 on medium.
Cons: Drivers blow!
Other Thoughts: i wish bioshock would run good, on Vista i cant get it to go past the 1st 3 min of gameplay. on XP it goes, but i wana play again with DX10...

Pros: I bought this card primarily for decoding HD video, and it works very well. I don't play many games so I can't comment on its gaming performance.
Cons: Longer than my old card.
Other Thoughts: I have this card running alongside a Hauppauge WinTV HVR-1600. I can now watch live high definition TV without any skipping! My old video card (nVidia Geforce 6600 GT) was not up to this task.

Cons: still driver support is bad but when they do get it together it should be great
Other Thoughts: my 3dmark06 score was a 9200 im very happy with that score plus that was on vista ultimate there is supposed to be a 25% decrese in score from xp my system(x2 6000+@3.25 2gb g.skill ddr2 800 and x2 hd2600xt

Awesome Cards!
Pros: Awesome card, have 2 in Crossfire, Game play very very smooth framerates, with maxed settings. Amazing for mid-range cards.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: Now, drivers are maturing & showing their potential in all types of applications, especially with DX10.

Good Card
Pros: Great card. works great under DX10. Have tried Lost Planet on it and it looks just like in the movie.... Nice
Cons: The Fan is a little noisy. Not sure why. it makes this high pitch sound. Good thing i got no Dog or it barks at me all day.
Other Thoughts: Should have a better Fan

Can you say, AWFUL?
Pros: Uhhhh
Cons: Right out of the box, product installed physically, however the drivers that are supplied for Windows Vista ERROR OUT, and do not install correctly. I have no problem downloading the latest driver from ATI.... assuming it works. It might work, however with the card installed, it eats up the entire second core of the processor. Take the card out, and it runs smooth, with no problems. Put the card back in, install a different driver, 100% processor usage again, and the Windows Vista experience index freezes when trying to update the scores. Still waiting for Sapphire to get back to me on a possible fix. NOT HAPPY.
Other Thoughts: Great hardware specs, but maybe they should really put some time into software that works for the card, and actually makes use of it properly, instead of wasting my time offering a free game that I still can't even play.

Painfull
Pros: Extreamly nive graphics for the price, runs at 54C stock clock, overclocks well, i also have mine at 857core 1175mem for speeds, idles fairly cool
Cons: the cd gave me heck, catalyst refused to install right, updated catalyst wouldnt work right unless i manualy removed the public keys installed - this is from a clean install of xp pro
Other Thoughts: if you get errors - google it
i give 4 stars after all of this because the card is just awesome - drivers work great:-D

Great performance
Pros: Great card, low price, free game, low power consumption, no extra powerp cable required, crossfire ready, low heat envelope.
Cons: somewhat long, no extra power cable, fan doesn't cool that much, somewhat of a weak card, GRPAW 2 is haaaaard.
Other Thoughts: In DX9 games, this card performs... well, not too well. It's not so much of an upgrade from my 850XT as I would have wanted it to be, and the fact that it's 128 bit really bites down hard on it.DX10 is where the Radeon take over Nvidia, and that pis where it counts, so cares really. Nice way to upgrade into Vista and not break the wallet. Not really a gaming card, I wish ATI and Nvidia would come with a performance card since neither of them is really covering that area. Can't wait to try crossfire with these. I would recommend this over the 8600 due to its awesome HD capabilities and full HDMI output support.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME
Pros: bus speed, core speed, and ddr4 IF IT WORKED
Cons: Driver support for windows xp is horrible. Cant get drivers to work correctly from anywhere with windows xp ( havent tried with vista ) Tried omega drivers, ati drivers, saphire drivers, gigabyte, msi and a few others. Used latest catalyst and older versions... blue screens and 5 frames per second with only driver i could load.
Other Thoughts: Perhaps drivers should be perfected before product hits the shelves....

great value!
Pros: Running Cat 7.8 from the ATI site, this card runs BF2 and 2148 very well. I also play EVE and am getting 150 FPS in space and 175 FPS in station. This card is an amazing value.
Cons: Drivers are still being tweaked, but heck it is a new card and all drivers are going to need tweaking no matter who makes the card.
Other Thoughts: This is a great card for the sub $150 class. nVidia makes good cards too but for the money this one seemed to have better Benchmarks than the offerings for nVidia.

Really Good Card
Pros: Fast, and excellent performance if you get 2 of them. This card is ok if your running just one of them, but its lighting fast, and with AMD's/ATI's new design of these chips, there are fast in Crossfire mode.
A nice upgrade from my x1900 gt's i had in crossfire mode. The 2600's smoked CnC 3, and you can pretty much turn every thing up in CoH with no lag (if you have 2 - 4 gigs of memory for Vista users) i could barely keep up.
Cons: none really, they run just a little hot under load, but with good case cooling or water cooling you'll be fine.
Other Thoughts: These cards perform "eggcellent" if your running two in crossfire mode. The performance is so good that there's really no need to buy the 2900xt if you get 2 of the 2600xt's, and you save money.

Good
Pros: Worked good out of the box, drivers installed without a hitch and performs good in all my games.
Cons: Runs everything GOOD but I guess i expected better... not completely dissappointed though because it only cost me 140 bucks! So overall I am a Happy Camper
Other Thoughts: My brothers PC runs GRAW2 better than my pc does! MINE- AMD athlon x2 4000 OCed to 2.5 GHZ 2 gigs mushkin ddr2 800 sapphire 2600XT GDDR4
My Brothers- Pentium 4 3.0 Prescott 1 Gig OCZ ddr 3500 Sapphire X1950Pro 512Mb AGP version
WHAT UP WITH THAT? ( I really think it comes down to drivers so i'll keep that in mind also only has 256 MB and a 128 Bit rate---- brother has 512 and 256)
Overclocks well with the ATI overdrive overclocking tool... Maxes mine out so its nice

This card is p1mps4uc3
Pros: This card blows away my old card (forgot what it was). Since I put this card in, no more lag on CS - HEADSHOTS ALL NIGHT LONG BABY, HEADSHOTS.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: The flames are a nice touche. My girlfriend used to call me a computer nerd. Now she knows what up. She even brings her friends home from work to show them this l33t card.

Runs great
Pros: Runs my games on High, easy switch to Vista and DX10 when it becomes useable.
Cons: Red is the only color sapphire knows.
Other Thoughts: That one guy said it's DX10 only and not 9? It's working just fine on my XP 64bit, just downloaded the xp drivers and its working like normal.
Maybe next time dont your understanding as High.

Defainately a mature card!
Pros: Excellent performance for the price. VERY good drivers (if you download the latest, don't install the CD drivers!) Rock solid in Vista. Best bang for the buck.
Cons: Does get a tad hot, but the fan really doesn't get that loud either, so big deal.
Other Thoughts: I helped a friend buy this card. I use a 2900, but he didn't have that kind of money so we decided to try this card instead. We made sure to get the latest drivers from ATI, and it's turned out to be very good. This card so far has been very rock solid in all games we have tried, and held up very well in Vista. Many have said to wait for mature drivers? Well, those drivers are here and ready for you now.

Took the plunge
Pros: I took the plunge on this card. I was a bit worried after reading some of the other reviews. So far I'm glad I bought it.
I'm not a hardcore gamer, was looking for a good card at a good price, and found it here. I have not run into issues with card or drivers. We are running Vista.
We've been playing Ghost Recon2 on it at fairly high levels. 1280x1024, and all but 1 or 2 settings are on high, the others are on medium.
Looks cool, and came with lots of adaptors and composit cable, and the crossfire bridge.
Cons: None yet.
Other Thoughts: Doesnt require a separate power connectors like the high end cards do. Good middle of the road card.

DX10 CARD
Pros: RUNS GREAT IN DX10 GAMES, IF U WNA PLAY DX9 GAMES WITH A DX10 CARD AND WINDOWS VISTA DONT BUY THIS CARD, THIS CARD ISNT ADAPTED OR DX9 LIKE THE NVIDIAS ARE, THESE CARDS ARE OR DX10 GAMES THEY WILL PLAY DX9 BUT DX10 IS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT THEN DX9, THIS DOESNT HAVE PIXEL PIPELINES THIS HAS STREAM PROCESSORS! the geforce 8 series are like in the middle which play better in dx9 not that good in dx10 BECAUSE THEY HAVE LESS STREAM PROCESSORS, play CALL OF JUAREZ! ITS A DX10 GAME! card is excellent
Cons: NONE! its a dx10 card not a dx9 card so its cool.
Other Thoughts: y would u wna buy a dx9 card, in DX10 THE ONLY THING THAT MATTERS IS STREAM PROCESSORS EVERYTHING ELSE ISNT AS IMPORTANT, NVIDIA HAS EVERYTHING CRANKED UP WICH IS WHY THERE CARDS ARE SO EXPENSIVE, AND IN DX10 U WONT EVER USE ALL THAT POWER CUZ IT ONLY UTELIZES STREAM PROCESSORS, so technically your throwing your money away if u want a card like that, BUY THIS CARD ITS BETTER!

It's ok...
Pros: Runs quiet, decent performance in game. No trouble installing. Came with GRAW 2. Very cool looking. Single slot design.
Cons: Runs very hot in game. Came with GRAW 2, but it can't run it at full settings. You'd expect the game that came with the card to be able play it at full settings, but nope, not this one... The BIGGEST con of all is that BF2 won't work with ATi's 7.8 drivers...at all. The game acts like it's gonna start up, but then doesn't. I know it's the drivers and not the card because the same thing happened with my X1800XT. Wrote ATi about the problem today...hopefully they can help some how. That was very disappointing.
Other Thoughts: I think it's a good card, but the drivers still suck. You know they're bad when your game won't even start up. Gaming performance in GRAW 2 was not as good as expected, but it does ok.

Good TV card
Pros: Bought this as a TV output card and it works great for that purpose. It is a little longer than I wanted, but did not require a power connector so that was a plus.
Cons: Unfortunately, as another person noted the UVD only works with Blu-Ray or HD-DVD output which is sad. In this regard I preferred the nVidia PureVideo. This card is not worth using for gaming.
Other Thoughts: As stated this card is more suited to media center type tasks than gaming. While the specs are nice the actual gaming performance is sadly sub-par.

Fast Enough
Pros: I upgraded from an X850XT to this card because it supports pixel shader 3, which enables it to play Splinter Cell Double Agent. Other pluses are: hdmi/hdcp support, (untested) dx10, the card only takes up one slot, and it came with a fine game, Call of Juarez. I benchmarked the card on my core 2 1 gig Win XP system using the ATT benchmark (while listening to mp3's). the results: X850XT=3987, 2600XT=7055.2 Doom3 timedemo = mid 60's at max settings 1280x720 Running Cat 7.7
Cons: The card is a little long, but no serious trouble.
Other Thoughts: One day it will join my other obsolete computer junk, but for now it's fine.

65nm > all
Pros: FYI: I bought this card within the first few hours of it being posted on NewEgg. -- It's ATI. -- Fastest GPU on the market, based on 65nm fabrication process..which means maximum overclocking potential.
Using the stock fan, I'm able to cap overdrive at 857mhz GPU / 2,350mhz GDDR4 running at ONLY 65c (ATI Tools didn't support the 2600s onRelease).
Considering this card idles at around 60c, this shows an EXTREMELY efficient overclocking scale. I've actually seen an Asian manufacturer selling these with the GDDR4 clocks set to 2,800mhz using a Zalman-style fan.
-Supports 24x anti-aliasing -Native Xfire -Great HD support
Cons: Know what type of game settings you plan on using, 128-bit RAM isn't so great for insane resolutions [over 1600 x 1280].
NOTE: 8600s USE 128-BIT TOO
Other Thoughts: PC Specs - Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe (i hate SLI) - Radeon HD 2600 XT - AMD X2 5200+ - 2gb dual channeled OCZ Reaper Edition [800mhz / 4-4-4-15] - 320gb x 2 Seagate Barracudas, RAID 0 - Corsair HX-620 PSU

Terrible drivers
Pros: Quiet fan, single slot, relatively low power consumption, nice (but length-extending) collection of adapters. HDTV decoding faster than my old X300. Handy Catalyst shortcuts in start menu (including Restart Runtime--you'll need it).
Cons: Terrible drivers, UVD is only for Blu-Ray and HD-DVD. HDTV decoding consumes a lot of CPU. I'm getting the "smearing" (actually, multiple images) problem on SDTV that many people encounter (my X300 also had this, unclear whether it's an ATI driver problem). Mediocre DX9 3D performance. High-sampling filter settings are marketing hype. 24x AA, 16x AF, with quality adaptive AA--yeah, right, maybe at 640x480.
Other Thoughts: Wrong installation instructions and card diagram. Put the card in, terminate Windows attempts to install drivers, run the CD. Do a full install, but skip .NET 2.0 if you already have it, then upgrade Catalyst from the web. Drivers are terrible, rendering errors galore (textures not filled, transparent areas of alpha textures filled, horizontal line segments [may be a depth error]). At some settings, always crashes at 1920x1440. Filters not applied (and bizarre caching of last Direct 3D app settings, at least with Catalyst 7.6, haven't rechecked in 7.7) at 2048x1536. CyberLink PowerDVD 7 Ultra codecs didn't work at all (I don't have a Blu-Ray or HD-DVD player); CyberLink no longer supports MCE 2005. Had the best luck with nVidia PureVideo decoders for DTV decoding, but UVD isn't used for anything but Blu-Ray and HD-DVD, so CPU load is still high. Can't comment on the game, became available while my card was in transit, Newegg wouldn't make it available to me.

Great card, ingnore the noobs
Pros: Fast card, plays the mane games I play regularly BF2 and CS:S very well. Its a main stream card expect mainstream performance.
Cons: these cards pull alot of POWER. You need a good power supply and GOOD mother board. Or you will have problems with the newer generation cards. If your PSU can't cut it , or you mother board can't feed enough power to PCIe. You will have freeze ups etc... I think alot of things people are blaming on drivers are related to the above.
as for vista, users alot of game problems, are the games not being updated and the new OS. visa is still less the 5% of the market and even less even then Linux! Most won't even touch it until SP1
Other Thoughts: I'm not seeing these so called driver problems on XP. After solving power issues it's been smooth sailing for me.
people need to stop expecting and comparing 8800GTS / 2900XT performance to mainstream cards. They do pack go performance for the price point.

what!!!
Pros: great price, card looks sweet
Cons: not very happy with gaming performance. this card should handle most anything out right now with room for next gen games but the speed test results where very close to my 1600xt
Other Thoughts: maybe it is a driver problem.(i hope) ive built 3 systems with 8600 for friends and they sadly seemed much better for gaming

Jitter FREE HD playback
Pros: This is the card you want if your building an HD HTPC!! I upgraded to this card from a Nvida 8800gts and HD playback much smoother on this card and less CPU utilization.
Cons: If your purely into Gaming you may want the 2900xt or 8800gts but for HD this card is awesome!!

HD 2600xt
Pros: so far its been good card thought im into light gaming and mostly bought this card for htpc thinking about crossfiring this card as it dont take extra power pluggins from the power supply
Cons: drivers need to catch up , running 7.7 right now so far so good till drivers catch up for dx 10 , dx10 games are dog slow .
Other Thoughts: core is 800mhz mem is 1100mhz ATI overdrive overclocks core at 855 mem 1175 although under winV sometimes it reverts back to default settings (again drivers need fixing for vista) wonderful card for Htpc not very power hungry card even oc'ed , and h264 playback is seemless with no jitters or stutter

Coming from an ATI person.
Pros: Looks Cool, Nice price point, No Pci-E connector, Game included, Dx10.
Cons: DRIVERS are just plain BAD-- Ive had the hdmi 5.1 audio remove my existing sound card drivers- fixed that. You have to use ATI TOOL BETA on this as ATI Tool .26 wont work. The fan control system has to be bad.. Ati tool reads out 99C around GPU area and 75+C on GPU Core at 30% fan speed. I mean 99C? tht almsot boiling. Clearly Driver issues..
Other Thoughts: Mabye these were rushed out. Call of Juarez is a solid game but I notice crazy shadows in grids and Shadows o myself everywhere in game just just around me.. Mid range performance I guess I remember ATI released new drivers for X700's that really helped performance and obviously the same needs to be done here.. Withoutbeeter support this card is a lame duck sadly. I love ATI and held onto my X850XT forever but I've got 30 days and if this driver issue doesnt work things out, I'll be returning this and going Back to nVidia This is a promising card but full potential is far from reached keep your Dx9 setup and wait for a new driver.

Good
Pros: Built a computer for my other brother and I guess this card performs alright, but it needs the driver updated badly otherwise nobody can give it a full review.
Cons: It's ATI....even though they are better than nvidia in graphics their costumer service is horrible. Had a x800, 9800, and a 9600xt and all blew withing 4 years never got replacements. And because it's ATI after a couple of years they will loose support over this card like every other old card they came out with. Trying to find a driver for a card they came out 5 years ago is hard!! Nvidia has all the drivers since the TnT2 days. I love my 8800GTS never had a problem with nvidia, and Nvidia is always working on new drivers. But like I said I love both brands. And when ATI finally comes out with newer drivers I will admit the new ATI cards will make my 8800GTS eat it's dust.
P.S ATI drivers have always sucked.
Other Thoughts: STOP COMPARING HIGH END VIDEO CARDS TO WOW!!!!!!!!!!! WOW sucks, my little 7300 can run it full settings. You can run WOW on a stupid FX5200 PEOPLE WOW IS NOT A GRAPHICS HOG!!!

Don't buy until drivers mature.
Pros: Low cost.
Cons: I bought this card for HTPC purposes and it has not fulfilled any expectations. Out of the box it had severe underscan, poor video quality (smearing mpeg2) and atikmdag would crash constantly when playing protected video content. Is this the ATI of old?
Other Thoughts: AMD needs to recognize that poor driver support for their video cards will affect processor sales as well. I've bought AMD cpus for years but really don't feel like supporting AMD at this time.

Pros: At a price of $150 upon market entry this card is coming into the market at a good price. All of the ATI 2k series cards do video functions much better than the competition.
Cons: With games this card is a complete under performer. I hope it is mostly due it being a new chip design and that the video driver is lacking some major performance tweaks but only time will tell. In WoW this card pushed out lower framerates than my X800 XL card.

Benchmarks
Pros: I have not purchased this product, but here is a link for benchmark scores.
Does better on DX10 games than 8600GTS
Cons: Out performed by 8600GTS in most DX9 games.
Other Thoughts: There was a good performance increase with this video card after the last driver update, could look forward to better performance with next update.

DirectX 10: Radeon vs. Geforce
Pros: Performs 5.1 audio and HD video calculations (with enhancements) with hardly any CPU utilization. It doesn't requirer any outside power source. Tremendous shader power. Seems to run Dx10 games better than the Geforce series.
Cons: Mid-ranged Radeon HD 2000 and Geforce 8000 series do not perform very well in Dx10 games.
Other Thoughts: The Geforce 8600 GT has better Dx9 performance than the Radeon HD 2600 XT. But, I believe, when Dx10 games are more plentiful, you'll see the Radeon taking the performance lead. The Geforce 8000 series is built around Dx9 games; while the Radeon HD 2000 series is built to expand into Dx10 games. The performance between GDDR3 and GDDR4 is minimal. If you're into multimedia, I'd definitely tell you to buy a Radeon. And remember, specs aren't everything, the architecture in all video cards are very different. It all comes down to real-world benchmarks. Good luck! :P

Get this
Pros: The UVD is actually working! When I decided to play a blue ray disc as a test, processor runs only at 3%!
Although I don't have a GDDR3 version, I heard this one does much better?
Cons: Ah, gaming performance not as great as expected. FPS wise, it does the same as X1950GT which I just replaced.
Wait for next gen DX10 cards from ATi/nVidia if you are a hardcore DX10 fan because right now no cards actually perform well enough in DX10.
Other Thoughts: GET THIS CARD BEFORE YOU ACTUALLY GIVE IT A REVIEW!!!
Its great value!

Great for Multimedia
Pros: Wow, 120 stream proc tha's more than the 8800GTS. Does well on HDTV. GDDR4 currently the faster memory speed on any card. Surely beats 8600gt on benchmarks. Every new driver improves performance all the time.
Cons: 128bit bus? Performance is par to the x1900gt/x1800gto or 7600gt which is disapointing for a midrange DX10 card. Isn't DX10 card suppose to be better than last gen card? Still no DX10 game as of writing. I wouldn't rush to buy this yet but if you have a junky last gen card and wanted to upgrade to something better and cheaper, then this is for you.
Other Thoughts: Just wait by the end of the year. DX10 card prices will drop greatly and you might be able to afford 8800gts or Ati x2900xt for way better performance as Nvidia and Ati will roll out new series.
