Ouch
Pros: This card was a great replacement for my old onboard GeForce4 MX. It gave me Shader 3.0, OpenGL 2, and a whole bunch of other things. I was able to run many games from 2005 back on max settings with around 20fps, and a few of today's games on medium settings with about 30fps. It's also good for overclocking. Dual monitor support!
Cons: This card has bluescreened my computer 5(!) times. The first four times, it was with the newest drivers on ATI's website, but the last time it was with the drivers that came with on the installation disc. The failures always were the same: boot computer, select XP Professional, and a blue screen pops up with a fatal system error in which the logon process cannot be completed. After about 2-3 hours worth of troubleshooting, I always come to the conclusion that it's the video card. I remove the card, uninstall the drivers, then reinstall the drivers for my old onboard GF4, and everything works again. I permanently removed the card from my system and will not purchase another ATI card again.
Other Thoughts: I have a horrible system, but everything works fine with the onboard mess. 250W PSU, nForce2 mobo, Athlon XP 3200+, XP Professional, 512MB DDR SDRAM.

Good Card
Pros: Bought this card about 3 years ago and it just gave up the ghost. I have even been able to play Sins of a Solar Empire with this card
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: Excellent card for older system. I'm looking to by the same card again to get me through until I build my new machine.

An Outdated Masterpiece
Pros: Back in the day, this used to be a great card. I bought it for a carton of cigarettes brand new(don't ask) and it worked flawlessly. I was able to run EQ2 at medium settings, WarRock at high settings, and just about any other game from 2005 back.
Cons: The Catalyst drivers for this card were buggy at the time of usage. Most noticable of all was the fact that brightness/contrast settings did not carry over a reboot. This card is also very outdated, running on the legacy AGP bus and while I would definitely recommend it for an upgrade on an aging PC, the price is rather high.
Other Thoughts: For 50-70 USD more, you can upgrade your motherboard to one with a PCI Express slot, get an 8600GT, and at least 2gb of DDR2 low latency RAM. I wouldn't recommend buying this as an upgrade for an aging PC anymore unless the price is lowered drastically from, at the time of this writing, 79.99 USD.

Good save for a dying old pc
Pros: It will fil the AGP slot if you make it.
Cons: Out dated, overpriced and driver install is terrible.
Other Thoughts: I bought this card to replace an origonal voodoo3 16mb card in an old p3 833 system. Installed great, was an incredable upgrade obviosly. So I built a new pc just for this card. biostar K8M800 micro atx,AMD 64x2 3800+2.0g,2gigs ultra pc5300 667mhz ddr2, 500w Basiq psu, Xion blue led game case, and a masscool sink/fan. I put the card in and it crashes after 3 to 5 minutes repeatedly. Updated drivers, reinstalled, CRASH. Took the card back to Office Depot, traded it for Geforce fx5500. Better card easy install, runs great. Just replaced it with a eVGA Geforce 7600GS. WOW. for 10$ more than what I paid for this piece of well. 3 stars

Favorite Classic VC
Pros: Works like a charm after 4 years! Ran everything i've thrown at it: BF2, Doom3, and COH are the last games i played with this card and astonishingly enough, it's still good!(?)
Cons: AGP but back in the day when AGP was the best, it was an excellent card. It's out of date so skip this one and start upgrading your system to PCI Express.
Other Thoughts: I got this on a walmart shelf back when it was first released (at least 3 or 4 years ago?) it was my first hardware upgrade ever and it worked wonders for me! i upgraded my system twice before this Beast got too old for me, and i had to move on :-(

It's worked for me
Pros: I've been gaming on this card for nearly 3 years. It was the first computer upgrade I had ever done. It runs most of the newer games on atleast medium settings.
Cons: It's pretty old now, I wouldn't buy it today, even for a buget build.
Other Thoughts: The thing has given me no trouble over the past few years and heat/power consumption have never been a problem. Currently It's my CPU (pentium 4 2.4GHz) holding me back on gaming not this card!

Bang For The Buck
Pros: Two Years Ago I Got This For $$$, Worth The Money If I Look Back At It. Drops Slowly In Price.
Cons: Windows Vista 64x Crashes, Driver Errors Are The Cause, Noticed The Problem In DreamScene.
Other Thoughts: Use This As My Home Movie Center, Hook It Up To The TV Using S-Video Or Converter. Runs At Default 29 or 30 Hertz.

Horrible
Pros: the only pro's about this card is that its dirt cheap. It will play counter strike source half life 2. and some other games.
Cons: doesnt play f.e.a.r too well. its only 4 pipelines like people said. ram is horrible. the s video port goes bad after like 1 month. same with my other ati. Cant run game son high detail unless u want lag. The card cant be over clocked very well. and if it works it will stop about 11 mins later
Other Thoughts: get yourself a better card. Aim for nvidia. i have had 6 ati's and i have learned my lesson. I own a 9800pro by powercolor which is an ati. its ok. not so bad. but still nto good enough and to top it off. driver issues. and the s-video goes bad after a month.

"OLD"
Pros: Silent. There are not many good thing about this video card.
Cons: Can get much better deals.X1950GT for $20 which is about 5x faster or even X1600 series. This card has only 4 pixel pipelines. 256Mb of ram is pretty much useless on this GPU.Cannot play anything on medium setting past the year 2004.
Other Thoughts: Choose other one. Anything from X700 series up to X1950 will be better. Don't get me wrong but this is one of the slowest video cards on the market .It is only good for multimedia.

Pros: Runs great, low cost for what it's worth
Cons: None so far
Other Thoughts: Runs WoW at 35-45 FPS on all high settings, and Halo 1 at 35-40 FPS on mostly high settings

Decent performer back in 03-04
Pros: midrange performance in older games from 03-04. Doom 3 at 800x600 on med quality you can get from 25-45 fps. Not too shabby for this card. I ran oblivion on this card on lowest settings possible and got a nice 20 fps. Not bad considering this card's age. Good for DVD/Video playback. Very reliable card, extremely quiet. Lasts forever. Ease of setup
Cons: Not suited for anything past 2003 really in the gaming department. Bought this card for Joint Operations back in the day, and it was only marginally better than my old g3f0rc3 52OO. Driver support somewhat limited.
Other Thoughts: Still using this 9550 in the multimedia PC hooked up to a 52" DLP TV. Works flawlessly. If you have a high def TV go for a better card, something NEWER.

S-Vidoe does not work
Pros: Good on budget. Based on trusted company chip. No fan.
Cons: S-Video does not work. Main purpose of purchasing this card was to convert old PC to HTPC. It failed miserably. On one system PC+TV it gives just B/W picture. On another working schema I put this card instead Radeon 7000 veteran which is working with TV for 3 years already. Same B/W picture and out of sync. Sapphire service is not exist by the way. Placed call to ATI/AMD. They recommend to replace card. I did. Second one came with same problem. Both of them going back thanks to newegg.com good service.
Other Thoughts: If you plan to use it only with PC monitors it should be fine but for using S-Video look for another card.

Decent card, budget saver
Pros: Low cost, reliable, Compatible with VGA, DVI and S-Video.
Cons: Blurred video in first install, locked operating frequency (A.K.A. Clock speed)
Other Thoughts: My rig when purchased: Pentium 4 (3.00 ghz x2) 512 mb ram Windows XP SP2 Intel 82865G motherboard
You get what you pay for with this card. It ran BF2 at a medium level (Which surprised me because of my utterly pathetic ram), without stutter or other graphics issues. This card hasn't failed to cope well with anything I've run through it, although it certainly isn't very flashy. Don't expect to manage a high-end game with a res. higher than 1024, especially if you're running dual monitor, and don't try to push it too far beyond the average resolution, regardless of running applications or dual monitor.
The only issue I've had is during the first install, after putting in Catalyst. The screen was slightly stretched, but it didn't even out where, so some parts of the image were twice as wide as they should be. If you get the same problem, open Catalyst and shrink the screen sizing until you get a clear image.
This card's clock speed is locked.

Decent Card
Pros: I'm not a gamer so this card was very good for my needs. I think it's a decent card.
Cons: When I bought it price was much too high, but I needed a card badly.
Other Thoughts: I prefer Nvidia cards but decided to give ATI a try. Next card I'll be going back to Nvidia.

Great AGP card
Pros: Great card, 4x/8x capability, 256 RAM, very nice card
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: I've had this card for almost 2 years with no hitches. The only reason I'm no longer using it is because I just upgraded my rig and the new mobo has no AGP slots. I've really enjoyed this card, played many games fine on it. I've played DOOM 3, UT2004, Empire Earth, and countless more with no hiccups. I love this card and hate to see it go, but I've gotta get a PCI-E card now.

Highly Recommended
Pros: Quality construction. Easy installation. Installed on a Dell Dimension 4550 w/ a Pentium 4 2.66 processor six months ago and has worked perfectly so far. I use the DVI output to a Samsung SyncMaster 205BW at 1680 x 1050 resolution. Very efficient heat sink. This is not considered a "gamer" card but I did test it on Half Life 2 and it ran the game with no apparent problems.
Cons: None.

Decent Card
Pros: I have been using this card for a year and a half now and it's done just fine for me. I have run Doom 3 on medium settings and Quake 4 on medium settings and it works well. I'm upgrading now, but only because this has been in my computer for a year and a half.
Cons: For the price you could get something a little nicer now. And, it's AGP based. I, personally, would rather use a PCIe card.
Other Thoughts: For it's age it's held up wonderfully. I got this card by recommendation when I first built my computer and it's been reliable the whole time. It even survived a reformat. I did have to go to ATI's website to re-download the driver, but no biggie I wasn't smart enough to back it up!

Still some problems
Pros: Cheap enough, comes with instruction book ( I hate online instructions), pretty straightforward installation on a 3yr old Dell Dimension 8300,lots of online tech info/help available for us tech challenged
Cons: No fan. Replay of video freezes the computer after a few minutes. A lot of opinions abound. I'm going to try a slot cooler to see if my problems are due to heat. I probably could have gotten away with a less expensive card that does have a fan. Live and learn

Great Card, but do not buy it.
Pros: This card is pretty good but not worth the price. You can get a geforce 7300 or even a radeon 1600 for the same price now. And they'll do a lot more.
Cons: cost is way more than it should be.

Don't waste your money....
Pros: It is still running.
Cons: Had problems with this card from day 1. I can barely run games, even basic ones with this card. Drivers are constantly being updated, and then AMD buys them.
Next card will be NVidia based.
Other Thoughts: In all honesty, I should have educated myself more before buying this card.
I also should have bought it from Newegg. This was installed when I bought a new computer, and I really didn't know that much about video cards at the time. That mistake won't happen again!

Great card
Pros: This is one great card for the money, can run HL2 with a AMD Athalon 1800 on high with no problems whatsoever
Cons: When i first started using it my computer would lock up during gaming, found out it was overheating, put a fan on it and it runs fine now
Other Thoughts: Very very good card for the money, but would have liked a fan with it. I would def. recommend for a budget system.

Nice Graphics Card
Pros: Very nice for gaming. Very clear and noticeable improvement from my manufacture card. I play CS and WoW, and it gets it through both on high settings, all the time.
Cons: Although, this might have caused my PSU to malfunction from overheating, no problems, I'm upgrading from 300W to 400W, which should fix the problems.
Other Thoughts: Very cheap for its bang. Great buy if you use daily, work in graphics, play games.

To the last reviewer
Pros: This is a good, cheap card for people who aren't too serious about gaming performance. It can play CS:Source, HL2, BFV, etc. on medium settings with minimal hiccups, and thats only during high-intensity firefights.
Cons: Its no X1000 series.
Other Thoughts: To the last reviewer, what are you on? I get big hiccups any time theres any hint of action on HL2 on max settings with this card, there is absolutely no way you can play Oblivion on high settings with this card, unless you are high yourself.

Good Buy
Pros: This card is excellent for gaming. My computer runs Oblivion on high graphics settings with no problem. It comes with all sorts of adapters and cables. The Trixx overclocking program that comes with the card allows you to overclock the card.
Cons: Needs new heatsink. I reccomend the Zalman VF-700-CU. The Trixx overclocking program is not designed well, but I still think it is awesome.
Other Thoughts: Excellent card for the money. I would reccomend it to any gamer, especially those who want to play graphics intensive games such as Oblivion.

Nice
Pros: It's a pretty decent card. I had this in my old system and it served its purpose. It only got up to 105 degrees F while running Oblivion and Aquamark overclocked...not bad considering it has no fan.
Cons: only 4 pipelines. A bit overpriced, but most ATI cards are.
Other Thoughts: I was able to overclock the core to 400MHz and the memory to 450 MHz.

ATi 256MB Radeon 9550
Pros: Good cheap card for light gaming and general computer usage. There are a lot of worse cards for the price. And Newegg rocks as a supplier.
Cons: Ati does'nt support there products the way Nvidia gives support. There service department is a true problem for them. This card is just slightly above the quality of a Radeon 9250.
Other Thoughts: Everyone complains about the fact the card gets hot and needs a fan, so here is a tip. Buy or find a fan and heatsink for a socket five CPU then remove the fan from the heatsink. These fans have a ball bearing and run very quiet and will fit onto a GPU heatsink perfect. Use the same screws that held it on to the other heatsink to attach the fan. I use one on two of these cards and another on a Nvidia 128MB 5200 made by ASUS. After you have done this you will never compain of heat on your video card again.

Still pretty Good!
Pros: No noisy fan. low power consumption. Supports DX9. Broad compatibility. Great instructions, documentation and support. Has DVI and TV OUT. Plenty of Video memory, supports high resolutions.
Cons: Can get very hot without aqdequate airflow. Not inexpensive. An older design that costs nearly as much as much newer cards.
Other Thoughts: Buy this card for a mini PC (like Shuttles) where low power consumption and low heat output are important considerations. For anything else, the hotter, more power hungry and vastly newer and faster x-1k series is probably a better choice.

Weaksauce Card For the Gamer
Pros: Low price, plays most pre-2004 games on fairly good settings, somewhat overclockable if you keep it cooled.
Cons: Gets very hot even when not overclocked, won't run any Source games, F.E.A.R, etc. on high settings without diving into sub-teen framerates. In HL2-Garry's Mod, I average 15-20 FPS with most settings on low-medium. Not a good buy for an up-to-date modern gamer.
Other Thoughts: Ordered a 6800XT and 450W PSU to replace this card. It is pretty reliable, but gets very hot. Will not run any newer games on high settings without killing your framerate. Spend the money on a GeForce 6800 or 7 sries card or a Radeon X1K series card.

Great old card
Pros: This is a great low cost silent card, excellent in my htpc since it is silent. This was my gaming card before getting sli. I had mine overclocked to 475mhz core and 250mhz mem and ran games such as doom3 with all high settings at around 60fps at all time.
Cons: Card is showing age with the new games that have come out
Other Thoughts: This is about the best card that you can get if you aren't a hardcore gamer and are looking for a crisp s-video out! I now have 2 evga 7600gt's and their tv out isn't nowhere as clear as the radeon 9550!

Great buy for a budget AGP rig.
Pros: Great for overclocking. I have mine running at 400.85 core and 230.46 memory. It can run things that are up to date, but nothing with high graphic demands. Card produces very little heat for being overclocked. I have never had mine overheat even at the extreme clocks it is running at. Even with stock cooling!
Cons: Outdated and a run of the mill card, even in its day. I paid 125 for mine as an effort to get rid of a 64mb Nvidia. ATI is very picky and I have had to replace the drivers many times. Few Pipelines, and low speed memory.
Other Thoughts: Wont play Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine. I personally dont care, but my girlfriend seems to love older games.
Those 7900GTX XXX cards look pretty slick :)

Cons: runs the bards tale great but slows down when a when around 15 to 20 ai are on the screen at once.
Other Thoughts: i bought this product from a warehouse store and payed 30 dollars more than i would have payed on newegg but otherwise great!i realy should have bought it online.kitsun foxfire at your service

No overheating Problems so far
Pros: I've noticed several reviews that made me concerned about the possible overheating of this card. I usually run my computer 24/7, rarely it gets turned off. My case is fairly well cooled, I have a huge cyclone fan on my athlon chip, a stock front case fan, and a large rear fan, with filters on front and rear fans. It has been running none stop for 9 days now, and I've had zero overheat issues.
Cons: none to date

This card is not worth the money
Pros: This card is more than adequate for a midlevel system. However for any other budget gamers out there this card is not really worth it. I can play FEAR on it at medium settings and have it run incredibly smooth.
Cons: For anyone looking to do some moderatley serious gaming on this card stay away. The card can overheat when you use it for extended periods of time and it won't be able to play any of the new games coming out.
Other Thoughts: Save your money invest $xxx+ and buy yourself a newer card such as the X1600 or a 6600 or better it will be worth it in the long run. I am already looking to replace this card

Pros: This card has been very reliable for me (not overclocked).
Cons: Not a gamer's card. Good for everyday use and maybe some light gaming.

Great budget card
Pros: I don't know what the other reviewers are talking about, but this card has ran good and stable for me. I am able to run CoH and CoV at highest rendering and detail without a hiccup. Also Doom3 is running 24fps for me, which is not bad for a $xx card. I went from an ati 64mb ddr card to this one and I am impressed. I also would like to add that it was a breeze to install.
Cons: None yet. I havent hooked anything to the DVI yet, or tried the dual monitor, but I will be tackling that next.

Look Elsewhere Gamers
Pros: Better than integrated graphics. GAMERS DO NOT BUY!
Cons: Only 4 PixelPipelines. Slow clock speed even when overclocked. 3D mark is below 2000. Plays doom 3 at 1280x768 with low settings at an average of 8FPS! Wow is all I have to say.
Other Thoughts: Overclockable. I have this locked at +25%(312mhz core clock/ 245mhz ram clock)stable. Replaced heatsink with a very advanced heatsink/fan combo with lots thermal grease. I run this in my fiance's computer but she has to use mine to play sims 2 at high settings. Newegg Rocks.

Good Solid Card....
Pros: I didnt buy this from newegg, but its the same video card. Its a good card with many features, like dual monitor, and is good for light gaming, or at least in my experianc so far. I havent used it for much games and the games I have are not that demanding. Older games play well but newer ones will probobly only work on low to medium settings, depending on your other system specs. IS 128bit and has 256MB DRR.
Cons: Its over priced and it doesnt have a fan, but the card is still stable.
Other Thoughts: Its very overclockable but make sure you have a fan and proper cooling before doing so. If you are a heavy gamer and have more money, go with a nVIDIA 6 series card.

Average card for good price
Pros: The price is great and it's a very solid graphics card. Would recommend it to any multi-media user.
Cons: The gpu is very unstable with the stock passive heat sync on it. Had to replace it with a thermaltake A1919 active heat sync to keep it stable. Once I did that it screamed like a champ. The downside to that is that it's a roughly 40 dollar modification to a card that's not THAT reasonably well priced.
Other Thoughts: Not a card for heavy gamers unless you can also handle the GPU/Ram Syncs modifications. Not a considerably difficult thing to do, but it isn't cheap either.

Cons: If I come across one, I will post it.
Other Thoughts: If your looking into buying this card, then your makeing a good choice.. its a great buy, im happy.

Don't buy this, get a 6600gt for a few more $$
Pros: This card runs games like CoD2 and BF2 at medium settings.
Cons: Too expensive. No fan on GPU. All the cheaper 9550's have fans...? what gives?
Other Thoughts: I bought this card at a chain retailer, and got bent over. If you're going to spend this much money on this outdated card, don't. For like fifteen more dollars, or about 10% more, you can get a geforce 6600gt which beats this card so severely it isn't even a comparison.

Great card for common user.....
Pros: Good Card, plays most older games. Card is really quiet and runs Internet Explorer and all windows application quite well.
Cons: Not really for games. I used to own this card about 2 months ago. I am a hardcore gamer, like most of you that buy on newegg, but for that person that just likes to surf and play light games, this card is for you. If you are a hardcore gamer, I would invest in something better. Example I upgraded from this to an ATI Radeon x800GTO. Difference is huge, and I believe it was 100 bucks more. Once again if you are a true gamer, you would go for better.
Other Thoughts: The card itself is great, I mean it ran mechwarrior 4, Medal of Honor, Black and White 1, Half-life 1, Castle Wolfenstein, etc. Like I said older games, but runs those on full settings just great. I got around 40-60 fps with this card. Card is great for the common user. Reason for the 3 stars was well because I found something better. If you have the money and are a heavy gamer, go for a bigger bang. If you dont have the money and are a light gamer then get this card or something similar to this card.

Great Budget Card
Pros: Very Good Card for price. Runs CoD, CoD:UO, CoD2, and B&W2 at high settings.
Cons: Drivers needed to be updated to run B&W2
Other Thoughts: Overall this is a great card for it's price.

Pros: u can play anygame out there and get 50 fps without overclocking but the settings have to be on low. i play Bf2 Cod Coduo Cod2 great budget card.
Cons: get really hot playing Bf2 i got a fan to go in the pci slot below it to cool it off. now it doesnt crash that much when i play Bf2 for a couple of hours.

Good Card Overall
Pros: This is probably the easiest software overclockable card there is. I successfully o/ced the card to 400 Core/230 Memory (Dual Mem. 460) using ATITool (not included 3rd party software).
Cons: With my card o/ced, it runs very warm. There is no temperature sensor on the card so you have to guess or attatch one manually. There is no heat sinks on the memory so you will have to add heat sinks to o/c without trouble in the long run. There is no fan on the heat sink on the core. I had to add one (60mm?).
Other Thoughts: Overall, when I installed factory I was very pleased compared to my Nvidia Gforce 5200 Ultra (not a good card nowadays). 3DMark2001 - 2000 Points. Once I realized I could safely o/c it I was super satisfyed. 3DMark2001 - 11000 Points. Thats over 500% increase in performance. Not a bad choice for a budget card.

Good Overclocker, Must cool it!!
Pros: Great OVERCLOCKING I am currently at 374/224 vs the stock 250/200 -Makes a difference
Cons: The PRICE! I can't believe this thing sells for this much still. Granted its a nice card for the age, but for a little bit more you can get a nicer card from ATI i think.
Other Thoughts: Because I bought this thing a year ago, I am going to leave it in my machine to save myself $xxx because I want an x8xx series agp. If you get it, OVERCLOCK IT. I installed four fans around it to keep a tornado on it so it lasts cuz she gets hot without it.

Pros: Have not seen yet.
Cons: I bought this card from a local store, and use it for dual monitors: one LCD (primary), one CRT (secondary). Every time after the machine starts, the second monitor loses its setting: frequency and window size are changed. So, I have to reset them to make the monitor to work properly. Also, it takes much longer to bring up Settings-> Advanced setup window comparing to my other video card. It is not better than my other card, but cost much more.

Decent Card
Comments: I actually bought this card at another place (sorry guys) and am pleased with it. Writing this review for the benefit of other people who might be thinking about buying this card. For the record, this is a lot better than an Asus 128MB 9550 that I had, which was absolutely horrible. This does 3D fairly well. I can run Mall Tycoon 2 at 1600x1200. Other games around the same system requirements run fine too. These games run without a hiccup. The software is good. Only complaint is no included DVI adapter. Oh, yes, this has dual 400MHz DACs for anyone who is interested.

Great value
Comments: For the price, this card delivers. I ran Half-Life 2 after just buying it and had a lot of settings either maxed or high. Battlefield 2 does well except for the dynamic shadows effects. Just got F.E.A.R. and this card can even perform well on that. For the price, can't be beat. Easy to install too.

could be better...
Comments: It's an alright card for games like Quake 3 and Unreal Tournament or lower. It will run Far Cry pretty decent but not on high quality without a little lag, regardless of your CPU speed. Im running this card with a 1.66 ghz AMD Athlon XP and 1 gig of DDR and I cant get it to run Quake 4 or Doom 3 sufficiently. I recommend this for someone who's mom will buy it for them like me, but I plan to go for the ExxA Gxxorce 6800GT. It make cost twice as much but its about 3 times better. This card also doesn't have a GPU fan which makes it a little warmer than it should be. Luckily I have about 4 fans keeping my case cool enough that it wont overheat the card.

Comments: Ok, i bought one at best buy (133.00) and well i can say its a good card, i get an average of 40fps on FARCRY, bu guess what? ive only got 256mb ddr ram, so if i put 512 in, im sure it will run way beter, plus i have a celeron (celeron sucks) well if ya want to have a bujet card, go with this, but save the money and get a 6800, they are wayy better

Comments: Great card, just picked one up at a different seller. Can'tsay enough good things about ATI. Got this to replace a 64mb ATI Radeon All-in-Wonder 8500dv. Noticed extreme improvement immediately. I'm a Diablo2 fanatic, it ran choppy before in higher levels, but now they run like a hot knife through butter with this card.

So far so good
Comments: Bought this to replace a MSI GForce 5600XT-VTDR128 that went bad after only 11 months of light use (I rarely OC my PC, and the most demanding 3D games I play are Tiger Woods 2005 and Sims 2).
I first installed it in my PC and everything went smoothly. Then, I decided to upgrade my 6-year old son's PC since his graphics capability was decidedly lacking. Out of my PC came the 9550, and into my son's PC it went. Into my PC went an ATI Radeon 9800 Pro.
Everything is working like a charm. Improving my son's PC from integrated on the Mobo 16MB graphics to an ATI Radeon 9550 made me a hero in his eyes for a few moments. I noticed a huge improvement in my games when I switched from the 5600XT to the 9550. Tiger Woods ran very, very well, and I noticed details that were not present before. Also, the PC case and my Northbridge chip didn't run any hotter with the 9550 than they did with the 5600XT (but man, does the 9800 Pro raise the temp about 4-6 degrees C!!).
This is a good card for people who do not want to spend a lot of money, yet still want some good performance. Technical specs: 250MHz Core Clock and 400MHz RAM Clock along with 4 pixel pipelines for the 9550.
Summary: Easy to install, "so far so good" low-midrange performance at a fair price.
Note: Don't know if anyone cares, but the AGP slot on my PC works at 8x, and the slot on my son's Mobo goes only to 4x. The 9550 worked fine on both Mobos.
