Good little card
Pros: This card was for my brother. Plays Halo 2, CS:S, and a few other older games with no problem. It's no Crysis card, but that wasn't expected either. For an average build or lower powered users, this card is just fine.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: Decent card for a good price. No complaints.

Asus EN8500GT TOP/HTP/256
Pros: Quiet, good video, good price. Good little card performs better than I had hoped.
Cons: None for the card so far.
Other Thoughts: This is not the top of the line card for hard core gamers. So do not whine about quality. This card does quite well for normal use, with some gaming on the side. Just download newer drivers from nvidia and you'll be ready to go. I'll update further down the road.

Nice, but not to Nice
Pros: Works well for everyday use. Will run your videos, photos, cruising the net. Very average game performance. Running COD4 on this video card was very choppy and very poor compared to my other system with a WC'ed 8800GTX. But you get what you pay for.
Cons: Very average game performance. Running COD4 on this video card was very choppy and very poor compared to my other system with a WC'ed 8800GTX. But you get what you pay for.
Other Thoughts: It just died on my today so I'm not to happy about that. However it's under a year so NewEgg is still there for me! Hopefully the return process will go smooth and they will take care of me.
Manufacturer Response:Dear Valued Customer, Please contact our Technical Support Department at http://vip.asus.com/eservice/techserv.aspx and reference case number "NE282075" so that we may get more details about your system configuration and assist you in resolving these issues you are experiencing. WOW!!!!!
Pros: Worked great. This is my first video card and I think it works very nice. I play guild wars on all high settings and Crysis on medium settings and it still looks nice it has not crashed on me yet. I'm not into overclocking so i don't know how well that works.
Cons: It's kinda big by the look of it. but thats not a problem for me. It might be if you wanted to SLI.
Other Thoughts: I heard that its better to get the drivers from nvidias web site because the ones on the CD don't work to well. This is a great card for its price.

Good Card
Pros: - Cheap - Overclocks Well - Good Heatsink - No 6/8 Pin Power Connector Needed
Cons: The memory won't overclock on it more but nothing a $8 pack of heatsinks can't fix.
Other Thoughts: Standard Speeds:
Clock.......: 600MHz Memory...: 700MHz Shader....: 1296MHz
Overclocked:
Clock.......: 760MHz Memory...: 725MHz Shader....: 1641MHz

Great Card, Great Price
Pros: This card runs great, fast, cool, and ASUS quality. Installed in an Athlon64 4000+ with 1GB of PC3200 RAM and the system plays COD4 on medium Settings flawlessly!
Great card for the cheap gamer.
Cons: None, for the price this card can't be beat.
Other Thoughts: 8500GT cards aren't generally great performers, but with the slight factory-overclocking this little card outshines the rest within the price range.

Decent Card
Pros: This is a mid level range card for the normal gamer. Its plays most of what i throw at it but tends to have a problem with the more intense games, such as Assassin's Creed, etc
Cons: It wont play the higher end games
Other Thoughts: This is a 512mb card even though it says 256 it will come up in your computer as 512mb, which is nice =] extra memory

Piece of Junk...2 time loser
Pros: Quiet fan.
Cons: First card had bad memory from the start. Occasional dramatic color shifts. Assumed it was a driver issue. Card eventually died after 6 months. Blackscreened. Newegg replaced with new card. 3 months later, the replacement card started doing the same thing. I am an A+ certified computer technician, so its not like I am a computer novice.
Other Thoughts: Newegg took care of my problem after the second card failed. Been with the Egg for 8 years. You will find no better service...ANYWHERE. Thanks Newegg..

Pros: Over 4000 points of textures in PC Wizard 3D rating. Very fast, utilize automatically system memory. With 2 GB of system memory 256 MB in XP , 768 in Vista.
Cons: If the memory settings are not correct the card can low down the speed because the shared memory.
Other Thoughts: Alone in the dark 5!! plus others stuffs.

avoid like the plague
Pros: worked great for a while, nice cooler, asus brand
Cons: first card blew itself out, got an RMA from asus, replacement card caught fire and ruined my motherboard which was an ASUS P5K.
Other Thoughts: ASUS so far not very helpful in warrantying the card and my antec sonta 3 is ruined due to smoke damage

BSoD
Pros: Price, and Fast
Cons: ASUS Drivers caused BSoD related too notorious nv4_disp.dll error in WinXP32bit, finally resolved issue downloading latest drivers from nVidea web site, though after researching this many folks are plagued by this and are not so lucky to resolve it as I did.
Other Thoughts: Skip CD from ASUS and go strait to nVidea web site and you may not need the Tylenol................

Beware of the ASUS drivers
Pros: Price, Good performance once you sort out the driver issues
Cons: ASUS Drivers caused BSoD due too problematic nv4_disp.dll which some people cant resolve.......SO DONT USE THE ASUS DRIVER CD which comes with the card. Go strait to nVidia site and download newest drivers. You might need to use Driver Cleaner Pro to remove any remnants of the ASUS driver if you use the CD from hell
Other Thoughts: None

good card
Pros: 1400mhz memory clock great cooler runs stable and many games on high
Cons: don't expect much from crysis with this at a 1440x900 res. the heatsink/fan take up one of my pci slots which is kinda annoying seeing as how my board only has 2. nvidia likes to jack prices up because they think they are the best all the time.
Other Thoughts: wish i'd of stayed with ati. they are usually cheaper and still have great performance.

Cons: Runs at least on 50C while playing games, little hott but nothing to worry about.Cant play Guitar Hero III full graphics..
Other Thoughts: What is the extra hook up on the top of the card for?

en8500gt still good
Pros: good price/performance, smooth install. Still working without any noticeable performance drops.
Cons: Drivers/card performance can blue screen at times. The card along the connection pins showed burn/ worn marks on them, took pencil eraser to remove. The r/g/b output does not work in windows xp? the video works ok.
Other Thoughts: Removed the heatsink and put on some thermal grease since the card ran near 50 celsius most of the time. Use the whql certified drivers only.

Good Little Card
Pros: Nice card. Nvidia has well behaved drivers (usually). Can't beat the performance of this card compared to price
Cons: I'm running Vista and I downloaded the latest drivers, but watch out for the drivers that come with this on XP. GamerOSD is horrid. If you install every utility that comes with your Nvidia MB & GC, you'll have four utilities trying to performance tune your computer...doesn't work:-)
Other Thoughts: Mail in Rebates suck...wish they'd just take it straight off the price. If you don't put everything in the MIR exactly as desired, you get the envelope back nine years later with a please return...but...oh wait...the 30 days are past...oh well...guess no rebate for you.

More than expected - A good upgrade for little $$$
Pros: Easy install - on Win XPPro S3 - immediately identified - loaded OEM software/drivers.. no hangups or conflicts w/ imbedded ATI graphics. Playing Oblivion again at highest settings, no lags.... fluid movement against multiple opponents. For the little money a good upgrade.
Cons: The retail box wouldn't fit in my motorcycle saddlebags. Not much of a con but it's all I had.
Other Thoughts: ASUS should offer video card upgrades for those of us who leave feed backs (good or bad).. We are preforming a service for those looking.

ok but not good as it says
Pros: it runs most games fine im glad i got this 8500gt over all the others. for the price is good card.
Cons: the memory clock is not 1400 i cant even over lock to it the most i can get is 850mhz thats over clocking
Other Thoughts: plays css with average of like 70fps i dont know lowest i got on css is like 40fps highest is 110fps is a nice card will play cod4 good but not perfict smooth. i payed 80$ for it witch for 80$ i wouldnt get this card agin with all the new cards out but for price it is now id still go for it ;) can get a better pci-e 2.0 card for 80$ now.

Pros: ddr3 ram, does not require 6pin power, runs crysis on medium/high setings, plays bioshock on maxed setings, better performance then my old ati x300se, plays every game I have ever tried perfectly
Cons: uses 2 slots, vga adapter does not show red, tv out does not work either
Other Thoughts: I ordered the open box version for $40, card came in the mail 1 week after i ordered it, ups left it on the side of the road by the mail box while it was raining and claimed to have been door delivery. The vga port on the card is bad and does not work(shows no red) becous of open box did not come with the dvi-vga, had to buy a dvi-vga to make the card work. save yourself time/money do not buy the open box one, i could not aford a new card so i had to get the open box wish i had not

Great low end card
Pros: More than adequate HSF. Has GDDR3. Doesn't need a PCI-e power plug.
Cons: Runs a little warm. Does NOT work with an Accelero S2 passive HSF; it doesn't have the correct mounting holes. I have not tested the S1.
Seems it corrupted video a couple times, seems to have been driver issues though.
Other Thoughts: Great card. I got it open box and am very pleased. After upgrading to an E7200 C2D my framerates in CoH improved greatly; I'm still GPU limited some though.

Very nice
Pros: It's quiet and it was quick and easy to install. Works beautifully for the small games I play and the movies I watch.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: I put it into a Dell Inspiron 530 and had no problems with software or drivers. I do suggest going to nVidia's website and updating the drivers for it.

Great Card/ SLI Performance
Pros: I originally bought this card to play my usual FPS games with, and to be honest, I don't know what everyone is complaining about. This card handled everything I threw at it, from COD4 even to Crysis. Now I am not saying it is a beast by any means, but if you run two of these cards in SLI (like I am currently), then you will see average 50FPS-70FPS in COD4, pretty impressive for a card with a very low stream processor count.
Cons: None! I have owned one of these cards for 7 months with no problem, and I picked up a second one OPEN BOX from Newegg to complete my SLI setup with no problems. I had absolutely no driver issues under either XP or VISTA, and I have never experiences a BSOD during owning this card.
Other Thoughts: Price drops on other cards have made this card virtually obsolete, but for $60, and $35 more for an open box item, this is one hell of performance for under $100.

Driver BSOD's
Pros: cant really say
Cons: Here is the deal with ASUS, they dont test their drivers for compatibility with Windows. I imagine ASUS knows their drivers can, and will, cause BSOD but they dont want to spend the time fixing it (ASUS customer support is notoriously bad). So i can comment on the functionality of the actual card but the onyl way to get it to work consistently is to install a bare bones non ASUS driver and run the card at normal speeds (might be able to oc through BIOS).
Other Thoughts: First of all ASUS sucks for not making drivers compatibly with Windows (i run XP sp2b 32 bit). I am sure the ASUS drivers were the problem on my system and now i have RMA'ed this to get another companies product, save yourself time and anguish and go BFG or someone else with a better track record.

Pros: Easy to install. Great price with the rebate. Works with 350 Watt PSU. Great for simple computer stuff.
Cons: Can't handle Counter Strike Source at all even with low settings, it has severe frame rate drops making it unplayable. When I switch it to ultra low a lot of the objects in the game have a weird violet shading to them. Unfortunate cause my 6800 GT used to able to do about 30-40 fps CS Source on high. Didn't even try Battlefield 2, which I used to play on medium settings.
Other Thoughts: You can play Portal on low settings though. My system is an old Dell 8400 with a P4 3.4, 2 gigs of cheap 533 ram. I guess this is great if you just need a cheap replacement for a fried video card and don't really want to spend a lot along with replacing your PSU for an 8800.

Impressive Card
Pros: runs every general purpose program and older title I can throw at it with aplomb. (I don't overclock, but it seems to run cool enough for casual gaming, at least.
Cons: It's not an 8600 or an 8800... Seriously, if you want a high-performance card, spend the extra few bucks on the Next couple models up, it will be worth it. Oh, and i am having trouble running BFME II, think it might be a support issue, waiting to hear back from EA tech support. Fair warning, some older titles might not support this particular card.
Other Thoughts: DP35DP mobo, E6850 CPU, 4 GB Kingston RAM, 80 GB WD HDD. Works very well

Great card
Pros: Runs general purpose programs with aplomb (Internet Explorer, MSOffice). Runs older titles (Diablo II) with little lag (which may be because the game IS so old, not certified for such a fast card?)
Cons: Having issues with battle for middle earth II, but I think it's something deeper than just the card. utilities are cheesy
Other Thoughts: overall a very good card. I don't play the latest titles on ultra-high settings, but for anyone's casual use, this is the perfect card

ASUS EN8500GT
Pros: Price, size.
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: AMD 64 Athlon 3500+, 1GB RAM, 7200 hard drive, HP amberine m motherboard.
Great all around video card. Command and Conquer 3 at full/high settings without a skip. More intensive games like Company of Heroes, only medium settings.

Great Card for GP
Pros: This is an excellent "General Purpose" video card and should be rated as a "General Purpose" video card - not a gaming card. The card comes factory over clocked, is stable, and does not run at high temps. Not everyone needs or wants a high end video card costing hundreds of dollars and this card is perfect for them.
Cons: The only cons I could come up with would be if I purchased this card expecting to run the latest and greatest games on their highest settings with high frame rates, or if I was expecting to do professional video editing with multiple layers of special effects. Of course if I purchased this card expecting such things, then I would belong in the "con" list, not the video card.
Other Thoughts: It is important that you do your research before selecting the parts to configure a computer system and while everyone's thoughts and opinions are needed on these user review sites, you should be honest about your experience so those with none to little understand that your comments may not be accurate. This is a great card for a system that will be utilized for web browsing, word processing, and even general photo editing such as cropping and color adjustments. It is not designed or even marketed for high end gaming or 3d workstation use and should not be rated as such or criticized for failing to meet that level of standard.

very impressive
Pros: amazing.. especially for the price
Cons: runs pretty warm, the utility software is a bit lame
Other Thoughts: I am not a huge gamer, but do enjoy playing a few gpu-hungry games, this is by far the best video card I've ever owned, sure, it won't compete with $250 cards, but for well under $100, this is incredible.

Plenty good for Source Engine
Pros: So far it can run every Source game at Max settings super smooth (FPS is close to 100 for most Source games). CS, HL2(Ep1+2), TF2, Portal, DOD and all the Mods I have tried run flawlessly. Came with a racing game. Too bad I don't care and haven't even tried it.
Cons: Not sure it's worth the price anymore since the 8600's have come down. Has trouble running Company of Heroes in DX10 mode in anything other then a 1v1. But I can almost Max the settings out in DX9 mode. Although it will chug if u like to stare at Arty Barrages. Heatsink blocks one of my PCI slots. Ever since the May Driver Update I have been getting a lot of crashes in Red Orchestra, although I don't really care anymore since I'm building a new Rig.
Other Thoughts: If all you want to do if play HL2 and the other source games (at Max settings) this Card is more then enough but it's certainly not future proof and although it probably will be able to run Left4Dead it's pretty dated. If u are looking for something a little more substantial go with the 8600s and 8800s.

Cons: No cabling, save for a S-Video to component cable.

Fantastic!
Pros: The card plays last generation games no sweat. I'm also an avid World of Warcraft player and this thing plays WoW with full settings and 6x Anti-aliasing with 30 FPS in Shatt and 150 (peaking 180) FPS in the world. Along with this sytem I bought 2GB of OCZ PC667 Reaper RAM and an ASUSP5K-E/WIFI-AP motherboard. This is a fantastic build.
Cons: None

Looks good onHDTV
Pros: Card looks great on my Samsung 61" DLP HDTV, using the VGA 15 to connect it to the TV, great resolution, setting at max, better quality than my DVD player using component connections.
Cons: not really a con, but as usual went down in price 10.00 after I bought it.

Disappointed
Pros: It runs fine for most applications and games. I don't play the very high end games so this works fine for me.
Cons: This card failed horribly for me. I was playing an online game and a some electrical componet on it failed and I had a FLAME on inside of my machine. When I say flame I mean a FLAME not sparks. I have owned this for 7 months now so I will RMA it but I hope it doesn't fail again when I am not at my PC. If I could get my money back and upgrade I would.

Best Value Card Out There
Pros: I would have to say the best speed for the price. I've thrown everything I can think of at it, and it runs great. Get's alittle jumpy when I crank up the graphics in Crysis, but BioShock and other similar games run on highest graphic settings without a jump. I definitly recommend this card. It's also SLI.
Cons: Big. Well... Bigger than what I expected. I only have an Epox nForce4 MF4-J3/G, so only one PCI-E x16, 2 PCI-E x1, and 3 PCI. The heatsink and fan take up one of my PCI slots.
Other Thoughts: I'd definitly say that the good outweighs the bad.

great
Pros: great card, very reliable, and CHEAP. have been overclocking it for a long time now and it works well but see other thoughts. newegg rocks!
Cons: can only play crysis at low
Other Thoughts: dont overclock this card beyond 700/1600. if you do some really wierd/trippy stuff happens in games and im sure its not good for the card. otherwise its great!

Improves Video Edits
Pros: I stopped using my Intel onboard video when frame transitions just were not smooth. It solved my issue with flickers and/or jumpy dissolves. That was the goal.
Cons: It is big. It takes up two bays, so make sure you have the space for it.
Other Thoughts: The rebate helped sell me on this unit, but I have always had good luck with ASUS. I usually look for their products as an alternative to solve the issue at hand, but I did download the most current drivers from NVIDIA. It is their guts with an ASUS name.

Awesome Card
Pros: This was a great card. Very fast and reliable. It's cheap and performs great. What else can I say?
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: The fan is a bit large so it blocks the PCI slot, but who uses those anyways.

great value
Pros: For the money, this is a great video card and perhaps the best value around. I don't play a lot of games, but I play wow, oblivion and bioshock right now and it can handle those games fine. In wow with everything cranked on high and a 1400x900 resolution, I get about 70fps in 25 man raids. In oblivion, I play on ultra high with the same resolution with zero lag. Bioshock is set to the defaults (which is high/ultra high) and it is buttery smooth.
Cons: Takes up two slots due to its size..
Other Thoughts: This is a steal for the money.

Not top o' the line but great value!
Pros: Big fan keeps it cool, well cool enough (50c idle, I need more case cooling) the lack of stream processors is good an bad, good for overclocking, bad for high end games. This thing overclocks like no other! Core-700 mem-1600!!
Cons: not an 8800series
Other Thoughts: ASUS M2N-SLI mobo, AMD Athlon 5000+ BE(OC'D @ 3.0Ghz),Zalman AM2 9500, 4GB DDR2 6400 Mushkin RAM, ASUS EN8500GT TOP 265MB GDDR3 OC'D, COOLER MASTER 500W PSU, COOLER MASTER Centurion 5 case, and some old IDE hard drive from my old EMachine(plan on replacing soon).

Works For Me!
Pros: I have got the "brownest thumb" there is when it comes to computers. I can fry the CPU, memory, and/or motherboard in an instant and have...so when I say "the installation was straightforward and fairly easy", it really was. The directions on the CD made sure I didn't screw up. I even updated the driver to the most current without problems. A very good, inexpensive (with rebate too), VISTA-ready, DirectX 10 card. Becuase of my "brown thumb", I don't attempt overclocking, but that looks fairly intutive as well. For me, a non-pro gamer, it's a great card.
Cons: ASUS.com's stone age download rate to get the updated driver. It took 77 minutes to get a 72MB file. I think they still use a 2400 baud modem or something.
Other Thoughts: NewEgg you Rock! 72 hours from my order time to my front door as promised.

Good price good card
Pros: I needed to get a video card that was a good bargain, yet able to do all i needed it to do.I don't over clock so getting this EN8500 gt already over clocked is a plus.Had no problems installing it and it is running just fine.It will do until i get an 8800gtx,i have an Asus p5kc mb with 4gb AData mem.Intel E4600 cpu Asus EN8500 card Asus V70 fan heat sink Asus light scribe 20X DVD burner a 575 Watt psu all in a Raidmax Iceberg ATX case.
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: Newegg as always good price fast delivery. It might not be the best card, but for a new build for a cheep price with plans of upgrading later this card is ideal.

Great Card
Pros: Amazing card for the price point, runs everything I throw at it nicely
Cons: Upon installing the drivers that came with the card, I was plagued by BSOD every time I started back up, booted into safe mode and removed the drivers, and installed the ones directly from the website and it worked perfectly.
Other Thoughts: Don't bother installing the drivers on the disk, just head strait to nvidia and download the latest drivers if you want to avoid the BSOD issue

GREAT CARD
Pros: GREAT CARD RUNS EVERYTHING SMOOTH. IDLE TEMP IS 40C AND WHEN I'M GAMING AT 49C. RAN CALL OF DUTY ON HIGH AND CRYSIS ALMOST ON HIGH COULD RUN BOTH ON HIGHEST BUT NEED TO SLI. SO I'LL ORDER ANOTHER ONE SOON.
Cons: FAN DOESNT NOT HAVE BLUE LED'S TO MATCH MY CASE AND ITS TOO QUIET I HAVE TO CHECK TO MAKE SURE THE FAN IS ROTATING.
Other Thoughts: NEEDS LEDS AND I NEED A NEW PROCESSOR TO MAX IT OUT.

Pros: this card can run everything I throw at it with smooth frame rates. (usually 60 and as high as 220)run's like a banchee on caffene.
Cons: runs pretty warm. 50C on idle. and 70C during gaming.
Other Thoughts: the Nview software is great for putting life back into older games like quake 3. HUGE step in graphics performance from IGP.

Absolutely great card for the price!
Pros: There's a lot to love about this card. For an entry- to mid-level gaming card, it performs very well. I am only a casual gamer, but this card will run several recent games in 1680x1050 on high detail on my machine (E4400 946G/ICH7, 4 GB DDR2) with no choppiness or slow-down whatsoever. I'm very impressed at the quietness of the card -- it's very cool under load and the fan is absolutely unnoticeable.
Cons: Heatsink/fan will DEFINITELY eat up the PCI slot next to it, but this is the case with any decent graphics card nowadays.
Other Thoughts: I can't imagine a better card for $55 (after rebate)!

Great Video Card!
Pros: Quiet, fast, powerful, and cheap. Perfect for the budget gamer, just got this card this morning and I already love it!
Cons: Just one con I found, this card is big, and it takes up an extra PCI slot because of it's fan. But other than that minor set back, NONE!
Other Thoughts: Current PC Build: AMD Opteron 175 Denmark 2.2Ghz Dual Core, 2 gigs of ram, and this card. Also tried this card on two of my favorite games Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and Unreal Tournament 3. Was able to play both of these games on High Detail, with No slow down, this Card is a MUST for budget gamers, I highly Recommend it.

8500GT
Pros: Not a bad deal for the money. I should have gone for the 9600GT. But It works.
Cons: I have heard that the board componets have a tendency of failing. but so far no issues.
Other Thoughts: I used this card because it fit my buget. I'd avoid this card. It works great at first, but if the hardware failure is true it could be a bad choice.

Get two!
Pros: Had one of these running for about 5 months and decided to get another and see how they do in SLI. After running 3DMark05 with one and getting a 6903 I slapped the other in and ran a 10699! Not the best gaming card but for the money you just can't beat it.
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: Rig is AMD 64x2 5000, Foxconn C51XEM2AA-8EKRS2H, 2gig Corsair XMS DDR 800, Coolermaster 650 Realpower

Pros: Stable on Vista. Good graphics at a reasonable price.
Cons: After several months of normal office application and web surfing use with occasional gaming, one of the electronic components on the rear of the card failed and started throwing sparks in my case, also damaging my IDE cables.
Other Thoughts: I'd avoid this card. It works great at first, but if the hardware failure I incurred during idle operation is common to the rest of these cards, then they aren't safe enough for the consumer market. Several cables within my system were actually burned by this catastrophic hardware failure.

Nvidia 8500gt
Pros: good price, splendid driver does clear the picture in films, web watching. Do not need many watts in power supply to run smoothly.
Cons: the component video does not work, not 512mb.
Other Thoughts: The card could be even cheaper if the package they use to send the card in was smaller.
The game race the wtcc is not played much. This is a mid-par gaming card and good web, tv card.

Wow.
Pros: Have two of these SLI'd and Overclocked to their max rates with being stable. Can't tell the difference between them and my 8800 GTX. Doesn't require a PCI-E power connector either! Great fans on these babys - 50C at full load. Also Registers Memory size as 512MB instead of 256!
Cons: None really.
Other Thoughts: These are the best bang for your buck in this price range, next to the 7600 GTS - Which doesn't even overclock as well as this 8500. Also, there are 16 pipelines compared to the 7600's 12 which means 4 more random details in your games will be processed. Also, this card was made for DX10, 7600 isn't. Much better choice in my opinion.

Still a great card after 6 months
Pros: Even after 6 straight months of 24/7 usage, these cards still hold up very will under heavy loads. The quality of the fans on these things is unmatched on your typical graphics card of this price range. The fans are still whisper quiet after 6 solid months of use. I have two of these in SLI (GREAT COMBO) Seriously...these cards are the best value you can buy. The specs are awesome for the price.
Cons: Others may have not had this problem but after a few months, I started noticing a 10 degree rise in operating temp. There was hardly any dust on the fans or heatsincs. I just replaced the thermal grease with some arctic silver and all is well again.
Other Thoughts: My machine has not been shut down once other than the occasional restart for a solid 6 months (since it was built). The fans are still as quiet as the day I got them. The dust buildup is minimal compared to other cards.

A keeper
Pros: For reference, I don't use my PC for video games. I wanted good performance on desktop effects and movies. Used primarily for business applications. That said, the performance is outstanding for the price. Looks good - great performance!!!
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: Used on a Fedora 8 machine. Had to load Linux drivers but after that it rocks. What are you waiting for - buy one.

Wow
Pros: Fast and powerful. I can actually run Crysis very nicely with this card, and thats at 1680x1050 on a 22" monitor. Some settings on high, most on medium. Runs oblivion Flawlessly, BF2 is a must, and it plows it over.
Cons: NONE
Well, on second thought. A couple games dont recognize the card, and have some graphical issues. I installed the latest forceware by nVidia and it helped. But the card is still unrecognized.
Other Thoughts: SLI would be amazing. Cant get better for the price. I am so satisfied.

Pros: This card is amazing. I loaded Oblivion at 1440 X 900 resolution and high detail and it didn't even twitch. I'm running it on Chaintech VNF4 Ultra MB with a AMD 3000+ (1.8 Ghz) and 1 GB of DDR2 memory. What I'm saying is that this card is really cool.
Cons: None so far!

Happy Customer
Pros: Works better than expected. Bought it mainly for playing Oblivion and Battle for Middle-Earth 2 and runs them better than I had hoped (Oblivion on medium settings with occasional lags and BFME2 on ultra high without any problems at all).
GDDR3 ram. Only 8500 GT I saw anywhere that has it.
Good price.
Also, it works.
Cons: Won't run the most recent games, as far as I can figure, but I didn't buy it for that.
Other Thoughts: Using the card with a dual core 1.6 cpu and 2 gigs DDR2 ram.

It was ok......
Pros: It's quiet. Easy setup. About all I can say.
Cons: Gave me nothing but trouble. Getting random BSOD. This is the first time I have gotten a BSOD with Win XP. Tried and tested everything and basically zeroed in on this card. Tried drivers provided with the card and newer drivers. No luck. Reinstalled old card and no further BSOD. Gave up and returned for refund.
Other Thoughts: As always, Newegg's shipping and customer service is phenomenal.

Great Card for the Money
Pros: This card has performed great for me. It runs all the most recent games at a playable FPS on medium settings, which is sweet. If you're not in it for incredibly graphics quality, this'll do.
Cons: The S-Video/HDTV out will not detect my SDTV when using a little S-Video to composite converter. That sucks.
Other Thoughts: As another reviewer said, you can get way better performance out of an 8600GT for a little more money. I plan on SLI'ing an 8600GT with my current 8500GT, if that's possible.

Nice price
Pros: This card only costs 79$. It got a 4000 in 3dmark 06(total). Vista gave it a 5.9. It's also quiet. It's paired with 2 gigs or ram and a brisbane 2.1 65nm.
Cons: Huge heatsink.. but runs quiet.
Other Thoughts: I wonder what two of these in sli could do.

Pros: It does what it suppose to.
Cons: I'm not a gamer so to see how it really performs I can't help here.

Great video card
Pros: I dont know but my mobo shows a 512 of memory??? maybe because of the GDDR3.... anyway an excelent card , I dont think is noisy or hot my mobo is alaways at 35c and cpu at 38 idle using a AMD 6400 black edition a Asus M2N-SLI
Cons: Mail in rebate , I hope it works...
Other Thoughts: For the money I think is the best card out there

Blue Screen of Death (BSOD)
Pros: Quiet, cheap, and great Windows Vista performance ratings 5.2+. But...
Cons: After a few weeks the BSOD began occuring every few days during start up. It took me a couple weeks to pin the problem to this card as I had to eliminate other probable causes first.
Other Thoughts: I bet it is a driver issue. I tried several driver versions but had the same result. Too late for an RMA. Gotta eat this one. Back to ATI cards.

Decent, but do your homework first.
Pros: Budget priced GPU. Will run 3-4 year old games with ease. With some tweaking, you can achieve marginal performance on newer games, such as Call of Duty 4. COD4 ran on 800 X 600 on mid level settings, at 40-70 fps. Similar fps at 1280 x 800 with settings, like anti aliasing, turned off or set to low. Ran the Crysis demo on very low settings with playable results, though far from stunning. Also has a decent and reasonably quiet fan and heat sink, considering it's standard factory.
Cons: I was using this with a GIGABYTE GA-MA69GM-S2H motherboard, running XP. I never achieved a stable system with this particular video card installed. Under certain reproducible actions, I would blue screen and restart. I believe the root cause was a driver conflict with the AMD and ATI chipset drivers. After updating everything I could think of, in terms of drivers, and looking at the IRQ's, I gave up decided to return the card and buy an ATI.
Other Thoughts: I believe that the majority of the time, this could be a great card for someone who is semi into gaming. I'm still not completely sure if the card was defective or if it was just a matter of Nvidia drivers conflicting with chipset drivers or something else. Unfortunately I didn't have different motherboard to test it on. So what I would recommend is searching for similar setups to your own, to see if people have had problems with not just this card, but other Nvidia video cards. Conversely, I had a motherboard before that would not run ATI video cards. So by no means am I discouraging you or encouraging you towards one brand. Just do your homework.

Fantastic Card for price
Pros: stock core clock is 600MHz and can over clock to 700MHz!And GDDR3 memory(1.4 GHRz) to 1.6 GHRz! directX 10 support, and SLI compatible! this card can Perform!
Cons: i got fan running at 75% and it keeps it in idel at 48C (118F) but there is a sound card right above it..not alot of breathing room for the card. if i remove it i think it would be run cooler.
Other Thoughts: Expect the PCI slot next to the card not to be used the fan takes up the space. I highly recomend this card to anyone looking to build a good solid gameing computer that isnt un resonably priced. The game requiers steam to play...dont bother instaling it...

Pros: great price for this video card i can run all the new cod4, tf2 almost all the way up with no problems. this is also good for a card that doesn't need a new power supply to run
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: for this price range this is the best one you can buy.

It was Okay
Pros: Runs Alright
Cons: 8600gt performs 4X as well as this card for 10 dollars more. on top of this, even with the extremely HUGE Cooler, it still was having cooling issues.

Mikey LIkes It
Pros: Inexpensive solution to an expensive card melting down. Run my Warcraft perfectly, very quiet, no heat issues. What more could I ask for?
Cons: None yet. I've had the card a bit over 6 months now, I'm happy.

Don't bother
Pros: It's cheap
Cons: Noisy high speed fan, slow over-stressed GPU, easily fails with little or no load.
After purchasing this card I thought I was getting an OK deal for a non-gaming system. Boy was I wrong. This card is junk. After many weeks of trying to figure out why my system would randomly BSOD I discovered that it was this "not so great" video card.
Other Thoughts: Don't bother with this card. Save your money or buy something from ATI.

Cons: none

great card
Pros: Works great, keeps cool, and runs the games I want. (Fable/Portal)
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: great card for the price. Glad I didn't listen to my husband and get an expensive ATI card. I love games, but not the graphic intensive ones he's into.

Pros: I'm not a huge gamer, but it does what i need it to do. The fan is extremely quiet, was easy to install, and it's cheap. Great card overall.
Cons: None so far. Software that came with the card that monitors the temp is pretty basic. Haven't tried overclocking yet, so i have nothing bad to say!

Jack up and boink!
Pros: Overall this is a decent card and should do well for most uses. The fan is fairly quiet and is a decent alternative for a heat pipe option.
Cons: It has totally borked out on several occasions, but only when the settings for the games I had been playing are really jacked up.
Other Thoughts: If you are going to get a card for serious gaming, look at a different card.

It's A SLi Card
Pros: ON ASUS WEBSITE!
Question
Can EN8500GT series VGA card support nVidia SLi technology?
Answer
Yes, EN8500GT series VGA card does indeed supports nVidia SLi technology via software implementation.
Note: SLi bridge is not required to enable nVidia SLi technology with a pair of EN8500GT series VGA cards.
Cons: No PC games with 360 or PS3 graphics :(
Other Thoughts: Comes with the bridge also. Gotta look at included software for the ability to OC, not sure, but I think it comes OC'd being 600Mhz, not 450Mhz.

not quite what was expected
Pros: nice cheap card, ran some of my older games well.
Cons: not quite up to par. Im a graphics designer, and while this card is better than onboard graphics, it didn't quite handle cs3 the way I would have liked. I also play oblivion which I felt didn't run as well as it should have.
Other Thoughts: I'm upgrading from a burnt out radeon 1650pro, which ran all my apps perfectly, and ran oblivion like a dream. I'm not sure why it ran so bad with this card. I rma'd and will now be getting an 8800gt:)

Video Issues with KOTOR 2 game
Pros: Easy to install. Great Price Works fine with Nvidia drivers for the GeForce 8500GT cards. Once I uninstalled the drivers that came with the card and installed the Nvidia drivers that I found on their website my system was very stable. This has been one of the most stable PCs I have built in a long time. My PC is an AMD Athlon x2 6000+ on a Gigabyte MB with 3 GB of Kingston 667 RAM. I usually use Asus or MSI motherboards but, I was on a budget at the time. This Gigabyte MB performed better than I had expected. Over all the videocard was a great buy. Before you install this card I'd setup a restore point in Windows. If you have problems with the driver take the PC back to the restore point and download the Drivers from Nvidias website. Also some games may benefit from registry fixes for this video card.
Cons: The drivers that came with the card cause a little instabillity with the PC and the video was flickering in some games
Other Thoughts: Make sure you know what your are doing before you edit your registry. It is very dangerous. I'm a computer\network technician so my knowledge related to the registry and hardware\software is much greater than the average person.

nice for the price
Pros: was easy to install in my dell inspiron 531, replaced my factory 8300gs card that came with my computer. the diffrence was amazing,
Cons: plays cod4 good but not at a setting much over over 800X600 if i do it starts to lag slightly
Other Thoughts: the original 8300 gs card from dell played cod4 but not with the settings all the way up, had to set some things to low. with this new 8500gt i have all the settings to extra and it plays fine just cant go much over 800X600 or it starts to lag. this card will also play crysis at a good setting. this card will alow you to play all the new games (directX10) for a very cheap price for those of us that dont have the big bucks its a great card
