Awesome Card....Lacks Support /Drivers
Pros: Card has awesome specs, one of highest cards for AGP except those with 1GB of RAM. Great box and solid construction on card. Comes with best accessories as well.... DVI->VGA, DVI->HDMI, S-VID->Component. Supports HDCP and theoretically can handle HD / Blu-ray
Cons: Lack of support and incompatibile drivers
Other Thoughts: Take a week of work to install this card Took me 4 days to get a working OS/Driver combo. Tried Vista x86 Ultimate with cd drivers-nothing, showed up as HD3600 but drivers could not start Tried XP Media Cntr SP3 with CD...nope downloaded ATI drivers 8.3-8.9, 9.5, 9.6, 9.8 and nothing worked not even AGP hot fixes managed to get Vista Ultimate partially working with XP drivers from 8.3 but no catalyst and then it crashed. Also tried Vista Home Prem x86 and Win 7 Beta 2-nope Finally got XP MC SP3 working with 8.12 agp hotfix for XP 32bit. Try this site for an archive of all past and present ATI drivers including most hotfixes: http://www.ngohq.com/home.php?page=files&go=cat&dwn_cat_id=18 Tested with dxdiag direct draw direct 3d passed running vidmem test haven't tested games yet and no HD tv to test hdmi :( XP SP3 steps: 1. Clean Install OS 2. Install Mobo drivers 3. Update Windows 4. Install agp hotfix 8.12 5. install Catalyst CC and 8.3 HDMI Audio driver 6. restart

Pros: If you looking to recycle old PC components into a HTPC and you want hdmi with sound, this may be your best bet for an AGP card. It is entirely noiseless.
Cons: The heat sink is HUGE. It sticks up at least an inch higher than a typical card. It won't fit in a low or even standard height media case. Measure first and save yourself some grief.

Does't play well with nVidia chipsets
Pros: Would Have been a great card If not for my nvidia chip set (msi k7n2 motherboard).
Cons: nVidia chipsets hog the CPU trying to allocate an IRQ to the HD audio device. Not only do you not get sound but also a 30% CPU hit(which can crash your system)(YEAH!). IRQARB: ACPI BIOS does not contain an IRQ for the device in PCI slot 0, function 1. Please contact your system vendor for technical assistance.
Other Thoughts: Would have been nice if the product mentioned this before I spent $70. THANKS RADEON for the heads up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I like Radeon too.

Complete install torture! No support from ASUS at all!
Pros: Looks cool! Nice heatsink! Love the box art!
Cons: Will not install without lockups, BSODs, install error messages. I repeated complete new XPProSP2 installs, tried every suggestion from the ASUS and several other websites and cannot get this card to work. The error symptoms change constantly. Summary, go to the ASUS website and you can find drivers that have been updated in a year. That's a lack or support. Then look at the users that have pulled their schphinkter hair out trying to get this cool highly specked out card to work. I've had no sleep in 3 days trying to get it to work. It's RMA'd back to newegg for a refund! Total waste of time.
Other Thoughts: Newegg needs to remove this card from its inventory.
Of course just to verify, i've installed 2 other cards that have worked for years back in the system and I will stick to them. GeF 5900xt and a 6200.

Used for 28 days.
Pros: 1. Easy installation (uninstall old driver then use disc to install). 2. Plays mid-end graphic games. 3. Excellent picture quality via 42" Samsung LCD TV and 17" Dell LCD monitor. *This card will handle and exceed normal tasks.
Cons: 1. Overclocking is not recommended. 2. High-end graphic games crash. 3. Heat pipe and other cooling components get hot-to-the-touch (something inside my head just says "this is not right"). *Works best if and only if ROOM temperature remains cool.
Other Thoughts: P4 3.2GHz (Thermaltake Big Typhoon Heatsink), 2 GB of RAM, & 450w PSU, five case fans. Tried and tested this product out for almost a month. Installed four different hotfixes, etc. but the disc that came with the card worked the best.
After a couple days, I installed a Thermaltake TMG SL1 Slot fan in an effort to help with the airflow because the heat radiating from the card makes for some concern.
Newegg customer service... commendable (thus earning +1 additional egg).

Works Great So Far
Pros: Works great on my system. Breathes life into my aging Gateway computer. Looks cool...
Cons: Took a bit longer to install the drivers then expected, very large, make sure you have the room for it takes two slots!
Other Thoughts: Newegg failed to mention that this card requires a 350 watt or greater power supply.

installation nightmare
Pros: price & potential to breathe life into an aging system.
Cons: could not get the card to install. removed all traces of previous ati drivers/ccc. system would not boot into windows normal mode with this card installed - basic safe mode only. multiple errors. tried various bios settings to no avail. after 2 days of attempting to install have given up and will rma.
Other Thoughts: kt600 dragon ultra. 350w. amd xp3000. winxp sp3. after 2 ati cards am finding i am not a fan of their drivers/ccc.

Work's As Designed!!!!
Pros: Just for my own satisfaction, I installed this Card using three different OS's. I installed it into XP Pro, Vista Ultimate, and Windows 7. It work's as designed in all three. That said, when you install a different Sound or Video Card, It's crucial that you totally remove the existing Drivers & Fragments. To remove Drivers, I use a DRIVER CLEANER from guru3d.com called (Driver Sweeper beta 2.0.0.). In doing my usual homework prior to installing this into Vista, I knew Vista would not read it. I downloaded the "AGP Hot Fix" from ATi. Next, I installed it into the ATi Program File. Now go to Device Manager and let windows search your Puter for it. If this doesn't work, then you choose by pointing to the Program File and that worked. With windows 7, I did a Clean new Install and 7 read it and loaded it, however I did have to perform the Update to CC 9.6.
Cons: This Catagory makes me laugh. You read the Product Spec's and determine whether they meet your want's or not.
Other Thoughts: FYI I installed it into a "DFI LanParty UT nForce3 250Gb/ULTRA". Currently I'm running a "Socket 754 3400+". I have a new unopened box 3700+, that I may install if I don'r sell it.LOL. For you "Newbies" that are all wraped up in the Vista Performance Joke, This system got a 4.4 with the 3400+. Being that I'm not a Gamer, it works just Gr8 watching "The Lone Ranger & The Cisco Kid". LOL. Also, as I write this review I'm running an ATi 780G Chipset with a HD 3850 Card and getting the exact same Vista score. LOL. I hope this info doesn't "Burst Your Bubble". Are you ready for the new 6 core processors that you really need to play Games designed for Single Core. LOL. One last tidbit of info from a 65 yr old guy without one day of Formal Puter Training. LOL. A previous reviewer used CCleaner to remove the old drivers. CCleaner I use too, however it is NOT DESIGNED to clean Drivers. Do yourself a favor and go get the Driver Sweeper beta 2.0.0 from guru3d.

Returned
Pros: Open box was cheap.
Cons: Would not post. Had it looked at the micro center along with my PC and technician said it was just a "bad card." The HHS version functioned fine. Both cards are difficult to install due to driver issues. It can be done though but you need some expertise in this area.
Other Thoughts: Open box buys are like a shot in the dark. I won't be doing that again for video cards. Nvidia AGP drivers are much easier to deal with. If you must buy ATI go with Sapphire as they have their own set of drivers on their website. Newegg was great about the return. They even split the cost of shipping with me and sent me a cap when I expressed my dismay at the faulty card.

Works Like a Champ
Pros: I took the advice of others & deleted all my old drivers & used CCleaner v2.20.920. It rook several runs to get them all. Put card in & fired up the CPU, then loaded the Hotfix 8.8 drivers & it has worked great. Video is much faster than my old nViia 6200
Cons: Maybe con??? Am running two LCDs a 19" normal & 23" wide in HD. Watching Netflix movies on the 23" is not too good. I'd guess it is my older Athlon X2 3800 processor.
Other Thoughts: It is BIG, but for me no problem, plenty of room. AM planning on adding a fan to keep it cooler.

Good Card, Bad Drivers
Pros: The card is silent.
Cons: The included drivers are pretty old. (mid 2008) The Sims 3 became pretty glitchy after switching to this card -- and for some reason ati doesnt have drivers for this card on their website.

Great Video Card
Pros: I had a few doubts about this card, since I read quite a few negative reviews about it on here but was convinced by the numerous positive reviews to go ahead and give it a try. Purchased it for my wife for her birthday so she could play World of Warcraft at full force. The card installed easily, ran a stress test and it passed perfectly, and has been running non-stop for several days now on a 250W power supply. Everything looks great and runs smooth!
Since it is fanless, it is SO quiet.
Cons: I guess that the card is VERY large could be a con. Be sure you have an open slot next to the video card because it WILL require it whether you want to give it up or not. Fortunately, the computer I put it in didn't have much in it, but I did have to rearrange what was already in there to make room for this card.
Other Thoughts: Great card for the money. Just be sure to completely uninstall your previous card by going into the system manager and manually removing everything. Apparently, old video card drivers seem to cause problems with this. Also, download and install the most recent hotfix for it. I believe the one I got was 9.2 or so.
Again, BE SURE you have the room in your computer, this WILL require the video card slot and the one next to it.

It Looks Nice, but Think Twice
Pros: Pretty to look at. Red. Made by Asus. 512Mb of DDR2. Stayed relatively cool. Quiet. Cheaper than buying a new system.
Cons: It's an ATI. BSODs. Glitches on my screen before Windows Desktop appears. Erased my Monitor driver. Gave me outrageous screen resolutions and refresh rate options. Very little performance increase * see other thoughts, though.
Other Thoughts: This is my second ATI agp for my aging system. I now realize that I have a CPU bottleneck issue due to my 2.08 ghz AMD 2800+. I thought this would give me a boost, but it was more of a headache. You might have better results if you have a dual core processor... I am however sticking with my trusty ol' Gigabyte 7600Gs card and forever staying an Nvidia man.

Great upgrade for a tired PC
Pros: Cooling is awesome. Did exactly what I expected. It made my old PC with the AGP slot able to deliver high quality HD video to my 46" LCD TV.
Cons: Prepare to reinstall XP to get the drivers right. After the OS reinstall, everything worked great.
Other Thoughts: Really Quiet!

It's ok
Pros: powerful card no overheating issues looks awesome
Cons: No driver updates-$90 and the last updated driver was in 2005. i mean what the hell? i had to update through another website someone mentioned in the reviews below and still get errors.
Errors-i play World of Warcraft and every so often i get some stupid error. my wow crashes and i gotta restart. some days it just halts the entire system until i restart the computer.
Color variations-with the driver it comes with red appears blue and blue appears red, or something like that. this is when you surf the web and such.
Poor overclocking software-it comes with a software that suppesedly "overclocks" the card and makes it faster and more stable. ehhh... is my response.
Other Thoughts: Overall, this card is not worth the purchase. If i knew of all the headache it put me through i'd go back in time and buy another one. Radeon is poorly made and I am never purchasing one ever again. I upgraded from ATI Radeon 9500pro.
Reason why I bought this was because i wanted a powerful card for my old PC and ended up with this one with absolutely no support and no driver updates.
Good thing is that this is my old pc so i can put up with a crash every few days or so. Other then that, don't get it unless you want a lot of headache. The card works for the most part though.

BEWARE OF THIS CARD
Pros: None !!!
Cons: Familiar with these error event codes? ati2mtag 108 Service Control Manager 7000 7001 7026 7034 Disk 51 This is the progression of how this faulty card and unsigned driver, rendered my computer useless and unrepairable. Black screen will not even allow a reformat of the drive. Now I must sell off the individual components in order to purchase a new computer. If you purchase this card to extend the life of your AGP board, you will find yourself out of luck
Other Thoughts: Find a 7600GT somewhere...

Works Well
Pros: Silent, affordable, good performance for an aging motherboard. I had zero issues installing it. It does take the AGP slot and the neighboring PCI slot. I gave it extra room for cooling (my PC is lightly loaded so mine has 3 slots empty near this card) though that wasn't strictly necessary. Heatsink only gets mildly warm under normal use (I am not a gamer - can't speak to how hot it gets gaming). Asus drivers loaded effortlessly from the CD (and are newer than what's on their web site - go figure). Vista drivers work fine with Windows 7. Dual DVI outputs. Comes with adapters for VGA, HDMI, and S. Drives a Dell 24" with none of the issues I had with an earlier ATI card.
Cons: Linux support seems problematic (proprietary fglrx in Ubuntu Jaunty has some odd issues and seems slow; but the open source driver won't go to 1920x1200). PC's that are tight for space may have issues with the large heat sink (which extends out from the edge of the board), but that didn't affect me. Drivers from ATI site don't recognize the card - only drivers from Asus site seem to - so don't expect to be upgrading your drivers (since the drivers on the Asus site were even older than the ones on the CD in the box).
Other Thoughts: Seems excellent for extending the life of an older PC. Silence is golden. Not that it matters, but the box it comes in really is big (12"x18"x3")! Typical Newegg efficiency in shipping the correct product really fast. (Why would you buy anywhere else? :-)

Quick and easy install
Pros: Silent, no fan. Easy install.
Cons: Large heat sink uses two slots.
Other Thoughts: I don't need the video processing power of this card since I am not a gamer, but wanted to extend the life of an AGP bus system and wanted a silent, no-fan video card.
It took about 10 minutes to install. First I removed the old video drivers and installed the new ones from the enclosed ASUS CD. It worked fine immediately.
Went to the AMD/ATI website to get the Catalyst video configuration software. This allows you to fine tune the color and other video properties to your liking. In particular there was an issue with dark video overlay when viewing Windows Media Player. You can adjust overlays in the Catalyst tool under Avivo Video/Basic Color. Uncheck "use application settings" and then adjust the brightness slider.

HORRIBLE - STAY AWAY
Pros: They do keep their word on $20 rebate. Cheap and very fast card. ....BUT
Cons: My card had bad memory, which I only was able to uncover 5 months later. You NEED to stress test your new card using program called VMT, google it. Bad memory causes constant BSODs. Furthermore, this card takes 2 slots, this means you won't be able to use one of your PCI slots. Furthermore, drivers for ATI are horrible, nothing compared to NVIDIA's. There is a problem installing drivers in XP, since drivers use dot NET framework, which means you need to windows update your entire machine before installing anything.
Other Thoughts: I've been using my card for 5 months now, since January. All this time I've been having problems with windows crashing, blue screens of death. Problem was bad memory on this card, it was really hard to trouble shoot. You NEED to stress test your card using program called VMT, or else, you might have a card that is giving you all kinds of headache. Don't forget the rebate, you need to download PDF from newegg. Rebates takes about 2 - 3 months to arrive.

Pros: Plug it in, turn on the computer and it works, what more could you ask for. Very easy setup for dual monitors using the enclosed driver disk. No fan so it's quiet. It's an Asus so you know it's good.
Cons: Takes up a lot of space due to it's heat sink but had no problems with interference that could not be worked around, mainly just had to reroute wires.
Other Thoughts: Came in the biggest box for a graphics card I have ever seen, same size as the 22" monitor.

Great card for an older computer
Pros: Fast and quiet. Well-constructed. No fan is a big plus; one less motor to make noise and burn out. Almost as fast as the 3850s but much more reasonably priced. Name-brand product instead of obscure fly-by-night off-brand.
Cons: Need to download special drivers to get it to work right.
Other Thoughts: Would have been a 5-star product if it weren't for the drivers. There's simply no excuse for neither the regular Asus drivers (which made my 3D textures glitch out) nor the ATI drivers (which won't even recognize the card) to work properly. If it weren't for reading others' reviews here and finding the "special" drivers I would have had to send this back.

Excellent, quiet card
Pros: I got this card for my Windows XP 3.0Ghz P4 computer. It replaced an again 128mb ATI radeon card. I followed the instructions in the review from 4/2/2009 removing all old drivers and getting an AGP hotfix (thank you). IT is a major upgrade to an old graphic card. The stutter/digital delays etc. gone. I had no problems whatsoever. Combined with a wireless keyboard/mouse for $30 I now have a quiet entertainment PC streaming hulu, netflix, HD episodes from the major networks, etc.
Cons: It is a very thick card because of the heat sink so you need a free slot next the AGP slot. Other than that, none.
Other Thoughts: The card has two DVI outs, s-video, and adapters for HDMI and analog monitor. Haven't tried the HDMI yet, picture is already great, but will try of course.

very dissappointed
Pros: sounded good on paper
Cons: i should have listened to the poor reviews better, the thing didnt work right out of the box system posts but at the xp splash screen the screen goes black and i get a no video signal message. same story trying to boot to safe mode, all video drivers were uninstalled before installing the new card. ive always liked asus products but this one is a total bust, i was hoping to get some more life out of my older system doesnt seem likely now.
Other Thoughts: windows xp pro on athlon xp3200. asrock k7v88 mobo 2gigs corsair ddr400 350 watt antec ps.

No Problems
Pros: No fan, 2 DVI connectors
Cons: none so far
Other Thoughts: I was really worried about the install after reading the negative comments. I followed another users suggestion and deleted the old driver using the add/remove program feature built into XP, then installed the drivers that came with the card on CDR. NO DRIVER CLEANER, NO UPDATED DRIVER.......NO PROBLEMS... Congiguration-Dell Precision workstation, dual 3GHz xenon, 2 GB ram, 2 40GB HDs...

Asus AH3650 Silent 512M
Pros: As it stands the card performed quite well and there was a graphic improvement.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: Because the card is of old technology, .agp, I had the card for about a week. I am returning the card to get the same one but in the PCIe version along with a new motherboard.

Nightmare Videocard
Pros: Great bang for the buck and it could keep your system up-to-date for some time to come. Probably the best AGP videocard left in the market. Or second best anyway.
Cons: This is the worst videocard I have ever installed. Driver from CD ain't working. Driver download from manufacture's website ain't working. First sign of a problem is Microsoft's signature. Few days after installation, my system died on me after I installed the driver from the website. I think my motherboard is fried. No time to test it out. I'll storage the rest of the system. Good thing I just built a brand new system-two months after this hideous encounter. Maybe this videocard is best for AMD system....not too sure. I figured I might be able to keep my aging Intel 2.8GHz system for a year until I turned it into a secondary system-not the case here.

ASUS AH3650 Silent
Pros: This is a powerful card for the AGP slot.. Install of the hardware was easy enough, good large heatsink.. QUIET, no fan meens one less fan to make noise DUH.. Installed the software from the disk OK.. As it first burns in the temp was a bit high 65c but cooled down to 42c in about 15 minutes which is normal.. Case fan blows air right across its heatsink so all the better.. Did not see any problems like other posters had, drivers disc was labeled V749 and had cat8.523 on it.. Cleaner 3D graphics than the Geforce 6800GS I have playing HL2 and Max Payne 2 and that thing is a workhorse..
Cons: Tight fit in the AGP slot.. My slot you have to hook the front edge of the card then push it down which makes the metal slot fingers tight against the rear of the case as you seat it but it fits.. Game that came with it will not play, just posts a rendering error code.. The heatsink seems to wobble a bit, large sink teetering on the small face of the video chip.. This stops after burn in time and cooldown but could be a hazard to the thermal pad if the card has to be removed.. ASUS does not bundle a DVD codec or software player with this card as far as I can tell.. Every NVIDIA card I have came with NVDVD or somthing.. Packaged in a box that is HUGE, I will be able to use it as a suitcase next vacation.. Maby thats a Pro?? Would have rather had a media player than the game... Did not see DX10 on the disc..Not much else to crab about..............
Other Thoughts: Wish people would post their configs so others can see what does and does not work.. Unless you have a kicking CPU this is about the limit for AGP in my opinion.. ATI has one more tier up the 3850 but bottlenecking at the CPU or on the Motherboard can bite you.. If I have a failure I will update my review but for the most part if it does not fail in the first few days it will last for years...... The wifes computer it is installed in >> Win XP Home MSI Motherboard with VIA chipset K8M800/VT8237R 1 Gig HyperX DDR400 3GHZ Athlon64 CPU 400 watt power supply

Excellent video card
Pros: I was taken back by some of the difficulties I read in many of the previous reviews, however, I experienced none. Couldn't have installed easier. I did remove my old drivers before installing the new ones, (no magic, just used the Add/Remove function within XP) Extremely pleased with the performance and ease of use/adjust. I love the fact the card doesn't have a fan, (that's what interested me along with it's features.)
Cons: None!

Great Card for the money - Follow reviewers comments
Pros: I ordered the card then read the reviews and thought I had made a bad purchase. I would like to thank who ever sent in the review “Very Nice Card” I followed this persons “Other Thoughts” comments to the letter and had this card installed, drivers installed and was gaming (Call of Duty 5 World at War) in less then 30 minutes. The card works flawless.
Cons: NONE SO FAR :-)
Other Thoughts: DO THIS AND YOU WONT HAVE ANY PROBLEMS INSTALLING THE CARD: Download DCProSetup 1.5 from Overclock.net. Install the application. Now uninstall your old drivers before you uninstall the old card. Shut down the computer and install the new card. Boot into safe mode and cancel the driver update when prompted. Use the driver cleaner and clean out the remaining files of your old card. Reboot the computer and again cancel the driver update when prompted. Go to (www.driverheaven.net/windows-xp-2k-radeon-display-drivers/167642-8-8-agp-hotfix-drivers-here.html) and down load the 8.8 AGP Hotfix drivers and install. Your card is now ready to use. Again, thank you to the person who submitted the “Very Nice Card” review.

Worst experience ever
Pros: Silent no fan design
Cons: Included drivers are awful. Made sure old drivers completely uninstalled but it still absolutely would NOT work with my 2 LCD setup. Wasted an entire day trying to find drivers that would work, finally found the Sapphire drivers which are working.
Other Thoughts: I've built 10-12 systems and have never encountered a piece of hardware as problematic as this. I would have returned it, but I'd ordered it for my mother's PC. She's 2+ hours away and that would have meant another trip.

Very nice card
Pros: It is obviously quiet and performs well in my aging system. Bought it to replace a 7800gs that had a fan that sounded like a hair dryer in a wind tunnel. :) Installation was a complete breeze.
Cons: It is large, though this is not a problem in my case. It does run hot when stressed (79 C). I took care of this by installing a side case fan blowing right on it and temps never get higher than 55 C now.
Other Thoughts: To those who might be scared by reading some of the reviews regarding drivers. Just make sure you uninstall your old driver and then use a driver cleaner afterward. Then you can install the AGP hotfix that ATI provides. DO NOT use the regular catalyst drivers as they will not work properly. This makes things very easy and painless.

Radion 512MB AGP vidio cards
Pros: Very similar to Saphire it replaced. Looks like the same board with different connectors and heatsink/fan.
Cons: Occaisionally fails to handle graphics configuation for included game (World of Warcraft). It does recover without rebooting.

Great Upgrade for old system
Pros: Installed without a problem on Win XP SP2 Pentium 4 2.8GHz system (Use 8.12 or new 9.3 hotfix drivers from ATI/AMD) Runs newest games (including CRYSYS, Fallout 3) on medium settings at 30+ fps (low settings for higher fps) Runs 1080p movies using GPU (4-8% CPU usage) if you use the drivers listed above and Cyberlink PowerDVD or Media Player Classic Overclocks like a champ using ATI Tray Tools (didn't install Catalyst Control Center; just never liked it)
Cons: None for me

Does not work with my computer
Pros: Ran like a champ, for a short time.
Cons: I couldn't get it to work with ASUS's drivers, the install complained that it could not find supported hardware.
Other Thoughts: I did get it to work for some time with my computer after several hours trying different drivers. Installed with BIOS set to 16MB then had to up it to 128 or 256MB for it to load the driver properly. My computer crashed from a corrupted ntoskrnl.exe and I wasn't able to replicate my previous install. System Specs: BioStar P4TSV 1.x P4 3.2GHz SB Audigy 2 WD 120GB HDD

JUNK
Pros: cheap
Cons: Causes PC to hang on boot. No support from ASUS, all information on their forum did not help. If you reboot the PC several times you may get it to load but will freeze shortly after. I installed numerous drivers and hotfix to no avail. RETURNED to newegg.

Just What I Was Looking For!
Pros: Popped this card in my dual boot XP Pro/Vista Ultimate computer, installed right away and completely in both OS. Absolutely no issues, couldn't be happier.
Cons: None yet
Other Thoughts: It is big, not for smaller cases.

Working Great
Pros: Initially, I was reluctant to purchase this card because of negative reviews + I have a via chipset motherboard (older ecs p4m800m-pro, with 6300 and 2 gigs of ddr2 mem.). It's working great with latest 9.2 hotfix drivers.. Everything working as before with nvidia 6200 card that it replaced.
Cons: I'm having problems with shadows in GTA4. I'm not sure if it's the graphic driver or this buggy pc game.
Other Thoughts: My last upgrade (finally had the nerve to purchase this card), and very happy with it overall.

Bootup hangs at XP splash screen
Pros: Silent because it has no fan and AGP format allows older system extended usefulness.
Cons: Huge size because of the heatsink, which is larger than the circuit board. It is two slots wide.
Other Thoughts: I couldn't get it to work in my computer. I was replacing another ATI Radeon video card so I uninstalled its drivers before I began. I installed the drivers on the included CD, but the reboot hung at the XP splash screen. I downloaded the newest drivers from ASUS, but the reboot still hung at the XP splash screen. I downloaded the latest drivers from ATI, but the reboot still hung at the XP splash screen. I downloaded the hotfix drivers from ATI, but the reboot still hung at the XP splash screen. I returned the card to Newegg for a refund.

Look closely at the size
Pros: Play Blu-Ray on a single core machine. No noise.
Cons: Heatsink extends an inch past the mounting bracket tab -- won't fit in a lot of cases. ATI Catalyst drivers downloaded a week ago would not recognize the card. Asus drivers (old) worked just fine anyway.
Other Thoughts: Discovered the hard way that a marginally cooled 3.0 Prescott may be pushed over its thermal limit while running 20% load continuously for half an hour or so (playing Blu-Ray). If you have problems with BSODs, freezes, restarts, etc. after installing card, it might not be the drivers -- especially if things seem to work fine at first.

Close but no cigar
Pros: I would love to say there are some. The price would have been great assuming the $20 rebate. I was excited about getting HD functionality in an old machine that I have running VISTA, and the fact that it has no fan since I am using this in my theater room was a MAJOR PLUS
Cons: The unit I recieved MUST be DOA. I read every single review and had a huge list of what to do to get this running. My motherboard didn't have a 16MB AGP Aperture so I set it 256 (recommended setting on ASUS page). Tried this is 3 different PC's None would POST. Took out every PCI card. I even convinced myself that my low end Power supply wasn't supplying enought power so I purchased a new 400Watt PS that put out 30A on the 12V rail. Still wouldn't POST. Am about to give up and just send it back
Other Thoughts: Maybe some of the others were correct and karma is trying to tell me to ditch the old AGP Motherboard and move on up, but it is unfortunate because it had SO much promise. I can't help but think the heat sync during shipping is to blame. Why else would so many people recieve DOA models.

Good board
Pros: installed easy. good price. ton of features in the Bios
Cons: Memory set up is a little tricky. I'm still trying to figure out what setting in the bios I have to tweek to get my memory to run stable at 1066. For now runs great at 800.
Other Thoughts: I'm sure with the amount of settings in the memory section there is a way to get the memory to run smoothly at the higher setting. until I do that everything else on the board set up without any problems at all. Overall I am very pleased with this product

HTPC Magic!
Pros: Silent, Overkill in an HTPC, HDCP works perfectly with my Samsung DLP and HDMI, cheap. Drivers are a chinch, use the latest ATI !!HOTFIX!! drivers and the card works like a charm right out of the box. I have used it under windows XP 32 bit and Windows 7 beta 32 bit and CCC, the drivers, all resolutions, blu ray, and everything has worked great. Works in old nforce2 motherboard.
Cons: HDMI cable is almost more the the card, find the cheapest cable you can. Don't spend over $40 on HDMI cable.
Other Thoughts: Drivers have evolved. The old reviews are exactly that, old. The new ATI 9.1 hotfix drivers work just like any other video card you have installed. HDMI cable needed for perfect picture on Samsung DLP HTPC Specs 2500+ Barton 1 gig ram nforce2 motherboard Abit nfs-7 V2 This video card LG blu ray player 20 cheap HD DVD movies Priceless.

Have Intel inside get a NVIDIA!
Pros: Seems well built and no fans necessary. Drivers from AsUS install disc are newer than they're website and load well. Lots of Apps for video, gamer OSD, house surveillance camera program thingy, movie stuff, etc.
Cons: Won't work with my older IBM/ intel based microstar Mobo, x2 xeon 3 gHz processors unless I turned off all graphics acceleration in control panel/display and then no games at all. I think all the Radeon drivers are made more for for AMD processors. I don't know about the new pci-e cards but with my old AGP I just can't get ATI cards to work right. I'm sticking with Nvidia.

Great card - difficult install
Pros: Great performance for the price. A great way to bring new life to an older AGP-based system.
Cons: First card arrived DOA. Newegg was awesome about the RMA and rushed out the replacement. The driver installation couldn't s@#k more. I had many BSODs before I finally got it functional (see below) I actually had to rebuild the O.S. to get it to work. Considering how long ATI has been in business, it should NOT be this hard to install a new video card.
Other Thoughts: It is possible to get it to work in Vista. I rebuilt the OS, did all the Mobo driver updates and Windows updates, then installed JUST the video drivers thru Device Mangler before installing any other software. so I have no idea if the other ATI CCC stuff even works. Considering I reinstalled Windows probably 4 times before I hit on the solution, (and all the other CCC installs resulted in BSODs), I am loathe to even try to install the Catalyst apps

Don't kill yourself
Pros: Powerful little guy for the price, good HDMI on an AGP slot, cheap, and the silent cooling system looks cool.
Cons: I'm in the Submarine Electronic Computer field for the Navy, & this is still one of the most temperamental pieces of equipment I've ever encountered. Had to switch the AGP aperature from 64mb to 16 in the Bios, then re-install windows & then install the drivers from the CD
Other Thoughts: Good for the price, but if you start having driver issues, hide any weapons you have access to...

Hmmm.......
Pros: Great looks,Good quality HUGE BOX!?! I thought they shipped me 10 of them!
Cons: I'm disappointed(somewhat my fault) thus far...Installed it on a 478 P4 3.4 hyperthreading with 2 gb ram thermal intake cooler on CPU. Not sure if it's the p4 bottle necking it but i can't get any smooth frames Trying to play "Paradise City" and i feel like im running it on a Pentium 3. I'm also using it on Windows 7 so it's possible seven is an issue BUT considering it's closely related to vista but better i don't think so....? tried updating drivers but no prevail. I'm just tweaking it out the best i can so i can hopefully soon release this monsters power.
Other Thoughts: Can't believe it's only $90? WHY?

Perfect AGP Card
Pros: Great card! Silent, looks cool (no pun intended) and runs fast. Raised my vista gaming graphics score to 5.1. Runs @ about 28C Idle. Unsure of load temps. Either way, it's a great card.
Cons: It's AGP, and the price performance ratio for AGP leans way towards price. If you have the choice, get a motherboard with PCI express. Chances are you'll save money in the end. Otherwise, none thus far.
Other Thoughts: ITS HUGE!!! The picture does not do justice to how large it is. It also looks good despite how it looks in the picture. Oh and it is double wide, so keep that in mind.

Pros: Runs Left 4 Dead and Oblivion like a pro, cooling is better than I thought it would be. Card went in much easier than I thought it would, slid right in, in fact.
Cons: Downloaded the Asus drivers and utilities, they were absolute trash, which is a little disappointing since I was liking how GamerOSD sounded.
Other Thoughts: A friend of mine bought me this card to keep my system alive until I can get enough saved for a new one. I was stuck between this card and a Sapphire. What made my mind up was the heat sink and the fact that it claimed it's memory clock was 1000MHz. After downloading the hotfix drivers and going to the Overdrive tab it lists my current settings at GPU:110MHz and Memory: 500MHz. Seems a little strange to me, but like I said in the pros, it runs my games like a beast and it doesn't bother me enough to question it. I'm running on a stock 250w PSU with 1 SATA HDD, 1 DVD RW +/-, and two other IDE HDDs. I had to dig out an old Y connecter for my PSU and still no problems what so ever. Very satisfied with this card save for the drivers, save yourself some trouble and just get the hotfix ones. 3.06Ghz HT P4 (Prescott), Foxconn 865G7MF, 1GB DDR333, and now this card.

great card for AGP system
Pros: Installed and works without any issues what.so.ever on Dimension 4600. Replaced FX5200. The difference in gameplay is amazing. We are playing older and/or simpler games though - KOTOR, LEGO Indiana Jones, that kind of stuff. The heat sink is large.
Cons: Costs more than a comparable PCI card. The heat sink is large.
Other Thoughts: I like keeping the old hardware working. This card was perfect for the 5 y.o. family room PC used to play games and movies.
Some high-resolution H.264 movies (.mkv) stutter on this system, because my player (VLC) cannot fully use the GPU acceleration. This is not the card's fault.
The card works stable with the stock 250W PSU (the system has only one DVD and one HDD, 2GB of RAM, and no PCI cards).
Dimension 4600 has a lousy cooling fan (it only cools the CPU), but the card stays cool due to its amazing passive heat sink.

Believe the reviews
Pros: Card allows me to play blu-rays with my old rig.
Cons: It doesn't come bundled with a toupee which you will need after pulling out your hair getting this thing working right.
Other Thoughts: I read all the reviews so I new what I was getting into. I know what I m doing with driver installations and that didn't help me much. Installed card in rig first then blu-ray rom which wouldn't play without pixelation followed by a crash of my system. Uninstalled all the drivers and reinstalled and worked fine. Used the drivers from online. Have to use the ones from Asus and not Ati. As far as hotfix 8.12 it has nothing to do with single card systems and is used for people using crossfire. If you want a card that will allow you to use an old rig as a media pc this will get the job done, just expect to have to work for it a little. Im using a nf7-s v 2 MB and a AMD bartoin 2500M with 1 gig of memory and have had no problems with blu-ray playback.

Nick
Pros: 1. Runs cooler than my other active cooling cards. 2. Better graphics than the other cards as well. 3. Great price. 4. Great improvement over my Radeon X850XT 5. Didn't have any problems with space issues in a 4u Rackmount case on a eATX board.
Cons: 1. Crashes at startup with various untilities running. (Gamer OSD, Asus Doctor?). 2. Crashes at startup while trying to do anything before shutting down said programs. 3. Crashes during any game while running said programs.
Other Thoughts: This is an amazing card but I could not run the utilities and had to do a fresh start on the computer to get rid of the problems. I just installed the ATI control panel and drivers and everything worked flawlessly.

Great card
Pros: Quit Cool Fast... Installation was a snap. Utilities are A+++++. 75+ fps on Wotlk & no freezing!
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: Alot of usless info about drivers on the web. Just use the drivers on the CD then dl the 8.12 hotfix that matches your system and your gtg. Use the utilities on the CD they are very helpful.

Pros: My jaw dropped when I received this card. Box is huge, packaging is excellent. Then I got video card out, it's huge! First of all it's long, second of all it's fat. It takes two slots to make this fit. Installation went smooth, 1) ground yourself, 2) install card connect power, 3) download drivers, gamerosd, smartdoctor from ASUS website, 4) install those. Vuala! It Works.. A good upgrade from NVIDIA 6800 GeForce.
Cons: Why didn't anybody tell me it takes two slots to fit this monster? I had to evict one of my PCI cards to make this fit.
Other Thoughts: First of all, I don't believe anybody that says this card is hard to install. Installation is STRAIGHT FORWARD and easy, no more difficult than NVIDIA card. Second of all, if you read reviews by people claiming this card is hard to install, you will also see they having trouble with download rebate PDF. Don't listen to those people. Definitely go with this card, it's money well spent.. Be sure to not miss out on rebate and special offer for free world of warcraft game.

Send the wife and kids to the in-laws for the weekend and be prepared to experience every human emotion
Pros: HDCP over AGP. To those out there that said you can not play Blu-ray or HD-DVD on a single core CPU, I beg to differ. This card will do it, you just have to set aside a couple days of headache and hard work.
Cons: It should not be this hard to install a video card. Let's face it. The reason someone is installing an AGP card is to extend the life of an older PC. More documentation needs to be released stating what types of mainboards will and will not work out of the box with this card.
All I wanted to do was to add a HDCP AGP vid card for an old P4 Willamette laying around (ASUS P4T) to try Blu-ray playback on Windows 7 Beta. I don't think I have had this much difficulty installing a vid card since the ol' dual Voodoo 2's. I'm pretty sure I have replicated every possible problem every user here and in every forum about this card has described and then some.
Because of the age of my mainboard and the HD Audio device on this card I can not install it on any Windows OS newer than Win XP SP2. Anything newer and the OS would either not load or go to a black screen after the OS splash screen.
Other Thoughts: A brief wrap-up of what I had to do to get this card to work for me:
1) Bios Settings - Set AGP Aperture to 16MB - Set Plug and Play OS to No 2) Remove all PCI cards. 3) Install Win XP Pro w/SP2 - x86 4) Install driver from install CD 5) Install ATI 8.12 hotfix driver 6) Disable the HD Audio on the card (PCI Device) 6) Install additional PCI cards one at a time. 7) Run Windows Update and only run Custom option and do not select SP3
For the price after rebate I think I'm going to keep this card. Now I just need to play around with IRQs and slots to see if I can find a combination to get all of my cards running including the USB 2.0 controller which is the only card I can't get to install without locking up the OS.

a little doubt
Pros: THE PRODUCT BEARS ITS NAME, ITS REALLY QUIET. I HAVE BEEN USING ASUS BOARDS AND VC FOR YEARS. THEY ARE STILL WORKING JUST FINE.
Cons: BUT THIS ONE FAILED SUDDENLY AFTER 3HRS.
Other Thoughts: I HOPE NEWEGG WILL REPLACE THAT JUNK ASAP TO KEEP THE FAIFTH

ASUS AH3650 AGP
Pros: Works great for getting another year out of my Dell Dimension 8200. I'm glad that I read every review and install issue at Newegg and Hardforum. Everyone deserves +++ credit!!! An improvement from a AIO 9600XT ATI card.
Cons: This card would be a tough install for a novice, thankfully, the AMD/ATI drivers via Sapphire changed on 12/10/08.
Other Thoughts: Take your time and make sure any other ATI drivers are not on your system. My unfortunate experience was that my OEM 80GB hard drive died during the install. So, I put in a new 320 WD and left the partitions up to themselves. Also I upgraded to a 400 watt StartTech power supply. There were actually fewer usable connections on this PS than the OEM 250 watter. I had minor conflicts with my Creative 2ZS Platinum sound card and now enjoy my HP LP2475W display that much more, though the initial installation had to be done through the 2nd (VGA)DVI-2 port on the monitor. ??? After using the Sapphire hot fix--thanks everyone--everything settled down and works great. I appreciate the input that all of you have submitted. Thanx!

Nice card...but...
Pros: Works as advertised! No problem playing 720p on my old P4 3.0 Ghz which I converted into a Media Center (rather than trashing it) after 5 years of reliable use.
Cons: The passive heat sink extends ABOVE the L-bracket and my media center case's lid (Antec) would no longer fit. I actually had to Dremel a 1"x8" slot in the top of the lid to install this card---looks like a shark fin now. While the card is fine, just be sure that a "tall" AGP card will fit in your case. I wasn't able to find a fan cooling kit that didn't (also) extend above the card.
I've also read where this card can also obstruct side-mounted fans in some cases...just measure it out before you buy...or end up with some possible frustration. :)

First Impression - Positive
Pros: I bought this card to have support for 2 monitors. I have installed the card without any problem on the old ASUS board. Installed matching driver from provided CD with no problem. It is fast!. I have Stellarium program (astronomical) that barely moved with FX 5800, is smoking now.Very quiet board.
Cons: Pretty bulky (heat sink) but no problem to fit in my AGP slot. Don't forget to connect power to the card (like me).
Other Thoughts: I hope it will work great with second monitor. I was supposed to get $20 rebate, there was no mail-in form. For the price I think it an excellent card. I use 300 W power, although they recommend 350W. So far no problem.

Nice HTPC Card!
Pros: 1. HDMI for Audio & Video works great through Onkyo 805 on HTPC Vista 32bit. 2. Silent 3. No issues as others reported.
Cons: 1. None
Other Thoughts: Not sure why others are having issues with sound over HDMI. I used The included Asus driver disk without issue. HDMI audio working fine. Very Happy!

Taller Card - Great for Windows Media Center
Pros: Best card for older AGP motherboards. Passive Heatsink. Complete complement of adapters (HDMI, VGA, and Component). Hardware accelerated H.264 and MPEG-2 Decoding.
Cons: Heatsink was to tall for my case (Heatsink extends ~1" above the bracket). Audio over HDMI doesn't work (After researching I found this to be a common problem with AGP cards). Over sized packaging adds to return shipping costs.
Other Thoughts: While this card should fit most cases, it didn't fit mine, and I ended up returning it for another 3650 AGP model.
Even after extensive research, I was unable to get audio working over HDMI. This problem is common to all ATI AGP cards (however - some claim to have gotten it to work). If audio over HDMI is a deal breaker - I recommend upgrading your system to PCI-Express.
Hardware acceleration of video is great. My Athlon XP 2800+ couldn't handle HD content before this.

(continued 3)
Pros: el silencio
Cons: ATI ATI ATI
Other Thoughts: Bottom line: if you're stuck with AGP and need the silence, this is the card to get. The out-of-box experience is poor, but Asus is not entirely to blame for this since they are simply slapping their giant cooler onto the ATI reference design. Go yell at ATI/AMD!

(continued 2)
Pros: produces 0db of noise
Cons: not the best OOB experience
Other Thoughts: Could I notice the difference? Not really, but why not use it? Who cares if this card dies in a year. You'll hopefully have a PCIe system by then. Unfortunately, Catalyst Control Center's overclocking software does not work, and the SmartDoctor overclocked settings are reset every time you restart your machine. But I didn't buy this card for gaming, I got it for a rig that will record music, and if you google "Silent AGP," this card is pretty much the last word.
As others have mentioned, the packaging is incredibly wasteful. The box is ridicunormous. It's literally twice the size it really needs to be. Most of the space is used to print the exact same text in 11 different languages. We get it Asus, you're multinational. Since the card requires supplemental power, a molex splitter would have been a useful courtesy somewhere in all that box. Incidentally, while the box suggests a 350W power supply, I've had no problems running mine on a 250.

Shhhhhh.... silent!
Pros: Silence! (shh!)
Cons: Poor out-of box experience.
Other Thoughts: I wasted an ENTIRE day struggling to get this card to work with my Compaq EVO D500. In the end, it came down to a single setting in my BIOS menu -- AGP Aperture. If set to 32MB or 64MB, you get the "black screen of death" i.e. immediately after logging in to XP, the screen goes black and never returns. Inexplicably, if the aperture is set to 4MB or 8MB, the card will let you see the screen, but you wont be able to play any games since you will get DirectX error messages. So legal values are 16MB, 128MB, and 256MB. I have mine set to 16MB since the latter two are wasteful and produce no advantage.
One other tricky thing -- mysteriously, I couldn't even get into my BIOS menu while the card was installed and with the wrong aperture setting. Only when I removed all my PCI cards would it allow me to do so. Bizarre.
I inadvertantly tried both the drivers that came with the card as well as those on ASUS' web site. Both work, but it baffles me that the website version is actually older

Picky
Pros: I bought this card to try and squeeze a little more life out of a 4 year old P4 prescott system. The specs on paper look great, as does the price. Now that it is working properly I'm happy with the performance.
Cons: Getting it to work right took some time and effort. I've probably rebooted my computer 20 times; uninstalling and reinstalling driver software. The CD I got with the card had drivers that *worked* but they were pretty old and did not perform well while gaming. You need the latest AGP HOTFIX driver from ATI. Google ATI AGP hotfix to find the correct drivers. If you have old ATI display drivers on your computer you have to uninstall them prior to installing a new version to insure the install runs correctly.
Other Thoughts: As I've come to understand it, the GPU on this card was not designed for the AGP interface so ATI has to do some trickery to get it to work properly. I'm glad they decided to release up to the 3xxx series on AGP for people like me with older hardware, but it's taken them more time to get all the bugs ironed out. This is why you need the hotfix drivers, not the standard ones you find on the ATI driver download page. Linux support is taking even longer since I can't get any features in the GL desktop working under Ubuntu. It works fine if you don't want the eye-candy, but as soon as you try and turn on FGLRX, the system starts throwing errors.

Great Card, Great Price
Pros: Cool, Silent, Cheap, HUGE boost in performance in older (2006 and below) games. Cheap great DX10 Starter card, and awsome DX9 card. Put the card into and older Dell Optiplex GX260 and saw my frames go throught the roof. No problems at all with the install, drivers worked out of the box. Control Center compatible. Included ASUS Gamer OSD is a godsend for Overclockers. Highyl recomended. Not to mention the thing looks freaking awsome.
Cons: Can run hot under full load and OC'd, but that all depends on your ventilation.
Other Thoughts: If your looking for an AGP card to hold you over for a while but dont want to break the bank. This is the card for you!

A Sucker Bet at Best
Pros: A sucker bet at best. Fast delivery!! After 5 hours of trying to install the oem drivers and all the others suggested, I decided to throw the towel in, and returned it.
Cons: After reading the reviews, why did I accept the risk of thinking this card could work on my board? I think there were too many conflicts between the video card driver, the audio functionality on the card, and the on-board audio on my mobo.
Other Thoughts: I like Newegg a lot and have found there service and product quality to be excellent. But I'm very disappointed that they would offer this card. I know I lost money on the deal. But Newegg is obviously making money on the return of this product .... otherwise they wouldn't continue to offer it.

Pros: I bought this card with the open box policy and it is just wonderful.
Cons: It's gigantic and the software for it is a pain.
Other Thoughts: This has brought my old PC to life again. Using a northwood p4 2 ghz with 512 ram. I just play some games similar to WoW and they are just wonderful now. massive amounts of people online don't do anything to my frame rate =D

Frustrating
Pros: none significant
Cons: after trying multiple drivers for the 3650 chipset (Asus didn't work from the get go) this card is a bust. Try researching the Asus forums for all the problems this card has with drivers and you'll see the same common thread (i.e. can't get a driver that actually installs and works correctly)

Great card
Pros: I bought this card to try to make my HP Pavilion a530n last just a little longer. The card works great with Maya and runs a bit slower with 3ds Max. It manages two monitors great and also runs at my monitors odd resolution of 2048 x 1152. It worked great out of the box, the cd had the latest 2008 drivers, for my win xp 64 machine.
Cons: Nothing to complain about.

Speedy, but dual monitor had issues.
Pros: Installed the card to replace a 128mb geforce 5200 on an old socket 754 NFV-8 pro mobo with an Athlon 64 3200+ processor, 2 gigs ram, RAID 0 sata 150's - in the AGP slot. Works well with my single HDMI ViewSonic 22" panel. Overclocking utility works well and it was able to play Call of Duty 4 demo at 1280x1024 - albeit a bit rough, but considering the older processor and only being AGP...it ran well at lower resolutions backing off some of the shading and anti-aliasing. VERY Quiet card because there's no moving parts (i.e. fans)...that was the main reason I bought this card to begin with. 1
Cons: Dual monitor didn't work correctly for me. The included control software would actually freeze and have to be forced down from task manager when trying to use dual monitors. Not sure if my settings were wrong, it was the monitor I was using or what...but it just didn't work well when I was using both ports.
Other Thoughts: Good upgrade for legacy AGP systems.

Wonderful!
Pros: Installed into a 4 year old Athlon 3200 system, used the Sapphire Hot Fix and I was off and running in no time. My Warcraft framerates tripled from that of my old FX5200. Definitely a great card for the money.
Cons: Had to keep resetting my screen resolution until everything was done, but this was nothing unexpected.

Great Card In A Big Box
Pros: Fast card! Replaced an FX 5900. Works well with DirectX 9.0c (XP) you will be able to max out older games, but the card really excels as a budget DirectX 10 (Vista) solution. No fan (very slick and quiet). Huge box for a GPU.
Cons: Drivers are a little tricky. AMD/ATI drivers didn't reconized the card, so I grabbed the most recent from ASUS's website. Open the zip file with WINRNR clicked on the setup file, and all is good.
Other Thoughts: Just a great card for the money, but a novice may have trouble installing it.

Hard to set up, but hope this will help others
Pros: Very fast, salvaged another year+ for my aging Athlon 64 3400+ single-core system. Noiseless.
Cons: A headache to get working. Tried all tips here. See below.
Other Thoughts: I tried everything to get this working: Every different driver, the hotfix driver, reinstalling windows, and whatever I did, the system froze about three minutes after starting Windows. Even changed PSU (from 430w to 650w). Same problem. Finally pulled the soundcard (Audigy plus). Installed 3650, disabled the HDMI audio in Device Manager, rebooted, and everything was fine. Then put Audigy back in, and it was still fine. Drivers on disk were best -- Hotfix drivers didn't display Catalyst Control Center. Everything now stable and perfect, and recent games run fine at medium-high settings. And new PSU (Antec Earthwatts 650) is also quieter, so now I have a quiet, blazing fast system.

Don't Bother With This Card....
Pros: Great spec for an AGP card.
Cons: Included drivers don't work. ATI Hotfix returned my computer to life, but when I try to play games (any games) I get the blue screen of death. Seems to have issues with my SOYO KT600 mother board. Not worth the $$$ to RMA the card. Wasted my money :(
Other Thoughts: I've spent many hours trying to get this thing working. It's unbelievable that a company can ship a brand new video card with drivers that do not work. ASUS support is non-existent. Does anybody test these things before they ship!?!?!?

Brought new life to a old system
Pros: Brought new life to a old system. It is very quiet and speedy. This is the second board, the first was DOA, but the second worked perfect once I had the correct ATI drivers.
Cons: The ADP drivers on the cdrom wont work, the ATI hotfix is needed.
Other Thoughts: Read the newegg reviews here and the ASUS forums about using this board with the ATI hotfix AGP drivers. Get them before you install the board and you will have no problems.

Didn't work
Pros: Good specs.
Cons: Seems to be incompatible with my motherboard. Soyo KT880 Dragon 2 v2.0. I deinstalled the old card and driver, installed the new card, plugged the 4-pin power supply and booted the machine. Windows XP logo appears, but the machine freezes soon after. Switching back to the old video card fixed the problem.

Fecal matter
Pros: It doesn't smell like what it is . . . but you can "overclock" it. It also blocks graphic violence by not playing any First Person Shooters with enough frames to see anything. Oh and it always has at least 450 MB of Free Video Memory - why doesn't it use that memory? I paid for it.
Cons: What's not to hate? 23 FPS in rFactor with everything set at minimum - Dx7, 800X600 16 bit color, no antialiasing. 41 FPS in Need for Speed Most Wanted - all video set at minimum and 640X480 Catalyst drivers from Sapphire won't help, Omega drivers helped some and enabled the blazing speeds listed above.
Other Thoughts: If you love missed frames, stuttering graphics, and generally sorry performance, THIS IS THE CARD FOR YOU.

ASUS HD3650 Silent
Pros: Nice design, lots of memory, DVI-VGA Adapter for those of us w/ older monitors, and a noticeable improvement in either Framerate or Quality playing WOW, could go mid-high settings with 30fps over lower settings and10 with my old 6600GT so thats always nice
Cons: EXTREMELY FRIGGIN HUGE! I had to cut off part of the metal guards on the back so the far screw in would fit and I could get it into the AGP slot, and now the metal bar you slide on won't go in all the way because there isn't enough room... but its not moving so hey no worries
Other Thoughts: 2.0ghz cpu, 2 gigs ddr 400 ram, and 480 watts... save for my monitor, cpu, and sound system, this computer is new again... lol

great for the money
Pros: Love this card, really brought my old machine back to life. Running Spore, HL2, bioshock demo, at near to or max settings.
Cons: Runs a bit hot in my machine but may be due to somewhat poor ventilation.
Other Thoughts: Could be a different piece of hardware causing the issue, but changing resolutions can take a long time. Not really sure if this is a con or not.

Tough one!!
Pros: Great card once you get it installed. One thing I recommend if you have XP or Vista is to install the ATI Hotfix from the Sapphire site. These seem to be the only drivers that worked. Go to Sapphiretech dot com, hit English go to Graphics, go to Sapphire HD Graphics 3600 Series 512 DDR2 go to Drivers on top right, go to VGA go to Sapphire HD 300 series , go to Sapphire HD 512 MB DDR2 AGP, hit Download Driver at bottom right, go to Catalyst 8.10 hotfix for AGP Hotfix. Be sure you choose correct OS! Thats it, that is what fixed mine, I have XP 32 bit. Remember to uninstall all ATI drivers first, then reboot and pop this card in. After each install, be sure to reboot.
Cons: Hard to get it working. What most people here say is right. Very tough card. I did a bunch of research and found that most of the people that purchased this card had to load the sapphire catalyst control center hotfix. If you don't load it, ccc will say it cannot install. Very strange and buggy. Keep in mind, I didn't load the drivers from the ASUS site.
Other Thoughts: Above

Good Card but...
Pros: Lots of memory, AGP 8x (all I got), new(er) gpu, easy to install. Excellent price.
Cons: NEVER EVER EVER try to update the driver, even from ASUS website. It will literally break Windows XP. BSOD, hard freeze, failure to start even in safe mode.
Other Thoughts: It worked great until I tried the newer version of the driver, will post again when I get my computer reformatted.

Lots of driver problems
Pros: The whole time I ran it it stayed very cool
Cons: Bigger than I expected, it took up the space of 2 ports. Not a big problem, I have a big case. The main problem? I spent over 10 hours trying to get the driver to install/work. CD install failed, as well as online. I even tried older versions to no avail.
Other Thoughts: Works perfectly for some folks, but it's a no go for me. Nothing is more frustrating than driver problems. I say save yourself some time and heartbreak and just go nvidia

Pros: My 2003 "boat anchor" is a computer again! Old games are much more clear & have details that weren't there before. Games that loaded but choked/crashed no longer do so. I was basically unable to run any game issued past '05. Since installation of new video card old problem games now work. Given that my computer now functions better than it ever has for what I bought it for - games - the new video card turned out to be a great value! Installation was a snap considering that my tech level is "what's tech level?". Am greatful for no complicated wiring - just seat card & 1 connection. No fan to worry about is a plus.
Cons: Card worked right out of box but next day audio was gone. Don't know why. Tech guy @ work directed me to fix by going to device manager, disabling the audio component of card & enabling something else. Lucky for me the disable worked by itself & I have sound again.
Other Thoughts: Sub $100 video card for older generation technology made tremendous difference. Can delay purchase of new computer. I was relieved bug was not beyond my ability to fix. Any driver problems would have resulted in returned product. Glad somebody knowlegeable referred me to Newegg primarily because of product reviews. These reviews have been a gold mine of information - answering questions I would never have thought to ask.

Driver problems galore
Pros: quite
Cons: Couldn't get ASUS drivers to work(CD or WEB), couldn't get direct ATI drivers to work. Went to ASUS tech forums and there were literally dozens of others with same problem. ASUS tech support advised me they had NO FIX for the problem and I should return the card to them or the vendor. Seriously, tech support had no solution and their only advice was return it!!!!!
Other Thoughts: Save yourself the headache and get NVIDIA.

tricks to installing!!
Pros: silent. no additional cooling needed.
Cons: had to download Sapphire 3650 AGP Hotfix for Catalyst Control Center ver. 8.9. The ASUS drivers wouldn't work. lost audio over HDMI in the process...it seems sillly that i had to download a competitor's drivers (Sapphire) to get the card to work with current ATI software...but hey, if it works!
Other Thoughts: supposedly, although i have yet to confirm this, the ASUS card/drivers will work under CCC 8.10...but i have not personally checked this out yet.

Nice card
Pros: Card was recognized by the system and the drivers went into XP SP3 x86 just perfectly. We tried Spore and Oblivion and all our issues with 3D rendering were fixed. This card is really great for gaming.
Cons: It takes 2 slots with the heat sinks, but that is clearly visible from the picture. Just plan for it taking 2 slots.

The truth behind the card
Pros: The fact that this has interactive user adjustments in the os is incredible. The fact that it can overclock itself is remarkable as well. Extremely stabel good performance. Lots of features. Tons os addtional systems to use with it. The fact it is a sound card as well is remarkable in itself. For the price the system is excellant
Cons: Requires a advanced to expert knowledge of this device. It is not direct plug and play the fact it does not have hdmi to regular coversion cables included for audio. means utilizing a stock onboard or secondary audio system and disabling the hd sound. The capture system drivers are not inclusive and very difficult to get installed.
Other Thoughts: The should include a cabel to incorporate 1/16 diameter speakers direct as well as all capture feature support documentation and drivers as weel as instructions for install for different configurations. Great card however extremely complicated. but the selling is the price for performance

works for me
Pros: It's silent. Lowers my pc noise to a minimum. Runs World of Warcraft on maximum settings.
Cons: The driver that came with the disk was a little buggy on my system. I have a four year old P4 running Windows XP Home edition. I downloaded a newer driver from AMD. I had some trouble installing the driver, but was able to get it running with some instructions from AMD customer support. The video still sometimes goes black for a second when switching between programs, but other than that it works well.
Other Thoughts: This will keep my old pc going for another year or so. I'm glad they still make cards for AGP.

Update
Pros: It works and forced me to upgrade to realize its potential.
Cons: Software was buggy but dl the ATI AGP Hotfix and recent drivers then reinstall winxp and everything worked fine. As another reviewer stated check the thermal pad... was causing random reboots due to overheating but put some artic silver on there and took right off. I recommend getting an aftermaket heatsink unless you've got plenty of cooling in your rig. I just bought an extra 120mm and directed the flow at her and BOOM runs Oblivion maxed out! HL2 Maxed out. CNC3 on very high settings. So my advice... get all the latest drivers for your system and do a clean install. This card should work for you if you take your time. Some motherboards are picky though and it's a tough call.
Other Thoughts: Sometimes you'll get a bad card but this one is full of potential. Had problems with CCC at first but decided to start fresh and not install it. Some features may not be available but overall this card really puts some life into an older AGP based rig.

Not just for HD
Pros: This card has been running in my comp for the last 2 months with no shutdowns...and it never overheated. Is card is not only for HD..I played Crysis on high settings with resolution 1680x1050 60Hz for over 4 hours and it never overheated for me.
Cons: I didnt care to much for the software Splendid that came with it.
Other Thoughts: I love the over clocking option in the settings.i have mine at.. GPU 800MHz Memory 750MHz
If your looking for a cheap but good video card...you wont be disappointed. trust me.and for the people talking about overheating.i have 2 of these cards. i put one in a new amd comp from circuit city.there is no air flow in the case but the 80mm fan in the back.and it never overheated ...not even close.

Good upgrade
Pros: Good upgrade from my 6600GT with a broken fan, probably will extend my old X2 4400 for at least another 2 years. Quiet and temps stay around 42 idle 55 after gaming for awhile, if I can trust the sensor. Supported by Linux with catalyst 8.9
Cons: If you can call it a con, takes up 2 slots. Probably would get too hot in a case without good ventilation
Other Thoughts: Thank you ATI for not forgetting us AGP users

Perfect for aging HTPC
Pros: Noiseless. Powerful. h.264 playback. AGP.
Cons: Somewhat tricky to setup. No TruHD or DTS-MA audio passthrough.
Other Thoughts: To get current drivers all you have to do is download the hotfix drivers from the AMD/ATI website. If you get an error during install, just go to update driver in the device manager in Windows XP. The correct drivers will be in the ATI folder. Then, once you pair it up with either PowerDVD (or just the decoders from PowerDVD), you'll be all set.

Works great for watching videos
Pros: Installed flawlessly using the driver included. No problems at all. Works great and is totally silent because there is no fan and a HUGE heat-sync. When showing HD videos, my system runs at 15-20% CPU (using an nVidia decoder not included with this card.) FYI: I have an old AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual 3800+ running at 2GHz.
Cons: Out of the box it runs warmer than it should. I removed the heat-sync and replaced the pad with a high quality thermal paste. The temperature then dropped 8-10° C on idle to below 50° C. The ATi mpeg decorder included on the CD is definitely substandard. nVidia's PureVideo decoder is still the industry standard which others strive to duplicate.
Other Thoughts: I don't do any gaming whatsoever, nor do I overclock anything. My system is a home-made HD video recorder. This card is a replacement for a Gigabyte 7600GS. I've had two fail in as many years, and wouldn't buy one if I had to do it over again. By comparison, my past experience with ASUS products has been quite good. I've had no problem with any product made by ASUS, which was one reason I chose this particular video card.
