Great Card
Pros: Good price, fan isn't really noticeable, custom heatsink
Will run Crysis all high at 1280 x 1024, and all other games at 1600x1200 max settings, 85 frames
Cons: First time I installed the drivers they were really unstable. Games would exit with an error, crash, not fill the screen. I reinstalled Windows and I'm all right now. The last graphic card was nVidia, maybe that makes a difference. Also, the graphic card is very long, make sure you have a decent case.
Other Thoughts: WinXP, Pentium Dual-Core E2200 @ 2.9 GHz, 2 GB ddr2 667, ultra cheap $30 500 watt
21 inch Apple Studio Display, green CRT Shouldn't work with Windows, but it does
We have to buy from AMD in this economy. If they die, nVidia and Intel will charge stupid prices for their products.

Don't Trust Rebates...................
Pros: The card works fine and takes pretty much everything that I throw at it. Has been stable so far for a couple months. Crysis on high detail, Fallout 3 maxed out etc. Resolution at 1440x900.
Cons: First.. I bought this card almost 3 months ago and I STILL have no recieved the rebates for it. I checked online at www.status-now.com and what do you know... the rebate isn't even there. Sort of makes me not trust Asus with their rebates because it seems as if they're just using it as a way to sell their products, hoping that the buyer will just forget about the rebate... Another issue would be the fan. It keeps the card cool, but after awhile the fan starts to catch onto the heatsink and makes alot of noise.
Other Thoughts: I want my $20...
Manufacturer Response:Dear Valued Customer, If you have any questions or concerns about your rebate, please contact our rebate center at 1-800-953-3098. Best Regards, ASUS SUPPORT TEAM

Rebates are scams!
Pros: Great card, haven't had any problems with it so far after 2.5 months of running it pretty hard.
Cons: Sent the rebate stuff in 2 months ago, haven't received anything from Asus. I read on these reviews/forums that it happens a lot, which makes me think that these so called "rebates"are just a con to get you to buy their products. Beware!
Manufacturer Response:Dear Valued Customer, For rebate status and information, please contact our rebate center at 1-800-953-3098 or online at www.status-now.com. Best Regards, ASUS SUPPORT TEAM

Nice Card
Pros: Bought this card back in November. Very happy with it so far. The games I play don't tax it at all. Combat Arms and Everquest. Neither are exactly cutting edge graphics, but it handles them with ease.
Cons: My fan started clicking recently as well. Took it out and reseated and it went away. If it comes back I'll replace it with an after market fan. This is my 3rd ATI card, and the first issue I've ever had, but it's minor.
Other Thoughts: Recently purchased the 23" Acer LCD for this card. I was worried it may not handle the size or the 1920x1080 native resolution very well. I worried for nothing. The monitor and the card were both great investments!

Great Card, bad cooler
Pros: - Great Card for the money - Fast, cool, plays everything I throw at it - Works great in Vista and Win7
Cons: - Cooler is now "clicking" after 4 months (got it for xmas and installed it in January
Other Thoughts: I don't have a receipt since this was a gift (but it was purchased at Newegg). And since I don't have another vid card I can't send it in and RMA it. Just going to have to spend more $ on a nice Zalman vf900 I guess.

drivers
Pros: this is my second comment, ill mention that with the newer drivers (9.3) , i had severe sound stutters in some titles (battlefield series). I suggest grabbing the drivers straight from asus which is 8.5 and work superbly...also their not packaged with the annoying wow trial and f@h client, 9.1 worked ok too
Cons: use drivers from asus if you encounter problems

early failure
Pros: It is a nice looking board. The patterns it produced when it failed made the blue screen of death look more interesting than I have ever seen before.
Cons: This card started to randomly crash after about two hours of use. After three hours it exhibited lines and patterns in all screens including boot-up screen, bios screen, and even the blue screen of death.
Other Thoughts: This may be a nice card for others, but the one I received appeared to have early memory failure. I assembled my P6T system using ESD safe practices including wrist and heel straps so I doubt the failure was ESD induced, it appears to be a lemon board.
I had to buy another card to complete my system build. NE customer service was very helpful in waiving my return fees.

Awesome
Pros: Rock solid. Havent had a single crash, and it easily copes with my room being 80+ degrees. Also doesnt have that horrid high speed fan sound that alot of cards i have owned did. Runs mass effect/supcom/world in conflict/BF2142 all with ease.
Cons: It doesnt have blue LEDs to match my computer like my x800 did, and its red
Other Thoughts: Best video i found for the price. It hasnt let me down at all. It might not hit the numbers an nvidia card can, but ive never had an nvidia card that was as stable as this.

Bichin' Card
Pros: Relatively quiet, runs great, no problems so far. I've had it for about a month and a half, works superbly. Runs Left 4 Dead no problem with everything run to the top. Slowed down a bit on Fear 2 though, but still runs great on medium settings.
Cons: It wasn't free? :p
Other Thoughts: Installed card, ran driver disk, went straight in. I'm usually an NVidia guy, but I would change to ATI based on this card.

Great card
Pros: Running 2 cards w/ crossfire I am able to run waw w/everything on high GREAT GRAPHICS Great card for the $
Cons: So far no issues w/stock fan (Im knocking on wood)
Other Thoughts: Running on the asus M4A79T delux mb, amd socket 3 Phenom II x4 810 cpu, kingston ddr3 ram, oz 750 ps, all nicely placed in the antec 900 with the asus 26" monitor. all from newegg. I used my old dvd tray & hard drive but ended up with a great gaming system for around $800.00

Best for the price
Pros: Even fits (barely) in my smaller case, as I have a Dell Inspiron 531. Was a major upgrade over the integrated graphics, and for the price the specs are the best. I have warcraft settings set pretty high now and framerates stay steady all over the map. Also like the fact that the fan is actually fairly quiet compared to some cards my friends have, it is barely detectable over my tower fans.
Cons: Only problem I had was I needed to replace the power supply for it to work. But Dell puts such poor ones in anyway I was already looking at a new one anyway.

Watch Out For Fan!!!!!
Pros: Seems to have the best bang for ur buck... of course mine was a for buck shipped lol Performance and temps are great
Cons: thought i was special and exempt to the fan problem... but no after about a month a rattle has surfaced at first i could touch the shroud and it would stop but that soon failed took the fan shroud off and now have a new oem amd fan on the zip-tied down has lowered temps slightly at the cost of a little bit louder fan a horribly designed fan system takes the cost of one egg
Other Thoughts: i hate ghetto'n stuff up but i hate the rma and return process more... and bein without a gpu...and i knew of the problem ahead of time so its my fault... i kinda wanted to get an aftermarket cooler for it anyways to keep it at its maxed out though bios clocks of 700core and 1200mem because the card performs that well

Great card for the price
Pros: For the price this card cant be beat. I have Far Cry 2 set at max graphics and have no problems with the card. Im not even overclocking it yet.
Cons: Puts out a lot of heat. Of all the components in my case this one is definitively the warmest. Second, when switching monitors one of the monitor cord retention nuts came loose on the back. Was able to screw it back in so no damage done.
Other Thoughts: For the cost this card has to be one of the best out there.

Great value after installation pain
Pros: Good price/performance ratio. At this price, plenty fast for everything except bragging rights. Quite.
Cons: Unstable with initial installation. Probably a fault of ATI drivers more than the ASUS board.
Other Thoughts: Upgraded from an NVIDIA 8600GTS. Had some issues with random crashes to BSOD. Eventually re-installed drivers using driversweeper, set my monitor refresh rate down to 60 Hz, and turned off AA -- fixed the problem. Never did figure out the "real" cause of the problem, but my system is stable now.

Fan going, going...
Pros: Did it's job, albeit temporarily.
Cons: Nearly three months after purchasing, my pc started to turn off. I figured it was a heat related issue so I used HWMonitor to determine my videocard was overheating. I ran my pc without the side panel and began to hear the fan slowing down (the fan was dying on me). I flicked the fan to keep it going while I powered down my pc. I've cut out the UPC for the rebate and am wondering if they'll honor their warranty service. We'll see.
Other Thoughts: It's kind of interesting that I'm seeing other people writing in about their fan issues around the same time I am.

Good deal when undewr $100
Pros: Its still working, my folding@home score has gone up over 100k points since I installed it.
Cons: It seems to reset itself a lot, pretty much since I reinstalled f@h. And it seems to pause f@h as well, and can't be resolved unless you reboot. This is probably a problem more with ATI's drivers though.
Still no word on my rebate, or from the ASUS monitor I bought three months before the card, which I got during the paypal promotion. ASUS makes a fine product, but its rebates have proven unreliable. If your buying for price, only look at the base price, don't bother looking at the rebates price!
Other Thoughts: I haven't been into games since I left EQ years ago...I've tried to be, but i just can't get into them. Works pretty flawlessly for watching video though. Maybe someday I'll be a gamer again, because I've had my eye on a 4870 as well!

Graphics card?
Pros: i rated it a three because i really want two... and.. its not two :) its cheap, it works, does exactlly what i want it to. i dont play heavy games with it though (crysis) but i can run normal games at benchmark without a problem. oblivion IV spore universe at war, dont know if thats an accomplishment or not but it works great with no lag yet. and i do enjoy testing my machine :D so yes it puts out
Cons: it went down in price after i bought it...
Other Thoughts: thinking on getting another to do SLI. i think its worth it though i have heard otherwise from first hand users who say "i cant even tell the difference" i however refuse to beleive them and will continue to save. a cheap card with lots of quality. i might go with asus until they let me down. they havent yet

Excellent with CrossFire ... or without
Pros: Got my second one in and CrossFired it. Awesome benchmarks for <$200 for both cards. The coolers are decent ... they do the trick. CCC even worked flawlessly. Great way to get excellent performance for not a lot of money. Thanks egg.
Cons: Doesn't come with bridges. Not a total con because you know they don't come with them when you order them. GPU's got about 8 deg hotter with 2 installed, but my case is partly to blame as air flow isn't great around my cards. Overall, these are really minor cons.
Other Thoughts: Excellent OC'er. Got 650/1020 on both no problem and could have gone farther, but temps were about 64 deg under load and I didn't want to push it. Plus, games play great at those speeds anyway. Asus won't ship you the bridges @ no charge, they want about $15 each, so you have to order them separately. Do yourself a favor and order them cheaper somewhere else.

Great Buy
Pros: First off, i am runnin DX9 so i can only comment for is performance in that use got great deal with free shipping unbeatable price/performance ratio cant even fully use the card due to my older system bottle necking it, but i have a dragon setup on the way to unleash its full fury, and this card still puts out almost full setting at 1680x1050 with my first-gen dual core and *rarely* drops below 30 fps in far cry 2 in COD4&5 i could turn on full anti-aliasing and anistrophic levels with no visual decrease in frames crysis doesnt fare so well but i am convinced this is more related to my mobo/cpu/ram than the card will test that theory in 2 days with a better cooler on of the copper kind im very confident this card can stay very stable at core 700 and mem at least 1150 this start to impact the bottom line value, but does start to offer/exceed 4850s performance and gives a cool look
Cons: was very upset upon first inspection of the card to notice two of the memory thermal pad were missing..... guess that"s what happens when u buy the bottom end of the bin-ing line still disappointing especially since i spent a few extra dollars to get Asus for the "quality" that i have experienced in the past i also seem to be getting higher temps than most have reported idle- 48 load-74 so i will be reattach the sink using worthwhile compound and try to find or salvage extra pads for the memory that were excluded i wont take an egg due to price and ease of fixability why the do they put so much paste on these things!!!!!!!
Other Thoughts: gave life into an older system went from asus x1950pro to this nice upgrade while i waited to to overhaul the rest of my system which are on the way now cant wait to see the difference of going to a Phenom II 710 DFI 790gx 2x1g Corsair 1066 from a socket 939 3600+2.0ghz, Asus A8R, and 2x512 corsair pro c2 400mhz all that for around 300 incredible

Pros: Except for the fan this is a nice card for the money.
Cons: Fan died after 3 months. Started making a horrible clicking noise then died 2 days later. Works fine now that I have a third party heat sink and fan installed.

Great Budget Card!
Pros: Card plugged in and posted with no problems. Runs great at high resolutions and doesn't get hot.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: Antec 900 case w/ Antec Earthwatts 650 PSU 2.8Ghz Phenom II X4 2GB G.Skill 1066Mhz DDR2 Asus ATI HD 4830 Windows XP
I built two of these matching systems for my mother and her husband, they mainly play WoW and these systems eat it up.

Good board + bad fan = bad board
Pros: Worked fine for 3 months.
Cons: Fan died after 3 months. Since I used the rebate and the box no longer has a UPC code, I can't return it for replacement and ASUS just says "see your reseller". Fan is a bad design...read all the problems it had with both the ASUS 4830 and 4670, and don't plan on any help from ASUS.
Other Thoughts: That's the last rebate I send in...I didn't realize that by using the rebate I was forfeiting my warranty. Rebates are the perfect way for manufacturers to get out of warranty responsiblities.
Manufacturer Response:Dear Valued Customer, We are sorry for this inconvenience. Nice Card
Pros: Great card, good bang for the buck. It can handle a pretty good load of graphics, also overclocks great
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: It's not a con i just wish they put the fan on the other side because its so big it blocks one of my PCIe slots.

Great card
Pros: Works great so far, though I have yet to really stress it.
Comes with Component-to-S-Video adapter cable, a single DVI-to-VGA adapter (though there are 2 DVI ports), and a power adapter cable to convert the PCI-E 6-pin plug to two molex (4-pin) plugs, in case-your power supply doesn't have the right plug.
Cons: None yet.
Other Thoughts: My Build: Raidmax AZTEC case Rosewill Performance 550W power supply Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200 2..33GHz CPU Gigabyte EP45-UD3R Mobo Asus EAH4830 HD 4830 w/ 512MB DDR3 graphics card 8GB Crucial DDR2 800 RAM (2x4GB Dual Channel kit)

Pros: Cost Im sure this is a good card i bought it for a friend so i dont use it .......he says it plays all his games on high and does a good job
Cons: had some driver issues with the card .....after install we had no sound ....it was broadcasting through HDMI audio and we couldn't figure out how to switch back to onboard audio kept getting some kind of error that i couldn't find a solution to online........long story short i just installed my old SB Audigy Soundcard into his computer
Other Thoughts: after install of audio card works like a charm

Huge bang for the buck.
Pros: * Great stock cooling * Best card out right now for the price * Overclocks like a beast, runs 675 core cool and stable.
Cons: NO crossfire bridge.
Other Thoughts: If your building a mid-grade budget machine 1-2 of these will do the trick.

Freaking Awesome
Pros: This is a one bad motherlover! I upgraded from a 6800 and this thing is like cimema quality graphics. Unreal 3 runs perfectly maxed out at 1440 x 900. My monitor goes up to 1680 x 1050 but I can't tell a difference so I usually run some of the more intensive stuff at 1440 x 900 and you I can't see the difference nor do I care at the point. Battlefield 2 is like lightening and looks beautiful. When playing UFO: Afterlight at 1680 x 1050 on my 22 in Viewsonic widescreen if you move the camera close to the characters the look like plastic action figures. You just wanna reach in the screen and play with them. IL2 Sturmovik I needed to edit the config file to get widescreen at 1680 x 1050 but, oh my, talk about eye candy! For 100 buck? You have got to be kidding me.... I love this, absolutely love it. I was tempted to get a 9800 before I bought this but ATI always looks sooooo lovely and this card is just amazing. Sell your TV for the cash, you won't watch it anymore anyways.
Cons: Not quite the holodeck but close.
Other Thoughts: Best video card I have ever purchased hands down.

Card is fast and good value
Pros: Easy install and setup. I have played all the games I have at the highest settings with no problem. Much faster than my old 7900GS. No problems with cooling or temps using stock cooling. Runs around 52C idle and I haven't seen it get much higher than about 58C under load. Very happy with the card for the money.
Cons: Only con I have had so far is due to the ATI drivers with the Catalyst Control Center. For some reason I was getting strange errors and crashes when trying to play games like COD World at War initially when I had installed the latest drivers, 9.1 and 9.2. I ended up running Driver Sweeper and removed all the drivers. I then installed only the 9.2 drivers with no CCC and I have not crashed or had any errors since. Instead of dealing with CCC I installed ATI Tray Tools and have been happy.

Keep your fingers away from the fan!
Pros: Good value for money, quiet and cool. No flashy lights. Performs well
Cons: The fan blades are extremely sharp, and will draw blood! One of my case fan connectors is very close to the fan on this card, and on three occasions while plugging the fan in, my knuckles have hit the fan and it has drawn blood each time
Other Thoughts: The box it came in was ridiculously large...I wish ASUS would reduce the size of the packaging to be more eco friendly.

Cant be beat for the price!
Pros: Great card for the Price Paid! Have it fully oc'd through ATI Catylst center without an issue. Use for Folding@Home! I don't think you can get a better card for the money.
Cons: Newegg needs to ditch UPS and go back to Fedex Express saver shipping. I have to order on Sunday or Monday to get by Friday to play for the Weekend!
Other Thoughts: Just waiting for the rebate to come back

Great for the price. Some concerns though.
Pros: Very good bang for the buck. Easy to overclock and is exceptionally quiet.
Cons: I've owned this video card since Christmas, but had to build an entire new rig (a very sad and expensive series of mishaps) to finally use it last week. After two days of use, the fan burned out, and now needs to be RMA'd to ASUS.
Other Thoughts: When it was in use, I was incredibly happy with it, and I'm sure I'll be happy again once I get the card back.

Excellent Card!
Pros: I just got this card and all i can say is that its absolutely incredible. It can just about run anything you throw at it with high fps. Playing COD4, TF2, L4D
I easily overclocked it to 700/1100 and it idles at about 45C for me. Underload it can heat up to about 60-65~C but still cool in my opinion. The fan is fantastic at keeping it cool and its not loud either.
Cons: It does take up 2 slots and did kind of get in the way of my hard drive but nonetheless still a great card
Other Thoughts: doesnt come with a crossfire bridge =(

Fantastic card
Pros: - The heatsink is secured tightly and does a remarkable job at keeping the GPU cool. Definitely much better than the stock AMD reference cooler. My idle temp hovers around 49C and load temp is around 60C. This is just with one 120 mm exhaust fan in my case. - The fan is quiet and barely audible. - Slightly faster stock memory (2000 MHz) vs the standard 1800 MHz found on other 4830 boards. - Incredibly easy to overclock. Maxed out the core at 700 MHz in CCC. Memory is at 1050 MHz (2100 MHz effective). With the overclock, I am getting 4850-level of performance. Not bad for a product that cost < $100!
Cons: - No DVI to HDMI adapter included.

Asus 4830
Pros: Thanks Newegg, for the great price and the free shipping on this item. It also came with a $20 rebate which time will tell if Asus pays off, but a great buy for under a hundred dollars either way. I didn't have any issues with the enclosed Asus driver ver. 8.573 or Smart Doctor on the utility disk. I upgraded to CCC 9.1 because for some reason Bioshock would not load ( just a forever black screen ) with the older version of CCC. FEAR. Crysis, Far Cry, Alone in the Dark, etc. all work fine. The card idles at 40c and 55c under load. If you have a well ventilated case with multiple fans you shouldn't be bothered by the noise from the fan on this card. This Asus card should work well for those on a budget, but still want good performance.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: Specs: E6600 2.4g ( oc 3.2 8x400 ) Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 4g OCZ DDR2 800 Antec 900 case + Antec 500w PSU Asus Radeon 4830 Vista 32

gets the job done
Pros: this card packs a punch for only $150 CDN. crysis: warhead ran smoothly at 30-40FPS enthusiast mode in 1280 x 1024 w/o AA
Cons: compared to the other brands of the HD 4830s, the extra $20 for the asus model doesn't really justify itself, except that you get a power converter and component out cables. also, the HSF will keep the GPU temps at 50C idle and 60C under load. i'm sure that the HSF on other cheaper brands are better, such as sapphire's
Other Thoughts: it's has been a month now, and i haven't gotten a notice regarding the rebate

Asus should stick with Motherboards
Pros: Great performance for the $75 pricetag (after rebate) when it worked. Newegg customer service was outstanding.
Cons: Performance was not what had been described to me by others. After spending 8 days and probably over 10 hours trying to get it to work correctly, it needs to be RMA'd The card was unstable at stock speeds. I would often get an endless ccc gpu recover loop when doing anything strenuous on the card, which would either end in me doing a hard reboot or a system crash. On one such occasion i was prompted with a message to "restart for changes to take effect" after such a loop. I opted to do so because i was never able to properly shut down my computer after the loop had started. When I restarted, CCC did not start, and would not start until I reinstalled the drivers.
Other Thoughts: CCC also said that I had a 1gb card instead of a 512mb card, which would have been great if it worked. However i am not confident this was an error on the part of newegg or by the hardware/drivers (gpu-z reported that it was a 512). I bought this card to replace an Asus EAX1950pro. The 1950 pro had the fan fail after less than 2 years of use, which made it all but useless. I could still comfortably work in my desktop, albeit with a boxfan blowing directly into the case. I should have taken heed to warnings on the Asus 1950pro, I remember reading reviews that the fan had gone on more than one other card. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. I will no longer buy any Asus products unless it is a motherboard. I hope this will help someone to avoid making the same mistake I made twice. Again newegg customer service was outstanding, the are taking care of shipping costs and negating restocking fee's. This is the only reason it gets 2 eggs instead of one.

very good card for the price
Pros: works great with almost every game I throw at it with good fps( Call of duty 4, DMC4, Left 4 Dead, Dead Space...) except of course Crysis or GTA IV
Cons: cannot control speed of the fan therefore the fan is a bit loud when idle.

Bang for your buck
Pros: It's an ATI card. Does what it should for @ 100 bucks. Cheap, fast, plays anything I throw at it, can overclock vpu. Should last roughly 3 years until time for replacement.
Cons: Not top of the line, but who's got 500 bucks to waste on a video card?
Other Thoughts: As of 2/17/09 DO NOT download ATI 9.x CCC, does not go well with this card, yet. Asus drivers seem to work like a champ, stick with those for now.

Running 2
Pros: First time running Xfire. My last machine (built a complete new one) had a 1600XT. Needless to say the difference is night and day.
I have them in a: ASRock A780GXE/128M AM2+/AM2 AMD 780G ATX AMD Mobo
Case: Thermaltake M9 VI1000BWS Black SECC Steel ATX Mid Tower
There is hardly any space between the 2 cards. Not the cards fault. I have a fan pulling heat off of that section from the case.
WOW - Jacked and 60FPS. Loading all myFPSer (STALKER, HL2, L4D, etc.) and expect to jack all of them too.
Looks like I will be revisiting a lot of "older" games just so I can jack the eye candy.
Cons: Had to order the Crossfire cables separate. I find this VERY annoying. The manufactures should "allot" cables to the distributors (newegg etc) so when purchased in pairs they can provide the cables.

Great Card, Cheap Price
Pros: Price - $88 with $20 MIR = 68$ = WIN
Amazing Performance. Maxed out Source,COD4&5,FEAR2,Fallout3 @ 4xAA 1920x1080.
Cooling is pretty quiet compared to most stock coolers. Idles around 40C, Load around 60C. This is with a 650 Core/ 2000 Memory.
Runs on my Sparkle 400 watt power supply.
Cons: No bundle games except for the free WOW trial that a "$50" value. But it didn't take too much room in my trash can so I'm not mad.
Other Thoughts: Works flawless on XP and 7 64bit. Ran driver cleaner since coming from a 7800gt. I actually really like the catalyst control panel, I really thought I would prefer the Nvidia one better. Check temps and over clocking is just a lot easier with the catalyst.

NIce price/performance
Pros: -price vs performance cant be beat
Cons: -factory cooler worked "ok" but was loud and diddnt even cover all the memory units. i replaced it with a zalman cooler ran just a few degrees cooler but was soo much quieter.
Other Thoughts: - overclocked it to 700/2200 only got up to about 55 degrees C playing crysis on very high. -cant play crysis on very high very good but very few cards carn, i would say this is about the same performance of one of my 8800gts on a different rig. BUT when playing crysis the water was sooo much more realistic than when i would play it on my 8800gts SLi rig. that amazed me. i would recomend to buy one. i will soon buy a second as soon as i sell my old rig.

Amazing Performance
Pros: The ASUS EAH4830 is a very nice card. I bought it for 88$(before shipping) and for that price I have to say it's the BEST in its range. The gaming performance is phenomenal. Which is great considering this card is marketed towards budget gamers. I can max all these games at 1920x1080 with 8x AA 16x AF, Left 4 Dead, Far Cry 2, Call of Duty 4, World In Conflict, Lord of The Rings Online etc... It's just a beast of a gaming card.
Cons: The bundle it comes with is fairly weak. Two CD's(manual and drivers), a molex to 6pin PCIE and a DVI to VGA adapter. I was disappointed that they didn't pack a crossfire bridge in with it! This card is priced to where you can get two of them and get HD 4870/GTX 260 performance so the lack of crossfire bridge was a bad move.
Other Thoughts: The only this card really needs is some packaged Crossfire bridges and a 3pin fan header.. Other than that, ASUS has another winner on their hands.

Cheap, but with great performance!
Pros: This is a fantastic card for the price. It has run anythign I have thrown at it on High or Very High with a good framerate and resoultion. The built in fan is actually pretty nice, but the card still gets a bit warm. 2 DVI slots, and an S Video slot are nice to have. Packaging was nice, drivers were easy to install, and the card was very easy to set up. Newegg was very fast getting it out as well!
Cons: The card is actually pretty large, and covers up a PCI slot in my board (almost 2) But that's really more of a motherboard design problem. And again, it gets pretty toasty in there under a pretty small load. When I tested it with some games it didn't warm up much, however.
Other Thoughts: Newegg was very fast getting this out, and it has great perfomance! Would buy again.

Great Value
Pros: Fantastic value. Plays Left4Dead and Fallout3 at Ultra-High Resolutions without a hitch on a very moderately-equipped system. Overclocks very well. ATI auto-tuning took it to 690-MHz GPU / 1189-MHz Memory. However, this generates some artifacts in-game. 625- to 650-MHz seems to be a sweet spot for most 4830's. *Much* quieter than my old PC's nVidia 7600GT.
Cons: Much larger than I expected (compared to a 2006 GPU). With external power connected, this rubs against the guard on my HDD's 120-mm case fan. This is so minor I hate to even note it.
Other Thoughts: ASRock 780GFullHD AMD X2 7750 Kuma G.Skill Pi Black DDR-800 2x2GB

Didn't work for me...
Pros: The price to performance and overall specs easily persuaded me away from nvidia.
Cons: The card worked long enough to load the drivers, and never showed video again after restart. The computer was running and OS was loading, but no video.
Other Thoughts: The card was incredibly hot when I removed it despite the Azenx double fan slot cooler placed below it along with 3 case fans in my tower. Newegg Customer Service for RMA's and over the telephone is top-notch. Polite, knowledgable, and quick; my poor rating should reflect only on this card not Newegg.

best deal
Pros: Best price to performance ratio right now, i was gonna get either this or a 4850 or a 9800gt, and based on all the benchmarks ive seen this seems to be slightly more beefy and future proof then the 9800gt. Also the price is on average 20-30 dollars less, so your getting the same if not better performance as a 9800gt (which is a newer re branded 8800gt) for significantly less money. itll run everything, including crysis, itll run crysis well
Cons: nothing
Other Thoughts: this is the best card right now for price/performance ratio, it has the most efficient clock for clock speed and at 625mhz it will already surpass the 4850 (which is a very easy OC)

Bang for the buck!! BOOM!
Pros: This card runs every game I throw at it max on 1280x1024 or 1600x1200. CoD:WAW max everything! Gta 4 on very high/high with 50 view distance on 1280x1024 at very playable framerates. CSS the fps never goes below 120 on MAX aa and af even in 32 player servers. Left4dead max 1600x1200 no problem. eats far cry 2 alive with hdr and bloom on. You can't do better for under 100$.
Cons: None so far.
Other Thoughts: I thought the fan would be loud but its actually quiet, even under stress. Not expriencing any of the artifacts or driver issues people complain about with ati.

Another defective card
Pros: Great value and nearly performs as well as cards that are higher in price.
Cons: I received a defective card that would overheat and stop working. After touching the card it was SUPER hot. I let it cool and then rebooted. Windows ran for about 7 minutes or so and then the screen went blank again. The computer was still running, just no video. After slapping in another video card to test, everything was fine so I will be RMAing this back to Newegg.
Other Thoughts: Customer support was EGGxelent and I had no problems with them so A+ for them.

Kick A@@!
Pros: Simple install, used latest AMD/ATI multi-core CPU hotfix drivers on my Q9650. Card comes very close on initial benchmark testing to my 4850 at half the cost. Cool running with non-standard heatsink/fan combo. (14K+ 3DMark06; 20k+ 3DMark05 running 700/2100 core/mem on an ASUS Rampage Formula @3.6GHz).
Cons: NO crossfire cable!
Other Thoughts: At sixty nine bones AR, I will probably buy another next month to CrossFire!

works well if you know what you're doing
Pros: Works really well, I can run crysis on very high!
Auto down-clocks during idle to reduce temps.
Cons: Initially the included fan was running really loud, caused by a rubber washer/spacer stuck between the bottom of the fan and the heatsink (??? nothing is supposed to be there!). Fan functioned properly after removing the spacer.
No fan control - the included Asus software is buggy for me.
Card runs hot even at idle, make sure your case is well ventilated.
Other Thoughts: Case circulation is really important, can mean the difference between 35-40C idle or 60C idle.

Nice Card
Pros: - Runs all the games I play nicely. (Crysis, GTAIV etc) - Overclocks well. (700MHz core) - Cheap.
Not sure why people are saying the fan is loud, I have one of the sides of my case off and It's hardly loud, seems to do a good job too.
Cons: - None
Other Thoughts: Would buy again.

great card for price
Pros: price. powerful - running cs:s and tf:2 at max with e7200 and 1920x1200 resolution. overall happy with purchase.
Cons: fan is loud but is expected with powerful cards.
Other Thoughts: the fan started acting up one day, so i gave asus a call and they sent me a new fan/heatsink. i'm glad they handled my issue well, although, my customer service rep seemed a little new. i just needed the fan, but they sent the whole cooling unit. thanks asus. would buy from again.

Pros: Ummm.... Still works. Looks good on paper. I guess it plays games good
Cons: Crashes a lot. Doesnt let me overclock it, when i do the system goes haywire. Not what i expected.
Other Thoughts: i think that might be because my board is PCI-E, not PCI-E 2.0, and the card just isnt getting enough bandwidth. Getting a new board soon, will post back the results

NOT THAT GOOD
Pros: looks nice, but looks can be deceiving
Cons: installed the day i got it and hasnt run right since, kept blue screening on EVERY game. Called ASUS, no help there, my son could have gave me better answers than them, and he is 6.
Other Thoughts: Tried using regular ATI drivers, lets the card work for about 5 minutes, then the card crashes.

I got the dead one.
Pros: Well, obviously since I purchased one of these, in theory its a good card.
Cons: DOA (nearly). Installation causes BIOS beep code for no video card. Eventually after restarting *many* times and fiddling with it, it would display video, but randomly turns itself off displaying nothing within, oh 4 seconds to as long as 5 or 6 minutes. My other video card, a Sapphire 4670, works perfectly in all my equipment. I did try two different PSU's on it (a Hiper 630 and Antec Earthwatts 650, both brand new), I tried it in two motherboards, flashed the BIOS on my DFI LP P45, just in case, but no change in behavior from the card. I am assuming after I shell out the bucks to send it back to newegg I'll get one that works...
Other Thoughts: Being on the East Coast I wish I could send RMA packages to NJ where it shipped from instead of all the way to CA, costing more $ and more delay...

Cons: This card was very hot, Idle @50c~52c & load @75c~80c.

Headshot!
Pros: Exceeds my expectations. Performs about 90% of my 4850 (which cost me 190$ just 4 months ago). 13899 score on 3dmark05 at default settings when paired with a AMD 5000+BE CPU. Idles at 42C Load at 53C
Cons: I wish the cooler was a rear exhaust, but I knew it wasn't when I bought it. The caps have been moved from their original position on the 4850 PCB (I was planning on using my stock cooler from my 4850 on the 4830, since it is copper) so the coolers for a 4850 won't fit on this card (although I suspect an s1 accellero might fit on it.
Other Thoughts: I never expected the stock cooler on this card to do so well. I just always expect these days to replace them with an aftermarket solution (arctic coolers, or TT) but this thing is absolutely running great with the little cooler it came with. Granted that it is in a T3 extreme engine case (which has a 250mm and 180mm fan moving alot of air through the case). Anyways, this is the sweet spot for video cards right now (and it works in crossfire with a 4850 if you already have one of those) with only about 5-10% lower frame rates than 2 4850s... all for around 100$

Crossfire score
Pros: Cheap, decent performance. good overclocker.
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: In a intel q9550 at 4ghz setup, 2 of these at 700/2200, scores over 21000 on 3dmark06.

A Chance On Value
Pros: Great performance : price ratio--when working. Impressive packaging. Includes all accessories.
Cons: The fan started to catch on its encasing when booting up the computer (after a month of ownership) and makes a horrible noise to go along with it. If I put my finger in the fan for a split second it seems to 'reboot' the fan and ends up working properly. I could send it in to ASUS for repair but find it more convenient to just buy an aftermarket replacement fan instead.
Other Thoughts: You could be lucky and get one of these without a problem with the fan down the road. However you could be one of the unlucky ones and end up spending just as much for a 4850...

Amazing card!
Pros: 512 mb DDR3 2 ghz, I don't even hear the fan unless I'm paying close attention. Runs every game and program I've used without slowdown. Works on both Windows and Ubuntu 8.10. The Ubuntu UI eye candy is really cool with this card. Guild Wars gets 150 fps on max settings and 1920*1080 with 4x AA. Sketchup can display 3 mb mansions without problems.
Cons: ...
Other Thoughts: I really only play one game and that's Guild Wars which is older, so not as intensive. This was mainly purchased for Sketchup and Blender. I put this into a Lian-Li mid case and had no problems with space, I was actually able to use it to keep a few cables from moving. Under windows it displays as 1024 mb but Linux says 512. I think Windows is making a mistake.

Pros: It's a good card for the price i mean i can run COD4 on high with now problem
Cons: none except sometimes my computer shuts down when i first start it up
Other Thoughts: well let's see when i start up my computer after an extended time of not using it the fan makes a glunky sound like its hitting something and then after about 5 minutes my computer shuts down and i have to restart and then it does the glunky sound again for about 5 or 10 minutes and it starts working fine . i wish i could control the fan speeds but i haven't been succesfull o well

Hot
Pros: Works, card and fan were not DOA. Cheap for the performance. Designed to run quiet yet still have adequate cooling.
Cons: HOT. Not running with 2nd video card so it gets a workout. After 1 hour plus gaming occasional freeze ups occurred.
Other Thoughts: This is a high performance card and is meant to run hot which is a given. I increased the the airflow in my case and things got better. Then I put on an aftermarket video card cooling kit to keep it that way. It would have survived with just better case cooling but I don't like to stress components more than needed and I don't want to bother with a 2nd card.

Awesome for price!
Pros: You can't go wrong for the price (<$100). Easily fit in my mid tower. Some people say the fan is loud, but it doesn't bother me a bit. Dowloaded the latest drivers and have had absolutely no problems.
Cons: Really none other than it doesn't come with the X-fire bridge, but I heard ASUS will ship one for free if you show proof of purchase of 2 cards. Not sure if that's right, but that's what I heard.
Other Thoughts: I haven't OC'd yet, but mostly because it runs the games I like to play run just fine with this card. I plan on X-firing with another in a couple of months and, from the reviews I've read, it should put it just under 2x 4850's ... and for about $100 less. Runs idle @ 41*C and under load @ $47*C.

Good deal, but bad deal too
Pros: Plays everything that I want it to quite proficiently.
Cons: Sometimes the fan will make a terrible clunky noise for a while, then stop making the clunky noise and then get loud and go really slow, eventually overheats and shuts down.
Other Thoughts: I was thinking of living with it, since sometimes it doesn't do the clunky thing. Since i'm a newb I don't know what to do. But it's getting increasingly worse, and now is intolerable.

About the size
Pros: Overall this is a very good I would recommend to anyone and with the newest drivers it's performs really well
Cons: Does run a little hot, as do all HD 4800 series cards (though they can take fairly high temps)
Other Thoughts: This card is basically an HD 4850...Just with part of it shut off. No two ways about it, it's one of the best values around. Period.

ATI way to go!!!
Pros: This is a great card. I do some gaming with it, but mostly I was interested in having a dragon setup. I haven't oc'd any yet, but I will shortly.
Cons: I was really wanting to get a copper heatsink. But it works for now.
Other Thoughts: PHII X4 940, 790FX ASUS, 4830 ATI, 4 gigs of DDR2 1066, 300 GIG VELOCIRAPTOR

2 Bad off the bat
Pros: 2000MHz card rather than standard 1800MHz, and from what i've read superior heat sink/fan.
Cons: JUST FYI- I bought a computer off <online auction site> with this card. When i got the computer, the card was messed up. Sent it back to the guy, he RMA'd it, got another one. Same thing happened. that 's 2 broken for one person... I've read other reviews that say ASUS aren't very good, other models that is. The guy is now giving me another manufacturer's card b/c ASUS are showing how horrible they are. Since i didn't get a mobo w/ on-board graphics, i'm stuck waiting around b/c these cards are broken.
Other Thoughts: I thought since it was the 2000 MHz card and has a nice heat sink it'd be a good card. Doesn't matter the specs if the card's broken... :\

Excellent video card
Pros: Nice cost effective performer. Runs very quiet at factory fan settings and frequencies. Works great for moderate gaming and general applications.
Cons: Having moved from an NVIDIA card to RADEON - Nvidia had a nice monitor optimization routine with test screens for setting up the monitor brightness/contrast and color gammas and creating a custom color profile. The Radeon software does not have this. I miss it. This is not a diss against this particular card, but against the ATI software.
Other Thoughts: I have not attempted to overclock this card as it runs fine at factory clock settings for my games (I'm not an extreme gamer).

Finally...Great video at a great price!
Pros: Video card prices have gotten out of control in the last few years, but this one is bringing value back into great video cards.
Right now I'm running it at 666/1020 without any artifacts or lockups and am getting my best 3DMark scores ever (upgraded from a hot running 8800gts which I could've fried eggs on). I haven't tried it at any higher frequencies yet.
Cons: Catalyst Control Center (CCC) is a joke. Don't waste your time installing it. I used it with my last ATI card and it was the worst video card utility I've ever came across; with this card and system it won't even run -- it just crashes instantly and yes I have .NET installed). Minus 1 star for the CCC.
Other Thoughts: I've had the card for about a month and love it.
Temperature isn't bad for a video card, but it would be nice if it would cool down more at an idle. The card doesn't feel hot to touch, but the ASUS utility says 120`F at an idle. The temp is 140`F under load which is actually a fairly cool for a fast video card now days.

Impressive
Pros: Was always a nVidia fan, decided to go ATI this year and i loved it. Nothing different than nVidia except for the control panel (Don't like) but i feel like ATI Performs better than nVidia.
Cons: No cool little sticker. Don't like ATI Control panel.
Other Thoughts: For $100, this card was definitely worth every penny.

Pros: this card is much faster then my 8500gt got excellent frame rates on grid bf2 and arma
Cons: runs way to hot for me an no fan control even after dropping gpu to 500 an having arma maxed out in the settings i would get in excess of 80c and it would start artifacting.
Other Thoughts: rma and thinking about getting a 4850 for the extra 50 dollars. as always newegg gives good customer support.

Unbelievable Overclocker
Pros: Ran through ATI's Overdrive and maxed out on the overclocking capability of the video card (at least through the Catalyst Control Center). GPU: 700 MHz Memory: 1200 MHz Overclockers.com showed 700 MHz for the GPU and 1075 MHz for the Memory.
Cons: For the price: NONE
Other Thoughts: Have a Power & Cooling 750W PSU. Definitely recommended for overclocking. Will be trying another overclocking program to try and get the GPU even higher from other articles I've read. AWESOME!!

confirmation its big
Pros: Extremely high tech currently for the price. This is the best video card you can get for the money right now. -Amazing fan covers all important components and disperses heat good -major improvement in a benchmark test over a X1650 to the system as a whole. -640 stream processors cannot be beat by any Nvidia product anywhere near this price which greatly boosts complete system speed even when not gaming
Cons: no real cons so far, instruction manual is absolute garbage if you dont know what your doing, completely generic.
Other Thoughts: I read a review from a previous poster that this thing was big, and while I believed it I didnt imagine exactly how big it was. I put this in a relatively wide case (achilles gaming tower) and had a lot of trouble, had to move a lot of wires out of the way so anyone with multiple harddrives or PCI hardware might have trouble with this.
Overall amazing card for a good price, if your looking for an upgrade for a casual gaming machine you can't go wrong here.

Great card for the buck!
Pros: Great card! It replaces a 256MB PCI video card which was not bad, but does this thing scream. I received the card in 1 day! Thanks Newegg!
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: It's a good sized card but manageable. I was able to route the cables around it without any difficulty.

Great cards
Pros: Cheap crossfire setup that will out will outperform all but the most expensive single cards from ati and nvida, very nice over clock 700/2150 on both cards with zero artifacts
Cons: they can run warm, but after further reading around the web most all 4800's run warmer compared to 3800 card's, there just made that way, so not really any cons
Other Thoughts: Was 2 4830's or 1 4870, since most all new games have there crossfire problems fixed, I’m very glad I bought 2 of these. Some web reviews have crossfire 4830's beating a gtx280 in a few games, and those are the are slower 4830's from an other company. And compared with a 4870, crossfire 4830’s will get a 29.5% performance boost on 3DMark Vantage on Extreme setting, so spend the same or less with buying 2 of these and destroy a 4870, best bang for buck you will find

OK I guess
Pros: Ok price
Cons: Not all the powerful. My 9400 is better and needs no extra power.
Other Thoughts: Got this to stop a buzzing humming sound from my speakers when I play games. I get the same sound, but worse with this. Maybe it is my power supply making the sound and that is why the extra power draw makes more noise.

Great Card
Pros: It runs great and pretty quiet. I had two crossfired with my new computer but the second one wont work. The fan isnt even spinning on it. It may be DOA. Havent had a whole lot of time to look at it yet. But the one that works works great! It has handled everything that I can throw at it superbly.
Cons: Like I said. I think one was DOA and the Controller syster software that comes with it isnt that great.
Other Thoughts: ASUS Rampage Formula Motherboard, Corssair 8gig RAM, Intel Quad Core 2.66 (Not overclocked yet) ASUS EAH4830 VGA (X2)

great card
Pros: Overclocks well. Can't hear it over my cpu fan. I can max out all of my games 'cept for Crysis at 1680 X 1050.
Cons: non really
Other Thoughts: It sits in an NZXT Apllo case. During heavy gaming it gets close to 80c. I'm not too worried about the heat since my temps didn't change a whole lot after overclocking. I've got the gpu overclocked to 690mhz up from 575. I left the memory where it is.

Perfect Entry/Mid Level Card
Pros: Clean construction, excellent fan (covers the memory chips as well as the GPU) that is large enough to keep everything cool and is very quiet.
Cons: None considering the price point.
Other Thoughts: Excellent framerates in WoW with all effects turned up. Constant 40s in major cities @ 1440x900 on a 19" LCD. To note: 2GB DDR2-800 & AMD Phenom X3 8450 CPU. Heat not an issue, Everest showed GPU temps not exceeding 50C after gaming for a couple hours. I highly recommend this card to anyone looking to spend right around $100 on a budget gaming system. It's much better than any onboard solution and I'd say it is faster than any nVidia 9500 or 9600 series card as well.

Great Card for the Buck$!
Pros: Excellent card. "Let's do this!"-COD4. Playing COD4 multiplayer 100+fps. Cheap price. The card is built excellent. The heat sink design and the black grossly bracket that holds it is simply impressive. Uses ATI's latest official drivers. No problems installing this card. My specs are basic. Im using AthlonX2 4200 (socket 939) 2.2ghz, 4gig of ram, 6 SATA 9.5 tera(s).
Cons: Bad packaging through newegg? Sorry no disrespect. Ace Ventura handled my shipping. Jeez the box was hammered! Like someone sat on top of it. I'm serious. The ups guy left a trail of foam to my front door step. It's prolly not newegg fault. UPS has been getting complaints also. This season is busy - considered that also.
Other Thoughts: I took this card back and got myself a Visiontek 4870x2. I don't got time to get the cheapest card on the market. Don't waste your time with crossfire, and quad processors its all over-rated. Just get the best video card out there - to do all that.

Monster Overclocker
Pros: Monster Overclocker! Runs cool.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: Overclocked to 700 / 2300. Runs at 41c idle, 58c load. Heatsink and fan are made by Arctic Cooling. Asus is still proving itself to be the best!

Asus
Pros: Great price/performance ratio, handles current games at high detail settings very well, the only thing that slowed it down at all was Crysis on high detail settings in DX9, putting the settings to medium made the game as smooth as silk.
Cons: None, great price/performance card!

Nice card, good price
Pros: Worked out of the box with Windows Vista 32 Bit - Aero and everything ran great. Can't hear it over the rest of the fans in the box, but that isn't saying much. Nice size for this case and MOBO, doesn't block anything.
Cons: A few days after setting it all up, I lost all hardware acceleration and access to directX 10. Still not sure what broke the system, but I was running all Vista updates, and flashed the bios to latest version. Latest drivers available from ASUS did not fix, but it was all fixed with Catalyst suite 8.12 direct from AMD.
Other Thoughts: Haven't tried any 3D games yet - been too busy trying to get DirectX10 back.

Nice performance/price ratio
Pros: Plays games like UT3, TF2, HL2:EP2, COD4 & 5 all settings maxed out with extremely smooth gameplay (havent checked fps yet). For $100 with a mail in rebate, you can't go wrong with this card.
Cons: My card runs at 50 - 55 C just at idle! Im hesitating OCing this card just from these temps I'm getting.
Other Thoughts: I chose this over a 9800 GT. You won't be disappointed with this card, I promise. :D

Pros: Great value. Pretty low power consumption - both Idle and Load.
Cons: The Fan is LOUD. I have not been able to D/L catalyst drivers that allow adjusting the fan speed.

Nice upgrade
Pros: The heatsink on this thing is custom built by ASUS, and no other brand of 4830 has this kind of heatsink. This card runs for me at 55C on a load, and around 40C when idle. It was just the right size to fit comfortably in to my case and not block anything. The picture quality is perfect as expected. Overclocking is easy, and this card might even be able to run on par with an HD4850. stocked it is as good or better than the 9800gt.....I've tried under clocking, default clocking, but I haven't had the need to overclock yet, ahahaha. Though I'm sure it is just as easy.
Cons: I've only tried playing dynasty warriors 6, and right now it skips a few frames when you're surrounded by like 100 enemies (maxed setting on every category), but then again it dynasty warriors lag way worse on the ps2. This card is also known to consume as much power as the HD4850, although the heat on this thing is significantly less.
Other Thoughts: What more can I ask for? I shelled out $119, and got exactly what I expected in return? Not that I'm disappointed or anything. This is quite a step up from my hd3200 onboard.
My setup: Rosewill 550W 1.3V PSU Rosewill conquerer (3X120mm fans) 4 gig of A.DATA 800mhz RAM 250g Western digital @ 7200rpm Asus hd4830!! gigabyte GA-780gm-2sh

More Powerful Than Hoped For
Pros: Displays 80 to 100 Fps in BF2142 for single player mode with all quality settings maxed out at 1440x900 resolution. Picture quality is noticeably "crisper" compared to my previous 8800GT card using High Quality settings in both card's software control panels.
Cons: Fan is a bit loud but bearable. I ran ATI's Auto-tune overclocking utility and it locked up my system. It then repeated lockup every time it restarted my PC until I reverted to a Restore point (in safe mode) before the installtion... run Auto-tune at your own risk!
Other Thoughts: Replaced an 8800GT with this card and am very pleased with the 4830's improved picture quality at similar to slightly higher frame rates. Runs a bit warm in my mediocre ventilated case at 71C under 100% load. Tested at 10,500 3DMark06 using overclocked E4300 CPU at 3.0 Ghz.
