Hmm...
Pros: Can run some high end games at high frame rates. Looks nice. Adjustable fan control.
Cons: This card couldnt keep a steady frame rate while playing TF2, Prototype, or Portal. Very easy to run games but ATI is just too careless with their designing. My first and last ATI card. Nvidia is a way more steady and reliable chipset. My old geforce 9500gt ran both games way smoother and steadier than this peice of junk.
From what i've seen from videos and other people using this card. Any overclocking causes flickering on the screens. I didnt try it after seeing this. Calling shenanigans on the 300% OC.
Other Thoughts: Nvidia > ATI
Do yourself a favor and buy a GTX 275

updated review
Pros: 1GB DDR5 RAM. 2-DVI ports
Cons: Draws WAY too much power. Manual supplied with card has no relation to the actual EAH4890 graphics card. Nowhere does the manual say you MUST CONNECT BOTH AN 8-PIN CONNECTOR AND A 6-PIN POWER CONNECTOR TO YOUR PS.
Other Thoughts: This is an update to my earlier 1-Egg review. I ended up having to replace my 550-watt PS with an 850-watt -- the minimum you need, IMO. I almost didn't have enough connectors to power everything in my computer AND the graphics card. The only real plus is ASUS has US based tech support, so I called them when I couldn't get my computer to boot, originally. I expect more from ASUS. In the end, the performance is not what I expected. The card/drivers crash my system on a somewhat regular basis, and Photoshop CS4 seems incompatible with the card and drivers (multiple crashes). Is it AMD/ATI? Is it ASUS? I can't isolate the problems enough to fins the root of the problems.

OK
Pros: Replaced my two 3870's in crossfire to free up space for my raid controller card. Also uses less power.
Cons: Only as good as my two 3870's in crossfire. Any overclocking causes flicker. None of the ASUS software works with Windows 7 64 bit. Read a lot about the problem finally gave up. 300% overclock margin? Like to see that. Best i could get was 7%.
Other Thoughts: I see the FPS dip below 20 in Crysis. Average would be around 28-32 with 1650 x 1080 all settings at max. Not running a powerhouse, but I have a phenom II X4 940 @ 3.8 with 4gb DDR2 1066.

Very nice and solid GPU
Pros: Very solid card for the money, CrossFires easily, OCs easily and for a large card has a decent form factor.
I built a new system just to play high-end games and decided to give this card a try, it was a good choice looking back at it. You can do soft OC on the fly with the included software, regulate voltage in the CPU/Memory and regulate the fan speed, all in your native OS. The card was plug & play as well, my EVGA x58 recognized it without any funny business (I know, ATI card on a EVGA board :-p).
I would recommend this GPU to both experienced and inexperienced users, there are many mods available for it including dominator heat sinks or you can leave it stock as well.
Playing AION, Borderlands, Crysis 2, ModernWarfare 2 I get over 130FPS all the time on full settings @ 1680x1050.
Buy this card and you will be happy.
Cons: Yeah, there was one thing that bothered me. The documentation enclosed with the card, it was of a Radeon that is no longer sold and does not even have the same dimension/chipset. Something else they forgot to mention (in both online/offline docs) they changed to power pins/plugs on the card, you need both a 6-pin and 8-pin modular to get this puppy to power up, lots of power draw. With an i7-920 make sure you have at least 850 Watt coming out of you PSU (the more the better really).
Other Thoughts: Newegg did a good job shipping this out on time. The packaging (both from Asus and Newegg) was decent and prevented any possible damage to the card. Make sure you have a big enough case for this, I would not bother with a mini-ATX you will just get frustrated. Full size board and tower is highly recommended.

Works great with AutoCAD and games but...
Pros: This card was easy to install though rather large. Required some rerouting of a few cables and as others have mentioned it did block one of my pci slots. Did not need it so no big deal. The fan is a little noisy as the system starts up but calms down to an acceptable level after that. It has made using AutoCAD a much more enjoyable and screen redraws are very fast.
Cons: My Dell 24" monitor blinks off for a brief moment several times an hour (the DVI input symbol pops up everytime it happens). I have a Gateway 24" and a Dell 24" hooked up to the card and the Gateway has never blinked off once. I looked on the internet and see that this is a problem others are having as well. I hope that ATI (or Dell) will come out with a driver soon that addresses this problem. I keep updating the drivers as soon as they get published but still to no avail.
Other Thoughts: Asus P6T Deluxe V2 mb Intel i7 920 Win 7 64 bit

So far a great card!
Pros: Great card, great cooling, great company. Thanks New Egg!!
Cons: would be nice if it's smaller.
Other Thoughts: A make sure you have the right power supply, this baby sucks power (just like any other card)

Crummy F.P.S. in Crysis...
Pros: Real solid BIG card, looks like I could drop it from my 6th story window and still use it, but i dunno why anyone would...
Seems to be pretty solid software
Cons: For some reason I am only getting a 5-8fps on Crysis at high setting with 1920x1080 and different A.A. settings!!!!
I am trying to update the driver but it is only downloading at 5kb/s directly from Asus global dlm (why so slow???)
This card is BIG, it blocks out both of my PCI express slots on a Asus m4a79xtd evo M.B.
Oh well, I hope this is just a driver issue and not a dead card.... Im kinda a Asus fanboy but am rather angry at these results...
Other Thoughts: My first results in rig building are as follows...
AMD phenom II x4 965 Asus m4a79xtd evo motherboard Antec 300 Illusion case HP 2159 monitor Crucial 64gb sata SSD (runs my O.S. only) WD Caviar 120gb h.d. runs at 7200 i think with a 8mb cache (crysis is installed in) WD Caviar Green 15EADS 1.5TB 32mb cache Windows 7 professional 64-bit G-skill f3 12800CL9T-6gbnq (only using 2 of 3 strips) Thermaltake TR2 RX 850W PSU ASUS EAH4890 1GB GDDR5 G.P.U. A great choice
Pros: Runs perfect in my rig. I have two in crossfire and my FPS never drops. I was playing Dragon Age in full settings with a steady 60fps. Later I noticed that I had crossfire turned off while I was playing. One of these cards can do more than my old Engtx295 could. Having two I can tell I won't need to upgrade any time soon. The two fans are very quiet. The other fans in my case are pretty loud so they may just be drowned out.
Cons: Overclocking even a little leads to flickering and errors. Could be my board or even my monitor for all I know. I can't OC my cards in the least without having problems.
Other Thoughts: I had no problems with heat at all. That could be thanks to fact that I can't OC this card.

Flawless
Pros: Able to play every game out there extremely well. If you've got issues with this, check your other specs.
Cons: Price seemed a little high compared to other graphics cards in same range
Other Thoughts: Runs a little hot, but it can handle the heat.
Couldn't hurt to aim a few fans it's way

nice... very nice
Pros: Wonderful card, glad I spent the Money for this device. I have the ASUS MB and wanted the same manufacture. Great graphics, very clear with my 24 inch ASUS HDMI monitor.
Cons: Not enough instructions. Had to go onsite and the internet to find out how to power the card.
Other Thoughts: Worth the $$$

Excellent card
Pros: Quiet, and easy to install drivers. Could play just about any game I want now, with no problems. Great price too.
Cons: Pixel shader and vertex shader version is at 3.0, Some games require 4.0 (RE5).
Other Thoughts: This card will have to do cause it's impossible to find the Ati 5870.

DOA
Pros: The card came in a really nice package and it fit in my mid case just fine (its really big!) to me it looks like a good stable card.
Cons: Where should i start?
The so called power connectors didn't work at all, every time i would hook it up with the power connectors it came with, it said there wasn't enough power going to the card.
So i used the ones that came with my PSU and it worked for a second...., then the screen went blank and i tried everything i could but there was no saving it.
so i RMA'ed and im still waiting for another one to be shipped to my house witch is taking more then 15 days...
Other Thoughts: The fans are kinda loud when they are running from what i could see.
They also need a better Manual, there was nothing in there that helped.

Great card for the $....
Pros: Nice card, I'm running it in an Asus Crosshair III mobo, and no probs running Crysis at high settings... Haven't tried OC yet... Runs quietly at idle, and not much louder under full load... Nice:)
Cons: If you want to put this in the Crosshair III like me, be warned that the top cooling fins on the card interfere a little with the X-Fi card that comes with the mobo. A little loosening of the thumbscrew helped it sit at a slight angle, so no biggie, but still...
Other Thoughts: Will be nicer when I add another in Crossfire:)

Great 4890!!
Pros: Very glad I went with this card. The cooling is great. It scores a 7.5 in Windows for graphics!! No problems so far and recommend this to everyone.
Cons: Installing the drivers and Overclocking software can be tricky. Follow the instructions carefully and it will work!!

I'd love it -- if it worked
Pros: Good price point. Lots of ast RAM. Specs look good. Dual cooling fans. Dual DVI ports.
Cons: Potential draw on system power, or incompatability have kept this board out of my system. Card is LARGE, which makes fitting in many boards problematic.
Other Thoughts: First of all, I don't play games. I'm a professional photographer and Photoshop now utilizes the power inherent in graphics cards like this. I bought it to replace two older nVidia 8600GT cards. However, every time I put this in my MSI K9M2 Platinim board, the computer fails to boot, returning a series of POST beeps. I've now tried installation four times -- always the same effect. I have a 550 watt power supply, but probably need even more -- something that's not spelled out on the specs. I'm now saddled with a worthless card until I a) replace my power supply and try again (no guarantee it'll work them), or B) rebuild my computer with a new MB and power supply. A final note, when I tried fitting it my MB, I had to remove and relocate ALL other cards in the system to try to get it to fit. Even then it was tight and created problems with relocating drive cables. This is a HUGE, LONG card.

Decent overclocking and Quiet fans
Pros: Excellent cooling. Great Overclocking. Decent price particularly with current rebates.
Cons: Not a 5850. No DX11. No Eyefinity.
Other Thoughts: Bought because tired of waiting for 5850 availability. Reviewed many 4870,5770,4890 and 5850.
Overclocks well, excellent stock speeds and great price.

Extreme Quality!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pros: Looks ultra cool in your case if it's windowed!!!! After going through 5 bad cards from XFX in a row, I finally decided to try Asus's 4890 and Im soooo glad I did!!! Plugged it in and was good to go!!! This card is really quiet even on higher fan settings!!! Out performs the one and only decent XFX 4890 that I already had in my case. I would get almost 10 more frames per second on GTA 4 on stock setting compared to my overclocked XFX!! It's completely solid and the dual fan heat design is excellent!! Doesn't even reach 60*C when gaming!! From what I hear, Asus tech support is excellent!! Plays Far Cry 2 without breaking a sweat on my 25.5 inch monitor at 1900x1200 res!! Everything I mentioned was not in crossfire mode!!! Can't go wrong with this!!
Cons: Not too much of a con, but when I go to overclock in the Catalyst Control Center, ...even the slightest overclock makes my screen flicker contantly!! This is suprising considering the overclocking power this thing is supposed to produce!! Guess I'll have to give Asus a call!!
Other Thoughts: As soon as I saw how this thing performed, I sold my XFX card to buy another one these for crossfire!!

awesome/cool
Pros: powerfull,quiet and cool
Cons: not cheaper
Other Thoughts: I bought an open box of this item and works great, I have a 2gb in my main system that I had to change heatsink on to quiet and cool it down whereas this unit is quiet and keeps idle temps at 40 full running at 56 under full load, nice design with great airflow in a antec 200 case

Excellent Card!
Pros: Rock solid card. Plays all my games at 1680x1050 on my 24" widescreen trinitron with max settings flawlessly (Crysis, Crysis Warhead, Farcry 2, NFS Shift....). If your not wanting to jump on the DX11 bandwagon yet, this is the card to get. Cooler design works great, and is much quieter than other cards i've owned.
Cons: make sure your PSU can handle it. ASUS includes the PS connectors if you dont have an 8pin 12v to connect to the card. Takes both a 6 pin and 8 pin 12v connection to the card.

Great Card
Pros: Can run every game i play on highest setting. Fallout 3, Left 4 Dead, Mass Effect, Crysis, even Arkham Asylem. Played Left 4 Dead 3 hours, the card never got above 58 C. Everything running on Auto setting no need to over clock, at least not yet.
Cons: It has a 8 prong power hookup. My motherboard required the only one i had so i had to use the adapter they send, not a problem except if i ever want to run them in crossfire i will have to purchase a new power supply.
Other Thoughts: I have always owned Nvidia cards this is my first ATI and unless you want built in physics, this card is the way to go, that is if you have a really good power supply

Needs solid power supply
Pros: Fast and stable. Large fans. Didn't give much of a speed boost in FPS over my 8800GTX due to CPU bound performance, but when running 2 instances of WoW both ran at full FPS vs significant degradation for the 8800.
Cons: I hate the software for controlling OC, etc. Quite sensitive to power supply. Be mindful of the rails in your P/S. Many large "wattage" P/S have 4 rails. Will not fail gracefully. Hard shutdown.
Other Thoughts: I had a 550w thermaltake P/S. The card would run fine, but occasional hard shutdown with a redlight indicating underpowered situation. Given the stated load I should have at least 80w of headroom. The card was on both 12v rails, so should not have been an issue. Upgraded to a corsair 750 with a single 60amp rail. haven't had an issue since.

Perfect Upgrade
Pros: The Asus 4890 was a great upgrade for my computer. Upgraded from an XFX Nvida 9800GT to this card and it runs fast, smooth, and it's pretty cool.
Cons: Had trouble with the drivers but I spent my time figuring it out and it all ran fine afterwards.
Other Thoughts: Great price for the card. Got the 15 dollars off promo card + the rebate! Asus makes fine quality products and they have great customer service who knows their products.

Wonderful Drivers, don't listen to others!
Pros: Absolutely beautiful design! Powerful single card solution. Custom fans and PCB. Doesn't take much of a hit from running high anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering.
Great drivers with great support. Don't listen to the nVidia fan boys. They say they were forced to buy ATI because of their motherboard. What nVidia enthusiast buys a NON-SLI board and goes with a Crossfire board? Seriously? Seems suspicious to me. nVidia drivers are pretty plain, and are made for the common PC user. nVidia loves to market to new comers who don't know what they are really doing, and cannot troubleshoot. nVidia may tout higher compatibility and higher FPS, but real PC enthusiasts know this is just a game. nVidia lacks too much and is too vanilla for me. I want a card I can tear apart, customize the drivers, BIOS and software. Its easy to get 10% more out of an ATI card while improving image quality at the same time. Something nVidia cards lack.
Cons: It does produce heat, like any hard working card. This card can operate at high temps though, so don't get nervous when seeing higher than average temps for a card. But if you have PROPER COOLING like an enthusiast should and not some fifty dollar steel case, you'll be just fine and the card will run fairly cool.
Other Thoughts: The drivers for these cards are just as good as nVidia's. The problem lies with the new comers in this hobby who think after slapping a PC together they now have all the tech knowledge in the world. They constantly RMA perfectly good prodcuts for not "overclocking good enough" and simple tech problems that any PC tech could troubleshoot in a matter of minutes. Too many bad reviews coming from people that do not take a few minutes of their time to do proper research and LEARN the right way. The new generation of "instant gratification, give me now!" types are ruining this hobby, driving up costs for us all and giving GREAT PRODUCTS horrible reviews because of their own shortfalls and lack of understanding. The drivers for this card are better than nVidia, are more straightforward and customizable than ANYTHING nVidia has ever put out. Take it from me, I've used both in the last 14 years, have owned more than 5 cards from each company. nVidia is too vanilla, only cares about FPS.

Drivers or Super Circuits
Pros: They still work.
Cons: Screen flicker
Other Thoughts: If you remove the heat sinks on a ATI and Nvidia card you can barely tell them apart because they both are made up of circuits and a PCB board. So why do one cost so much more then the other? Its because one company (Nvidia) spends the time and resources developing good drivers while the other (ATI) rely on fanboys to buy there products good or bad. And truth be known ATI specs of there chips and GDDR5 ram is far more advanced and have higher clock speed more stream processors then Nvidia. But they don't have the quality of (DRIVERS) that Nvidia have. People its not that Nividia have some kinda extraterrestrial electronics in them. they just have better drivers thats it. And people like me are willing to pay the extra money for quality. So don't be salty at my reviews when I tell the truth about a product I have.If I didn't have a screen flicker problem I would not say I do its not like I have money invested in Nvidia but I do in ATI about 450 bucks plus Koolance water blocks.

NICE CARDS
Pros: WELL FOR THE MONEY, ITS HARD TO BEAT. RUNS GOOD WITH COD4, CODWAW and BF2142, Good for gaming. no problem maxing out settings..
A+++
Cons: I bought 2 of these cards and run them in crossfire with the new AMD 965 CPU. the only prob i have is that one of my cards seems to get ungodly hot , makes me a little nervous at time. even with the 2 stock fans running wide open they get crazy hot... THESE THINGS NEED BETTER COOLING SYSTEM...
Other Thoughts: GOOD CARDS, BUT THEY GET HOT ENOUGH TO ALMOST MELT... IM a ASUS person , but I really wish they would do something about the cooling on these cards....HOT HOT HOT...

Money to waste only
Pros: They do work in crossfire, Not great but they do work
Cons: ATI drivers are garbage thats why I buy Nvidia.I only bought thesee cards is because my DFI Lanparty Jr P45 chipset only support Crossfire not SLI. I stopped buying ATI cards over 5or6 years ago beecause of there junk drivers. The cards work fine its the drivers that ati can't develope. The ATI chipset works. Kinda like putting a racing engine in a car with square wheels.a waste of time and money.Never again.I'm thankful for Intel X58 chipset no more crossfire for me.I don't care how cheap ati cards are I want quality and I will gladly pay Nvidia for it.
Other Thoughts: Asus tech support guy (Brian) said I was getting the flicker because my 620 watt Corsair power supply was not enough to power 2 of these in crossfire so I buy a 1200watt BFG and I still have the same problem. What next I need a Asus brand power supply?

Amzing
Pros: Runs very cool (42c idle 64c full load) , great looking, Amazing performance.
Cons: Too Big, Fans can wake the entire house at high rpm's ^^. I bought this Card from ASUS just because it says 300% of overclocking margins with super Ml cap, and tweak voltage blah blah blah, and it is suposed to be the best card/brand to overclock in the market. However I couldn't get the card to run higher then 900/975. Even my geforce 8600gt was capable of overclocking much higher than that!!! I Am veryyyyy frustated with ASUS. I was thinking in buying another one of these ASUS, but not anymore!!!And to conclude Smart Doctor is NOT Working, not just for me but for 95% of the poulation.
Other Thoughts: Specs Windows 7 interprise x64 core2quad q6700 @3.1ghz mobo ipibl-lb 2 hd's 500gb raid 0 hitachi sata 7200rpm 4gb ram dual channel ddr2 800mhz sunbean 750w

Great Product
Pros: Very Overclockable Runs Cool Rebate and promo code
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: My GTX 260 216 died and I said there is no way I going for an NVIDIA card again, since my X48 chipest support crossfire. With this card I saw higher framerates and lower heat. Thanks to its super cooler.

Way more for a little more
Pros: A lot more power for being only a little more than the 4870. I have 2 of these crossfired and easily overclocked using ASUS's Smartdoctor software up to 925Mhz core and 4000Mhz Memory on stock voltage. Very stable and very cool.
Cons: 4 fans total in crossfire running Crysis on full settings makes it sound like someone is landing a Harrier jet is landing in the room.
Other Thoughts: Spending 300 dollars on extra watercooling parts to cover these cards along with my processor would be wicked... but not gonna happen for a while.

Pros: Great overclocking, not real loud, and pretty good utilities. I know there are nvidia people who write reviews about ATI products just to bash them which is just sad and pathetic. I never saw this card get over 54 degrees and that was after hours of playing. For the money its is a very nice card that is hard to beat for the price and performance.
Cons: NOT a 5870
Other Thoughts: Seriously, it overclocked easily and remained stable, no jitters, no freezing, no problems of any kind. It runs cool and isn't that loud even with the fan on high which mine never needed anyway.

Screen Flicker
Pros: They do work, Nice specs,Asus build quality
Cons: Screen Flicker
Other Thoughts: I get a constant intermitten screen flick I called Asus spoke with some guy name (Brian) who says he was a record holder for overclocking spoke with him about the flicker problem he said my Corsair HX620 power supply was not powerful enough to run two of these in crossfire.Im using Koolance water block so I know its not a heat issue they stay around 35 celsius under load. So i'm gonna try a 1200 watt BFG power supply to see if it make a diffrence.Never had a ATI card die on me I usually throw or give them away out of frustration because of the TERRIBLE drivers ATI developes.

Awesome card
Pros: 1.Quality (Asus does make a really good products) 2.Unbelievable overclocking ability.Since it comes with standart core clock 850Mhz but coolers and Asus special tweak programs can overclock it to almost 1000 mhz.THAT`S insane. 3.Same thing with memory you can overclock really high.
Cons: 1.Be sure that u have a nice power supply, cause that thing does need a lot of energy.I got 2 of EAH4890 and i have 1000watt power supply 2.I have NZXT Panzerbox case so i have enough room to install 2 of them.Be sure that your case has enough space to install them.
Other Thoughts: If you overclock the card, fans will work on the highest speed so they will make a lot of noise.

Pros: Twin fans seem to keep the card cool without too much noise. Great software like ASUS Gamer OSD which lets you take screen shots and and movies with ease and ASUS SmartDoctor makes getting a stable overclock quick and easy. Packed in a very nice looking box with all the cables most people will need. The card just flat looks cool.
Cons: I must have gotten a bad card or some thing because with the card installed my computer will crash at POST screen unless I set my MOBO BIOS to fail-safe setting which means that my Q6600 which is 2.4Ghz at stock is now running at 2.13Ghz and if I try to raise that to say 2.20Ghz it will crash every single time. If I put my old card back in I everything works great. I've tried updating my MOBO BIOS, lastest drivers from ATI and the ones it came with, different RAM nothing works. My frame rates are only 70% better then my MSI 4670 that this card replaced but that might be because I cannot get my 3.2Ghz CPU overclock back.
Other Thoughts: I was hoping to get a good card but just wasn't to be now I'll have to mess with shipping back and by the time the smoke clears I'll probably spend just as much as it would have cost to just go ahead and get a 5850 which I am not very happy about.

Defect
Pros: Cheap
Cons: Low performance than a normal 4890 Score 8000+ in performance level test in 3dmark vantage, while normal 4890 will reach 10000+ Have tried several versions of drivers, it is the same.
Other Thoughts: Other cards worked normal on my mainboard.

Great card!
Pros: I was having trouble getting Civilization 4:Beyond the Sword to run with my Nvidia cards. I tried an 8600 GT and upgraded to a 9800GTX+ and still got random crashes, CTD's and BSOD's. I desperation I decided to give a Radeon a try, and what a difference! No more crashes, no more BSOD's and no more CTD's. Add in that it is easily overclocked and you have one great card. BTW, I am using the Top version of this card, with a 900m core clock and 4000 mem clock, which I have OC'd to 950 and 4160 and it is as stable as anything.
Cons: none, no way. ATI has made a new convert.

ASUS 4890 GPU
Pros: Runs great! OC'ing ability is also a + for this GPU
Cons: Wishing it had native HDMI connection :( o well came with a connector piece
Other Thoughts: Make this bad boy w/ a native HDMI connection & maybe a glossy black instead of the flat black i'd buy 2 more :) Great product for the price would not have gone another way! Also came with a rebate but man I hate the rebate process at least ASUS' came with the option to spend 2 dollars for 5-7 day delivery instead of 8-10 weeks

Pros: every game! 1920x1200! everything MAXED! NO ISSUES! Crysis 30 to 50fps everything other game is , Well this card is over kill for everygame out there I have them all!

Absolutely perfect card.
Pros: This card is what dreams are made of. Easily overclockable to 980MHz, runs around 50-60 degrees with autocool, and I can't hear the fans over my case fans, which are quiet to start with. In hardcore gaming, never gets above 65C. This card is the reason Nvidia just can't compete at this price range, their gpu coolers are vastly inferior and you don't get near the price/performance. When you take a $200 card like this and beat GTXs that go for $350, there's no thinking required. Plus, got it open box, so saved another forty bucks =) I love newegg and Asus.
Cons: I racked my brain for a bit, and the matte finish could be glossy. That's honestly the only thing I can think of.
Other Thoughts: Phenom II 940 @3.5GHz | Gigabyte GA-MA790X-DS4 ASUS EAH 4890 @980MHz | Broadway Com Corp 939PL OCZ 2x2GB 1066 DDR2 | COOLMAX 750W PSU 3DMark06 score: 17487

Pros: Love ASUS, I thought this was the one to buy. I have 10 years with ASUS products and never nothing like this.
Cons: It does not fit in ASUS Crosshair Formula111 AM3 board in Crossfire. The heat sink retention spring interfers with the FX sound card that comes with the motherboard. it will eventually put a hole in the FX case and whatever else shorts out. YOu can force it in, but it bends the FX sound card badly.
Other Thoughts: Not typical ASUS work given I used a ASUS Crossfire motherboard and two ASUS EAH4890 video cards. I will try another video board. I also had no video, only lights and fans. Did not take time to sort it out due to interference issue.

Just Awesome!
Pros: Absolutely incredible card. Very quiet, even with 4 x 120mm fans running in the case. It is barely audible, but I haven't cranked up the speed beyond its default run mode. Running it at the full resolution of my monitor (1920 x 1080) and most games are running well over 120 fps at their maximum settings.
Cons: User manual is sub-par and doesn't really cover this particular card (more of a "one manual fits all" distribution). I only mention this since I wasn't used to dealing with video cards that required 2 power inputs and the manual simply didn't cover this. The card has both 2x3 and 2x4 power connectors, but it's expected based on its size (about 5lbs and the width of a typical motherboard). Fortunately, you can't really go wrong with the power since the 2x4 connector intended for the motherboard wont fit (if your PSU cables aren't labeled and you're not familiar with the color coding).
Other Thoughts: Runs about 50-57C during peak game play, but the ambient temperature of the room where its located is around 27C (kinda warm). Could probably reduce this with restructuring my airflow.
I'll be getting a second for Crossfire as soon as the price comes down a little bit. But one is =perfectly= acceptable for my use.

great card
Pros: This card maxes out every game I own so far. It even runs Crysis @ 1680x1050 on the highest settings 0AA at around 25-35 fps. I was gonna overclock it to 1GHz but now I don't even think I need to cause its running so well.
Cons: the PCB is bent a little but it still works...
Other Thoughts: When I got the card it was running kinda hot so I cranked the fan speed up like 20% more and its running much cooler.

ASUS EAH4890/HTDI/1GD5 Radeon HD 4890 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card - Retail
Pros: 1Gig ddr5 800 shader models its Asus
Newegg Customer Service is GREAT ! ! !
Cons: big card but thats to be expected even at 5 pounds
At idle it runs at 50c
I was unsatisified with the preformance
Other Thoughts: Yes even Asus has a lemon every now and then
not only did I do a clean install and use the asus drivers
I did driver sweeper and reinstalled catalyst and drivers through Ati's website 8-27 fps Age of conan 8 if you turned in any direction fallout 3 wouldnt play oblivion was 30-44 fps Everquest-2 was 1-30fps random fps drop
My Radeon hd 3870 runs better!

Great Card
Pros: I have had this card for a week now and it is preforming like a champ. Overclocking feature is very good and easily cranked it to 910 Gpu clock and 980 memory clock. So in another week or so i will be ordering my second card if Newegg can keep them in stock. Running dual monitors 1900x1200 samsung t260hd playing games on high settings is no problem for this card expect for crysis still bottoms out
Cons: If you put fan at 100% sound is very loud, but card usually stays 33-40% so you never hear it. Other then that nothing
Other Thoughts: I mostly play Supreme commander FA ,so do i need another 4890 (NO) but do i want another (Hell YES). Nice job ATI

Great cards
Pros: I have an air cooled rig. I like that the cards have two fans. I also like the plain design. I'm running two of these cards in CrossFire. Older games, such as Doom3 can be maxed out. Its and ATI.
Cons: Can't max out Crysis.
Other Thoughts: When playing Crysis temps are in the mid 60s. When playing older games temps are in mid 50s. This is with fans set at 65%. It does get hot in Texas.

Great video card
Pros: - Fast - Easy overclock - Looks nice
Cons: - GamerOSD program has compatibility issues with Windows 7 64-bit (works fine without it however)
Other Thoughts: You can't go wrong with this card, buy it! I don't play games much but I've played Sims 3, CS, and Street Fighter 4. All of which runs perfectly. Also, I never had a random reboot or any other issues.

Great card
Pros: Handles games like a champ, easy to install. Dual fan keeps this card very cool idle 40c full load at 60c, but if you override the fan controls and set it to 100% it keeps the card cool at 40-45c at full load. I only override the controls when I play games. renders movies beautifully. love this card, and its cheaper than the GTX280
Cons: makes a high pitch sound when I play games. can't figure out what is causing it but I read up that its normal. so far I just ignore and there hasn't been any issue
Other Thoughts: using Windows 7 and the driver support is great, didnt even need to go to the internet to get the drivers, the one that came with windows 7 is good enough. drivers for vista was not great. I was only getting 60fps when playing aion but when I switched over to windows 7 my fps shot up to 120-150 fps. I just ordered same card and can't wait to run crossfire with this.

Pros: Not to loud Fast
Cons: Seems that you can't overclock your cards when in Crossfire
Other Thoughts: I have a pair of these running in crossfire with no issues. On a Gigabyte X58 UD4P board, 6gb OCZ gold DDR3, i7 920 clock stock, and a Caviar Black 1tb I can play Crysis on max settings w/ 4x anti-aliasing and get about 50 fps average.

Great Card
Pros: upgraded from nvidia 8800gs and is an extreme improvement. the catalyst control center make overclocking extremely easy. i am currently clocked at 900 core and 1000 memory. with the fan set at 100% during gaming i really dont notice it, but i also have a window ac unit so that drowns out most of the card fan noise. temps between 40-42 idle and havent seen anything higher than 64 under full load. the two fan design is cool. black PCB on card looks good. scored 33504 on entry with 3dmark vantage. doest take up more than two slots some some of the other "two slot" cards do.
Cons: a little long. AMD Fusion for Gaming doesnt work with Windows 7 yet but thats not really a con for the card.
Other Thoughts: make sure you have room in your case. i currently have an antec 300 and i have to move one of my hard drives because it was blocking the power connectors but didnt cause a problem since i had extra 3.5 slots available

Nice Eye Candy
Pros: Way Fast. Great rendering. Quiet and runs cool. Overclocks very easily. Low enough profile to use a 12cm side case fan, unlike the Sapphire cards. Only eats 2 slots, not 2.x.
Cons: Long. Could be a problem for some users. Check your clearance. Won't O/C to the max...only 97% of max...not really a con, just not a TOP.
Other Thoughts: I paid way more in April than what these are now. At this price, buy 2...or 3.

Nice!
Pros: Awesome performance! Got two of these in Crossfire which replaced two NVidiot 9800 GX2's. These 4890's mop the floor with the GX2's. All my games are finally smooth as silk. The annoying SLI stutter is gone and I'm getting about an 80% performance increase across the board.
I'm now enjoying Crisis at 1920 x 1200 on high detail for the fist time. It's suprisingly fun when it runs smooth. :)
As for the all the other games, at 1920 x 1200, crank up the detail settings as high as they will go and get your game on!
Cons: Fan noise is noticeable, but that seems normal now-a-days so I can't dock them for it. Hopefull as die sizes shrink and the heat goes down, this jet-engine fan trend goes away.
However, nothing a little water cooling won't fix. :)
Other Thoughts: The fan ducting on these cards dump all their heat out the back of the case through the vent in the PCI slot. This is a huge improvement over the competitors design, which destroyed several other components in my case due to heat.

Pros: super fast vga handles every thing you can throw at it! great cooling love the new design with 2fans rather than one
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: run about 40 degrees C in an antec 900 case with 5 fans running on medium speed at idle

Best ATI card I ever had.
Pros: The Smartdoctor is a great tool for turning up the voltage. Keep it at 1.4 volts and you are set. I haven't had any loud fan issues, but I run a hose from my windowed air condtioner into the side fan of my PC to keep it at around 20 degrees celcius. Been doing that for 4 years and never had a problem. The "wide tent" AA option is gorgeous. I can play everything at max, but I always play vertical stnc. I mean you moniyor can only make 60 frames a second anyways.
Cons: At first I was having a lot of FPS problems and artifacts playing Crysis Warhead (everything on Enthusiast) but it turned out to be FRAPS! Not the cards fault of course.
Other Thoughts: Running ATI cat 9.6. My Overclock is at GPU 965MHz, memory 1150MHz and volts at 1.4. Wow this card is only $200 now? I don't need to buy another one yet cause this card is great on it's own. But I sure will down the road. Oh mt spcs are Gigabyte GA-MS790FXT-UD5 AMD Phenom II 720 X3 Corsair 750 watt PSU 8GB of OCZ Special Ops DDR3. Seriously you can build a new rig for $600 yourself. One last thing. I have always been an ATI fanboy and have got the shaft a few times. But this time I think they got it together. Asus too. Buy this card. Trust me.

Performed as advertised
Pros: Installed smoothly with no fuss and no driver issues. Good cooling solution with heat venting outside case. Quiet at 40% fan speed, set it any higher and you will definately hear it.
Cons: It is BIG so be aware. It looks to be 1 and a half inch longer than my previous Asus HD 3870's. The price dropped thirty dollars a day after my purchase. Some games showed no improvents. Might be CPU limitation but rather think unlikely (Q6600 @ 3.4ghz)
Other Thoughts: It can play Crysis at DX9 "enthusiast" mode smoothly where as my crossfire'd HD 3870 could not. Some games the upgrade made no impact compared to my previous graphics set up. Currently have GPU at 950 and memory at 1125 at 1.31V, that is without fine tuning for higher O/C results. Looks to me that you are buying a slightly faster VGA than 2X HD 3870 but with more memory availability for the newer games.

Impressed with ATI
Pros: This is my first ATI card in awhile and boy am I impressed! I wanted the 4890, but didn't know which brand to pick. I decided on the ASUS, because I love their motherboards and figured they would make this well. Seems I was right. This thing runs every game I own in max settings including AA and AF at 1600x1200. Crossfire was fairly simple to setup and works like a charm.
Cons: Not as good of a deal as the 4870 when it comes to price/performance, but my friend has 2 4870s crossfired and his temperatures are about 10 degrees higher than mine when running the same game.
Other Thoughts: My System:

I Wish...
Pros: None*: Card was DOA. I like ASUSTek's general reliability and robust builds, but not this time.
*NewEgg's usual first-class reliability handled the RMA without fuss.
Cons: DOA - would not run, period, on DFI LP-X48-TR2, in any slot.
Other Thoughts: I wish...I could provide a review, but my card was DOA, and NewEgg is out-of-stock. The card certainly has potential, but only if it would work.
Now I have to consider risking another when it becomes available, or looking at nVidia 275/280/285s...I'm out-of-town shortly for a couple of weeks, so I'll have time to contemplate.

Good HD
Pros: Good performance at a good price.
Cons: None that I can see.
Other Thoughts: Partition Magic recognized and sorted the drive out without a problem. Copied 545GB worth of data in about an hour and a half. I picked this drive up as a replacement for my Seagate 1.5TB drive. I suspect the 1.5TB is corrupting data, so I ran Spinrite and sure enough, the drive was leaning very VERY heavily on the error correction buffer. Dont trust a drive that uses the safety net as a hammock! Once this WD is properly burned in, I will park the Seagate 1.5TB as a redundant backup drive.

Good so far...
Pros: Wicked fast. Great price/performance ratio. Should hold you over till the 5000 series comes out.
Cons: Catalyst 9.5 shows the card as "Radeon HD 4800 Series". The 4870x2 always showed up as 4870x2.
Other Thoughts: I cranked Team Fortress 2 up to 16X Aniso and 8X AA and all in game settings on High or Very High. The 4890 cranked out a solid and consistent 200fps @ 1280x1084. I think my 4870x2 averaged about 150fps. Could have been a bug in the Catalyst software or the card itself, but I never really got the performance I had hoped from the 4870x2. I am really happy with this card and will pick up another one at the end of June.

Reviewed in Crossfire
Pros: ~Beautiful card, looks great in your system. ~At stock speeds it will run any game maxed out. ~Overclocked to 1000 core and 1100 memory with 1.379v. 1.4 for total stability. ~Crossfire yields nearly 90% gains in high res gaming, some synthetic benchies 100%!! ~Price ~Stock cards idle at 40-41 and load to 50-54
Cons: ~Two in crossfire could be too loud during gaming for some. But even two under normal usage fans remain at 40%, normal sound levels, and you can set them for 20-25% during a movie or something like that and they inaudible. ~Smart Doctor does not retain voltage and clock settings after windows reloads. Easy to slide them over though.
Other Thoughts: FPS will not be an issue, these cards max out each games max_fps settings. One card will keep you going through as well, albeit lower framerates, whos complaining about half of 270fps?? Smart Doctor really does a great job controlling theses cards for gaming, movie viewing it's easy.
I bet a few other brands are just as good, but I'm vouching for these known excellent overclockers, ASUS being a grade A manufacturer of computer hardware and Newegg being the obvious choice for all of my computer and coffee making needs.

First card died, new one much better
Pros: Second card runs much better! Can undervolt like a champ! 875Core/1150mem on only 1.2V! Voltage tweak will not go any lower! Nice and cool. My 24/7 setting. 950core/1150mem on 1.325V. Could probably do 1GHz with a bit more voltae tweaking, but I don't like to push an already hot card like that for a few more Hz.
Newest smartdoctor works extremely well in Windows 7. Better than the original software worked on XP.
Everything works perfect with stock ATi Catalyst 9.4 in Windows 7.
Packaging is nice, but who cares once you get the card out of the box.
Cons: The fan on the first card started making horrible grinding noises about a week into owning it. Bearings apparently went bad and the fan contacted the cage. Had to RMA it. I just hope this card lasts forever...
Software included is trash, but who in their right mind uses the software on the CD? Always download the newest stuff!
Other Thoughts: Never tried the software on the CD.
Newegg is great! Super fast turn around on the RMA! Had to take a star away due to RMA of first board (from ASUS, not Newegg). Will reply if this new one dies too!

Laughing in the Face of Crysis!
Pros: Crysis throws a right jab and 4890 dodges to his left! He comes around with a right hook and.. OH MY CRYSIS IS DOWN AFTER ONLY 10 SECONDS!!!
This card can simply handle anything on the market right now. Programmers need to come with it. At 1920x1200 this card runs very smoothly with all settings to "Very High" and 8x AA. Keep in mind the card is running at stock speeds with no overclocking!
Quieter than the Diamond 4890 I tested for a week prior.
Cons: Sticker instead of standard AMD/ATI design. Smart Doctor needed for voltage settings. EPU-6 cannot take control of power saving functions without using Smart Doctor. Smart Doctor needs Asus specialized drivers. Could never get EPU-6 to take control in any mode.
Other Thoughts: If they could get EPU-6 to work with it without all this specialty mess I'd be very happy. It's the only reason I went with Asus over the other brands. XFX has a lifetime warranty from what I understand.
Specs: • i7 920 @ stock speed • Asus P6T6 WS Revolution • Asus EAH4890 @ stock speed • Seagate Cheetah 15k rpm sas x2 raid0 • OCZ 12GB @ 1333 7-7-7-20

4890 Amazing
Pros: Amazing for overclocking! I'm sitting on a 1,000 MHZ core gpu clock and a 1115MHZ memory clock. The fan that came on this bad boy is great. Its pretty quiet in my case up till about 50%, but ingame, it never goes that high unless I make it. Stays at about 38-40C with fan on 35%. The manual Fan controls are a must. Auto fan = high temps.
Cons: None. Voltage tweaking isn't that important for me to fret over on this subject. So, I disreguard it.
Other Thoughts: Go to the ati.amd website and download the 9.4 or newer drivers ASAP. The drivers that come with the card are poop. But im repectably happy with the 9.4's.

Great reference card....terrible software.
Pros: Great price/performance and an outstanding overclocker. Kudos to ATI for putting out a top of the line card at this price point. Overclocked stable in Furmark at 940/1100 mhz with no voltage increase. I'm starting to question why i went with the ASUS version of this card though....see below.
Cons: The ENTIRE reason to pay more for this completely reference version of the 4890 is for the Voltage tweaking and overclocking capability. As of now the included software "Smartdoctor" (.....lol) is not even functioning....and by not functioning I mean I can't even get it to run.
Why ASUS decided to add in the volt modding into Smartdoctor is beyond me.....this program has been notoriously terrible for quite some time. Why couldn't Asus find a way to include the voltage into their modded version of CCC?
Their modded ASUS-CAT 9.3 drivers are terrible too....do yourself a favor and just forget the ASUS install CD and dowload 9.4 CATS straight from ATI on your install for now.
Other Thoughts: Stock cooler sounds like a HOOVER at 100% but not too terrible at 40%....as expected. I've replaced the stock cooler with a Zalman GV-1000 with great results. Card used to run at about 46C idle / 70C full load (100% fan). By using the Zalman (and AS 5) coupled with the stock backplate to cool the RAM and VRM/MOSFET i've got my temps down to 32C idle / 50C full load, and I can't even hear the Zalman over my case fans.
I've jumped through every hoop to get this card's voltage increased for some good overclocks....it's just not happening right now. I should see some great overlocks with voltage modding and my current cooling. If you don't care about the overclocking/volt modding do yourself a favor and save some money; go with another Manu's cheaper reference version of this nice card.

Fragalicious
Pros: Great graphics and an ATI overclockers dream.
Cons: The included Smart Doctor does not work with Catalyst 9.4 and appears to cause various crashes when a game video is set on High or Ultra settings.
Other Thoughts: If you have a Geforce card and nForce chipset, I highly recommend completely uninstalling both and all other nVidia driver software if you got it. Also run Driver Sweeper, this was the ONLY way I could get my card to work properly. There is very little out there in the way of forums right now since this model is so new, so don't expect a whole lot of help at this time, give a couple of months.

Pros: Works great with all my games.
Cons: The monitoring software that came with the video card slows my system down. Runs great without it.

Tweak Tech is Great 1Ghz Stable
Pros: I wanted to be one of the first to run at a core speed of 1Ghz. A success! For the first time I ran Crysis Warhead set at highest settings, 8X AA, 1920X1080 24.6" monitor with no problems for 1.5 hours. The best Memory speed I could obtain was 1125 mhzX4= 4500Mhz (DDR5 speed). The aspect that makes this product great is the ability to adjust the core voltage. For stabilty I did the following: Use only ATI's latest driver. Only the driver. Use Asus smart Doctor tweaking utility for bumbing up the core sp./memory sp./core voltage. My Core V is set for 1.40V. Set the smart doctor's fan control for smart fan and make sure this utility is minimized on the desk top as the fan control will disable if you close the utility therefore the GPU will begin to artifact if not cooled properly. This card is a beast. 43FPS Average running Farcry2 benchmark. Rig - Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P MB, Q6600 @ 3.6Ghz stable/daily use, Antec 650W PS (3 +12V rails), OCZ PC8500 8GB Mem., Vista Ultimate 64Bit.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: Look at some of the reviews on the net. Core voltage tweaking will get you to 1 Ghz core stable. No other manufacture has this technology yet.

love it
Pros: great chip....good overclocker....great price...I am happy, and I am very picky. Fan is silent at 23% at 65C for 2D desktop. i put it back to auto when I game and you can hear the fan but not annoying or weird so its about as good as it gets.
Cons: voltage tweak software (smart doctor) not working yet with windows 7 and/or ati 9.4 drivers. Even without the overvoltage it auto overclocks to just under 1ghz and just under 1.2ghz memory.. sweetness..
Other Thoughts: lets all thank ATI for bringing the High end GPU prices down to half... without them Nvidia would still be charging $500-$600 for this kind of performance. once asus updates the smart doctor software I can push the voltage a bit and run it at the new record 1ghz for a GPU... amazing job ATI.. and i have always used nvidia in the past.

Nice card.
Pros: - Fast. - Good overclocking results. - Voltage mod allows you to overclock higher than you would be able to normally. - I run games at 910/4400 MHz without having to mess with the voltage at all. - Customizable fan settings.
Cons: - The drivers are currently a little buggy. The ones that came on the CD would cause my screen to flash on and off about once in every 10 to 15 reboots and could only be fixed by rebooting. The newer ones I downloaded off ATI's website seem decent, only one random issue with them so far where an error said they were no longer responding(???). - I can't seem to hit 1GHz core without artifacts. - Can't overclock the memory very far past 4500 (1125 MHz) even with voltage mod. - Noise isn't a problem while idling but the card can get loud while gaming. I use the smart fan settings and prefer a little noise over running the card at 70C+.
Other Thoughts: Good bang for your buck.
Crysis runs well on stock speeds, but noticeably more smoothly at 910/4400 on a 1920 x 1080 resolution high settings.
With the voltage mod cranked at max you can definitely run this card stable at 980/4500, but I'd prefer not to clock that high unless I feel it's necessary.
All in all, a good card. Hope ATI can deliver some better drivers in the future. The current ones are mostly stable but I feel there's room for improvement in this particular department.
No regrets! :)

Voltage Tweaker!
Pros: You have to love Asus - including a utility to change the VOLTAGE on the video card - wicked smart! Check out the review at hardocp . com
Cons: Doesn't come with Habenero Sauce?
Other Thoughts: I bought 2 to do CrossFire on my new Asus P6T (it can handle up to 3!)
