Pros: Nice thought. Nice price.
Cons: Completely incompatible with Win 7 and Nforce 3 boards. I didn't realize this when I ordered it. I wish they would indicate this a little clearer. For example I have a Radeon X1650 AGP that works completely fine with Win 7.

Give your old AGP system a new lease on life.
Pros: The fan is not noisy at all. The Shadermodel 3.0 is very nice. I am able to run EVE online with full settings and no lag and Company of Heroes with settings on ULTRA with no issues. Alot of games i tried to play before with no avail are now able to run on medium settings. This card will extend your towers gaming life span.
Cons: It was an easy card to install, if not bulky. My main issue was that Windows XP Firewall was preventing the driver I installed from the disc to talk to the card itself and making the whole thing not work. Took me many hours and lots of forum seaching to figure that one out. Also the card comes with its own Audio drivers which it will force down your throat with a large spoon. If you uninstall the audio driver ATI will just reinstall it next time you start your computer. The ATI Audio driver gave me no sound so i had to disable it in the System Hardware config menu and reselect my other audio driver as my primary...fixed the issue.
Other Thoughts: The reason i am giving the card 3 eggs and not four is due to the technical software issues with installing the card...the card itself is great....the audio and video drivers for it can be a pain.

Unable to install Win7 64-bit
Pros: 1GB Memory, Good Speed
Cons: Unable to install on Win7 64-bit PC. Tried Gigabyte installation CD, but no Windows 7 driver and Vista 64-bit would not install. Downloaded Gigabyte Win7 driver, PC bluescreens after install and reboot. Tried ATI Win7 driver with PC again bluescreening after install and reboot,.
Other Thoughts: Pretty unhappy at the moment.

I needed it
Pros: Turned an old old old gaming rig into just an old gaming rig. Seems fairly solidy built. Fan is nice and quiet.
Able to play Bioshock and newer games better than I'd expected, pushing high settings with an AGP slot and a Pentium 4 weighing it down. Worth the $10 to me to get this card over other cards that probably would have done everything I wanted because this thing does more than I wanted.
Cons: Standard "The fan blocks a slot" qq here... but I wasn't much planning on using that slot anyhow.
The power cord position does add about 2 inches to the end of the card for me, thankfully in a deserted spot.
Other Thoughts: My computer is Blue Man Group commercials old, and I wouldn't hesitate to play many new games with the old dinosaur now. Will definitely hold me over til getting a much better whole new rig than I could afford right now, for just a pittance. Of course, go PCIe if you can.

Horrid
Pros: Cheap Price
Cons: Very Poor for being a 1 GB Video Card, I Read a review on this as it was awesome for playing Borderlands on a older system. I found that is quite the opposite, looks like straight garbage on low setting's. Turn the setting's up and it gets very skippy. Even with 3 Gigs of ram and a cpu @ 2.8GHZ. Do NOT Buy This Card
Other Thoughts: Buy Something Else

Excellent Value and Performance on XP Pro and Windows 7!
Pros: * Excellent value for $69.99 after $10 rebate from Gigabyte. * Runs VERY quiet and VERY cool with my old 300-Watt computer power supply (400-450 watt suggested). I'm not using CrossfireX configuration, nor are other PCI cards installed. * Great speed and performance right out of the box on old Intel 2.6 Ghz Pentium 4 CPU desktop PC with 1 GB RAM and Windows XP Pro OS. * Superb speed and performance also after downloading and installing updated Windows 7 drivers from Gigabyte's technical support website specifically for this product. Ensure NOT to install optional Microsoft Direct X Version 9 software because Windows 7 has built-in Direct X 10. * Three separate HDMI, DVI-I and D-Sub (15-pin) monitor connectors. * Newegg shipped order promptly and packed brand-new Gigabyte product box carefully. Gigabyte also packs board carefully with software drivers on CD/DVD and carefully-written paperback product manual.
Cons: * To keep costs low, no connector cables are supplied by Gigabyte in box. * On rear of graphics card, HDMI connector was a bit too close to edge of my computer's back panel; use an HDMI cable with a low-profile HDMI connector or be prepared to notch a bit out of the rear of your chassis! * Since I've owned this board less than 30 days, it must still be tested and burned-in more thoroughly.
Other Thoughts: Really very satisfied with this product and recommend it whole-heartedly for its ease of installation (plug and play), terrific value at low cost, very low noise, great efficiency, excellent performance right out of the box. Good Windows XP Pro, Vista and Windows 7 compatibility, good online technical support website and well-engineered design and packaging.

No muss, no fuss
Pros: versatile AGP card with VGA, DVI, *and* HDMI; easy install; no driver issues experienced
Cons: power connector Y-cable (splitter) not included;
Other Thoughts: I was looking for a card to upgrade my legacy system (WinXP SP3 on Asus A8V-Deluxe mobo) for use with a 1920 x 1080 LCD monitor. This card fit the bill perfectly. Easy install: uninstalled old video drivers, powered off, swapped new video card for old, powered on, canceled WinXP auto-install, ran included CD to install drivers, restarted, and all was good to go.

Saved my old editing pc.
Pros: AGP with HDMI with AUDIO.
Cons: hdmi audio driver took me a while to find but still had it up and running in about an hour.
Other Thoughts: built this pc in 2004 for editing on premiere pro and avid xpress. was about to chuck it until this card turned it into my new HTPC.

Great Upgrade
Pros: - Great performance in games that I could not run very well with my previous card (ti4200). - Very quiet. Cannot hear the fan - Works great with my 350W (26A on 12v rail) PSU - Installation was a breeze using the drivers on the CD.
Cons: - No ATI Overdrive support? It would be nice to be able to overclock, check fan speeds, and monitor gpu temperatures. - Driver installation can be a pain if you choose not to use the drivers included on the CD.
Other Thoughts: I'm running this card with an old nforce2 motherboard paired with an Athlon XP 3000+. I was hoping to limit the slow performance during intense battles in Team Fortress 2, but this card just can't fix that. It's my cpu that is bogging that game down; not the card's fault. If you're lucky enough to have a dual core processor on an AGP platform, this would be a great upgrade.

It Works!
Pros: Easy to install. Works beautifully.
Cons: Intimidating for an average person to install. Setup program didn't let me know when it was finished.
Other Thoughts: My tech knowledge is limited to basically plugging things in and keeping my fingers crossed that everything will work. I followed the advice in the reviews and now have a new video card installed! I managed to delete all my old drivers, install this card, and loaded up the drivers that came on the CD. After a reboot - games that never played before on my old Radeon 9200 were able to run in optimal graphics mode. Everything looks great!

Pros: Available in AGP 8x
Cons: fell a bit short of expectations when running benchmarks. this however should not have surprised me given that it is AGP, not PCI express

Locks up when using full screen
Pros: It works OK when viewing if screen is in the small size.
Cons: Locks up when trying to use full size screen. I have followed all of the advice given by the Gigabyte techs. Nothing makes it work as it should. Money wasted.
Other Thoughts: This replaced an ATI All-In-Wonder that died. The All-In-Wonder was flawess. I'm going to donate this one to the local community college.

Rebate Honored
Pros: Still works.
Cons: No audio via HDMI.
Other Thoughts: This is an update to my previous review; this review is regarding Gigabyte Mail-In-Rebates. I wanted to note that I have received my rebate from Gigabyte for this item. I got this item and filled out rebate forms around Mid-Aug 2009 and received rebate around Mid-Dec 2009. I am writing this review because I have read alot of people having issues with MIRs, and I think people just have to be meticulous when filling the forms out.

Some problems with video playback
Pros: Fast card. Quiet. Very good analog signal quality.
Cons: Driver issues (XP). Bulky. Issues with video playback.
Other Thoughts: This is an update to my earlier review. I wanted to add that I've had problems with the hardware-accelerated video features. I use Cyberlink's PowerDVD for video playback. My old ATI x1300 Pro worked flawlessly.
Now, when I play a widescreen DVD in full screen mode, this annoying border sometimes pops in and the image shrinks and gets distorted.
Also, when I set deinterlacing mode to use "bitstream analysis", the image brightness flickers (and I have all image adjustments set to default). I have to force it to "always deinterlace" to get it not to do that. Otherwise, deinterlacing quality does seem to have improved over my x1300 Pro.
I think these are driver problems (specifically, AVIVO problems with that GPU). I can't imagine they're specific to this card. I'm using the v9.12 AGP hotfix drivers.

Good upgrade for AGP systems
Pros: As much graphics horsepower as your old AGP rig can handle. Big speedup from my old ATI X1350.
Runs quietly.
Clean analog signal @ 1920x1200x85 Hz.
Cons: Tricky to use the XP drivers downloaded from ATI.
Bulky fan/heatsink requires at least one extra slot, but I gave it 2 spaces before the next card.
Other Thoughts: When I install a new piece of hardware, I usually don't even bother with the included CD - I go straight to the MFG's website and download the latest.
For the XP drivers, at least, what you need to know is that you have to find the AGP hotfix, which is listed with an incorrect note saying that it only applies to the HD 2600 and some other old AGP card. If you read the release notes, it does say it works with the 4000 series, as well.
Anyway, once I found and installed the AGP hotfix driver release, it reported a warning which was that the driver wasn't signed. This seems to have caused the install to fail. What I then did was to open the device manager and select "upgrade driver" on the devices flagged as having a problem. I told it to find a driver from the temporary location where the ATI installer unpacked. Then, I selected the ATI 4600 Series driver, clicked past the warning about the unqualified driver, rebooted, and it worked perfectly.

Great AGP card
Pros: Excellent performance Runs "newer" games flawlessly Inexpensive 1GB DDR HMDI support AGP support for older systems
Cons: Special drivers are created specifically for these AGP series of Radeon; as such driver updates take longer to appear than standard drivers _and_ driver issues occur on daily basis.
Other Thoughts: Driver support for these AGP Radeon series is lacking at best. with Win 7, the Aero UI crashes the display drivers a few times a day. Windows recovers from the error and restarts the crashed ATI driver, but the screen flickers for a moment and ocasionally creates a BSOD. (yeah, and I thought the days of BSOD were behind us, dead with win 98se) ATI is working on updated WHQL certified drivers for the AGP Radeon series, but only a non-WHQL version is currently availible, and it is that one that crashes so frequently. Now, it is worth noting that these issues only occur while in the Aero UI, when in actual games no such errors occur and video performance is excellent.

Good card for an old system
Pros: Easy install on Windows 7, takes up less room than my old ATI 1950, has HDMI, VGA, and Digital outputs. Now I can play Resident Evil 5 (my old card couldn't).
Cons: None so far, it works great.
Other Thoughts: I had read about others having trouble with the drivers and sound so I went to ATI's site while I was waiting for the card and downloaded the latest drivers ONLY (version 9.12, Dec'09), NOT the full suite. I uninstalled my old card in device manager, shut down and swapped cards, then installed the new drivers after rebooting. No problems with sound, but I did disable the new device showing in the Sound, Video, etc. catagory in device manager just to be safe. I loaded up Resident Evil 5 via Steam and I'm getting around 30fps, even with my old 3.2Ghz P4.

NOT for 4X
Pros: New Egg is absolutely the best. I was concerned that this AGP 8X card would not work in my 4X slot even after contacting Gigabyte and they saying "it should." Knowing how good the customer service is with NewEgg, I went ahead and ordered it. AND NO it would not get the splash screen, and I could do NOTHING to coax it beyond this point. So the RMA went flawlessly, and I went ahead and ordered my next victim.
Cons: Could not get this to work with my Abit KX7-333R motherboard on a AGP 4X slot, Even though Gigabyte said "It Should"
Other Thoughts: The five star rating was ONLY for newegg. As far as I'm concerned, Giggleabite dropped the ball on this one. This is not to say I will not buy their product again, but they will NOT be the first manufacturer I look to, after all, if they don't know what they sell, where do we stand.

So much for plugging it in
Pros: The card is beautiful. It runs and works great.
Cons: The power connection configuration is not correct as shown in the pictures. The card came with a four pin power connector that is configured to be plugged in from the top of the card, rather than the six pin plugging in from the rear of the card as shown. I couldn't plug it in and close up the media center computer. If your limited on head space for your card, this is not for you.

Good Stuff
Pros: Epic for a AGP card runs vista like baby oil on butter! The card i had before was a 2600 pro and the different's between the two cards are 30 more FPS in all my games i play. On WOW i get 45fps max res and max settings *and in indoors i get 75-100fps non-Over clocked XD*
Cons: i had a few problems with Windows Xp Sp3 but i got it fixed *took 3 days* *note when you first install the CCC, if it works then leave it. Missing with the drivers makes problems like *THIS VIDEO CARD IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH YOUR DRIVES*
Other Thoughts: I thought this card would be abit smaller but it takes up two slots *its sets so close to my sound card that i cant hear the fan through my headphones

Different than Pictured
Pros: See Other
Cons: See Other
Other Thoughts: I haven't got this up and running yet, this review is regarding the physical layout of the card. You'll notice in the pictures that the additional power required shows a 2x3 port with side entry. The card I received has a molex connector, which is good because it's a standard connector that is on every power supply, but it's bad because it's inserted from the top. That adds over an inch to the height of the card. As a result, the height needed for this card exceeds any other card I've used, and it will not fit in my existing case. Unfortunately, I can't comment on the performance of the card because I have to swap cases to even use it. Hopefully this prevents the next person from the same troubles. Also, it does not come with the DVI/VGA adapter.

Great card for older AGP system
Pros: Benchmarked over 5 times faster than my old card. Easy install if you read the advice in reviews. Runs cool and fast. Brought WOW back to life on an old machine. Smooth high settings performance in game.
Cons: Did not come with D-sub adapter pictured ..
Other Thoughts: For the price you just can’t ask for more from outdated technology. Went from laggy 10fps play in Wow on low settings too smooth 45+ fps high settings. Couldn’t quite handle ultra but if my board supported more than 2gb of ram I think it would. I followed the advice of cleaning old drivers and cabs. Installed and bam up and running first try. The fan is quiet and the unit runs cool. I was kind of upset that the D-sub adapter pictured is not actually included, or it was missing from my shipment but this was a small thing really. Also the power plug is a standard 12v 4 pin not the 6 pictured just FYI. Fast on time delivery from new egg as usual.

no brainer
Pros: this card is a monster in my aging AGP P4 system. I have 2 gigs of mem and a pearl 365d board. chip is intel 2.6. OPened box looked at card, nicely made and solid. removed my old ATI 1650 drivers, turned off comp. and removed card. installed new one , turned on found new hardware and then install new drivers from ATI disk that came with card. reselected my blaster sound and disable the hdmi sound...thats it, simple no problem install.... cards is a beast and FAST. my games are an net surfing are blazing..I dare say many duel cores are not as fast..Nothing but praise from me.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: 2 day ship by newegg the only place to buy, thank you newegg!!!!. the price was excellent for this card!

Great Card, once you get the drivers
Pros: The performance from this card is about what you'd expect, it's alot better than my x850. But, I know it's being held back by my 5 year old hardware. That being said, it's playing Borderlands quite nicely. It's astonishing to me that I can still play modern games on a system that mostly dates from 2004/05. (To be precise, it's an athlon XP 3200 on an nforce2 chipset running XP.
Cons: The massive heatsink and fan make it really difficult to take the card out, at least on my motherboard...I had to take the card out twice because of driver problems. Speaking of that, getting the drivers installed in a major pain in the neck. The drivers on the CD didn't work for me, and they installed "Microsoft UAA bus driver for high definition audio" this little device rendered XP unable to boot normally and had to be disabled in safe mode. Eventually I got the official ATI (9.12 AGP hotfix) drivers to work. But even that was a pain, because they didn't install automatically. I had to point the found new hardware wizard to the C:\ATI\Support\... directory.
Other Thoughts: Be prepared for a few hours messing with drivers once you decide to do the installation. But, once that's done you can sit back and enjoy the higher framerates/games you couldn't play before.

Good card for an upgade to an old system. Previous issues from other review with drivers are correct.
Pros: Fast card for AGP, great upgrade for an old machine. Brought WoW and CoD back to life.
Noticing some frame lag at desktop and normal applications but smooth delivery on games which is all I really care about.
Drivers aren't difficult to install if you are a somewhat tech savvy person. For the regular user, it is a pain in the you know what.
Cons: Driver install a hassle for non-techies. Not the performance I would expect from a 1gb vid card, but hey it's AGP for an old system.
Other Thoughts: ONLY USE DRIVERS FROM CD or Gigabyte.com. Catalyst drivers from ATI site will not install. All it will install is the product registration, not the drivers.
ALSO, make sure to uninstall old drivers, reboot into safe mode and use Drivercleaner app and Cab cleaner to remove all other display drivers prior to installing card or drivers. This is key to a smooth install. Download the free version.
Disable the audio drivers that the review below mine suggests and it will work great. If you need the audio drivers... Well... contact customer service because I haven't found a solution yet. With those audio drivers enabled, both WoW and CoD crashed within minutes because of audio bugs.

Doubled AGP benchmark
Pros: Works Great, after driver fix below. Old card was Radeon 9800 Pro, 128 meg memory, which benchmarked with 3DMark03 at 7469 marks. New Gigabyte 4650 on same PC made 13896 marks. Almost double. Version 2 of card, which I got, has 4 pin power connect, not 6 pin.
Cons: Driver installation was a real pain. Use the Gigabyte driver CD, AFTER removing old ATI drivers completely. But 2 of the new audio drivers caused problems, and kept CPU cycles up at 70%. Trick is to disable these 2 drivers, but not delete them, then things work great. Disable the "Microsoft UAA Bus Driver for High Def Audio", and the "AMD/ATI HDMI Audio Driver". Use Device Manager in Control Panel. Right click on driver to disable. I do not use the Gigabyte 4650 HDMI port, so this worked for me. Note this was on a Win XP SP3 system. Fix the drivers and you have a great card!
Other Thoughts: Driver install issues almost cost Gigabyte an egg. But I'm happy with my new benchmark. Motherboard is MSI K8N Neo2. Athlon 64 4000+ CPU.

Good AGP card
Pros: Works fine. Great upgrade for an older system!
Cons: As other reviewer said, the HDMI port is tight and the cable boot needed to be cut down for it to fit. Card takes up the upper PCI slot on my Intel board so I had to lose my firewire card (no big deal).
Other Thoughts: Had trouble downloading latest driver from ATI, so stayed with the driver that was on the disc. New Egg specs mentioned a 6 pin power connection, and the card did not come with the shown adapter. No matter, my PS has a 6 pin connecter, but didn't need it! Power to the card is supplied by a 4 pin molex connection.

Looks great, works in Win7 with extra effort.
Pros: Recent graphics hardware in an AGP format. Nice upgrade from my GForceFX 5900XT. I can really tell the difference with the shadow details in WoW. The Game looks much better. Lower power requirement than the 3850 series so I did not have to upgrade my 450W PSU. Newer chip design runs cooler than the 5900XT did. Fan is very quiet Heatsink is very robust and covers much of the board.
Cons: Driver install in Windows 7 is not plug & play. After installing either the driver on the CD or the latest from ATI Windows 7 would still not recognize the hardware correctly. To get it working you have to manually update the driver from the Hardware Manager. Point it to the .inf located in the files that the ATI driver package extracted to your hard drive. Mine was located in the default extract path: "C:\ATI\Support\9-10_vista32_win7_32_dd_ccc_wdm_enu\Driver\Packages\Drivers\Display\W7_INF" You will then have to choose the device from the list. There are multiple entries of available drivers for this card. I used the first one in the list for the HD4650.
Other Thoughts: I would recommend using the drivers from ATI's download site. They are several months ahead of Gigabyte's drivers for Win7.

Great card for AGP systems!
Pros: Nice looking video card for AGP standards. I have Win XP pro and loaded with no problems. Recommend using the drivers on the CD and do not go to ATI website for drivers. I previously had a 512mb card that I use for mainly for driving games, but I do like to play Rainbow Six Vegas once and a while and that card could not handle medium settings. This ATI card had no problems with a mix of high and medium settings, even with Crysis! I only have P4 3.0ghz system running 2megs of ram. Very happy with the card and have extended my AGP motherboard for at least one more year. Also running 22 inch Viewsonic 1080p monitor and that hasn't looked any better.
Cons: If you are using the HDMI port it is too close to the edge of the card and I had to file the rubber boot to my HDMI cable in order for it to seat properly. I got it to work so that is why I have kept the rating at 5 eggs. If it didn't work I would have given it a 4. Other than that no gripes so far.
Other Thoughts: If you are looking to extend life in your AGP system and want to play somewhat recent games I would highly recommend this video card. I use Windows XP, judging by other posters with more recent operating systems there may be issues. Unfortunately this will be my last AGP card before moving to PCI E express.

Great Card
Pros: Beautiful Card!! I received the card in 2 business days. Looks amazing on the screen.
Cons: None so far.
Other Thoughts: I have Dell Dimension 4550 that I wanted to play games on. I bought this card thinking that a 250w power supply would be no where near enough, but I plugged it in anyways and it works. I still ordered a new 500w power supply so I dont stress what I currently have, but for now 250 watts is running the card with MINIMAL glitches that would normally be the result of having to little power.

Great Card, but only for Windows
Pros: This card is pure power, and great for older machines. HDMI plug for HDTV
DVI and VGA
Cons: Takes not ONLY the power from the AGP slot, but two more connectors to power the fan and the plug. So your PSU needs to have power.
Not very Linux or Ubuntu friendly.. ATi is lacking in that part.
I also not go DVI to VGA adapter included, so be aware. I just used the one from my old nVidia card.
Other Thoughts: On World of Warcraft, I recommend not running it on Ultra settings.
Be sure to get the latest drivers

good stuff
Pros: really simple install. disk that came with it was great. i got scared when i deleted my nvidia drivers and the screen went blank but i restarted my computer and it booted up perfectly. i can play wow on max setting but if shadowing and distance is all the way up its slightly choppy. may just be my computer. i can also have 2 wow windows open on screen at the same time no problem on near max settings.
Cons: with AGP the software didn't come with the over clocking tool. not a biggie.

Pros: This card is not for the weak...
Definately made my Biostar K8M800 am2 that I bought from newegg 2 years ago scream passed some pci express systems I have built since. Pushes a 5.0 in vista rating, and 4.9 in 7... Not too bad for an aging agp system...
Cons: the drivers are tricky, just gotta trick them back...
The audio card takes default so I had no sound upon first install...
Windows 7 didn't take drivers easily
Other Thoughts: If you have an aging agp, this is worth it...
But remember that with older tech being mixed with newer not all systems will work with this thing...
I didn't mind the HDMI port not working... But the rest is all good.

no joy
Pros: very quiet at all times
Cons: this card has given me nothing but headaches since I got it, usb driver installation hangs up and wont install, constantly getting hard crashes when gaming especially in second life, gigabyte's customer service is worthless, have had an email in to their techs for about 2 weeks now and it hasn't even been opened!

The end of the line for AGP
Pros: * Installed fine into my Athlon XP 3200+ * HDMI HDCP Compliant * Pretty darn quick 3D card for this system
Cons: * Unable to transmit audio over HDMI since my motherboard is unable to allocate 2 interrupts to the AGP port. (Big con for me since purpose was to go in my Media Center PC) * Not the fastest AGP card out there, but close. * Could only utilize the drivers that came with the card. Generic ATI drivers downloaded would not install. * Blocks a PCI slot * Fan does not vent out of case
Other Thoughts: -2 eggs due to HDMI audio issue that was not clearly advertised Also note: ATI AGP cards DO NOT WORK with nForce 2 chipsets and Vista. Microsoft has disabled AGP capabilities in Vista due to issues they have discovered with nForce 2, and the ATI cards can not handle this and revert to VGA level capabilities. After much research, there is no fix other than to revert to a single core CPU. nVidia based cards continue to work in this situation, but at a reduced bandwidth through the AGP bus.

works perfect so far!
Pros: got this to replace the card that died in my older pc. this card bumped my FPS on ALL games up by a ton! i am really happy with this card. one thing that i am majorly impressed with, is 15fps on second life (on ultra), where my old card only gave me about 4 or 5 if i'm lucky. world of warcraft FPS also though the roof, though i can't remember the number off the top of my head.
Cons: when you go though the complete installation of the drivers for this thing, it takes over your sound card and deletes your old soundcard drivers! make sure to go into bios and set your sound card to onboard if you don't have an hd monitor with speakers otherwise you'll spend hours trying to figure out why you don't have sound like i did.

Works Great for HDMI and Gaming
Pros: Works great with Games.
So I clean swipe my old graphic drivers, installed the card and driver from the cd that came with it. Restarted my computer, downloaded gigabytes new updated driver for it. And its all good. Plays Hell Gate, WoW and final fantasy XI at 1680x1050 with high or middle for better less lag performance.
Cons: If your computer case blocks your HDMI like mine did. I had to sadly buy another HDMI with a thinner head.
For those who have old computers with AGP, this card won't work on Intel Pentium 3 and it needs at least 400-watts. Might be able to do with 300-watts if not much is consuming power.
Other Thoughts: HDMI works good, but with vista the HDMI audio will not work. It says it on the front cover of the box.
Also if you don't have a PCI 6-pin power connector from your power supply, the card comes with a power adapter that plugs into the cards 6-pin and transfers it to two 4 pin peripheral power connectors.

Garbage Save your Money
Pros: None Does not run games. The card worked with Video Toaster, Lightwave, Speed Edit and Cubase. Crashes when playing games.
Cons: Doesn't play games. Wow is this a game video card. Unfortunatly I didn't find out until after my 30day warenty with Newegg. I am getting the shaft for this purchase.
Other Thoughts: Save your money and purchase a new system.

Decent AGP Card with HDMI
Pros: For the price, it was an upgrade from an X1600 which did not have an HDMI port (the main reason why I got this card).
Besides that, it also resolved my issue with my monitor which flickered plenty under 1600x1200 resolution when using my X1600 card. Now it doesn't flicker anymore and everything looks crisp as its supposed to.
With regards to gaming, I can play Splinter Cell (1 and 2) at max settings.
If you want a more bang for your buck type AGP card get the HD3850. Its a little more but twice as good as this card.
Cons: You have to use the drivers/software provided within the package. I tried to use the most current version available on the Gigabyte website but it did not work for me. Neither did the AMD/ATI website.
Other Thoughts: System Specifications
Samsung SyncMaster 204B monitor Asus A7N8X motherboard AMD Athlon XP 3200+ processor Gigabyte HD4650 1GB AGP graphics card Corsair DDR400 2GB (2x1GB) memory sticks Thermaltake 430W power supply 5x Seagate (40, 160, 250, 750, 750) hard drives 2x Samsung (500, 500) hard drives

Not so good.
Pros: Looked good, fan was quiet.
Cons: Didn't work or shall I say, didn't work correctly(?)
The system would start to boot, I could see a boot screen, but the screen went blank as soon as windows would start to load.
I tried all three connections and got the same results.
Not sure what the problem was, I certainly removed all previous drivers and related software.
Other Thoughts: What can I say, tried to do one last upgrade on this system which I'm currently using as a media center connected to my LCD TV. Didn't work out and now I think I'll just save up for a new system.
Thanks newegg for the quick, "no-fuss", RMA. The great customer service is your best asset.

Won't Work With ASUS A7N8X Deluxe MB
Pros: Great paper weight.
Cons: It seems to install OK but freezes on Windows XP boot screen.
Other Thoughts: Sent description of problem directly to Gigabyte Tech Support. They suggested I make sure that all video drivers are removed. No luck. I even did a fresh install of Windows XP on a new drive, BIOS disabing most all devices and the video card driver being the first and only device installed after the NVIDIA motherboard drivers. Very frustrating and disappointed. From searches on the net, I'm not the only one having this problem.

Great card
Pros: Replaced ATI all in wonder. Much happier with this card
Cons: Make sure you uninstall the old drivers first. I failed to do this and video was very slow, and choppy. After I uninstalled everything and reinstalled it worked like a charm.
Other Thoughts: I havent been able to use the HDMI because my case does not allow enough room around the HDMI port. The connector will not fit more than halfway in. Still I'm very satisfied.

AGP Magic
Pros: This took a well built P4 extreme SYS. Which was rating on Vista performance as (3.2) with a ATI 9550, and NOW reads a (5.9) WOW.
Cons: Check your pin color coding.
Other Thoughts: Last Best AGP Bar none.

Major Improvement
Pros: Major improvement for an old P4 AGP system
Cons: Only drivers from Gigabyte's site or CD work (but do work well). Newest drivers from ATI are not compatible with 4650 AGP spec. Hopefully this will change in the future.
Other Thoughts: I bought this to upgrade my wife's old P4 system. She recently got into playing WOW and only averaged 10 FPS with a GeForce FX 5500. This Gigabyte 4650 has tripled the average FPS to about 30 in the same scenes. And has breathed life into an aging old computer. The wife is happy. Money well spent.

Very Nice Card
Pros: I was worried about this cards DDR2 and slower clock speeds than some other 3850 AGP series specs. Even my old ATI Radeon X850 XT PE 256 AGP had GDDR3. However these concerns are unwarranted.
This card is performing flawlessly in every game I play. I play mostly MMOFPS and MMORPG titles such as WarRock, Combat Arms, Operation 7, Parabellum Beta, Hero Online, and a few others. In each and every instance my stable FPS has obtained a significant boost. I also bench marked it in a few other games I play like Half Life 2 and Team Fortress 2 and in both instances my stable FPS rate went up a great deal. From an average of 40-60 to 70-100 easy. The 1GB of RAM and the 4650's GPU make up for its slower clock speeds. I have to say that this card has extended the gaming life of this old rig.
Install and setup took me about 20 minutes.
Rig Specs are AMD Athlon XP 3200+, 2.5GB DDR, Windows XP Pro SP2, ASUS A7V880 MB, 500 Watt PSU.
Cons: The drivers on the CD work wonderfully, and this is an important point since they may be the only drivers you may get to work for this card at the moment, I have yet to have a single issue.
First off, BE SURE YOU COMPLETELY REMOVE YOUR OLD DRIVERS and CATALYST CONTROL CENTER BEFORE INSTALLING THE NEW ONES. This is a step I think many people take for granted.
Once your old drivers are removed, power down your PC, remove your old card and install this one, then power your PC back up. When Windows XP loads it will find the new hardware, simply cancel out these pop-ups and go directly to the included driver DC and run setup from there. Choose custom and select what components you wish to install other than the drivers and Catalyst Control Center. When it reaches the end of the driver install, you may get a "Zero Display Service Error", if you do just hit "Ok", and let the install continue. Your drives will still be installed correctly!
Other Thoughts: To be perfectly honest, any other cards much beyond this in an AGP based system would be a waste of money unless you on the rare AGP system running a high end dual core CPU. Even then you will not notice that much of an improvement based on the video card upgrade alone. Your motherboard, CPU, and the AGP slot itself will "bottleneck" the cards performance.
All that being said, I am very pleased with this cards performance so far and will be far more than enough power to hold me over until I build a new updated rig. Of all the "high-end" AGP cards on Newegg at the time of purchase (July 2009), this one seems to be the best bang for your dollar, and is perfect for what it is. The only other card that may offer a performance boost over this one would be the HIS Radeon HD 4670 1GB 128-bit DDR3 AGP available on Newegg now. Its also almost $40 more expensive and you will still have the aforementioned "bottleneck" issues. I am still very happy I picked this card!

Only enclosed drivers work
Pros: Runs cool. HDMI works fine in Windows 7. Plenty of graphics crunching power for most apps/games. Great service from Newegg, as usual!
Cons: More expensive that faster HD3850. Drivers on Gigabyte website and ATI/AMD website will not install. This is likely because it is AGP, not PCI-E. Maybe future gen drivers will work. For now, you must use the disk that comes with the card.
Other Thoughts: If you have AGP and need HDMI and/or lower power requirements for your video, get this one. Otherwise, the best AGP is HD 3850.

AGP Lives!
Pros: Great performance. Installed drivers with no problems. Runs BF2 and project reality on High settings. Plays very smooth.
Cons: GDDR2, and the 128 bit bus worried me, as my X800 had GDDR3 and a 256. Not noticeable, and outperforms my X800.
Other Thoughts: Good investment to keep an old gaming PC going for awhile.

Did not work for me!!
Pros: The specs on this card are excellent, probably the best for an AGP card. I had an Asus A8V motherboard, and a 2.4 Ghz AMD 64 chip with 2 gigs of memory.
Cons: However I could not get the software installed, took 2 days just to get it installed. Then I found it would not access the DirectX 9. In fact it crashed DirectX 9 when ever I tried to run the diagnostics in DirectX. Therefore I returned the card for a refund.

Awesome card
Pros: Awesome card... Got a 5.0 on overall vista score from a 4.4 with my radeon 1650...
Cons: The sound driver can be a pain, it takes over as primary default... I fought with it and turned out my sound card wouldn't seat, so it wasn't the video card's fault solely.
Pricey as well, you can practically buy a new low end board and chip for about 100 bucks more
Other Thoughts: This will probably be my last agp graphic card purchase, I hope to be gettin into the Phenom quad core leagues soon

GIGABYTE HD 4650 AGP
Pros: This was a temporary AGP card while my BFG 7800 card was sent back for repairs ( which has a life time guarantee! ). Using with Vista 32 bit Home Premium Used the CD for my drivers. My VISTA windows experience GRAPHICS 5.2 (AERO), GAMING GRAPHICS 5.3
Cons: It may be a single slot on the outside but it actually takes over a PCI SLOT on the inside with the fancy bolt on fan. You do loose a PCI slot which is next to the AGP slot. My BFG 7800 card does not, but it is longer! No life time warranty like BFG but you can buy a extended warranty from NEWEGG. Not all cards have this option which means this card should last a long time but NEWEGG will take your money anyway for a low price of $20 to extend your warranty.
Other Thoughts: It comes with a dual feed adapter for the 6 pin power plug. I ran Windows 7 upgrade advisor and the results: "ATI Radeon HD 4600 Series ATI Technologies Inc. Compatible This device is compatible with Windows 7."

Issues for Windows7
Pros: Performs better then 9800XT.
Cons: No driver for HDMI sound in Vista (Windows7). Catalyst control center from the Vista setup damaged 7; Video wouldn't work; Un-install utility hangs; couldn't install driver once corrupted.
Other Thoughts: Un-installing the video driver in device manager allowed windows to detect the card and install a VGA driver. I was then able to install only the vista driver and get reasonable performance for 3d games. A new driver release may fix these issues.

I was wrong
Pros: Great card
Cons: slow support response.
Other Thoughts: Install the software from the CD before installing updated drivers. Until I did this, the system was not stable at all. I originally chucked the cd, and installed the drivers from gigabyte's website. As a result, my system kept rebooting when it tried to render video. I finally ended up uninstalling the udpated drivers, and ran the cd. Everything is now working fine. Meanwhile, I still haven't gotten a response from their tech support. I feel bad for giving this card a bad rating previously, but it could have been prevented by a quick response from their support.

Not compatible with BTV
Pros: Nice card. Decent specs.
Cons: Could not get this sucker to work with Beyond TV. This is a problem because that is all I use this computer for. Everytime I tried to watch any video in BTV, the system would reboot. Not many drivers to choose from. Beware software compatibility with this card. Support for it is extremely slow to respond.
Other Thoughts: I'm wishing I didn't have to wait forever and a day for Gigabyte support to respond. I think I'm going to return the card and get another type.
I guess that's what I get for purchasing an agp card designed for pci-e.

Just like NEW
Pros: Excellent card so far. Made my 4 year old Alienware P4 3GHz system run like new with my ASUS 24in monitor at 1080. Runs EVE Online @ full graphics mode. Drivers installed no problems shipped fast arrived on time.
Cons: Only have room for one.
Other Thoughts: Never liked ATI cards. Bought this one because Nvidia doesn't make a card to compete with this that's AGP. Might need to rethink everything.

decent card
Pros: Works under xp pro. Drivers were a breeze. Really breathes life into an aging rig.
Cons: Could not get windows 7 beta to recognize or accept the updated drivers. Direct x 10 was a bust after a couple weeks of trying various attempts to get it working even with beta drivers etc. Gotta admit though that under xp pro it worked brilliantly however I bought it for direct x 10 support and as of yet cannot get it working. since others have seemingly been able to I only knocked 1 egg. Because for all intents and purposes this card really cooks in an older system.
Other Thoughts: Even though it's AGP there is still plenty of potential in the platform regardless of what others state. I highly recommend this card even though I couldn't test it under vista or get it working properly under windows 7. Other offerings from various vendors touting agp solutions are usually a dismal failure. This one worked from the first try under windows xp pro and allows you to play any game you throw at it in that environment. Perhaps windows 7 beta drivers that work will appear for this card but since the platform is dead I only recommend you get it just to increase your headroom for an older rig.

Might be Good
Pros: Good specs
Cons: I cannot get it to work in either Vista Ultimate nor Windows 7 RC.
Vista will not load drivers at all. Windows 7 allows me to manually load drivers, but will not correctly recognise the board and gives me the BSOD for any video intensive app. (like trying to play a DVD).
Does not seem to work with my Setup: MSI KN8 motherboard Athlon X2 4800+ 2 GB DDR 400 750 Watt PS

Prolong Life
Pros: Based on the small amount of reviews that this card has gotten thus far and them being all 5 egg's I gave it a try over the radeon 3650 agp, and I'm very happy with it 1360x782 res in Team Fortress 2 with details at high and on a 30 person server I still get around 30-35 fps, if I run at 1280x768 I get 55-65 fps, big jump over my other card which was a BFG tech 7800 GC which ran at 1280x768 my fps were 15-20. system spec P4 3.0 Ghz and 2 Gig 533 ram. This card has easy prolonged the life of my ssytem another year or two. Also the HDMI port is just sweet and there is support for it if you use Windows XP for the audio output of the card.
Cons: None, for a agp bus card that gives all that this does I didn't mind the 100 bucks alot cheaper then building a new system.

All good
Pros: Inexpensive card great for extending the lifespan of your AGP based rig.
DX10. 1GB gddr2. D-Sub, DVI & HDMI outputs
Cons: If your not planning on using the HDMI out, make sure the audio in the card is disabled in the device manager for Windows. Otherwise, it will conflict with your current audio device.
I can't really find any other cons for this product other than the audio thing but is a 5sec. fix...
Other Thoughts: So far the card hasn't disappointed. One of my friends is using the PCIe version. He hasn't had any problems.

Great card
Pros: HDMI port. ATI Avivo HD with video convertor. The video convertor is pretty fast & will do up to 1080p video.
Cons: GDDR2
Other Thoughts: Vista Ultimate 32 bit, AMD FX-60, 3 GB Ram. This was a nice step up from my Nivdia 6800GT. Able to use drivers on disk. I was looking for a card with HDMI port vs. a DVI to HDMI adapter and this fix my needs.

Excellent Solution for buying a New MOBO
Pros: This board has enough memory and processing power to play newer games (at 1920 refresh is 62 Htz), but still works well even with Blue ray movies. Overclock it and you have 120 hz refresh at 1920. AGP hooks in at 8x, has digital audio with HDMI. I have my LCD's @ 1024 and Panasonic 480hz plasma hooked @ 1920 to it. works perfect. By the way, if you use Vista lot of the nice functions WILL NOT WORK. but then if you have vista you should have a newer board.
Cons: nothing so far - again Audio will not work with Vista ( have to route spdf out to work this)
Other Thoughts: One of the best boards I have bough for my AGP system so far.

Surprised it works
Pros: It's AGP. It's got HDMI output. The audio works.
Cons: It's AGP?
Other Thoughts: It comes with a sticker on the box that states that the HDMI audio output doesn't work with Vista. Plugged it in and it does. Your mileage may vary, but I'm quite pleased.

Works As Expected
Pros: Just what I needed to breathe a little more life into that old machine.
Simple installation, I used the included power adapter, it works fine with my 350w PS.
I downloaded the drivers from the gigabyte website.
Cons: None so far.
Other Thoughts: New Egg raised the price of the Sapphire 3850 (w/ rebate) to match this card shortly after it came out.

Breaths New Life Into Your Games
Pros: AGP of course DVI-I and HDMI connector (has D-sub also) 1gb of DDR2 ram Drivers included with card work perfectly with my Windows XP Pro Fan is quiet
Cons: None so far...
Other Thoughts: This Radeon 4650 card is awesome for older systems using AGP video support. Gigabyte did an awesome job of getting the card and drivers right the first time out, without the hassle of incompatible drivers issues that has plagued some of the previous Radeon AGP cards.
This system running my old ATi 9800 XT had a lot of problems with newer games, and using SysMark06 graphics benchmark software gave me a score of only 1598. After installing the card I got a score of 5465 which is not bad at all considering it is a Intel P4 3.4mhz system with AGP.
I was able to run the card without problems with a 400 watt PSU with only 16amps on the 12volt rail, but felt more comfortable upgrading to a 650 watt PSU with 34A on the 12volt. Plus I now have the proper PCI Express 6-pin power connector, don't worry if you do not have the PCIe plug as it comes with a 2x4 Pin Molex to 6 Pin Connector for older power supplies (you will still need 2 free 4 Pin Molex Connectors to power this card)

Driver issue
Pros: This card can let you get a couple more years of use from the old box.
Cons: Couldn't install a driver neither from CD nor from ATI Catalyst website. CD was crashing computer (looks like CD was trying to install 32 bit version on my XP64 Pro), and ATI driver could not recognize the card. Solved by downloading driver directly from Gygabyte.
Other Thoughts: ATI Catalyst driver for Linux also cannot recognize this card (I made only one attempt so far).

I'm 1st?!
Pros: Simple plug and play. My power supply already had a 6 pin plug and didn't have to use the 6 pin to dual molex connector adapter. Hooked up DVI to my BenQ LCD and HDMI to my Toshiba. Windows defaulted to low res on boot up. Unloaded old drivers and loaded the drivers straight from the disk. A few tweaks in Catalyst software and got HDMI working with both audio and video.
Got dual display working and HDMI display makes my LCD look like an old CRT. HDMI is just amazing!!!
A few software tests; Battlefield 2 on full settings without any lag. My Serene fish screen saver was at 580 fps, now runs 680 fps.
Cons: Software took a long time to load. It appeared to be locked up a few times but was just taking its time to load. Got a few pop ups about not tested or may not be compatible with XP??
Other Thoughts: Been waiting a long time to make my last upgrade on my current platform. Choose this over the Sapphire 3850 mainly for the HDMI. I upgraded from a 9600XT.
My components that make this work; Gigabyte motherboard with core2 cpu, 2 gig ram, 600w OZ stealth power supply.
