Pros: great deal for the money

Cons: as with all graphics cards, by the time they're cheap, they're outdated

Other Thoughts: replaced my old 6600 (garbage) that my comp came with. i went from being unable to bioshock to being able to play it on full settings - which is good since that was the sole reason why i upgraded at the time.

Rating + 4 Great card for starter pc

Pros: Runs most games well. Crysis -> Medium @ 1680x1050 30-40 fps dx9 Age of Conan -> Medium@ 1680x1050, shader 3.0 about 30fps down to 10, with 2.0 i can get 30-60 fps outdoors with shadows off and max view distance. COD4 Runs 40fps @1680x1050. Haven't had any issues with this card. Just isn't running what I need it to

Cons: Limited at 256 mb, would only buy if you really need a gfx card for cheap. Otherwise, I'd suggest buying a 9800gtx for only hundred or so bucks.

Other Thoughts: Great card for anyone running any game pre 2007. or maybe that came out in 2007.

Rating + 4 MSI 8600gt

Pros: Good Value

Price has always been fairly low

Fast for what it is

cheap to sli

runs newer games unless you count Crysis

Cons: runs most newer games but need to sli for higher hd graphics. 1600x1200 and above

Not the best card if you want to run 1920x1200 resolutions

Other Thoughts: You cant beat the price since it runs everything perfectly up to 1280x1024 then you will probably sli it. Tested 100% with COD4.

Rating + 3 Good Card but No Rebate

Pros: Good dependable card. No Crashes. Not a speed demon by today's standards but it gets the job done.

Cons: Don't plan on getting the rebate. I bought this back on 3/19. They said to give 8-10 weeks from the end of the promotion to receive my check. It's been 11 weeks now and still nothing. 8-10 weeks is kind of long as it is. So I wouldn't plan on getting your $20 back. My rebate status on the website has been at "check issued" for several weeks. They haven't returned my email yet to explain why...

Pros: I play EVE and this card allows me not only the Premium graphics, but I can also run the HD graphics on it as well with no issues. I can't wait to get a second one and SLI them together.

Pros: Decent midrange card. Slightly increased factory clock speed. Good price.

Cons: 128 bit memory interface is kind of fail by today's standards

Other Thoughts: Used this in a computer I built for someone who didn't play the newest games. It might have some trouble with those, but for everything else it's just fine.

Rating + 4 Great but 8800GT better

Pros: I would say this is a great buy. Very inexpensive and great graphic output.

Cons: Limited settings on newer games like TF2 and HL2 for them to run decently. The 8800 GT would be a great replacement.

Other Thoughts: I'm going to switch over to the 8800GT. It's a better bang for your bux.

Rating + 5 Next best thing to an 8800!

Pros: I have owned this video card for over 4 months and have had no problems with it what so ever. I have installed a Zalman ZF-900 heatsink and memory heatsinks and have two of these running SLI'd. I have this overclocked using "ATI Tool" at 680/900 and am running flawlessly. The temperatures never get over 50*C. I use a 32" tv as my monitor at a 1366x768 resolution and using 3Dmark06 at defalt settings and this resolution I can get 12000 out of it. These are really great video cards, and I paid $110 each now they are less than $90. With two of these you can run Crysis with a few settings on high and still good fps. FEAR runs with everything on max, and most older games everything else on max.

Cons: They are not 8800's or 9600's. The card doesn't have standard size 3-pin fan connectors, they have the smaller ones that only the Stock cooler uses.

Other Thoughts: I custom built my computer. eVGA 680i, intel e6750 @ 3.4ghz (stock 2.66ghz), 2.5gb ocz sli pc6400 (really 4gb). The red circuit board used makes others think you have ATI card's in your system. UPGRADE the coolers! You can get much more performance out of it (if you overclock) and can improve your 3dMark score by nearly 2000 points.

Rating + 5 Great card!

Pros: Considering I went from an ATI Radeon x300SE video card to this, the performance increase is amazing! I guess by most standard this card will be considered mid range, but it's handled most games I've thrown at it incredibly well! Install was a breeze and I've never noticed any problems with my stock heating or the built in fan on the card. I've played The Witcher with highest settings with no problems, and Medieval 2 Total War + Kingdoms handles incredibly stable and flawless with settings maxed out! My pc is nothing to brab about, Dell Dimension 8400 with a Pentium 4 and 2.5GBs of RAM and XP SP2, but this card performs excellent along side it! This is great bang for your buck, especially if you need a mid level card to hold you over until the higher end cards reduce in price.

Cons: None that I've noticed. I haven't tried more graphic intense games like Crysis with this card, but I'd imagine it could perform well enough on medium and lower settings.

Other Thoughts: With the rebate, this card is a steal! Get it while it's cheap and has a free game included!

Rating + 5 great card

Pros: Runs games, perfect for a mid-range gamer. I like the included MSI Dual Core Center, makes it easy to overclock.

Cons: I can hear the fan?

Other Thoughts: This isn't an 8800GT, but for half the price you get excellent gameplay. Card does a great job running FEAR on my 22" LCD. Price to performance, this is the card to buy for a mid-range system.

Rating + 5 Good Performance for Price

Pros: Excellent price to performance ratio. Mine doesn't run hot. Noise level is on par with similar cards (don't plug it into a HTPC or anything though without dampening, obviously) Comes with automatic overclocking software to give greater control to beginners.

Cons: Included installation disk has some quirks and wasn't actually able to install the drivers for the card. Had to go to the MSI website, not a big deal. Of the included software, besides the automatic overclocking tool and GPU monitor software, the rest is pretty much junkware, don't install it.

Other Thoughts: Computer basing this on:

EVGA 650i Ultra T1, C2Q 6600 @ 2.66, AS-5 Paste, MSI 8600GT OC 256MB, 2GB Corsair XMS DDR2-800, 36GB WD Raptor, 250GB Seagate Barracuda (SATA), Philips 20x DVD+/-RW (SATA), Cooler Master eXtreme Power 500W, Case: Cooler Master Elite 330 w/ added 120mm front fan

Rating + 4 Good Over all

Pros: I would have to say this is the best Graphics card out there to run windows vista and an few other things with out having problems i am not 100% sure if this is an good or an bad thing but when i run MS Flight Sim X I hit am OverClock temp of 62 degrees with out having it Go bad so i would say it has some quality to it.

Cons: Um well it can not run my favorite game beyond 16 FPS in high settings so it has pushed me to get an card and build an system being my old one only has 300 watt PSU max

Other Thoughts: I would recommend this for some one who is building an Vista based every day computing PC over the on board 3100 that comes on most Motherboards

Rating + 5 Improved Performance

Pros: Price was just right. Improved Win Performance from 4.8 to 5.9. Regular TV looks like HD. Images are sharp and clear. Was able to increase screen resolution on Samsung Monitor from 1480x960 to 1680x1050 with no loss in quality. It even did it automatically after drivers where installed.

Cons: Bundled software was confussing. Could't figure out exactly what I had as screen documentation was poor. Installed some of it to find out when Windows rebooted it needed authorization to run. Finally uninstalled all of it. Just used the drivers.

Other Thoughts: Updated drivers manually after install. No live update. Replaced ATI 2600PRO and got a lot better image quality. Not much of a gammmer but do like to race on dirt tracks. This thing flys. I mainly record old TV shows with Win Media Center and edit with Movie Maker. My old card was freezing and the preview paine would not advance. Updated drivers and found that was the problem had to roll them back. No problems with this one yet uther than installing latest drivers for it. Still amazed at the increased performace and for less than $100.00. Gonna have to find me some more games.

Rating + 4 Solid budget card

Pros: Excellent performance for the price, MSI is a reputable company for actually mailing your Mail-In-Rebate checks, practical DirectX 10 support for now under 70 dollars, overclocking headroom for the core (100% stable overclock achieved at 654 MHz core, possibly more with 12V cable hooked up)

Cons: Major con which kept card from a 5.0 rating is the inability to control fan speed (5V cable connector can be swapped for 12V though for reduced rpm and noise) so fan is loud, memory is fairly overclocked to the max (only 23 MHz overclock for 1646MHz total was achievable with 100% stability, DX10 on an 8600 is achievable which is better than an 8500 and lower but performance is below average (while an 8300 could theoretically play a game with DX10 features, I wouldn't want to chug at 2fps)

Other Thoughts: Bottom line: MSI is a reputable company that manufactures and engineers quality products. Although the name is not as big as XFX or BFG or EVGA or their boxes as pretty, I work for a PC Repair shop and have found the failure rates on MSI components to be very low. If you are on a very tight budget and are working with a mid-range 6-series card or lower, this is a gigantic step in the right direction. If you have a high end 7-series, you'll need to jump to at least an 8800 for any considerable increase in speed. It should also be noted that while the 8600 may not perform that much better in many respects to a higher end 7-series card, the 8600 will process more details and higher quality graphics which cloud results in fps tests. Few people realize this and will blast an 8600 as a slow beast without realizing that their graphics are better than even a faster performing top of the line 7-series could ever achieve.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Every component for this build was bought from newegg. Pros: Bought as an inexpensive card for casual cadcam use. Working fine with Mastercam 2d, 3d surfacing, and 5-axis graphics. Can still play some games with it if I want.

Cons: none yet

Rating + 3 What Rebate?

Pros: Inexpensive SLI capable GPU with dual DVI outputs.

Cons: It's been 3 months now, and no rebate check. I'm running 2 of these with an SLI bridge, and constantly have problems with my dual monitor setup. In order to use both I have to disable SLI and have monitor 2 connected to GPU 2 (in SLI mode the second card is used to enhance processing in the main GPU but the output is disabled) rather than having dual monitor SLI output.

Other Thoughts: I should have spent more money on a better pair of GPU's. For the money it's an acceptable entry level dual head SLI card...if you can get it to do what you want. WHERE'S MY REBATE????

Rating + 4 Amazing value for the quality.

Pros: Let's see.... I upgraded from an x1650pro IceQ Turbo 512MB to this 8600 GT OC 256MB and went from 3450 to 5400 on 3Dmark 06! MSI is usually good at making good products. This is one of the best video cards I've used. It gets a four instead of a five because the game is LAME! JK:)
Seriously, Vista X64 gives it a 5.6 - What gives?

Cons: Let's see.... It's not a 9800 GTX x2; but, it's not half a grand, either. It doesn't take up two slots; wait, that's not a con. Running at 650/850(1700) and it's 45* gaming. I guess it could be cooler, but then it would take 2 slots.
I run Crysis at 1440x900 with all settings on low, amazing.

Other Thoughts: I leave my computer on all day sometimes, then come in and game. It's never more than 47*, usually 30* or so idle.
I also overclocked it a little, but it seems too warm.
nVidia has the other guys on water and smoke effects, but (A)A(M)T(D)I has them on overall when it comes to calc.

Rating + 5 Great card!

Pros: This card is cheap, especially for what it is capable of. I put it in my machine to replace a aging X1600 Pro. This GeForce puts my old card to absolute shame. I can play any of my games, mostly WoW, Fear, COD4 at near max resolution with no lag at all. I wish I could get another, but my mainboard doesn't support SLI

Cons: not being able to get a second and run them SLI? (No real cons, awesome card for an even better value)

Other Thoughts: I bought this card "Open Box" but there was nothing wrong with it and it came with all cables, manual, and drivers CD. So I was definately pleased. I can now play WoW on max resolution and max visual quality and 0 lag.

Rating + 5 Great card for the money!!!

Pros: Just incredible for the price. I bought this to replace my aging MSI 8600GT from May 2005. This thing blows the 6600GT out of the water. Immediately, all games ran at at LEAST 30-50 fps faster, and I had almost full settings maxed out. I'd love to get two of these babies going on SLI. BEAU-T-FUL. For $85 ($65 with rebate at time of this writing), it's a absolute steal!

Cons: That I didn't buy two :(.

Other Thoughts: Came in 2 days flat. Long live NewEgg.

Pros: Great price for the performance. Good software that makes it easy to overclock if you are into that sort of stuff. Runs quiet. Would highly recommend for the average gamer.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Unless you are building some uber gaming system for thousands this is a great video card for the money. Got mine with a rebate and a decent game which makes it almost free (if you want to buy Witcher that is). Even if you don't play the game at least look at the opening sequence.

Pros: Awesome card. Ran dual for SLI and played Crysis on High Settings with Anti Aliasing on at 2x. Sold them though for $60 apiece because I upgraded to 3x Nvidia 9800GTX's. VERY QUIET!

Cons: Really fat.

Other Thoughts: Even though it's blue colored, IT IS NOT VGA! IT IS DVI. So if your using this for a CRT Monitor IT WILL NOT WORK.

Rating + 5 Price vs Performance

Pros: - $65 is rather inexpensive(Came with free game and $20 rebate)
- Runs all of todays games at least medium settings and some high settings
- No power connector required(PCI-E slot has enough power)
- Doesn't sound like an airplane taking off when running. It's rather quiet.
-Small PSU requirements. Manual states needs at least 350 watts but I am running this great on a 300 watt psu. I dont have a ton of componets in my computer, see specs below

Cons: Would have liked a 9600 GT but price is much more and would have had to purchase a new power supply to go along with it. I will probably skip the 9000's series graphics cards and purchase the next series card in 1 year so I guess this isnt really a con :)

Other Thoughts: Duo Core 2 E6550 2.33Ghz, 2 gigs of ram, 160 gb hd, dvd-cdrw drive,

Rating + 5 Still very Haappy

Pros: Price/Performance ratio

Cons: Blocks adjacent slot with stock cooler, but what card doesn't these days? A new low-profile water block fixes that.

Other Thoughts: Been using two of these for six months now without a hitch. I spend most of my time playing WoW and I have been running it at 2048x1536@75Hz on my trusty 22" CRT. Every setting is maxxed out and I no longer have to slog through "Laggrath City". I do see some slight slowdown in 25man raids when things get busy, bit 99% of the time everything is perfect. I did have SLI turned off for a while so I could use dual monitors and then I just dropped the resolution to 1600x1200 and left everything else alone. A new PCI 6200LE card eliminated that requirement, though and I'm back to full resolution.

Pros: Good card by itself, amazing card when you overclock it. I got this baby up from 580 core, 1500 shader, and 1600 memory, all the way to a stable 720 core, 1900 shader, and 1800 memory. I even had the clock in the 800's for the core at one point, but decided i'd not risk it. This card is a must buy for the price to output ratio.

Cons: None, other than its only doing 8x, and my motherboard has no option to change that. I wish I knew how to fix that. Its unnoticeable though with my 3000mhz pci-e speed

Other Thoughts: Buy only if you dont have the extra cash to pick up a radeon 3870.

Rating + 4 Value SLI

Pros: Price: for the money spent (about $180 after rebates for both cards) I get excellent performance in SLI mode at reasonable resolutions, and AA settings

Cons: I got my cards at different times, due to my available cash flow, and one has a 1.0 bios, and one is 1.1. I had to switch the card so the master is the 1.1 no biggie, but I had a lot of crashes until then, and the MSI online update stuff is kinda a joke, and I could not find the new 1.1 bios anywhere on MSI's website...time for a phone call to their support!! (not open on weekends or after hours)
no lifetime warranty...

Other Thoughts: I will say that once I got it configured properly, I get screaming performance in a lot of games (UT3, Quake 4, Hellgate london, Ghost Recon 2)to name a few, and thats running Vista 64, XP gets slightly better performance, but no DX10(I dual boot to XP Pro for more compatibility...Vista's picky)
I hear a lot of prople say these cards are a joke compared to the 8800GT ect...well I have not actually tested one of those, but the reality is you get what you pay for.
People are NOT GONNA get mid to high end performance out of these even in SLI.
these are upper LOW END cards...ALMOST mid range
If you keep the resolutions at a livable level, and don't crank all of the AA, and txture settings through the roof in games I think this is still one of the best setups for folks on a budget...but that's what these are BUDGET cards that do almost as well as the 8600GTS at factory settings...not bad in my opinion.
I reccoment for a good entry level setup that won't break the bank!

Rating + 4 Great budget card

Pros: Bought it to go into my new budget gaming rig. Went from an AGP 6600GT to this card and it's made a world of difference. All of my older games (Far Cry, Call of Duty 2, Unreal Tournament 2004) run with every setting cranked and newer games will run just fine with settings on medium or the high end of medium.

Cons: It's a good budget card, but if you've got $50-$100 more to spend there are better cards out there. If you're expecting to run Call of Duty 4 or Crysis with all of the settings cranked, keep looking. This card will run them, but you'll have to turn things down a bit.

Other Thoughts: MSI is an amazing manufacturer. My last four video cards (including this one) have been MSIs and in all that time I've only had one failure - the fan on my 6600GT stopped and the card fried. I was within the warranty period, so they quickly replaced it with a new one and I went about my business. Given two cards of equal spec and pricing, I'll go with an MSI every time. It helps that most of the time their cards are cheaper as well :)

Pros: Overclocking is easy. Performance works well for the application I am using it for, man. Rebate of 20 bucks, made it an easy choice. The system runs 10% faster than 7800GT SLI system.

Cons: Haven't found any as of this review.

Other Thoughts: MSI NEO AMD MB; 8600GT card; 250 GB SATA 3.0; 2gb Adata DDR2 PC6400; 500 Coolmaster PSU; 20" Widescreen ACER LCD monitor.

Pros: This card gives great performance for its price! All games I've tried (including Bioshock) play extremely well and give high frame rates on high settings.

Cons: No problems or disappointments thus far.

Other Thoughts: I installed this card in a build for my brother, who was on a budget, but wanted to be able to game a little. Athlon X2 4800+, ASUS motherboard with 4GB of Mushkin DDR2 800, running 32-bit Vista Ultimate ...

Pros: runs cool (40-45 idle/ 53-60 full load), cheap.

Cons: Nothing's wrong with the product, but the GPU is a little underpowered... but since it's so cheap I really shouldn't complain.

Other Thoughts: I'd recommend spending a little more and get a 8800GT (under $200 now, a single one will beat two of these), or just wait till the 9 series come out...but if you must get one now this will do I guess.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I have 2 of these in an ASUS M2N-SLI deluxe board, 2gig of Patriot RAM, AMD AM2 5200 CPU and a 600 watt Ultra Xfinity power supply. I haven't ran 3Dmark on it yet so I don't know how it stacks up to other systems.

Pros: I must say i'm very impressed with this card so far. My last rig quit on me about a month ago, was running a 6800gt, Athlon XP 2800+, 1.5 gigs PC2700 setup. The old rig ran most of my games good enopugh for my tastes. I thought the new rig, Athlon 64 3800, 2 gigs PC6400, and this card, wouldn't be much of a step up. I was wrong, all my games run faster and cleaner with this setup, was very inexpensive and I'm very happy.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: My new Rig is a factory PC unlike my old one. I was a bit worried that I would have to purchase a power supply to get everything working to spec. I was wrong again, this card runs just fine on a factory PSU for a Compaq Presario SR5110NX. I have had absolutely no problems thus far. If your a budget gamer or have a Factory built PC with a PCIe slot I would highly recomend this card to you. Oh and shameless plug for Newegg, you guys rock. Ordered this bad boy 3 days ago, been playing WoW for a day already. Thanks Newegg.

Pros: * Price

Cons: * I don't know if I will get the MIR or not.

Other Thoughts: I got this to play the Orange Box. It works well, and I didn't have any issues. I ran 3DMark with it, and although the result is the sum of the whole system, the video card is a large portion. I scored 5277. It's not earth shatteringly great, but it is acceptable and fulfills its purpose.

I used the drivers from nvidia.com, not the ones provided.

Pros: Runs all my games at 1680*1050 easily. Combined with my new Acer 20" widescreen (thanks again newegg!) I'm in heaven without breaking the bank or needing to upgrade my power supply.

Cons: Having to apply for the rebate...I'm happy enough with the price that I'm considering not even doing it, but I shouldn't be so lazy.

Other Thoughts: My rig is pretty budget. Pentium D 805, 8600GT, 2gigs, 200gig sata, FSP 350w psu, dvd+-rw, all on a gigabyte mobo. Team Fortress 2 looks great at 1680*1050!

Rating + 2 Where is the 6-pin PCIe Connection

Pros: Loads Call of Duty 4 like gangbusters! Looks real yummy and seems like it will run great.
Then the ice-cream melts and plops out on the floor.

Cons: Drops 3d textures in the course of about 1 minute on my ECS GeForce6100SM-M motherboard until it crashes WinXP Pro'. I have a 450W/ non-SLI power supply.

Other Thoughts: The"Minimum System Requirements" on the box says "6-pin supplementary power connector" but there is no connection for my connector on the card. This particular card was advertised or boxed incorrectly. I am apparently not getting enough power through the PCI Express slot, but I cannot remedy the problem with a required power plug that doesn't even exist!

Rating + 5 Great value

Pros: My first PCIe, and it did not disappoint. As you might expect, this was a substantial step up from my 6800XT, but that's apples/oranges. Runs Source games at near max settings at 1680x1024 with a steady FPS in the mid-50s. Runs Crysis demo with mid-low settings / same resolution at a very playable frame rate. Paired with Allendale @2.8GHz / 2GB

Cons: I have not had much success with significant overclocking of this card with nTune. This despite replacing stock thermal grease with arctic silver. I believe that this is a limitation of the memory or GPU voltage need, since the card does not get very hot before failing, according to NVIDIA Monitor.

Other Thoughts: Have not yet (probably never will) installed the MSI config utility.

Pros: Was able to overclock quite a bit even though it already comes overclocked. Runs at a constant 40 C.

More importantly it runs Bioshock with all settings on high and COD4 looks awesome. Crysis will run on Med/High settings if you have a decent system.

Cons: Had some problems with the video drivers, do not use what's on the CD. I have Vista Ultimate and had a little trouble with the video drivers on my 1st install, used different nvidia ones for vista and all worked.

Rating + 5 MSI NX8600GT

Pros: Affordable, fast, easy to install & setup. Downloading latest drivers easy, MSI website very easy to navigate. Board comes with adapters & CD. Increased my Vista ratings from 3/3 to 5.9/5.5 (Graphics/Gaming graphics), a noticable improvement over the on-board video.

Cons: Fan does generate some noise, this may be because my TV card is mounted in the PCI slot directly under the PCI-E slot. The clearance between MSI cooling fan and the TV card is about 3/32 inch. This is probably causing part of the noise. Temperatures on the card are running 68~72C, pretty consistant. Cannot control fan speed even though MSI's dual core software would lead a person to believe it's possible. Vista doesn't like the MSI Dual core software in the start up group. Havn't been able to work around that yet.

Other Thoughts: I would suggest downloading the latest drivers from MSI prior to installing as the cd's were several versions out of date. For reference, I'm running a HP Pavillion, M8200N, AMD6000X2, 3 Gig DDR5300, Vista Home Premium Eddition. TV tuner Hauppauge HVR-1800. For the price, this is one of the best system upgrades I've done throughout the years.

Pros: Good performance at the 100$ price range, even less with rebate. This card can Company of Heroes runs wonderfully @ 1280x1024 and max settings (save AA) and Bioshock at perfectly respectable settings.

In a case with decent ventilation it runs at 50-60 degrees.

Cons: The fan is a little loud. With how cool it runs I think the heat pipe version (The EZ) might have been a better buy, though that could change if I try overclocking.

Other Thoughts: Ignore the MSI disk in the box and just install the tools available from Nvida's site.

Pros: Well, it's costs less than a hundred bucks, which is a good deal considering the only competition it has in this price range is the 2600 xt. It was easy to install and drivers from nvidia site worked great.

Cons: It's fan/heatsink design is pretty big, and it might restrict access to pci x1 or pci slot directly under it. It also overheated significantly after only four minutes under load in ati tool's artifact scanner and temps reached around 70 C. And I cant control fan speeds through ntune

Other Thoughts: I only bought this card because my 7600 gt burned out the other day, it's only a temporary solution until I build a new computer. As always, newegg's service was awesome and the order came in a day early.

Pros: Good value card at the lower end of the next gen tech(128bit GDDR3) DirectX10

Cons: Loud Fan; Stone age tech support - no forum, 30+ required field support request form(which you can email or fax in). If you sit next to this for more than couple hours, get another card. Most 8600 GT let you control the fan and even with Oced, you don't need the full speed fan. Some people opt to add a $30 heatsink to this $79 card. I say get another brand.

Other Thoughts: I called the tech support to confirm that this fan can't be controlled unless you also bought your motherboard from them. (It is the same lack of fan control whether you have the OC version or not) Then you can use DuoCore Center(XP) to control the fan speed. This card is a good buy if you also buy the mobo from MSI, run XP or you only stay near the machine for couple hours of gaming.

Rating + 3 Get other 8600 GT

Pros: Good Valued - card is already OCed and ready to go

Cons: Loud Fan - it is the loudest moving component in my whole computer and I have 2 of them. (PSU fan is nothing compare to it). The fan is running at full speed(which it probably doesn't need to) all the time. It is not a reference cooling solution and the fan is either not PWN or can't be controlled by the standard utility. I heard you may be able to do this on XP. If you can, lower the fan speed to 50%.

Other Thoughts: The tech support is a joke. Try this tech support request form yourself. http://www.msicomputer.com/msiapps/ts_form.aspx There are over 30 mandatory fields to fill before you can click submit. I have less to fill on my IRS tax form. I tried calling them - VOIP glitches, static and finally to their vmail box. No reply so far.

Rating + 5 Great value/performer

Pros: Great card for the buck. Running Unreal Tournament 3 at 1280x1024, 4/4 graphics settings, FPS in the 40's mostly with X2 4200+, 2GB ram, Win XP. Amazing upgrade over the 7600GS which had been in the machine.

Cons: None that I can think of.

Other Thoughts: With the rebate, this card is an awesome performer and upgrade for anyone trying to stay at or below $100. I also have an Asus 8600GTS in another machine. The 8600GT seems the better value in terms of FPS/price performance even though the 8600GTS definitely out performs it. At $85 after rebate, this card is a winner.

Rating + 5 Great product

Pros: Very good video card, i've owned my share of video cards and this is by far the one that exceeded all my expectations..
handles games very well on default settings. i haven't tried doing anything to it yet because i'm rather busy but will try in the future
fan is very quiet

Cons: None really

Other Thoughts: having a 400W+ psu should be enough for this video card, the tower i bought came with a 330W which wasn't enough to power it up, i have a 450W right now and everything runs smoothly, no complaints

Pros: Power sipper, excellent performance for price, by a Taiwanese company, HDTV support.

Rating + 4 Bang For Buck

Pros: One of the very best Value Cards available...ALMOST a mid range card- does very welll on most new (dx9-10) titles I have tried with fairly high settings

Cons: Wish I would have waited because you can get the 512mb version for a few bucks more

Other Thoughts: Will probably get another and run in sli- that should do pretty good!! Very reasonable solution for those of us on a tight budget.

Rating + 1 DOA

Pros: NONE - Worthless card! MSI support sucks!

Cons: Arrived DOA! It wouldn't even past “post”. MSI support is worthless, they said it was my computer. I tested the card on another machine and it intermittently would past post and power up, about one attempt in six. Replaced it with a EVGA card and all is well!

Other Thoughts: NewEgg is great - tey RMA'd the card with no problem. The (EVGA) replacement arrived in a day and works great!

Rating + 5 Works Well

Pros: Runs all my 3D apps very well.
I havn't tested it much on games since I don't really have any high graphics demand games.

Cons: Only came with one DVI to VGA/D-sub Adapter not 2 like the package contents say.

Other Thoughts: Will test it on linux yet
I didn't even try the drivers on the cd, I just downloaded the ones from the nvidia website and works well. I might have to post another review if anything messes up though.. I guess we'll see

Rating + 5 SWEEEEEEEEETT!!!!!

Pros: Excellent card if you're not a hardcore gamer for extreme games like Crysis. Good for other decent games most people play out there. Does not run hot at all. Very quiet. Rebate. Stock video card speed w/non-OC'd Q6600 and 3DMark 2006 score = 5762. Video card OC'd to 645 MHz 2D/3D Clock, 1698 MHz Memory Clock w/stock GPU fan and w/non-OC'd Q6600 and 3DMark score = 6237. I saw no artifacts or anything either. This is w/ Windows XP Pro

Cons: Not an 8800GT... but hell, those things cost like 3x as much. I still gotta feed my family and save for my future in case the world goes to heck you know...

Other Thoughts: w000000t!!!!!!!!! hope I get my rebate...

Rating + 5 Great Card

Pros: Great card, runs directx 10, not loud like many people claim it to be. Haven't done any timings with it yet but it does run considerably better than my 7600gt.

Cons: non so far

Rating + 3 good but fan broke

Pros: the card was good for CSS, oblivion, hellgate etc.
cheap, never gave me any problems until the fan broke.

Cons: Bioshock / crysis didn't run incredibly well, but you wouldn't expect them to on a 100$ card.

After like 6 months of fairly casual gaming the fan ceased spinning, completely out of the blue, I disassembled the cooling system to try and fix it to no avail. with no fan I could still play games but temps would go up to around 75C, and I would get artifacts in games

Other Thoughts: Replacing with an 8800GT, which is an amazing card.

I'd still recommend this card.

Cons: none so far.

Other Thoughts: card runs extremely well, idles at 40c with only 1 external fan from side vent blowing directly at it. under heavy load have only seen it go up to 63c

Pros: Card works very well, DO NOT INSTALL DRIVERS FROM CD, download from nvidia. Handles Bioshock and Crysis. Price drop soon probably, get another for SLI.

Cons: Ghhey graphics on card fan.

Other Thoughts: don't need PCIe power cables, card takes no power.

Rating + 5 GREAT MID LINE CARD

Pros: I'm using this card with an MSI 650i board in my office computer. I do alot of Adobe Illustrator CS3 and Photoshop CS3 work and this card runs great, and smooth.

Cons: Don't use MSI drivers for any Nvidia products, this incudes the motherboards as well. Go to www.nvidia.com and get the current drivers for your video card and 650i or 680i mother board.

Other Thoughts: Pair it up with a good DVI monitor and you will be happy. I'm using a Dell 20" Ultrasharp wideseen LCD (2007WFP). I also bought this cards big brother, the MSI 8600GTS OC'd for my gaming computer at home and I love that card as well. It plays Company of Heroes, Battlefield2, and Medal of Honor Air Borne at high setting ans never skips a beat.

Rating + 5 good card

Pros: good card. I upgraded my whole computer at once, so I'd kinda hard to issolate it down to just this card, but I know my games look really good. Very good price.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: small sized card which I like, makes for less clutter.

Rating + 5 Great Card, will buy another

Pros: Large heat sink and fan. Easy install, card & software.
Operates my 3D design software flawlessly.

Cons: None that I can find.

Other Thoughts: I this card to replace an EVGA 7300 GT(fan failed). With this being a widespread issue I decided to go with the MSI card after finding favorable reviews. Can't beat the price/function after MIR.

I will get another to hook up in SLI on my ASUS MB.

Thanks Newegg.
