Superb HD Video Card
Pros: Outstanding reproduction of HD video at 1080p that's super smooth and artifact free. Great card for 1080p displays, especially for photo post processing. Plays well with color management software. VERY quiet in 2D mode and runs cool as a cucumber in a Thermaltake Mozart TX uber-huge case with its ten Scythe fluid-dynamic bearing, 120mm, 1200rpm case fans. Beautiful rending of graphics for most games like Bioshock, Portal, Oblivion and the like. Great workstation card at less than 20% the price.
Cons: Not the fastest frame rates for playing Crysis. Not an issue with me, however. When it's in full-tilt boogie 3D mode, the fan it plainly audible over all 10 Scythe uber-quiet case fans. Had trouble displaying full resolution through LG display's HDMI input but NVidia's tech support was fast and efficient. This card is HUGE though it's not a problem in my uber-HUGE case except for having to purchase longer SATA cables to route around this big boy since all the drives in the Mozart TX are on the far size of the video card from every motherboard's SATA connectors.
Other Thoughts: Unless you're an uber-gamer, this card is an outstanding buy for outputting HD video to any 1920x1200 display. Honestly, it's just a plain steal for anyone doing post production photo processing and editing. It performs as well as a buddy's Quadro FX 4800 for high res photo editing at 1/7th the cost. Mind you, it won't keep up with it at the top end of the Quadro's performance envelope, but most users aren't anywhere near that demanding.

Worked Great
Pros: Worked great, ran most of my games well at or near best resolution.
Cons: Runs a little hot, I think I got a bad one, die after about two to three months of use. Heard a little humming sound, and then a few minutes later it crashed.
Other Thoughts: Great Card, I just got a bad one.

Great... Seriously
Pros: 2x GTX 260 in SLI + a good quad + more than 2GB Ram will run just about anything at 1080P, full settings. I really cannot be more satisfied with buying 2 of these at less than 400$.
Cons: None, seriously.
Other Thoughts: I would only get the 192 core if you already have another you want to SLI, otherwise stick with the GTX260 Core216, or better yet, go GTX 275/GTX 280.

Rebate sucks, Card Good
Pros: This is a very good video card for the money. Plays all my games on max setting without a glitch. Cod4, Halo, Tf2 and UT4
Cons: I give it 4 stars because the rebate which has taken 5 months still shows check mailed for past two months. Rebate is a joke and you cannot contact MSI about it. I would choose a different card for the same full price of this one.

Excellent Buy
Pros: I have purchased this card about a month ago and have had not one problem with it. I play Lord of the Rings Online on Ultra settings with around 40fps. I highly recommend this item not only for the price but the quality.
Cons: Did not come with the 6-pin power connectors needed to run the card, but of course newegg has these items as well.
Other Thoughts: I had a little trouble getting it working. But once I realized it needed both of the 6-pin power connectors installed to run I had no problems. I guess it helps to read instructions every once in a while. =)

Worth its size
Pros: Excellent performance for the money spent. Left 4 Dead is rendering 1280x1024/4xAA/8xAF/"Very High" settings at no less than 75fps in the most crowded scenes and upwards of 150 during lulls. For a factory overclock, it remains exceedingly stable.
Cons: Card occupies the maximum space possible for an ATX chassis, so accommodating its girth could be an issue on some older designs. World of Warcraft has occasional texture corruptions. The issue has only occured once every other week though.
Other Thoughts: This card is worth every cent for its generation. If you had to invest in any single G2xx card, this is the best deal.

Apologies for confusion
Pros: see other thoughts and/or previous post
Cons: see other thoughts and/or previous post
Other Thoughts: wanted to apologize for any confusion my previous post should have been on the OC version "2" of this card also offered by newegg. That card does have 216 proc cores as opposed to this cards 192. Well if you willing tyo take the chance on a rebate offer other card would come out less after rebate then this one and currently only ten bucks more w/o rebate. Either enjoy your product and sorry again.

10 weeks later.....
Pros: Have had this card going on approximately 10 weeks. At the time with the $30 rebate it was the least expensive GTX 260 Newegg was offering(Price). Card runs relatively cool , highest temp i have seen is 52 degrees C and as low as 40 degrees C. Running fan at 50% vs the stock 40%(Cool). Framerates are excellent and can play all the games i play at max settings , mainly Crysis , Far Cry 2, Everquest , Oblivion and a few others.
Cons: Big. Prepare to move/mod stuff. And depending on case forgeting that SLI setup altogether. Fan is loud at 50%+ 192 vs most other cards 216 cores MSI has almost non-existant (Live) customer service , however to be fair , when i e-mailed there rebate dept , they did respond if not at the very least promptly. 10 weeks later and still no rebate to be fair they did say up to 12 , we will see what happens with this. Card dropped in price few weeks later by $40 before rebate. However the above mentioned cons is why i took off an egg. If i do not receive my rebate. This card imo rates a 3 egg at best.
Other Thoughts: I posted a review about 3-4 weeks ago that i know for a fact newegg had up but for some reason is no longer here. The review was a 3 egg but after some time with the card and response from MSI rebate dept i think a 4 is appropiate . Unless of course i do not recieve my rebate , the nsince that effects overall price , i can feel justified in giving this 3 eggs.
As of right now going over neweggs GTX 260 offerings i would NOT recommend this card. The EVGA and XFX offerings IMO are better. 216 cores , price and the most important thing, those companies are a pleasure to deal with. I know from experience that EVGA has LIVE wonderful customer support and were super prompt with there rebates on past products, 6-7 weeks. Alot better then the 10 and still counting , holding my breath weeks. /shrug

What a Cheap MONSTER!!!
Pros: - Unbelievable performance. - Unbeatable price/performance. - Rock stable. - Fantastic framerates. - Great overclockability and customization through fantastic drivers.
Cons: (Personally I don't consider these cons, but if I have to..) - Runs very very hot. - Very large card. (This card is amazing.. there really are no cons..)
Other Thoughts: This is the first time in my life I have bought a video card and have been 100% happy with my purchase. I remember buying the Geforce2 when it came out years ago and spent a ton of money on it and wasn't all that happy with the performance. This card was very inexpensive and delivered bigtime on performance. I haven't come across a game that can lag this card yet. I run everything maxed out at 1650X1280. Gorgeous framerates. I have nothing bad to say about this card. The only thing I have to say bad is about you if you don't buy it already. I have compared to the 295 and it's not a WORLD of difference at all. Save the $300 and get this card. You will not be disappointed.

Nice card
Pros: Chews into anything you can throw at it. Drivers are really mature (use nvidia.com ones) and no problems in Vista. I put this in a dell machine (Inspirion 530) with a CPU upgrade and a power supply upgrade. No compatibility problems at all. Funny thing was the new components all cost more than the original system LOL.
Probably over kill, but I only use this card to run World of Warcraft. 1680x1050 res with all settings maxxed. Dalaran is smooth.
Cons: Card is big, make sure you have room. Requires more than your standard DELL power supply to run.
Other Thoughts: Probably something better by now, but for the price at the time of purchase it was a really good deal.

EXCELLENT CARD!!!
Pros: Ok I bought one of these as an open box item and all I have to say is I don't regret it at all. I took it and overclocked it to 690/1500/1185 and this thing beat my 4870 1GB card in 3dmark scores and everything I run on it is very smooth. So people don't hesitate to get it trust me you won't go wrong.
Cons: NONE AT ALL
Other Thoughts: People complain about the 192 compared to the 216 I really don't see a big difference just overclock and watch it go. :-)

Pros: Fast and reasonably priced.
Cons: Maybe I'm an idiot, but when did video cards become so friggin' huge? I bought this Lian Li midi-tower case four years ago and this bad boy sticks into the little 3.5" hard drive removable rack, making it unusable.

A good egg!!!
Pros: This card runs well in vista 64 and xp. great for gaming and photo editing. Its huge but not a con if you have the right size case
Cons: Shipped with only one 6pin power connector when 2 is needed. It heats up quickly, so additional cooling is needed for it.
Other Thoughts: i will recommend this card. A minimum of a 400 watts power supply is need with 2 six pin pci-e line

Card OK,,no MSI support
Pros: GTX 260 card,,,,,price, got this card for 199$
Cons: Dont expect any support with this card from MSI,no xtras at all with this card, dont expect any warranty coverage if you have a problem
Other Thoughts: MSI has the worst customer support I have ever experienced,,they do not respond to email (tried 3 times) and they have no customer support phone #.Buy EVGA there support is excellent.I will never deal with MSI again ,,no matter what the price.Customer support is the name of the game ,,at least for me it is

Overheating issues
Pros: Great performance for the price, no cheaper nvidia 260 out there than this one right now. I'm in love with it.
Cons: Have to be careful not to overheat it. I've yet to have a videocard crash my computer from overheating, but whew! This baby gets hot! Keep her cool and she'll treat you right.
Other Thoughts: Trust nvidia's website for 260 drivers, not MSI. oh, and dog save your soul if you're wanting to SLI this card. It's a huge card, and like i said, set it up smart or it'll overheat.

Left 4 Dead like a pro
Pros: Plays everything I have (1 game, but maybe I'll pick up another some day when I have free time) amazingly well.
Cons: My previous 8800gt videocard played Left 4 Dead fine, I just had a greedy consumer itch when I saw this on sale and felt like having all the extra anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering options enabled. :( Also, this card is longer. It was so long that my Sonata 3 case could barely fit it, and I had to remove frontal intake fan.

Pure win!
Pros: Best bang for the buck. This is not a "budget" model just because it's the least expensive. Running Mirror's Edge (with 1.01 patch) with 1900x1200, Vsync enabled, both video options as "highest," and anti-aliasing at 4x (although I was able to do 16x with barely any sacrifice of performance).
Cons: Unfortunately, I have to disable PhysX on Mirror's Edge, which I was really looking forward to. LOTS of people on teh interwebs are talking about this, so maybe you need an SLI'ed system for it to work well. Also, I wish there was included software that tells me whether it's getting enough power, or if it's underpowered and will fail prematurely.
Other Thoughts: Yes, I am another happy Intel Big Deal customer :)
Intel Q9300 C2Q, @ stock 2.5GHz Intel DP45SG MoBo G.SKILL 4GB DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Antec Sonata III (Earthwatts 500W psu)

Satisfying and Fulfilling
Pros: Love it! I upgraded from ATI 2900XT which having problem running my COH/COV and MassEffect. So decided to buy this one because of the price/Budget. To my suprise, this card has run all my games from oblivion, Crysis, Everquest 2, and COH/V with great ease.....
Cons: Box it was shipped in was fine but does not have the tape seal for retail boxes. Card itself has smudges and from looking closely at the PCIe connector, it seems that it has been used before.. Called Newegg Customer support, they are very helpful, I mean very "HELPFUL" (Dianne) the ask me to ship it back and on the next day I recieved another. to my suprise it has the same smudges and markings on the PCIe (from using a cleaner or eraser).. but I still installed it... WORKS GREAT SO FAR!!!!
Other Thoughts: Bulky!!! Bulky!!! Bulky!!! had to rearrange my HD to make this fit. Small sacrifice for a great gain performance!!!

Modest PC's will love this card.
Pros: What I started with: Asus A8N-SLI Premium Silver Stone ST56ZF 560Watt (single 12volt rail @38A) AMD 3800X2 at 2298.6MHz core clock (modest O/C) 2Gig RAM WD2500KS Hard Drive Lite-on combo SOHC-5235K Creative XB X-Fi XP SP3 Dell P992 Trintron 19” monitor Original - ATI 9800 First upgrade - 2 x 7800GT in SLI Second upgrade -single MSI Nvidia GTX260
FARCRY2 Settings: Demo(Ranch Long), 1024x768 (85Hz), D3D9, Fixed Time Step(No), Disable Artificial Intelligence(No), Full Screen, Anti-Aliasing(8x), VSync(No), Overall Quality(Very High), Vegetation(Very High), Shading(Very High), Terrain(Very High), Geometry(Very High), Post FX(High), Texture(Very High), Shadow(Very High), Ambient(High), Hdr(Yes), Bloom(Yes), Fire(Very High), Physics(Very High), RealTrees(Very High).
Average Framerate: 38.76 Max. Framerate: 72.35 (Frame:1017, 16.77s) Min. Framerate: 22.44 (Frame:5330, 124.56s)
Cons: I had ZERO issues getting this GTX260 card in my mid tower case. It is snug as a bug in a rug in the PCI-e socket. With none of the “drooping” or looseness some report. The dual slot bracket holds it fine. Nvidia might have used a “dummy” slot below the upper slot that fits into the PCI-e 1x slot to hold it a little better. The card isn’t really “huge” compared to my 7800GT’s with after market heat sinks. As a matter of fact, the PC looks empty with the new card. The card is about 10.5 inches long by about 4.25 inches deep by about 2 inches tall. I use a Praetorian ATCS Aluminum case, and it fits just fine. If you mount anything in front of the PCI-e slot you insert the card into, you will have to move it unless you have an extra long case. But that’s it. I just don’t see anything unreasonable about the card unless you have a small ATX form factor case (smaller than mid tower). I’d worry more about what might be in the way on your motherboard.
Other Thoughts: I have a recession PC, It’s handicapped by a budget and too much work. I know a lot of you run pretty good CPU power with your newer card, so I thought that I would report what to expect on a more modest PC, without a quad core CPU. I didn’t need a “super” video card so much as a “super” good value and reasonable expectations for an aging PC. The MSI Nvidia260, although a lower priced 260 card, seemed to be the right card and at the right price, about $200.00, for my PC. So this card, at a very reasonable price, allows a five times faster FPS with a HUGE detail improvement gaming experience on newer titles even on a just OK PC. The card is quieter (probably because it is still partly loafing in my PC) than my two 7800GT’s, that were being run to death. I can say if you have an older PC. Like mine, with an OK build out, the MSI GTX260 is about the perfect way to get a few more years out of your PC. I can drop down two more resolution to hold frame rates with more demanding games.

sweetest video card for price
Pros: Runs games great!
Cons: This card does not align with the PCI case slots in the XCLIO Windtunnel Fully Black Finish 1.0 mm SECC Chassis ATX Full Tower Computer Case. I had to cut two adjacent slots for this to fit (not sure if that's normal with large video cards).
Other Thoughts: Left 4 Dead froze randomly. The problem went away after I uninstalled the driver for the card and reinstalled only NVidia's driver from their website.

Great Card, Great Buy
Pros: Upgraded from a nVidia 7950gt and it was like going from driving mom's van to driving dad's Porsche. My 3dMark06 score went from 5500 with the old card to almost 15,000 with this baby! Play WoW and my fps in Dalaran doubled. Also play L4D and TF2 and am running both at Max settings and its smooth like butta.
Cons: Like others have said, this thing is a BEAST. I have a mid-tower case and this thing BARELY fit. Its also power hungry requiring two 6-pin PCI-E power plugs. Not that big of an issue though since all the great cards out there right now require a lot of juice.
Other Thoughts: Make sure you have a pretty beefy PSU if you are thinking about getting this card. This card requires 36A on the 12V rail so make sure to check what you are running now because you might (like me) have to also upgrade your PSU. I picked up a PCP&C 750w with 60A on the single 12V rail. Q6600 G0 3.0gHz, 4 GB Patriot DDR2-800, Abit IP-35 Pro, MSI GTX 260 x1

Great Card, Great Price
Pros: It eats any game for breakfast that I throw at it. I had been running two 7600 GT's in SLI for quite a while, and this card blows them out of the water. I used Nvidia's latest download instead of the install disk and the drivers went in fine. It runs a lot cooler than expected in my somewhat cramped case. Seems quiet enough too. My other fans overpower it and I play games with headphones so I can't hear it anyway. I had been thinking about a 9800 GTX+ model until I saw the pricing on this. This really is a great buy.
Cons: It's big. Really, it's big. It's longer than my motherboard is wide. I had to move two hard drives around to install it as the end of the card protrudes into the drive bay area and would block the connectors on the drives. Make sure you have plenty of space in your case, and make sure nothing is going to block the fan, like hard drive cables, etc. The card also occupies the top slot in my case, which made installing the VGA output adapter difficult. I had to use a different adapter as the one MSI shipped was wider. Check your slot clearance when installing to make sure the connectors aren't riding too close to the edge.
Other Thoughts: For some reason I can't hold 60 FPS with Doom 3 in every situation. The hangar at the beginning of the game in particular causes frame rate losses after looking around a bit, but it only happens with shadows turned on and only after looking around and moving around. This even happens at 800x600 with no Anisotropic or FSAA. No other game seems to have this sort of issue so I'm suspecting either a bug in Doom 3's shadow engine or a possible driver issue and not a problem with the card's performance.

Fabulous even in PCIe X16 1.1
Pros: Everything! Compatible, cooler than expected, faster than expected! The card is not overly huge and installed quickly and is firm in the slot. Convenient placement of the extra cables. The performance is incredible - I am a 3D online gamer and builder, usually running Second Life and Photoshop CS3 at the same time - unbelievable compatibility and performance!
I didn't touch the enclosed CD and just downloaded the latest drivers from nVidia - installed and booted up easily. The gaming control panel is easy to use and gives amazing control.
Cons: None at all!
Other Thoughts: In Second Life I was getting about 8 fps with an ATI HD2600 XT in Ultra settings. With a 1G 4870 it went to 20 fps. This card runs between 30 and 40 fps! In lower detail settings the frame rate can get as high as 100 fps! The secret to this performance is tweaking the Vertex Objects settings. 512 objects seems to provide the best performance.
I replaced a 4870 - the card was nice but constantly flickered. I believe it is because I have two monitors that run at different resolutions. This card exhibits none of these symptoms.

Pros: Great video card, it was a great deal at $187.98 - SHIPPED, That's a deal on the performance of this card. For WoW there is not need for 2, one keeps me at 60+ FPS even in Naxx, Dalaran, and Battlegrounds.
Would deffinately buy again, In fact my dad ordered one for his PC and he loves it too, He's getting 160-180 FPS on the same CPU as me, The Atholon x64 6000 3.1GHz, Which is going to get upgraded after the new AM2+ CPUs come down a little bit.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: You've read it, This card is big...I'm not even joking-If you've never had one of the 9800+ cards, you need to make sure this thing will fit...Especially on your Motherboard. My MSI K9A2 has 2 PCI-E ports, One is too close to the case to mount-the other has a heat pipe in the way...In the end I ended up bending the heat pipe to make it fit, It works nicely and have not had a problem - JUST MAKE SURE YOU CHECK TO SEE IF IT FITS.
MSI is a great company and after seeing this card and my Motherboard, I'm convinced to be an MSI-guy.

Worth the money
Pros: Running this card with a 19 inch LCD at a resolution of 1680x1050. I played Oblivion, fallout3, Cod4, and Farcry2 with high settings. The card handled it all like butter. The temps reached around 55C during game play and that is with the fan speed at 40%. I'm seriously impressed by the performance and how cool it runs.
The fan isn't loud at all. My case fans make more noise than this card does.
It is being powered by a Antec EA650 650W PSU. There is no need for those insane 750-1000W power supplies for this card.
People complain that it has only 192 cores. While this is true, I feel that the price makes up for the lack of cores.
Cons: It does not have a lifetime warranty.
What you should look out for is what the card will cover on your mobo. I underestimated how much space this card would cover on a Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P mobo. It ended up covering all the LED switches for the front case, including the pwr, and reset.
The card also covers the floppy drive socket, the firewire socket, and two usb sockets. I had to install all these cables before putting the card in. The card rests firmly on top of these cables, but everything functions perfectly.
It really isn't a con because it is a fault with my mobo's design.
Other Thoughts: The most common complaint is the length. However, that should be expected with current gen cards. I fit this card into a Antec 300 case, so I have no complaints about length.
For gaming at a resolution of 1680x1050, this card is perfect. If you want to play games at 1920x1200 or beyond, then consider buying a 280gtx or an ATI equivalent.

This thing rocks!
Pros: This card is amazing not to mention the price! Obviously the 280 GTX would be better but not by a whole lot and its far more money. The built in fan is nice and fairly necessary too depending on the games you play it can really overheat. Some benchmarks: Call of Duty 4: all settings turned to high and extra with 4X Anti-Aliasing and 1680 X 1050 resolution. FPS: 130-135
Crysis: all settings turned to high with 8X Anti-Aliasing and 1680 X 1050 resolution. Xfire or fraps wont pull up ingame i think because I have 64-bit Vista so I havent been able to tell the FPS that I get with Crysis but I'll just say that it runs ridiculously smooth. Its awesome. No hesitation at all which is incredible for Crysis
I'll edit this review with more benchmarks once I get Farcry 2, Call of Duty 5, and Fallout 3
Cons: ITS HUGE!!!!!!!! MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ROOM IN YOUR CASE FIRST. (and if you dont, buy a bigger case lol). Other than that, none
Other Thoughts: My system specs: CPU: AMD Phenom 2.5 Quad Core RAM: OCZ Platinum 4GB 1066mhz Graphics Card: Nvidia Geforce 260 GTX :-) Power Supply: Corsair 850 watt

Good Card, hate mail-in rebates
Pros: Good card for the price. The 260 should be plenty for 1280x1024 gaming in most games. Even 1680x1020. Of course depending on your processor...
Cons: Big? Not free?
Other Thoughts: I bought this card in Nov and I still haven't gotten my mail-in rebate. I am starting to hate these mail-in rebate scams. I have to say though, MSI probably has the best mail-in rebate process of all the companies I've had to do mail-ins recently. At least you can track it and stuff.

Great Card
Pros: Great fast card plays all games at full graphics on all games ..
Cons: Very big had to rearrange my Gateway Gt5674 by moving my hard drive into my Gateway Portable media drive . The first card I got was broken and it for some reason fried my onboard Ethernet card which made me go crazy cause I could not go on the net . I just had to pay 10 bucks tho and I got a new Ethernet card now everything is great.
Other Thoughts: Make sure when you plug in your Pci-e power connectors to the card that you put each plug into the card on different rails . I have a 700w power supply that has 2 pci-e power connectors on it in the same rail which was only 18 amps. So I had to use only one of them and then on another rail I plugged in the molex Pci-e connector that comes with the card so I could get the 36 amps that this card needs to run...

Great
Pros: Works great, big difference when playing crysis, left 4 dead, and the witcher at max settings compared to my old 256 video card that came with my hp pavillion elite m9400t
Cons: other than being big, NONE

Excellent card
Pros: Super fast card. I can pretty much everything at max or near max. Crysis runs like a dream. Goes perfectly with my new system and Vista 64-bit. Might get some aftermarket cooling once some becomes available.
Running Q6600, Asus P5Q Pro, 4GB ram
Cons: None to be heard.
Other Thoughts: Of course, the card is big and I had to move my HDD bays around before everything fit nicely but that's not really a con.

A big tip maybe
Pros: I got this a while ago.. just wanted to leave a tip. If you install this in an Antec 900, you will HAVE to remove the black plastic piece in the middle of the case(I believe this is for mounting another fan)to fit it in. If you do not do this, it will seem like the Video card is seated, and the card will not work due to not making complete contact. That plastic piece blocks it from sliding completely in. This happened to me with the P5Q Pro mobo. If you are having a problem, try removing that hunk of plastic.
Cons: None really with the actual card..
Other Thoughts: Good card. Haven't had any other issues.

Cheapest 260 on the market
Pros: Had no trouble installing this or running it. It handles Crysis on 1440x900 on all High settings with no problem at all! Comes with everything you'd need. Probably the cheapest gtx260 you'll find anywhere unless EVGA pulls a few rebates on theirs.
Cons: MSI's included software is useless. If you want to OC the card I suggest downloading a different software. The directions aren't any help since it doesn't mention if you have to connect 1 or both of the power connectors (It's both btw).
Other Thoughts: MSI's driver is terrible, download the driver directly from Nvidia website instead.
My friend has a system that's nearly identical to mine except he has the gtx280. In Crysis the game looks almost the same, there are only a few noticeable differences when you know what to look for, but it's not going to be a big deal at all.

Great Card
Pros: Card is great, Fast runs Crysis on Ultra on Vista 64bit. COD WAW, Farcry 2 Flawless. Runs even better with then in SLi. maxed out resolution at 1920x1200 single card 31 fps, SLi 42fps. Runs as hot as my old 8800 Ultras but with a mass of improvements and performance. System- ASUS Sticker II Extreme, E8500, Thermaltake 1200watt. Vilocorapter 300GB
Cons: I could not get the second card to go in my ASUS M2N-SLi Deluxe. The cards case has a part around brace that is in the way of clearing a capacitor so you are not able to push the card all the way in the slot. You would ether have to take off the case to make the clearance., or move the capacitor.
Other Thoughts: NONE

Pretty Good
Pros: - Solid performance. - Solid instructions. - Comes with the HDMI converter, and a mess over other connectors. - Runs at reasonable temperatures.
Cons: - Fan can be somewhat droning, even at low loads. - Big. (It's a modern-age gaming card, sort of expected.)
Other Thoughts: Be careful when installing this card. Check to see if the PCI-E slot stabilizer/clip has enough clearance to release the card before throwing it in. If the clip or handle is tall enough, you might not be able to release the card.

Excellent price, but too huge and incompatible
Pros: Good performance if you can fit it and get it to work with your MB
Cons: Card too long, too heavy Conflicts with PCI cards
Other Thoughts: Got the card with the MIR and coupon code, was excited to get an excellent deal. But, the card is VERY long, and that almost makes it impossible to fit on my Abit IP35E MB, and in the Antec 900 case, since a lot of cables are running through the spot at the end of the video card, and the IDE cables are plugged in there as well. After finally managing to clear enough space for the card, I booted the machine, only to find that none of my PCI cards were recognized by the system (a sound card and a tv card). Clearing CMOS did not help. Having had a similar sad experience with a GF5900 (the dustbuster), I sadly decided to return this card, and keep my old GF8800GT. In the future, I will stick with single slot cards, even if it means sacrificing performance - I wish manufacturers would stop producing these monster 2-or-3 slot cards, and switch the thinking back to the single slot solutions.

Fasamatastic!
Pros: The greatest buy of my life! I got it for 199 and every other version of this is a good 40 - 50 bux more, and even thats a great buy. Even though the new version has 216sp's this one's 192 are still well worth the buy. I upgraded from a 7600gt. I am running a 430W psu with 4 gigs of ddr2 800, 4 hard drives, and a 2.4 ghz core 2 duo.
Cons: It played Crysis on Gamer flawlessly, but my whole system crashed in an odd way, so i suppose i should get a new psu, it is recommended that you have atleast a 500W psu. Oh and its friggin huuuuuuge!!! But i was able to shimmy it into my Mystique.
Other Thoughts: Hoooooray?

Awesome
Pros: Installed and booted up right away with no issues. HUGE upgrade over my 7900GT superclocked.
Cons: Temps are higher than my old 7900gt but I was expecting that to some degree. Only seen it up to 62 degrees (C) when under load playing Crysis, so not bad. Also, it is HUGE. This mammoth beast required me to move around some HDD cages in my Antec 900 case. (And it is not a small case) Make sure you have a full foot of room to fit this giant card.
Other Thoughts: For $199 with free shipping, you can't beat it. I was originally going to get a 4850, but when the GTX260 dropped to $199, I just could not resist. Great card, and I am glad I spent the extra money for the GTX260 since I play at 1920x1200. I think the 4850 would have been a bit of a letdown.

Very very powerful card, excellent buy
Pros: Absolutely awesome card, runs everything I throw at it flawlessly. One thing I especially like about this card, it has a "powermizer" if you could say, it automatically adjusts the cards mem, core, and shader clocks when it is not under load, this is ESPECIALLY good for me, I am currently running on a 350 Watt PSU, monitoring the power consumption using a zalman ZM-MFZ2 it uses under max load 273 watts total. Granted I only am running two hard drives, an Athlon 4200+, and 2GBs of RAM. If you want a card that can do everything with gaming, look no where else.
Cons: As many have said before me, its gigantic! I had to remove my hard drive bay just to fit it within the case.
Other Thoughts: Even though its not an eVGA, I am WHOLEHEARTEDLY satisfied with this card.

Pros: This card is fantastic! Plays Crysis on High, plays all source games at max settings without a problem.
Cons: Not a GTX 280
Other Thoughts: Although the 280 and the core 216 version of this card are better, the price that those cost doesnt seem to be worth it.

GTX 260
Pros: This card is amazing!! It runs very good and I got high FPS switching from a 8800gt. I bought this card 3 hours before the price went up 40$... I guess its so good and was cheap that many people bought it and newegg raised the price. Runs Crysis Warhead at 1680x1050 on enthusiast settings 30 fps.
Cons: The price increase after 3 hours. I was going to buy a 2nd one and when I went and looked, it was $240 again.
Other Thoughts: GTX 260 + 8800gt (Acting as a PhysX card.) 4gb DDR2 800 MSI p6n Diamond 680i mobo X-FI sound 2 HDD's q6600 @ 2.4ghz
Runs excellent! Now time to upgrade my mobo. Don't buy a MSI mobo if you look to overclock.

MSI GTX260
Pros: MSI GTX 260 is already overclocked. It is afortable, a real bang for your buck.
Cons: Only (192) cores / rather then 216 cores
Other Thoughts: I have 2 GTX 260 in sli, I suggest any one buying 2 GTX 260's or 3 to get the MSI GTX 260 (192 core). You will save much more money and have nearly the same preformance as the GTX 260 (216 core). PS the 192 core is not compatible with the 216 core.

Great card
Pros: The card is fast, runs very cool, and was easy to install. It has overclock potential. I'm very pleased with it.
Cons: It's rather big; I had to move a hard drive into a 5.25" bay in order to fit it into my case properly.
Other Thoughts: I'm using it on an Asus P5Q Pro with an Antec 850W PSU.

Pros: Im a Gamer, I Play WoW online and the video card runs perfect. Very fast.
Cons: No Cons.

it chops, it dices
Pros: Nice price, good bang for your buck card. Came factory overclocked 620/2160 shaders at 1296, using nVidia reference drivers. Not that loud as some people make it out to be, pretty quiet for the muscle actually. On a noise scale from 1 to 10 if a 8800gt is a 3 then this card is a 4. Box has handle so you can swing it as a weapon if need be.
Cons: The utility CD is pretty useless. Not as quiet as a 8800gt BUT it is twice as fast...
Other Thoughts: Running with a Rosewill Xtreme 630 power supply and C2D 2160 at 3.2ghz. More then doubled my fps in Fallout 3 over my old 8800GT.

Pros: The card is fantastic. Solid. It runs great for the price
Cons: Its a biggy. I read this in the reviews before purchacing, I get it now. Its big.

WOW - Buy this card!
Pros: This card is amazing! I wanted to replace an HD-2600XT - the 4870 was good but had problems. This not only kicked the 4870's but but had none of the problems. No flicker, no GPU hangs - ultimate performance. Second Life went from 12 FPS in High to 45 FPS in High - 70 in Low and still 31 in Ultra! Low CPU loading - I don't see any VM creep. I've only had it a few hours and I cannot say it's been a better experience ever!
It's a big card but don't be scared off. It's not as big as other x1 or x2 cards. Fits nicely in my Thermaltake case. Also the extra power connectors are conveniently located. Documentation is good to excellent!
Cons: I can't think of any. If I find any I will certainly let you know.
Other Thoughts: This is a high end board - be prepared to have a good power supply with the right connectors, and follow the instructions if you are a noob. This is not something you are going to slap into a mid-range case with a low rated power supply. But if you are serious about performance, this is a really great board for the price.

Getting RMA'd
Pros: See my last one
Cons: See my last one.
Other Thoughts: I cant even play COD 2 (A 3 year old game) without shut downs. Its set at stock speeds (not even factory OC), its not a heat issue (fan on 100%).
I've tested all components and the psu and pulling just over half watts of what my psu is rated. I have each 6 pin connector on seperate rails with nothing else connected to them so I know its getting enough amps.

Great when it works
Pros: Great card
Cons: Keeps shutting down and locking up. Updated all drivers and have a 680w psu so really dont get this one. Not heat only got to 56c so I am kinda stumped on this one
Other Thoughts: I have a new 750 psu on the way as i was going to buy one anyway my last one had 40amps on 2 rails so its not power issue. I really dont know what to do if i cant get it figure out by next friday i guess i am sending this back

o_O
Pros: This thing is a beastly super-card.
I got over 1000 fps on the Crysis intro movie, and 60 fps on high settings during gameplay.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: This card Even gives you easy access to over clock it, although it's not needed.

good deal, good card
Pros: the card is quiet and cool, the nvidia drivers from nvidia's site work great
Cons: throw away the CD, was this card supposed to be factory overclocked? I had to rearrange a few things in my case to fit it. Expected more
Other Thoughts: I am happy with this card but running warhead on high(not extreme) @ 1680x1050 w/ 0xAA, 0xAF gives 20-27 FPS.
Q6600 @ 2.4 GHz 2 GB RAM Thermaltake tsunami case

I guess it's working
Pros: Its fast. Nice price.
Cons: Like all GTX200 series, the auto fan control. Sorry, but letting a cpu get to 70c before the fan spins faster isnt cutting the mustard.
I use Riva tuner to put the fan at 70% idle and 100% gaming.
Wasnt factory overclocked when I recieved it.
After a week I'm getting random shut downs. I've tested component with almost every software test on the web. Nothing is showing errors. You can only test a PSU so much (yes mines good enough) but I went ahead and ordered an even stronger one with 20 amps. If shut downs still continue then I'm gonna RMA the card.
Other Thoughts: The people that say their card came factory OC'd. Are ya'll installing the drivers on the CD or downloading the newest ones straight from Nvidia's website?
I'm using the latest nvidia drivers and software.

Wonderful card!
Pros: Wow, what a step up from a 8800GT! I thought about a 216 core but for the little increase it offers over the 192 core, i stuck with this card and saved 50 bucks in the process. I play at 1920x1200 and this card on a 24" and it keeps up with anything that i throw at it with not a whimper. The fan is pretty quiet even at 60% and i can't hear it over my other fans at all. You will be very happy with this card!
Cons: Yeah its huge and very long and heavy, and you might have a problem fitting it in your case. The length was fine for my YY cube case, but the two 6 pin Pcie connectors ar on the top of the card instead of the back. That could have caused a bit of a problem for me but it worked out fine.
Other Thoughts: Make sure you have the power for this card, as the 200 series are power hungry. I would recommend at least a 600 watt PS of good build quality with 40 to 50 amps on the 12 volt rail.

ROcks
Pros: FOr a MSI card, this is not bad. Huge upgrade from evga 8600 gts 512mb-128bit. Ran Crysis With Everything on Very High and AA 16xQ on 1280 x 1024 with 20-25 frames. COD4 with 100 frames. Fallout 3 with 60 Frames
Cons: recommend atleas core 2 duo e4500
i Ran this with BFG tech 650 Watt SLI PSU
Other Thoughts: Make sure you have a big case, cause your going to need it lol.

Excellent card!
Pros: Amazing card! It handles everything I throw at it. HL2:EP2 at 1080P w/x16AA everything maxed @ 120+ FPS. COD 4 1080P maxed w/4 AA @ 60+ FPS. Crysis very high 1080P w/x4AA @ 30-40FPS. Blew my 8800GT 256 mb out of the water.
Cons: This card is freakin' huge and heavy. I thought my 7600GT was big, then my 8800GT, but this thing is a monster!
Aside from the size, I have no complaints.
Other Thoughts: Inter Q6600 @ 2.9ghz, 4 gigs of OCZ DDR2 1066, Windows Vista Ultimate 64 bit, 600 watt Ultra powersupply.
Thanks to this card I have moved from barely maxing COD 4 at 1280 x 1024 to maxing Crysis at 1920 x 1080. I was blown away by its performance.
Make sure your case can handle the size and make sure you have two 6 pin connections.

good card
Pros: Fast and stable. Good at what it does.
Cons: Beware that this card is super long, and also very difficult to install on certain motherboards. For example the MSI P7NSLI which has an audio connector placed at the edge of the board under the exact spot where their is a protrusion from the video card.
Other Thoughts: I would not hesitate to recommend this card because of that one flaw.

Just Purely Awesome...
Pros: So far I've tried Far Cry 2, COD 5, GRID, DIRT and I've played everything totally maxed out including AA, AF, Resolution (1680 X1050)
Cons: Maybe it couldn't be so huge but it fit my case no problem (NZXT Apollo)

260 gtx
Pros: huge improvement over 8600gt sli. came at 620 core, which is fine because i plan on overclocking anyways. runs all of my games maxed now. i think it's pretty quiet as well. even if anything above 40% is loud, you can always turn it down when you aren't ingame. and i would also recommend this over a 300 dollar 216 core, because i hear 192's oc better and the increase isn't worth it.
Cons: no cons yet; quiet, maxes games on stock clocks, installs fine in an antec 900.
Other Thoughts: can run crysis maxed with 2xaa at 1680x1050, with somewhat smooth fps. even with my cpu bottlenecking :) e4300 @ 3.1ghz 4gb g.skill

nice card
Pros: With my q9550 @ 3.4ghz and 4gb of ram, this card has been running GTA4 and Crysis significantly better than with my 8800gt. I can run Crysis on Very High, DX10 at 1280x768 with 2x AA and rarely does the framerate dip below 30. I also really like how the card underclocks itself when you're just running 2d apps. Decent price/performance ratio.
Cons: As many have said, it's big... but this shouldnt be a surprise for anyone after glancing at a couple reviews. Had to cut some metal off of the hdd cage to fit this card in my case, but granted, it is a SFF microatx case, and i expected to have to do some modifying to get it to fit.
Other Thoughts: Not sure why so many people have listed the fan noise as a con. I don't think it's all that loud, especially compared to the ati x1800 series. I have a 80mm fan on the side panel window of my case that blows air right at the intake for the card, and it Idles around 40c and under full load it reaches 60-70. Even under load, I never really hear the cards fan spin anywhere close to full speed. Haven't had a chance to tinker with the clocks much yet. The GPU core is running at 650 w/o any problems atm however... i'm fairly sure there is a bit more headroom there, but not to much more.

Great card and price for performance
Pros: Fast. Runs everything my son can throw at it and more. High frame rates in every game he has installed and all at the maximum settings -- he loves it and loves dad for getting for him.
Cons: Big card -- long and wide (two slots) and pretty heavy. Requires two 6 pin power connectors and they only provide you one adapter -- luckily, our PS had one available already. Supplied software failed multiple times to install correctly (XP) and yielded a 4bit color screen. Downloaded the beta drivers from MSI and everything worked -- no OC options in the beta, but so far it runs so fast we haven't evey thought about OC'ing this beast.

Freaking Awesome Card
Pros: I am a professional IT consultant and Cisco Certified network technician. For a little background !!
I really think that this card cannot be beat considering I paid around 189 dollars after rebates.
I play world of warcraft amongst many other first person shooters and have really ran this card through the mud my first week of ownership. I coupled this with the new ASUS 22" HDMI 1090p monitor that was released a few weeks ago.
System specs are e8500 base speed, 4gb ddr2 800 corsair, P45 northbridge. I dont care about SLI btw...using DVI for monitor interface.
WOW with all settings maxed - 1920x1080 in a 25 man raid = around 102fps (Fraps was the tool I used) avg.
COD 4 - I dont even know but it felt like 200 or more FPS.
Basic windows environment and DVD performance was absolutely stunning in performance (2d performance).
Just a freaking nice card. Cant wait to OC the thing even more.
Cons: I cant really think of any. Maybe I should have waited for the GTX 290 or whatever it is called to drop the price of the GTx280 but the 260 is probably about the best bang for the buck on the market.
Other Thoughts: I dont know if these rebates are still available but if you want performance get one. On another note it doesnt include an HDMI cable but for the price who cares. Plus HDMI is kinda useless unless you really care about using in monitor speakers. DVI has the same quality if not better for LCD performance.

nice card so far
Pros: So far this card has performed beautifully. It is stable at a decent overclock setting, which i used ntune from nvidia to do and riva tuner to adjust the fan speed. If i remember correctly the out of box fan speed is 40% which, in my system, kept the card around 52C idle and 57C under heavy load. After using riva tuner and turning the fan up to 80%, temps never went above 48C. The fan is pretty good on the card, it actually lowered my overall system temperature. So overall, i am very pleased with this card, i can run all the games i have on very high graphic settings, such as city of villains, oblivion, black & white 2, and the witcher to name a few. PhysX works well, but as a note, for some games you need an actual, physical, physx card for the option to be enabled, such as in city of villains. you can get one from here, newegg.com, for around 90 which fits in the PCIE 1x slot (the small little guy you dont think you will ever use, lol). Last words, great card for the money.
Cons: Not too much of a con, if at all, but as to be expected of a card such as this, it is very large. This card measures 10.5" roughly in length, so you need to make sure you will have space in your case. I have a rosewill case, model number R6A34-BK, and it JUST fits in the case. (HDD cage is the clearance issue). I had to remove 2 hard drives for this card to fit, since it just fits and is less than an inch from the hard drive cage; note the hard drives stick out from the cage, so it barely fit against the cage. Also keep in mind it uses some juice, so have a good powersupply. I also have a rosewill powersupply (750W) which has the required power connectors. For this card you need 2 6-pin power cables to plug into the card. So just make sure you have everything you need before buying so you are not disappointed.
Other Thoughts: Overall, this card has been great for me. One note, i changed a few bios settings to get the card to perform good. I changed the PCIE Slot Power Limit from 25W to 200W in the bios, just so i can make sure the card gets everything it needs. Don't change settings you are not sure of obviously, you will need to make changes to your system according to your own system for this card. I did not use the MSI drivers, i downloaded the latest nvidia right away before i installed the card, so I do not know how the msi drivers are. This card is a bargain right now, I see no reason not to buy if you are already thinking of buying a card; since this card can also handle a decent overclock to match what some of the more expensive versions are at. Long review, but there was a lot to say about this good product. As always, Newegg has come through once again.

Quite the Struggle
Pros: Powerful, HDMI Support, PCI-Express 1.0 Compatible, Plays almost everything at max settings with deacent frame rates.
Cons: Powerhungry 38 Amps (About 200 watts), Huge, High resolutin requires you to plug the cable into the primary display port (Closest to the S-video), Make sure you have room for it (I had to remove two hard drives to make it fit)
Other Thoughts: Wow!

Pros: Obviously not the best card on the market but for the price I'd say it can't be beat. Haven't had a chance to test it with Crysis yet, but its handled every game I've thrown at it so far without any hint of a problem. Ridiculously fast and powerful compared to my old 8500GT. Contrary to what I had read in some places this card remains very cool under load.
Cons: None so far.
Other Thoughts: What people say about the size is true; this card is nearly a foot long. If you don't have a full tower it probably won't fit. Even so I was forced to move my system hard drive up one slot in order to get it in. Don't get too worked up about power requirements, even with 4 hard drives I'm running this just fine on a 500W PSU.

Great video card
Pros: -Not DOA -Very quiet, even after an hour of far cry 2 my cpu fan is louder than the fan on it -Runs all my games at 1920x1200, almost all details maxed out.
Cons: -None
Other Thoughts: Probably the best mid range card out there right now for the ~$200 price range.

What a Monster!!
Pros: I put this baby into my rig, and it has eaten games up like hot cakes. Runs almost everything I have thrown at it without a problem. Looks great on my 22 inch monitor with a resolution of 1680 x 1050.
Cons: It was big, but thats not a con for my Asus P5Q Pro MOBO.... Not really a con anyway.
Other Thoughts: WOW = 60 FPS highest settings COD 5 = 60 FPS highest settings NBA2K9 = Full speed Highest settings Crysis = 60 FPS on Gamer settings, the one below the highest setting., Enthusiast.

BEST Price/Performance
Pros: PRICE. This is the cheapest GTX 260 you can get (well it was the cheapest when I bought it.) And it's not a 'you-get-what-you-pay-for' dilemma, either: it comes in overclocked already at 620 core/1080 memory (2160 effective)/1296 shader. As a lot of other people said, you can effortlessly push it farther, and I got 700 core/1200 memory (2400 effective)/1400 shader with ntune! Not bad for the cheapest you can get, and it stays stable too- FurMark for 22 minutes was stable w/1024x768 windowed, EXTREME burning mode, 16xMSAA. And of course it can play Crysis on high settings, I got 6 hours stable in it (haven't tried very high yet due to Vistaids DX10 exclusiveness.) Finally, fan noise is not an issue- I have it at 70% and don't notice it but it's probably cause I use headphones all the time, but with them off, the fan itself doesn't make any noise like whining or whatever, it just sounds like lots of air moving.
Cons: It can get uncomfortably hot- the above FurMark reached and stayed at 80C with the fan at 70%, I personally wouldn't have the fan go any lower than that if you plan to OC. Also, Crysis Warhead got up to 85C on the final boss fight, which is kindof bad but other times it just stayed at 70-80C. And this thing is a fracking behemoth, being thicker and longer than my old 8800GT SLi set up, you will have to reposition some hard drives, but for me I only have two hard drives so it wasn't a problem.
Other Thoughts: FPS Results: Crysis & Crysis Warhead, All high settings, 1440x900: 20-40 FPS Left 4 Dead, everything MAX (incl. AA, AF, all of that), 1440x900: 60 FPS consistently[note: Vsync caps your FPS so it's possible to go way higher than this without it but I don't see the point] Everything else: who cares but it will run it I bet you my life with at least high settings.
Just buy this card and be ready for reconstructive surgery because this card will punch you in the jaw so hard with its greatness it'll feel good.

very nice card
Pros: Powerful performer that works as advertised. So far has not been notably loud in or out of gaming. Strong mid-high level performance at a fair price.
Cons: Barely a con, is the size. It's nearly a full length PCI(e) card and is long enough to cause some issues in some cases. I had to remove my hard drive tray from my older Lian Li (mid tower) case in order to fit it. Also it's a double slot card. Also it's very heavy, and seems to sag a bit from it's own weight.
Other Thoughts: Card works as advertised. I like the HDMI output, the card comes with a special DVI adapter which allows for a true HDMI output. A small cable is provided to connect the video card to sound card.
Would probably recommend precautions if transporting a computer with this video card installed, as I could see a good jolt in the right direction cause the card to unseat due to weight.

not overclocked
Pros: Great card, playes everything. Runs Crysis on max and anything else you want to play. The air movement for the card is amazing. Sucks the air out of the case and out the back of the PCI slot.
Cons: Didn't come overclocked like it said, HUGE card 10.6 inch long.
Other Thoughts: Nah, its a great card

Great performance, but louder than expected
Pros: Great performance, low idle noise In Crysis I got 30+ fps at 1680x1050 on very high (no AA), which is great.
Cons: louder fan noise at full load than expected. From reading other reviews I thought load noise would be lower. To my admittedly sensitive ears it sounds pretty loud. It was distracting when playing Crysis with circumaural headphones. I have the pc on my desk to the right of me so that doesn't help. I have a 9600GT with a Vantec Iceberq6 cooler, so that's pretty near silent.
Other Thoughts: Very tight fit in the Antec Sonata case, but it did fit. Also, no problem running on a Corsair 520 Watt power supply with 40A on the 12 V rail.
Because of the higher than expected noise at full load I returned this card.

Works Great!
Pros: Comes overclocked out of the box. Nice card design. Fit in my Apevia X Navigator case with no problems even though it's longer than my old 8800GTS 640MB. I notice much smoother gameplay at 1920x1080 (1080P HD) on my 37" Westinghouse. Quiet for such a large card.
Cons: none.
Other Thoughts: I'm running a C2D E6600 8GB OCZ Nvidia SLI Ready Ram 320 Maxtor HD 500 WD Caviar Black P5B Deluxe Wifi/AP MSI GTX 260 Soundblaster X-FI Gamer

Overkill is great
Pros: This thing is great , I see no need to spend more money on a video card , get one of these wait awile then get another for Sli , this thing plays everything at highest settings,, GTA4 runs great, not one game gets under 50FPS !!! and it makes no noise.
Cons: Huge , you better have a big case and a very good power supply.

Awesome CARD!!!
Pros: This has to be one of the best bang for my buck! Got it for $184.99 from Newegg. Fan is pretty quiet as well...
Cons: HUGE!!! As long as your case is big enough, it shouldn't matter. The card is 10.5" long. I had to remove my HD cage to get this to fit. But I ain't complaining.
Other Thoughts: Some people complained about not having 12V adapters that convert to 2x 6pin. Since the card comes with one. What they don't understand, if you have a decent PS, you don't need it. I also just bought a Rosewill RX630-S-B 630W from newegg as well and it comes with 1x6pin PCI Exppress and a 6+2pin PCI Express connectors. I didn't need to use the one I have. So don't listen to the complainers about that on this site. But do realize you need to make sure you have atleast 1x6pin PCI Express connector on your PS. Or you will need to purchase a converter somewhere.

On XP 32bit
Pros: Far Cry 2 using Short Ranch all Highest settings 1440x900 AAx0 = 33-71f/s Avg 41f/s 1440x900 AAx8 = 21-43f/s Avg 27f/s 1680x1050 AAx0 = 30-61f/s Avg 38f/s 1680x1050 AAx8 = 18-33f/s Avg 23f/s
Crysis with everything on High, except Shadows are medium, usually gets about 34f/s.
Starcraft looks about the same...
Overall, vast improvement over 8600 GTS. I was pulling 25f/s at 1280x800 at low
Cons: FC2 did alot better with DX 10 but it crashed during actual play. Vista = stress.
Other Thoughts: 9850 BE, GTX 260, 4gb 1066MHz, (all at stock speeds for this review)
32bit XP Directx 9. For the short time I had Vista 32bit Directx 10 was better for FC2 but not for Crysis to the same extent it was for FC2

simply the best cheapest gtx260
Pros: I don't even need to overclock and i can max every game out there with all the balls and eye candy on
crysis 1440x900 all high gets more than 45frames in game most of the time
left 4 dead stayed over 100 frames + 95% of the time
rainbow six vegas 2 over 80frames+
overall, what im trying to say is that it'll max out every game; however, if you have the extra 40$ id get the core 216 since its about on par with the gtx 280 and its much cheaper. but if you don't, i cant see why this 199$ card would be passed up. its really a steal in comparison to how much it used to cost several months ago (over 300$)
the card is well ventilated; it always manages to stay about 40 idle and about 65 load which is incredible for a huge card
the power consumption on this card is very very power efficient, it draws abotu 160-180watts on idle and no more than 340w under load . the drawing power is even lower if you have a medium end motherboard + processor
3DMark06 = 15,804 on a DUAL cor
Cons: it cant pass 755mhz core but thats not really a con
most gtx 260s will hit about 750 before its unstable
Other Thoughts: i bought this system for only 575$ on newegg including shipping and tax
E5200 OCed 3.6ghz Biostar P43 TD27 G. Skill DDR 2 800mhz 2x1kit 500gb Seagate Barracuda Cooler Master 590 Rosewill RP500 LiteON cd/dvd burner
a system under 600$ that can handle all the latest games with all the eye candy turned on is simply hard to pass up on.
this card is about just as good as 8800gtx in SLI

Awesome!
Pros: Great mid-high end card for gamers on a budget (for 2008 mind you). Runs fast & quiet.
Cons: This thing is HUGE! It measures 4.25"x1.75"x11"!!! Be careful if you have a smaller case, and make sure you can fit it before you buy it!
Other Thoughts: I'm really pleased with this card. Easy to set up, and works great both in Windows XP and Ubuntu 8.10.

Good, some heat issues.
Pros: Card works great.
Cons: The card overheats when playing certain games. The fan come set at 40% which has been fine for most games, but while playing Crysis it has logged temperatures up to 100 c and will eventually shut-down. Manually increasing the fan speed fixed the problem but is kind of a hassle.
Other Thoughts: Newegg had the card to me in two days - awesome as usual.

More than I expected!
Pros: I purchased this with the expectation of not getting the most out of it at first (as I pln to do a mobo+CPU upgrade soon) due to the rest of my hardware.... nForce 570 SLI chipset mobo and A64 X2 6000+ @ 3.2 GHz. I used my old 9600GT that I upgraded from as a dedicated PhysX unit after installing this card and was literally dumbfounded by the difference.
I used to have to blend high and medium settings with no anti-aliasing, etc. to get a fairly smooth play in Crysis... now I max everything out and it not only looks way better but plays smoother too!
Cons: This thing is huge! I had to reposition my hard drives to accomodate it (and I have a good size case), including some quite literal squeezing of components resultingly.

Fannntastic!
Pros: I wasn't prepared for just how good everything would look after installing this card! Bluerays are amazing in Vista Media Center, heck even SD TV looks better now too.
Gained about 20 FPS in my favorite games at 1680x1050 _maxed_ out; generally play DDO and NFS Undercover lately.. both look great. Haven't had a chance to check out the PhysX capabilities yet but really looking forward to it.
I run two 22" monitors in DualView, with VMC usually on one and whatever I'm working on running on the other. I was concerned that this single card was going to have issues with running hi-qual video and everything else all at the same time.. but it really champs it up.
Cons: None at all.
Other Thoughts: This one GTX 260 replaced my good old 7950GX2! Astounding level of improvement. Surprisingly, alot of odd Vistax86 issues visual bugs that I was suffering went away after ditching the 7950GX2. The GTX260 is a lonnngg card.. a couple inches longer than the 7950GX2 double decker, but I'm housing everything in a Silverstone SST-TJ07-B, so space is no issue at all here.
Just an observation here, the odd angle of the GTX 260 fan vs its body gives the disturbing illusion that the card is dangling low and falling out! But all is well.

Full size!
Pros: Easy to install, runs quiet and fast.
Cons: Size could be an issue.
Other Thoughts: This is what someone born in the 60s would call a full double size card. Back in the old days they used to have little clips in the chassis to hold the far edge. Fortunately it's not so heavy that it minds sitting sideways in the typical tower case.
I'm not quite sure about the power connections, there's a dual 4 pin Molex to 6 pin Y-cable adapter in the package but it seems you need two 6 pin connectors supplying power for this to run. I couldn't get it to work with the normal two Molex on the Y-cable with either of the 6 pin power connectors (yes there are 2 on this card), but by adding another Y-cable I got it to run on those same two Molex.
My old card was a 9800, I just plugged this in and installed new drivers over the old, then played WAR. This is the 5th video card upgrade I've done on this decrepit 925xe chipset and it's surprising how much difference a new video card still makes.

Great Deal
Pros: What a great deal!!! I've been looking for a good deal to replace my 8600GTS and jumped on the MSI which ends up costing me 164 after rebate!!! Card is huge!! Installed it and loaded updated drivers, I couldn't run World of Warcraft at the highest setting with resolution at 1650 x 1050, now I even with all the effects set at MAX I get great framerates. No surprise to anyone but once again Newegg comes thru!!! Buy this card you won't regret it especially for what it sells for on sale!!
Cons: card is really long but fit in my old Antec tower case barely missing the end of one of my hard drives but it did fit
Other Thoughts: Newegg is definitely the #1 dealer for PC parts in my books

Runs great so far
Pros: Runs everything I throw at it on max settings. (Crysis, FC2, Dead Space, Stalker: Clear Sky, L4D, etc.) with simply great FPS and anti-aliasing on at least 4x. Runs cool, fan is fairly quiet, came factory overlcocked and is a cakewalk to push past 700mhz core.
Cons: A little on the big side, had to do a bit of squeezing to fit into my mid-case. However, it wasn't as bad as I expected.
Other Thoughts: Upgraded from an 8800GT to this, and the performance increase is very noticeable. Running at 1440 x 900 with a C2D E8400. Doesn't need that beefy of a PSU; I'm running it great with a 550W Corsair.

Pros: Great so far. I have yet to find an issue with the card.
It does ship at a 620 core which isn't exactly advertised so it comes with roughly a 50mhz overclock on the core.... not ground-breaking, but it does slightly make up for it being a 192 core and not a 216...
It is nice to have it overclocked though and be the cheapest on newegg, beating the eVGA o/c price by a small margin
Cons: Length of card..... if you're looking at buying you should know this already though... you've been warned
Other Thoughts: Q6600 (stock for now) 2x2gb DDR2800 OCZ Gold GTX 260
Amazing little upgrade for my system.... you'd be surprised how powerful this video card is at this price-point

MSI wins a customer
Pros: Very well packaged by MSI, not so much by the egg shippers. Box has all the extras. Came clocked higher than expected (see below). Runs extremely quiet. Absolutely kills my 8800GTS 512.
Cons: Egg: Why put peanuts in the box if you're gonna lay my goods against the bottom? EVERY shipment this year has been that way. Geesh.
Other Thoughts: Heat gets up to 78C, fan spins nominally 40% up to 50%, could use a speed boost to get the core temp down. This card came factory clocked to the following:
Core Clock: 620 Shader Clock: 1296 Memory Clock: 2160 Stream Processors: 192

Powerful card / very efficient
Pros: Very powerful and very power efficient, especially at idle. I went from an ATI HD4850 512 to this card because of the lower power usage at idle. I really only noticed a difference in FPS in Crysis because the 4850 is plenty for every game (even Crysis) out right now, and I game at 1900 x 1200.
Cons: None. Size is not a con, because you should go into buying a card with the foreknowledge of the size anyway.
Other Thoughts: Intel e8400 @ 3.4Ghz CPU (too lazy to increase right now) / 4 gigs of GSkill DDR2 800 ram/ Asus Maximus Formula mobo / Enermax Infiniti 650 PS / Antec P182 case / MSI GTX 260 (@ stock speeds right now)

sweet
Pros: great card for price; runs warhammer, nwn2 on high no problems. will pick up and throw fallout3 and crysis at it, but not expecting any problems
running fine on 500w power supply with 35a on the 12v rail
Cons: will run a little hot, but nothing unexpected or out of the ordinary
Other Thoughts: make sure it will fit in your case haha

Huge Jump
Pros: Originally had a Radeon 1950xt in my system and have since noticed a huge difference in detail & FPS in the games I play, COD4, Witcher, NFS undercover, & CS Source.
Sound and temps played a big factor in my purchase and that is why I chose this over the 4870. I thought this card would be louder then my x1950 but it is whisper quiet compared to that both at idle and load. I couldn't be happier with the sound and temp level.
Running a Q6600 2.4ghz 2 GB of 6400 ddram Windows XP Pro GTX260
This card should last me another 2 years I think.
Cons: Card is quite large if you haven't already noticed. Blocks all but one of my SATA slots and I had to rearrange my hard drive and some cables to fit it in there.
Other Thoughts: I spent a lot of time researching between the GTX260 and the 4870 and finally came to the conclusion both were pretty level as far as performance and it really depended on the games you played. But the reviews with high running temps and the supposed noise levels really turned me off of the ATI cards.
I wasn't sure why it had OC in the name but when I looked into my card clock speeds I saw this.
Stream processor: 192 Graphics clock: 620 Proc clock: 1296 Memory Clock: (2160 data rate)
these are higher then what is stated in the description.

Working awesomely
Pros: Pretty great card, since upgrading from a 3850 AGP. Can play everything I want and then some, especially with the new intel >.>
Cons: Natta
Other Thoughts: Wish I did, I still got the rest of my purchases to review.

Great value
Pros: This is absolutely the sweet spot in price/performance right now. The 4870 with 1GB of RAM is roughly equivalent in performance, but still a bit pricier.
Cons: As said before, this card is long. One more mm and it would not have fit into my Cooler Master Mystique case. Fits fine in the Antec Nine Hundred and Twelve Hundred cases, though.
Other Thoughts: Soooo tempted to grab another for SLI.
Uninstalling old video drivers is a good idea, just don't forget to install new ones for this card.

Low FPS?
Pros: This is a great card for caming. Great price!
Cons: not a full 1gig ram like most others.
Other Thoughts: If your getting low FPS and used to have a 6800 card of anyking you need a new powersupply. 6800 cards are way old and didnt take much juice compaired to todays cards. i would reccomend getting a new powersupply with atleast 650+watts

No Buzzwords
Pros: Whats not to like at this price? Just beware if you are adding this to one of the "major" manufacturer's boxes. Card may be too long - nothing a dremel drill wont fix tho.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: To Buzzwords- Bad units happen- if your tech knowledge is that high, you should know to RMA the card for a new one. It HAS to be the card, right?

after 6 months
Pros: cool, high oc and cheap woa under 200 beans now nice.
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: after reading the newer reviews, i was thrown back to see wowgamer saying he was only getting 14 fps on wow, cant be you must be doing somthing wrong, i have 2 of these cards and i had wow running at over 320 fps in some areas and it never fell under 80fps ever. check your system. or it might be a bum card, and no 2 cards dosnt mean that your fps on anygame will be more. m2n sli delux,9950 phenom oced to 3.0,4 gig of mushskin ram at 4-4-4-10 2.2v, 9800 260x2 oced at 700-2400-1500. bum cards or system dont really deserve a one star, its a defect that can be rectified with a replacement, but really wowgamer check your system for bottlenecks
