Windows XP
Pros: Unbelievable performance. I never dreamed this card would easily outperform my 7950 GX2 on DX9 games. Very impressive performance on my Dell 30" at 2560 x 1600. I have a digital audio workstation based on a commando m/b. Ram is essential for sample-based music, so I loaded it up with 4 GB. I then added the 1GB 7950 GX2 and a smaller 7900 KO 256 to run three monitors. What I didn't realize at the time was that a 32 bit system can only access 4gb of memory, which INCLUDES memory on the video cards. (So that's why windows wouldn't recognize all of my system memory!) I couldn't justify the 1GB GX2 knowing this, so I thought I'd have to compromise gaming performance. The 512mb (two cards soon) was as much as I could give up for video. Haven't tried two cards or crossfire yet. Wanted to try out one card to see if it really "lags in xp". NO WAY!!! Just awesome!
Cons: What? No scantily-clad warrior princess on the shroud?? Whassupwithat??
Other Thoughts: Can't wait to complete changeover to Maximus and crossfire with pcie 2.0.

Good 1080P Card
Pros: Excellent card with the new catalyst drivers catalyst 8.2, this fixes some choppy audio (hdmi) and video with this card. The new drivers also seem to fix the hdtv scaling options where the 1080P television would not display into the entire television. This card has a vista score of 5.9 with the drivers installed. Does not get hot unless well overclocked asus m2npv-vm amd 5000+ black 2 gigs kinston raptor drive and wd rd 4000 drive This card fits into a single slot which is nice when you have an HTPC. extreme audio card
Cons: non to think of when the newest drivers are installed.
Other Thoughts: good card this card rivals more expensive ones.

Great Card
Pros: Runs games great! Not too much into high end gaming, but it runs Oblivion and Titan quest and most likely all games over 2 years old flawlessly 60fps+ at all times.
Works wonders and will keep me playing games for a few years without problems hopefully.
Great card for a great price.
Cons: Probably can't run Crysis well on it's own, but what graphic card can.
Other Thoughts: Not for your normal run of the mill computer upgrade, had to get a new PSU with this one as well, as well as another gig of RAM.

Cool upgrade Card
Pros: Plays Crysis at on all high with 30fps no action, and about 15fps when your in a good fight, and about 7fps when you get into a ambush. Best card to get if you have a 1080x1024 and dont want to spend over 160 dollars.
Cons: Doesnt come with 6pin PCI-e power connector so i had to buy a supply with one.
Other Thoughts: If you plan on playing future games.. Go for the Geforce 8800gt series or higher, or the 3870 x2. Cause this is a teaser at heart. Gives you a glimpse of the good high setting life. BUt runs like trash when u want to really play smoothly

Cons: card is long. hits the back of my drives. had to move them so no problem though if i had more then 1 HHD id be in trouble

Pros: Plays everything I usually play on high, like Flight Sim X, DoWDC, Galaxies, EVE, WiC. I couldn't be happier. System: AMD Athlon X2 4400+, 2GB Wintec Ampx, WinXp Pro
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: UPS decided that the box needed to be crushed, almost destroyed the card. It was a miracle it was in one piece, the box was so badly smashed that the packing foam was falling out everywhere. UPS guy knocked and ran lol.

good OCer
Pros: Was about $1x cheaper then other 3850s and OCed to 780/1044 out of the box with fan@100%. The MEM is the highest I've seen for a 3850. With a Vmod to 1.3v it does 840/1044,I'm impressed.
Cons: Idle temps are crazy high around 80c because the fan speen is set to 25%. I don't know why they would ever set it that low when 50% is still very quiet and offers temps in the 50s.
Other Thoughts: It's almost a OEM package but it comes with everything most users need. If you need other adapters/software then get a different card that list them in the add. You can see what it comes with so don't complain when thats all you get.

2nd time's a charm?
Pros: Runs your games very well. I play COD4 and TF2 at full settings and 4-8x AA and 8xAF @ 1280x1024. Overall satisfied with my purchase.
Cons: First card came DOA, wouldn't post. second one locked up on me a few times with stock cooling. very hot, very big card.
Other Thoughts: I would recomend better cooling, I put a zalman vf900 on it and it has given me no problems.
Also texts have been actin weird in xp. some will appear red instead of blue like on the welcome screen or on web pages like a google search.

Excellent Video Card
Pros: The performance of this card rivals cards twice the cost, the HD 3850 is really the sweet spot right now for price/performance.
I'm playing games @ 1280x1024, with all the graphics settings on maximum, and games are running at 30-60 FPS, depending on the game.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: It runs cool for a video card, and the fan is quiet as well.

Pros: Great GPU for the price. CODECs work flawlessly so far. I have it set up in PCI-E 2.0 slot on mobo.
Cons: Board is too long. It interfers with my harddrive's data and power connectors. This board has rendered 2 internal HD bays unusable.
Other Thoughts: Great board. Heat is not a problem so far. The length of the board needs to be shortened by 1-inch or so.

This card is a beast
Pros: This card is very good..i have it connected to a samsung LCD runing at 1920x1080 and it's beautiful...i dried running gears of war at the same res...and it runs well except for a few frame rate drop every few minutes.. drop it down to 1280 x 720 and it was smooth..
Cons: Kinda big....the box did not include the power connector...
Other Thoughts: upgraded from a Nvidia 8600GT...best thing i ever did..

Good card for the money
Pros: Runs cool, overclocked well (about 23% over stock settings!), no noticeable noise.
Cons: Should have been a 2 slot for better cooling, but does good as is.
Other Thoughts: Biostar TA770, AMD 5000+ Black (running at 3.2ghz), 4gb A-Data DDR2 800 4-4-4-12-2t, ATI 3850, Vista 64

A Good Buy for the Price
Pros: I used this piece in the making of my first computer. At the time I bought it, it was the fastest Video Card for the price (faster and cheaper than the 8600)
Cons: You get what you pay for. I wish I had more money to buy something faster but right now the HD 3850 is sufficient.
Other Thoughts: The List for speed and cost for video cards is as follows: 8800 Very Pricey HD 3880 Somewhat Pricey HD 3850 Relatively Cheap and 8600 Pricey and slower than the 3850

Pros: good card for the money around one sixty, plays the games i want to (crysis)(oblivion goty)(witcher) at good framerates that i am happy with.
Cons: none really.
Other Thoughts: a good card for a reasonable amount of money, i didn't want to spend as much or more on a video card as a console costs these days, pc gaming is not good enough an experience that it necessitates spending all that money.

Great bang for buck
Pros: Great picture quality. Quiet. Runs cool. FAST. Almost as fast as my 8800GT. No kidding! TDU plays 40/60 FPS all high@ 1280X1024. NFS Prostreet is this same mabe a little less. Absolutely a great deal. This was for my 4 year old who loves car games. The old socket A and 850XTPE agp setup did not cut it anymore. Very pleased with this purchase.
Cons: Dual slot cooler? Although I have noticed that the fan does not run at all on idle. I have a very well ventilated Coolermaster case and the ambient room temp has been low at 72 degrees. It does kick on but strangly during a 3d06 benchmark it may not kick on. Temps stay low/ card is cool to touch and that with a major overclock.
Other Thoughts: AMD 939@ 2.5, 1gigDDR400 ram @ 228 2.5 3 3 6, this card overclocked @ 730/1049 scores a 9046 on Futermark 3D06. My 939@2.9 2gigs ramDDR500 @ 228 2 3 2 5 w/8800Gt scores 10665.

Pros: Incredible card, runs all my games at max settings on 1680 x 1050, while still maintaining a good temperature. No complaints, just an overall great performer.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: Runs everything at max

Couldn't be much worse
Pros: None that I could speak of. I either received a bad card or its one of the worst video cards on market.
Cons: Where should I start. First off the card runs hotter than an electric heater. It would constantly freeze up while playing Crysis. When it did play Crysis there was flashing at some points and some of the wreckage that was supposed to be on fire did not show any fire. I tried overclocking with Ati catylyst and computer would just lock up. It is not my computer. After this happened I decided to fork over the cash and got a BFG 8800gt. It runs smooth and I'm so glad I spent the extra cash. Remember you get what you pay for.

poor packaging
Pros: cheaper then the other 3850s bay a few bucks. works and benches where it should, can't complain about that.
Cons: Very poorly packaged[on VisionTek's part] I thought with just a single sheet of bubble wrap flipped over it and not even tapped. The card was just laying in the box when I opened it. not a huge deal but seemed like a oped box item not retail packaging.
Other Thoughts: It's a ref. card with ref. HSF not much to say.

Pretty good card.
Pros: Price, features and price to performance.
Cons: only 256 memory, stock cooler.
Other Thoughts: Great card for the price but.. for the current price you might as well save a little more for the 512 version and if you are saving for the 512 version you may as well save a little more and get the 3870. The 256 Memory isn't really that bad for me since I'm on an older lcd that is capped at 1280x1024 and thats about this cards sweet spot anyways. (Crysis DX9 mix of med-high avg 35-40 fps @ 1280x1024)
The stock cooler isn't bad but it does let the card run a little warm (55c idle - 70c load) I installed a Item#:N82E16835226018 dropped the temps to 35c idle - 55-60c load and is much quieter.

Don't forget the power cord
Pros: Great card runs good
Cons: Does not come with a y cable to connect it to the power supply. You need to buy it seperatly. Only a 3 dollar part but rather furstrating when you cannot boot you computer because you cannot power up the Vid card.
Other Thoughts: They should mention the power cord issue. I live in a fairly small town and noone in town had it. Checked the net and most online dealers carry it.

Great
Pros: Excellent cards! Runs Crysis, Bioshock, Stranglehold, Jericho all without problems. Using 7.12 driver and all games run fast, stable, and without any problems.
Cons: Price is high, check BB for cheaper price.
Non refundable policy: No thanks, that is why i brought it else where.
Other Thoughts: Great card, but check price else where before buying!

Cons: Price is high, brought else where for cheaper, and saved $30.00!
Other Thoughts: None

Great card for the price, ATi back in the game.
Pros: Great card for the price, Has no problem playing all the new games on max or near to max settings. Also works great for my dual monitor setup, as well as Vista Ultimate 64bit. Works great in my BTX case as well. The hot air vents straight out the back and has air from the front intake fan blowing on it as well. Stays nice and cool.
Cons: No problems as of yet. Works 100%.
Other Thoughts: Great card for the price, no complaints. Running dual monitors one 20" and one 19", My system is a Athlon X2 64 5600+, 4GB ram, with a 470w PSU running Vista Ultimate 64bit and this card. C&C3 plays with max settings, UT3 with max settings, Bioshock with max settings and DX10 turned on, Half life 2 Lost Coast Video stress test on max settings runs at 75FPS, Crysis at 1400x1050 with medium settings I get about 30-45FPS, this was an exelent upgrade from my old x1300. and well worth the price.

price gouging continues
Pros: A very good card for the money. Playing all the current titles at decent FPS
Cons: Newegg's price was substantially more, so i bought it some place else.
Other Thoughts: Shop around, seems Newegg thinks these things are made of gold, they can be had for twenty less elsewhere.

Alot better than expected
Pros: HIGH performance, CHEAP, low fan noise, and it is the best card so far below 200$. I couldnt imagine that I will play many games at very high/ultra settings. Company of heroes (1280x1024, 4AA, everything ultra/high), UT3 (1440*900 max settings)...etc I have AMD 64x2 5200+ and 3GB 640 RAM Maybe my PC helped too. But my friends have 2900 XT, 7900GT, and 7800 GT. The performance is diffenitly above Nvidia 7 series. And everything on the same settings as 2900 XT (he dont use AA, but also his PC spec is lower than mine)
Cons: Maybe a little bit large (but all of them are), didnt come with power connector (my power 500W Cooler master extreme had one) so if your power didnt have one try to buy a card that has it.
Other Thoughts: For me, I dont care about very tiny details in the game (so I dont need Cross-fire/SLI, nor high spec card 8800GT/ULTRA), so, this was the ultimate choice for me and it is CHEAP. If you have extra money buy the 3870 card.

Good STuf
Pros: Quiet, Good Looking, Cheap. Free halflife2 lost coast and deathmatch.
Cons: Kind of limited bundle.
Other Thoughts: I've got it running with an Xclio 450watt. I bet I could run two with this PSU. Reviews show total system consumption at about 300 watts (105 watt card). My system uses about 210 under load. Athlon x2, 2 gig ram 3 hdd.

NICE!!!
Pros: This card is fast and totally worth the money. hdmi and hd component adapters included.
Cons: if you don't have a power supply with a 6-pin adapter, this card not come with one.
Other Thoughts: this card is pretty large compared to my older 6600, it ran practically the entire width of my dfi motherboard.

Awesome ON THE CHEAP
Pros: Performance of a 8800 series card for almost half the price
Cons: Drivers are a bit... MEH But they can be improved.
Didnt include 2 molex to 1 6-pin pci-e connector No problem though, I bought a staXXXch one for a few dollars.
Other Thoughts: Installed this with a amd x2 3800+ clocked to 2.5ghz, 1.5 gigs of ram 400 gigs of hd space and a biostar nvidia based mother bored.

WOW is about it
Pros: very impressive card, the Heat sink on the card is solid copper and quite large good quality as well. Proformance is just kick ****,UT3 max settings 1600x1200 no heekups, haven't had much time to play games so no more on those. The video decoders work very well and image quality is awesome.
Cons: the extras that come with this card are nill and there is no molex to pcie adapter included so watch out. you'll be out to find one if you don't have the right psu. the heat sink is good but it still could use a larger one. also the drivers are still a work in progress, rock stable no crashes, but little tweaks for duel screen such need some work. i am nitpicking on this really.
Other Thoughts: it was the only one in stock when i ordered it but i am pleasantly satisfied would recommend and did roommate got one right i ordered mine he is quite happy as well

WOW
Pros: ET:QW and COD4 look amazing @ 1280 x 1024. For the price, this can't be beat.
Cons: ATI's drivers.
Other Thoughts: Someone gave this thing 3 eggs because they weren't smart enough to check out the bundle first, wow... Although not pictured, it comes with DVI to VGA adapter, S-video cable, and driver disk.

Does not come with 4 pin to 6 pin cable
Pros: Read Below
Cons: Was so excited to get this card until I opened it to find no PCI-E 6-Pin to 4 Pin Molex cable. I can't believe a company would do that to save $2-4. So now gotta order the cable since no local shop sells it.
Other Thoughts: Wish box or info would state that it does not come with cable.

GPU frequency
Pros: This actually a correction to the misinformation shared previously. The HD3850 and HD3870 are designed to run at 300MHz while in a 2D setting and jump to normal or specified overclocks when 3D games start. Dropping to 300MHz is a feature to reduce power consumption just like Cool n Quiet for AMD cpus.
Cons: NONE. This is the best available card for the money at the moment. Still holding out 'til after Christmas to see the prices on these things drop.
Other Thoughts: Please post this as I'd hate for people to disable a feature that makes their computers cooler, quieter and their card last longer.

Had to RMA
Pros: Cheap price, nVidia doens't have anything in the price range that can compete with it.
Cons: Price of these are going up and they're quickly losing their price/performance ratio. Something strange happened to mine. I was running 3dMark06, not even having overclocked yet. The first graphics test completed successfully, then the screen went black as it should inbetween tests while loading the second one. The screen remained black and the card will not output a digital signal anymore over a DVI cable. I have to use a VGA cable and view it as analog which is quite blurry. I've tested the monitor and DVI cable with a spare 8600GT that works fine.
Other Thoughts: AMD/ATI support is horrible, I registered the product and got one automated email. It told me to respond if it didn't solve my issue. I did, and haven't heard back in about 9 days now.

GREAT CARD...but check clock settings!
Pros: Performs greats once I got it up and running. Before this card I was playing supreme commander on an overclocked 8600GT with low settings at 1680x1050... and it was choppy in heavy battles. Now, i have everything turned up to the max (except AA) and my frame rate almost never drops below 20fps during intense scenes. most of the time, i get frame rates between 30 and 45 fps... i love this card!
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: I was extremely disappointed in this cards performance when I first got it. Performance was even worse than my old card and I was getting less than 5fps. I knew something had to be wrong so I went into ati's catalyst control center and sure enough, the card GPU was clocked at 300MHz. I used the utility to overclock the GPU to 725MHz and the memory to 1100MHz. Control Center actually determined I could go a little higher, but I have a SFF pc and I didn't want to push things.

Excellent Card
Pros: Cheap, Runs cool, Excellent FPS
Cons: Long
Other Thoughts: Stacked two of these into an X38 motherboard with a q6600 and 4gb ddr2 800. EVE-Online is flawless even in 20 ship pvp battles. BF2 is amazing! Everything is turned up and it just won't slow down. I've also tested WoW and a few other games. The somewhat older stuff I play is like butter. With a newer game the detail needs to be turned down, but not that much. Well worth the purchase. Has not given me one single problem. Kudos to newegg for keeping the price at MSRP and shipping it so darn fast!
