Pros: Absolute best value card out there on the market. This card is cheap, and will hold you down in most games.
I was getting 16-30 fps in CRYSIS on medium settings, and 1650x1850.
The only thing that hurts it is the 128bit memory. However it is more than adequate for this mid range card.
If you are low on money, and want the most performance you can get. This is the card for you.
Cons: Heatsink is GARBAGE on this thing. it was so hot to the touch that it would sing my finger. over 90c at times, which is just unacceptable.
Had to get a third party cooler to solve the issue. I installed a ZALMAN VF700 and all the problems were solved.
Other Thoughts: My machine was a Intel core 2 duo alldendale 2mb cache, 2gb ddr2 memory, and a sata 2 16mb cache 320gb machine.
This graphics card carried me well over a year and i suggest you buy it if money is what your looking to save, but want to get the most performance you can possibly get.

Good Card
Pros: Very nice card. I've had it for about 10 months now and I haven't had any problems with it.
Never had to overclock it because I'm not extremely picky with regards to playing games on max settings, but this card WILL play cod4, bioshock and a few others on max.
Crysis runs at mid settings with stock clock rate and cooling.
Cons: Got a little choppy with Oblivion, but that could also have something to do with the fact that I hadn't overclocked my e6320 yet.
Other Thoughts: I am upgrading to a 9800GTX, but I will definitely miss this card. Selling it for $50 bucks to a buddy of mine who needs a new card.

great buy
Pros: great card... I have had it a while now and I have not had any problems with this card. I have had it overclocked to 720 and under a heavy load it doesn't get over 60. Frame rates are pretty good too. Runs perfect maxed out on cod4 bioshock, source games, GoW; all @ 1680x1050. Crysis at med runs well @ sam res. And gtaiv at 1280ish (uses a lot of vid mem). gonna grab another for sli when price drops
Cons: Runs hot but that's normal for the 8 series . Still pricey for 8600
Other Thoughts: E6750, 2x2gb gskil 4-4-4-12 800hz, xfx 680i lt, cooler master 830. Didn't buy mine directly through newegg

Works great
Pros: Works as advertised
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: I have been involved with computers for 10 years (software development) and I have always wanted to build my own machine. I finally bit the bullet and used newegg reviews as my sole source of information and ended up with what I feel is an excellent machine for the price and it was a blast to build

Great card for the price
Pros: I've had this card now for a little under a year, and I must say that I'm very happy with it. For those that can't quite afford the 8800, this card packs a powerful punch that'll get you through games with no problems and keep you up to date for future games as well.
Cons: The card runs a little hotter than I'd like, but I was able to counter that with some Arctic Silver and more cooling in my case.
Other Thoughts: I would absolutely recommend this card to anyone looking for a card. And EVGA is a very reliable company.

Yup, Love it.
Pros: Like the reviews say, great card. I swapped from my ATI all in wonder 9200, okay quit laughing, im married okay. Playing WoW on max is a new experience. Also, currently playing Doom3 (too cheap to buy new games). Anyway CoD4 rocks on max.
Cons: The really great customer service alone with the EVGA step up program. Not a Con at all, just thought I'd write something here. Really, I love EVGA and recommend them to anyone. Their warrenty system rocks.
Other Thoughts: Wish I could do SLI in my QPACK2 Cube, but hey I can't have everything.........when I'm married, LOL.
Should have married a gamer girl :D

Don't Let Apperance Fool You
Pros: Don't take this card lightly by any means, it may look like a wimpy card, but Hooo boy it packs a punch, Crysis stays at around 32-34 FPS on high settings with 1080x1680, only takes up 1 slot instead of 2, leaving room for other PCI items. I run vista ultimate 32bit with it for about a year, and everything's runnin just fine.
Cons: what cons?
Other Thoughts: Kinda weird that it has a molex connector instead of a 6 pin, but Ive heard people say that that has changed, im not sure, i bought this card at least a year ago so I cant verify the rumors. - and I <3 EVGA!

Cheap and Good Vid Card!!!!
Pros: Exactly what I need and not too expensive!!! Plays Halo 2 perfect no lag what so ever. Got Vista rating 5.9 on graphics and a 5.6 on gaming graphics. This card is perfect for the games I play and thats because I'm not a big hard core gamer.
Cons: I love buying all my stuff from newegg.com but I got this card from another site for less. Sorry newegg!!!
Other Thoughts: None

Pros: Good specs. and nice price. But I guess you get what you pay for.
Cons: Card lasted 1 hour, ran very hot and a chip on the backside of the board near the power plug went up in smoke. No alarms went off or anything prior to melt down.
Other Thoughts: None

Pros: Great price, decent performance. I have 2 of the in SLI mode, works great in both Linux and XP. Vista not so much.
Cons: None really, other than Vista only bring able to use 1 GPU, but I doubt that's a problem with the card

Awsome Card
Pros: Most games run great on full settings at 1440x900, but some even run great at 1680X1050. Vista gave it a 5.9 on Graphics and 5.6 on Gaming Graphics. PLays Hitman Blood Money, Kane & Lynch, and Assassains Creed Great.
Cons: The Sims 2 plays great, but doesn't seem to be very smooth when moving the camera angle, but I don't mind. Also, in Windows Update in Vista, it had a newer driver, but after I restarted, the system would freeze often, even while idle.
Other Thoughts: Becareful about updating the driver in Vista. I love this card compared to my old Radeon 1650.

GeForce 8600 GTS
Pros: Good video, good costumer service
Cons: Make sure you register it online or you void your lifetime warranty
Other Thoughts: There are 2 versions of this card being sold. The v1.0 has the 6 pin power connector and the v1.2 has the standard 4 pin. I have 2 of the v1.0's and one v1.2. Currently the v1.2 is in the mail to EVGA for warranty replacement. Not sure what is wrong with it, but causes memory dumps and BCD's. I am not sure for SLI purposes if you have to have 2 of v1.0 or 2 of v1.2. I will test when I get my v1.2 back.

Great Video Card!
Pros: I like to play allot of Call of Duty 4, the graphic are excellant. I don't over clock it and find the card to work weel for my needs.
Cons: The Reabte check is slower then the goverment rebate check. Last time I checked it's status it said something about, did not recieve it in time. Just make sure you read it carefully before buying.

Pros: Solid performance for the price, and only takes up a single slot. There was no hassle on switching this card in place of another one.
Cons: I received the same model as listed, but it now uses a 6 pin connector instead of a 4 pin connector as listed. Not a big deal though, it has the adapter to turn two four pin connectors (which I have plenty of) into a single 6 pin connector. Please update the displayed information.
Other Thoughts: I ordered this on Tuesday with 2nd day air and got it at 12 on Wednesday. Thank you new egg and UPS!

Newegg specs are wrong.
Pros: Great card for a semi-extreme gamer in SLI.
Cons: No composite output like the newegg spec sheet says.(i have an old tv) Newegg please change this.
Other Thoughts: Bought this card for a new build when I didn't play too many pc games, but now i am a pc game maniac and wish I went with a higher model.

Good card
Pros: Great card. Playing Crysis on default settings with E8400 OEM with a Thermaltake CL-P0372 cooler, 2 gigs of Crucial Ballistix DDR2 800, Antec 900 all fans on low, Gigabyte GA-EP35C-DS3R, Seagate 250 SATA 16 mb cache, Vista Home Premium SP1, nothing overclocked. Everything default stock. No hiccups. Runs at about 53 C. Running at about 40 C when playing Crysis. Processor cooler turns at about 800 rpm.
Cons: I should have waited for the 8800GT to come down. I can get it for less than what I paid for the 8600GTS. No cons on the card itself.
Other Thoughts: Good card. Get it if you don't want to spend a bunch of money.

Great Video Card
Pros: This is a great card, performs well, and is well worth the money. I have yet to encounter a game that I cannot play in "high" settings. Now I just to buy another to SLI them.! I bought this to anchor my new system.
Cons: The price dropped right I bought it...but who cares!

Great vid card
Pros: Works great. Graphics are extremely impressive. DVD-playback, streaming video, and games all are crisp and smooth. 1000-fold improvement of MOBO graphics.
Cons: None so far
Other Thoughts: I bought this card (along with 2gb ram) so that I could play COD4 and I wasn't dissapointed. The card works as promised and I couldn't be happier.

Only Evga for me
Pros: It's an EVGA
Cons: This thing is a power hog compared to the other 8600GTS listed for EVGA. You need a 400 Watt P/S with 26amps. Should have gotten a a different GTS or a 9600.
Other Thoughts: Ended up picking up a Corsair P/S to go with it.

Trust EVGA
Pros: Very reliable and powerful. Was cheap when I bought it. It was perfect for the computer I was building for audio production. I was looking for something cheap and reliable but something that would be able to play Source games with on the side.
Cons: Just a little pricey right now. Runs a bit hot.
Other Thoughts: EVGA was excellent about the rebate. Checked a few weeks after submitting and found that my status was invalid. I contacted them and had the check in my hand shortly after that, unlike the other companies that I am still waiting for rebates from and getting very frustrated with. Will definitely continue my business with EVGA for future purchases.

evga 8600gts
Pros: Good midrange card, excellent warranty, bought this card about 10 to 11 months ago when come out on market. I wanted the 8800 320 at the time, next step up but another 80 dollars. NO real big complaints been working good for me. Im not a big gamer but play Aces High when i have time...huge difference to the better from what i had before..but then the other computer was 5 years old to.
Cons: Runs abit warm, i installed riva tuner run the fan at 75 percent. I have another case fan coming from newegg now. temps I run now are about 55C
Other Thoughts: The newer cards are out 9600 and 9800, prices are coming down on the 8800, I would consider one of those cards before this one..as always what you buy today is outdated in another year, be sure to get 512 mg DFI LanParty UT NF590 SLI-M2R/G Motherboard AMd 5600 8600GTS 2GIG RAM OCZ 2 samsung dvd SATA 320 SATA HD minityphoon CPU cooler coolermaster case

Cons: None that i can think of. Not an 8800?
Other Thoughts: Very good product that i bought

eVGa 8600 GTS 512mb GDDR3
Pros: Plays Overlord, HL2 on highest possible settings
CAN PLAY CRYSIS on HIGH settings but with a 10-15 frame per second, with overclocked. But crysis needs more than your vid card.
runs quiet and cool when your not doing graphic intensive things. Crysis makes the card loud (fan always has to be on) and heats up to about 60C.
Cons: fan is pretty loud when cranked up to 100 %
Other Thoughts: if you can save up for the 8800's...do it...but if you are impulse purchasing because of the sweet price....go for it. I impulse purchased and am completely satisfied with my decision.

Excellent Card For Last Year
Pros: I have 2 of these in SLI format. These cards can play any game that is out, many on high settings. Despite all the cons you will read below, I still love the cards, and will be happy with them for well over another year. They are good on a budget, don't require a massive PSU, and have a clean, professional look, especially in SLI.
Cons: They are hot in SLI. I have seen them up to 84C during gaming, and idle over 60C. I would assume this would limit the overclocking ability greatly. Also, they use a 4pin molex for power where I would rather use 6pin PCIE, which have dedicated rails on some PSU's. Lastly, the price is no longer competative. Cannot compare to the newer cards that run at the same price.
Other Thoughts: At the time of this writing, I would recommend that you not buy this card becasue of the price. If it were in the sub $100, it would be worth it, but not at this price.

Do the math
Pros: 2000mhz memory speed is still awesome considering this card is a year old now,as is the 675mhz core speed. This is still a decent card and I am keeping mine as a backup even though I have a 9600GT now.
Cons: 8600gts cannot begin to match equally priced 8800gs or 9600gt, no matter how far you push it.
Other Thoughts: This should be a sub-100 dollar card these days.

Gaming Goodness
Pros: This card is excellent for those cash strapped who are looking to play most games at high settings while waiting for some of the 8 series to come down to a more reasonable price. It does run hot so make sure you have plenty of cooling on the card, more so if you are running SLI. Also download a tuner because the cards fan begins at 30% cap and you will want to put it to at least 80 % cap.
Cons: Went online to print off the rebate and Newegg had changed the dates so I ended up paying full price for this card. Make sure that the day you order the card is the day you also print off the rebate page or you'll get blah.
Other Thoughts: ASUS M2N32-SLI Deluxe Wireless Edition AM2 NVIDIA nForce 590 SLI - AMD Athlon 64 X2 5600+ Windsor 2.8GHz Socket AM2 89W Dual-Core - CORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel - EVGA 512-P2-N773-AR GeForce 8600GTS 512MB 128-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP Ready SLI - PC Power & Cooling S610EPS EPS12V 610W Continuous @ 40°C Power Supply

Good card for the price
Pros: Great card for the price. Maxes settings on most games with a single card.
Cons: First one of DOA. Second one worked perfectly.
Other Thoughts: I plan on purchasing a second for SLI soon.

EVGA
Pros: FSX ***** EVGA is the standard from which all video cards are measured.
Cons: It was not free...

Nice Card
Pros: This card gets it done - it's somewhere between a low/mid range card, however - never think otherwise.
Cons: The CD that came with it seemed to just want to lock up my system - not sure why - just bypassed it and downloaded off the main EVGA website.
Other Thoughts: Really, I was doing a completely rebuild of a 4yo NF7S based system - only re-using a couple SATA drives+case+PSU. By my review, my PSU was good enough for an 8600 - possibly an 8800 but opted to not stress things. In hindsight, perhaps I should have just bought another PSU & the 8800 and just used the PSU elsewhere for a lower-end build.

Great card so far
Pros: It runs all of the high end games at max resolution, not flawlessly though. Runs awesome at 1280 by 1024 resolution.
Cons: There is a little bit of lag when running CoD4 at 1680 by 1050 with all the other settings maxed out. That was a little disappointing for me. I would think my computer is good enough to run anything at max settings. This is only my second computer I have built so maybe I'm wrong.
Other Thoughts: My computer has a Gigabyte mobo with 1330/1066MHz fsb, Intel Core 2 duo E6850 3.0GHz cpu, 4GB G.Skill DDR2 800 (3.5g recognized by windows xp 32bit), Seagate Barracuda 160g Sata 3.0gb/s 8mb cache, 600w Rosewill ps and a 22in wide screen Dell monitor. This information should help the advanced builders at why my stuff lags at max resolutions. My internet connection is 6mb also if that helps.

Burnt alive
Pros: Not an expert in this category, it only worked for an hour with me
Cons: Only worked for an hour
Other Thoughts: Worked for an hour, then stopped. Since i took the sticker off on the top of the card, nothing could be done about it. Stuck with a 150 dollar peice of plastic and metal.. sigh
If you smell burning... take it out and RMA dont fiddle with it

Great Video
Pros: I bought this card to run under Vista on a small form factor configuration. EVGA uses a smaller heat sink that competitors and the 8600 is a single slot card unlike the 8800 so it fits in tight spaces very well. This card is DirectX 10 compatible and Vista automatically detected and loaded the drivers from windows update.
Cons: Some high end gamers might still want 8800 or 9000 series performance.
Other Thoughts: This card is supposed to be HDCP compatible and so far I am not completely sure of this. On a side note, Vista flagged a DRM error when I tried to play a retail DVD of the movie "Click". No other movies had any problems. Vista does end to end DRM involving your optical device, your video card, and your monitor in many cases.

'Static' corruption and screen flashing
Pros: Ran Half Life 2 and FEAR at max settings great. Ran Bioshock, Oblivion and Crysis with a lot of the settings on high. Did not overclock card. I like the Nvidia control panel a lot more than ATI.
Cons: After about 2 or 3 months many games would get artifacts that looked like static, would get worse, then screen would start flashing. After reboot would be OK for a while. Returned to EVGA for replacement.
Ran a lot hotter (67) than my new 8800GTS.
Other Thoughts: EVGA was great to deal with, quickly and easily replaced card. Didn't realize there is a lifetime warranty if you register and even a 1 year if you don't. Thought they would send a refurb card, but is was brand new, in the package.
Too impatient to wait for replacement so got BFG 512 8800GTS and it's great.

Does it all for me
Pros: Greatg card for typical games and video work. I have no complaints!
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: I got this card for video editing and to impress my teenagers with a better computer than theirs....They wish they could use it now!

It's beautiful
Pros: This card is great, I got it a few days ago and have been testing its limits. Everything I've thrown at it so far runs perfectly on Maximum. F.E.A.R., COD4, NFS:Carbon, all of it runs great.
Cons: Overclocking to more than about 720Mhz kills the graphics, and I had to restart the computer. Also it runs fairly hot, about 70-85º C when I play games and about 65º C just idling (this is with the side of the case off). I reccomend getting a cooling system for this.
Other Thoughts: I love it.

Pros: Great card with a good price. Replaced my old ATI AGP card and couldn't be more happy.
Cons: Not really a con, but it has a 4 pin molex connector. I knew before hand, so I ordered a sata adapter.
Other Thoughts: Received an email confirming the rebate 1 week after it was mailed. Much better than most.

Big bangs for little $$$
Pros: Just an overall great card for the cash. went in easy and the only problems I had was getting the ati drivers of my machine but EVGA tech support hooked me up with a great program that will suck ATI files right of your cpu like a... well anyway. good card, great support, and low dollers.
5 stars
p.s. cjane at evga needs a raise
Cons: I've only had it a month so far and everything is running smooth with no probs with med/high settings.
Oh I have it running on Win XP so no directX 10 *cries* *sniffle*
Other Thoughts: Games I play include: Battlefield 2142,Neverwinter Nights 1&2,AvP,Lost planet, and hellgate: London
Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3500+, MMX, 3DNow, ~2.2GHz Memory: 2048MB RAM Hard Drive: 164 GB Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GTS all running on winXP

Great Card
Pros: Great card. Plays all the games I want the way I want. Blows me away. Easy to install. Only takes up one slot. Price was right.
Cons: I was worried about the fan sound but it really is much more quiet than my last card.
Other Thoughts: I thought this was a great deal but (of course) 6 months later with the prices dropping I am wishing I bought the 8800 GTS instead. But that always happens.

WOW
Pros: Great board for the $$$. The mail in rebate made this a good buy. I played GRAW with all settings pretty high. Everything except AA. Played flawlessly!! I guess you also have to take the rest of your system into consideration. I was happy with the card.
Cons: None

Not bad
Pros: It's a good card ( not a super card ) noticable differents in games ( like F.E.A.R., DOOM ,quake , and Half life 2.). Ive upgrade to this from a weak radeon x800. Card doesn't rock oblivion, its on high settings but with the cost of FPS( same said for bioshock)
Cons: The 128 bit kinda bottle necks it abit. When you buy this card make sure you got a good cooling system becease I have my Computer side case off just to keep to at a decent tem, It can over heat easy.
Other Thoughts: Overall Good card to get for the price if your on a budget (who isnt theses days, right?). Had a few Driver "epoisdes"

It's Decent.
Pros: Decent card, plays Company of Heroes and TF2 with ease. Newegg is awesome!
Cons: Shortly after I purchased, 9600s were coming out with 1gb of DDR3 and PCI-Express 2.0, for about the same price, oh well.

Pros: This card handles just about anything you throw at it, and i have thrown games at it too, trust me. It handles video nicely, and does well at the resolution i set it to. the refresh rate is pretty good too.
Cons: Is NOT a super-gaming card, and high-intensity uber-pretty games will lagg noticeably.
Other Thoughts: i am looking into putting a second one in SLI with the first, and ill be sure to tack that on when i get it. until then, its a great card for the price, and works great.

Pros: Nice card, well built, good performance for mid-range games and multimedia. Probably not what you need if you are trying to blaze on the newest graphic intensive FPS. Also, if you are looking for a card to do CAD, you need a real open GL card.
Cons: The CD would not install the drivers for this card in WIN XP Pro 64 bit. This was easy enought to fix by downloading the driver from the EVGA website.

not so great for my mobo
Pros: HD capability really makes my HD 22" LCD screen look awesome. If your monitor has DVI capability you should def go for the HDCP cards! The graphics for the card is also great!
Cons: When playing UT3 on high settings it looks awesome but the sound starts to go in and out after about 20 minutes due to over heating. I have to take off side panel of box to allow for better cooling.
Other Thoughts: Make sure your power supply is at least 400W and think about having at least one of the pci slots next to this card open to allow better cooling. Fan on card just isn’t enough for me.

Awesome Purchase
Pros: I purchased this card to upgrade on-board video on a recent system I put together. Most of the my 3d apps are for mapping purposes and aren't that 'intense' to the video. I also use MS Flight Sim X (and 2004) for training purposes. This card handled everything I tossed its way so far in that realm. Flight Sim X is a demanding application but this has been able to take it all.
Cons: Nothing I've found yet that would ruin your day.
Other Thoughts: Good compromise between a budget card and a top-end (and much more expensive) speed machine. This card is definitely more on the high end.

WoW ...
Pros: Having two of these in an SLI rig is flat out awesome. I have World of Warcraft ( WoW ) running an average of 150+ fps with everything maxed. Highly recommended....
Cons: Seem to run a little warmer than I'm used to. By removing the blanks in the rear of case and adding a case fan drasticlly helps the temps... ( almost 20 degrees !! )
Other Thoughts: Updated drivers from Nvidia are recommended, as with any graphics card purchase. Has OC tools, but really doubt you'll need it, just a couple awesome cards. Current setup : Asus M2N-SLI , AMD X2 6400+, twin 8600GTS, 4 Gig Dominator DDR 800, X-FI Fatal1ty Pro, Windows XP Pro ( for now )

A good mainstream card
Pros: Small, performs very well for the pricepoint. not that noisy. can overclock it.
Cons: one of the dvi connectors stoped working on my card, so minus 1 star for that.
Other Thoughts: other then the single dvi connector craping out on me, (i dont have 2 monitors so doesnt bother me) its been a greate card. runs everything decently. i upgraded my card so this one went to another pc, still running strong and plays all the games a exeptable fps.

EVGA 512-P2-N773 Graphics card review
Pros: This graphics card will handle what you can throw at it. Bought 2 for gaming pc's before Christmas 2007 and they have performed VERY well. Easy setup with MS Win XP SP/2. Many tweaks along the way. So far all games have performed beyond expectations with this card. Highly praised by my customers. EVGA is a company you can trust to provide quality, service AND warranty. Bought from Newegg.
Cons: None after 4+ months of ownership.
Other Thoughts: Rosewill case, Rosewill RD550N-2DB-SL-BK power supply (and by the way, the power supply after 4 months is still running 99.9% right on the money), Corsair and OCZ 2gb PC6400 memory between 2 builds. ASUS M2N-SLI Deluxe AM2 NVIDIA nForce 570 SLI MCP ATX MB, AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ Windsor 3.0GHz (next build will be the 6400), Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 ST380815AS boot drive, SAMSUNG SpinPoint T Series HD501LJ 500GB data drive(s), FA404M BLK - OEM (floppy/card reader), and of course the EVGA 512-P2-N773-AR GeForce 8600GTS 512MB graphics card/ All in all, a very nice build for the money and very stable. And all from NEWEGG !! Thanks Newegg.

great vga card
Pros: very fast, and stable running all my games like crysis, COD4, and the command and conquer series all the way up at least 45 FPS
Cons: hot hot hot hot hot did i mention the heat issue? cause this thing can get up to 90 degrees Celsius during crysis
Other Thoughts: unlock able to 256 bit memory bandwith because it has a g84 GPU but you must use riva tuner

Good Mid Range VGA Card
Pros: 512MB Ram, great for people with 22" widescreen, played every thing on maxium except for Crysis. Medium was the best it could do. I'm Running x2 4800, 2.5GB Ram, Win XP Res.@ 1680x1050 @60 Hertz. 3d mark 06 only 3900+.
Cons: Runs Hot, Really Fast.

Great Card - BUT it runs HOT!!!
Pros: GREAT Video card for the price. As usual, New EGG got this order to me within 3 days of ordering (Actually 2 days for this order) Great Service New EGG !!! I only have 1 PCI x16 on my M2NBP-VM, so I needed a dual head DVI card. This did the trick. X-Plane V8.64 Runs at 75fps (only limited by the monitor) with 4x AA, 4x AS, Extreme res, medium scenery and 1280x1024. Retail kit, so it comes with HD out cable,s-video,molex Y adapter,2 DVI>VGA adapters for analog displays. Installation was a breeze, make sure you download updated drivers from EVGA. Card came with v76.6 drivers. Definitely recommended as long as you do not do heavy gaming . That is what the 8800 is for
Cons: HOT...VERY HOT :( I took recommendations from other reviewers and got a ZALMAN VF-700cu vga cooler kit. Best decision I made! GPU Temps before Zalman: Idle:56-58 Load: I shut it down at 70c so i wouldnt damage the chip. It would have definitely exceeded 70c. After Zalman: I:46, L:54-56 You HAVE to get an aftermarket cooler if you get this card! The stock HSF definitely less than desireable (< revision to keep out offensive language...lol)
Other Thoughts: Buy an aftermarket vga cooler kit - The Zalman worked great for me My system: Asus M2nBP-VM,Athlon 64x2 4000+,4GB DDR2-800,WD 320GB SATA II, Coolermaster 500w PSU,Stock CPU HSF, 80mm Rear Fan, 120mm Side Fan, PCI slot cooler, XP-Pro 32

Not a bad card
Pros: Fairly fast card with DX10 support. Good company.
Cons: Heatsink is pot metal and not copper. 128 bit RAM hampers speed a bit. There are other Radeon cards that compete better for the money. Not much better than my 7900GS from last year.
Other Thoughts: I am really looking for NVidia to release an 8900GS card with 256 bit RAM and performance. Somewhat disappointed with this card for the money....

Awesome Graphics
Pros: This card is great and has handled Unreal Tournament 3 perfectly. Installing and updating the drivers was very easy to do.
Cons: Running UT3 at MAX settings I regularly get a crash, but when the settings are toned down a bit, it works awesome. I'm not the only person with this crash and the UT teams are aware of it.

Pros: 512 Memory Fan is very quiet
Cons: I am only giving this a 4 because 3D games will periodically lockup my computer and I will have to hard restart it. I am not sure if that is a video card issue or a lack of power issue (500w PSU)
Other Thoughts: I received a mail-in-rebate on this purchase and it arrived very quickly. I never had a mail in rebate process that fast

Very good video card...
Pros: Nice design, DDR3, PCI express, 512 mb.....
Cons: first one came DOA but thats not neweggs fault.
Other Thoughts: upgrading from a radeon 9800gt pro (AGP x8) and i notice a big performance gain and i love it. should have gotten two of these things.

Extreamly Happy
Pros: Very Fast Card!! This card outperforms my older 7800GS 256MB AGP video card like you wouldnt belive.
Cons: Didnt by two and go SLI..
Other Thoughts: If you are like me and looked for reviews on this card or one like it to see if it is worth the upgrade, let me say I belive it is. Compaired to my old system I had a 7800GS AGP version on a AMD3400+ and 2GB DDR-400. On my new system I got this card on a AMD6000+ and 2GB DDR2-800. I know this kinda makes it hard to truely compaire cards frame rate per frame rate. But I went in WoW from Med-Low settings @ 1280x1024 1xAA at about 25FPS in town 60FPS out of town, to High-MedHigh settings @ 1280x1024 2xAA in town at 80+ FPS to 150FPS. Those are with vSync unloacked. With vSync it stays locked at 75FPS all the time. So I hope this helps a few people who play MMORPGs like I do and didnt want to throw out the cash for a 8800 series.

Ohhhhh yes!!
Pros: Wow...I can't even begin to explain how it makes me feel being able to turn up my graphics so high without any graphics lag. The 8800 is made as more of a multimedia video card, although it's still great for gaming, but this card can keep up just as well with games. I OC'd it with my ASUS MoBo, and just started tearing it up. I recommend it for the price, and the performance. nVidia is #1 in my book always, and EVGA has amazing customer service with great tech help.
Cons: NONE!! Except that I can't push it past it's limit yet, but I guess that's not a con.
Other Thoughts: Beautiful. Mean. Buy it!!

Pros: This card is great. I got it with COD4 on my 21.6 inch Samsung wide screen it is amazing. Runs great can't believe I waited so long to upgrade. Do it if you have some extra money so worth it and the card was at my door so fast thanks to Newegg.
Cons: I didn't buy it sooner.

Not an 8800 :(
Pros: Great budget DX10 card. Handles DX9.0c games just fine too. CoD4, HL2, FSX all run smoothly on moderatly high settings 1280x1024. Quiet fan. SUPERB dirvers from Nvidia!
Cons: The DDR3 RAM chips on the backside of the card do heat up some. 128-bit. Molex connector.
Other Thoughts: Add some aftermarket heatsinks to the RAM on the back of the card. I have a set of Zalman aluminum sinks installed. This card comes stock at 675mhz but others running the same g84 chip clock near 750mhz. Do what you will. In Dx9.0c games a 7950GT will render higher framerates, but with high vegitation or high textures the 8600GTS beats the 7950GT hands down. Make sure you run this card in a dual core setup as a single core can't feed it info fast enough. Benches more than double over a single core.

amazing performance for the price
Pros: This is my second card from EVGA, and I am very satisfied with there products; my first was a 6800 which still works great and will be handed down to my dads gaming comp. this 8600GTS you are looking at has amazing performance for the price and is probably the fastest 8600GTS that is stable finally cards have caught up with the latest games. I ran the crysis demo an all high settings except for having antialsing off and it was very playable and visually stunning!
Cons: Not really a con: Now I am going to have to spend a lot more money on all of the new games this card will run!
Other Thoughts: In my opinion this card seems to run hot and should have had a heat pipe through the middle of the sink, but according to the Nvidia chip specs, I am still at least 50°F below the danger zone and slow down feature. note that the latest Nvidia drivers finally let you change the slowdown temp setting; I have lowered mine by a few degrees just to be on the safe side.

GREAT!
Pros: This is an excellent card. With 2, its even better :-D I can run all my games that i have, Bioshock, HL2, CSS, ETC, on Maximum graphics, and those are the default settings :-)
Cons: I wish the fan, would have a few slits to blow the air out, would help :) but not that big of a deal
Other Thoughts: After going from ATI, to NVIDEA......WOW! WHAT A DIFFERENCE ;) and so what if it's not an 8800...DO games even require it yet?

Bang for your buck
Pros: Can beat the performance for the price. Built a gaming rig and this thing runs on vista 64 bit like a champ. The performance for the price is outstanding
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: it is an evga, so their support is pretty good if ever a card goes out.

Cons: Two makes the main one heat up? And crysis is running on medium high :(

8600
Pros: Good for the price, decent performance, runs cod4 almost all the way up.
Cons: 128 bit ram, not an 8800.
Other Thoughts: This is the best 8600 i found, unfortunately you have to get an 8800 to get 256 bit ram but i dont have that kind of money.

Pros: Sharp image
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: DO NOT use generic PSU that comes with the desktop (i.e. 350W), it's going to give you low power signal whenever you boot up your computer, so that you can not take advantage of this graphic card.

Great Card EVGA is the best
Pros: This is a great card, from a great company - I needed 2 for basic office computers and though these cards might be considered overkill, I would go with nothing less.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: I do not really need these cards for my main gaing rig as for that its nothing but there very best, but I have a couple office computers that get little to no 3D applications run on them, but I though if I ever wanted, I could, so instead of a coupld 8800GTs I went with a few of these and so far so good, dont expect much but I know they will be trouble free and will hold up my office computers for years to come. Plus EVGA is the best and if I ever do have a problem, they are there 24-7 to help.

Pretty Good
Pros: I upgraded from an 8500GT 256 DDR2 card and actually, this card is a hell of a lot better from what I can see. Where the 8500GT would stumble over UT3 on 800x600 this card runs perfect on 1680x1050!
Cons: Looking back maybe I should have went with an 8800GT, but in reality the card runs everything I throw at it fine.
Other Thoughts: Came with Quake Wars which was a nice surprise, not a bad card at all.

card is ok
Pros: decent card, people think this card is going to be great just because its a 8 series not true this card has the 8 series gpu NOT ram and also, only has 32 pixel pipelines, if you want a awesome deal get the 8800 gt 512 mb it has 112 stream processers which is a huge jump from this card and its only $229 and the best "bang for the buck" even better than the 8800 gtx which only has 94 stream processors.
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: there is nothing wrong with this card, first to the guy who had the driver issue try using xp 64 bit driver rather than the vista one, the vista one isnt stable, i know this because i have one computer using xp 64 bit and another using vista 64 bit ultimate, and the xp 64 bit driver works TONS better on vista. Second to the guy who had the fan problem the fan isnt ment to blow, but rather suck the air across the gpu and out, i dont know why evga set it up this way but they did on mine i just flipped the plug around, which switches the direction of the fan to blow, but doesnt work too too well because is actually pulls the air away from the gpu rather than across, so the only option for better airflow is to get another fan set up which is impossible because of the diodes on the board, not very comforting i know but rather than get 2 of these for sli just buy an 8800 gt 512 for $229 same price huge performance difference.

Great Card
Pros: Runs cool. I am running sli with this card and perfromance is way higher that I expected. In some places I am able to run crysis at very high settings without aa. If y
Cons: Himmmm. I can not find the driver that works well for these cards. Especially if you are running sli, that is going to be a problem for you but that is more of a nvidia con instead of the card.
Other Thoughts: In some places I am able to run crysis at very high settings without aa. I have Vista Ultimate 64 bit and there is not actually no such of a graphic driver for this kind a windows to run sli correct. If you consider that I do not have the right driver for the system I am usind and still able to play crysis at high graphs, that is some performance. I did not do any overlocking by the way. Plus this never gets hot like 8800 series.

nice
Pros: So far so good. Got it on two or three days ago and it has been running nicely.
Cons: I tried to watch an HD movie trailer the other day and it pixelated a little, but that might have just been the video itself, or the webpage hosting it.
Other Thoughts: Put it in my apevia telstar full tower case and it fits nicely. Doesn't take up too much space at all considering the fact that it is a good size card.

Nice...runs hot
Pros: This card runs great. plays all the games I like with top graphics config.
Cons: seriusly... the fan has to be just decoration... it gives absolutly NO airflow whatsoever. I even put my hand right up against it and couldn't feel nothing
Other Thoughts: Overall its a nice card as long as you have side fans on you case pointed around the card it should keep it cool enough.

Works great.
Pros: Works great. I have no recent card experience to express any performance reviews, but the card plugs in, it works, it seems very fast. I have one at home and another at work for CAD use and I am not dissapointed about the performance with respects to ease of installation, price and features.
Cons: None yet.
Other Thoughts: The extra power connector is there for a reason, don't waste your time skipping on connecting it when installing.

Great Card
Pros: This card screams. I wish I had a second PCI-Express slot so I could run SLI. Easy to install and configure.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: Download the latest drivers ASAP. It runs about 53 - 57 Deg C w/ stock cooler. The molex connector is odd for PCI-E, but it works.

Nice card
Pros: I'm big into Sims2 and WoW. Seemless functionality. Very pleased. It also came with a free game ET - Quake. That game runs like a dream. A+ on fair pricing as well considering I also got a $20 rebate.
Cons: none

Cons: the first time starting the computer it crashed after the boot screen, but I turned it back on and everything is good.
Other Thoughts: The drivers on the cd were a lil old,but I got the new forcewere drivers off the site, seam to work good.Im going to get a new psu in the next few weeks. My system: e6600 2gb win. vista ultimate 32bit 320 7200rpm sata this card 300w psu asus p5g board.

Great Card for price
Pros: I enjoy EVGA, and their lifetime warranty. This card was worth the $$$ paid for it. Plays Crysis and BF2 with NO troubles. Crysis plays on all medium settings just fine. You MIGHT be able to bump them up a little and still enjoy it, although i built the computer for someone else and only had time to test the card. Very impressed though
Cons: might run a bit hot with stock cooler.
Other Thoughts: upgrade cooler to an after market Artic Cooler probably

Awesome graphics card!
Pros: Fast, overclockable, not so big fits in small micro / slim cases. Dual DVI, SLI, 512MB DDR3. I guess the pros for this one are in the name pretty much! It runs every game I throw at it so far! Examples: FEAR (MAX settings), Oblivion (MAX settings), Civilization 4 Beyond The Sward (MAX settings) and so on. I haven't seen it BLINK yet so it gets a 5 from me!
Cons: None I can think of (at least in my case it runs beautifully). Although I would say it should have used the PCI-E power connector instead of the 4-pin molex connector.
Other Thoughts: I'm not exactly the expert in graphic cards, but from its software it reports that it's running at 51 degrees C at idle. I guess that's a normal temperature for these cards, I just thought I'd mention it. it's extremely easy to tweak the card and over clock it with just the built-in software which of course could be downloaded. One more plus is that the fan isn't always working and isn't always loud, it's automatic upon usage! My rig: Q6600 quad-core on a GIGABYTE GA-73VM-S2 Mobo with 4GB of RAM, 27 inch Dell LCD (2560 x 1600)

Slick Card
Pros: Excellent Midrange Card. Plays UT3, GOW, & GH3 with respectable settings. Dual DVI + Component TV-Out
Cons: I was expecting 4xAA&8xAniso but this card just couldn't pull it off. Universe at War is unplayable.
Other Thoughts: ATI has a few cards in the same price range w/ 256bit ddr4 ram, they might perform better, especially in the aniso department. other notable specs: E4500 (2.2Ghz), 2gb DDR2800 @ 4-4-4-12, 80gb 7200rpm 16mb hdd.

Yes good buy!
Pros: Big plus is the 512mb ddr3. You can't beat the price for this one. It handles any game you can throw at. COD4 runs average 120fps. The big test came with Flight simulator 10. Crisp video images with no lag of any kind. Definately a big improvement over what I had with the 6 series.
Cons: Only one con to this card and thats being a 128bit card. I wish it were 256bit at least but then that would make it a 8800. If I had to do it over again I would spend $50 extra and get a 8800. But money was an issue so I really can't complain. I got top quality for the price I paid.
Other Thoughts: If money is an issue then here's your card. If your stepping up from a 7800 then your waisting your time unless all you want is direct x10. I put this card in an alien ware computer 20"hd monitor 3.2g pentium4 HT 3gigs ram 150gig hard drive abit MB.

I love it.
Pros: Great card for the price. I would love an 8800 series card, but I would need a new power supply, case and motherboard(8800 would hit my RAM). So I got this instead and it has just surprised me at how good it works. Bioshock max, COD4 max, TF2 and HL2 max, Crysis at medium/high with 28-35 FPS(FRAPS). I never thought this card would work so dang good but it plays everything I throw at it. The price was great, got a free game and all the other packed in stuff worked great. If an 8800 series is out of your price range or it will not physically fit in your case than this card is for you. This card also OCed really well.
Cons: Fan is loud aat max speed and it can run a little hot. Just barley fit in my case and I have less than 1/8 of an inch gap from the card to the RAM.
Other Thoughts: First serious card I have bought for gaming and I am very happy with my selection. For the price you can do WAY WORSE.

Works in Ubuntu 7.10 with some effort
Pros: Drivers exist for Linux.
Dual Monitors works with different resolutions (Ubuntu 7.10 amd64)
Decent performance for gaming and compiz-fusion
Cons: Needed to use Envy to install the drivers in Ubuntu.
Doesn't speed up dvd playback like geforce 7 series cards do.
Other Thoughts: This works on Ubuntu 7.10 amd64 with dual monitors only if you install the latest drivers from Nvidia (I used the Envy scripts to do this). Using the drivers available from Ubuntu as of 1/18/08 will not work correctly on my computer).

Best value
Pros: I switched from an agp ATI x1300 and boy am i glad to be rid of the catalyst. Nvidia is user-friendly and allows customization of settings. I'm running COD4 at full settings with no problems.(except for lag caused by my wireless adapter) Haven't had time to try it on any other games but i assume it can handle any other current game, with the exception of Crysis.
Cons: People are complaining that the fan is loud. It is. At idle speeds I can barely hear it above my cpu and case fans. Even when I'm playing COD4 on a normal size server I can barely notice it. However sometimes when the graphics become pretty demanding; ie: numerous grenades and explosions occurring, does the speed of the fan start to noticeably increase. I say the noise is noticeable, but if you're playing a game with audio, its not going to bother you.
Also make sure you have a extra molex connector and an adequate power supply.
Other Thoughts: If you have the money buy a 8800. But if you're like the rest of us, this card will provide you with top of the line graphics at an affordable price.

What is EVGA doing?
Pros: Looks good on paper, or web page that is
Cons: Poor design, Don't make the mistake of plugging in a direct molex from the power supply, use the adapter. Can't RMA to Newegg.
Other Thoughts: If they have to cut corners to save $$$ by leaving out a PCIe power connector, Say so in the manual - OH wait there was no manual. And where am I supposed to get a female PCie to male molex adaptor?

Pros: Best card for the price. Runs all my games flawlessly, even with all the eye candy on while playing UT3. The 512MB memory size is great as well!
Cons: Make sure you have a spare molex connector!
Other Thoughts: Wish I had an SLI capable motherboard, or I would definitely be getting two of these!

Beautiful
Pros: Beautiful resolution, supported my 1080P HDTV and the software from NVidea has really nice features. Games like Rome: Total War ran at highest reso. highest detail and had no hang ups even in huge battles.
Cons: Make sure you have a plug and play monitor, I spent quite a bit on cords getting my hd hooked up to it, and ontop of that the DVI to HDMI adapter has compatibility issues.
Other Thoughts: It worked on and off with my HDTV but if you have a PnP monitor that you can use to hook up your hd it should work smoothly even if you are using DVI/HDMI converter. Happy playing.
