Excellent!
Pros: Very fast! The video card's fan is extremely quiet surprisingly.
Cons: None other than the card being huge

Avoid Evga
Pros: I basically owned the 280 gtx, but since evga discontinued it, and the SSC is just an over clocked 280 gtx minus a back plate, I want to give an informed opinion. The good: it's an nvidia card, you get physx hardware acceleration and it is a fast card. Pretty much all of the 280-295 cards are very fast for gaming. A friend put my system together this time, so they chose evga for the lifetime warranty and that you can overclock the card and basically the company gives you the software to do this. Sounds great right? well...
Cons: The con is two things: first off, REGISTER your product. Since my system was put together that great lifetime warranty that they promised went right into the trash can since I recieved my system 5 days after the 30 day registration time.. boo me. Also my card fans stopped working two months after purchase and overheated the card which has caused me to have to RMA it. This is why I say go with someone else. I've sent other cards in before to other companies (I won't name them unless people ask.) But basically I have to send the card in to evga, wait, and then get my replacement. Other places, you get your replacement and send yours back in. So if you want to have a huge down time with your system, EVGA is just right for you. If you want really good RMA service then go with one of the other companies that offer lifetime warranties, since all these cards are the same with the exception of some of evga's custom boards, which honestly don't make a drastic difference.
Other Thoughts: Recap: Strict 30 day registration: otherwise NO LIFETIME WARRANTY. RMA process is slow, for the price and hardware, other companies sell the same cards with better policies and trustme, it really is a big thing. you've been warned.
Manufacturer Response:Hi, Please contact us directly at 888-880-3842, also, EVGA does have an advanced RMA service. Please see here: www.evga.com/ear Thanks, Jacob

EVGA GeForce GTX 285 SSC
Pros: I bought this card to get away from SLI, which doesn't work for all games incuding Crysis, which I play alot. This card deffinatly lives up to it's name. I replaced 2 8800GT's with this card and I am glad that I did, as this card has equal performance to both of those cards, and my SLI issues are gone to. Even though it is overclocked out of the box, there still is a little room to overclock further, though I don't see a reason to, as this card can play any game with the defult settings. My computer runs an E8600 Wolfdale 45nm Core2 at 4.275GHz with an 1800 FSB. This card is a perfect asset to my rig. Also when this card clocks down when not busy it runs at a cool 45*C with a defult fan speed of 25%......Nice
Cons: HEAT!! I have to manually turn the fan speed up to 65% on a few of my games as this card can get to 75*C+ using the defult fan driver.
Other Thoughts: The cooler works great, it's just the temps move up a lot faster then the fan speed does. Over all, I am very happy with the performance of this card, kudos to nVidia and EVGA.

Pros: This card is amazing. I'm currently running it on win7beta and it performs flawlessly. I, when I can my kid away from the gaming PC, have run it in WoW & Call of Duty; no problems or lockups with either on 7beta.
Cons: size
Other Thoughts: This is a full width card--very large. make sure your case is large enough.

Tri-Sli Sweetness!
Pros: 3 of these in tri-sli crush crysis / crysis wars.
Cons: NONE
Other Thoughts: I watercooled mine with koolance gear. Was easily able to achieve clocks of 778 gpu, 1728 shader, 1440 mem at 44c,44c,44c full load! Idle is about 32c. WAY above F.T.W specs! No need to go higher. Usually run 725,1656,1404 for 24/7 use in gaming etc.
Already long in the tooth but, these cards still give 295's a run for thier money.

Great Video Card
Pros: Fast. Overclocks well. Fan that blows hot air out of the case.
Cons: Runs a bit on the hot side. Length-It barely fit in my midtower case. It is about 1inch from my hard drives.
Other Thoughts: Extremely pleased with this purchase.

Buy this NOW
Pros: FPS FPS FPS FPS FPS FPS FPS FPS FPS FPS. If all those pro's weren't enough - how about MAXXXXXED OUT SETTINGS, 16X, 16X, nothing lower than a min of 100 fps. running my 24" BENQ lcd @ 1920x1200
Cons: price - but hey you get what you pay for.
Other Thoughts: I WANT ANOTHER (yea its overkill) i mean who needs 200fps in crysis maxed out! lol

Pros: This thing rock's. Runs CoD WaW maxed out settings (1920x1080) without any problems. Stays at idle temp when running BF2... The EVGA software is nice, can change clocks/fan speed from desktop.
Cons: It was not cheaper and does not cook breakfast...

Love EVGA
Pros: This thing chews up and spits out any game out there. First thing I did when I got this in the mail is rip out my 4870, install this, and reinstall vista 64bit. After I loading up the drivers I installed the Call of Duty World at War. Maxed out the graphics at 1920x1200 and didn't see any studdering. A nice steady framrate. With the 4870 I would have lots of crashes and it felt like the fps would drop and lag a lot. Overclocked this to 736/1660/1360 and I haven't stopped there. Finally I have hardware with decent drivers.
Cons: Didn't score as high in 3dmark as I did with 2 4870s. Duh. But I can honestly say games play better on one GTX 285.
Other Thoughts: Would love to go SLI with this thing but I'm still on my ASUS M3A79T Deluxe with Phenom 9950. Thinking about the new EVGA Classified board, two of these Video cards, and a I7 920/950. Now that would be a nice system.

Awesome Card! Crummy Game!
Pros: Fast, fast, fast. I took it out of the beat-up box care of UPS and plugged it in and, after I got a new PSU, it worked like a charm. I read a bunch of reviews about this card being excessively large, but it fit in my ATX case pretty easy without mowing down any pre-existing devices. Kinda rests on my southbridge heatsink but that hasn't caused me any problems. A helluva lot quieter that my old water-cooled 8800 GTS 640 and several magnitudes more efficent. An excellent choice for a single card solution, or as a component in your SLI machine.
Cons: It IS power hungry, but 550 watt PSUs aren't as expensive as they used to be, (thank you, global financial melt-down.) Mine came with Call of Duty - World at War as a freebie, and let me tell you, I would rather have saved ten bucks. I tried to get that lousy game to work for, like, two days before I threw it in the microwave in a fit of anger and just played Crysis, which runs like a rabbit on fire, now.
Other Thoughts: Beware free software titles, if they were killer apps, you would have to pay for them. Excellent card, though.

freakishly FAST
Pros: ONE runs EVERY game I own on the highest settings at 90 plus frames per second at 1080. Temps stay around 45ish under load.
Cons: Its large covers the entire motherboard. It takes a high dollar power supply to power.

800 psu can't dish
Pros: About doubled the performance of my gtx 8800 and runs a bit cooler too.
Cons: Running two rails rated at 26amps which more than supplies the necessary 40 needed on my 800watt that has handled my 8800 for over a year. Runs (under heavy gaming stress) for about 5-10 maybe 15min max before it just shuts down instantly. Apparently my powersupply is unstable for the power this thing needs. Tested a dozen times with a million configurations, samething, then tested with my friends 650psu and ran for like 35min+ under heavy and heavyer load with no problems.
Other Thoughts: Still gets up to like 80C, when gaming, otherwise Idols at 38-40C.

GREAT GPU
Pros: amazing video card, extremely overclockable, runs crysis on maxed out graphics, etc, no flaws, nothing it cant wrestle, i bought three of them for tri-sli
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: before buying this gpu seriously consider your current system, this card is VERY STRONG/FAST, a weak processor can easily bottleneck it. same applies for some mobo's that have pci-e 1.0 not 2.0

Great Card
Pros: Great card, runs all of my games on high settings with 40-60 FPS.
Cons: None yet.
Other Thoughts: I used to have a 4870 X2 that wouldn't even load half my games, never had a card with so many driver issues. Ordered this card and EVERYTHING runs smoother. Last time I buy something from ATI/Sapphire.

Not as good as the reviews look.
Pros: Packaging looked OK.
Cons: Card 1.) DOA. Red light on card. NO VIDEO. Could not get it to work in either of my PCIe slots OR any other computers at the house. I tired to register it on EVGA web site to do an RMA and messed up. Put I bought it in 2008 not 2009. So now i cant RETURN it. So it looks like im ripped off now. Even though I had it only 2 weeks, I cant do an RMA on it. Card 2.) Worked GREAT for the first 20 min. Noticed that the air coming from the card was HELLA hot. So I started to monitor Temps. Was getting VERY hot, but was in normal op standards. Rebooted pc tonight and BLACK SCREEN. Card would not come up. Popped it my son's computer and same problem. Borrowed his GTX8800 put in my computer, and im using his card now to do this review. (his is XFX brand)
Other Thoughts: These were my FIRST 2 EVGA products. I wish I had gone with XFX or MSI. I have had those in past and NEVER had issues. I mean both flipping cards were duds. I never even got a chance to try SLI. >< ONLY reason I bought these was because of all the "5 eggs" they got. Starting to think they paid for those reviews.
Manufacturer Response:Hi, Please contact us directly at 888-880-3842 so we can resolve this. Thanks, Jacob

Pros: Probably the best single-GPU card available.
Cons: None so far
Other Thoughts: Upgraded from a 9800 GTX so I could max out (or close to it) games on my 24" Samsung. Ordered from Newegg on Monday, received it Wednesday morning.

Amazing card
Pros: Pros? This is the fastest single gpu card on the market. Power saving by using different core clock speed for 2D stuff is excellent pro, especially when running high-end systems that take advantage of the cards capability. The over-clocking utility (EVGA Precision) bundled with the card is a nice touch and allows for setting higher fan speeds and even core clock speeds, as well as memory clock and shader clock adjustments. In all, an EXCELLENT graphics card for the most demanding single-gpu processes and programs out there. Adobe Master Suite CS4 absolutely breezes through processing!
Cons: Not enough documentation with EVGA Precision utility. Other than that, this card has no cons I've discovered. Even the Precision documentation not included is readily available on the 'net... google it.
Other Thoughts: I'm running an i7 965 Extreme Edition cpu and heat buildup inside my case is a critical issue for me. The ability to adjust fan speed of the gpu is an awesome touch.

EVGA 01G-P3-1287-AR
Pros: 1st: First high end video card. I am new to PC gaming, So I don't know all of the technical video card slang. 2nd: Really high understanding of AV and Multimedia. 3rd: First game played, Crysis.
-WOW...from what I can see from game play and installation. GREAT CARD.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: Getting another one to SLI.

Good card, Bad shipping...
Pros: This card is amazing. Worked flawlessly.
Cons: The cons? Basically when I saw the box that the item came in I cringed. It looked like someone stepped on the right side of the box and crushed it in half. I opened to box to find the normal packaging for the card half crushed on one corner so bad that it broke the cellophane wrapper, and ripped the corner of the box. Apparently if you only pay for 3 day shipping they treat your product like ace ventura shipped it.

Awesome
Pros: Quiet and cool. I somehow squeezed this into an XPS410 with a new psu pretty much cutting down on all the extra room needed to cool down the card. With the help of EVGAs Precision tool this card never gets hotter than 70 at max load playing Crysis, of course while playing I set the fan at 100%. Card cools down almost immediately once the load is taken off. All other games FC2, COD WAW, L4D temps stay in mid 60's. I play Crysis Warhead at 1680X1050 on enthusiast and average 50FPS. Bottom line great card. I upgraded from an 8800GTS 512 and am very pleased with my decision.
Cons: With an already O/C'd card there's really no room for improvement, jsut not worth the 1 or 2 fps increase to push it.
Other Thoughts: You could save some cash and buy the vanilla card, use the precision tool to O/C but I prefer letting EVGA do it for me and RMA if it was pushed to far.

EVGA GTX285 Never The Problem!
Pros: Fast, very fast. Runs very cool, 40c to 50c with fan turned up to 60%. Included software big plus. Vast improvement in picture quality from previous 8800 card.
Cons: After 3 days of flashing screen, total loss of display numerous times and PC crashes and many phone calls to hardware manufacturer's. Three driver uninstalls and installs. Process of elimination of hardware and memory tests. Yeah I was starting to pull my hair out and cursing LOL. Formatted HD, when installing Vista Ultimatex64, PC informed me could not install. Defective files on disc. The EVGA GTX285 SSC was never the problem, even though all indications said it was. My apologizes to everyone involved in this episode, also especially to EVGA and Newegg.
Other Thoughts: Build - MB Asus M2N32SLi Vista Premium, AMD Athlon X2 3.1, 8gigs 800mg Corsair, Zalman 850 modular PS, CyberPower 1500 UPS, Thermaltake V1 CPU cooler, 2 X 1TB Seagate SATA HD, Asus DVD Drive, Asus VK266H 26" WS Display, EVGA GTX285 SSC Graphics, Saitek Blue backlit keyboard, Logitech Trackball, Logitech Z-2300 Audio, NZXT Trinity Case, Canon Pixma MP620 All-in-one Printer, 2 X Logysis HD Coolers, MS Office 2007, XP Prox64, Vista Ultimatex64 Dual boot. All items except case and HD coolers purchased at Newegg. Newegg helped me get in touch with MS for an OS disk replacement. Of all the phone calls made for service would rate Newegg at the top. Newegg Rocks! :)

Beautiful at first. :(
Pros: Ease of install. Picture quality 3 to 4 times better. Runs much cooler than older cards. EVGA Precision, overclock and monitor software big plus. Phone number for tech support.
Cons: Never overclocked graphics card, but did raise fan speed to 60%. After install display started flashing on and off very fast. Then started loosing display completely. Then PC started crashing. Then Display started down sizing resolution to 800 X 600. Called EVGA 4 times, did everything they recommended. Installed NVidia Drivers 3 times. Note - To remove old drivers do so in Safe mode, F8 key on boot up. Temps never went over 50 C. Monitored PC carefully. Took there last advise, process of elimination. Removed there card and installed another. And no they didn't suggest removing there card. From conversations, there outlook is deny any possibility there product is defective, eliminate all other possibilities first. Played WOW for 4 hours with no problems. Have RMA in the works. Will try them again. To a geek like me having a PC crash is a major, major problem! Compassion Please!
Other Thoughts: Build - Asus M2N32SLI- Vista Premium MB, CPU AMD 6400X2 3.11gig, EVGA GTX285 SSC Graphics, Ram 8gigs 800meg Corsair, HD's 2 X 1TB Seagate Sata, Asus Dvd Drive, CyberPower 1500 UPS, Zalman 850 Modular PS, Asus VK266H 26" WS Display 1920 X 1200, Dual Boot, XP Pro64, Vista Ultimate64, Saitek Blue Backlit Keyboard, Logitech Trackball, Logitech Z-2300 Audio, Thermaltake V-1 CPU Cooler, NZXT Trinity Case, Canon PIXMA MP620 All-In-One Printer. 2 X Logysis HD Coolers Passive. All items purchased from Newegg except, Case and HD coolers. Took about 2 mins with Newegg to set up the RMA. And Yes Newegg Still Rocks! :)

Register
Pros: This card is huge, but it works my friend forgot to register his 8800gtx and 2 months out of warrenty it died. Make sure you register your card otherwise you only get one year warrenty. Thats kind of bull to me. But this isnt a real gamer machine it was put into. Just to play WOW. The card has great frame rates and doesnt overheat with WOW even in the 25 mans.
Cons: None that i see.

Outstanding Card
Pros: Outstanding Card! Will handle anything I have thrown at it.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: It is a large card. Required moving the HD cage down in my case (Antec 900). But fit without an issue.

Everything I could have hoped for
Pros: Runs all my games including Crysis (original and warhead) and Empire total war at max settings with AA turned up at 60 frames per second. I was expecting a jump from my last set of cards but nothing this drastic, I was WRONG!!!
Cons: This is a very big card, make sure you have a mid atx case or bigger. Most cases are at least mid, so you should be fine if you aren't sure, but check anyway because this card is big.
Other Thoughts: I had a pair of evga 8800gts 640's running in SLI and before I bought this card I was looking for anyone to tell me if this card (gtx285) would be better than those or not. Well it is, for me, WAY BETTER! The rest of my computer is as follows: e6600 2.4ghz , 4gb 1066 ddr2 Mushkin ram, all on a evga 680i motherboard. If that sounds familiar, and you're wondering what I was wondering, quit wondering and get this card.

Love this card
Pros: I was running Two GT 8800's in SLI so I was a little worried about switching to a single card but let me tell you I'm not disapointed at all. All my games have higher FPS and my 3Dmark6 score went from 20590 to 21407. My system specs are Core i7 920@3.5, Asus PT6 motherboard, EVGA GTX285 SC(it came overclocked to SSC speeds)WD750 hard drive, 3GB of corsair XMS3 memory@1355MHz.
Cons: Not a single con!!!
Other Thoughts: Get this card, you wont be disapointed!

slow slow slow
Pros: ok card
Cons: evga step up plan is ungodly slow just buy the 295gtx so you dont have to wait to step up
Manufacturer Response:Hi, How quickly the step-up moves depends entirely on the availability of the card. The GTX 295 is a very limited card, once more inventory is available the step-up will move quickly. Thanks, Jacob

Beyond Awesome
Pros: This thing is FAST FAST FAST !!!!! Need I say more !!!!No real need to Overclock due to the high factory overclock out of the box! Did play with overclocking a bit, it seems like it is capable of going further with no issues. I've never seen the Temp go above about 58 C and my computer room is warm to begin with. It idles around 50 C !
Cons: It didn't come in a 2 pack !!!!! Not a con but just a note: Check you messurements before you order this thing is big. You can get the messurements at ASUS.com I'm running the ANTEC 900 case and I had to move the hard drive cages forward about 2.5 inches and they are now hanging out the front of the case a bit. Looks a bit odd but it works and I knew I was going to need to do this when I ordered the card.
Other Thoughts: I'm still running on the older AM2 platform with PCI 1.0 and just upgrading to this card from 2 7600 GS's in SLI took my 3D Mark score from 3500 marks to 7500 Marks. If it can give that kinda gain in an older system imagine what it could do for a newer system with PCI 2.0 and a Quadcore Proc !!!!!

Awesome Video Card!

Great card, overclocks well
Pros: I bought 2 of these for SLI and the performance is amazing. 3dmark vantage graphics scores when in SLI hovers around 24750. I was able to flash both of them up to EVGA's 285 F.T.W without any problems.
Cons: You get what you pay for, so none at all
Other Thoughts: Buy them.

Great Gaming Card
Pros: Plays anything I can throw at it. Feels well put together and sturdy. This card is already overclocked by the manufacturer. It has played everything I've thrown at it flawlessly. It is backwards compatible with PCIe 1.x x16 motherboards.
Cons: As expected, this joker is huge. It is blocking 4(!) of my 6 SATA ports on my Asus P5K-Deluxe WiFi/AP. I'm able to use the 90 degree cables for ports on the outside, but that still leaves 2 totally blocked off.
Other Thoughts: I bought this to replace a dead EVGA 8800 GTX. Make sure you register this product within 30 days to receive the lifetime warranty.

A Killer Card.
Pros: I find it hard to describe the perfect card. It came with alot of cool extras. It works flawlessly. I only stopped playing games long enough to write this.
Cons: It can always be cheaper, but the price is good for a 200 series card.
Other Thoughts: There are always issues with drivers. I have occasionally had BSOD's during gaming. Nvidia is still working out driver issues.

Excellent!
Pros: I baught two of these for SLI and this video card is the most impressive I have ever seen! Produces amazing framerate in even the most demanding games like crysis and far cry 2. You deffinatly get the most bang for your buck because it comes with EVGA's precision program ehich allows you to overclock your GPU easily so instead of wasting the extra money on the gtx 285 (for the win) edition, you can overclock to the same settings as the (for the win) and then some!
Cons: -Large and had a little bit of trouble fitting it in my Alienware case but all works fine. -finding four 6 pins is a pain if your running SLI.

other thoughts
Pros: second fastest card on the market only to the evga 285 for the win edition (newegg apparently thinks that the abbriviation of for the win is inappropriate >.<). This problem is solved with a simple over clock.
Cons: I can't think of a single one
Other Thoughts: newegg got the specs on the card wrong all 285 cards use open gl 3.0 according to the evga costomer service rep.

285GTX SSC Great Card
Pros: Runs Cool, Fast, Looks Cool Faster than two 8800GTX's in SLI which was my last setup Requires two six pin power plugs as opposed to eight pin I now can play Crysis and other games without much lag. Fear Project Origin > 100fps at 16Q AA x 16AF 1920x1200 Price was good when I bought it..
Cons: I need a second one now.
Other Thoughts: Wish it had lighting...

Very Nice Card
Pros: Very very fast. Runs cooler than any other graphics card I've used. Worth every dollar spent.
Cons: Not really a con but in order to get the card to work had to install it 3 times. Possible oxidation on contacts of PCB or pins on PCIe connector, not sure, but before you RMA try reinstalling it a few times. Why isn't there a Newegg warehouse close to me? Hmmmm?
Other Thoughts: This is my 7th build and the first EVGA item I've tried. The reviews are what sold me, any company that takes good care of it's customers rates very high with me. So happy with this purchase think I'll do an EVGA build next. As always Newegg Rocks! :)

Pros: See other
Cons: See other
Other Thoughts: For those of you who are wondering if there is any advantage to the SSC model over the stock one. The stock GTX 285 has a core voltage of 1.16v. The SSC comes stock with a core voltage of 1.23v. This in combination with the higher clocks is what results in the higher power consumption.

Cards that looked used...
Pros: @my card looked used
I purchased a GTX 260 Core 216 SC card that was in a sealed boxed but looked used when I took it out as well. My 8800 GT Akimbo (for another system) looked the same way. I can't explain the markings on the PCBA other than mostly likely a poor post-PCBA build cleaning process but as far as the cover side of the board, you may want to try peeling off the protective plastic covering. It looked like trash on both my cards but once removed, the finish underneath was shiny and clean. That protective film is so precisely cut that it's not easily recognizable as being there unless you inspect very closely. Wasn't until I picked up my Core 216 did I recognize this - b/c on that card the corner was peeling up just a bit. Removed it and "whala!". Went to my other system and did the same thing on my 8800 and "whala!".
Maybe that's your issue too...just a thought.
Cons: If your board doesn't have a protective film layer, then I would RMA the bad boy...

Delicious
Pros: This card is amazing. It runs everything on ultra high, 1680 x 1050 resolution on all my games so far (Team Fortress 2, World at War, GTA IV, Left 4 Dead, etc.) with no lag. I haven't noticed any overheating, or the card getting too hot. Also, EVGA gives you this program called EVGA Precision that lets you monitor and control things such as your core clock, your shader clock, your memory clock, and your fan speed.
Just for a sidenote, during some gameplay I experienced monitor tearing. It's not the card that's causing it, but but if it happens to you, try enabling "vertical sync".
Cons: No cons so far, I absolutely love this card.
Just know that it's quite a large card, and I'd recommend getting a full tower if you don't want to rearrange or try to fit it in.

my card looked used
Pros: It works
Cons: I was very dissapointed with the way my card looked upon arrival, and still looks. Smug marks on the finish, and strange looking scuff marks on the circut board around the edges that dont come off. It just doesnt look like a nice new card.
Other Thoughts: I should rma this card...409$ the card should look flawless.

whats up newegg?
Pros: Ohh how many times can i count my reviews here have been pirated.Ill be suprized if this gets posted. The reveiws you read on the items your interested in have controlled numbers of negitive feedback!
PS.I think newegg gets the hand picked junk from the makers. Its the only way i can recive so many faulty items .
Cons: First one i had died.Im on the second one now.. I get the second one only to find after testing that it has a issue with my screen going black at any given time when it feels like it.
Temps are well managed and low for air 60c water cooled cpu 1k watt 40 amp psu ?? why do i keep reciveing junk?
Other Thoughts: Its not my power supply or my mother board causeing my issues as i have tested this card in my second pc with the same result. man whats going on here i can take my pick of other online retailers and buy from them, the product i would recive wouldn't have issues. I have had multiple RMA's dealing with newegg.I now am stuck with sending it to EVGA for a replacement and they send me back a refurbished one. I cant seem to have a new product in my PC anymore sence shopping here. It would be nice if i could at least get something that works corectly from here. Its a shame.. the prices are great here just too bad all this isnt worth the hassle of warranty work by the manufacturer!! beware the flickering black screen!!
corsair hx1000 psu asus crosshair 2 formula mobo OCz 1066 reaper ram 2x2 gb 9650be phenom cpu (soon to be the phenom II) (not from newegg) Im done with this place good luck to all you who hope to recive a good item!

Simply amazing card
Pros: This card is amazing. without a doubt the single best GPU out on the market at the time of this writhing. I cannot stress enough how perfect this card is for you if you are looking for a card that will last you a good year or two...or longer if you are like me and only buy a system every 3-4 years.
Cons: its not edible
Other Thoughts: There is little if nothing else to say about this card. The SSC edition is not the absolute highest end (that is the other F.T.W. edition) but why pay the extra money, just OC it yourself to the spec of the F.T.W. card.

Whoosh
Pros: I knew it would be faster than my 8800GTX, but it even seems to do better than benchmarks. I'm really impressed. Runs a lot quieter than the GTX as the fan doesn't spin up as much. Very long, of course. I had to the top of my three HDDs out of the drive cage and up to an internal bay to make room for the card. Time for a bigger case.
Cons: I noticed when playing Crysis that all throughout the game, I'd occasionally see some bright green flashes of artifacts which is usually a sign of too much over clocking and/or heat (although Everest claimed the card was within temp threshold). This problem was much worse when inside the alien ship; which cause the fan to go into afterburner mode and then the game even locked up a few times there (hard lockup requiring a reboot). So far, other games have been fine, even Crysis Warhead.
Other Thoughts: Make sure you get latest drivers; 181's acted very buggy for me with this card (same version I was using with the 8800gtx).

Great Card
Pros: This card is light years ahead of my old 8800gts 640meg. I loved the old card but after having this one, the old one dying wasn't such a bad thing. I've seen mostly 100fps increases in Eve Online Premium Client, Crysis now runs ultra high with 8x AA, Fallout 3 looked awesome before but its runs even better now. GTA4 maxed is flawless, almost like the card is yawning. The software included (EVGA Precision) is great for manually alter fan speed. I prefer my cards to run cooler, so I always crank up the fans before gaming, and then return control to the card afterwards.
Cons: Large. It fit in my full tower with about 3-4cm left to spare.
Other Thoughts: EVGA is a great company, been with them my past 4 cards. I have yet another reason here to continue to stick with them. Great cards, great qaulity.

Great Card
Pros: ¤Fastest single card solution available.
¤Runs quiet at stock speeds with fan set to auto (ie. 40%), GPU temp 80°C full load in my Cooler Master HAF932
¤Great for gaming.
Cons: ¤Be prepared for drivers that are works in progress.
Other Thoughts: You will need to adjust the NVidia profiles for your specific games to suit your needs. As the default setups don't neccessarily work flawless for everyone.

Upgraded from 8800 gtx in sli
Pros: Went from two 8800 gtx's in sli to this baby; why? Frankly, not all games work with sli or benefit from it, the heat being put out by the 8800's was getting ridiculous, and I have a 37 inch monitor which I need to run at 1920 X 1080.
Cons: Only got one.
Other Thoughts: I plan until the price goes down in 6 months before sli'ing this with another card.

WHOA!!!
Pros: All I can say is: WHOA!! Finally I can play Crysis maxed out with 4x Antialising enabled at 1680 X 1050 resolution. I recieve stable framerates and the game looks absolutely gorgeous, and I owe the majority of it to this GTX 285. Far Cry 2, GTA IV, Crysis Warhead, and Fallout 3 all zip along without a hiccup.
I upgraded from an 8800 GT and the difference in quality and performance is indescribable. If you desire top notch graphics at blazing speeds, then this is the video card for you.
Cons: Not really a con, but the card is HUGE! I had to move my hard drive to a different bay in order to fit this beast into my case.
Other Thoughts: In order to maximize the effect of this card, be sure to have an adequate system to limit bottlenecking. I have: -4 GB G.Skill DDR2 RAM - Intel Quad-Core overclocked to 3.07 Ghz
I wanted a GTX 295, but Newegg was out of stock when I decided to purchase. Thankfully EVGA incorporates a 90-day step-up program, so I might eventually upgrade to it.
Oh yeah, and Call of Duty: World At War came free at the time of purchase. It moves along at incredible speeds as well. Buy this card!

Awesome Video Card
Pros: I bought two of the EVGA Nvidia 285 GTX. It runs very fast especially while playing Left4Dead
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: The Video Card is huge. Medium range computer cases will not be available to install this. If you want to buy this make sure your Desktop case is gaming case

Pros: Super, Super, Clocked! Super Fast video card! Blazes through all my games.
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: This card replaces my 8800GTS, and what a difference it makes! I also got this card with a free copy of Call of Duty World at War. Love the game! Thanks Newegg!

55nm is a winner
Pros: -Excellent performance in a single card. -Power draw at idle is lower then cards a year older. -1 Gig memory buffer removes bottleneck that hindered previous models. -Factory over-clocked means no voided warranty. -Fan relatively quiet. -55nm processor allows for faster clocks with less power and heat. -Evga customer service.
Cons: - Pricey if you are a seasoned over-clocker and can accomplish the same speeds with the base model (albeit a safer choice). - Power draw under load is just as high as most the competitors. - A fairly stout system is required in order not to bottleneck this card in demanding games. An educated guess would say at least a dual-core of 1.8Ghtz or faster with 2 gigs of RAM. I say this with 1920x1200 or higher resolutions in mind. Lower native resolutions should allow for lower system specs.
Other Thoughts: This is my fifth Evga card. It is installed in a C2D E8500 system with 4 Gigs of DDR2 and a 750w PSU. I play a wide variety of games with max settings @ 2560x1600 on a 30" monitor. This card hasn't flinched once. The only game I've seen slow downs in is the later half of Crysis. Otherwise Far Cry 2, Fallout 3, FEAR 2, L4D and even Crysis Warhead are all smooth as silk. Definately a performer.

WOW !!
Pros: I bought this Card to replace my 8800GTX, this Card ROCK solid for all my games. Its worth paying so much money to this new card with no regrets. I like this card and can't complain about it.
Cons: NO cons! For Your Info; just to make everyone to understand why this card run so fast at any game its because you also need to have a high end PC hardware too. I am running with the E8600 @ 3.33 Gigs and pair with 4 gb DDR3 by Patriot Viper 7-7-7-20. All running with an eVGA board 790iFTW Digital Power "not ultra", with all this combine together my PC is running super fast for all games as of now.
Other Thoughts: Order from newegg on 2/11/2009 at 1:25 pm and shipped the same day, received 2/12/2009 by UPS ground, super fast shipping since I am only 30 miles away from newegg. For my conclusion, do what I did, dont think how much it will cost you or will I still have my job by tomorrow? .... just CLICK on ADD to Basket and Click on "Checkout" and click SUBMIT... thats IT !! you got one.

Awesome V-Card!!
Pros: Flawless IMO. Upgraded from previous 7950GT to this one. Well worth it I must say. I don't do much overclocking but its pretty good for where it's set. XP 32 Benchmarked @ 22,600. Vista 64 Benchmarked @ 15,400. Soon to purchase a 2nd one. Ran COD5 on full settings...Totally amazing!! Love it! Running on EVGA X58, i7 920 OC'd @ 4Ghz, Corsair 6GB 1600. Packaged very well and arrived in perfect working condition.
Cons: None except that the price is dropping ><.
Other Thoughts: None.

Wish mine worked
Pros: This card is extremely powerful and handled everything I threw at it.....
Cons: Until my system shut off.... repeatedly. I have a Thermaltake 850W psu with 62A on the 12V so I know it's not a power issue. Temperature stays right around 45-50C so it's not a temp issue. Between my system shutting off, and random black flashes while browsing the web, it is very frustrating.
Other Thoughts: Sending for RMA today, hopefully it's just a bad card and the new one will work just fine.

Awesome - You'll love it
Pros: Fast - Quiet - Cool - EVGA Quality and Warranty
Cons: None for me.
Other Thoughts: I love this card. I'm running everything maxed out on my 24 inch 1920 x 1200. Even after running for hours I never get above 70C and the fan is very quiet. I highly recommend this card to anyone who is serious about gaming or high intensity graphics.

This thing is a beast
Pros: First of all, I must say, the BEST $450 I've spent on computer parts in a LONG time.
I've upgraded from SLIed EVGA 8800 GTX cards ($700 apiece) to this card.
I opened this card and my dad, who knows nothing about computer hardware, commented on how slick it looked. Well this things got the looks and the guns.
I popped this in, connected a HDMI cable to my monitor (FINALLY!), and instantly ran Fallout 3. With my old SLI build I got around 20-30 FPS on High settings with not too much enabled (1680x1050 resolution) but whenever I got anywhere near water my computer tried to implode. I set EVERYTHING to max (AA and AF too), and got a smooth 60 FPS (I play with Vsync) with a dip once or twice to 58 FPS when the polygon count went through the roof.
FEAR2 - 60 FPS, CoD WaW - 60 FPS, Mass Effect - 60 FPS (up from 12-13 at some points in the game) Crysis - 50ish FPS with DX10 Textures and everything (in game) pushed to full (up from not being able to run on on DX10 at all)
Cons: *This ISN'T a con to the video card* - Vista decided to 'look' for the drivers itself so it caused the driver installation to not go as smoothly as it would have had Vista not failed. Approximately 5 minutes were wasted while I fought with Vista.
The videocard is too fast...is that a con?
It's got the bang for the buck!
You don't need to SLI to run all the newest games on the highest settings?
OH! I've thought of one! EVGA gives you a cool sticker for your case, but if you lose it/screw up on the placement they don't give you a second chance! HA!
(Ok, seriously though, this thing has no cons I can think of! WELL worth the money.)
Other Thoughts: COOLER MASTER Cosmos 1000 Steel ATX Full Tower EVGA 750I SLI MB Intel Q6600 2.40Ghz EVGA GTX 285 SSC Edition (Only thing that's changed in my computer since I wrote this review as far as the FPS in the listed games goes.) 8 GB G.SKILL DDR2 1066 RAM Some 5 year-old Seagate HD that I really should replace... 22inch WS HP Monitor (not the best, but it was free) Bose 7.1 Surround.
Bravo to EVGA for releasing another stellar product!
I also love how you can tell when the video card is being taxed: The fan makes a nice humming noise (not too loud, kind of soothing) then the SECOND it doesn't have a big load the fan turns off. Much more efficient than my previous video cards as far as cooling goes.
I can't wait to have games that require two of these videocards to run smoothly. They're going to look phenominal.

Great card!
Pros: Very fast card, will run anything I throw at it with ease, running at 1680x1050.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: Once again, great card, I highly recommend this.

Terrific
Pros: Great card, great price, rebate, EVGA quality, EVGA warranty, the raw power. I have the E8400 and this one card with 2 GB of DDR2 @ 1066 running XP Pro32bit and I can run Crysis at 1600x1200 with everything on High and 8xAA with Vsync and it is as smooth as the original Doom from 1995. This card is simply amazing, I don't even need to SLI. Oh and they gave me COD:WAW.
Cons: HA! cons! on an EVGA product!? I'd love to see an ATI product with the kind of 5 star ratings these EVGA cards get. For it is hard to top perfection.
Other Thoughts: First off, a lot of people complain about how hot video cards get such as this one and the 8 and 9 series as well. This has nothing to do with the card but your case. I have a cheap Rosewill 5717 with which you can attach a 120mm fan on the side right above the video card. Between that fan and the other two 120mm's and the one 80mm plus the 135mm on the power supply and the 110mm on the CPU cooler my case has TONS of AIRFLOW. With this much airflow it cannot overheat.
Second off and more important, I see people wondering about the min. power requirements. It says that a min. PSU of 650W and 12V rail @ 40amps. These ratings are done with high scale parts and everythings fully maxed out. Very few have the highest end parts such as the new i7 and 300-500 dollar mobo's plus VERY FEW will ever get close to fully maxing everything out. I ran this card all out last night on Crysis with the above settings in the Pro's section and my PSU is a 650w 12v@24a. It ran fine. So don't freak out.

Awesome
Pros: This card is a beast! I have two running in SLI and the performance gain from a 7800GS is incredible. It can pretty much handle any game you throw at it and more. Crysis plays with reasonable FPS but lets face it, that game is overrated big time! Runs cool around 49 degrees idle and 65 under full load. Those of you having problems with heat, your case is probably not being properly ventilated. Make sure you have more intake fans instead of exhaust to create a positive air pressure inside your case. Also this card overclocks pretty well. I can hit 735MHz before it starts artifacting or crashing in games. Make sure to turn the fan on 100% or else things can get pretty hot. When it's overclocked to 735MHz with the fan on 100% under full load, the temperatures reach 71 degrees. If you play Counter Strike Source, you should be getting over 200FPS steady! Not that Counter Strike requires a high end card though, but with my old 7800GS, I was only averaging 30-60FPS.
Cons: Certain games you will notice microstuttering if you are running SLI like COD5 for instance. If there are heavy water details, you will start to see some artifacting. They go away eventually but I guess it's the games engine that can't handle SLI yet. Weird thing is that it only happens sometimes and not all. Most other games are fine.
Other Thoughts: If you decide to get this video card, make sure you have the processor to run this beast or else you will bottleneck the card and won't get the max out of it. I am running two of these cards with an i7 920 and it is fantastic. I upgraded from a single core processor!

Just died on me :(
Pros: Smooth gaming!! very slight jitter In Company of hero's with all settings maxed and 16x AA!! Not bad looking.
Although it died still worth 5 eggs and i was shocked at the shipping speed from new egg very nice!
Cons: Made in china!!!!!!!
Died in a week.
The back side of this card exposes the main board of the card unlike the 280gtx
I had this baby running for about a week then i wake up and go to turn my PC back on to pay some bills and bam no display!!
The fan's on green lights on but nobody's home. I thought at first the temps it reached under full load was a bit too high but still with in spec's(91c) maybe it was a sign there was a issue with this card.During game play i never seen my temps reach over 70c.I'm sure this is a fluke as EVGA is top notch from my point of view. Still figured this was info you guys might want to know.
P.S can someone else post the temps they get under furmark or full load?

For Those Questioning the Power Usage
Pros: !
Cons: !
Other Thoughts: Just wanted to let anyone that is looking at this card that might be turned off by the other reviews talking about the fact that this card uses as much if not more power than the GTX 280 did. Yes in general it uses less power however this is the SSC edition with a huge factory overclock !!! If anyone knows anything about overclocking any part what happens to it's power requirements they GO UP! So naturally this card will still require lots of power even with the die shrink to the GPU! Just something for you all to think about!

...
Pros: ..
Cons: ..
Other Thoughts: with the gtx280 you needed a psu with at least 42amps on the 12V rail. don't expect this to be any different..read up before you buy

FAST
Pros: Fastest single-GPU video card you can buy. I am not a fan of multi-GPU setups because of inconsistent scaling and microstuttering. This card lets me run everything maxed out @ 60 FPS (VSYNC on) The exception being Crysis Wars DX10 Very High 4xAA where I get about 40-45FPS average. Overclocks very well for such a high stock overclock.
Cons: Stock cooler can be loud when it spins up, but this rarely happens unless you change the fan speed manually. VRMs make a bit of noise in some situations but it shouldn't be noticeable over the stock fan as long as it is inside a closed case.
Other Thoughts: Bought this as an upgrade to my GTX 260 192SP. For me it was worth it. System: Q6600 @ 3.6GHz | EVGA GTX 285 SSC | 4GB Gskill | 22" Samsung 226BW | OCZ 700W | Antec 900

Great card but Less Power usage?
Pros: Stunning colors and performance.Easy on the eyes. comes with a sweet game! They made a fix for boards like the asus crosshair where the capacitor inter feared.
Cons: 91+c under full load with low ambient!! (stock air cooler)
Rear circuitry is exposed compared to the 280gtx Where the case covers it.
They say this card uses less power than a GTX 280 THIS IS NOT TRUE!!
Other Thoughts: I had the ssc gtx 280 under furmark extreme burn mode and it ran fine no issues BUT put this GFX card in the same pc and when i clicked the start button with the same settings...
poof!!! The computer shut down. Not the cards fault here but it does draw more power than the 280 gtx
looks like my 20a 650 watt psu has met its match!!
oddly i borrowed a psu from a buddy and it has the same 20a on the +12 rail but its 1000 watt and it runs this baby just fine.
So basically if you don't have a 850+watt 20-40+ amp power supply you can plan on getting one once you add this component to your rigg.
I'm kinda bummed at how hot it runs but hey it means it's doing something! Lookn to buy a water block when i can get one from here at the egg.
I wonder why they say it takes less power to run than the GTX280? Still very pleased!!

Great card, Power hog!
Pros: Simply an awesome card with mindblowing performance. If you want to run it, chances are this card will make light work of it. Haven't got to benchmark with any programs or realworld benchmarking (Crysis) except a few games such as CoD5 (Free games are always welcome), CoD4, and LOTRO. Blew all three out of the water.
Cons: Power hog! Requires one heck of a PSU to get it running steady. Very large card as well, good 10.5" long, although it fits fine in a full case. Also a very heavy card, although I don't know if this is much of a con.
If you don't have two 6 pins on your PSU it requires fours molex plugs which kind of fraks things up when you start using that many, especially with extra fans hooked up.
Other Thoughts: Intel Core 2 Quad 2.4Ghz Q660 6GB DDR2 800 RAM 300GB HDD, 7200RPM ASUS P5N-D Motherboard Windows Vista 32 Corsair 750TX PSU Running all games at a 1440 x 900 resolution with all full settings.
By the way, if you happen to not have the correct PSU I recommend picking up a Corsair 750TX, plenty of plugs and Wattage for the card.

Wow, What a Difference!!!
Pros: Great Card. I upgraded from a 8800GTS 640mb cand and what a difference it makes. I can now play Crysis on very high settings and 4x antialiasing and it runs smooth. I did not even have the option to try the very high settings with the old card. All other games run fantastic with all graphics settings maxed out at 1680 x 1050. Very, very pleased with this card.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: Games I play, Crysis, COD 5, COD 4, Fallout 3, Grid, NFS Undercover, TDU Unlimited. My System: ChiefTec Bravio Full Tower Case PC Power & Cooling 750 Silencer Power Supply E8600 Core 2 Duo at 4.5 GHz on Water cooling Intel DX48BT2 motherboard Mushkin PC12800, 2 x 2GB OC'ed to 1800MHz EVGA 285 GTX SSC 4 WD2500KS Hard Drives in RAID 0

Pros: This was a HUGE upgrade from my 8800gt. It literally destroys any game that i throw at it. I'm really impressed with EVGA, as they always bring in solid products
EVGA fan for life!!! =]
Cons: SIZE! I was scared half to death when i thought this card wasn't going to fit. In the end, it made it. I have a NZXT Blackline Lexa. This card should be able to fit in a mid-size tower case, but you're going to half to fiddle around with your wiring.
Other Thoughts: amazinggg

Great Card.
Pros: This card is amazing. It can handle anything you throw at it. Crysis 1680x1050 with AA 8x and Very high settings it play smooth and quiet. This card doesn't get too hot, which is a +. Ntune works very well with this card.
Cons: Price maybe?
Other Thoughts: Ive owned a 4870 x2 since day 1 it hit the market. I must say I hated it. I'm so glad I changed to nvidia once more, and this card was a great choice, can't wait to get another one of this puppy. A little pricey, but for what gives in return, can't beat it.

Best card on the market
Pros: I used this to replace my aging and unfortunately dieing 7900 gts. This card fixed all my system stability problems. It plays all games at 1920 x 1200 resolution highest graphics settings, 8x antialiasing and 8x antistrophic filtering. This evening I played grid with maxed out settings and fluid gameplay.
Cons: This section is not so much cons but things to consider.
Kinda runs warm compared to my seven series also louder. Also the card is 10.5 in long it will fit in an antec 900 mid tower but you WILL need to play around with your layout.
Other Thoughts: Full tower is highly recommended.

Powerful GPU
Pros: With 2 of these in sli, paired with an x58 and an overclocked i7, there isnt a game these gpus wont max. I get 60+ fps in crysis, 1920x1080 res, max enthusiast settings. Very overclockable cards. 800+ core, 1700+ shader, and 2800+ memory are doable w/o artifacts. EVGA is also releasing a voltage mod utility very soon, and a version update will eventually be available to be compatible with the 285s. More voltage means higher clocks! (if temps slightly higher temps arent a concern for you)
Cons: It makes a high pitched squeeling noise on 100% full load. You most likely wont hear it in game, and definitely wont hear it while searching around the web. But when testing for artifacts on ati tool, its very apparent if the fan speed isnt 100% to cover up the buzzz.
Other Thoughts: If you are having issue overclocking without it crashing, try increasing the IOH voltage on x58 motherboards. Might help the cause. A good buy, but not the best VALUE for the money. gtx295 outperforms a single 285, but the 285 has more ram, and can be better in tri sli vs quad sli 295s.

The cards are awesome!
Pros: Just want to start off by saying AMAZING cards! I have two in SLI and there are no problems! All of my games look stunning at 1920x1200 resolutions. I get an average of over 150FPS in all my games.
Cons: Second card would not show up in device manager at first. Turns out, the card was not sitting all the way in the PCIe slot Not the video cards fault but the Cases. If you have a Coolermaster 830 Case, you might have to bend the mounting bracket on the video card to make it go all the way in.
Other Thoughts: Coolermaster 830 Case i7 920 @ 3.2GHz EVGA x58 Motherboard 6GB Corsair Dominator 1866MHz 2 GTX 285's in SLI Silverstone ST1200 Watt Power Supply Western Digital Velociraptor 300GB Hard Drive Western Digital 1TB Hard Drive Sound Blaster X-FI Titanium Professional Sound Card 24" Samsung TOC Monitor (1920x1200)

Very nice card
Pros: - Fast - Runs Cool - Very Quiet (Except for one thing, read cons...) - BFG Lifetime Warranty - Power consumption, only two 6-pin PCIe power connectors needed, not 1x6 & 1x8 - Came with CoD:WaW when I purchased it, thanks NewEgg! -
Cons: - When stressing the card, it makes a strange whining/hissing noise - Huge, but fits Sonata III case, which is relatively small - Pricey!
Other Thoughts: Runs Vista Aero perfectly. (Was using a GeForce 9400 GT before which had choppy window re-sizing, choppy full-screen video etc.)
Runs Crysis on Ultra-High quality with playable frame rates. Must turn off AA for it to be acceptable.
All other games run smooth as butter.

Beast of a Card
Pros: Runs cooler than I originally though. Very fast, as expected. I get about an average of 30fps on Crysis Warhead with everything maxed (AA off) at 1920X1200 resolution. I get over 100fps in COD5 with everything maxed out so I stopped counting.
Cons: Doesn't overclock very well. I have the core speed set to 715mhz and the memory at 1375 (X2 for effective clock). Anything higher, and it crashes in game. I'm guessing that the voltages are the limiting factor here, because heat isn't an issue. I have the fan speed set to 100% and at my clocks, the card idles at like 35C and after running Crysis for 4 hours, it gets to about 70C. The card can handle temperatures well into the 90s, so heat is definitely not an issue. My room temperature during testing was 21C.
Other Thoughts: When gaming, manually turn up the fan speed to 100% and the temperatures remain very cool.
I have an Antec 1200 case and I still had to move HDDs in order to fit these beast of a card. Even in a full size case, it's still a tight fit. You would have to do some serious rearranging in a mid-tower to fit this card.
