Pros: Great card for the price, idles at 40c ,runs all my games form CSS to Crysis at ease with high settings and res. With Newegg's rebate made it well worth the buy.

Cons: Its big, about nine inch's, so make sure the mobo and case will hold it, I have a full tower.

Other Thoughts: Evga and nvidia for the win, Evga has great service and product, Newegg as always is Newegg "Number one in my book" Cant go wrong with this card.

Pros: Wonderful performance! You can tell a bit with everyday use but where it really shines is when gaming.

Cons: It is quite large, not a problem for my case but could be a hassle/unworkable for a tight case.

Other Thoughts: I didn't find out till later that this is the same, effectively, as the 9800GT but still think its worth it for its improved power consumption.

Pros: It's a lovely little beasty... it's quiet and powerful and gives me the full gaming experience I need.

Cons: It's REALLY BIG... I have no more room to install anything else in my computer now... almost couldn't get my sound card in...

Rating + 5 Great Purchase!

Pros: Very Quiet, Very Cool, Very Sexy. This card is absolutely fantastic! Runs Crysis on full with almost no hicups! SoaSE on full, SupCom on full, GTA 4 on full (though still has memory limitations for GTA4) And all at a great price! I may just get another one later on and SLI it up! Photoshop CS3 actively renders things so much faster now too, 5000px by 5000px images with 50+ FX layers skim across the screen seamlessly!

Cons: It is on the larger size, and because of it I had to reorganize hard drive locations. (though it could fit, my HDD cable connectors were too long and cumbersome once plugged in. Although because of moving the HDDs I now have more productive airflow with the case anyway, so perhaps it was for the better. At least for me. Make sure there is space!

Other Thoughts: Hands down just a monster powerhouse of pure visual awesomeness, as long as your case has the space! And if it doesn't, make room or get a bigger case, because this card is worth it!

Rating + 5 What a performer!

Pros: The card looks attractive and was super easy to install. What a difference between the GTS 250 and my old GeForce 6800! Simply amazing!

I was surprised that EVGA provided an overclocking utility --- I'm not a video card guru but I was under the impression that manufacturers discouraged it. The utility is simple and works very well with the card - it really helps with personalizing your experience.

The card blows air out from behind the PC which I think is a big plus.

Card is pretty quiet despite several reviews claiming that it is noisy. I can hear the fan steadily blowing but I have yet to hear "airplane mode" even at boot.

Cons: The card is very large. This was not a problem for me because I planned ahead and made sure there was room. I would suggest checking your case out before purchasing. If you have a million cards in there, make sure there is a nice long stretch for this card to sit.

The card runs a little warm when gaming but I'm not concerned really --- it seems to idle at 43 Celsius (109.4 F) which is pretty decent. If you don't have great airflow in your case, you can also use the overclocking utility to raise your fan speeds. In my case, I got my card down to 41 Celsius (105.8 F) in a matter of two minutes. I'm sure it could go lower but I put it back to default.

Other Thoughts: I still cannot believe that people think the fans are loud --- when the computer boots you can hear the fan going, but it's certainly not distracting. Once the OS loads, the card sounds like any other fan in the case. Everyone's case is different but everything seems great for me.

The card is a great buy - especially if you purchase around the holidays!

Rating + 5 GTS

Pros: this card is georgus, everything from its shape and colors to it core clock speeds and well, everything
this card is a beast in size and power, i am very glad i went with the 1gig SC edition it performs so much better than any card ive ever had
the gts 250 is the highest gts you can buy next level is the gtx
and this card vs the gts 260 still wins (because its superclocked but who cares)

just so you know im running
Asus PSQL/EPU mobo
4 gigs 1066 corsair ram
2.6 GHz quad core
with the gts 250

and i can run crysis maxed out and still get on average 27 Fps

my old 8500gt could hardly run it at 10fps minimum settings.

Cons: this card is hot, no not like that, its a very warm running card but if you have plenty of fans (in my case 9) it still runs at a very cool temp.

Other Thoughts: some people are saying the fan on the card is insanly loud, but its almost the most silent of all my fans.

Rating + 5 great card

Pros: 1. Evga
2. 1GB
3. stays very cool
4. Evga precision tool
5. free CoD WaW when i purchased mine
6. newegg's fast shipping
7. makes all my games run smoothly on high-max settings, graphics are amazing with this card.
8. great price

80 fps in dalaran in World of Warcraft with maxed settings, 70 fps during raid AoE and 0 lag during AoE

Cons: While playing World of Warcraft i notice my screen flickering as if i had an old CRT monitor (and i don't) my graphics still look amazing and everything else works perfectly but the flickering is getting annoying. i did not have screen flickering issues with my older video cards. i also used this card in my other computers and still had screen flickering issues.

Other Thoughts: regardless of my screen flickering i suggest this card to people who want a great performing card for a great price.

Rating + 4 Very good... but very big

Pros: Runs quietly after a short break-in period; well-ventilated; performs beautifully for the intended purposes (Compiz eye candy, streaming video, and some gaming when I visit :).

Cons: It's BIG, and sticks out inconveniently over the SATA connectors on the motherboard I'm using it with.

Rating + 4 Good Card

Pros: Definite improvement over my 8800GTS (G92). I know it's basically the same card with more memory, but it's still way better and a whole lot cooler (39C vs. 53C at idle). Graphics where a lot better and had more detail. Great user interface for maximum tweaking.

Cons: The online guru's say the G92 card is outdated. A little pricey for "old" technology.

Other Thoughts: It really woke my old system up. Kind of falls into that niche category of upgrade, upgrade, upgrade, before system replacement. Drastic improvement with MOH and COD. Can't wait to get all my parts together for my new system I'm building. I wonder how this would do in SLI? Or better yet, tri SLI? Could have probably got this a little cheaper with another brand, but EVGA seems to have great reviews and a loyal fan base along with a good warranty so I ponied up the extra $$$ for the name.

Rating + 5 Decent Card

Pros: - Runs around 30c idle
- Blows air out the back
- Dual slot design
- Card itself looks nice (not that it matters)

Cons: - None really, maybe that it wasnt cheaper I guess.

Other Thoughts: For those of you who are whining about the fan being at 100% during boot up, thats completely normal. Once it reaches the OS it goes down to normal speed, I don't know what the big deal is.

Another side note, I thought this card was going to eat my games alive, no doubt it is a good card but for 150$ its kind of iffy. I would have probably just got a 9800 GT for 90$ instead of this card and saved some cash.

Rating + 5 Flight Sim X user

Pros: Excellent response in High to Ultra Settings. Using Flight Sim X. This one card did the job for me of two 8600 GTS, 512 MB in SLI. The sun blazes off the surfaces of the planes. I would recommend using two with SLI. Good card for the money!

Cons: Make sure you have enough room in your case. It takes up two back panel slots to fit into one PCI slot. Further, there were a few hesitations in flight in High to Ultra settings.

Cons: Besides for the fact I order on Friday and didn't get my card till the next Thursday! Make sure to have a good amount of space it fit only snug in my full tower!

Other Thoughts: Make sure to register your product!

Pros: I upgraded my stock atx Dell 530 to this card after reading great reviews on newegg. I had to upgrade the power supply to run this beast and it was a tight fit in my mini-tower, but all is well. This thing screams! Plays Modern Warfare 2 in full 1080p.

Cons: It's big and a tough fit for the mini-towers.

Rating + 5 Great card for the $!

Pros: Blows hot air out of the case. My PS is putting out less heat [stress] than my last 8800gs. Runs all my games maxxed even Crysis on Very high settings gets 28fps+!!! Far Cry 2 maxxed @60fps avg. Modern Warfare 2 maxxed @120fps. Bioshock maxxed @85-95fps. Great improvement over my 8800gs! Going from 96 pipes to 128 & superclocked made a huge diff.! I'm sure a gtx 260 is better, but not really needed at this time for my games. Best bang for the buck right now.

Cons: Only one, came clocked @738 not 756 on GPU! So i bumped it up and got only 1 degree diff. on thermals. Probably not a great OC'er,temps max @78c. Also not 55nm tech. chip.

Other Thoughts: All the performance I was looking for and 1Gb of ram.
Fan is very strong @100%, runs 75% @ 78c. I use this to blow the dust out every so often. Ha Ha! Fan ramps up and down smoothly!
My system=
AMD Phenom 8650 Triple Core 2.3Mhz OC'ed to 2.7Mhz
Asus M3A78-CM Mb
4Gb G Skill PC 8500 ram @940Mhz or 7.5Gb/sec.

Pros: Runs well under Windows XP. Not too bad on heat. Has a heat vent in the back of the card to vent the heat right out of the computer!! Well made on that idea. Drivers are easy to update from Nvidia's web site.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Hopefully it will run okay on Windows 7!!

Rating + 5 Sweet Graphic Card on Budget

Pros: Great card. Not sure if Dragon is a good bench mark, but it runs at all graphics at the highest level maintaining upper 20s (in full battle or with lots of fire) to the 50s fps. I also have a Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400 Yorkfield 2.66GHz LGA 775 95W Quad-Core Processor Model. Nothing is overclocked at this point. Overall I am very pleased.

Cons: Fan is a little loud. It is the loudest fan in the system. However, it is still reasonable.

Other Thoughts: I would highly recommend this card if you are in the low-mid range budget.

Cons: For some reason there is a line in the middle of the screen when playing games or watchin movies. can really tell itz there if i move the mouse quick up n down in a game n i have the lastest drivers installed so most likely im'a have to do a RMA 4 this product which pretty much suchs .

Rating + 3 Has one unacceptable flaw (for me)

Pros: Continues the G92 (a proven performer) at a good price/performance point.

Cons: Had to make it my backup card. That stupid fan starts up in "airplane" mode and stays there until it reaches some operating system. Have used several other EVGA cards in this same system and none of them exhibit this behavior. Tech support had no solution for it ( will need a BIOS update to fix).

Other Thoughts: If you're deaf or work in a very noisy environment, maybe this won't matter to you.

Pros: I'm not one to blow a lot of money on my computer so the price on this was ideal, It's 10X Quieter than my 8800GTS 320MB and also does way more. Great buy for anyone on a budget that needs to run today's more detailed games

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: I love this card and newegg is definitely my favorite way of buying the things I need when I need them fast

Rating + 4 Quiet Value

Pros: Very quiet and I believe it runs cooler too. I replaced a 8800GT with this card. It was a good upgrade for the money.

Cons: The card takes a double slot and it's fairly long. I installed it on a Asus micro atx board and the card covered the SATA and IDE ports. I had to buy new right angle sata cables and I lost the use of two sata ports. I recommend using this card on larger boards if you don't want install issues.

Other Thoughts: My 8800Gt paired with an AMD Dual core 6000+ cpu was enough to add a few degrees to my small computer room. IN the winter time all I needed to do was keep the door closed and the room would stay 5 degrees warmer than the rest of the house. I may have to get a heater now with this cooler running card.

Rating + 5 Amazing!

Pros: Super easy install of card/drivers. No problems what so ever, the included software for oc'ing is great! The software it comes with to oc also works with any evga card thats an 8 series or higher (i tried it on my older comp that has an 8600 and it oc'd nicely and safely. The exhaust goes out the case through the back of the card (you can see the vent on the pictures. It comes with an adapter for the 6 pin power connector so you can use 2 hd power connectors and still run it. The oc'ing is also compatible with the logitech gaming boards and you can have your temps and settings show on the lcd screen on your board.

Cons: This card is HUGE. I didnt look at the dimensions on this thing and I wish I had. I was going to put this in an older comp while I finish my new comp build (core-i7 build) and it wouldnt fit with the cooler on my cpu, and it takes two slots in the back to fit which I didnt have. The fan gets loud.

Other Thoughts: so far... raidmax smilodon case (with psu), foxxconn inferno katana GTI mobo, 8 gigs Gskilll Ripjaw Ram (4x2), EVGA GTS250 gpu, Core i5 lynnfield processor. (yeah, just the i5, i know...but I'm still working on it)

Rating + 5 Solid entry level card

Pros: Power dongles are included to encourage amatuer builders to fully power their card, and the built in cooling case is a lot better than what I had on my XFX 9800. I like that it moves air properly instead of just forcing air onto the device.

The price is right, 135.00 compared to 500+ for the high end nvidias, this thing puts out plenty of power for anyone who just wants to play a game and have it look good. Overclocking is so stable and easy to do with the included tools, I have to wonder if it's really OC'ed or not.

Loaded up on the first try, and runs my favorite (although slightly outdated) games, like RE5, at full effects and resolution without sacrificing framerates below 40 fps.

Cons: Because of that great cooling case, this card is ENORMOUS. I had to rearrange my cable layout and I have a full sized tower, and it barely fit behind my drives. Definately check those measurements before you buy.

Other Thoughts: Software was a little tricky. I had to install it on top of another card because I had no onboard video adapter, so I wound up having to install it, then uninstall it using a third party driver cleaner, then reinstall the drivers from Nvidia's site. But once I got through that minor inconvienence, and really that's normal for good hardware management, everything ran great.

Rating + 4 Stopgap

Pros: Seems well built. Good overclocking potential (with loud fan under load or aftermarket cooling). Standard Nvidia drivers, CUDA support, compatible with third party tweaking software. Only needs one 6-pin power connector. 9.5 inch length. Exhausts hot air out the back of the case. Free game is kind of fascinating, in a boring sort of way.

Cons: Loud fan under load. Needs its own 24 amp 12v rail. Stock performance competent, but not exactly breathtaking.

Other Thoughts: This is a middling video card, which I bought to put into a middling system. It really is a lot faster than my old 9400, and I didn't have to go through the process of converting from Nvidia to ATI drivers. If I were strictly a gamer, I would not have chosen this card (I would have gone with an HD 57xx), but I have a large video transcoding project ahead. I read on the intertubes that CUDA is still better supported than ATI Stream, so I took the safe, familiar route. I think I'll have to spring for a quiet aftermarket cooler, because I'll be running the GPU overnight in my bedroom. The free game takes it up to 4 stars.

Pros: Small card, fit easily in my Tt LANBox without having to remove the drive cage. Low power requirements.

Cons: For the money, if you have the power & space, you could probably get a newer-generation card on sale.

Rating + 5 Decent upgrade for the $$$

Pros: Picked up as an upgrade for my aging 8600GTS that could barely pull ~30fps in LOTRO with settings set rather high. (and even though these settings were MUCH lower than what the game would auto-suggest based on hardware present) Also seems to have alleviated the dreaded LOTRO "crash to blackscreen" issue experienced lately by many with no resolution forthcoming from their devs.
Now crunching through the game with a fairly steady 56+ fps and hardly any load lag when zoning into new areas.
WoW still hums along with 50+ fps too, but I had no issues with WoW and my 8600GTS /shrug.

Cons: None really. had to re-install the card a 2nd time when my BIOS would not recognize any video device present at boot up. Other than that loaded latest nVidia driver package from the start and it runs fine. once the fan slows down after the initial "full-blast" at bootup, it is a rather quiet card.

Pros: very good card overall fast cpu and for the budget gamer can run FPS and WoW at max graphics with no trouble i am very happy massive improvement over the geforce 7900gto and ok improvement over the 9800GT 1gb Big time improvment over the 9800 GTX+ oc

Cons: its huge much bigger then the 9800 series but its worth the size

Other Thoughts: very quiet fan if you dont want to spend a ton of cash here is your card im sure you can max almost any game today with this

Pros: Great card. Definitely a great buy for $150. Runs Borderlands, Crysis, and all Source games (L4D, HL2 Ep 2) at full crank with no stuttering. I get a steady 30-40 fps or above in Crysis at all very high settings.

Cons: The card itself is gargantuan and somewhat loud, but that's nothing new anymore.

Other Thoughts: So far so good. Here's my current specs:

Rating + 3 Good Card I think

Pros: It shows some improvement over my old 9600 gt, but not as much as I had hoped for. Size was ok. It seems smaller than the other 9800 and it just barely fit in my machine.

Cons: For some reason my machine runs just a little slower now. Not sure on why it does this and I have downloaded the latest drivers. If anyone has any input on how to make it run smoother and fast it would be much appreciated.

Other Thoughts: Overall it seems like a good card but don't expect it to be much better than your older ones.

I have a: HP - Pavilion with AMD Phenom™ II X4 Quad-Core Processor and a 550 watt PSU.

Pros: Newegg shipping was very fast (As usual). Ordered Sunday evening, package arrived Wednesday morning.

I enjoy gaming just as much as the next guy and the card seems to handle everything. CODMW runs flawless and extremely stable. 1Gb of memory makes movement in and out of the game much smoother. Didn't think I would notice the difference between 512 and 1Gb; however, there is one!

Precision software is an added bonus.

Rates a 6.9 on W7 Windows Experience.

Cons: Card fan starts up very loud when computer boots, but goes away once at the desktop. I've heard others talk about this. Could be just the card warming itself up.

Although packaged well, card had some minor scratches on the plastic as if it had been slightly used.

Comes with precision software for easy OC'n. Does this mean they want you to OC your card??? Warranty void???

Came packaged with $60 3D glasses and a free month of WoW? Understanding these were free is one thing, but they both are worthless! I would have much rather taken WAW, like some others received, over these. :)

Other Thoughts: My 8800GTX went down recently and I needed to get a quick replacement. This card stuck out because of the spec's in addition to the price. I'm not wealthy by any stretch of the imagination, but wanted to get something that would last me for a couple of years and be dependable when playing new(er) games.

This card seems to do just what I needed. Could have gone much higher with a GTX260 or 280, but wasn't willing to pay the extra cash. If you are looking to get a card that won't break the wallet and gives you quality graphics, this is a good choice.

Although I've had the card under a week, I'm hoping it will hold up through the countless hours of MW2 which steadily approaches...

Pros: It's a great card at a very good price point. Plugged it in, downloaded W7 drivers, plugged them in and it just works.

Cons: The price has dropped a little since I got my 2. Bad for me, good for you.

Other Thoughts: Since I my previous builds are Intel based boards, this is my first SLI build. ASRock X58 Extreme MB. For the reviewer who was going to get a second for SLI, like the shoe add says, "just do it!"

Pros: -Great for the price
-Easy to Overclock (have mine up to 820 core, 1932 shaders)
-Even after intense game play card stays cool (55-58c)

Cons: I went from a 8900 GTS to this card and didn't notice a huge difference.

Other Thoughts: All in all, faster load speeds, PCI e 2.0 makes adds some extra speed, 1gb ram is nice.

Pros: I've had this card for 3 months now and it's ran perfectly every day. I play lots of shooters like CoD:WaW and Team Fortress 2. It handles every game i have really well. My specs are 3Gb DDR2 RAM, Intel Duo 2.83 Ghz, 600 watt PSU. If you play games on Pc this is the card to get. The price is a great deal and there aren't any games still that it can't handle. Buy buy buy this card

Cons: Your case may or may not have space for the card. It's a relatively shorter length than most high end cards. Nothing to complain about really

Other Thoughts: Came with Call of Duty WaW which was a big plus.

Pros: it ran well, good framerates in tf2 ~150-200fps - maxed

Cons: ran quite hot
was opened on arrival - stuffed into bubble wrap - no static bag, no plastic casing
little to no improvement over my 9800gtx+ 512mb

Other Thoughts: get a 9800gtx+ - the shrunk 55nm die makes for a much cooler load, and you can get even more mileage if you replace with a vf1000 zalman cooler, provided by newegg also. in addition, watch for the warranty when dealing with evga. this card is only for 2 yrs, while an identical 9800gtx+ is for life

Rating + 5 WHOOOO!! That's fast!

Pros: WOW!! Ok this assesment will be from teh user side of me. Plain and simple. I play EQ2, WOW, COD, MOH, and the new Jade Emp. MAXED OUT every one of their setting with no problems. Smooth, fast. Noticing details I never saw before. I went from dual 256meg SLI setup to these two and I am loving it. I have a 22" monitor as well and the video sizes are maxed out as well. COD4 and Modern Warefare play very well on it as well. Happy and satisfied and didn't spend that much.

Cons: HUGE!!!! but it is a very acceptable compromise

Other Thoughts: 3dmark06 still was slow on the last test battle scene but the games play very well so I am not sure that i will use that as a benchmark anymore.

Pros: Beautiful. runs every game ive thrown at it at full video settings. no problems ever. nuff said.

Cons: absolutely nothing. at all. period.

Other Thoughts: overheated my motherboard a bit because i didnt have the fan running at a reasonable speed. I recomend the EVGA precision software if you dont already have it to control the fan speeds and other things like that.

I highly recomend this graphics card and EVGA. from my experiences they are a great company to buy from.

Pros: It's amazingly fast and powerful. I love it. I need a couple more of this beast, and for how cheap it is for the performance, it's pretty much a steal.

Cons: Massive

Other Thoughts: If you try to put this in anything less than a full tower you're probably going to have some problems. I threw it in the mid tower I had just recently bought and it's eating half of the motherboard. Fortunately I'm slowly building my other PC that will have this card put in once it's up and running.

Rating + 5 Awesome value!

Pros: This card is a great value. I bought it back in June for my first build and reviewed it once. Here's an update.

If you're considering the "superclocked edition," consider the DIY superclocked edition. Using EVGA precision (included with CD) you can overclock the card modestly to the same specs as the superclocked edition.

Core Clock: 771 ; Shader Clock: 1890 ; Memory Clock 1123

This increases your FPS slightly (about 5 fps on average in FurMark).

Cons: I don't have two or a GTX 295, but on a serious note: the fan is on the noisy side I guess.

Not really a con, but idles in the 50s and the max while playing Crysis was 77 (81 was the highest I've seen and that was after 10 minutes of the fuzzy donut in FurMark).

Other Thoughts: I can say proudly that "yes, it does run crysis." At 4X AA, all settings on Very High (except shadows on High), I run comfortably in the 30-40fps average range. [Even at 8X AA and all settings on Very High, it runs better than my laptop runs WoW.]

Games like Oblivion, WoW, Fallout 3, etc. get destroyed by this card.

It's a good mid-range card, so stop looking and buy it!

Rating + 5 Exceptional Value

Pros: Performance is excellent for World of Warcraft. 1680x1050 w/ maximum settings runs brilliantly especially where you want it to: Dalaran @ peak hours FPS > 30, 25 ToC/25 Ulduar FPS > 40, IoC/Arena FPS > 40 and Fraps FPS > 35.

Card runs cool given adequate air flow. Installation is quick and drivers work. Card was installed over lunch in less than 25 minutes. 3D works! Surprising depth of game play rendered with card while using a standard Samsung 2232GW. Additional driver required for 3D rendering, obtained quickly from NVIDIA. 3D does impact FPS to some extent, but is still adequate.

Cons: The card has a large physical profile which is to be expected given its performance. Make certain your tower has adequate space in in addition to adequate air flow in this space. Not a con, merely something to be mindful of. No issues or complications.

Other Thoughts: This is the card you want. The price is right while the performance is stellar. If you have been using an older card that uses DDR2 and has 512MB or less, take the next step. Upgraded from an older DDR2 512MB (value card $50) and the difference was noticed the moment shadows could be rendered without excessive FPS loss.

Fraps runs in raids and the FPS remains stable around 35. If you want to capture full-screen videos, this card is sufficient.

All around great card. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking to upgrade from an older card or is building a new system and wants exceptional performance for demanding gaming.

Note: You have to try the 3D. If you play WoW, just turn it on during the pulls to Hodir. Jormungars and AoE spells is simply remarkable.

Rating + 5 Tally, you have to stop hiring winos for the shipping dept.

Pros: It's in a nice coolermaster storm scout with a Callisto, for cutting HDVideo and has all the specs necessary to haul the HDV freight.
The card is just right..........but...

Cons: It's not a new card. It was in shrink wrap but the seal on the box has been opened and there are marks on the pinouts.

This card, if not actually used, was at least seated in a motherboard at some point. And I doubt it was the factory test. The scuffs are considerable.

** I'm not a happy camper... you'd think I'd at least get an "open box" price on it !!! **

Other Thoughts: Tally's crew has NEVER sent me anything like this before...so...

I'm giving Newegg the benefit of the doubt.
I'm going to imagine someone needed to do something like, check the clearance on some motherboards and just seated in them and took it right back out... just as a test.

Hope I'm somewhere close to right.

Rating + 5 Great Budget Card

Pros: Great card. Replaced my 8800 GTS SLI setup with one of these babies. Right now theres a nice price on these. Was about to buy a 512 MB 9800 GTX+ but these are only about 10-15 bucks more for 1 GB on the same GPU.

Cons: None so far, although if you have an 8800 series card and PhysX installed remember to not only uninstall your Nvidia drivers before installation but your PhysX driver as well.

Other Thoughts: Not sure why a few former reviews say this card is comparable to their 8800 GTS's in performance. The 9800GTX+ and 250 blow them out of the water. Maybe they're gaming at 1280x1024. @ 1680x1050 there is a large visual difference, especially in DX10 environments.

Rating + 5 I'm happy, feel like I got what I paid for

Pros: Lightning fast with anything I throw at it at 1980x1080 resolution, runs fairly cool compared to earlier generations of GeForce GPUs, Nvidia's driver development and quality blow ATI out of the water in my opinion. Runs stable on Windows7 x64 RTM with latest drivers released several days ago. DX11 may be coming soon but I see no realistic reason to pay ultra-premium for those cards when they are released when it will still likely take a couple years before DX11 games are mainstream anyway, and by that time the cost of DX11 cards will of course have dropped.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Its a full size card, so make sure your case can accommodate it, and make sure you have a quality PSU that can kick out 24A cumulative voltage on its +12v rails. It uses a single 6pin PCI-E power connector on its top.

Rating + 5 A decent card for a decent budget

Pros: 500 W power supply is enough to power it
Can handle Fallout 3 at Ultra high (max) settings with no serious issues, but I'd rather play on high to save on power and heat
Quiet fan, doesn't add to the overall noise level of my system
EVGA seems to be a pretty reliable company, its even assembled in the US!
Good price/performance for the casual or budget gamer. Anything higher requires a substantial increase in price for diminishing returns.

Cons: Price, you're paying for the EVGA brand name, but since all makers follow Nvidia's specs closely, there's not much difference.

Other Thoughts: Although it sports a 200 series name, this card is basically a 9800 GTX+ with double the memory. Pretty confusing. Nvidia's ridiculous naming systems aside, I don't mind whatever they call it as long as I pay 9800 prices for it.

Rating + 5 Very Good Gaming Card

Pros: Replaced x2 GT 8600 cards and I must say should have purchased this card much sooner. This card destroys the FPS of the previous 2 cards by about 10-15 FPS. Running my games at Very High to Max settings is no problem. Plus this card runs much cooler then the SLI config I had.

Cons: Like everyone says the card is large, but if u have multiple x16 slots then u should have no problem.

Other Thoughts: I started with just the one card to see how it runs and will deffinently be adding a second to my computer.

Rating + 5 Fast card for the money.

Pros: Very fast card. Able to run Far Cry 2 all settings maxed and average fps in the 40's to 50's, never dropping below 30.

EVGA has excellent warranty support (lifetime). Also, the overclocking utility called EVGA precision is very nice and works well.

Card runs cooler than expected. My old evga 7900GT never dropped below 75C. However this one, even when overclocked to 800MHz still sits at 64-66C when gaming. Very impressive.

Cons: The manual mentions how to use the two pin HDCP cable, but yet the card does not include one. However this seems to be pretty common.

Other Thoughts: Definitely going to SLI this once the cost drops a bit more. Doesn't come close to a 295 GTX, but for the price this is a very hard card to beat.

Pros: Plays WAW smoothly and fast! Handles most resolutions on high settings. Does everything I want in a video card. Runs fairly cool compared to the 9800GT it replaced. Never goes over 56 C during games and no studdering!

Cons: Wish it was a little cheaper. Money is tight with most people right now and I just happen to be one of them.....

Other Thoughts: Would buy this card over anything else in this price range-no question about it. When I get the time, I will play with it a bit and see what kind of frame rates I am getting. Working too much really cuts into my gaming time.....I think I will get over it, though.

Rating + 5 It's good

Pros: This card performs VERY well for most games. All the essentials are butter for this red hot glowing knife of a video card. However obviously it's not going to handle crysis perfectly and the only other game I've seen it dip in is ArmA 2 but what can you do? I blame the lack of performance on my 2gb of ram bottlenecking my rig but this card will handle just about anything you throw at it, be it any of the call of dutys, Fallout. I have yet to reinstall Farcry 2 but seeing as how my old 8800GT ran that fairly well in DX10 albeit without AA I doubt this card would have any problems.

Cons: It's big but what can ya do?

Other Thoughts: I pretty much got this card to replace my (a little over 1 year old) 8800GT due to it crapping out on me. I do have to say however I'm kind of disappointed. with 1gb of video memory, 128 stream processors, clocking at 756mhz, the specifications just about double the numbers on my 8800GT. However performance-wise it's only a minor improvement, I'm seeing really not more than 10-15fps more, and if it's a hefty game like ArmA 2 better knock it down to a 5-10fps improvement. Maybe this is just coming from the fact that before my 8800GT I was using an 8600GTS which was a HUGE difference performance-wise nearly running 50% better, but hey I needed a new video card and this one was cheap and although it's not a huge step forward, it's a step forward.

Pros: i havent had this card for long (about 7 days now)...but it runs awesome. i upgraded from a pci-e16 7900gt to this, and also a core 2 duo processor (2.2ghz). i run crysis on high and get 60fps, average. it dips a bit lower occassionally. i havent had a hangup yet, but im only about 30minutes into singleplayer.

the only other game i have tried so far is Call of Duty 4, pretty much all maxed out, and i get a constant 92fps.

Cons: none, yet.

Other Thoughts: i had pulled everything out my case b/c i was doing a motherboard and cpu upgrade along with this card. the last 2 things to install where the hd bay & this card...i installed the card first & couldnt get the hd in, i tried pulling the card out but the back end wouldnt release, so i had to bend the heck out of the hard drive cage to work it in.

Rating + 5 Awesome SLI Card

Pros: Have been running a single one of these for quite some time now and was wanting to upgrade. I was unsure if i should wait till the fall when the DX11 Cards come out or go with a 275 or 285. I decided to get another one of these for SLi, and I'm glad I did. At 1920X1080, the single card ran most of my games on High/Very high settings. With Two i can max every game out (Except Crysis of course). Easy to install, my Computer recognized it right away and SLI was up and running.

Cons: I guess you can say it is big, but honestly if you buy a 200 series video card, or any new video card for that matter, and complain about size, you need to rethink your set up before you start.

Other Thoughts: Core i7 920 @ 3.00 GHZ

Pros: I love this card! I went from stock graphics to crystal clear, vivid, exceptional gaming experiences. The card has all of the connections that I need, the install was easy, and the performance is awesome! Included software is easy to use and well designed. Fan is quiet during normal use, but you can definately hear it when you are putting it to the test. I like it because it lets me know that the thing is working!

Cons: The card is huge!

Other Thoughts: If you have a small case, you may have an interesting time installing the card. I have a mid tower, and I had to do some creative rearranging to get it to fit. If my mb had 90 degree sata connections it would have been a lot easier to install, but that is no fault of EVGA's.

Pros: I plopped this card into a stock Dell Inspiron 530 w/Q6600, and it has ran very well for about 3 months now. Hands down the best card I would have confidently put into this machine without upgrading the power supply. It has been a huge step up from 8800 GTS 320MB... Playing at 1900x1080 (24") with MAX settings for most games (Crysis and GTA IV being the only exceptions when it comes to games I play/played). Runs much cooler and quieter than the old card as well.

Cons: Had to move my hard drive for it to fit, and it blocks 2 SATA ports... But moving a HD is trivial and the ports were not being used (nor will they). For my intent and purposes, this card has no cons at the moment.

I'm not really sure how future-proof it is... However, with the shift of game-makers focusing their development on consoles, I'm sure it will be fine until the next Xbox or Playstation 4 comes out (well into next year?)

Other Thoughts: Was pretty sure but not 100% sure that it would be stable in my stock Dell machine, but I have no doubts now after several 8+ hour, max settings, 1900x1080 gaming sessions (Fallout3, UT3, Mass Effect, TF2, Oblivion, Half Life 2, Left 4 Dead) with not one crash, lock-up or issue over the past few months. Recommend specs are 450W and 24A, but my PSU is rated @ 350W and 30A. Oh, and the Dell Dual Cores only came with a 300W PSU back when I purchased in December '08, so I wouldn't do the same with one of those.

I plan on building my own rig when I have more time/experience/money, but my Q6600/4GB DDR2/500 GB HD/GTS250 = Decent gaming rig for <$700 (not including monitor) for the time being :D

Rating + 5 Decent Deal

Pros: -1GB of GDDR3
-Runs all my games MAXed out on a 1680*1050 monitor at a smooth 60fps or more (tested with HAWX, Fallout 3, SFIV, Prototype)
-Quiet
-CUDA support (fast encodes with badaboom, about 250fps converting from SD to PSP quality)
-Fantastic for everyday usage and gaming sessions

Cons: -Very large, make sure your case can hold it, this card covers some of the SATA ports on my motherboard

Rating + 5 Great card for the engery

Pros: Great card for any machine, cost effective as well. With only needing 450w of power you can use standard power packs which saves you even more money. It runs very cold and has a very nice overclocking software with it. This allows you to overclock all aspects of the card as you feel fit. So far I have thrown everything at it I can and have yet to slow or even phase it. I am talking 200+ man seiges in MMOs and all was fine on good / high detail.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: You can get a few better cards that squeak into the 450w range but it can be hard to do so.

Rating + 5 QUIET!

Pros: This is the quietest video card I have ever owned.

I don't do gaming, just graphics, and this card is by far the bestt I've ever had.

and it's QUIET.
(I'm using the included software fan control which defaults to 35% but even at 50 or even 70% it's still quieter than my older nVidia.

Runs very cool too, around 42 - 48c.

The low power consumption was a real plus for me too. In fact, that's why I ordered this card.

Cons: makes me want to try out some games and I'm afraid I'll get hooked like everyone else is.

Other Thoughts: I went with EVGA because of a friend's recommendation. Looks like a great company and they have excellent support.

this card is a good choice for anyone who needs fast and quiet.

did I mention that it's quiet?

Rating + 5 Nice Video Card!

Pros: Its from EVGA, Runs very cold, not to expensive, Card size not as long as the 260, Great performance! No need for a monster psu!

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: This is the best of the g92 chip, I already have in my other systems the 8800 gt in sli, 9600 gso and the 9600 gt and they all give good performance, This GTS 250 runs all my games smoother and good framerates and is the better card of the batch of g92's My card runs cold 38c idle and 62c HDR (prime) load Amazzing! Im a demanding gamer and must have 100+ fps in all my games and this card delivers that at 1024x768 . If you want those type of frames with 1900x resolution only the GTX 295 can do that! do your research! Im very happy with this GTS 250 and it was in my price range.
My system with this card: AMD Phenom II x2 550 oc 3.7 3gigs corsair XMS 2 ASUS M3N78-Pro all computer parts bought from Newegg! This Card will hold me over till Nvidia come with a New GPU chip that will deliver better performance at a decent price, The GTX 260 performance over this card is small and req more wattage and I want to keep cost down over here.

Rating + 5 Love it, but HOT!!!

Pros: HUGE Upgrade from my 8800 GTS 320 Mb! The RAM is where I saw the biggest improvement! Games like crysis loaded faster, and GTA IV Runs smoother! Now just to save up for the second for SLI.

Cons: Maxes out at 80 C in my case... yet my case is COMPLETELY full. Just ordered 2 more fans to add to my case, hope it helps cool it down a bit.

Other Thoughts: This was probably one of the pest purchases I have made withen the last year! hope this card lasts! For now, my old 8800 GTS is a Physics card. And if you register your card on EVGA's site, you can get two free games, and 3d mark vantage free!

Pros: I know this is a rebrand of another Geforce card, oh well. I needed this card for a customer that wanted to build a hackintosh. Does the job and is fully supported in Mac OSX Leopard with Quartz Extreme and Core hardware accelerated! TIP: USE EFI STRINGS!!!

Cons: takes up 2 pci slots! remember it needs PCIe power from the PSU!

Other Thoughts: Customer setup:

Rating + 5 EVGA 1GB 250 GTS

Pros: Comparable in speed to the 8800 GTS I replaced with it. Uses less energy & puts out less heat than the 8800. The 8800 kept killing my 500w power supply. I bought this a 680w psu and have not had any troubles.

Cons: Not compeditive with GTX series cards, but holds its own.

Other Thoughts: Similar to the 8800 series in performance, sligtly faster, much cooler. Since I changed both graphics and psu at same time I can't say if it was efficient enough to run stably on a 3 year old 500w power supply or not.

Rating + 5 Nvidia Geforce EVGA GTS 250 1GB

Pros: I Just Ordered This Card And it Comes with COD: WAW and that is why i bought this card for $147.99 + $2.99 rushed order. This card looks very nice and big a__ to, but my computer can hold this beast it has 580W power supply. 2GB DDR 2 800Mgz Ram and 320 gb HDD and a 8600 GT Running right now but will run GTS 250 in 2-3 days.

Cons: Well this card is not the best but it is sure better then my old Nvidia 8600 GT that was only running at 540MHz core clock and 800MHz Memory Clock thats bad compare to this card. also 450W is a good power for this type of a card and the prize too. If this card was $170 i would still buy it so 150 to 140 is a good prize for this bad boy that gets over 100 FBS on CoD: 4 MWF and CoD: WAW.

Other Thoughts: 756 is very fast for $150 card. but if you could afford something over $200 i would go with an ATI HD 4000 series X2 or an Nvidia Geforce GTX 275 or 280 to 295 Witch is $529.99 Now. so stay with this Awesome GTS and support future Windows Seven thats coming in October this year. By the way i would stay with Nvidia then going To ATI Because by old card was an ATI X1600 that was frekin loud and slow as me to so stay with Geforce Gts or Gtx or if you desire an 8800 GT SLI then Go For it. ATI Sucks only The Radean HD 4850 X2 or 4870 X2 and above that card. also this card gets a 6.1 windows 7 score thats good

Rating + 4 Great card and it fits

Pros: Fast for one of the older nvidia GPU's. The size! every one compalins about how big the nvidia cards are but the ATI cars are all the same or larger. This one only measures 9 inches. I would have bought a 295 but there 10.5 inches and wont fit in my case. So this is the fastest card that will fit.

Cons: Dosent have the akimbo cooler my 9800Gt had.

Other Thoughts: Why have vidoe cards got so big?

Rating + 5 wow what an upgrade

Pros: Very fast video card. Met my expectacions. Its a great budget gaming card. I can play all of my games now all at highest settings. Crysis Warhead maxed is very playable. Fallout 3 and Farcry 2 maxed. The card stays realatively cool no overheating issues at all, but i run the fan at 100% while playing games because the noise doesnt bother me.

Cons: There are no real cons.
I just wish that video cards didnt require so much power. At 100% fan it is the loudest fan in my case by far but that is to be expected.

Other Thoughts: I run this on a 500 watt power supply 12V@28 amps.
The power supply was bought back in 2004 and has no pcie power conectors, but with the supplied adapter is not a problem. It was a high quality power supply when i bought it that is why it works on this new of a card.

Pros: Performs like a champ. Stays cool, and its quiet. Getting 500fps on CS 1.6 and 150-200 on CS Source. Soon to try the COD game that came with the card.

Cons: Its HUGE. Had to move my HDD down 2 slots. Slim designs, and some mid cases take caution.

Rating + 4 Great Card

Pros: +Stays relatively cool for where it is located in my case (I've never seen it go about 76C).
+Only needs one power connector and it is located at the top of the card
+Good performance overall

Cons: -No HDMI out
-No case stickers/badges (call customer service 888-881-3842 for EVGA stickers, but I don't know where to get an Nvidia one)
-Free CoD: WaW 5 days after I order!
-Pretty big (but what cards aren't these days)

Other Thoughts: On max settings (except for viewing distance, which is a tick or two down), I get 60fps everywhere in WoW. Fallout 3 maxed settings is smooth as silk. CoD4 also maxed runs great. I haven't tried Crysis, but I'm sure it'll run it with a few settings adjusted slightly. [You'll have to forgive me, I'm not accustomed to testing fps].

I think it's supposed to be 55nm manufacturing process, but hardware monitor says it's 65nm and was manufactured in June 2008

Windows 7 rating: 6.1 (grab the drivers off of Nvidia's website, since EVGA drivers do not support Windows 7)

This is my first PC build, and I'm pretty happy. EVGA is sending me a couple stickers for free and now I just have to track down an Nvidia case badge. I'll keep EVGA in mind for my next build.

Rating + 5 Works great

Pros: Runs cool (considering my poorly vented case), SLI, EVGA brand, and the power plugs into the SIDE of the card! (wires are not smashed by my drive cage). No difficulty installing. I just uninstalled all video drivers prior to removing my 8800 inserted the 250s and SLI bridge, and installed the latest nVidia software and drivers. Boom, they work.

Cons: The size could be an issue in some cases if the HD cage is too close. Mid towers should be fine.

Other Thoughts: I know it's not a huge jump from my 8800gts OC, But I only had one, and could not find a second like it. Yes, I just needed another with the same gpu, but I wanted the clocks to match, and Newegg no longer sells the MSI one.

These are working great!

Rating + 4 Great for the price

Pros: 55nm, cheap, smaller than its bigger brothers, quiet fan

Cons: PCI-E connection is slightly small requiring a bit of force to get the connector on, could be a fluke with mine and not others of course. Not quite as fast as a 8800gtx.

Other Thoughts: For the price this card performs great. I had a 8800gtx die on me and this was what I could afford to replace it. It doesn't quite have the horsepower due to its weaker memory bus, but its quite close and in most areas it performs just as good. It runs MUCH cooler than my 8800gtx did, cutting case temp's down quite a bit which is perfect. I recommend it if you cannot afford anything above $150.

Pros: Its cheap, around 150$. It can play Crysis on High once overclocked.

Cons: Not to my standards.

Pros: Upgraded from a radeon 9800 pro. Much better then the 9800. No heating problems and it pluged in and played well.

Cons: Large card, had to remount my hard drive inside my case, other then that it was great.

Other Thoughts: Should have spent a little more and went with the 260 GTX.

Rating + 5 Good Card but Skip it

Pros: This Card is good i upgraded form a 9600GT which is about 30-40% upgrade, Its a good product over all but it still is in essence a 9800GTX+ so its really still a 9 series card and no where near the ammount of power to a GTX series. Dont get me wrong it can pack a punch even though its just a i tiny bit faster then the 9800GTX+

Cons: Rehashed 9800GTX+ sadly, Just a tiny bit faster.
Uses the same old G92 Core GPU
No Case Sticker :(

Other Thoughts: I had this card for almost 3 months and i did the STEP-UP program EVGA offers i HIGHLY!!! RECOMMEND!!! to step up to the GTX 260 c216 55nm like i did it was only $48 and i still got the use out of this card for around 80days and loved it. Seriously upgrade its cheap and the prices are dropping already im sure you can step up to the 260 for less then what i paid. If you bought this card great take advantage of the Step-up program once you spent atleast 2 months enjoying the GTS 250 and the GTX 260 is just purely amazing in performance for price ratio. Im so glade i stepped up my vantage, scores went from 8300 to 13000 easily, using the old Phenom x4 9650 too! 4GB GSkill 800MHz, and ASUS M4N72-E 750a.

Rating + 5 Quality Gaming at Fraction of Price

Pros: Very light, Very powerful, Quiet, Does not overheat, Strong runner, with EVGA tag I know I can trust. Scored 1000+ points higher than my old card in 3dmark 06.

Cons: Didn't get the jump in performance I was hoping for but for $150 how can i complain?

Other Thoughts: I upgraded from an 8800gts 320mb AC3 version i bought back in 10/07 for $330! This thing outperforms that for only $150. Do the math. My PC gaming time has gone down significantly due to owning a PS3 but I just had the urge to throw something new into my build. I ran 3dmark 06 and scored 1000+ points higher than my 8800gts. I no longer have the need to pay $300+ on a video card that will be outdated the day i install it. This thing does more than what i need especially since i hooked my rig up to my 37" lcd tv at 1280x720 settings.

Cons: Should of got the 260 or whatever it is. I could of took my old gpu out of my old computer and it probably would of performed just as good. Should of stepped it up.

Pros: Plays all games I have thrown at it great. Am getting 60 FPS on WoW with Ultra settings on in most places. Lowest I have seen on there is 47.

Not huge and doesn't suck a lot of power. Idles at 37 C for me at 50% fan speed, so I'm happy.

Highly recommend this card if you want a good card on a budget.

Cons: Not as fast as the higher end cards, but that's to be expected.

Rating + 5 Great Budget Card

Pros: It works great....Haven't tried a game yet that it doesn't play.
Games start up and shut down much quicker.
Saints Row 2 for example appears almost as quick as you can click the icon...loading is super fast...shuts down just as quick also. That I am enjoying.

Cons: Had some issues after a day or two of the PC freezing in games and movies. Resolved though...Auto Fan Speed is set to 35...I turned it up to 80 and everything has been fine.
Replaced an EVGA Nvidia 8800GTS 320MB PCI-e card and didn't notice that much of a difference in framerate. It increased....just not as much as I had though it would.

Other Thoughts: Overall this is a good card for the price. I paid almost the same for this card as I did for my 8800GTS 320MB in May of 2008.

PC Specs:

Pros: Easy installation; boots right up; quiet; renders Riddick: Athena incredibly well on 1600 X resolution.

Size. This is not a massive geforce GTX 260 superclocked card... plenty of room to spare in my case.

1 power cord requirement instead of 2 like many similar but larger GEFORCE cards.

Runs very cool.

Cons: Price I suppose. Cheaper alternatives out there (ATI, lesser NVIDIA cards)
But... EVGA is a name you can trust and so I will pay the premium for it.
