The Beast
Pros: running on a 64 bit Vista OS, using an I7 Quad Core, 6 TB of DDR 3, is there anything this beast cannot do.
SLI requires an additional card called the G Synq for genlock and framelock features.
IT IS MEANT TO BE IN SLI, but you have to have the G- SYNQ CARD!!!
its meant for CAD and DCC, not GAMING. the card supports a whole different type of 3d processing, get a geforce card if you want to play games. this card was meant for real work.
Cons: End of life GPU. Nvidia still provides service but the card has been replaced by the FX 5600 series.
G Synq is an additonal 850.00 and doesn't look like its available at new egg
Other Thoughts: The FX 5600/4600 requires the G Synq II
the FX 5500/4500 requires the G Synq, a little older and currently replaced by the above stated GPU's, but can still outperform most cards in its range.

Sheer power!
Pros: Absolute powerhouse. Renders everything I've thrown at it beautifully and far faster than any previous card I've used. As previously stated, it will struggle at 15GB+, but I rarely get projects that large anyway. Chews through videos rendered with Sony Vegas Pro 8, getting roughly 350fps with 1080p video. Not shabby at all.
Cons: Certainly not meant to be in SLI. Productivity dropped with 2 cards.
NOT FOR GAMING!!
Other Thoughts: ^ read that.

Very good for render farms, not games.
Pros: This is a very good card for modeling and rendering in 3D applications. I've had it for about a week now and I must say, the quality and speed is superb. This cut my render times down by 3/4ths as compared to my previous quadro.
Cons: It does not play games better than the GeForce 8 series. Sure, it can handle most of them at decent speeds, but it's not meant for gaming (hence the Xeon and Opteron recommendations in the description). The fan can be a little loud while rendering, and the price is pretty steep.
Other Thoughts: This is a magnificent GPU for video editing and 3D applications; it's perfect. If you want to play games, get an 8x00 instead.

Pros: Brute Power!!! Renders very well virtually any open GL applications. Great for multi monitor setups.
Cons: Starts to struggle on 15+ gb 3d cad applications...Which is nothing to be ashamed about. Not meant to be in SLI.
Other Thoughts: It does not mean they are weak, my co-worker's 8800 Ultras OCed in SLI start to struggle at around 5-7 gb open GL applications. Not for gaming.

Pros: What would compose someone to purchase two of these outside from graphics engineers
Cons: It will be outdated in two years
Other Thoughts: I want 10 of them

Pros: industries best.
Cons: I don't own my own
Other Thoughts: For the people that say this card is way to expensive this is NOT specifically made to be gaming card however can be used for gaming, this card is so expensive because the card is used for * Manufacturing & Design * Media and Entertainment (yes media and entertainment so this can be used for gaming) * Energy * Sciences * Visual Simulation So don't put this card down for it's price this is an extremely powerful graphics card.

The Quadro Fx5500
Pros: A very robust graphics processing unit. Handles everything I can throw at it. Can handle highend gaming(IE Oblivion).Works very well with single-quadcore intels. Sli's very well. Memory's fast. Itanium use very good. Runs rings around my FireGl cards, and 3dlabs cards.
Cons: Doesn't play well with older Athlons. Power hungry in sli mode(though wicked framerates). A little pricey.
Other Thoughts: Once again nVidia has proven to the world they are insane. Making a ridiculously powerful graphics development processor that blows it's competition away.

Good Card
Pros: Top of the Line Graphics Workstation Card, Speeds up render times greatly
Cons: Well not much except price
Other Thoughts: Just though I'd throw out there that pixar uses this card for their movies. They have about 20 computers that SLI 4 of these in each. Quite a Render Farm if you ask me.

Overpriced / not up to the task
Pros: Runs excellent on light duty Applications like ACAD.
Cons: Overheated and shutdown repeatedly rendering Solidworks 3D models using photoworks.
Other Thoughts: This should not happen to an expensive workstation card allegedly made for this work. I was using this in a BTX style case which inverts teh video card which may have caused issues with the heat pipes being used. Replace card with AxI FIREGL V7300 in same case, no problems and half the price.
