Works in Win7 64 RC
Pros: It seems to work well for me in Windows 7 - Windows automatically recognized it and installed it
Runs my old video games great - and Source games like Counter Strike
Cons: I did get hold of Vista 64 drivers and installed them - only to make my Windows Experience Index drop a point from 4.8 to 4.7 – but these cards are not meant for gaming graphics so I am not worried about that.
Other Thoughts: I would just install Windows 7 Pro and let it do the thinking for you!

Night and Day
Pros: For my SolidWorks 2009, I was using a gaming card (don't ask me why I had a gaming card, ask my boss). I finally convinced him that it was costing me more time to design stuff because the video card was insufficient. After this major upgrade, the performance is night and day from my old card. I'm sure there's other cards out there that would cost thousands, but for under $500, the performance boost is substantial.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: ... I wonder how it performs as a gaming card

AutoCad Civil 3D 2009
Pros: This card is not top of the line, but for Civil Engineering with AutoCad Civil 3D 2009 this is a great card. It drives twin 19" displays both with digital connections perfectly. The price Newegg has is a good price
Cons: none, really.
Other Thoughts: This was probably a little too-much card for AutoCad 2009, but I try to buy for the next 3-versions of AutoCad. I figure by AutoCad 2013 I'll need to upgrade hardware again.

AutoCAD & Inventor 2009
Pros: Vista Buis 32 & 64 functionality
Cons: Not real stabale with either of Vista 32 and worse with 64 runing AutoCad 2008 & 2009. In long sessions where you might open several drawings at a time, such as using X-referanceswithin a drawing, you often get screen freezes and almost frame by frame redraws as opposed to a smooth flow. Only way I've found to rectify this using the Autodesk recommended drivers is to switch to 2d wrieframe views and then back to Conceptual or realistic views. I'd suggest going higher end if you do a lot with 3d solids and use Vista versions.
Other Thoughts: I wanted to add to my review below because it's so often hard to find good information regarding Autodesk products and real world experiences with graphics cards.

AutoCAD Inventor 2009
Pros: It works with Autodesk applications AutoCad 2008 & 2009 and Inventor 2009. I used a FX1300 and also put a 8800 GTS 1GB in the sytem to compare. Under Vista, the reality is this card is not too much better than the 8800 under DirectX. Under XP Pro (I use these cards on 2 systems, one XP the other Vista - both systems are identical) you should use the OpenGL drivers, which appear to be a bit better than is DirectX under XP Pro.
Cons: Under either OS, with this card the "realistic" and "Conceptual" vizuals are prone to slowing considerably. This is true even when a Q6600 and 4GB mem are installed. In general 2009 is just slower.
Other Thoughts: If you have a decent video card, and you are havinf=g problems, look at the whipswitch variable and take stock that with these Autodesk applications, you will actually getter better performace with one of the better Dual Cores than you will the quad core and this card. These apps don;t make use of more than 2 cores very well. So 2 cores with more Cache are the ticket.

Needs better 64 bit drivers...
Pros: Handles AVCHD video editing pretty well, could be better but I guess I could have bought a much more pricey card too! Allows me to have two 22" monitors and have video editing software in one and the video preview in the other. Other than the problem I have with Pinnacle it is a stable card and does everything I throw at it. Plays games too, well at least Halo with everything maxed out and I still get very high fps.
Cons: I think the 64 bit drivers still need some work. When I preview only HD video in the Pinnacle preview window I get: "display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered" and sometimes a Blue Screen of Death. I have found a workaround by previewing in full screen, works fine that way.
Other Thoughts: If you are Vista 64 bit you may want to do some research but otherwise it's a great card!

Excellent card not so good PNY
Pros: The card is the perfect midrange solution for professional 3d graphics work, which is the purpose for this kind of video cards. OpenGl and refresh rate on heavy polygon based geometry is fast and reliable.
Cons: PNY leaves much to desire in their website organization and non-existent support. Sad because is the ONLY real draw-back for this card.
Other Thoughts: 2 things: 1st- most 3d software are not compatible with the latest drive, ever, so check on nvidia website for the right drive according to which software you use.
2nd- render time has more to do with your CPU and RAM than with your video-card, so if you are planning to use simple 2d-graphics (e.g. photos, SD movies, etc) this card may be overkill.

strongly suggest
Pros: bought product for use with AVID's Xpress Pro and Media Composer, Adobe Premiere and After Effects video editing software, Strongly suggest use any Generation 2 PCI-e card in a motherboard that supports the extra bandwidth, CPU does not need to be latest generation, I am presently using dual Intel's 5080 3.7 ghz Xeon and able to upgrade to 3.4 ghz wolfdale (dual) or 3.2 harperstown (quad) when prices are not in stratosphere - if for video suggest 8gb and a 64 bit o/s
Cons: none

The performance makes me smile
Pros: I built the latest spec'd system from the videoguys website. I upgraded the graphics card to this FX1700. When I used to work on video composites in Discrete combustion with my old FX500 graphics card, the particle system was slow as molasses. With the FX1700, it screams. There is no discernible delay. This card is well worth the money. The price-performance point of the FX1700 is the sweet spot. Highly recommended.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: This card is really a treat to use. I create technical documentation. Some compositing tasks that used to take hours now take only minutes. The FX1700 has given back some of my life. For me, it doesn't get better than that.

Works extremely well for my 30
Pros: Rotates and zooms my ProE assemblies very well, noticeably faster than my FX 540 did, and maybe faster than my FX 3400 at work.
Cons: None

Decent CAD Card
Pros: Not bad for a mid level 3D CAD card. CAD rendering seems fast. Considering that I'm running Solidworks 2008 (a real system hog), it performs pretty well.
Cons: Using it on a 64 bit system - included drivers not compatible for 64 bit windows xp and were initially hard to find.
Other Thoughts: This is a followup to an initial review. Nvidia now does a better job of supplying drivers for it's 64 bit customers.
Card is installed on a Phenom quadcore black edition system - overclocked to 2.5 Ghz with 4 GB RAM.

This Fan ROCKS!!! Highly Recommended
Pros: Great Fan! It definitely moves a lot of air. The adjustable speed control is great to have when working in a regular environment or when rendering with 100% full cpu loads. I'm running 3 of these fans (2 intake, 1 Exhaust) in a cooler master stacker 830 with dual quad xeons, 8 gigs of ram and nvidia quadro FX4600 video card. Great Great Cooling. A must have!
Cons: Minor Con- Fan knob was a little large and couldn't fit through the expansion slot but the knob was easily removable and fit just fine.
Other Thoughts: Its a little loud when at full speed but thats the price you have to pay if you want a cool running rig. I usually work at its lowest setting and when i'm ready to render on all 8 cores i crank it to full speed. I'd rather have a fan loud than have my rig overheat! so this isn't a con since it has a speed control that serves the purpose real well.

Hefty Worker
Pros: Great rendering capabilities, and great resolution with little to no lag on large graphics aplications. Quiet fan included.
Cons: Fan couldn't keep up in workstation enviroment.
Other Thoughts: I wound up purchasing a pump and radiatior to stick in another room and ran the hoses to a GPU cooler I bought and modified to fit this card. Great card. Associated software: Solid Works (unfortuatly), Visi 15, some hign demand games

Excellent Mid-Range Workstation Card
Pros: Low Power Draw (something like 42 Watts) Runs Cool Can Be Passively Cooled Dual DVI-I Output
Cons: For some reason, takes 512MB of my system RAM off the table
Other Thoughts: I am very happy wit this card. I recently re-built my system into a totally silent PC and I wanted a very powerful graphics card (I do alot of Photoshop work) but one that did not require additional power input or have a huge heat-dissipation requirement. I am passively cooling this card using the Zalman TNN 500AF case and my GPU core/diode temps rarely exceed 34C/48C. The card is WAY more stable than the GeForce 7900gtx I was using when my system was actively air cooled. For reasons I don't fully understand, exactly 512MB of my 4GB of system RAM is no longer available to the system since I installed this card. I'm running Vista Business x64 and used to have all 4GB available. This is mildly annoying, but I can live with it, since my graphics are incredibly fast and stable, and I still have 3.5GB of available RAM, which is more than enough. I really like this card, and probably won't have to upgrade it for several years.

Drivers
Pros: Too soon to say. Won't know until I get Solidworks loaded.
Cons: Included drivers on the CD don't work for XP64. Major pain and lots of hours on Google to find the correct drivers - not to be found on PNY's web site or on Nvidia's web site. Found them on a 3rd party web site.
Other Thoughts: Bought this for running Solidworks. VERY dissapointed in PNY and Nvidia. No included drivers for XP64???

Affordable Workstation Card
Pros: Best bang for the buck for a workstation card. You can do a comparison of the quardos on the nvidia site and see. I would also like to say that the person that rated this a One star, should not base there review on Windows Vista rating system. THEY SHOULD DO SOME BENCHMARK TESTS!!!! But I guess not everyone is smart enough to do that.
Cons: Even though it is a good deal for a workstation card you still have to cough up the money. Would be nice if it was cheaper. On another note you can't play video games on it.
Other Thoughts: You should only buy a Quadro if your serious about 3D/Motion Graphics. If you want decent performance for rendering 3d but still want to play games, you can get a good high-end Geforce. The decision is really up to you. As for me I have a xbox360 and I don't really game on the PC.

Not as good as I hoped
Pros: seems steady and stable using the latest video drivers.
Cons: purchased this card for hd vid editing. i'm not a gamer. support is non existent. Sent e-mails and left messages (PNY). Have a compatibility/memory issue with this board. video quality uninspiring for the cost. Went from 5.7 to 4.6 on vista perform test. purchased this card for video editing yet the video preview quality is about the same as the supplied card that came with new system.
Other Thoughts: dell qcore qx6700 4gb ram nvidia 680i motherboard, factory supplied 8600gts video card 256mb, raid 0 setup w/ 160 gb Hdd's very fast system with vista 64 ultimate...
