Rating + 4 Gotta love PNY

Pros: You get to have a new one every 6 month

Cons: Shipping costs to get a new one.

Other Thoughts: On my third one already. Tends to break on average every half a year. Tech support is pretty good, but can get annoying at times. (They do not seem to get it that power supplies do not come with 26A 12V rails, there is no need to have 312W on a single wire - it's more efficient to have multiple 12V rails at 18A. If PNY9600GT blank screens randomly and PNY9800GT does not, it's not my chipset drivers). If you patient enough to deal with ignorance of customer service agents, service is excellent. Bought one on Newegg mail it out from London to France and got a replacement in two weeks.

Rating + 4 It's not bad

Pros: It will play most games, like Assassins Creed, and Crysis on Medium setting at a good fps rate, and it will play games like Grid, or Demigod on high settings at a good fps rate.

Back when I got it, it cost around $200, so for around $80 its a real good deal. But now for $200 you can get a card a lot better. ^_^

Cons: This card can get a little toasty, but I never had any problems of games crashing or anything like that.

It requires pretty powerful rails.. at 12v it needs a current of 26A.. My power supply is only like 20A, and it seems to work ok.

Pros: Decent Performance at a good price

Cons: Doesn't work with latest Nvidia drivers version 185.85 or later - no video. Older driver versions work ok.

Other Thoughts: System:

Pros: It is a very powerful card for its price and can run all my games at good frame rates compared to my 8500 GT.

Cons: It can get really hot sometimes when I'm playing a really high end game like Call of Duty. My hangs around 100-105 F with decent case cooling.

Other Thoughts: All it needs it to get an aftermarket cooler and you'll be ok. Planning to runs these in SLI and to get a PCI slot cooler

Rating + 2 Overheats

Pros: Decent performance for the price when it's not overheating.

Cons: Overheats, even under medium load (WoW, etc.). Can't play TF2 for more than 10 minutes. Stock cooling is terrible. I underclocked it to about 75% of what it normally runs at and it *still* can't keep itself cool. The Icing on the cake is PNY's terrible customer support.

Other Thoughts: Stay away from the 9600GTs in general. Many people seem to have issues with these cards.

Pros: Capable of good performance on the graphics, but that's what you'd expect for two 9600 GTs.

Cons: Unacceptable stock cooling. Even with the fan speed at maximum and UNDER clocking this card will lock under stress testing on stock cooling. Have two of them and each will do it. Not reference PCB design so be careful adding a cooling block that cools the RAMs as well.

Other Thoughts: Low cost of card outweighed by necessity of upgrading the cooling. Do not recommend this product.

Pros: Cheap, definently good if your on a tight budget. Plays all the games I need it too.

Cons: Runs hot while playing games. But I'm running on 2 fans in the case, and the video card fan usually runs at 9% or so unless I need to turn it up while playing crysis or another high graphics game. So for my setup it isn't to much of a con since I should have better fans. Its kind of big. But I have a small compaq case so shouldn't be a problem for most. It has one flaw that brings me to rate this product a 4... Some reason while playing intense games it tends to shutoff. Leaving me a frozen computer picturing a black screen. I have to underclock it so it doesn't do this. But I don't lose to much performance from it. I had to replace the product because my last card the fan died. It was going about 70C idle. I play a game well over 80C then I had to shut off my computer. They replaced it without a problem though. Gave me a new model and has been working ever since

Other Thoughts: Besides all the cons it is a really nice graphics card considering its price. The second card has been working great since i got it about 5 months ago. Plus my computer is on just about 24/7

Pros: Works until your play a game for more than 15 minutes

Cons: Overheats!!! I thought it was a driver problem until I saw all the bad reviews here and felt how hot the card became. That is unacceptable. I had to upgrade to a GTX 260 and all is better now

Other Thoughts: where is the quality control PNY?

Rating + 5 Video Card

Pros: What a nice Card!!! I bought it about a year ago, I hate any fan noise so I replaced the fan for a silenced 80mm regular one at 14 dBa.
Now to that I had to cut a bigger hole or make the hole bigger with a jigsaw, it took me sometime and patience but the result is awesome... I play high end shooting games for hours on my Dell XPS 420 WHICH I have also added a rear exaust fan so the PC keep really cool.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Love silence at night...

Rating + 1 Too Hot to play

Pros: It's a video card... Well, when it runs, it runs great, looks great.

Cons: Runs too hot. Crashes on any 3D game within 15 mins. Now I have the case open with a regular fan blowing right on it to keep the thing running. The rest of the system is running cool. Don't have the $$ to replace it.

Other Thoughts: I thought PNY would be a good choice. Not sure I would buy their products again. This is about the 15th upgrade to various computers/video cards and haven't had this problem before. I think I would have had less of a problem with it being DoA since that could be from shipping etc. This is obviously a design flaw.

Rating + 3 not terrible

Pros: Price. but still the same as it was last oct when i bought it. Runs my games. BF2, BF2142, Far Cry2, BIA, Bioshock, Left4dead, Crysis and a few others on mostly high settings.

Cons: on some games i have o set back the clocks and bus to 600 and 800 respectively and up the fan speed to 60-80% to keep it from black screening or locking up. Not acceptable really, but not bad for a budget card.

Other Thoughts: If you buy this be sure to download nvidia ntune version 5.05.54.00xxx so you can adjust settings properly. Then tweak away. With a little effort it's a good card for gaming lite.

Rating + 5 It works for me

Pros: For the bucks - it does the job - drives dual displays, chips temperatures reported are about what I have experienced. Was able to reduce temperature of video chip significantly by reducing resolution from 32 bits to 16 bits (and I did not notice any difference on high resolution monitors - 1920 x 1200 - top rated) but then again my typically application is not photographic work. Also Reduced temperature by putting some time in to cable placement and a lot of tie wraps, and removing blank panels for card slots might help. As a rule of thumb, for every ten degree's centigrade the chip case temperature is reduced, the chip's life is doubled.

Cons: The air flow would possibly be improved at least for my system's configuration by having air flow off come off top of the card (opposite edge connector) instead of rear (which creates turbulence - air flow from the card is directly into intake fan's air path) for my tower case.

Other Thoughts: Perhaps use a thick copper/aluminum plate in the PC board - but you'd then be taking money away from after market heat sinks manufacturers and possibly with a little more thought the card slots between the PCI e x 16 slots would not be blocked.

Rating + 1 DON'T BUY!!

Pros: no pros at all.

Cons: The card idles at 50C (overheats) and black screens when playing games. When the card reaches 65c-70c , it black screens (computer crashes or card crashes) due to over heat.
No fan control . The fan is running at 30% while the card burns, and you can't adjust it like in all cards.Nvidia were too lazy to include a fan control in the chip.
For 20 bucks more you could get hd 4830 which is better than 9800gt.

Other Thoughts: This card sucks , end of story. Do yourself a favor and invest in a better product.

Rating + 2 Unreliable

Pros: - Price was good for the performance

Cons: - Fan deteriorated and became loud
- Length of unit makes it hard to fit in case
- Black screened in 2 games

Other Thoughts: I've had my card for about 6 months, and have had random black screen freezes. I originally thought this was a driver/game issue, but I had a second game where it happened consistently. I did a ton of research and there are some reports that the 9600GTs had a bad bad at one point. Not sure if that is my case but I've spent dozens of hours trying to get this to work, but it is still unstable.

I've put my older Nvidia card back in, and it works with no issues. I will attempt to RMA the card back to see if I can get a stable card.

Rating + 1 PNY Warrenty

Pros: Card Features and speed are very good. Bought 2 of these.

Cons: One card's Fan Went Bad after Just Over 6 month causing the card to overhead and then stop working. Other site posts reveal the same problem

Other Thoughts: Can not get in touch with Tech Support phone support to get the card replaced after leaving 3 messages for callback. I will not buy a PNY card again. Warranty Support is terrible. Other site posts report that PNY email requests for service get rejected too. The PNY site Warranty specifies for the "LifeTime". The site Warranty defines "Lifetime" as as long as the product is available in retail. They 'gotcha'

Rating + 2 Lacking in basic features

Pros: Price was right, installation easy. Love Nvidia Desktop software. Extra power cable to mobo led me to believe this would be a powerhouse. Works well with dual monitors at 1280 x 768 or lower.

Cons: While using dual monitors, I am unable to choose any res higher than 1300 x 768 dpi. This looks funky on a Widescreen 23" Samsung HDTV/Monitor.
Also, in dual view, the second monitor won't display a desktop! Just icons and/or the application. No background. Black screen. This may be a software glitch because I noticed it is no better with a different, smaller Nvidia card.

Other Thoughts: Wouldn't buy it again. You would think I could get at least available 1440 x 900 as standard in this day and age. Guess you get what you pay for. Maybe less in this case.

Pros: good price:performance ratio

Cons: extremely loud fan. impossible to manually adjust its speed.
fhs sucks in air from near the back plate and blows it out toward the front of the case, on to your HDD and against the normal air flow

STAY AWAY FROM THIS CARD.

PNY HAD A BAD MANUFACTURING BATCH WHERE CORE, SHADERS AND MEMORY ARE UNDER-CLOCKED FROM THE PUBLISHED SPECS. PNY IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM BUT DOESN'T HAVE A SOLUTION.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS CARD, BUY SOMETHING ELSE!

Rating + 2 Long card and loud fan

Pros: - Fast card, faster than my 8600GT, and much faster than the nForce 750a built-in video . 5.9 in Vista aero + 3D perf tests .

- It also runs cooler than the 8600GT, probably due to the large heatsink and fan . 50C vs 60C .

- Nicely drove my Gateway 24" FHD2401 at 1920x1200 and HP LP3065 30" at 2560x1600 in dual-link at the same time . But my 8600GT could do that too.

Cons: - Fan is very loud. It drowns the HS fan from both my Intel Q6600 and AMD Phenom 9750 systems . It is unbearable and the main reason I am returning it. For office work if you need to concentrate, it's unacceptable.

- HDCP won't work with this card with Gateway FHD2401 and HDX-501 switch + Gefen DVI Detective Plus. All works with 8600GT . Removing either switch or detective works with 9600GT .

- card is full length. On one box, I have an XFX nForce 750a motherboard and a Lian-li PC60 case. The main PCI-E x16 slot is in the middle of the mobo. With this card, the PCI-E power connector hits directly at the SATA connectors for the HD. Not recommended. It's possible to hack the motherboard to use the other PCI-E x16 slot in "fake SLI" mode that doesn't hit at the hard drive, but it's a pain.

- incompatibility on my GA-P35-DS3R motherboard and a Hauppauge HVR-1800 capture card. S3 resume did not work. Removing the HVR-1800 or putting back my 8600GT video card resolved it.

Other Thoughts: Good price, especially with the rebates, but this card makes too many compromises.

Pros: excellent graphics will run fallout 3 on high settings . if you spend your lunch money on this one get some extra cooling to go with it .

Cons: card will over heat and becomes unstable at 56c , first one burned up and second one is not much better .

Other Thoughts: I have some 10year old cards that stiill work but in the last few years the quality has slid downhill .Iam the proud owner of many high dollar cards that bit the dust due to poor quality same rule applies to mother boards

Pros: Good gaming performance,
Med-High sets on Crisis and Assassins Creed@ 1650x1050 no AA i get 50-80fps
CS:S, L4d max sets, fps_max 100 and it never drops down
COD4&5, all maxed settings i get 40-80

-i got 2 of these in SLI-performance beats a single GTX260
-runs peaty cool comparing to diff cards, 45-50*C idle & 60-65*C load
-easy overclocking, nothing to crazy

Cons: -no water blocks for extreme overclocking
-$40 bucks more and you got a 9800GTX
-i paid double the current price

Other Thoughts: I'm happy with these two, but wouldnt mind geting 9800 GTX in SLI

Rating + 5 Good, fast Ubuntu card!

Pros: This is the first graphics card I've bought, so I probably don't know what fast is, but for editing 3D graphics in Blender, or playing low-end 3D games (Supertux), it's great for me!
Installation was a snap, and finding/installing the right Linux driver was just as easy.

Cons: It's a little bit loud, but it's not unbearable. It's actually somewhat relaxing!

Pros: This card is a much better improvement from what i did have, effects run smoother with some of the steam games i play. It is a somewhat long card, but it fit into my medium sized case just fine, didnt have to move anything, besides some wires.

Cons: This card has some cooling issues, my card runs an average of 100F to about 125F.

Other Thoughts: Make sure u have sufficiant intake for the fan, i had actually left a pci slot cover off to let air in.

Pros: It has ok specs and is not too expensive.

Cons: I replaced a Nvidia 6800 with this, and it is slower than my old card for games! Also, I am having some sort of power supply problem with the card. Sometimes when I boot it does not detect the card.

It works pretty good when it boots and you are not using it for games.

Other Thoughts: My PC is an ASUS P5B-E (slightly older MB) with a quad core 2.4 Intel processor. 8 gigs of memory.

Rating + 2 Not for High End

Pros: GeForce is a good chipset.
Runs older games great

Cons: PNY only had half a thought process when designing this card. I bought 2 identical for SLI but it still crashed occasionally. After spending a lot of time troubleshooting any posible issue, found it was this card overheating - rapidly. The single deck fan+heatsink design is prone to clogging with dust thus killing air flow.

Other Thoughts: Find a different card. This chipset isn't bad for gaming, and PNY has some pretty decent cards, this just isn't one of them.

Rating + 4 PNY 9600 gt

Pros: Well this I bought from local store since it was the first time i saw a retail store selling it cheaper then newegg.....anyways for the money i spent almost 6-8 months ago (150 bucks) it was a fantastic card...dont get me wrong it still is, but for lesser price there are more faster options available today like the 4830...i love this card and would prefer to sli it in the future...but for now i can run almost everything on very high and sometimes even with AA enabled at 1440 resolution...one exception is Crysis which is playable at high on 1280 res...i can obviously run it at very high at the native 1440 but its very choppy at times....
power consumption is fair around 80-100 watts just for the card....
the card does run a little for my taste, usually around 55c at idle and getting close to 68-69 at load...i use rivtuner to keep it at 80 percent fan speed all the time so it is very cool around 39-40C but i can barely hear it over my noisy PSU, The size is good, fits in cm690 case e

Cons: lost its charm in todays competition at this price point...as i said there are much better deals available for the same or even lesser price...so if someone is buying it for 90 bucks then it better be for an sli system as a second card...otherwise i would refrain from getting it as a single card over a 4830 or 9800 gt..
it does beat the 4670 in a lot of benches but it costs a little more and requires a much bigger PSU with a six pin connection to run, unlike the 4670 which runs on the pci-express provided volts only and does not require a separate connection to the PSU...

Other Thoughts: overclocks fairly well...i get around 10k 3d mark06 with it overclocked a little bit....i might get a few points more put my cpu is pulling it vack in my view....

The accessories are scanty and the packaging is not the greatest as well..but for the price i didn't expect much

Pros: Cheap, good performance runs HL2 EP2 perfectly. Crysis on high @ 1680x1050 is fairly smooth, totally playable. Far better than my old 6800gt.

Cons: LOUD, totally drowns out my Q6600 stock HS, Antec Neoblue 650 and all the fans in my Antec 300. This card with an acceptable fan would be perfect, but as it is it's only a 4 star.

Pros: Card can handle almost anything thrown at it. Rated for pure HD, plays crisis on high... need i say any more?

Cons: If you find one, you're lame

Other Thoughts: 420 watt power supply that came with my sun beam case is running 4gb ddr2 6400, 4 120 mm fans, a dvd drive, 1TB HDD and this card, no power problems at all. Thinking strongly about purchasing another one, if i do that i will up the ante to a 600-700 watt psu looking at the moment to be honest.

Rating + 4 Very Good Performance for Price

Pros: This graphics card was easy to install, and it runs everything very well. Unless you require the heaviest video demands, this was an excellent choice at this price point.

Cons: Noise -- the fan is quite loud. Sometimes it goes away after a time, but mostly it is an annoying and constant hum.
I am experimenting with ways to minimize the noise without damaging anything.

Other Thoughts: I originally bought from Dell computer with the thought that the original manufacturer of my system would have a thorough knowledge of my system and make fair recommendations that would validate the higher price.
** WRONG! **

Newegg not only had a better price but shipped sooner and cheaper. I returned the products to Dell (they sent me the wrong item) and only by lodging a complaint with the BBB did Dell not charge me a "restocking fee" -- for them sending me the wrong part!!

Newegg is my only online store for electronics and computer equipment now. Period.

Rating + 1 Unacceptable

Pros: Runs pretty much anything maxed out without a hitch.

Cons: The card (or at least mine) is a power hog. It kept dying in high-end games (the games ran extremely smooth up until the point it died) so I purchased a 550w 12v+ 41A PSU from Corsair and nothing really changed. Unplugging most of my hardware (which really shouldn't be consuming much power based on the specs) allowed the card to last about 15 minutes longer. The card runs at about 60 degrees when it finally dies.

Other Thoughts: This is just unacceptable for any hardware. My other system specs are:
-Core 2 duo e4400
-2GB PC5300
-Corsair 550w with 41A on the 12v+ rail.
-2x 5400RPM 250GB HDDs
-1x 7200RPM 80GB SATA HDD
-1x DVD/RW

Don't forget that if you buy this "excellent" deal, you're going to need a $150-$200 power supply to even utilize it. Even with all of the devices except for 1 HDD unplugged, it still overdrew... Maybe it's driver related, but I have the latest drivers, BIOS, everything. I guess this card is an excellent buy if you're looking for a really fancy paperweight.

Rating + 4 Great Card

Pros: Excellent price and great performance for the money. Encodes video with Badaboom/CUDA much faster than my previous card (8600GT).

Cons: Card is rather loud. I built a new machine that was nearly silent with integrated graphics and before the PNY video card and now it sounds like an older computer that didn't take noise into account. I was hoping to try using a third-party Zalman GPU cooler that I had, but I couldn't get the stock heatsink-fan off without feeling like I was going to break something.

Other Thoughts: Card is nearly full-length and needs a roomy case lengthwise, even though it's a single slot card. Also, specs I found online say the 9600GT needs about 100W of power to itself, so budget your power supply wattage accordingly.

Cons: Makes too much noise. I thought my comp was noisy before, boy I was wrong. This noise will give you headache if you sit in front of the computer for hours.

Pros: Gets great performance in everything I throw at it. Team Fortress 2 , Warcraft III, Splinter Cell. All maxed. Crysis demo runs of medium-highish settings. Crysis Demo runs well except when I do insanely stupids things in the the game, a.k.a. throw a barrel through three buildings. This is a great card.

Cons: It's not free. And it won't make me pizza.

Other Thoughts: If you want a good $100 graphics card and you do not own this, I am sad. :(

Rating + 3 When it works it is great

Pros: Like the title states... when it works it is great. Im not really a pc gamer in my opinion because i really on play a select few rts games and this card crushes them all on max settings. I even play COH: Opposing Fronts with all the settings maxed out and that anti alias on 16x and there is still no hiccups.

Cons: Unfortunately this card has a very nasty flaw of completely shutting down during random times while gaming and i have to completely do a hard restart to get it to come back on again. The only way to correct this problem is to use aftermarket software and actually underclock the core clock to around 550 and the memory clock under factory settings. I really do not loose performance on the type of games but i really want the product to run how it was intended. Strike 1 PNY!!!

Other Thoughts: Probably going to leave ATI to handle the graphics department on my next build, which is coming in a couple of weeks.

Rating + 5 Nice card

Pros: Quite cheap, lots of bang for your buck, easy to install etc. , no big power needs, supposedly a great overclocker( see below)

Cons: the actual card looked a bit different then the picture, plastic heat sink cover flimsy, as for the overclocking, most sites etc. say you can this card to at least 750mhz core clock, but after I go over about 715mhz in riva tuner it starts having crashes related to the driver. If you know why send me a youtube message- "zanebrant"

Other Thoughts: Even though i couldn't OC it beyond 715mhz, i was still able to get about 10-15fps more, which is terrific for those speeds. Now i can run Crysis on very high 1024X768, No AA, with max graphical settings and get aprox. 30fps <:

Pros: I used this card in a budget gaming system I built for a teenage friend of the family. He can now play all of the new games out on high settings on his 17 inch monitor at 1280 x 1024 resolution. Obviously this card blows away the ATI 1300 PCI card he was using.

Cons: none really.

Other Thoughts: Not everyone can afford a high-end gaming system and this card is great product for those gamers on a budget. If you consider the performance vs price then this card is a great deal.

I've owned several PNY GPU's and never had any problems with their cards.

Rating + 5 Awesome Budget Card! -6 month followup-

Pros: Excellent performance and IQ. This was a HUGE jump up from my 7600GT. This is basically an 8800/9800GT "Lite". The performance is better than an 8800GTS 640MB and I can max all my games at 1680 x 1050 w/ AA and AF. I thought it wasn't going to be powerful enough in a few months, but it's still surprisingly capable at the very newest games. I can run CoD5, Far Cry 2 and Fallout 3 at 1680 res with AA and AF.

Cons: LOL I bought it at $147.95 when it was new. Now it's a hundred bucks!! My only regret is that I could have gotten an HD4850 or a 9800GTX for the same price now.

Other Thoughts: The 9800GT and 9800GTX are only marginally faster compared to the differences in model numbers. The 9800GT is like 20-25% faster and the 9800GTX is like 35-40% faster(though depending on the game being played, the difference can be much less, like 5-10%). Compare to the 7600GT and 7800GTX 512MB where the 7800GTX was almost twice as fast. This is an extremely good buy for the price, though for $50 more you can get a much faster card now.

Rating + 5 Very powerful card

Pros: This card is very powerfull for the price, you would be hard pressed to find anything in the same price range and be close to this. I have played Crysis, Devil May Cry 4, Red Alert 3, and FEAR so far, all with settings maxed out (no AA though) and it has not missed a beat. This card is worth every penny, just wish I had a bank account or I could have bought it from new egg.

Cons: Only con I think of is that it runs pretty hot, now this isn't because of a poor stock cooler (at least on the one I bought). Its because the fan on the cooler only runs at a small fraction of its full RPM. I figured this out by starting nTune and forcing the fan to 100 percent and my temps dropped from 51 at idle and 71 under load to 46 idle and 63 under load. The main reason why this is a con is because it probably needs a bios reflash to fix this and I am not knowledgable enough to do so yet.

Other Thoughts: Also, to provide somewhat of a point of comparison on this card as far as power requirements goes, my system is as follows:
Jetway JM26GT3-SVP Micro-ATX Mobo
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4600+ Overclocked to 2.6
Abit DDR2 800 RAM
Raidmax 450 Watt PSU with a single 21A 12v rail
This video card
Montego DDL sound card
Seagate 160 Gigabyte SATA HDD
Memorex CD/R/RW burner
Lite on CD/DvD/R/RW dual layer burner

My system has never shut off due to power issues once, the box that the card came in said it needed 450W minimum, with a 12v rail of atleast 26 amps. This requirement though must be taken with a grain of salt, because if you read the fine print, then it says this card was tested with one of intel's top of the line quad cores, which are very power hungry proc's.

Pros: Great frame rates per second on Crysis with all settings at high, same with all the games out there until GTAIV came out.

Cons: Can't keep up with GTAIV as a single card. I have to turn all the setting to medium and low to keep a palatable fps rate. No other cons, this is a great card, i was very surprised.

Pros: Much faster then the ATi 3650 1gig I upgraded from! Even runs crysis on MAX with 2xAA at 15-34fps!!! (1280x1024 resolution)

Cons: Gives me rather annoying and frequent lag spikes. I could be playing any game, even half-life 1 and I would be getting 200fps and then drop down to 5 for about 20 seconds then continue at 200fps again, then after about... 10-15 minutes it does it AGAIN! I'm taking 2 stars off for this annoying hassle.

Other Thoughts: PC specs
Intel Pentium D 2.8ghz
4gigs DDR2 667
This card
Windows XP
I don't find this card worth is, the lag issue might be with the 9600 chip set but this card really will irritate gamers that need to be in a game and need to be getting consistent frames.
Me for example, I'm playing call of duty 4, getting 40-95fps and I'm in a scrimmage. I see someone and am about to shoot him then the lag spike hits and I can't aim for anything due to the lag. OR I am being shot at and am trying to run away when the lag hits and I slow down so much that I get killed. WHY DOES THIS CARD DO THIS?!

Pros: Good card, able to play WoW with 1440x900 resolution and max settings with about 30 fps with northrend. CoD4 max about 45 fps, able to handle everything I've played so far.

Cons: The current drivers for the 9600 are out of sync with some systems, some games I am not able to run at all.

Other Thoughts: Good card, you will be able to play what you can. If you want anything more powerful, the 9800 GT or 9800 GTX is surely the best bet.

Pros: This is a very capable graphics card that will provide a noticable boost in gaming and video performance. In my computer, is runs Crysis on high at about 30fps, which I was very excited to see.

Cons: It does get fairly hot when running Crysis, but for COD5, Grid, Fallout 3, its not too much of an issue. However, I would keep a room fan nearby as this card can top out at over 140 F deg. The fan is loud but by no means a dealbreaker.

Other Thoughts: I bought this in order to play Crysis and it definitely delivers. I recommend two of these for an affordable SLI configuration!

Rating + 4 Fast graphics card

Pros: Decent price on a fast graphics card. I got this card three months ago, and it has been working great since. Ran a benchmark on it, and this card runs like 4X times faster than my Geforce 7600 GS PCi Express I had before this one, so there, now you have a comparison point.

Cons: VERY noisy card, it's my only complain. Fan is running 100% all the time without any control. Little fan that sounds so loud that makes up to I would say 75%-80% of the entire noise of my PC. When I put my finger on it's fan for a second, my mind feels like in Heavens, as soon as it starts spinning again then I wish it did not have any fan, but then again, the card would be fried. - Other than a very noisy fan, this card performs great and it's very fast, enough for any game I ran so far. - Another con, which is not a big deal in my case, this card is very long so if you have a small computer case or are limited in space better consider how much space you have before you buy it.

Other Thoughts: My former graphics card was passive, no fan at all, that's why I'm used to a quiet computer, since I got this card my entire PC sounds like a jet, which makes me sick, when I shut the PC off I feel a mental release on my head..haha!

Pros: It can handle World of Warcraft with everything maxed out. It averages around 20-50fps (25 in crowded areas with lots of stuff going on). Defiantly worth getting if you dont want to spend the big bucks on a high end card.

Cons: RUNS HOT! (like every other card)

Rating + 4 good card

Pros: OK, this card can run anything i throw at it from medium to full settings. supposed to be great in sli.

With Nvidia's architecture, you can throw any piece of code at it and it will run on as many of the stream processors as it needs - they all have the same functionality (bar the special function unit - there's one of those per eight stream processors but it's not part of the count) and are pretty generalised. It's a brute force method, although Nvidia would crucify me for saying that - you just throw code at it and it works everything out itself.

Cons: The RAM on the card runs reeeaaally hot. The stock cooler is poorly designed. PNY needs to take physics again and relearn the laws of thermodynamics. . It keeps the gpu temp below 80C under load but the ram will overheat and cause some serious artifacting. The cooler dumps its heat int the front bottom of my case, had to put a fan there. Only 64 stream proccesors. See other thoughts and pros nvidia vs ati artitecture... its not amd

Other Thoughts: AMD's architecture has blocks of five (well, technically six) stream processors that have differing functionality. Four of them can handle FP MAD, FP MUL, FP/INT ADD and dot product calculations), while the fifth unit can't handle dot products, INT ADD or double precision calculations, but can handle INT MUL, INT DIV, bit shifting and transcendental calculations (SIN, COS, LOG, etc). It's a bit more complex, but if the code is optimised well, it can deliver much higher performance - that's why the FLOPS throughputs on the AMD chips are quite a bit higher, too, because they only take FP MAD and FP MUL into account and all of the units in the AMD chips can do those calculations (they're the most widely used).

So AMD has the more elegant solution but, it doesnt always mean they will have the better card. It depends wether the game makers optimize it for such a method.

Assassins Creed 'cough' 'cough'.

Pros: A very well balanced card for the money. I looked at a LOT of cards before deciding on this one as I had a budget of $125 with shipping to stick to.

Cons: I wish the price would have just been 1 penny more. The fact that I would have had to buy 1 penny more of product (can't be done even on Newegg) to get the FREE SHIPPING really annoyed me. Otherwise I would have gave it 5 eggs.

Other Thoughts: Make sure you have room..... from the back of the atx tower computer where I have this card plugged in, the card measures a whopping 9" in length. So, before you buy it, I recommend that you make sure you have 9" + of clearance from where it will be plugged in, to where your drive bays are.

Pros: I bought this for my new computer, so it was a huge improvement over my old 7300gt. I can max out any game and it's very playable even Crysis on dx10 works well.

Cons: A month or two after I bought it the price on the 9800gt's went down, but this is still the perfect budget card.

Cons: well, its a single slot cooler. so if ur playing a high end game and u crank up the fan, ur case is gona heat up if u dont have good airflow. Got SLI water cooling so that is a thing of the past.

Other Thoughts: I bought this because I was replacing my motherboard and didn't have a PCI-E Gfx Card and wanted something to handle some gaming. I upgraded from a 7600GS and WOW. I tend to stick with the x6 series since I primarily game on the PS3. Makes for a great capable second system.

Pros: price, newegg shipping was free.

Cons: Would be okay if it wasn't giving me constant problems. I have tried 6 drivers starting with the newest and rolling back in succession until I am 6 releases back. Still getting lockups and pixelated screens in games. May have to return.

Rating + 5 GIVE YOURSELF PLENTY OF ROOM!!!

Pros: So far everything is great!!! I'm playing Crysis at High level ... Crysis won't even let me touch Very High, 4X AA and this is with AMD Athlon Dual Core 5200 + 4 gb (DDR2-800), 19" widescreen - 1440/900 settings. Game doesn't hiccup at all. Half Life 2, I got everything as high as it will go and the game is the best I've ever seen it. Watching movies looks real good. I'm happier than a pig in slop :D

Install was also very easy... :P

Cons: Had to move my hard drive down a couple of slots otherwise the card wouldn't fit. Don't know exactly how long it is but if I was unable to move my hard drive I would have been real sad.

Rating + 5 Awesome Card!

Pros: Free Shipping + Great price. No problems whats so ever with this card.

Cons: Doesn't fetch me beer.

Other Thoughts: My 1st PNY product, wich I am very satisfied with. I "used" to buy BFG cards but me and my brother have had bad luck with them. I play WoW,BF2142,Sup Commander with just about everything turned up and im still running about 70 FPS. 1600x1200 res. I will definetly consider PNY on my next card purchase. Thanks to Newegg for outstanding service and free shipping. Me love you long time!

Rating + 4 Almost as good as the 8800gt

Pros: Very good value, slightly under the "normal" gamer system these days, but is so close in performance that most people won't notice. Runs cooler than most cards out there, and I'm running most games at high settings smoothly (Oblivion, UT3, Bioshock). The game it has a hard time with, surprise surprise, is Crysis...but it still runs it at medium settings at 1024x768 resolution well.

Cons: Can't run Crysis at higher settings and resolutions, but I don't care much for that game anyway. A low-end PNY 8800GT is only about $30 more, so it might be worth the extra cost.

Other Thoughts: I overclocked this stable at 720/1800/980, and my 3dmark06 scores went up a few hundred, almost reaching 8800gt levels (SM2.0 and 3.0 ~ 4800). It's now only 2-5 fps slower on most applications.

Is about evenly matched with my AMD x2 6000+ @ 3.3GHz...maybe just a slight bottleneck.

Rating + 5 Great card, eggcellent price

Pros: Great performance and price. Installed and drivers work great, out of the box. Playing Crysis on medium settings at 1920x1200 resolution, but will likely have to adjust some settings down for better frame rates, but what do you expect for a card at this price.

Cons: Really none, but the fan runs somewhat loud until the drivers kick in during boot up, then runs very quietly.

Other Thoughts: Installed this in a system with an Athlon X2 5800+ 3.0 GHZ, 4 GB Mushkin DDR2 800, and this card. Again, runs Crysis at all medium, 1920x1200 on my Dell monitor, but does lag at times, so I will be adjusting some settings to low for better frame rates. If you see that as a con, buy another card, but the performance is amazing at this price. I upgraded from Athlon X@ 4800+ @ 2.5 GHZ and Geforce 7900 GS OC and 3DMark 06 scores went from 4900 to 9400. Not too shabby for an investment for under 200 eggs.

Rating + 5 Great Card!!

Pros: I just installed this card into my Compaq Presario desktop and could not be happier. I am writing this review because I want to express the concern I had for this card fitting in my case. Anyone who is worried about standard cases should not lose any sleep. This thing fits fine and runs everything at max settings without a hiccup.

Cons: None as of yet...

Other Thoughts: I upgraded to a 650 Watt PSU which I feel will be a necessary upgrade especially if you are upgrading a stock system like I was.

Rating + 5 Awesome!

Pros: Amazing deal for $84. Very quiet and energy efficient. Fast card; it has sent my Vista WEI to 5.9 in graphics. Stable; I have tested it with several 2d/3d graphics programs with "application settings" over-ridden and all relevant features on high. No lag, crashing or blue screening due to it.

Cons: Fan is loud on startup, but very quiet after reaching the desktop. After wards, the fan can be adjusted to your preference using ntune.
Can get pretty warm, so an extra cooling solution might be a good idea (especially if you have a small, cramped case).

Other Thoughts: Great card; especially at this price (84.99 when I bought it) with free shipping! Can't handle Crysis on very high; Crysis suggests all "high", but it works better with water effects low and everything else on high. Works best on most medium and some on high. Works fine with a 300w PSU. Would still suggest a 430watt PSU, though. There will be no regrets, as long as you keep in mind that this is not a high-end card.

Rating + 4 Cheap graphics goodness

Pros: Inexpensive, running dead space, Oblivion and DMC 4 at max visuals at 1680 by 1050 res with E8500 proc. 40 to 50fps. You can jack up the clocks by 100 MHz with nvidia's gpu tweaking download, just adjust the fan manually. . . Hitting just over 11,600 on 3d mark 06 with oc'ed proc and gpu with 1:1 timings on ram/fsb

Cons: I can't max out Far cry 2, crysis runs at medium and makes this thing fold. Big card, but I got plenty of room

Other Thoughts: NZXT Tempest, Corsair 450w psu, Asus P5q pro mobo, Thermaltake V1 cpu cooler, Intel E8500 at 3.8 Ghz, 2 Gb G. Skill 1066 ram Samsung 500 Gb hdd, PNY 9600 GT

Rating + 4 Pleased. High Performance card

Pros: High performance, card(s) (i purchased two) run very cool and quiet. Running 3dMark 2006 and 1 7600, I was scoring about 3200. Now running two in SLI, I was getting over 10,000. Great improvement for only about $190.

Cons: I ordered two of the same cards and Newegg shipped me two which came in two identical boxes but the cards are different looking. One has a cover over the entire heatsink/fan like in the picture and the other one is blue and doesn't. Not a huge deal but... if you're in to looks, it could be.

The cards are huge. Make sure you have room.

After doing some research, this chipset is prone to BlaSOD and mine started doing the no-video signal thing. I had to flash my Asus PN5 mobo bios. Asus clearly acknowledges an issue on some of their boards with this Nvidia chipset. research that. Some people claim they've underclocked it about 40Mhz and it's never BSODd since.

I haven't purchased too many but this is the first SLI capable card I've ever purchased that didn't come with a bridge.

Other Thoughts: You'll want 650watt /2 12v rails for SLI on this card. I tried 550 and couldn't run these together until I did 650w/x2 12v

Rating + 5 fantastic price to performance ratio

Pros: cheap, i got it for $85 with free shipping. quiet during normal use, stays cool even during games like crysis. On that note, it manages to run everything on high at 1680x1050 and only slows down during the most hectic of battles.

Cons: It DOES get pretty loud at start up and under load. It's also, as other reviewers have said, pretty long (about 9 inches)

Other Thoughts: In all honesty though, I don't notice the fan when I'm playing games, and I just had to move some psu wiring around to fit it in my case. For this price, and the amazing performance, don't let noise and length be a deterrent.

Rating + 5 Fast, Quiet

Pros: Clean Graphics and speed. This thing isnice, for $84.00 I couldn't go wrong, if you want to SLi and you can do it since you have 2 PCI express slots then this is the way to go for the $, but if you don't have the slots and want the power of two cards then look up 9800 GX2, it's NICE.

Cons: I can't say anything since the price was so nice with free shipping.

Other Thoughts: I don't know if I should have gotten the 9800 GTX ($+150) or 9800 GX2 (+$220 (refurb) - $280(New) but both where alot more then this baby so I am happy.

Rating + 4 Nice Graphics Card!

Pros: Came with a detailed instruction manual, Cheap, Free shipping(also fast, ordered on sunday came on Wednesday), Works on my 300watt psu! Plays CS:S Maxed out at 138+ FPS! Easy installation.

Cons: HUGE! This beast is more than a half foot wide (8 inches estimate) and like 4-5 inches tall.

Other Thoughts: Had to rearrange my power cords, I only had this for 1 day and so far it is doing better than i thought it would. I would recommend getting a better power supply (at least 400W+) because my computer is acting a little bit weird, but when it comes to gaming i don't even notice. I will be ordering a better power supply so this beast can do better.

Rating + 3 PNY 9600GT

Pros: Great price for a somewhat modern card; size is nice and slim and no problems fitting micro board. Has Nvidia physx enhancement that I did not notice on other cards? Adapters are nice. Packaging is nice and small- no wasted materials.

Cons: Really not much faster than my overclocked 8500gt. I ran 3dmark06 and only scored a 4995 with this card. The heatsink thermal paste already needed replacing.

Other Thoughts: Nvidia said this card has 15x the performance over integrated graphics while the 8500gt has only 5x the performance? I was expecting over 9000 points for 3dmark06 then, instead only received about a 1 1/2 time better performance, but for the same price though.

Pros: Needed to replace a 8600 GTS that died out on me. This one fit the bill and works well with Vista. No problems yet in Adobe CS3.

Cons: I was hoping there would be a bit more horses under the hood here. It's also pretty loud.

Rating + 5 Snow-Man

Pros: Great stomps my 3870 not by much but like a stable 15-20fps cranked 1680x1050 all high settings aa/af max in Source games bolth using this q6600 @ 3.1ghz and my e6320 1.86ghz dual @ 2.1 so bolth cards tested on differnt systems and different price bed processor and mobo wise. Asus maximus formula ($$$) and a msi neo 5(cheapy)

Cons: None the first was d.o.a. which killed the 89$ + free shipping price tag before the price hike to current + shipping ended up being 11$ to ship back for the rma =\. Never the less pleased now that my dual core machines not on a old ati x1300.

Other Thoughts: If you play on crossfiring or sli'ing anything ever do some reviews dual cores are decent but you really need a dual @ 3.0ghz or above to handle the data coming from current days sli/xfire setups and recommend being @ 4.0ghz witha quad for full potential so stay single card otherwise.

Rating + 5 Just What I Needed

Pros: Easy install and setup. Great price. Major improvement over my Radeon X1650. I realize it is not the super high end card but I play Fighter Ace online mostly and this card has no FPS issues at all. Quality settings are maxed out on the game and I play it at 1280 x 1064 windowed. Not even a hiccup.

Cons: N/A

Other Thoughts: I ordered the card on a Tuesday and newegg had it to me on Thursday. Thanks newegg.
If you are looking for a good card that will not break the bank then this is the one you want.

Rating + 4 Solid and Reliable

Pros: I have yet to have any real problem with this card. As long as you crank up the fan with something like Riva_tuner (which you better do with any card these days), this guy runs cool. In fact, it runs about 10 C cooler than my friend's 8800GT while cranking out comparable performance. And it's significantly cheaper. As far as I'm concerned, this is one of the best mid-range chips on the market in price/performance.

Cons: PNY makes registering for the extended warranty impossible. I hate to take off an egg for this but it's a real drag.

Rating + 4 use it in SLI

Pros: I built a SLI system using this video card and an ECS with the silent cooler. A great advantage of the new SLI systems is that you don't have to have identical cards, you just need to have 2 of the same series with the same core speeds. Having 2 9600 GT's in SLI is faster and gives more frame rates than a high priced top of the end cards.

Cons: This card gets hot under a load, so I would download the NVIDIA control panel and set the fan speeds by yourself and it will keep these cards cooler.

Other Thoughts: Cards are used in a system with an Asrock 750i motherboard with an AMD 5400 X2 and 2 gigs of OCZ memory. The 9600 GT'S are the way to go especially in SLI they really perform very well for a low end card.

Rating + 5 Good deal

Pros: For under $100.00 this card is a great value. Substantial increase in performance from my ATI X1900 256 card. I used to run WAR on 1280x1024 on highest frame rate setting. Even then Altdorf was a slideshow. Now I run same resolution but Highest Quality and 8x filtering and its smooth even in Altdorf.

Cons: So far i have nothing negative to say.

Other Thoughts: I used this card and 2 gigs of ram to prolong the life of my old FX-60 processor which Vista now rates as the weak link in my system. For some reason NewEgg shipped my memory the same day from the same location but with DHL instead of UPS. I am still waiting for the memory. Why did you do that New Egg???
