Rating + 5 Good

Pros: Runs everything at high settings. Temperature is manageable, around 40-50 idle and load. Rebate was received in a timely fashion (unlike some other rebates from other companies). All in all a really good buy.

Cons: None for me. Card might be fairly large for some cases.

Other Thoughts: The card works for now, but I probably should've just gotten a directx11 card from radeon. Would've saved money in the long run.

Rating + 5 note: did not buy from newegg. still great.

Pros: this card will basically hold you up for about a few years,
great performance on current and older games.and is very powerful. and will make your computer will be running like no other with this card.
computers with side windows w/ lights will look very nice

Cons: is kinda big for a small form factor tower, but if you can fit it. then is no problem

Other Thoughts: most ppl have wrote that the card will not work, well
i think thats a bunch of malarky, make sure you have a 450w or higher power supply. and that it has a 6pin connector.

Rating + 3 Go w/ the XFX 9800GT

Pros: Runs most games at high without any hiccups

Cons: I went through two of these in less than a month. My first just plain didn't work and the 2nd I got gave everything a blueish tint after two weeks of use.

More importantly, when I called PNY customer support, I couldn't speak to a live rep--I had to leave a message for them to call me back. That never happened...

Other Thoughts: Go with the XFX 9800GT. Such a better card and doesn't requrie you to hook your power supply with the it, unlike PNY. Plus, if you buy now it comes with COD 4, 5...BUY NOW!

Pros: Works great! Specs said it would require 2 6-pins but there was only one required when I got it.

Cons: Just like the majority of the users say, this card is pretty large. It took me about 5 minutes to work it onto my mobo. I used a Rosewill Wind Ryder RZLS142A-P YE tower, a GIGABYTE GA-MA770-UD3 mobo, an sata drive and an ata drive. I enjoy puzzles, so it wasn't too hard.

Other Thoughts: I probably shouldn't have ordered it on cyber monday, seeing that it took much longer to receive than expected (took roughly 4 days for one package verse 2 days for 4 packags I've ordered in the past).

Rating + 4 SLi

Pros: -Best Price/performance at this price point.
-Average temperatures: it stays in the 50's, never going to high
-Works wonderfully in SLi configuration
-Full settings in every game @ 1440x900
-Using CUDA to render frames in Sony Vegas makes rendering times a fraction of what they were

Cons: -For less than 50$ more you can have another card that blows this one out of the water.
-512meg memory is poor for higher than 1680x1050, if you have a 1920x1080 or higher res you need a card with 1gb or more vRam

Other Thoughts: I owned another 9800gtx+, by EVGA, for about a year now, and decided to buy this to put into a SLi configuration, as opposed to buying a single better card.
If you aren't putting this into an SLi, it would be advised (if you had the money) to go with a better single card.

Rating + 5 Great!

Pros: Handles anything i've thrown at it so far. All games and program no problem, overclocks great. keeps itself very cool most of the time. tops the 9800gx2 in several features. Good for the money.

Cons: It is pretty large so you might have to re-arrange wires, incase you have a small case.

Other Thoughts: Recommend upgrading from anything lower then an 8800 for sure. only has 1x6pin despite it saying it requires a 2x6.

Pros: Great Vid card. Sure did boost my fx. I am not a super tech but everything said on pros about this card has come to pass.

Cons: No cons so far

Other Thoughts: Newegg.. offered it at the best price out there and I do serious shopping around before I buy. Their service it 100% great, fast order filling and delivery. Even though it is shipped from the US to Canada.. Newegg along with UPS has come through in an extremely timely fashion everytime.

Rating + 5 Great card

Pros: Great card, stays cool, runs as quiet as can be expected, and vents heat through a slot out the back of your case. Runs World of Warcraft in full "Ultra" quality at 1280x1024 perfectly at a very acceptable framerate, even in crowded places like Dalaran or in raids.

Cons: Should have bought mine on Newegg since the one pictured here has a TV-Out. My old card died and I had to run to Best Buy to get a new card quickly. They sell the exact same card, same box, same stuff, same design, same everything, but the back only has 2 DVI ports, no SVideo/Proprietary TV-Out port. Sad for me since I use TV out, but I will cope. Maybe that is why the price at the store was lower than on here by $20. :/

Other Thoughts: Not much to say at this point. I've had the card for 8 hours. Seems like a truly awesome card for the price.

Pros: Absolutely love the card, it dominates anything I throw at it. Ran fine straight out of the box, and made all my games more enjoyable. Can't beat the price.

Other Thoughts: It is a large card, nearly didn't fit, but once I got it hooked up, it all worked.

Rating + 5 You Won't Be Disappointed

Pros: Effective heatsink

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Had a competitor's 9800GT go bad on me, so I picked this card up as a replacement. I suspect those surprised by the size of the card hadn't bought one recently - it was actually about half an inch shorter than my previous card. While it's true it takes up two bays, the extra ventilation is well worth it. It runs a good 15 degrees C cooler under load that the previous card, and that in turn has brought down my overall case temp, as well.

Rating + 1 Incompatible?

Pros: Smaller than some 9800GTX+ cards, requires only 1 external power connector.

Cons: This card would not work in my Asus P5N-D motherboard. BIOS is current, tried numerous driver revisions for both the card and motherboard drivers - got nothing but a black screen in Windows. Wouldn't work under Gentoo or Ubuntu either with the Nvidia drivers not finding the card. Strange that a 9800GTX+ by a different company would work with no problems and this PNY card would work in a friends machine. PNY, to their credit, did their best to get it working. Ended trading this card and some other things for an ATi 4870 card.

Other Thoughts: Running Vista 64bit on a clean install, Gentoo 64bit with 2.6.31 kernel and Ubuntu 9.04 & 9.10. This card seems to be working as expected in the new owners machine.

Pros: This card Isnt Bad at All but in the pic it looks like you need 2 6 pin but when i recieved it, only had one Overall its great max settings in wow Left 4 Dead Css And Will Run more Benchmarks and probably overclock it

Cons: None at all

Other Thoughts: I was Pretty scared when i got this card it was pretty big but it just fits my case it runs ok 56c idle max at 67c with my insufficient air cooling

Rating + 5 perfection...

Pros: the card is great, has a high amout of shader clocks.
pretty high core clock speed too.
i did not purchase this card online, but i guess its the same. from what i hear from somereviews is that the card will not produce any video, make sure you have a 450 or higher card that is sli ready or that has a 6 pin power adapter.that will solve your problem there.
it is a perfect graphics card and will run most games on high graphix

Cons: kinda bulky, make sure the case you buy is big enough or there will be problems.

Other Thoughts: this happened to me once, i had an Sata cord break the connections on the mobo, use the flat ones. those work just fine and you wont have to risk going through another board

Rating + 5 Airflow is Non-issue

Pros: Price.
I was surprised to find myself running Mirror's Edge 1600x1200 @ 25-30 FPS and 1280x1024 @ 50-60 FPS.

Cons: The power plug is on the "North-east" side of the card (looking head on pins down) facing "upward" towards my case walls. This means i have to bend the 6-pin cable almost 90 degrees when i shut my case. I would have preferred the plug to be facing "east" , away from the case walls.

Other Thoughts: Does not blow ALL air into case like everyone has been complaining about. The airflow is bi-directional, which means, air is flowing both to the outside as well as toward/inside case. So its only half as 'bad' as the reviews make it sound. My avg CPU temp increased only 3 degrees Celsius and case temp increased about the same. The increase is marginal - although i my CPU is an M series (mobile) and runs cool anyways. On budget-systems the case-blowing heat can be mitigated easily by cable arrangement (like the one that powers your board) to deflect some of the air towards case fans.

I have not tried SLI.

My specs:
Board : Aopen ePC i945GM
RAM : 2x2GB PC5400
CPU : Intel Core 2 Duo T-6600 (Merom) (OC clock 1.8Ghz, OC Bus, 768mhz)
OS : Windows 7 (64-bit)
Power : X-Power 585W (temporary supply, came with the case)

Rating + 5 Less than $100 after rebate? WINNER

Pros: While the card is relatively aged, it's got lower power consumption then similar cards, good results and stays relatively cool. Plus SLI. My card never pushes past 60C with a stock cooler.

Cons: Long. On micro cases (which I don't have) this could prove to be a problem.

Other Thoughts: After rebate, it's a total winner. While it's not as powerful as some other cards out there, the value is exceptional

Rating + 5 Amazing!

Pros: What's to say, this thing is incredible. Installation was easy as pie. I downloaded the latest drivers off of the website prior to installation, then installed without a hitch. This was a crazy step up from my GeForce 7600 GS and I have sure noticed it. Went from 10-15 FPS in WoW to 50-75 except in Dalaran and busy cities; however, see cons for details.

Cons: Only con is I found the limit of my CPU. GPU is great, but my CPU is bottlenecking it. Guess I'm going to have to take the plunge and buy a new quad core CPU, MB and some DDR3 RAM...

Other Thoughts: When I ordered this card they were shipping out the Nvidia 3D Vision Discover glasses with the card. They are really fun to screw around with.

Rating + 5 Awesome!!

Pros: This card is a beast!! Upon first receiving the card i was a little confused because it only came with one 6-pin power connector while clearly in the pictures there are two. As seen in some of the other reviews, this was clarified to be because the switch to 55nm silicon was made, which requires less power.

The overclocking capability of this card is pretty tremendous. I was able to get a stable 804 mhz core clock and a 1320 memory clock on air using riv*tuner to modify the speeds and f*rmark to stress test it. That is up from a stock 740 mhz core and 1100 mhz memory clock. good stuff.

Overall the Installation was a breeze just plugged and played. The CD that comes from PNY is pretty straightforward and to the point, no frills. The card looks pretty sleek as well.

Cons: Installing the newest Nvidia drivers from their website caused my motherboard to completely lose it and it lost all connectivity between my sound card, my wireless lan card and the graphics card. I think that this has more to do with the fact that im running a stock mobo that came with my Dell XPS 400 along with windows xp (windows 7 professional will be on its way come release, thanks $40 college student offer!, so we'll see how it works out when i try it then).

Other than that i really can't complain about this card, other than maybe noting that Nvidia should come out with a folding@home client that can run off of the older, non gtx series architecture. I feel as though im commiting a crime letting all of its idle clocks go to waste while my CPU is chuggin away as i speak.

Other Thoughts: The card is a tad loud running at 100% fan speed but then again at that speed its more about function. When i have the card overclocked to the above settings the temp that i get running games like HoN and CoH at maxed settings is hovers around 55C, and i don't have a well ventilated case either.

Pros: Very powerful, I have 2 of these in SLI and I can run Crysis at 1600x1200 on very high settings with 2x AA and produce around 30 fps.

Cons: A tad long, 2 of these really put out the heat. Wish I would have gone with the GTS or GTX series. Make sure your power supply can handle this card.

Other Thoughts: For those of you wondering, some newer revisions of this card are slightly shorter and only have one 6-pin connector. This is because the newer GPU uses a 55nm process instead of the 65nm, requiring less power. I received the 55nm AND 65nm versions, and they will still work together in SLI.

Rating + 4 A little Worrie . ..

Pros: Great Card. It plugged and played straight outta the box with little effort and a minimal install time for drivers and Physx. I still need to install up to date drivers but im in no hurry. Overall a great card, its also super silent!!! i upgraded from a Geforce 6800 and this thing is sounds like nothing compared to that. See below for the concern

Cons: I had to take an egg off because as stated in the specifications, there are supposed to be 2 six pin power connecters. 2. I got my card up and running and only realized that there is ONE 6 pin power connector on my card. It runs fine and stays around 56C but it has me a little worried. Can someone verify this for me?

Rating + 4 Almost Perfect

Pros: I play some older games (Oblivion, BF2) and this card pushes these games to my new monitor like the 7800GTX it replaced never could. I can put all my games at highest settings and play for hours and hours w/o any problems. There have been no heat problems in my huge Antec case with plenty of cooling.

Cons: When doing Windows stuff like browsing the web or typing documents in Word, I noticed that the text just doesn't look quite right. The text isn't as sharp as what I had from my old card. It wasn't bad enough to justify returning the card but I am still a little disappointed. Hopefully this can be cleared up with a little more tweaking.

Other Thoughts: If you don't need to max out Crysis then this is a great card for gamers on a budget.

Rating + 2 TDR Issues

Pros: CUDA is amazing for Folding. Runs most games well with 2x AA and 2x AF at 1600x900. Price is good for the performance.

Cons: This card is plagued with TDR issues. Any drivers I use besides 178.24 stalls the boot just after the W...ows Logo appears. Also, the heatsink draws air from inside the case, across the board and back into the case. It does not draw cooler air from the outside of the case like others have said, as there are no slots on the end of the plastic case to pull air from outside of the case. Even if there was, you're still pumping hot air into the case, which is wrong. And running cool air across the board isn't why you have heatsink/fan combos. The board itself generates quite a bit of heat, the fan and heatsink dissipate and blow this heat away. Thats why you usually never idle below 40c with a newer graphics card.

Other Thoughts: This is my first and only PNY purchase. They are usually overpriced, but this was at such a big discount I had to bite. But the TDR issues from this card and other NV-92 cards aren't worth it. Replaced it with a 4850 and the TDR issues are gone. Currently, ATI has fewer TDR issues with older motherboards and processors, so go ATI if you're worried. But if you have newer parts, by all means nVidia is more future-proof with CUDA and PhysX. ATI's CAL is nowhere near CUDA's performance.

Rating + 5 Good card

Pros: Good card, runs most games at high or very high settings with no stuttering. The version I received had the fan switched so that it vents air from the case across the card and then out of the case.

Cons: HUGE card. But I guess most of the decent cards are huge now.

Other Thoughts: I received this as an RMA for a 1GB 9800GT which stopped working after several months of constant use. I'm pretty happy with this cardt, and if it does ever die it has a 3 year warranty and given how fast PNY RMA'd my last dead card I'm good with it.

Rating + 5 the fan on this card...

Pros: if you're arent to picky about fps and what you can do about overclocking, but is looking for a much appreciated upgrade, go with this.

Cons: none so far except size! make sure you research the type of cases out there.

Other Thoughts: the fan on this card is a different design, as others have stated it does blow in from the back and out into the motherboard. HOWEVER THERE IS A REASON WHY! : my guess is that if the air is most likely cooler on the outside of your case, (meaning the air in the room) is cooler, it benefits the card more because it blows cool air into the card instead of the opposite: blowing hot air from the inside of the case, and out. because this card blows air from the out, into the case, im guessing the designers are assuming that your case is very well ventilated case and has a proper cooling system. i think if you were to blow cool air into the card, the card will last longer because the card is constantly being cooled by the outside air. so really just make sure your case has a great ventilation system.

Rating + 5 the fan....

Pros: it'll run today's games such as the ones people have stated. if you aren't too picky and just want to play games. get this.

Cons: size! be careful about your case. research case types.

Other Thoughts: there's a reason why it blows in and then out onto the motherboard. assuming that this card does handle many of today's games that require high cpu speccs, there's a valid reason for the design of the card. the air outside of the comp is generally most likely cooler than the inside of your comp will ever be. since that's common sense. the designers see that sucking in cool air will benefit the card more instead of sucking in hot air from the inside of your comp, out. therefore making the card much hotter. IN OTHER WORDS: blowing in cool air benefits the card more to keep it cool, rather than blowing in hot air from the comp. this is assuming that your case has a great ventilation system. this is my assumption towards this card.

Pros: Following up last review.

Cons: After some more testing, this card runs at around 85-90c under the load of pretty much any modern game. It is pulling air in from the rear vent and the fan, then blowing it out over my hard drive / RAM / chipset and also greatly increasing the ambient case temps. The air it is pulling in from the rear vent, is my rear-fan exhaust so it's pushing hot air over the GPU heatsink, which makes the air hotter, then exhausts it in to my case. Temps are so high under any sort of load that I'm suffering graphic issues and system halts.

Other Thoughts: I'm currently in contact with PNY over the issue, and seeing about getting an RMA for this card. The current 9800GTX+, as seen on PNY's website, looks to have corrected the design of the heat/airflow management so I'm hoping they'll give me the corrected version of the card for this flawed version. The version shown on this product page is also incorrectly designed for heat/airflow management just by looking at the picture. My guess is they're selling off the remaining stock in the two older versions. These older versions are just as good as the new version that PNY sells direct, they just have terrible heat/airflow management so you'll either have to upgrade the fan/heatsink assembly, or RMA the card with PNY. Not sure what Newegg would do to RMA the item, I don't know if they'll give you another old version or get you the corrected new version that PNY sells.

Pros: Runs great, replaced my XFX 9600GSO 768MB DDR2 and bumped my 3DMark06 score from 7500 to 10000, then bumped it to 13800 when I re-installed the 9600GSO as a dedicated PhysX card. Even on high the fan isn't that loud. Runs anywhere between 40-45c at idle. FPS on CoD4 runs between 90-130+ on all high settings, not sure what it tops out at because my max FPS was set to 130.

Cons: Under a heavy load, like Crysis Warhead(all Gamer settings, 1600x900 windowed), it runs pretty hot...about 80-82c max so far which tends to heat up the inside of my case pretty bad, blows hot air all over my memory and hard drives towards the front of the case. I *think* the slot vent is actually pulling air in to feed the fan/heatsink on this card, and the air it may pulling in is the hot exhaust air from my rear fan. I need to look further in to this to be sure, if it is pulling air in that is a HUGE no-no and would make this card complete garbage in my opinion. The card is also pretty heavy, I was surprised at how much this thing weighed.

Other Thoughts: This product page is incredibly inaccurate. There's only one 6-pin PCI-E power plug port on the card, not two. The heatsink/shroud run all the way to the slot vent and isn't rounded like in the product picture. The fan is actually bigger, about 80mm, and sits in the center. The card is overclocked from the factory, out of the box the clocks are; core = 740MHz, shader = 1836MHz, memory = 1100MHz. I realized this when I tried to overclock it and it wouldn't take more than 6%/4%/10% overclock. Some users may have to underclock this card if airflow is an issue for them. Due to the airflow/heat on this card being a nightmare, I think that's why they were offering free shipping + free game + instant rebate + mail-in rebate. It's a great card, but may need the fan/heatsink replaced for one that manages the hot air a little better and directs it in a better area than your memory and hard drives.

Pros: Fast, Plays world of warcraft with High settings no problem, very little slowdown just some in wintergrasp at times but very happy with the proformance.

Cons: The company does not want to give you the rebate Ive called them twice and they keep giving me the run around I called newegg about the problem and newegg as always was very helpful, newegg issued me the rebate since it was valid, and they are dealing with pny

Pros: easy to install software runs pretty great even with my very underpowered power supply right now it kicked itself into the lowest setting to accomidate for the lack of power but still can run my Cod 4 with not much trouble dont worry i've got the Corsair 850W on its way cant wait to see this thing when it has the right amount of juice

Cons: really really really big i went from a Radeon X800 to this thing and i read all the reviews that say it big but in reality it is freakin huge!!!!!!!!!

Rating + 5 Great and CHEAP card

Pros: High FPS at high resolutions.
Games run great on high settings.
Extremely Realistic looking games.

Cons: FPS fluctuates a lot but wat card doesn't? Just wish it had the free WoW game when I bought it. Requires 2 6 pin PCI-E connectors, which mine didn't have, but I needed one with higher voltage anyway.

Other Thoughts: Great card especially for the price you pay. Doesn't freeze or anything, or overheat if you have good ventilation(or take the ventilation cover off the back of the computer, like I forgot to at first.) Right now my PSU doesn't have a high enough wattage(requires at least 450w and i had 350 watt) but I ordered a new one with 600w and 2 pci-e connectors.

Pros: Runs very well. With 4xAA and everything maxed out, FPS never dipped under 90 on CoD4 in a 40 player Broadcast server. I also got the one with 1x PCIe connector. CS:S at max? 100+ FPS on an unoptimized map. At 100% fan, idles at 46 degrees. Highest temp at 100% fan is 63 degrees.

Cons: There ARE some FPS fluctuations. Blame particle effects. Fan blows air the wrong way.

Other Thoughts: The air gets blown out in such a fashion that it flows downward into my PCI slot fan. Not intended, it just works out that way. If you have a decent fan setup, the cooling is no issue.

FYI: If you get two PCIe power slots, you have an older 65nm core. The newer ones use less power.

Rating + 4 Can SLI with GTS 250

Pros: Runs good with sufficient case cooling.

Cons: Fan/heatsink design.

Other Thoughts: I'm updating a previous post that was in error. This card uses the GTS 250 spacing for the SLI headers. I have paired it with a GTS 250 in SLI without any problems, and mechanically, the headers line up.

Pros: Can play any game I play on max.

Cons: PC freezes when trying to play games...Fan is stuck on 39% cannot be increased and the fan doesnt seem to blow any air out of the case at all but instead keep it all in! I have 2 pci slot fans on the way hopefully this will fix it.

Pros: Awesome card!! Runs every game in my room on rediculously high settings. Great Price! And came the day after I ordered it, and I just selected plain old free- 3-5 day shipping! WOW! And free COD World At War, Thanks Newegg!

Cons: REALLY LARGE!!! Yeah, its a masterpiece but very thick and long, but fotunetely fits snuggly in my normal size Hp Pavilion desktop, so really happy about that.

Other Thoughts: Bioshock, COD World at War, Company of Heroes, Oblivion, palys all these graphically demanding games on FULL, ULTRA HIGH settings hiting on average of 70 FRPS!!!! MY SWEET POUND CAKE, THATS FAST!!! Especially on my 2 year old machine.

Rating + 5 this thing is awesome

Pros: Don't know much about these things, all I know is that I'm now getting 91 FPS on COD4 at 1680x1050 w/ settings maxed. haven't done any benchmarks or anything, but the card performs well in real-world application. it's large, but not massive. it does take up two expansion slots on the back of your case, but it's not as long as some of the newer GTX 200 series cards.

Cons: included software wouldn't install any drivers for Vista Ultimate 32-bit or 64-bit (tried both). I had to go to Nvidia's website to get them.

Other Thoughts: I never understood why GPU card manufacturers also designed the card upside down. Maybe it's necessary? When the card is installed, the bottom side of the card's circuit board is visible at the top, and all the fancy writing and pretty fan/heatsink face downward.

Pros: I don't know what all these people's problems are. Must be bad luck cause mine works great. Mine has two pci connectors. I dont know the difference why people want the one's with two. Anyway, I run Grand Theft Auto 4, Fallout 3 and Bioshock on max settings no problem. You cant go wrong with this, especially if you run two of them with SLI!!

Cons: Crysis runs on max settings with this, but not the greatest. Not really a con!!

Other Thoughts: It's big card, so make sure you got room.

Pros: Last time I gave this card a bad review but the table has changed.

The card is now working and after talking to three PNY customer tech support, the last guy figured out and the problem was the drivers! He recommended me trying the older ones because there could of been conflict with my hardwares and boy was he right! I am now a happy PNY user once again! Also, I purchased the card a week earlier when CoD5 was given as a gift and so I contacted Newegg and they were more than happy to give me the game so that was a nice end on Newegg as well!

Cons: The design of the card is not the best, it looks great but heat is being drawn inside the computer instead of being blown out. Not a big deal if your computer has a good fan machine like mine

Pros: I received the rebate promptly. I had to RMA the first card because it would lock up constantly. The replacement card runs cooler and does not exhibit the same failure. I have not had any problems with it so far.

Cons: The heatsink/fan design is still the biggest drawback for this card.

Rating + 5 buyers need to READ

Pros: great card for the price

Cons: air blows into the case..

Other Thoughts: it seems everyone think they are getting ripped off when they don't get the 2x 6pin version, well you are wrong its the other way around, people need to read more about things. in short the 2x 6pin versions is really just the GTX (not +) with a new sticker on the card. you ask the difference well the GTX+ has a die shrink to 55nm while the non + is 65nm. so when you get 1x 6pin be happy because thats what you ordered!

LET ME MAKE THIS CLEAR! THE GTX+ IS NEWER WITH 1x 6PIN! LESS POWER USAGE AND 55NM! 2x 6PIN MEANS YOU GOT A REBAGED GTX WITH A PLUS STICKER ON IT! IT RUNS HOTTER, TAKES AN EXTRA 50WATTS AND IS A LOWER OVERCLOCKER!

other thought is this card is a good folding card, i have 2 of them hard at work but they won't overclocked 10mhz over anything. it's just the weak heatsink

Rating + 1 How do you spell junk? PNY

Pros: Cheap price, if you get the rebate. Runs as fast as any other 9800GTX+ until it locks up.

Cons: First of all, at stock settings, this card randomly locks up under load. I have an XFX board with identical specs that runs flawlessly under load for hours on end, so I doubt that I have a system problem. Anyway, I ran it on 3 completely different systems to rule this out. Under OCCT graphics stress testing, it hits 85C. This was in open air, so it will only get worse when installed in a chassis. As others have stated, the fan is oriented such that the hot air is expelled out the back of the card and into your case. When I ordered it, I thought that the Newegg picture was incorrect, and that it would look like the one on the PNY website for the VCG98GTXPXPB product code. Wrong! What you see here is what you get, and even with the 40USD rebate, you won't see me buying a second one! I'd RMA it, but any replacement would be the same bad design. Lastly, it doesn't even come shipped in an anti-static bag. The bean counters went wild making their cost reductions to this product.

Other Thoughts: This is more of a nVidia issue than anything, but many vendors are selling GTS 250 cards with a 9800GTX+ BIOS (nVidia approved this practice). While electrically, this is not an issue, mechanically it is. The GTS 250 boards were designed with the SLI headers offset when compared to a 9800GTX+. For example, the XFX 9800GTX+ card that I have is a newer design that is the same physically as the GTS 250, while this PNY card uses normal 9800GTX+ spacings. What this means is that unless you have a flexible bridge, you won't be able to SLI them! Bottom line is that you better buy the same brand at the same time if you want SLI. Wake up nVidia! For Intel processors, Intel chipsets are the best. For AMD processors, AMD chipsets are the best. The only reason to buy your inferior products is for SLI,and if you make that difficult for the end-user you'll lose your GPU business as well. I was considering buying a 3rd card to benchmark tri-SLI, but not any more! My 3-way bridge won't fit.

Rating + 1 Multiple DOA's

Pros: None. Was never able to get it to work.

Cons: Bought one of these for a system I was building. Got everything put together and loaded Vista. As soon as I loaded the Nvidia driver, the system blue screened. After much troubleshooting determined the card was bad. New Egg RMA'd the card and sent me another. Had the same problem with it. Finally gave up and returned card to New Egg and bought a XFX card, put it in, loaded the Nvidia driver and it works perfectly.
On a side note, everything about this card (pictures and documentation) say it should have 2 6 pin connectors, both of the ones I received had only one 6 pin. PNY needs to start paying more attention to their Quality control and their documentation

Other Thoughts: I would be hard pressed to purchase any product from PNY again.
Would like to state that as always, New Eggs service was fantastic.

Rating + 1 Ripping off old customer?

Pros: I can't say that they don't have bad quality items since I have bought stuff from them before and been happy with it.

Cons: Like the reviewer below me, he bought this card hoping that it has 2 6 pin pci connectors and not 1 but unfortunately, I was also the unlucky buyer who received the 1 6 pin pci that came with this card.

On TOP of that, the card was basically DOA and had to be returned AND now they are giving away a free cod5 game! Talk about bad luck but PNY should sell the exact item they advertise on their site like the reviewer said below. Man, I should of gone with EVGA too, I was deciding between the two and I chosed a bad road.

Rating + 2 know what you are buying

Pros: From the cards I installed, I got great frames in WoW on max settings, and smoother overall graphix on all 3 of my monitors (dual cards).

I paid 170 each, all 4 times I bought the card (last week), which was a deal in my opinion --they are going for about $50 cheaper now.

Cons: i bought two at best buy, one which had 2 six pin power slots on the board, and was the full 11", and the other was about 9" long and only had one six pin power slot... both had the fans backwards blowing air into the case. tried again with Amz. , which also pictured the newer model with the correct fan, size, and power slots, again, recieved two 9" cards with one 6 pin power slot. cant find any documentation online reguarding the different versions of the cards, thier temperature differences, performance, etc. pny sells the card direct from its website (which also shows the new version, but who knows if you'll get it) for over $200. im returning these again, and never buying PNY in the future. 4 chances is enough, I'm ordering the EVGA ones right now, which have better reviews and only ONE version... I like to know I'm going to recieve what I purchased, and not look alikes, knockoffs, or your random pick of older versions of the card.

Other Thoughts: PNY needs to invest in some buyer confidence by consolidating their models, having a box which the card is visible through a portion of it, or having material readily available on each version of the card and its comparison to the others before it decides to sell all 3-4 versions as the same.

Rating + 1 don't put it into a mac

Pros: I couldn't install the card

Cons: I couldn't install the card

Other Thoughts: I have a mac pro dual dual 2.66ghz with 5 gb of ram. It's about 3 years old and I got it for basically compiling. It's a great computer, but it's not a game computer. I realized this when I put the card in and it didn't come with the PCIe aux power cables that fit the MB. After talking with apple they had no clue what I was talking about ,even though there are cables for the 5000$ graphics cards offered, but the cables are not sold. I would have to buy them from a 3rd party would and that would cost another 60$. For the price of the card plus 60$ it just wasn't worth it for the possibility that it MIGHT work, no guarantee. It looks like an awesome graphics card, but not worth dealing with building a gaming comp on top of my already fantastic computer I own.

Newegg customer service was fantastic and I give them massive credit, just wish that someone had said, this won't work at all with the very high end mac gear. But they don't have that control.

Rating + 4 Not bad, not bad at all.

Pros: PNY's 9800GTX+ provides the speed and power of a Mid-High level card. If you enjoy playing typical PC games such as Team Fortress 2 (or any other Valve game for that matter), Call of Duty 4 / 5, or Bioshock, you will surely enjoy this card. It provides the power to max out all of the games mentioned above without problem, though there may be a stutter here and there (but it's not something that will effect gameplay at all).

Video card looks nice and overclocks fairly well. I've pushed mine to about 805 MHz core clock from the standard 738 which isn't bad at all.

Cons: If you're into really High-end gaming and demand the frame rates in games such as Crysis, you will be disappointed. I've done a good amount of research on this card (in addition to owning a copy for myself), and Crysis makes this card beg for mercy. I knew the 9800GTX+ wasn't the best card out there, but I at least expected it to run smoothly on High at the maximum resolution on High settings. Perhaps I'm just hard to please, or I set my expectations too high for this card. Game is still playable, but expect constant FPS drops in-game and suffer a major disadvantage in online because of the inconsistent FPS with this game.

Crysis talk aside, another potential problem I see if the way it was designed. Seems like this card just blows hot air all inside the case. I like the other GTX+ designs where the air was blown into the card and vented OUT of the case... In addition to this (I might have a defective card), it runs hot on higher resolutions with dual monitors, even when idol.

Other Thoughts: A good card for the price. Plays all games you throw at it pretty well- with the exception of Crysis. But I suppose if you want the best performance out of that game, go for the GTX260 or the GTX280.

If you're not a CryObsessor, you will thoroughly enjoy this card. The price is a bit high compared to some other similar models on NewEgg which is a bit of a turn-off for me. Can't wait to buy another GTX+ and Sli them.

Rating + 1 Stay away from PNY!!!!!!!!!

Pros: Good while it works, but then you are left with an expensive paper weight.

Cons: I just had a PNY card from May of 2007 go bad on me. My original receipt stated a 3 year warranty. Fine I will just RMA the card just like I have done with EVGA, XFX. The card isn't 2 years old yet. I try to register it and I get a message that the card is over it's warranty period. I build 15 to 30 gaming PC's a year for different ppl and I will never again buy or recommend a PNY product. Products go bad that's expected but when the don't stand behind it or even give you an opportunity to claim a problem then I suggest to by from a manufacture that does. PNY you have a chance to respond to this and give me a contact person and make things write or I will continue to warn the public of your bad business. You have an opportunity to have this retracted.

Rating + 5 Great Card for the money

Pros: This card works great... the specs must have changed as there was only one 6 pin power connector required. Runs everything great and as usual newegg made this a great experience. (Fast shipping and a good price.)

Cons: None that I can think of... card works great.

Other Thoughts: Power specs can be confusing if you don't follow this stuff. You do not need a powersupply with a 26A 12V source (you probably won't have much luck trying to find one).. you do need a power supply with more than one 12V rail that totals at least 26A (1 12A and 1 14A for example). I was able to use a PSU that had 2 12V rails (1 16.5A [CPU] and 1 15A [I/O]) .

Hopefully this information can be useful to someone out there.

Rating + 3 Beware!!!!

Pros: Card is cheap for the performance and runs the games like is nobody's business. thats the good...

Cons: The bad.. The only reason I didnt send this back is because I had (6 hours before) cut the UPC for the rebate..it seems that Nvidia has for some unknown reason removed the FULL SCREEN VIDEO MIRRORING feature ( the ability to play full video on a secondary display(TV) while still being able to use the Main one and do some work on the pc starting from their 86xx models on up and NONE of the models for W...Vist... Funny thing is that ATI is still doing it I wanted to go and get this swapped for an ATI HD radeon 4870 which btw beats this card out in every way possible.

Other Thoughts: Sad to think i got rid of my ATI for this and now Im looking at the ati card to get rid of THIS one...Wish Nvidia would think of the consumers who would also like to use their NEW card to watch movies on the TV without having to swap between primary and secondary displays ( complete waste of time)

Why remove features that where in the old cards and one would assume are present in this one??

back to ati for me as the still support full screen one 1 display while the desktop is in use on the other display.

never in my dreams would I have thought that THIS was gonna be the reason to ditch the 9800 gtx.

Pros: It is what it is. It's a $100+ GPU. If you're looking at this, then you know what you want.

Cons: I got the problem of "Demoshield Player" which basically means the CD wouldn't play, and I couldn't install my drivers. This BSoD'd my computer, but I installed windows 7 beta and it works now. I think this is the fault of the system, not the GPU. Google "demoshield stops working" and you'll see it's computer related, not GPU.

Rating + 5 One of the Best Cards I owned so far.

Pros: This card is just amazing. It runs very cool and it has a nice overclock right out of the box. I was able to overclock even more then the normal 738 Core clock. I got it to 790 with no problems at all and could probably push it even higher. This card plays all games at max like CoD4, Far Cry 2, and even Crysis at highest settings. While there are better cards out there (GTX 260, 280, etc.) this is the one with the best bang for your buck.

Cons: Absolutely no cons with this card. The only thing I am angry about is the fact that I bought it from Best Buy for $235 about 2 months ago. Seeing it at $119 here on Newegg makes quite upset with the waste of money.

Other Thoughts: I should have looked to Newegg from the beginning. They always have the best prices and the best customer service if anything should happen. If you plan to get this card, or any computer related item, get it here at Newegg. Stores are so overpriced its not even funny.

Pros: SLI'd nicely. came with all the connectors one could need (even for us people with several VGA monitors sitting around). I SLI'd two of these and they run all the modern games with no trouble at all.

Cons: a little large, but one could shop for a smaller card if they wanted a small one.

Other Thoughts: be advised this is a dual-slot card.. odds are in any but the largest motherboard it will cover up a PCI slot or two. shop smaller if that really concerns you.
also, the heat really isn't an issue if you have things set up right, do not let that deter you and if it does just consider another fan? cheap fix I say.

Cons: My only regret (as I write this on March 12, 2009) is that they are currently out of stock at newegg. Hope they are back in soon so I might complete my dream of first-time SLI.

Other Thoughts: Card comes with a full complement of connectors, a very nice open heat sink which seems to dissipate heat nicely, and it is incredibly quiet. Takes up two PCI slot spaces (are there any out there that do not anymore?). Comes with power adapter (molex to SATA). Great reviews on this card specifically elswewhere.

Pros: very fast. used mostly only PNY in the past and have had great luck with them.

Cons: fan pushes hot air out the back of the card into the case. how they came up with that i have no idea. only game i really play is CoD (that came with the card, which is pretty cool) and the card runs hot. i have good ventilation and the computer freezes and shuts down sometimes when i play CoD. im assuming its the gpu because my amd runs ~35c in game

Rating + 4 Interesting card.

Pros: Faster than I could imagine a card being. 299 Frames per second on (CSS MAX SETTINGS) De_Aztec was nice to see. Ran around the MAP and shot at water and looked at gloom from lights. Was amazing to see the difference from my old 7800GTX.

Cons: The cooling on this card. The whole design seems aweful. Why isn't pulling air from the front to the back? It is just pulling air and pushing it down under itself. That is just stupid.

These PCIe cards need to be flipped around so that they blow hot air UP!

Other Thoughts: Fortunately there is enough air movement in my case to keep that hot air bubble from staying under my card for too long.

Rating + 5 PNY continues to shine!!!

Pros: Upgraded from 2 yr old MSI 7900GS which served me well. This card took a giant leap in performance over the 7900 GS. I use an Antec Plusview 1000amg full tower case so I did not have space or cooling issues (like other reviewers) due to the large size and fan placement on this card. Installation was a snap and over the last 3 days has performed flawless. I also did not receive some of the connectors (no big deal as I build my own computers and have most connectors on hand). I read a lot of tech data/reviews (here) before
I purchased and the 9800 GTX+ was clearly a best buy choice.

Cons: None ... This is the 4th generation PNY video card I have purchased over the years and PNY's high standard of quality has not declined!! Be sure this card will fit and be properly cooled in your case before you buy. My only concern was powering the card but my 550 watt PSU handled the task with no problem.

Other Thoughts: Buy this card. Best performance vs. price!! I still have all original installed PNY memory in my computer with no issues and with my experience with PNY video cards I will continue to purchase and recommend their products.

My system:
Antec Plusview 1000amg full tower case w/550 watt psu

AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ dual core processor

Rating + 4 Very Nice

Pros: Runs almost everything on high or better, fallout 3, farcry 2. The temp doesn't change much between idle and load about 6 degrees C on my setup.

Cons: Runs hotter at idle than most cards I've used, averages about 63 celsius. It's huge, runs the full length of my motherboard, I can see where people may have problems depending on where connectors are. Blows air to the front of the case. The card arrived without any of the items listed as coming with it, in their place I received a note telling me to call the manufacturer and have the pieces shipped to me, not a huge deal but still a pain.

Other Thoughts: Mine only has 1 six pin connection as well. The fact that I had to order the additional adapters would have knocked off another egg, but this card is phenomenal for the price.

Rating + 5 Sweet Card

Pros: I switched from a pair of 8600 GT's to this baby and out performs them both in anything i throw at it.

Cons: The barrel fan it has points the wrong way. More than likely, it can be modded with something else per your preference.

Other Thoughts: A friend of mine has the 9800 GTX version from PNY and it seems the designation of a second 6-pin is replaced with a capacitor. Also there was a flier in my box saying the HDMI audio cable, the molex to 6-pin, and the DVI to HDMI adapter is not on the package. His fan points the correct direction too, other than that the only real difference between cards is the name GTX and GTX+ and higher clocks.

Pros: So far everything I've thrown at it has run on all high; Source games, Bioshock, WoW, STALKER, Tomb Raider: Underworld, Tom Clancy's HAWX demo, and Burnout paradise...

Cons: None really, computer was glitchy for awhile before I updated drivers, but nothing else since.

Other Thoughts: For some reason I only have 1 6-pin plug... Is this a manufacturing fault or a change that hasn't been updated? Everything I've looked at so far, including their site has said it requires two.

Pros: This card can definatelt handle anything that you throw at it with no problem. It actually outperforms my 1gb video card. Great for the price.

Cons: The card is huge, got to make sure that you have room for it in your case. I have a full size case and i tstill dominates the space.

Other Thoughts: Requires a lot of power to run this thing and it pulls air from behind the case and throws it into the case. Kinda wierd.

Pros: Solid Card it takes whatever I can throw at it with no problem.

Cons: It blows hot air back into the case. Get an exhaust fan for the front of your case.

Other Thoughts: Other than the goofy design of the GPU fan this thing is a beast. Crysis runs Pretty close to full out and Hellgate London is no problem Full blown.

Other Thoughts: make sure you have enough room.

Rating + 3 Good card but crashes

Pros: Good card. Surprising quiet fan too compared to previous 9800GT by XFX.

Cons: Crashes, crashes and more crashes with this card. Power supply is more than enough, all drivers are up to date but whenever I run games like Call of Duty 5 or even WoW, midway through, the whole screen would go into streaks of random colors or B&W, completely freezing the computer. I have never had such a issue until I bought this card. And even with Company of Heroes on max it lags and I had to restart the computer to temporary fix the problem. Never had this issue on the XFX 9800GT running CoH on max. I am positive that it is this card that is causing the problems and not anything else.

Just like others have said, this card seems to blow air the wrong way, in instead of out...

Rating + 5 Perfect card, great Newegg price

Pros: Set up (SLI) and installation was a snap. Can run games wide open with all the eye candy @ 1900x1200.

With the discount and rebate, the price was right.

All cables included. Worked well in my new build.

New Big Bang NVIDIA drivers rock.

Cons: Why can't I get a rebate on two cards in an SLI setup?

Idles at 45C, seems a little hot?

Other Thoughts: Lots of comments about air blowing in/out of the case. The pictures do not show any connection between the fan and the bracket vent. An SLI setup packs two cards together, and one fan is almost blocked. We need to find a way to vent out the edge of the card so no fans are blocked.

Why doesn't Newegg list the physical card size on the website? Mine fit fine, but still, I didn't know until I got it.

Pros: Runs all of the games i throw on it at max settings, and i'm not skimping on anything here, everything at the highest possible. the fan on this sucker is quieter than a dead rodent and it runs at 30 degrees celsius. this card amazes me in so many ways.. i'm not even temped to overclock because it's fine right out of the box. 260's and 280's? please, i have a 9800 gtx+ =)

Cons: it IS the size of your forearm, this isn't an exaggeration. sometimes i don't know if my computer is running

Other Thoughts: buy it.

Pros: Card performs very well under extreme load... i cant complain about the airflow towards the middle of the case, having upgraded from twin 9600 gt's in sli. They did the same thing, so i didnt mind at all. Price to performance wise this card rocks! It can take anything you throw at it and then ask for secconds! This card gives AMD a run for the money...

Cons: NONE! BUY THIS CARD!

Other Thoughts: AGAIN BUY THIS CARD! TWO OR THREE OF EM!

Rating + 4 Great Card, Odd HSU

Pros: Fast, stable, easily oc'able to 800, 1200. Worked well in a multi-card PHYSX configuration with my old 8800GS. Scored a 12000(ish) in 3DMark06 stock on an X2-6400/4gig system.

Cons: The only reason this card gets a 4 star is it's unusual heatsink design that blows the air into the middle of your case. Not logical - don't really understand what they were thinking.

Other Thoughts: Card reads as a 65nm, not willing to take off the HSU to check but beware it might be a repack/OC of the standard GTX.

Pros: Looks great, nice packaging, great price. I know this is a given but I went from a 6800 GS AGP to this and yeah, theres a little difference. :)

Cons: I was missing two adapters but I have already contacted PNY about those.

Other Thoughts: I am really happy with this card. It installed without issue and works just fine with the latest nvidia drivers with BF 2142, COD world at war, UT3, Crysis Warhead.

Rating + 5 Nice card - not as pictured...

Pros: Great price / performance ratio. Runs fairly cool. Looks nice. Comes with two DVI to VGA converters for those of us hanging onto old monitors...

Cons: Doesn't exhaust warm air out the back like the photos would indicate. Instead the air is blown towards the front of the case - the grill in the back is just open to the case. This went into a well designed case with plenty of air throughput so in my situation it's not a problem but if your case doesn't have good air movement it could be a problem....

Cons: HUGE card, but you know that before you buy.
The new fan design is kind of bad.

Other Thoughts: Other than the 2 cons I listed, the card is a GREAT buy. It performs VERY close to a gtx200 series card, for about half the price.

Rating + 5 Perfect Card

Pros: This card was installed without a hitch on my new setup. I do have to say this card is so quiet its perfect. I tested this on CS:S but again it shouldnt be a problem for this kind of card. Also it comes out to 144.00 (after rebate).

Cons: The one thing that makes this card not perfect is it didnt come with a DVI to VGA adapter and a DVI to HDMI! I called PNY and they had me fax my receipt to have the adapters shipped free of charge. Its not a real con because they will ship them to me but a annoyance none the less.

Other Thoughts: I dont know why people are complaining about this card. I bought mine on black friday and received the model that blows air out of the case. On another note, this did cover my sata ports so check that when buying this. I managed to get a new motherboard so thats fixed now. As to the missing adapters PNY said this was rare but I do remember reading about it missing (the HDMI) in a review in some other website. Anyway perfect card and perfect customer support.

Rating + 5 Awesome!!!

Pros: Runs games at a much higher FPS than my previous card. Card does run warm but my case stays very cool so I really didnt notice an increase in the temp. The fan runs pretty quiet too. The card is big but I didnt have to mod my case... only had to move my hard drive. For the price this is a VERY good card. Would recommend to anyone looking to upgrade without having to blow a wad of cash. I can run everything without any lag on max rez (1680x1050) and 4x anti-ailiasing with all the other goodies turned on. GREAT CARD!!! The $40 rebate on top of it being on sale was an added plus too!

Cons: Other than the size, the fan doesnt channel the hot air out of the case. In the picture on the website it doesnt show the new look... the fan blows straight down instead of pulling air in and blowing it out the back of the case. Again my case runs cool so im not worried but someone else may have issues with it.

Other Thoughts: You will need two 6 pin connectors to power this badboy. So make sure you have a power supply that has 2 pci-e 6pin connectors, if not then it also comes with a 4 pin power adapter. One idea though... since this card is obviously huge and is meant to be flashy... why not add a illuminated logo on the side for us computer cases modifiers... obviously the big plasitc casing only covers the heat sink on this thing and it doesnt channel air out the back of the case, so why not add some flare to it. With a card this big isnt it kind of meant to be shown off anyways!?! Just my opinion anyways.

Rating + 1 Blows air wrong way! Now I'm mad!

Pros: powerful card, very quite

Cons: Just like phil below me, I bought this card because it blows air out the back. But they changed it! Now the fan is near the mounting bracket, blowing hot air all over inside my case. Being a cooler nerd, I specifically got this to blow air out my case! It has jumped my motherboard temp from 27 C to 32 C.. which is way more than what I wanted.

Other Thoughts: Well! not buying from PNY anymore. Can't trust them to give me a properly oriented card. Even the instruction booklet and everything shows the card as it is in the pictures. Gonna have to return it to newegg.... curse you PNY!

Pros: Upgraded from a 7600 GS and I must say this is a very nice upgrade from that my previous card. If you're looking for a card that you don't want to spend too much money on I'd go with this!

Game wise I have noticed a enormous difference, From Team Fortress 2, I had on Medium (no anti-aliasing) and averaged about 40-60 fps, When i got my new video card (on max possible settings) I average to about 100-140 fps, 80 at the lowest, and 140 the highest! I can play Far Cry 2 at max settings (with 2x Anti-Aliasing) and i can get 30-40 fps average!

Get this card if you're behind

Cons: Look at your forearm, Thats the size of this video card, I have a pretty big case and it JUST fits in there.

Also make sure you have a good powersupply (minimum of 500W) and I recommend 650W or more

besides the Size, and a powersupply theres nothing else I can think of

Other Thoughts: Great Great GREAT! I'd recommend this to anyone who needs a new card! (its also cool to show off, because its so massive)

Rating + 5 Hats Off to PNY

Pros: Aside from the obvious specs of this card, ease of installation, and some useful accessories in the box (which even looks really cool)...this is a good looking card! It's very stable, can still be tweaked more if you prefer and is ROCK STABLE. If you think need more..buy a 260/280. Bottom line...all my games maxed, with sweet physics (Far Cry 2 is GREAT) 1680x1050 due to LCD limitation. Zero problems! Countless wows!

Cons: NOT a bad thing, but the card, as I said, looks great:so why would they NOT put the fancy-looking showboat-side UP where it could be seen?

Other Thoughts: Like the nature of all these series, it is long and dual-slot sized. Fits into the Antec 9 & 12 series cases with four HDD no problems. Works great on ASUS P5NE & P5NE sli boards no prob. You will require two 6-pin molex:)

Rating + 5 just installed in on a old AMD 3700+ (single core) @2.8ghz

Pros: Surprisingly fast and smooth graphics, noticeably faster in 3dMark. Quieter than my previous 7950GX2, and runs much cooler, only 40'c after 3dMark06 with fan turned to 90%. Now I can run Physx & CUDA. The 9800GTX+ uses the smaller 55nm, vs the 65nm chip. Less wattage, more overclocking ability. (not that you need to overclock this, they come factory OC'd 738 vs 675mhz!) This card is a excellent value, and ALOT of video card for the money. 95% as fast as the newer 260 or 4870's.

Cons: 1) Really long length. It covered my SATA ports, I wasn't able to plug in harddrives. I spent an hour cutting the new plastic cover out to allow access to the SATA ports. Two in SLI will require a special power supply or four 6-pin power plugs. and "fogettabowdit" if you plan on using any other PCI ports, this will fill all available space in SLI.

2) only 2fps faster (avg) in 3dMark2005 vs my old 7950GX2. Score was only 1500 higher. Bottlenecking due to old AMD 3700+ processor and cheap RAM.

3) I'm having problems with the nVidia drivers. The new 178.24 crashes alot. The old drivers do not include Physx or CUDA, and benchmarks show that.

Other Thoughts: I really regret not buying this from Newegg. Usually when I buy from newegg, it arrives in 3 days. I bought it from the auction website, mine was used, missing parts, and took 8 days to get here. It was the older 65nm 9800GTX, not the "+" model.

I planned on buying a AMD Phenom 9950, a nVidia 260 or 9800GX2 (or a ATI 4970) but ended up winning bid on this one. I really don't think you'll see this is any less-fast than a 280 or GX2 unless your running a new CPU highly overclocked. These 9800GTX's are so fast, I think they are waiting for your CPU. The newer, more expensive GPU cards are only a fraction faster, and alot more money honestly. This 9800GTX is a very good value, and is overkill on most games.

Pros: Price and perfomance.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I got this card at Best Buy to upgrade from an 8800 GTS 320mb, and it is twice as fast on the applications I've tested so far. I'm also runnig it on PCI 2.0, so that will increase performance some. For around $200, this is a great card. It performs very well and the graphics are smooth. Runs cool and quiet too. Its not going to have quite as much muscle as some of the newer more expensive cards, but its not far behind.

Pros: Blazing speed, HUGE overclocks, Nvidia's always stellar drivers, good heatsink, runs fairly cool and is NOT LOUD. Great price.

Cons: Yeah, its big, but any high-end card these days is, so . . .

Other Thoughts: Bought a AMD 4870HD but returned it because of poor drivers, game issues (Stalker:CS, Crysis Warhead- the game I bought i for). Picked this up for $100 and got BETTER performance in Crysis Warhead I kid you not, no invisible fences in Stalker and easy dual-monitor setup with Nvidia drivers. I am VERY happy with this card. Almost bought a 280GTX but with the performance I'm getting why bother . . .
