Fast enough for awhile
Pros: Upgraded to this from an 8800GTX. Solid upgrade, but wasn't as epic as going from an X1900XT to the 8800GTX. Runs Crysis Warhead well with a mix of Medium/High/Very High @ 1920x1200. Runs pretty much every other game maxed, including CoH, CoD 5, Fallout3, L4D, UT3, FEAR 2, GTA 4 (only with a quad core cpu). Accelerates Adobe CS4 Apps. Lifetime warranty.
Cons: Noisy when fan spins up all the way, like most high-end cards with stock coolers. Not as wow-inducing as the 8800GTX was when it came out. Might be better off buying a 4890 @ 900/4000 now.
Other Thoughts: I'm running a Q9550 @ 3.6, Gigabye P45, 4gb OCZ SLI-ready, Velociraptor, Thermaltake ToughPower 750w, Antec P182, Dell 2407WFP.
I got it for only $350 way back in August via Live Cashback @ TD.

Killer Card--A Must Buy!!
Pros: Faster than the GTX 260 Core 216 It replaced. Purchase price of $269.00 Brand New Not a game I can;t max out--@ 1920X1080 Crysis,FC2,COD 4, GTA 4 ..Nothing Crysis VERY HIGH setting with no AA runs flawless!! GTA 4 all very high textures with 26 View distance
Cons: Very Hot!! Runs @ 85 c when @ full load--Fan spins @ 100% on Auto MY GTX 260 Core 216 55nm wads much quieter and cooler running.
Other Thoughts: For the price I paid there is no better deal!!! I found it for $269.99 at a local retailer!! Sorry EGG --I still buy from you most of the time.

Good Card Bad Trade up
Pros: Great performance on this card. The GTX 280 owns all of the console Ports (2560x1600 at various levels of AA).
Cons: High power requirements, my older BFG 550 watt PSU didn't cut it, I had to get a PC Power & Cooling 650watt (the stated minimum 12volt Rail Amperage is no joke). Huge card (got full server case, but still..) covered up 2 SATA connectors.
Other Thoughts: The trade up with BFG is a joke. If you are a hardware enthusiast like me, you are on the edge of your seat everytime you hear a diesel engine (expecting another package via UPS from newegg). This is where NewEgg shines, because they deliver so quickly (next day!) I put in for a Trade up on March 13th from BFG's site. As of today, April 8th, they are still checking into inventory for the card. In the meantime, bfgstore shows the card in stock shipping the same day for the past month (gtx 285). I've used EVGA in the past for their step-up, and from when I initiated the step-up to when I had my card in hand was little under 2 weeks. BFG has a good reputation for quality tech support, I would be wrong to deny that. However if you are planning on trading up your card in 100 days, look elsewhere ( towards EVGA ).
The best part was when I called and complained about how long it was taking, they said, "oh you can cancel your order if you want"... yea thanks, I didn't realize that...

Awesome card
Pros: Greatly increased my FPS in game. Currently playing Darkfall online. I mainly notice the difference when in large siege battles. A lot of ppl in vent are complaining they can't move etc, and I'm runnin around wacking on ppl with no problem.
Very easy installation, took me about 5 mins to pop it in and install the software.
Cons: Size...better make sure you can fit it into your machine.

Super Fast but Super Hot - SLI Review in Win 7 & XP
Pros: Price, price, price... Relatively cheap compared to other similar cards in the market (lookout for 10% discount usually during weekends). Solid build & performance during heavy gaming in SLI with maxed out settings. Smooth frames in SLI (avg. 46fps in fraps) and no artifacts after 4 hrs of crysis at 16x10.5 with 8x AA (the hardest test you can run I.M.O.) Maxed out settings in COD4&5 (need to specify dual cards in options), GRID, Frontlines, FC2, Assassins C., and GRAW2. Phys-X build in!!!
Cons: Very Hot! My PC started to blow like a steam engine during Crysis (max settings). These things suck a lot of air but also blow it all out in no time, my point - have a dedicated fan blow directly at them. Not the newer 285 model with 55nm chip. Size - Huge, you need to make sure you have room for two. Power Hungry, currently being fed with a dedicated TT 650W VGA PSU (~$110 extra). These cards love to go to sleep in Win7. I'm running a Gateway 24" lcd and it doesn't respond at times. Could very well be Win7 and not the cards.
Other Thoughts: Great setup for $600 if that's your cup of tea, or even better with a dedicated VGA PSU for +$100. I love to game so my objective was to stick with my old rig while overhauling the GPU, hence invest all funds in a dedicated graphics. Rig specs: e6700 oc 2.9ghz (enough for me) evga 680i dominator 2x2 800mhz with fan TT Big Typhon TT 850 modular PSU TT 650 VGA PSU 2 x 36gb raptors in stripe for OS and apps 2 x 72gb raptors in stripe for games 2 x these babys in SLI X-FI Fatality 1tb wg for storage dvd + floppy TT Armor Aluminum case (weighs a ton now) 2 x TT bay cages with 120mm fans + 120mm fan rear, + 90mm + 90mm top rear and top of case
p.s. for the first time after 4 years of owning this rig, I have managed to fully max it. The PCI slots have no more space as 2 cards, sound card, + VGA PSU cable have take all of them. With the addition of VGA PSU in the front I was forced to give up my third TT Cage 120mm fan, which kind of sucks...but I'm still happy... Cheers..

Drool, Drool...
Pros: games look GREAT! I can max almost everything out. I can run Crysis on High pretty smoothly. (you need DX10 for very high settings) its a nice card!
Cons: This card is HUGE! it touches the other side of my cooler master mystique case, and barely fits. it also runs REALLY hot. before installing my 3rd case fan, while playing crysis it became so hot i couldn't touch it. thank goodness it didn't do damage... i think a lot of that has to do with its size... can you say airflow issues? now it averages about 79 deg. Celsius during intense gaming. I don't know how hot it was then! it also didn't fit properly in my case at first... i'm not sure if it was the cards fault, or my case, but i had to slightly bend the prongs that slide into the slots on the back of the case for it to clear. no big deal, but i didn't want to do it.
Other Thoughts: just make sure you cool this puppy and you will be alright.

Works good for me
Pros: Saw an improvement in FPS and content from the start. Moved up from an 8600GTS. Was debating on getting 9800 GTX 1 GIG or a 260, go figure, I get the 280GTX. Thought about even getting an even higher one, but I plan to SLI these within a year so don't think I need to buy a more expensive card. Maybe even use three of these.
Cons: Debated too long on a new video card when I could have gotten 2 games instead of one. My fault for being a procrastinator.
Other Thoughts: Antec 900 Antec 650 PS Crosshair II MB Vista Ultimate 64 bit Amd 6400 x's 2 (Quad core soon) 4 Gigs Mushkin 1066(soon to be 8 Gigs) Runs on 800Mhz due to duel core limitations, will be faster after I receive my quad.(Trying to future proof Ram better) Bfg 280GTX 615 core
Runs all my games smooth. Works great with Fear 2 and Dead space, etc, etc

Screaming Fast
Pros: This card is fast. I was coming from using a GeForce 7600 GS to this. I'm able to play BF2 with everything on high, including AA. I can play Empire: Total War with everything on Ultra High and still get very good frame rates. Other older games I play don't even heat this thing up.
Cons: Hottest I've seen it get yet under full load is 64 C.
Not hardly a con though.
Other Thoughts: I was afraid heat would be an issue for me, but with this card I've found that controlling the fan speed via the nvidia control panel keeps me nice and cool.
Definitely an excellent card.

Good card
Pros: I've got the card from B&M in Sunnyvale CA, store couldn't print the rebate form ate the register, and they promised to mail it to me. From my experience, I shall not hope for that rebate. The form is specific for the store, and to be eligible at BFG it has to be the original print copy. So, most likely I will return that card.
I played two days already with this card, it overheats :(. I have four 120 mm fans blowing in the case, and spot fan inside too, but the card overheats after around and hour play. I play Far Cry 2, everything on maximum graphic quality, 24" monitor AND Physics. It works smoothly though. After an hour develops artifacts and in 10 seconds after that locks the system and reboots. I guess would be OK to under clock it and still use it, but then, is it worth 100 dollars more than the GTX260 from Evga? I don't think so. My total before rebate was 299 bucks.

Nvidia is on the Ball
Pros: Definately a well made card. So far temps are the card are real good, performs well with all 3d games, and Nvidia has stepped up their driver support. Lifetime guarantee and great bundle (Far Cry2 and 3dMark Advantage) with the card. Good instructions with the card for HDMI audio as well as connection wires. Even get a BFG keychain flashlight.
Cons: Only con that really got my upset was the dayafter I purchased the card Newegg put up another 10% promo code on the item!!!! Sent them a email to customer support seeing if they would allow me to get the extra 10% since only a day transpired between the initial purchase and the promo advertisement but never got a response. So I guess that was my answer. With todays economy everything helps.
Getting the lifetime warranty is a little bit of a hassle with BFG. Too many hoops to jump through.
Other Thoughts: Besides the con....Newegg always delivers excellent service and I have done many of business transactions with Newegg and have always been happy with their organization and how they deal with their customers. This item all in all was a eggcellent buy and I recommend it to anyone needing to upgrade.

Word.
Pros: Pushing this card through a 22" at 1920x1200 is a dream come true. Still trying to truly push this as games can't really give it a run for it's money.
Cons: Just make sure your case is where'd you like it to be for the size of this thing.
Other Thoughts: I was on the wall for the longest time whether to go 9800gtx+ SLI, or to buy a 260/280. I figured that since this is a college build, over the next 4 years I might end up having to stick to my new i7 rig through the whole thing. So buying one 280 GTX, will let me get another one of these in SLI next year for much less money. Or else if I got the 9800's then the cards might not compete so hard in 2-3 years.

Drool
Pros: Great card. Maxed settings on every game I have. cod4,WoW, F3, and many more.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: Fantastic card for the price. When I bought it it was on sale for a fantastic price and I should have bought 2.

Awesome card
Pros: The sheer power of this card is just great. Sadly I'm only running it at 1280x1024, but I'm getting a new monitor to push it even harder. Being one of the more recent cards on the market, I had high expectations. For only $340, I don't think I could go wrong.
This card eats games like CoD:WaW and Far Cry 2 for breakfast. All of the Source games look wonderful too, even though they aren't optimized for it. Audiosurf looks gorgeous as well. The card itself doesn't get too hot for me, either. The included HDMI cable was a nice addition, as well. Overall I'm very happy with this card and everything it's included with.
Did I mention mine came with CoD:WaW, Far Cry 2, and 3D Mark Vantage for free? That's approximately $100 worth of free stuff. I like free stuff.
Cons: The card itself has no problems at all. The only problems I have encountered were due to my error, or because my other hardware limits its potential (power supply, monitor for example)
Other Thoughts: I'm using pretty dated 17" NEC LCD, so I'm not pushing the card to the limit. I think it's my monitors fault, but the fog effects on CoD:WaW were, at one point, flashing between green, grey, white, and black colors. It doesn't do it anymore, though.
I'm using a OCZ StealthXStream 600W PSU without much problem. I had to use the 6-pin and molex power adapters because of this. For some reason my card would randomly shut itself off. BFG Tech said my power supply was great, and it wasn't an overheating issue. I'm thinking it's a power connection issue, because it shut itself off once when I opened the side panel of my Smilodon case. I might have nudged one of the adapters or something.
Anyway, overall, this is a great card for what I paid for. Adding in the deal I got from the free software (that I would have bought later anyway), I effectively paid $240 for the card.
BFG Tech Support is kind of slow, and not too helpful. Their 24/7 phone line is usually busy, too.

Pros: What's not a pro of this behemoth of a video card? Has totally changed my perspective of games that I've already been through and set aside to collect dust. Actually changed the experience I have with those games.. makes them seem like new games altogether. Came with Call of Duty: World at War. The game looks like a war movie and this gpu runs it maxed out w/o hiccuping whatsoever.
Cons: People complain about its size. My case is roomy and that is not an issue.. this sucker looks "armor plated". Hahaha Cons with this gpu are non existant.
Other Thoughts: This gpu with my quad core cpu and 8 gigs of ram makes any of the new "breakthrough" consoles looks like the old game boys. If you have the cash, buy this vid card. It's worth every penny.

Great Card
Pros: Great card. This card runs on the Huge side. It will block Sata ports on most Mobos. BFG does a great job of documentation. Packaging and all docs seem like it was done stateside unlike other mfgs. I was glad to see that Far Cry 2 and 3dmarks were included in the box. The BFG website said the they ran out of the offer online. This was a worth while upgrade from my ATI 4850.
Cons: I chose the express rebate and it's been 3 weeks since they said the got my upc code.
Other Thoughts: Worth every penny so far. Not sure if it was a driver issue or not. I use this to play WoW @ 1920 x 1200. This card and the 4850 should have been overkill. The textures and how smooth the animation in the game is just jaw dropping with the 280 compared to the 4850.

Pros: Lightning fast, great graphics, haven't found a game I couldn't run at full quality.
Cons: Runs a little hot, was idling at around 51C topping out at around 70C, Installed the Thermalright VGA Cooler and brought my temps down to 35C Idle and 45 full load. If you want to protect this investment, invest in better cooling.

Great product, bad customer service
Pros: Fast card!! lifetime warranty! can max out all games other than crysis.
Cons: I owned this for two weeks now and wanted to do a gtx 295 trade-up. They processed the trade-up but I decided not to do it right now because I realized that I only have a 19" monitor and gtx 295's performance will only kick in if you have at least a 24" monitor. Anyways, I called the customer service and requested if I can cancel the trade-up now and just do it later before the 100 days expires, and the representative denied my request.
I called the other company with a 90-day setup and they said that I can cancel the setup and do it later right before the 90-day expires.
Reasons you want to think twice getting BFG products:
1. If you live in CA, it's a bad thing cause you have to send it to IL (turnaround is going to take longer); the other company is based in CA (turnaround is quicker)
2. Very bad customer service (very unprofessional); other company is very polite and considerable.
3. They will put you on hold for at least half an hour; the other company answered in
Other Thoughts: I still gave it 4 eggs because there's nothing wrong with the product.

Cons: recently released gtx 285
Other Thoughts: switched from diamond ati hd 4870 1gb b/c artifacts and dirver issues....had this card for about 1.5 months, it's running great with no problems. BFG is an excellent company with prompt customer service and tech support

MIB not honored
Pros: See cons because this review is not based solely on this cards performance.
Cons: I wish I could review based on performance but I take the entire package into consideration. The MIB price back in November put this card at a VERY good price point. I come to find out today that the rebate company they used went bankrupt! So in the end I did not get the 'bang for the buck' I
Other Thoughts: I have mailed in rebates and received checks for ~12 MIB's in the last 2 years. This is the first one I'm getting burned on which puts me in a horrible position as I was looking forward to SLI'ing with the same brand card. Not after this...

Pros: high resolution setting, nice video control panel, ez setupt, 1GB memory, etc, etc, etc...
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: got this card last night along with several other parts to build my gaming box. some of those being: nzxt tempest case, ocz 2x2GB 1033 liquid cooled ram, wolfdale oc intel dual core 3.16 processor and the asus maximus ll motherboard. Hooked everything up, after trouble shooting some minor things it works perfectly. maxed graphics on farcry2 and it looked AMAZING and ran flawlessly. my advice is its worth the sticker they put on it, so buy it

Pros: Seriously good card. I got it with a free copy of CoD 5, but when I opened the box, it also had Far Cry 2 and 3DMark Vantage plus a 30% off coupon for a BFG PSU--very cool. Installed fairly easy (it is pretty big). Fired right up. DLed new drivers and haven't had any trouble. Lifetime warranty is great.
Cons: None that I've seen. It's faster than the 4870 I was looking at before the price dropped, plus it comes standard with 1GB of memory (not to mention all the extras).
Other Thoughts: My 3DMark 06 score went from 11K to over 16K with just this card (coming from a G80 8800GTS SSC). Price was great (even though it keeps dropping!). This is my first BFG product, and I was a little hesitant at first, but they have won me over with such a complete and solid product--card, extras, warranty, etc. Last thing, I don't know how they do it, but I live in Japan and NewEgg manages to get things here in exactly one week. I ordered this on a Wed and it came in on Wed. I'm still waiting on a text book I ordered over a month ago. Great job NewEgg!

WOW
Pros: Plays any game you throw at it like its nothing. Call of Duty 4/5 doesn't hiccup at all, completely smooth game play. As for Crysis, it runs maxed out with around 20 fps. Not bad considering how bad a game Crysis is. lol And Far Cry 2 played maxed out with about 40 fps. Without AA it's 60 fps.
Cons: I don't have two of them. Like I need two of them lol

Great card for the bucks
Pros: Fast, runs fairly cool, easy to install, seemingly well made, lifetime warranty, BFG trade up program. Nice customer service via phone who spoke English. Great drivers that were a snap.
Cons: BIG, slightly expensive
Other Thoughts: Great card, I love, it runs great and it hasnt had one problem. Id suggest you buy a BFG card if its the nvidia chips you seek. Fits into my Antec 900 case fine, I had to move my HD however.

Pros: Awesome. Truth be told though, 2 x 8800 gtx cards in SLI do run games well. I guess its not a huge jump to 2 of these but Im happy I made the move.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: All good

For the price it's great
Pros: Card runs games great.
Cons: Fan can be very noisy when under heavy workload.
Other Thoughts: Card runs games great but I'm not sure if its worth an upgrade from anything over a G80. I went from a 8800GTX to this and well besides Crysis I didn't notice the improvement in any other games. There really is no games on the horizon that push graphics any further then Crysis and with DX11 (with Windows 7) due out by mid 2009.. you 'd expect nvidia to launch a GTX300 card with full DX11 compatibilities by then
Most people think DX11 is fully compatible with DX10.. but this isn't true. Tessellation and SM5.0 will be DX11 hardware only. Tessellation is a pretty big thing to be missing out on.

NICE
Pros: All good- easy install and updated drivers off the net with ease. I was so impressed I got the second one that night so Im running these in SLI which has been flawless. I upgraded from 2 8800 gtx's which I have to say were great cards but the 280's have so much more power- Im glad I waited and the price drop + rebates were right.
Cons: NONE

GAH!!!
Pros: Fast, quiet, incredible all around. I don't know of a game out right now that this thing won't play maxed out and at high resolutions.
Cons: Make sure this card will fit in your case!!! You will need 11" to fit this thing. Not really a con, but a lot of people are complaining about the length. Make sure you have both 6 AND 8 pin PCI-E power plugs, because each card requires both!
Other Thoughts: There is a lot of back and forth debate about whether this card beats the HD4870x2. In my opinion it looks about the same (and it seems any variance either way is more a manifestation of statistical variation in tests, chips etc). Single GPU matching a dual GPU and for a few hundred dollars cheaper... sounds like a winner to me. All kinda of rebates and sales going on right now (I paid $315 after rebates and such) make this a great time to be a card consumer. This thing is amazing in SLI, but is hungry for power. SLIzone is quoting at least 750W for an SLI setup depending on other devices in the case. I could not be happier with this card!

great card
Pros: Quiet, runs most games well at 2560x1600 (all of the console ports at least).
Cons: Sucks up a lot of power. My old OCZ 550watt (28 amps on 12v rail) didn't get past BIOS screen. Upgraded to a newer OCZ 650 watt with 38 amps on the 12 volt, and now it boots like a champ.
Other Thoughts: It came with far cry 2, 3d mark vantage license # and the flash light in the box, didn't have to mail anything in. ALso the card is big, I mean I read this in a bunch of the reviews, but if you have up facing SATA connectors in line with the first PCI-X slot, make sure you get low profile 90 degree connectors. Key word is low profile, one of the 90 connectors stuck out too high and I couldn't use it.

Fantastic
Pros: Paired with my Core i7 920, this thing screams performance. Runs maxed out with everything. I play WoW and the valve source games. I never skimp on my video cards. bottlenecks make me cringe.
Cons: Absolutely none. Quality comes with BFG.
Other Thoughts: Running this 280 GTX with an Antec Truepower 850W Quattro. I plan to add another 280 soon.

Screaming Fast
Pros: GET THIS CARD. It's a perfect price for it. At 1280x1024, I can run Crysis on half high, half very high, and 4xAA. I coupled it with my new Core i7 on a P6T deluxe and it's a perfect match. I could not be happier.
Cons: Huge. I had to remove my middle inside case fan holder to fit this monster in my Antec 900, but it was definitely doable. It crowds the other PCI-E/PCI slots on the P6T deluxe, but there's definitely room for two. It stays cool, but it emits a high-pitched whine on some Flash movies and game splash screens. Quiet when gaming.
Other Thoughts: Seriously, make sure you have room for this. If you can't fit 11 inches across, don't get this.

Best video card ever
Pros: I have both an ati 4870 and a 4870x2, and to be honest i am going to sell them right now. I guess the 4870x2 has more raw power, but the ati drivers are horrible. Any good tech that is worth anything will tell you that power is nothig without stability. To me the 280gtx looks and feels smoother during game play. and I have yet to have a game crash out with this card. With Farcry2 i could play about 30 min and both ati cards wold crash. I am much happier with the card. Plus i have it overclocked to 725/1500/1200 and it never gets over 70c. Also a few have complained about the fan noise, but in reality this card is quieter than both my ati cards.
Cons: big, but what do you expect for this kind of power
Other Thoughts: Buy this, you wont be disappointed

Great Card
Pros: Can run anything I throw at it while looking good (especially Crysis, the main reason I got the card). Box came with all connectors needed as my PSU only had 2 6-pin PCI-Express connectors.
Cons: The card is MASSIVE!!! It is longer than my motherboard and am kaving to special order SATA cables to use those ports. Check you board to make sure nothing gets covered up.

Good Card
Pros: Card works great. I am able to play World of Warcraft wide open with a Q9550 and get 45 - 60 FPS. Noise is not nearly as bad as everyone make out to be.
Cons: Size, power consumption, generates lots of heat.
Other Thoughts: The was supposed to come with FarCry 2 but didn't. Also the card came at the stock clock speeds. I am not going to argue because over clocking the card is simple.

excellent performance
Pros: Fluid rendering and reasonable price after the rebate.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: I fly flight sims which can be quite demanding on graphics cards. After a series of test flights I am quite pleased with elimination of stutters or hesitation in frame rates. Frame rate performance stays right on VSYNC settings for the monitor. GPU temps have been in line with those of my previous card, so no complaints.
Buying from Newegg over the years has never disappointed me.

Hot card
Pros: This card will run anything at 1600*1200ish resolution. And in tri-SLI is the best setup you can get.
Cons: These cards are hit or miss at times with temps. And unfortunately I got one that runs very hot even with extremely good air cooling (95 C). Unfortunately returning a video card means disabling your system for a week which isn't an option for me. Its a gamble you play with any of these highest end cards - some are just effectively junkers and you have to live with it.
Other Thoughts: Most of these cards overclock well.

Very Nice
Pros: GREAT over all !!!
Cons: Nothing so far.
Other Thoughts: I mostly play world of warcraft and it is overkill to buy a 280gtx for it but then again it is much apreated in crysis.

Pros: Extremely fast, will run almost every game out there for the next five or so years. No problems with installation or drivers.
Cons: The noise that comes from this card is absolutely unacceptable. They need to put quieter/higher quality fans on this card. I should get a decibel meter to measure the noise level. There is nothing wrong with the fan besides noise and it does keep the card cool.

Excellent Card
Pros: will run anything i've thrown at it so far. i'm running crysis at 1920x1080, 2x anti-alias, all other settings on high and getting just above 30fps most of the time (tried all settings on very high but got an fps of around 20.) running far cry 2 maxed out with an fps of almost 50.
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: system specs:
antec nine hundred case asus motherboard 8gb corsair xms2 memory 1000w corsair power supply bfg gtx280 video card intel 2.66ghz core 2 duo 24" hd monitor
nothing is overclocked except for the factory overclocking on the video card.

Already Said...
Pros: What can I say that hasn't been already said about this Monstrosity of a Graphics card? It's big, its bad, and it's expensive for a reason.
Cons: I don't find the need to OC it, but if that's your thing, more power to ya. No seriously, get more power for your Power Supply. I recc a PS of about 850W or more. Thing is a beast in the tower. Definitely need a full-sized tower for this puppy, nay Rottweiler!

Amazing!
Pros: Amazing Speedsand Quality, had a hard time getting it running stable at first (had too much heat from an OC'd Q6600), but got it running by not OCing the GPU:) I dont expect to overclock this card along with my CPU, but it was IDEAL. Anyway, This card runs amazingly fast with ALL, I mean ALL my games running at 1920 X 1080 on a Samung 40" LCD 60 FPS all MAX settings, well exept for Crysis, that runs at about 30 FPS on all max DX 10 settings:)
Cons: Ok, I RMA'd this product twice brcause of freezes and crashes on ANY 3D applications and games, turns out my 700 Watts THERMALTAKE MODULAR PS was the culprit, didnt offer enough AMPs on its 4!12V rails. Went and bought a 750 Watts CORSAIR PS with only 1 12V rail with High AMP rating and EVERYTHING is butta:) Not gonna take away an egg for my own mistake.
Other Thoughts: Didn't really care that I couldnt OC it, but F*** it, It comes factory OC'ed, plus I think my CPU is starting to bottleneck it.
-Intel Q6600 @ 3.2 (B3) -Gigabyte P35-DS3L -Mushkin DDR2 1066 @ 854 (5-5-5-15) -This Monster Card -SB X-FI Platinum -Xclio Wind Tunnel Case -750 Watts Corsair PSU
All from NEWEGG and STABLE and FAST:)

Nice Card When It works
Pros: When it works it will run anything.I.Q. looks great.Even tho two 8800gTS in SLI ran some games faster by a few frames per secound. It just does' not run them as smooth. The min frame rate is so much better with these cards because of the 1gig of Vram. These should last a long time because of there power. With a faster CPU ,the faster they will run.
Cons: First con is mine went defected in about two days.It showed little round circles in the Bios and would not even boot in to windows. But as always newegg.com support is great. They refunded me quick.I am waiting hopeing the prices might come down when the new .55nm cards come out.
Other Thoughts: This is the fastest single GPU card on the market. The 4870x2 only beats it because it is really two cards in one.If you don't want to mess with cross fire or SLI then this is a great card to get.It does'nt hurt that they are offering FarCry 2 and 3DMark Vantage Advance Edtion and a LED super bright flaslight.and also a 100 day trade up program.

Nice card
Pros: Fast, runs everything that I throw at it without any issues. But it's fast.
Cons: Not a big thing, but this card is huge. I'm using an Antec 900 case, and when I originally bought it I thought for sure that I'd have enough room for everything. This thing goes right up to the top HDD cage, and if you plan on filling those cages up with drives, you lose a slot. Fortunately for me I didn't need the space, I just had to think about where everything was placed a little bit more than usual. If you run more than one for whatever reason, think about getting a bigger case...
Other Thoughts: None really. I've been an AMD/ATI guy for the last few years, and this card was part of my first Intel build since 1998. I'm really happy with it so far.

Very Nice Card, A bit Overpriced Still
Pros: 1. Excellent in game performance for current Generation games at 1900 x 1200. I am able to play almost all my games at max or near max settings. This card offers signficantly better framerates that my 8800 GTX
2. Down Clocks in 2d mode. This keeps the temps even in a well vented case down while doing office tasks or internet browsing and does not stress the power supply as much.
3. BFG makes a well made product and included all adaptors and connectors you could possibly imagine. (6 pin to 8 pin, molex to 6 pin, DVI to HDMI, HDMI Cable.) Well done by BFG.
Cons: 1. Card is huge and thick (b/c of the cooling). Make sure you measure before purchasing this card. I thought my 8800 GTX was large but this thing makes it look small.
2. Price. I still feel the entire 2** serier is overpriced for the perfromance it provides.
3. ATI offers a competitve product at i think i better price point particularly with the 4870 1GB edition. It should have put more downward pressure on the Nvidia line than it did. The 280 serier should be starting around 330 now based on the performance comparisons.
Other Thoughts: I am happy with my purchase. I chose to overpay a bit because of my personal comfort level with Nvidia. I have owned a 6800GT, 2x7800GT, 8800GTX and now a 280GTX. This was the first time I struggled to pull the triggger on a Nviida product. If i did not have a comfort level with the brand i would not have bought this product but i do expect more down the line from them If the next time i am in the market for a new card has the same type of choices i think i'm going to give ATI a shot becasue they have been much more aggressive with their pricing. Starting this card at 650.00 was an insult to the consumers and took advantage of thier hardcore customer. I won't stand for it again and this may be my last Nvidia purchase. We'll see.

i agree "WOW"
Pros: out of box this card runs everyprogram i have on high 1920x1200 average frames in crysis with everything on high is 28-34 w.o.w. gets from60fps up to 150 depending on where u r and what ur doin
Cons: is slightly warm but extremely cooler than the two hd 2900 xt's it replaced while outperforming them in xfire config so the heat isn't anywhere as bad
Other Thoughts: if you wanna use less power but not sacrifice the performance and quality this is the card for you

WOW!!!
Pros: Simply put... out of the box, w/o OC it runs every game I have tried on max graphic settings and at a resolution of 1600x1050 with no lag.... games like Age of Conan, Crysis, Mass Effect, and Asassin's Creed to name a few.
Cons: High heat output, but don't let that deter you if you have enough common sense to have a well put together and maintained cooling system, air cooled is working fine with me.
Other Thoughts: The card is Long and very large, make sure it can fit in your case, I am running an 850W power supply and it hasn't caused a problem. Requires a 6pin PCI-E and an 8pin PCI-E PS hookup for just this one card.

Artifacting after 10 minutes!!
Pros: Looks great, I love the green and black!!
Cons: What about a graphic card that start artifacting during the installation of Vista?? All my system is using the default settings from the manufacturers with a high-end hardware (790i Ultra, DDR3, Quad core, Antec PSU and case). I sent the card today in RMA and hopefully the next one will be working...
Other Thoughts: BFG Tech support seems to rock: lifetime warranty, quick to answer support emails and send RMA info. But avoid as much as possible their phone support: I spent 20 minutes on the phone and talk to someone for only 2 minutes (I got all their waiting songs...too loud!!).
If BFG goes by here I would love to know why their cards are artifacting (cf comment on another BFG GTX 280).

Drivers issues
Pros: Looks great...and hopefully is powerful
Cons: As long as I was using the default Windows Vista 64b drivers it was working, but as soon as I installed the lastest drivers from the NVidia website Windows never ran again.... At this time I am reinstalling my system.
Other Thoughts: It seems to be a recurrent pb when using Vista even if the driver are certified for Vista 64bits!!

Excellent graphics card
Pros: Performs well beyond what I had expected. 512bit interface really does the job, allowing AA to be applied at high resolutions. Runs cool for this kind of monolithic GPU, though I've heard others haven't been so lucky. Eats everything I've thrown at it and kindly asks for more. Ordered a second for SLI.
Cons: Purchased this part at release and Nvidia had some really wacky pricing. I still feel it was worth the 650 USD but it's doubtlessly deterred other would-be buyers. Now that prices have settled and rebates abound, the price/performance of this card is a lot more tolerable.
Other Thoughts: I've found buying from BFG to be a consistently positive experience. Their customer support is helpful and their limited lifetime warranty is attractive, though I've never had one of their products fail, so I've never had to take advantage of it.

Great Card
Pros: I recently bought two of these cards and I'm very impressed. The overclocking ability of these cards is great too. I'm currently running with the following settings and the cards are doing great without stability issues, artifacting and without a noticable heat increase while overclocked. Core: 675Mhz Memory: 1325Mhz Shader: 1425Mhz
Cons: The cards do run pretty warm normally and they require a pretty hefty power supply to SLI these.
Other Thoughts: They are large, hot and power hungry cards but I guess that's the price for this kind of performance. All in all, I'm quite impressed.
