Mostly excellent
Pros: Installed easily and worked as described. No problems with any connections or switching between remote and local. Nice packaging.
Cons: Video quality was poor on a very long run (nearly 500'). Even at the lowest resolutions video was blurry and smeared, adjustment did not help. Beware if you plan to use for a long run!

Does what it's supposed to
Pros: Like the title says, it does what it's supposed too. Connect something here to something WAY over THERE using CAT 5e cable. Worked right out of the box at 1024x768.
Cons: So far none, but it's just been over a month.
Other Thoughts: We had a much older version of this that finally died after many years. The unit has changed a lot, hopefully not for the worse.

This thing is genius!
Pros: Extremely easy setup. The computer side has hookups so you can hook up the local Monitor, Keyboard and Mouse as well as the remote. Very handy! Very well constructed.
Cons: The video quality on the remote side isn't that great, even on an LCD monitor. If you have an application with small on-screen characters, readability could become a problem. This system was running at 1024x768, and the text was bold Arial at 10pt size (I believe). It was marginally readable. Fortunately for us it wasn't critical to be able to read that text. But if it were, and the text was any smaller, we would have needed to reduce the screen resolution. The video quality is the only reason I'm giving this 4 eggs instead of 5.
Other Thoughts: We used it to control a computerized light show at a dance with the control computer being located in the DJ booth and the Light Man (remote site) located next to the dance floor. We used 25' of CAT5 LAN cable. It survived 9 straight hours of active use, and it worked like a charm! It really made a difference.
I have yet to be disappointed with Belkin products. They are well worth the little extra you pay in quality.

It did work....eventually....
Pros: It does work, but I had to buy a Cat6 cable (50'). Quite useful once you get it working.
Cons: Video would not work with any Cat5/Cat5e cable over 3' (and I tried a LOT of different cables!) The mouse and keyboard would only work at less than 10' using the same test cables.
Other Thoughts: This was a very frustrating product to set up due to the cable/distance problems. I can understand why my old network cables might have noise problems, but brand new cables didn't work any better. I would love to know what was different for those having great success with Cat5 cable!

Works Great
Pros: Running a 1280x1024 signal over 120ft of Cat5 / Cat5e. Not as clear as a local VGA connection, but very readable. No perceptible keyboard / mouse lag
Cons: You get what you pay for.
Other Thoughts: I tried a cheaper KVM extender, and the keyboard and mouse constantly lagged and locked up. Horrible, was returned. Also, I did have to spend a few minutes tweaking the tuning knob, but its worth it.

Why Mess With Off Brands get the Origional
Pros: Works perfect right out of the box using LCD monitor. Easy to make fine adjustments right on the remote for ghosting.
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: Off brands are just not worth the truble to maybe save a few bucks.

does the job
Pros: Installs without a hitch. Have a flatpanel at 1280x1024 on a 50 foot cable, 75 hz refesh. Very slight quality degradation over direct connect, but fonts still have tack-sharp edges and there is no flicker.
special keys (wake, sleep, power) on the keyboard work as well.
the console ports are very useful when doing work directly at the computer, not having to go upstairs to the remote keyboard after inserting a CD is a welcome feature (if you have a second spare screen)
Cons: have not found anything yet
Other Thoughts: I use the device for a dedicated audio computer - instead of fighting fan noise with expensive silent solutions, I just moved the PC into the basement, routing USB via optical extender and KVM with the Belkin. Silence in the listening room

No Problems
Pros: works great at 1024 x 768 @ 70Hz over 50 feet (cat7 cable). Unit is small and comes with KVM cables.
Cons: Expensive. No audio
Other Thoughts: I highly recommend running this unit and the monitor on a UPS. The screen image seems to shimmer if I connect it straight to the AC without UPS (most likely noise on the AC line).

Buyer beware
Comments: Spent over 1 week with Belkin technical support trying to get this to work. All I can say is TERRIBLE support! Running this a total of 50 feet and could not get a get a clear/synchronized screen at 1024 x 768. After much trouble shooting, technical support finally told me to replace the cat5 cable with cat6! I said wait a minute - this is advertised at 300 feet with cat5. Changed the cable and still no luck. Finally got the unit to sync at the LOW resolution of 640 x 480 and then a few hours later.....Whamo - no color, just an ugly green screen and no sync. Tech support finally agreed that the unit was "probably" bad - Only issue is that no units in stock for "at least a week".

Works as claimed, no issues
Comments: Works great, even at 1280x1024 resolution. One nice plus I did not expect was the ability to have both a local setup at the server in addition to the remote keyboard/mouse/monitor. Video is clean even when monitoring feeding video for security cameras.

Very Good Extender
Comments: For the money, a great KVM extender. Works with multiple resolutions and scan rates. Image looks perfect, no snow-vision like on other models. Works well with LCD monitors as well.
